Milosevic Slobodan Research Paper
Introduction
Throughout Eastern Europe, many ordinary people took political action around the fall of the
communist regime. Protests ranged from small events to large, violent protests that changed the
composition within Yugoslavia. The dynamics of political elites and citizens began to take a different
shape as the structure of the authoritarian regime evolved. Yugoslavia suffered from instability due to
rapid changes socially, politically, and economically in which paved way for Milosevic Slobodan.
However, there was essentially two main reasons that allowed the nationalistic Serbian mobilization of
Kosovo Albanians: 1) Ordinary people adopted the ideals of the elites and
2) open opportunity during the fall of communism. Although these main reasons may overlap each
other, they both are definitive in the emergence of a new leader. As revolutions prove to break ground
when opportunities arise, Milosevic seized his chance at power. Nationalistic mobilization would
monopolize within the Serbian community and reawaken historic ties with the Kosovo Albanians. The
anti bureaucratic revolution progressed at the weakening of the Yugoslavian government. Essentially,
revolutionary movements are highly opportunistic, which tends to occur in non democratic regimes
with a weakened central control.

The CPY held precedence over local and state rulings and regulated nearly every aspect (economical,
social, political). Although Yugoslavia s political structure was completely redefined, cultural and
historical ties of the region were dismissed. The rapid integration between the Serbs, Croats, Slovenes
and other ethnicities were forced to a single state. There was no acknowledgement of identity or
territorial boundaries between the ethnicities, which would prove to be a vital error of judgement in
terms of political

Analyzing The Root Causes Of Risk Mismanagement
Analyzing the Root Causes of Risk Mismanagement
Introduction
According to Kendrick (2009, p. 17), roughly 75 percent of projects fail when project teams refuse to
adopt some form of risk monitoring and control. Ken Black (1996), an associate professor of decision
sciences, published an article listing twelve factors that contribute to the failure of projects. The article
highlighted risks, as one of the factors that can negatively affect project constraints (Black, 1996). A
risk, as defined by Kendrick (2009, p. 1), is an event or series of events that occur due to the level of
uncertainty associated with the project outcome. If a risk occurs, it threatens the success of a project
because it can halt or prolong the project s constraints. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Novice team members mistakenly assume that risks will not occur (Jutte, n.d.). Likewise, novice team
members also associate the implementation of risk management with adding extra work to an already
time poor schedule without any added benefits (Kendrick, 2009, p. 21). Too, novice team members
have no frame of reference for estimating the probability of impact of risk occurrences and may adopt
ineffective risk response strategies thereby increasing the impacts of risk occurrences.
Unlike novice team members, veteran team members understand the benefits of risk management and
draw upon their experience with past projects to mitigate risks (Awati, 2011). However, veteran team
members assert their individual perception when proposing approaches to risk management based on
their personal experiences (Awati, 2011). According to Awati (2009), subjective judgments such as of
illusion of control give veteran team members a false sense of security with the respect to the degree
of control they have over minimizing or avoiding a risk. Likewise, groupthink is an example of
veteran team members intimidating less experienced colleagues into agreeing with an approach
because they present evidence that contradicts their resolution (Awati, 2009). Thus, all cognitive
biases contain some degree of error in perception and can lead to project failure.

Wayne Williams Fiber Evidence Case Study
In the case of Wayne Williams, the fiber evidence was key in obtaining the conviction for the murders
(Imwinkelried, 1983). The fiber evidence most assuredly led to the jury s final decision of guilty,
without this evidence a case could not have been formed to display the guilt of Wayne Williams
without the shadow of a doubt. In addition to the fiber evidence, the prosecution presented hair
evidence that displayed a 98% chance of belonging to Wayne Williams as well as his German
Shepherd, Sheba (Deadman, 1984). This evidence alone would not have proven the guilt of Wayne
Williams. The prosecution also presented witness testimony linking Wayne Williams to some of the
victims despite his own testimony relaying he had no contact with them. The

Abstract William Edwards Deming was known to many as one of the Great Quality Pioneers. He was
born in Sioux City, Iowa and eventually became a statician. He attended school in a one room school
house where he got his education early. He studied with Walter Shewhart for many years and used his
theory of statistical control as the basis of his own work. He eventually went off to college and ended
up with his Doctorate degree. He made an impact on Japan helping them to get their economy back
together after WWII. After working in Japan he came back to the United States and was professor at
many different colleges. His big break in the United States was when he did an interview on NBC

After he received his bachelor s degree he stayed at the University of Wyoming where he became an
instructor in engineering and still studied math. Deming received his master s degree in 1924 at the
University of Colorado at Boulder to become a physics teacher there. He later attended Yale to finish
with his doctorate and worked at Western Electric where he learned of Walter Shewharts theory of
quality control. After studying with Shewhart for several years Deming used his theory of statistical
control as the basis of his own work. (Wikipedia). Deming was able to help the United States Bureau
of the Census in it first sampling experiment. Then during WWII the techniques that he used for
wartime production faded away and he ended up working in Japan after they lost the war to help
rebuild their economy. While working with Japanese scientists and engineers Deming helped their
production to pick up and revenues started rising and the word spread about his principles of quality
control. Deming s 14 points for management originally started with top management. But in order to
have a successful organization Deming thought that it must be taught throughout. The fourteen key
principles for management for transforming business effectively are: 1. Create consistency of purpose

Raphael Sanzio Essay
Raphael Sanzio
Raphael was one of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance. Raphael painted and
designed many brilliant pieces of work and the stanzas inside the Vatican. He was a master at such
necessities of modern art such as depth and perspective and the use of light and shadow, and was the
turning point styles of paintings like the use of Madonnas in paintings. Through his short life, Raphael
would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art during the Italian
Renaissance.
Raphael whose full name was Raphael Sanzio, (also known as Raphael Sanzi), was born on April 6th,
1483. He was born in the town of Urbino, Italy, where he would spend his childhood life until he was
11 years old. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Raphael created The Marriage of the Virgin before he was even 21 years old, and he was still Perugino
s apprentice. Even then, Raphael had a great understanding of depth and perspective, which he shows
well in The Marriage of the Virgin. In that piece, the background is beautifully drawn, and although
the background stands out, you can still notice the people in the foreground without being distracted
by the background. These people are shown having emotions, and instead of being motionless, some
characters are making very noticeable actions and a lot of movement, so the people do not appear
lifeless. Instead, they appear sort of realistic.
In 1504, Raphael moved to Florence. There, in Florence, some of the Italian Renaissance s biggest
names lived and worked in Florence. In Florence, Raphael studied Michelangelo s use of anatomy and
Leonardo da Vinci s use of light and shadow. He met such big names in Florence such as
Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Fra Bartolommeo, who was another painter that did such works as The
Holy Family. It was in Florence that Raphael made a name for himself as an artist.
One style of painting Raphael favored all throughout his career was that of creating Madonnas over
his short life; those are what made Raphael famous in Florence. The way Raphael created his
Madonnas, Madonna meaning Mary, the mother of Jesus, portray Mary as a loving, caring human
woman. Many other artists before Raphael portrayed Mary as an

Conflict In Sundiata
Conflicts are sometimes destructive, but perhaps they teach a lesson. They are a source of quarreling,
ridicule, and sometimes motivation to reflect on oneself. Conflict in one s life is also a source of
personal growth and learning. Every conflict in life, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant,
shapes a person s character. In the Mali epic Sundiata, the main character, Sundiata, experiences many
conflicts in his life. The conflicts with his family, his physical body, and himself help to transform his
character from a boy with few abilities to a capable young man. Physical disabilities can be crippling.
Some disabilities can be overcome, but no matter what effect they leave physically, they have lasting
effects on character. Sundiata ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Family relationships can have the greatest impact one s life. Family can encourage, but they can also
criticize and be judgmental. Judgments and attitudes expressed towards a person can either motivate
them or demolish their self esteem. From the moment Sundiata was born, every step of the way at
every major developmental milestone, Naré Maghan s first wife constantly ridiculed Sundiata and his
mother for his lack of abilities, looks, and overall development. She even called him a ` lion that
crawls on the ground` (129). This mocking continued for years. The acidulous remarks must have
made him self conscious in some way, which might have encouraged him to walk. Not only were the
over wives derisive, but also Sundiata s own mother was cynical in her attitude towards him.
Sassouma mocked Sogolon for not having a son that could get leaves from a tree for her, Sogolon hit
him with a wooden board, fed up with his selfishness and showing no interest in walking (132). When
Sundiata offered to get her leaves or even the entire tree, then asked for the iron bar, one can infer that
a change in his character occurred either from feeling ashamed he let down his mother or from his
mother nagging him to walk. Either way, the relationships with his family and their bullying caused
him to make the decision to walk, which was a massive leap forward in his development as a
character. It meant he finally showed a desire to walk,

Eusebius s Expository Essay
Eusebius emphasizes the importance of academic study for effective pastoral care and defense of the
community both within, and outside of the community. I wonder if this may have been a response to
widespread suspicion among other Christians of the philosophical and esoteric brand of Christianity
that seems to have been quite prevalent in 4th century Alexandria and Caesarea. His insistence on the
concrete value of intellectual pursuits is in part to rehabilitate his heritage and connection to Origen. It
may also be a response in part due to what Eusebius would call elite prejudice against the isolated
philosopher. However, as Origen s attitude toward the leadership of the church had evolved from that
of Clement of Rome, Eusebius attempts to take a step or two beyond Origen. Eusebius both does
justice to his heritage in Origen, while shaping it into his 4th century rhetoric and ideology of
legitimate authority. For Origen, the free obedience of the student to the teacher was vital, and

discussion of the first Christian school, revealing the school s ultimate role in his ideological model of
Christian leadership and the picture of the church that it not only enables, but strengthens overall,

Side Effects Of Vaccination Essay
Vaccines very rarely have any adverse effects and have been proven to have no link to the
development of ASD in children. Nevertheless, parents continue to fear them. While this research
article by Andrew Wakefield along with twelve others from the Royal Free Medical School in London
seems legitimate, the data was found to be distorted (Deer). Moreover, the article was then retracted in
2010 and Wakefield s medical license was revoked (Deer). In Wakefield s research of the children, it
was found that only one clearly had regressive autism (Deer). In fact, many of the children that
Wakefield had studied in the article had developmental delays, and also facial dysmorphisms noted
before MMR vaccination (Deer). Even after the article was retracted and it was proven that his
research was unfounded, there continued to be skepticism about vaccines but they are urged to

High School Vs. College Student
High school Student vs. College Student School plays an important role in our life. Many of us will
spend more than fifteen years at school in order to get the qualifications that are required to work in a
specific field. Of course, those years are broken down into several levels, some of them being more
liked than others. Two important steps that we go through are high school and college. Even though
some people would think they are almost similar, yet there are significant differences between them.
The cost of high school education is not the same as the cost of college education. Also, some
differences apply from an academic point of view. Typically, the social environment also differs from
high school to college, a fact that can be related to the question of freedom versus responsibility. It is
true to say that college is more expensive than high school. Of course, it provides a higher level of
education, but by having such high fees it does not give a chance to them; coming from a family with
a low income. Also, at college you have to buy your own books whereas in high school you borrow
them from the school for a year. As they do for high schools, the government should pay for the books
and then borrow them to students, as they do in high schools. Paying for the education you get is
expensive, but many people have to pay even more. Many cities do not have colleges, so students who

Janet s Point Of View
Janet s Point of View in The Storm McKnight Malmar s story, The Storm , is a suspenseful short story
about a woman, later in the story revealed to be named Janet, coming home to an empty house with no
sign of her husband, Ben. The story is told in third person limited point of view where the reader
follows Janet who has to process her husband being gone, and finding the lifeless body of a woman
while alone in her isolated home during a thunderstorm. The story starts with Janet being excited and
relieved to come home to her husband, where she imagines a kind, almost platonic Ben to welcome
her home by kissing her cheeks and touching her shoulders (Malmar, Pg. 1). Through the progression
of the story, Janet uses her time alone to shift her happy thoughts of Ben into doubt and reason. During
the storm, Janet is able to see her life with Ben as the abusive relationship it truly is. The first portion
of the story begins with Janet having high regards for her husband and the house they live in. She
imagined a surprised Ben sitting by the fire with his paper inside their home, with his face lighting up
at her early return. In the kitchen, she would make coffee for the two of them and talk by the fire. She
sits in the house without Ben, who is not home, and while alone, her attention shifts from her idealistic
scenario involving her husband to the ongoing storm and how it appears to be getting worse. From this
point of the story and onwards, Janet battles herself and how she

The Mediating Roles Of Psychological Contract Fulfillment
Hypothesis For this study the authors gave five hypotheses. These hypotheses were related to the
mediating roles of psychological contract fulfillment, need for change and trust. Trust being the only
one included in three of the hypotheses. For hypothesis 1 the authors hypothesized that psychological
contract fulfillment moderates the relationship of attitude toward change and change information,
therefore change information is positively correlated to psychological contract fulfillment.
Furthermore psychological contract fulfillment would be positively correlated to behavioral, affective,
and cognitive dimensions of attitude toward change. For hypothesis 2 it was hypothesized by the
authors that perceived need for change influences the relationship between change information and
attitude toward change showing that change information and perceived need for change are positively
correlated. Also that perceived need for change is positively correlated to the behavioral, affective, and
cognitive dimension of attitude toward change. For hypothesis 3a, it was hypothesized that trust
moderates the relationship between attitude toward change and change information, therefore there s a
positive correlation between trust and change information, and trust and the affective, behavioral, and
cognitive dimension of attitude toward change. Furthermore, for hypothesis 3b, the authors

the account recorded on Tablet 11of the Sumero Babylonian version of the epic of Gilgamesh,
discovered in the 1800 s by British archaeologists in Assyria. Let us compare the two in this essay.
Alexander Heidel in his book, The Gilgamesh Epic and Old Testament Parallels, provides a
background for the survivor of the Sumero Babylonian Flood, Utnapishtim:
Utnapishtim was the son of Ubara Tutu, the Otiartes, or, rather, Opartes of Berossus. According to
Berossus, the deluge hero was the tenth Prediluvian king in Babylonia. Also in the Sumerian
inscription he is referred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[. . .] Build an ark.
[. . .] Load the seed of every living thing into your ark,
the boat that you will build.
Let her measure be measured;
let her breadth and length be equal.
Cover it with a roof as the abyss is covered. (Gardner 226)
There is no reason given by Utnapishtim for the deluge. On the contrary, the Judaic version of the
Flood in Genesis states in 6:5 8 a very clear, explicit reason for the Flood:
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that very imagination of the
thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the
earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, I will blot out man whom I have created from
the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I
have made them.
Likewise in Genesis 11:13 God gives a reason for the Flood:
And God said to Noah, I have determined to make an end of all flesh; for the earth is filled with
violence through them; behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
In Column 2 of Tablet 11 the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative continues with the measurements
and construction of the ark:
One acre was its whole floorspace; ten dozen cubits the height of each wall;
ten dozen cubits its deck, square on each side.
I [Utnapishtim] laid out the contours, drew it all.
I gave it six

The Emotional vs. Intellectual Growth of Children in Hard...
In Hard Times, Charles Dickens explores the importance of the developments of both intellect and
emotions throughout a child s upbringing. However, to an extent, Dickens emphasizes on the greater
importance of emotional growth compared to intellectual growth; such as the much happier and more
compassionate human being Sissy is compared to Louisa and Tom, whom have had all fancy rooted
out of their childhood. Furthermore, although Bitzer may not be unhappy in any way, he still lacks
compassion and an understanding of emotions as a result of his education under Gradgrind s fact only
system. As such, the administrator of this system, Gradgrind, also lacks the ability to recognise
emotion, and hence was unable to acknowledge his children s ... Show more content on

Even though she is aware of the reasons behind the way that she is, such is the impact that Gradgrind s
education on her that she has no means of comforting herself or repairing the damages that she has
endured. Consequently, it has demonstrated the degree to which the failure of development of her
emotions has affected Louisa and caused her young life to be filled with misery. Nevertheless, if
Louisa hadn t possessed her desire of emotions, the detrimental effects, that she is aware of, would be
lessened a great deal.
Bitzer undergoes the same figurative and factual education as Louisa and Tom, hence he too lacks the
ability to identify with emotions. On the contrary, Bitzer did not possess the inner fire that Louisa had,
and as a result did not feel that he had been repressed or miserable. He develops into a cold and
heartless human being and has no compassion whatsoever for anyone or anything. Bitzer s heart is
only accessible to reason and he feels no need to thank his educator, Gradgrind, when is asked of him
during Tom s escape. Furthermore, Bitzer notes that his schooling was paid for and that when he
graduated, the bargain ended . This emphasizes how in Bitzer s mind, everything is determined upon
figures and reason, and has no room for any sort of compassion. It is through Bitzer that Dickens
demonstrates how even though on may not feel as though they are suffering from the lack of
emotional growth, it is plain to

Deductive Bible Studies
One of the major things that I took from the readings is the process of approaching the scripture. I
have always been what I thought was a stickler for the scriptures, and learning what they are trying to
communicate, however as I have spent time reading Bible Study That Works , and Inductive Bible
Study I am beginning to discover that I am merely a novice when it comes to studying the scriptures. I
have always thought it was important to approach the scriptures from an objective set of lenses, so that
one is not miss interpreting the scriptures, but I did not realize how important the inductive process
was to studying. Based on what I have read, and what I have heard in our lectures thus far, it appears
that most of our current churches in this culture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the things that really stood out to me was this process of inductive study, and not deductive
study. As I look around at most of the mega churches across the United States, and even the local UM
churches I see this topical approach, where one is search for scriptures to apply to this topical theme.
The sad thing is that according to Bauer and Traina, we are really missing out. They write about how
deduction appears to have an end in sight, where as induction cannot be contained. It is almost as this
idea of deduction is for the simple minded, or one with less time to ask the question why. Now this is
just my observation from the outside, however it seems like in our current culture this is what most
Christians seem to gravitate to. This idea of theme based teaching and study. I wonder is this because,
they want a solution to their problem? So

Logistics services in the supply chain can be considered as a service offering, with numerous logistics
companies competing to offer comparable services to many of the same consumers. As consumers
hunt for potential providers in this extremely competitive marketplace, logistics service suppliers
should discover approaches to distinguish themselves and their service offerings so as to help them
compete. One established method for companies to differentiate themselves is by building strong
brands. For instance, FedEx has evidently distinguished itself through successful brand management.
The brand value to consumers is usually signify as consumer based equity which happens when
consumers possess a high level of familiarity and awareness with the brand and retains some strong,

brands in the world. Due to FedEx s strong brand name, customer loyalty is developed among

Artemis does not have a certain meaning but one theory suggests that it means quail referring to a
version of her birth in which her father, Zeus, turned her mother, Leto, into said bird ( Greek

I was having some friends over on Friday night. Friday the thirteenth of october to be exact. Me and
my four best friends. It was Erick, Jeff, Brady, and Trevor. We made food and watched movies and
talked where we were going hunting tomorrow. By midnight, we d run out of things to do. We were so
bored. Let s try that Bloody Mary thing, Trevor said. Erick, was sitting crossed legged on his sleeping
bag, said, What s the Bloody Mary thing? Brady, who was laying on top of his own sleeping bag on
the far side of the room, said: Come on, Erick. everyone knows the Bloody Mary thing! You stand in
front of the bathroom mirror with a lighted candle and say the Mary s name three times. Then her
ghost appears, looking just the way she did when she died; all horrible and bloody with scars all over
her face! . She sounds gorgeous. Just why, exactly, do you think I would want to see the ghost of
Bloody Mary? Erick asked. Why not? I said from my spot on the air mattress in the living room. I ve
always wanted to see a ghost! It could be fun. Besides, I ve heard she can tell your future if you
summon her correctly. And if you don t summon her correctly, or if she s in a bad mood, the ghost of
Bloody Mary will rip your eyes out and leave your face horribly scarred, Jeff said dramatically. Or
you will be found dead with claw marks all over your face and body. Or you could be trapped in the
mirror with Bloody Mary for eternity, Trevor

Fans Are Not Like In Sports Stadiums
Each year thousands of people leave events because stadiums do not do much to encourage them to
come back. Without incentives, stadiums will lose many people at events and that results in a major
loss of income. In order for a stadium to be successful, owners must intimately know what fans
dislike, have a clear understanding of what they like, and figure out what fans want in sports stadiums
in order for them to come back. A big amount of money is made in stadiums when the owners find out
what the fans like seeing in the stadiums and even trying to make what they like even better, like The
unique roof that redirects the noise onto the visitor s team sideline. This definitely must be true since
the Vikings are undefeated still, somehow (The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Epic Of Beowulf And Grendel
When one first encounters the epic poem Beowulf, they are usually taken aback by the differences
between the text of the Anglo Saxons at that time and our present culture. This tale of a heroic warrior,
Beowulf, defeating his opponent, Grendel, is certainly different from current works of fiction.
Differences in diction, context, and characters allow readers to see how different other cultures were,
and whether or not these differences carry over into other cultures. It is no secret that things have
changed since that time, somewhere around 580 1000 A.D. Perhaps these changes contribute to the
differences encountered in various types of media about the same story. For example, Beowulf the
epic poem focuses on Beowulf s strength, whereas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A lot of Grendel s behavior is a result of his descent. Cain got no good from committing that murder
because the Almighty made him anathema and out of the curse of his exile there sprang ogres and
elves and evil phantoms (Heaney, Seamus page 9). References to the Biblical story of Cain and Abel
throughout the epic allow readers to infer that Grendel comes from a cursed bloodline. This was
common during this time period, as kinship was weighed heavily in determining a person s character.
In this time, it was not common to see an antagonist as complex as the hero of the story, which is why
Grendel is very plainly evil. As the story progresses, there is no change in his character, and even in
his defeat, it is hard for readers to sympathize with him because of this. He is constantly described as a
monstrous creature, one of pure evil, which adheres to the thinking of simplistic duality present in the
culture of the Anglo Saxons. Everything was simply good or evil by nature, and Grendel obviously
fell under the latter. While that was considered normal for that time period, current audiences would
not accept it so willingly. Our culture is one of reasoning and logic, questioning everything without
simply accepting it. In the time of the epic, they simply embraced what was and demanded no
explanation. Perhaps this contributes largely to the difference in text and film, and why characters
pursue different quests.
In Beowulf and Grendel,

Hamilton Vs Thomas Jefferson Essay
Jefferson and Madison were two of the Founding Fathers of America. Thomas Jefferson wrote the
Declaration of Independence, and James Madison wrote many important parts of the Constitution;
these two people helped contribute to what America is today. The Constitution established America s
government, laws, and guaranteed citizens basic rights. One of the most debated issues over the
Constitution is how strictly or loosely the Constitution should be `interpreted. Although Thomas
Jefferson and James Madison were strict constructionists, this characterization changed during their
presidencies, because the circumstances necessitated a shift. Jefferson and Hamilton feuded over
whether the Bank was constitutional or not. Jefferson believed since the bank was not written or
enumerated, in the Constitution it was forbidden. Hamilton argued that the bank was constitutional
because the Constitution s implied powers did not forbid the creation of the bank therefore it was
permitted. Hamilton created the Elastic Clause of Congress that stated Congress has the power to do
whatever is necessary and proper to carry out its appointed duties, consequently leading to the ...

influential political theorists of the twentieth century. She was born in a German Jewish family and

of pure hate and projecting it on the Jews (Adorno, projection theory). Of course, there were
exceptions like Oscar Schindler who had his own ideology unlike Eichmann who was part of the
process whereby ugly, degrading, murderous, and unspeakable acts become routine and are accepted
as normal. Hannah willingly engaged in the path of enlightenment knowing the bitter consequences
she might face. Although Arendt started Eichmann in Jerusalem as a trial report, it became a literary

Although Under Armour has done well over the past few years, they face though competition from top
players like Nike and Adidas. These larger companies have more resources and a greater presence in
the international market. There is also a threat of new entrants, and since UA does not hold patents for
its products, new and existing companies may begin to compete for a spot in the performance apparel
market. Other threats include the company s limited bargaining power (resulting from their diverse
supplier base) and the leverage held by wholesale customers. Fortunately, UA does have the advantage
of strong brand recognition, a reputation for innovative and high quality products, and testimonials of
world renowned athletes, minimizing the threat of substitute products. Although the company was
established more than fifteen years ago, Under Armour, Inc. continues to be in the growth phase of its
life cycle. Revenues this quarter increased almost 23% year over year, and the Compound Annual
Growth Rate (CAGR) for the last five years is about 24%. This is higher than the average quarterly
revenue growth (Y/Y) of 8% for the apparel industry, and places UA above eight percent of its
competitors. UA has also outperformed most of its competitors in quarterly Earnings Per Share (EPS)

  • 2. Milosevic Slobodan Research Paper Introduction Throughout Eastern Europe, many ordinary people took political action around the fall of the communist regime. Protests ranged from small events to large, violent protests that changed the composition within Yugoslavia. The dynamics of political elites and citizens began to take a different shape as the structure of the authoritarian regime evolved. Yugoslavia suffered from instability due to rapid changes socially, politically, and economically in which paved way for Milosevic Slobodan. However, there was essentially two main reasons that allowed the nationalistic Serbian mobilization of Kosovo Albanians: 1) Ordinary people adopted the ideals of the elites and 2) open opportunity during the fall of communism. Although these main reasons may overlap each other, they both are definitive in the emergence of a new leader. As revolutions prove to break ground when opportunities arise, Milosevic seized his chance at power. Nationalistic mobilization would monopolize within the Serbian community and reawaken historic ties with the Kosovo Albanians. The anti bureaucratic revolution progressed at the weakening of the Yugoslavian government. Essentially, revolutionary movements are highly opportunistic, which tends to occur in non democratic regimes with a weakened central control. Nationalist Mobilization Nationalist studies ... • 3. Analyzing The Root Causes Of Risk Mismanagement Analyzing the Root Causes of Risk Mismanagement Introduction According to Kendrick (2009, p. 17), roughly 75 percent of projects fail when project teams refuse to adopt some form of risk monitoring and control. Ken Black (1996), an associate professor of decision sciences, published an article listing twelve factors that contribute to the failure of projects. The article highlighted risks, as one of the factors that can negatively affect project constraints (Black, 1996). A risk, as defined by Kendrick (2009, p. 1), is an event or series of events that occur due to the level of uncertainty associated with the project outcome. If a risk occurs, it threatens the success of a project because it can halt or prolong the project s constraints. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Novice team members mistakenly assume that risks will not occur (Jutte, n.d.). Likewise, novice team members also associate the implementation of risk management with adding extra work to an already time poor schedule without any added benefits (Kendrick, 2009, p. 21). Too, novice team members have no frame of reference for estimating the probability of impact of risk occurrences and may adopt ineffective risk response strategies thereby increasing the impacts of risk occurrences. Unlike novice team members, veteran team members understand the benefits of risk management and draw upon their experience with past projects to mitigate risks (Awati, 2011). However, veteran team members assert their individual perception when proposing approaches to risk management based on their personal experiences (Awati, 2011). According to Awati (2009), subjective judgments such as of illusion of control give veteran team members a false sense of security with the respect to the degree of control they have over minimizing or avoiding a risk. Likewise, groupthink is an example of veteran team members intimidating less experienced colleagues into agreeing with an approach because they present evidence that contradicts their resolution (Awati, 2009). Thus, all cognitive biases contain some degree of error in perception and can lead to project failure. Project Changes During the course of a project, change is an inevitable certainty and ... • 4. Wayne Williams Fiber Evidence Case Study In the case of Wayne Williams, the fiber evidence was key in obtaining the conviction for the murders (Imwinkelried, 1983). The fiber evidence most assuredly led to the jury s final decision of guilty, without this evidence a case could not have been formed to display the guilt of Wayne Williams without the shadow of a doubt. In addition to the fiber evidence, the prosecution presented hair evidence that displayed a 98% chance of belonging to Wayne Williams as well as his German Shepherd, Sheba (Deadman, 1984). This evidence alone would not have proven the guilt of Wayne Williams. The prosecution also presented witness testimony linking Wayne Williams to some of the victims despite his own testimony relaying he had no contact with them. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Deming was able to help the United States Bureau of the Census in it first sampling experiment. Then during WWII the techniques that he used for wartime production faded away and he ended up working in Japan after they lost the war to help rebuild their economy. While working with Japanese scientists and engineers Deming helped their production to pick up and revenues started rising and the word spread about his principles of quality control. Deming s 14 points for management originally started with top management. But in order to have a successful organization Deming thought that it must be taught throughout. The fourteen key principles for management for transforming business effectively are: 1. Raphael painted and designed many brilliant pieces of work and the stanzas inside the Vatican. He was a master at such necessities of modern art such as depth and perspective and the use of light and shadow, and was the turning point styles of paintings like the use of Madonnas in paintings. Through his short life, Raphael would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art during the Italian Renaissance. Even then, Raphael had a great understanding of depth and perspective, which he shows well in The Marriage of the Virgin. In that piece, the background is beautifully drawn, and although the background stands out, you can still notice the people in the foreground without being distracted by the background. These people are shown having emotions, and instead of being motionless, some characters are making very noticeable actions and a lot of movement, so the people do not appear lifeless. Instead, they appear sort of realistic. In 1504, Raphael moved to Florence. There, in Florence, some of the Italian Renaissance s biggest names lived and worked in Florence. In Florence, Raphael studied Michelangelo s use of anatomy and Leonardo da Vinci s use of light and shadow. He met such big names in Florence such as Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Fra Bartolommeo, who was another painter that did such works as The Holy Family. It was in Florence that Raphael made a name for himself as an artist. One style of painting Raphael favored all throughout his career was that of creating Madonnas over his short life; those are what made Raphael famous in Florence. Conflict in one s life is also a source of personal growth and learning. Every conflict in life, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, shapes a person s character. In the Mali epic Sundiata, the main character, Sundiata, experiences many conflicts in his life. Judgments and attitudes expressed towards a person can either motivate them or demolish their self esteem. From the moment Sundiata was born, every step of the way at every major developmental milestone, Naré Maghan s first wife constantly ridiculed Sundiata and his mother for his lack of abilities, looks, and overall development. She even called him a ` lion that crawls on the ground` (129). This mocking continued for years. The acidulous remarks must have made him self conscious in some way, which might have encouraged him to walk. Not only were the over wives derisive, but also Sundiata s own mother was cynical in her attitude towards him. Sassouma mocked Sogolon for not having a son that could get leaves from a tree for her, Sogolon hit him with a wooden board, fed up with his selfishness and showing no interest in walking (132). When Sundiata offered to get her leaves or even the entire tree, then asked for the iron bar, one can infer that a change in his character occurred either from feeling ashamed he let down his mother or from his mother nagging him to walk. Either way, the relationships with his family and their bullying caused him to make the decision to walk, which was a massive leap forward in his development as a character. It meant he finally showed a desire to walk, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Eusebius s Expository Essay Eusebius emphasizes the importance of academic study for effective pastoral care and defense of the community both within, and outside of the community. I wonder if this may have been a response to widespread suspicion among other Christians of the philosophical and esoteric brand of Christianity that seems to have been quite prevalent in 4th century Alexandria and Caesarea. His insistence on the concrete value of intellectual pursuits is in part to rehabilitate his heritage and connection to Origen. It may also be a response in part due to what Eusebius would call elite prejudice against the isolated philosopher. However, as Origen s attitude toward the leadership of the church had evolved from that of Clement of Rome, Eusebius attempts to take a step or two beyond Origen. Eusebius both does justice to his heritage in Origen, while shaping it into his 4th century rhetoric and ideology of legitimate authority. • 12. High School Vs. College Student High school Student vs. College Student School plays an important role in our life. Many of us will spend more than fifteen years at school in order to get the qualifications that are required to work in a specific field. Of course, those years are broken down into several levels, some of them being more liked than others. Two important steps that we go through are high school and college. Even though some people would think they are almost similar, yet there are significant differences between them. The cost of high school education is not the same as the cost of college education. Also, some differences apply from an academic point of view. Typically, the social environment also differs from high school to college, a fact that can be related to the question of freedom versus responsibility. It is true to say that college is more expensive than high school. Of course, it provides a higher level of education, but by having such high fees it does not give a chance to them; coming from a family with a low income. Also, at college you have to buy your own books whereas in high school you borrow them from the school for a year. As they do for high schools, the government should pay for the books and then borrow them to students, as they do in high schools. • 14. Janet s Point Of View Janet s Point of View in The Storm McKnight Malmar s story, The Storm , is a suspenseful short story about a woman, later in the story revealed to be named Janet, coming home to an empty house with no sign of her husband, Ben. The story is told in third person limited point of view where the reader follows Janet who has to process her husband being gone, and finding the lifeless body of a woman while alone in her isolated home during a thunderstorm. The story starts with Janet being excited and relieved to come home to her husband, where she imagines a kind, almost platonic Ben to welcome her home by kissing her cheeks and touching her shoulders (Malmar, Pg. 1). Through the progression of the story, Janet uses her time alone to shift her happy thoughts of Ben into doubt and reason. During the storm, Janet is able to see her life with Ben as the abusive relationship it truly is. The first portion of the story begins with Janet having high regards for her husband and the house they live in. She imagined a surprised Ben sitting by the fire with his paper inside their home, with his face lighting up at her early return. In the kitchen, she would make coffee for the two of them and talk by the fire. She sits in the house without Ben, who is not home, and while alone, her attention shifts from her idealistic scenario involving her husband to the ongoing storm and how it appears to be getting worse. These hypotheses were related to the mediating roles of psychological contract fulfillment, need for change and trust. Trust being the only one included in three of the hypotheses. For hypothesis 1 the authors hypothesized that psychological contract fulfillment moderates the relationship of attitude toward change and change information, therefore change information is positively correlated to psychological contract fulfillment. Furthermore psychological contract fulfillment would be positively correlated to behavioral, affective, and cognitive dimensions of attitude toward change. Comparing the Gilgamesh and Genesis Floods The rendition of the historic, worldwide Flood recorded in Genesis of the Old Testament is similar to the account recorded on Tablet 11of the Sumero Babylonian version of the epic of Gilgamesh, discovered in the 1800 s by British archaeologists in Assyria. Let us compare the two in this essay. Differences in diction, context, and characters allow readers to see how different other cultures were, and whether or not these differences carry over into other cultures. It is no secret that things have changed since that time, somewhere around 580 1000 A.D. Cain got no good from committing that murder because the Almighty made him anathema and out of the curse of his exile there sprang ogres and elves and evil phantoms (Heaney, Seamus page 9). References to the Biblical story of Cain and Abel throughout the epic allow readers to infer that Grendel comes from a cursed bloodline. This was common during this time period, as kinship was weighed heavily in determining a person s character. In this time, it was not common to see an antagonist as complex as the hero of the story, which is why Grendel is very plainly evil. As the story progresses, there is no change in his character, and even in his defeat, it is hard for readers to sympathize with him because of this. He is constantly described as a monstrous creature, one of pure evil, which adheres to the thinking of simplistic duality present in the culture of the Anglo Saxons. Everything was simply good or evil by nature, and Grendel obviously fell under the latter. While that was considered normal for that time period, current audiences would not accept it so willingly. Our culture is one of reasoning and logic, questioning everything without simply accepting it. In the time of the epic, they simply embraced what was and demanded no explanation.
