Jesse Ketchum Junior and Senior Public School Gr JK - 8 - EQAO Board ReportEvanSage
Jesse Ketchum Public School is located at Bay Street and Davenport Road near Yorkville Village. The school was established 179 years ago and the present building dates from 1914. The school is named after Jesse Ketchum, a philanthropist who donated the land to the School Board to build the school and to the city for the park.
The school serves almost 400 students, coming from all over the world and from all socio-economic groups. There are 40 different languages spoken in the homes of our students. At Jesse Ketchum our students build self-esteem and confidence, learn to work together in mutual respect and trust, and to value diversity.
EQAO ensures greater accountability and better quality in Ontario’s publicly funded school system. An arm’s-length agency of the provincial government, EQAO provides parents, teachers and the public with accurate and reliable information about student achievement. EQAO also makes recommendations for improvement that educators, parents, policy-makers and others in the education community can use to improve learning and teaching.

THE AGE OF CO-CREATION: ASIA's RISING ROLE IN THE PARTICIPATION CULTURE
This is part of the 2008 study by the Young Change Agents of Bates Asia. The whole study was designed to give young employees of Bates across Asia an open mic to voice their observations on the rising trend of "co-creation" and predict/foresee its implications in their markets. And this presentation focuses on the Philippines, with additional slides that were cut in the streamlining of the original report.
Five years hence, some foreseen implications have become reality:
1. That the power of media will shift from the traditional to the indipendent - ex. Rappler.com
2. That public opinion will not be shaped by traditional columnists, rather by bloggers and Social media mavens - ex. Bayan Mo I-patrol Mo
3. That a new creative class will rise: welcome the Fliptoppers on YouTube, online artists, creative entrepreneurs
4. That there will be demand for young Digital experts in business organizations
And the biggest prediction of them all:
"As more minds become more open to the possibilities introduced by the Internet, more people, without leadership or structure of an organization, will create and co-create content, ideas, opinions and trends that will challenge the status quo."
And in 2011-2012, we have the Arab Spring, WikiLeaks and the rise of Anonymous.

An overview of social media for the Eugene Chamber's Women Business Leaders group - including how to maximize your reach on the social Web by partnering with Citizen Marketers.
Today, most businesses, brands and individual professionals are using social media in some way, shape or form to communicate with their customers, prospects, colleagues and peers.
What about you? Have you established a solid presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other such online communication channels? Are you up to speed on the latest tools, technologies and tactics? Do you know how to stand out among the clutter of competing messages in this space? Are you able to attract enough likes, comments, shares, mentions and clicks to justify your investment of time and talent in this area?
Those are just a few of the questions that will be answered during this lively, hands-on workshop during which time you'll have the opportunity to set up and optimize your own social media accounts (as desired). You'll receive as much personal, individualized attention from our presenter(s) as time permits.
You'll learn:
* Which social media tools and technologies are trending
* How to use social media to position your brand in the most favorable way possible
* Why social media is so essential to successful marketing today
* How both big name brands and relatively obscure SMBs are incorporating social media into their integrated marketing plans
* What types of content fare best across the social media landscape
For social marketers it is always the content bucket challenge: finding ways to create content at the speed of thought and engage customers at the level of heart. Younomy's CASH framework - with its locus on conversations - shows few possible ways to do just that.
For products or services to succeed in the market, it is not enough that we look at addressing the needs of customers or market segments, but we need to find and address the needs of non-customers or larger systems. Younomy's Super Scope paradigm wants innovators to look at both market segment and larger systems.
Social media is powered by people's content. People in turn are motivated to create, share, value-add content (and build community) by their desire to express and nurture their identities
Humannovation and Marketing in the Social AgeYounomy
Fundamentals of marketing communication has not changed. But marketers are required to take a whole new look at marketing communication because social technology brings radical changes in the areas of interactivity and media ownership.
Just Right Design: for Innovation with Systems ThinkingYounomy
Innovators need to look at briefs that come from the market segments but also at the briefs that come from the larger systems - society, people who are going to be the users (but not customers), and the environment.
The worksheet is used in the social media workshops offered by Younomy for the management students. It helps students come up with ideas of new social media networking sites or platforms that have their inspiration in ordinary, everyday information and communication tools.
From economies of scale and scope, the industry is facing the challenge of making "economies of one" work. Apart from technology, the industry has to adopt co-creation practices in innovation and management.
Social media is made for engagement marketing, but since social is so versatile it can go beyond marketing, and get customers engaged in value creation.
Ideas on how to create multiple types of business value using social media, and what types of social projects are suitable to create what types of business value.
Designing social business platforms calls for an indepth understanding of social technology. Innovation in choosing and designing social media platforms will go a long way in ensuring social business success.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
