Moving To Atlanta
I grew up and spent most of my life living up north in Waldorf, Maryland, as my mother and step
father are employed by the U.S Military. They were stationed on Andrews Air Force Base for eight
years, but in 2006 they were both moved to Robins Air Force Base, in Warner Robins, Georgia.
During this time I moved to Atlanta to live with my dad for a year, before moving to Warner Robins to
live with my mom again. Upon arriving in the small city of Warner Robins, I noticed a big difference
in the population, social life, and education.
The city of Atlanta is full of people, and is growing by the numbers everyday. A lot of people move
here for schooling, a new career, cheaper living, and for the high city lifestyle. Whereas for Warner
Robins, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only problem I had with schooling was with the curriculum, as it was harder than any other school
I had previously attended, and staffed a lot of teachers who didn t care too much about the students
education. I felt that I wouldn t be properly prepared for college, and would instead be forced into
adjusting at a community college upon graduating. Warner Robins school system in contrast was
exceptional, as there were teacher s that cared about each students progression, and there were about
25 30 students in each class. The teacher s stuck to the curriculum for each class, and they believed by
the end of each students high school experience, they would be ready for college courses. I feel that
every student needs a school system like this, but I know that not all small cities are going to be like
this, and not all large cities are going to bad school system like Atlanta.
Living in a large city was a good experience for me and taught me a lot. You can meet a lot of
interesting people, and see a lot of amusing sites for fun, social outings. Every kid or person that
moves around a lot, hopes to end up in an city like Atlanta at least once. I got that chance, with my
only bad experience coming from being enrolled in the DeKalb County School System. In the end, I
enjoy living in Atlanta, and I find the big city life a better fit for

A Good Man Is Hard For Find By Flannery O Connor
In A Good Man Is Hard to Find , Flannery O Connor presents to the readers an uncanny encounter
between a murderer named The Misfit and a grandmother. The two characters when first introduced
seem to be antithesis of each other. This misfit is described as a murderer who seems to have no
morals or feelings, while the grandmother seems to embody a good Christian woman. Throughout the
plot, it is known that the misfit is not much of a believer and the grandmother is. Due to the fact that O
Connor wrote a lot about religion, it is not hard to figure out the connection she tries to make between
the characters and religion. In A Good Man Is Hard to Find , Flannery O Connor uses both the misfit s
and the grandmother s circumstances and behavior in order to show the readers how the old and new
generations feel towards religion. Throughout the plot she uses the Misfit to portray the new
generation and uses the grandmother to portray the older generation. O Connor talks about the
generations in such ways that show that the older generations seemed to believe heavily in religion but
in the wrong way, and the new generation is misguided with little to no religious affiliations. From the
beginning, the grandmother seems to be an old fashioned southern lady who is the epitome of a good
Christian woman. She puts up a front that makes her seem like a true Christian, when in reality she is
not really strong in her beliefs up until her confrontation with the misfit. Before the

Non Fatal Violence In The Workplace
Unfortunately, workplace violence is all too familiar for most these days. Most think of violence as
some sort of physical altercation. However, it s not only physical, but includes threatening and
endangering behavior towards one, or a group of employees. In fact, you may be surprised by some of
the actions that are included in workplace violence. Some that you may not think of, but they include
and are not limited to: harassment, intimidation, extortion and threats. Obviously, things like assault,
kidnapping, homicide, etc... Nearly two million people are involved or victims of workplace violence
every year. In the United States, violence is measured with fatal and non fatal statistics. Violence has

A joint effort in to combat this can go a long way in helping to prevent workplace violence. At the end
of the day it is in the employers best interest to have a workplace that is conducive to a productive
work environment in order to get the most out of all their employees. It is also important that all
employees feel safe and as if they can go and do their job in a positive environment, because an
employee that doesn t feel safe at work is not going to be a productive one.
In the end, employers need to make employees aware that there is a zero tolerance and that any
violation will result in immediate action. Along with this, employers should also educate and work

Work Is Calculated As Force X Distance
Pg 377: Answer 1: Exerting a force does not imply that work is done. Work is calculated as Force x
Distance. Work is said to be done on an object when the force on the object causes the object to move
some distance. Ife the object does not move, no work is done immaterial of how much force is
exerted. There are many situations when force is exerted but work is not done. For example, if you
hold a piece of wood while helping in a project, effort is done to hold the wood in place, but since the
force doesn t cause the wood to move, work is not said to be done. The force has to be in the direction
of motion to require work to be done. Answer 2: The formula for calculating work is: Work (J) =
Force (N) x Distance (m) Thus, the amount of work done can be determined by multiplying Force
with Distance. Answer 3: Here two scenarios are given. a. Force of 2N moves an object 3 meters: Here
work is calculated as: W = F x D = 2N x 3m = 6 Nm (6 Joules) b. Force of 3N moves an object 2
meters: Here work is calculated as: W = F x D = 3N x 2m = 6 Nm (6 Joules) Thus, in both cases, the
work done is same, i.e. 6 Joules. Answer 4: Here, we need to move 5 large cans of paint from
basement to the second floor. Let us assume that the Force for lifting one can is 1N and the height of
one floor is 1m. Thus, the below two scenarios are taken as: a. When all the cans are lifted and taken
to second floor all at once, the calculation for work done is: W = 5N (5 cans each of 1N) x 2m (2
floors each

The Seven Years War
The Seven Years War, also known as the French and Indian War in the colonies, was the beginning of
outward conflict between the British and French over North American colonies. Most Europeans
viewed the Indians as a means to get something they wanted; they were pawns during this struggle in
North America. During the 18th century, there were many alliances and discord among the Indians and
the Europeans. The demise of many alliances was the lack of trust and suspicions of betrayal. The
Europeans were a dominating force in the French and Indian War affecting aspects of territory, trade,
and government in North America. Since the French landed along St. Lawrence River in Canada,
many became traders befriending the Native Americans and living calmly together. In 1756, Britain
and France declared war with each other transforming the hostilities in North America into a global
conflict. France and England had been enemies for generations and had already fought for power in
Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. The British and the French both set their intentions on the Forks of
the Ohio because of the popular riverside region. In early stages of the war, the British were appearing
catastrophic while the French, hopeful. The British suffered a series of defeats against the French and
their broad network of Native American alliances such as the displaced Indians, the Shawnees and the
Delawares. At this time, the Iroquois remain neutral. Later under William Pitt, the

Apple Vs. Samsung Galaxy Essay
Of all of the possible answers to the question of why Apple fans are willing to pay so much, the most
intuitive one would be to say that Apple products are simply better than the rest. This may have indeed
been the case for many of Apple s older products. The iPhone, as many remember, was revolutionary
at the time, owning around 30% of the US market share a little over a year after its release (Elmer
Dewitt 2008). Similarly, the iPad was far bigger than any of its rival tablets for years. This, however,
may not be the case anymore. As more and more products like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Microsoft
Surface have come to compete with Apple s famous products, it becomes increasingly unclear which
products are better. Yet still, apple maintains its dedicated fans. Here the hardware capabilities of
Apple s computers, phones, and tablets will be compared to that of their competition, and the software
that drives this technology will be analyzed in order to show what factor it might play in the
popularity of Apple products. Apple s oldest products are of course Mac computers. Although we see
and hear about Mac computers everywhere, from movies to commercials, the mac computer still holds
a somewhat small portion of the global PC market share. Mac computers held only 7.4% of the PC
market share in the 3rd Quarter of 2016, while other companies like Lenovo and HP each owned a
little over 20% of the market share over the same quarter (Campbell 2016). Yet still, Apple manages to

Vitamin D Supplementation
Multiple Sclerosis is a disease which affects neurons in the central nervous system. It erodes the
myelin sheath that covers the axons of the neurons. As such, the transmission of nerve signals does not
occur as efficiently as it should. The myelin sheath gets disintegrated due to an autoimmune disease,
where the immune system attacks its own tissue rather than foreign tissue.
Research conducted shows that there is a correlation between multiple sclerosis and people s
geographical location. People who live closer to the equator are less likely to get multiple sclerosis,
whereas people who live further away from the equator have a greater chance of getting it. One reason
for this explanation is that sunlight is rich in Vitamin D and there is more sunlight near the equator,
compared to areas further away from the equator. As a result, lack of Vitamin D may be responsible
for the onset of multiple sclerosis.
If a person is deficient in Vitamin D, they may have a greater chance of getting this disease. One area
of key interest is that in patients who have this disease, can enhancing the uptake of Vitamin D

Oil has become extremely vital in our society, so vital that it has affected developed and developing
countries. It is a massive contributor to economic growth as well as environmental destruction. The
Alberta Oil Sands has destroyed acres of local ecosystems, but has also achieved and ensured that
Canada stays as an economic power. The economical, cultural, and political benefits the oil sands give
to Canada makes it an asset they can not function without. The oil sands have been Canada s major
contributor to their economic activity for many years. The oil industry has led to benefits for other
industries such as business services, manufacturing, retail, finance and insurance. The impacts of the
oil sands economically can also be seen in the national employment rates and statistics. People are
immigrating from countries outside of Canada and other regions of Canada to move to Alberta in
order to get high paying jobs from the development of the oil sands. Recently Canada s cost for oil has

Analysis Of The Book The Time Machine
Adeline G. Phillips

May 7, 2016
Introduction
The best selling novel, The Time Machine, is written by H.G. Wells. H.G. Wells is also known as The
Father of Science Fiction. Wells has written many books that has influenced our vision of the future,
The Time Machine, being his first and foremost novel. The Time Machine is the story of the Time
Traveler who invents the machine, his adventures while traveling, and his recounting of the tale to the
narrator and friends gathered in his home.
Key Idea 1 The beginning of the book is very intriguing, pulling readers into the book and making
them want to read more. The book begins in the Time Traveler s home, where he and his guests are
having dinner and discussing his theories about time and time travel. When the Time Traveler tells the
guests he can actually do it, they are skeptical. The Time Traveler s colleagues bombard him with
protestations and thought provoking questions. This part of the book makes the reader wonder what
the outcome of time traveling might be but it is obvious that the Time Traveler wholeheartedly
believes in time travel.
Key Idea 2 In a moment my hand was on the lever and I had placed a month between myself and these
monsters. What a classic, wonderfully imaginative science fiction sentence. The story is completely
and utterly engrossing. The fact that the book was published in 1895 and science lovers can still love
and appreciate this book and H.G. Wells

Influential Ideas For Protestant Theology
John Calvin was the son of bourgeois parents in Picardy, France (Brophy, 431). First, he studied at the
University of Paris to obtain a Master of the Arts degree, and then he went on to study law at OrlĂŠans,
where he received a doctorate of law (Brophy, 431). When he converted to Protestantism he was
forced to flee Paris and eventually ended up in Geneva, Switzerland, where he wrote his Draft of
Ecclesiastical Ordinances, along with many other significant writings (Brophy, 432). This document is
a primary source because John Calvin wrote it in 1541 in Geneva (Brophy, 432). Calvin wrote this
draft in order to educate people about the reforms he desired to see in the church throughout England
(Brophy, 432). His writings were one of the most influential ideas for Protestant theology (Cole, 318).
When Calvin converted to Protestantism, he wanted to create reforms within the church so that there
was proper structure for both the church and government (Cole, 319). The best way for him to get the
reforms he wanted was to write them down, which he did in the Draft of Ecclesiastical Ordinances.
Calvin s Draft of Ecclesiastical Ordinances is about the structure of the church and government he
wished to see (Brophy, 434). Unlike our government today, Calvin did not see a need for separation of
church and state. Calvin s ideal government was one that was tied directly to the church, and the
church officials would also be the government officials. The draft includes the duties,

During the time period of this novel, the culture and images being pushed upon people depicts
relationships of no complexity or affection (Magill, ed. 253). Falling in love is one of life s greatest
pleasures and the government has taken that away. Montag and Mille even fall victim to this with their
marriage, in fact, they do not even know how they met (Bradbury 45). This seems to bother Montag
but Millie, who is more naive and has been completely brainwashed by the government, sees it as no
big deal whatsoever. In fact, Mille seems to have seen it as a joke, which was apparent when she

somewhat of a barrier between her and Montag (Bradbury 47). If it were not for Millie s government

as both of them refer to the actors and actresses on the screens as family (47). One would expect only
Millie to be guilty of this but Montag, who slightly rejected the ways of society, ...had taken to calling

Millie s ability to think and remember simple events has been lessened by her excessive watching of
television. One day, Montag had asked Millie what show she was watching and what it was about, but,
even though she was watching it only a minute earlier, Millie was having an extremely hard time

Ramat Rahel Region Analysis
Terraces have long been considered to be one of the agricultural marvels of the human past. Existing
since the time of the Old World, terracing has increased the surface area of viable farmland while
helping to reduce soil erosion and limit water loss (Davidovich et al. 2012:192). Recently, scientists
have been aiming to discover more about past human settlements through the excavation and dating of
terraces using complex soil dating techniques. One such excavation project is located in the Ramat
Rahel region of Israel, where scientists have been attempting to set a time period for the terraces that
define the agricultural landscape of the area. In order to accurately and efficiently put a date on these
pastoral marvels, archaeologists use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Location itself played a significant role. The Holocene stream terraces are located along the San Pedro
River on a major floodplain. The flooding of the San Pedro and its two main tributaries combined with
the local precipitation levels causes the terraces to inevitably experience local erosion of bars and
infilling of swales (Onken et al. 2014:22). The dry climate of the Ramat Rahel region allows for the
terraces to remain, for the most part, out of contact with water that might erode the rock and sediment
and destroy possible archaeological finds. Differences in the main type of dating used also led to
differences in degree of accuracy. In Ramat Rahel, the primary test used was OSL dating. The
consistency of the results from all the land samples along with the formation of logical age clusters
upon further comparison testif[ies] to the direct relationship between the placement of the terrace fill,
wherever it is sourced, and the bleaching of the quartz within the sediments (Davidovich et al.
2012:203 204). The accuracy of the OSL results gave scientists fairly certain date approximations,
especially when compared to the results of the Holocene terrace dating. In the Holocene, radiometric
dating was used as the primary method; it provided broader dates and time ranges than did the OSL

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Board Games
2.6 The Disadvantages of Board Game
According to Dewar (2009, p. 15), there are many disadvantages of using board game in the
classroom. Firstly, most people play with house rules. Each board game has its own set of rules. So,
while playing students would probably use the old or normal rules to play that cause the game to last
much longer than it should be. Secondly, in board games they have player elimination. Meaning that
players who lost or are unlucky can get kicked out of the game early. Thirdly, playing board games is
too dependent on luck. Players will just have to roll dice and the number that face upwards decides
how many steps they players should go. That might lead to winning or losing of the game.
Nextly, board games doesn t scale well to the number of players. Four players seem to be ideal but it is
impossible for teachers to prepare 10 same board games for a class of 40 students. Besides that,
another disadvantage of board game is that players takes too long and 2 players is completely
pointless. This is because if 2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Speech On Being A Terrible Dancer
I stood in fear in front of hundreds of people, and the entire time I could feel them judging me for
being a terrible dancer. I remember it vividly. Never in my life had I felt so embarrassed, so
unconfident in my skills. In my childhood, I was always praised for being an extremely good dancer
but now, at such an important moment of my life, my skills betrayed me and the tables turned. Every
time I heard the sound of laughter from the audience it felt as though they were laughing at me. In one
day, in a single hour, on a single stage I experienced my worst nightmare. To become a laughingstock
at my school, reduced from a popular girl to a dorky clown who is just there for people to laugh at, it
was unbearable to think. As I was dancing horribly, it happened, I fell.
It was September 3, 2006 and I was only in grade six. Every year our school held an annual cultural
night. The event showcased singing, dancing, a drama, and an award ceremony. That year I was
chosen to dance. As I already had an existing reputation for dancing well, I was an appropriate choice
for the event. The dance I chose to do was complicated in itself but I wanted to take it one step further
by adding my own twist to it. The dance consisted of traditional Bengali dance followed by a small
contemporary piece and then finished by a combination of Salsa and Tango. I chose these dance forms
because I was trained for many years in these arts.
On the night of the performance quite a few excellent performances

Environmental Quality and Biofuels
Environmental Quality
The use of biofuels as mandated by RFS.2 has a net positive impact on environmental quality. One of
the key reasons for the adoption of this program was to provide an alternative to fossil fuels that could
offer better energy efficiency and lower green house gas emissions. The environmental quality has
been analyzed through four criteria much like in the report by Ackom, Mabee and Saddler (2010).
These are: Greenhouse gas emissions, Energy use, Water use and Land Use Change.
Energy use: In their report Ackom, Mabee and Saddler (2010) state that the energy use is primarily
defined by the electric energy that goes into the bioconversion process. This analysis considers
efficiency in production and manufacturing process. According to this, biofuels (both 1st and 2nd
generations) are reducing considerable amount of energy used in the extraction and manufacturing
process as compared to non renewable resources. Roughly evaluated values of energy saving of some
of the common biofuels are noted as follows (relative to fossil fuels): sugarcane (89%), switch grass
(85%), wood (82%), soybean (45%), corn (43%), wheat (42%). These figures are very promising and
continue to ameliorate as technology, and research and development improves.
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: When tested to compare the GHG emissions, biofuels preform
much better than conventional fuels. However, within the biofuel spectrum there is a range of
efficiencies. For example, the according to

Implementing Generic And Generic Drugs
INTRODUCTION
Over the last few years, the United States Supreme Court has struggled to determine when a
manufacturer is liable, and should be held accountable, for violating the duty to warn consumers about
the dangers associated with brand and generic drugs through their labeling. Further, the Court has
grappled with determining which channels are available to consumers when a drug manufacturer
breaches their duty. With the swarm of inconsistencies set forth by the Court in each newly decided
case, and a proposed rule regarding generic changes being effected preparing to take effect Fall 2015,
it is difficult to determine if the necessary guidance for drug manufacturers and consumers has been
provided.

Second, laws such as the learned intermediary doctrine state, and courts have widely held, that a
prescription drug manufacturer s duty to warn runs to the physician, the learned intermediary , not
directly to the patient. Only one state, New Mexico, has rejected the doctrine calling it outdated due to
the recent increase in direct to consumer marketing. The Court has struggled to define the distinction,
if any, between generic and branded drugs in terms of state tort liability and failure to warn claims. In
Wyeth v. Levine, the Court decided that the FDA s drug labeling requirements for brand drugs do not
preempt state tort claims related to the dissemination of safety information. In essence, brand name
manufacturers will be held liable for failure to update their warning labels in an effective and efficient
manner. Just two short years later, the Court contradicts its decision in Wyeth, and defines a distinction
for generic drug products, which applies federal preemption principles in Pliva v. Mensing. Finally, in
Mutual Pharamceutical v. Bartlett, the Court effectively barred generic failure to warn, and defective
design claims in state courts. Currently, under state law, generic drug product

Global Warming Essay example
Global warming has many pro s or people who believe global warming exists not because it is a good
thing. People who believe global warming exists and want to fix the problem as soon as possible
because it may cause a catastrophe. Al Gore and the IPCC are the main people who believe global
warming may change our lives and sometimes create an illusion that it is our fault. There are many
examples that it may be so like a hot summer in Edmonton, no negative temperature days in Glasgow,
Montana however, other phenomenon like record snowfalls contradicts the existence of global
warming. Even still many more occurrences that suggest global warming is real are: a 1998 heat wave
in Florida, 1999 heat waves that set record highs, thawing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the contrary others believe global warming is non existent. They believe it is normal activity and
the temperature will go back down sometime. As shown in Al Gore s hockey stick , they may be
exaggerating the truth. (See appendix 2) It also shows that the temperature was at its warmest in the
1000 s and from then up to just before now the temperature has decreased. In the last few years it has
risen like it has many times before. Many of these people believe it is a scam or a hoax. One thing I
found was on my list of evidence of global warming that some evidence was heavy rainfall but that
doesn t necessarily mean that the earth is warming. One example of the opposition to global warming
is when one of my sources said: Shame on you, Al Gore, for playing on people s emotions to drive
support for your enormous $45 trillion carbon tax hoax. (I love C02). Many usually mild cities during
winter were cooler than usual this year. A large amount of snow fell on D.C. and cancelled a meeting
for global warming. Even still Al Gore still preaches that global warming exists and that we are at
fault. When many of the world s highest experienced scientists and others got together in New York to
discuss global warming. Another thing found out about global warming is that it is about politics and
money. The cap and trade would place a tax on things like driving automobiles and using

Analysis Of The Book French Photography 1800-1960
The Barnes Foundation s newest exhibition, French Photography 1800 1960, is a collection of
photographs that encapsulates life in France during the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibit features
photographs by artists including Ilse Bing, Brassai, and Henri Cartier Bresson. Entering into the
exhibit is like taking a trip through time; depending on if you turn left or right at the entrance to the
exhibit, you can travel forward through time from the early to the mid 1900s or you can travel
backwards. The exhibit is organized by eight different periods and the attitudes that were most
prevalent during them. The categories are: Paris and Environs, Street Life, Commerce, Labor, Leisure,
Reportage, Celebrity, and Art for Art s Sake. The exhibit is an enlightening trip through time,
highlighting the glamorable life in France in the 19th and 20th centuries, bringing to life artistic
movements, culminating in the final intersection of cubism and photography, Brassai s piece
Transmutation: Girl Dreaming being perhaps the brightest star in the collection. Unlike other exhibits
in the Barnes, French Photography is unique in its medium. Photographs are fresh and different from
the Barnes usual paintings. It is also different in the Barnes treatment of the pieces. Main installments
at the Barnes are hung on the walls as if they were in someone s living room but a black line drawn
through every room prevents any viewer from getting to close to the works of art. However, the

The Pros And Cons Of Bioethics
In healthcare, bioethics is studied to improve patient outcomes and treatment. Research is conducted
by bioethicists on ethical, social, and legal issues that have come about in biomedicine (National
Institute of Health). Since the beginning of time, much knowledge has been gained through
experimentation. Healthcare is an everchanging field in which experimentation is a key aspect. Some
research can be done without using humans as test subjects, however, others must be tested on
humans. The primary purpose of medical research involving human subjects is to understand the
causes, development and effects or diseases and improve preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic
interventions (World Medical Association). Accordingly, there are fundamental boundaries that should
be respected, relating to the principles of beneficence, nonmaleficence, autonomy, and justice. The
World Medical Association (WMA) originally adopted the Declaration of Helsinki in 1964, which
protects the ethical principles involving human subjects. It serves as a statement of ethical principles
for medical research involving human subjects, as well as research on discernable human substance
and data. The document provides guidelines to ensure that the life, well being, dignity, integrity,
privacy, autonomy, and confidentiality of subjects are protected (WMA). Though the declaration is not
a legal document, it has been integrated into laws governing medical research across the world. Before

was a person who spoke out for the rights of farmworkers in America so they would have equal rights.

Hispanic members. His public relations approach to unionism and aggressive but nonviolent tactics
made the farm workers struggle a moral cause with nationwide support. By the late 1970s, his tactics

Essay on Newfound Popularity of Books From the 1900 s
How many books were published from 1920 to 1959? 792 and that s only the bestsellers. Four of the
books published within this time frame weren t bestsellers, but they are some of the most famous

  • 2. Moving To Atlanta I grew up and spent most of my life living up north in Waldorf, Maryland, as my mother and step father are employed by the U.S Military. They were stationed on Andrews Air Force Base for eight years, but in 2006 they were both moved to Robins Air Force Base, in Warner Robins, Georgia. During this time I moved to Atlanta to live with my dad for a year, before moving to Warner Robins to live with my mom again. Upon arriving in the small city of Warner Robins, I noticed a big difference in the population, social life, and education. The city of Atlanta is full of people, and is growing by the numbers everyday. A lot of people move here for schooling, a new career, cheaper living, and for the high city lifestyle. Whereas for Warner Robins, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only problem I had with schooling was with the curriculum, as it was harder than any other school I had previously attended, and staffed a lot of teachers who didn t care too much about the students education. I felt that I wouldn t be properly prepared for college, and would instead be forced into adjusting at a community college upon graduating. Warner Robins school system in contrast was exceptional, as there were teacher s that cared about each students progression, and there were about 25 30 students in each class. The teacher s stuck to the curriculum for each class, and they believed by the end of each students high school experience, they would be ready for college courses. I feel that every student needs a school system like this, but I know that not all small cities are going to be like this, and not all large cities are going to bad school system like Atlanta. Living in a large city was a good experience for me and taught me a lot. You can meet a lot of interesting people, and see a lot of amusing sites for fun, social outings. Every kid or person that moves around a lot, hopes to end up in an city like Atlanta at least once. I got that chance, with my only bad experience coming from being enrolled in the DeKalb County School System. In the end, I enjoy living in Atlanta, and I find the big city life a better fit for ... • 3. A Good Man Is Hard For Find By Flannery O Connor In A Good Man Is Hard to Find , Flannery O Connor presents to the readers an uncanny encounter between a murderer named The Misfit and a grandmother. The two characters when first introduced seem to be antithesis of each other. This misfit is described as a murderer who seems to have no morals or feelings, while the grandmother seems to embody a good Christian woman. Throughout the plot, it is known that the misfit is not much of a believer and the grandmother is. Due to the fact that O Connor wrote a lot about religion, it is not hard to figure out the connection she tries to make between the characters and religion. In A Good Man Is Hard to Find , Flannery O Connor uses both the misfit s and the grandmother s circumstances and behavior in order to show the readers how the old and new generations feel towards religion. Throughout the plot she uses the Misfit to portray the new generation and uses the grandmother to portray the older generation. O Connor talks about the generations in such ways that show that the older generations seemed to believe heavily in religion but in the wrong way, and the new generation is misguided with little to no religious affiliations. From the beginning, the grandmother seems to be an old fashioned southern lady who is the epitome of a good Christian woman. She puts up a front that makes her seem like a true Christian, when in reality she is not really strong in her beliefs up until her confrontation with the misfit. Before the ... • 6. Work Is Calculated As Force X Distance Pg 377: Answer 1: Exerting a force does not imply that work is done. Work is calculated as Force x Distance. Work is said to be done on an object when the force on the object causes the object to move some distance. Ife the object does not move, no work is done immaterial of how much force is exerted. There are many situations when force is exerted but work is not done. For example, if you hold a piece of wood while helping in a project, effort is done to hold the wood in place, but since the force doesn t cause the wood to move, work is not said to be done. The force has to be in the direction of motion to require work to be done. Answer 2: The formula for calculating work is: Work (J) = Force (N) x Distance (m) Thus, the amount of work done can be determined by multiplying Force with Distance. Answer 3: Here two scenarios are given. a. Force of 2N moves an object 3 meters: Here work is calculated as: W = F x D = 2N x 3m = 6 Nm (6 Joules) b. Force of 3N moves an object 2 meters: Here work is calculated as: W = F x D = 3N x 2m = 6 Nm (6 Joules) Thus, in both cases, the work done is same, i.e. 6 Joules. Answer 4: Here, we need to move 5 large cans of paint from basement to the second floor. Let us assume that the Force for lifting one can is 1N and the height of one floor is 1m. Thus, the below two scenarios are taken as: a. When all the cans are lifted and taken to second floor all at once, the calculation for work done is: W = 5N (5 cans each of 1N) x 2m (2 floors each ... • 7. The Seven Years War The Seven Years War, also known as the French and Indian War in the colonies, was the beginning of outward conflict between the British and French over North American colonies. Most Europeans viewed the Indians as a means to get something they wanted; they were pawns during this struggle in North America. During the 18th century, there were many alliances and discord among the Indians and the Europeans. The demise of many alliances was the lack of trust and suspicions of betrayal. The Europeans were a dominating force in the French and Indian War affecting aspects of territory, trade, and government in North America. Since the French landed along St. Lawrence River in Canada, many became traders befriending the Native Americans and living calmly together. In 1756, Britain and France declared war with each other transforming the hostilities in North America into a global conflict. France and England had been enemies for generations and had already fought for power in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. The British and the French both set their intentions on the Forks of the Ohio because of the popular riverside region. In early stages of the war, the British were appearing catastrophic while the French, hopeful. The British suffered a series of defeats against the French and their broad network of Native American alliances such as the displaced Indians, the Shawnees and the Delawares. • 8. Apple Vs. Samsung Galaxy Essay Of all of the possible answers to the question of why Apple fans are willing to pay so much, the most intuitive one would be to say that Apple products are simply better than the rest. This may have indeed been the case for many of Apple s older products. The iPhone, as many remember, was revolutionary at the time, owning around 30% of the US market share a little over a year after its release (Elmer Dewitt 2008). Similarly, the iPad was far bigger than any of its rival tablets for years. This, however, may not be the case anymore. As more and more products like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Microsoft Surface have come to compete with Apple s famous products, it becomes increasingly unclear which products are better. Yet still, apple maintains its dedicated fans. Here the hardware capabilities of Apple s computers, phones, and tablets will be compared to that of their competition, and the software that drives this technology will be analyzed in order to show what factor it might play in the popularity of Apple products. Apple s oldest products are of course Mac computers. Although we see and hear about Mac computers everywhere, from movies to commercials, the mac computer still holds a somewhat small portion of the global PC market share. Mac computers held only 7.4% of the PC market share in the 3rd Quarter of 2016, while other companies like Lenovo and HP each owned a little over 20% of the market share over the same quarter (Campbell 2016). Yet still, Apple manages to grab a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Vitamin D Supplementation Multiple Sclerosis is a disease which affects neurons in the central nervous system. It erodes the myelin sheath that covers the axons of the neurons. As such, the transmission of nerve signals does not occur as efficiently as it should. The myelin sheath gets disintegrated due to an autoimmune disease, where the immune system attacks its own tissue rather than foreign tissue. Research conducted shows that there is a correlation between multiple sclerosis and people s geographical location. People who live closer to the equator are less likely to get multiple sclerosis, whereas people who live further away from the equator have a greater chance of getting it. One reason for this explanation is that sunlight is rich in Vitamin D and there is more sunlight near the equator, compared to areas further away from the equator. As a result, lack of Vitamin D may be responsible for the onset of multiple sclerosis. If a person is deficient in Vitamin D, they may have a greater chance of getting this disease. • 13. Influential Ideas For Protestant Theology John Calvin was the son of bourgeois parents in Picardy, France (Brophy, 431). First, he studied at the University of Paris to obtain a Master of the Arts degree, and then he went on to study law at OrlĂŠans, where he received a doctorate of law (Brophy, 431). When he converted to Protestantism he was forced to flee Paris and eventually ended up in Geneva, Switzerland, where he wrote his Draft of Ecclesiastical Ordinances, along with many other significant writings (Brophy, 432). This document is a primary source because John Calvin wrote it in 1541 in Geneva (Brophy, 432). Calvin wrote this draft in order to educate people about the reforms he desired to see in the church throughout England (Brophy, 432). His writings were one of the most influential ideas for Protestant theology (Cole, 318). When Calvin converted to Protestantism, he wanted to create reforms within the church so that there was proper structure for both the church and government (Cole, 319). The best way for him to get the reforms he wanted was to write them down, which he did in the Draft of Ecclesiastical Ordinances. Calvin s Draft of Ecclesiastical Ordinances is about the structure of the church and government he wished to see (Brophy, 434). Unlike our government today, Calvin did not see a need for separation of church and state. Calvin s ideal government was one that was tied directly to the church, and the church officials would also be the government officials. The draft includes the duties, ... Falling in love is one of life s greatest pleasures and the government has taken that away. Montag and Mille even fall victim to this with their marriage, in fact, they do not even know how they met (Bradbury 45). This seems to bother Montag but Millie, who is more naive and has been completely brainwashed by the government, sees it as no big deal whatsoever. If it were not for Millie s government influenced obsession, Montag and Millie might have had the oppritunity to have a very loving marriage. The programs that were being shown also skewed both Montag and Millie s ideas of family as both of them refer to the actors and actresses on the screens as family (47). One would expect only Millie to be guilty of this but Montag, who slightly rejected the ways of society, ...had taken to calling them family from the very first (47). In addition to having her basic ideas of love and affection altered, Millie s ability to think and remember simple events has been lessened by her excessive watching of television. Existing since the time of the Old World, terracing has increased the surface area of viable farmland while helping to reduce soil erosion and limit water loss (Davidovich et al. 2012:192). Recently, scientists have been aiming to discover more about past human settlements through the excavation and dating of terraces using complex soil dating techniques. One such excavation project is located in the Ramat Rahel region of Israel, where scientists have been attempting to set a time period for the terraces that define the agricultural landscape of the area. In order to accurately and efficiently put a date on these pastoral marvels, archaeologists use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Location itself played a significant role. The Holocene stream terraces are located along the San Pedro River on a major floodplain. The flooding of the San Pedro and its two main tributaries combined with the local precipitation levels causes the terraces to inevitably experience local erosion of bars and infilling of swales (Onken et al. 2014:22). The dry climate of the Ramat Rahel region allows for the terraces to remain, for the most part, out of contact with water that might erode the rock and sediment and destroy possible archaeological finds. Differences in the main type of dating used also led to differences in degree of accuracy. In Ramat Rahel, the primary test used was OSL dating. The consistency of the results from all the land samples along with the formation of logical age clusters upon further comparison testif[ies] to the direct relationship between the placement of the terrace fill, wherever it is sourced, and the bleaching of the quartz within the sediments (Davidovich et al. 2012:203 204). • 19. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Board Games 2.6 The Disadvantages of Board Game According to Dewar (2009, p. 15), there are many disadvantages of using board game in the classroom. Firstly, most people play with house rules. Each board game has its own set of rules. So, while playing students would probably use the old or normal rules to play that cause the game to last much longer than it should be. Secondly, in board games they have player elimination. Under this proposed constitutional amendment, a Commission on Judicial Selection would be created with the task of recommending candidates to the governor for the appointment of open judicial seats. After the governor appoints the candidate to that position, that candidate would have to run for a retention election in two years. • 23. A Speech On Being A Terrible Dancer I stood in fear in front of hundreds of people, and the entire time I could feel them judging me for being a terrible dancer. I remember it vividly. Never in my life had I felt so embarrassed, so unconfident in my skills. In my childhood, I was always praised for being an extremely good dancer but now, at such an important moment of my life, my skills betrayed me and the tables turned. Every time I heard the sound of laughter from the audience it felt as though they were laughing at me. In one day, in a single hour, on a single stage I experienced my worst nightmare. To become a laughingstock at my school, reduced from a popular girl to a dorky clown who is just there for people to laugh at, it was unbearable to think. As I was dancing horribly, it happened, I fell. It was September 3, 2006 and I was only in grade six. Every year our school held an annual cultural night. The event showcased singing, dancing, a drama, and an award ceremony. That year I was chosen to dance. As I already had an existing reputation for dancing well, I was an appropriate choice for the event. The dance I chose to do was complicated in itself but I wanted to take it one step further by adding my own twist to it. The dance consisted of traditional Bengali dance followed by a small contemporary piece and then finished by a combination of Salsa and Tango. I chose these dance forms because I was trained for many years in these arts. On the night of the performance quite a few excellent performances ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the key reasons for the adoption of this program was to provide an alternative to fossil fuels that could offer better energy efficiency and lower green house gas emissions. The environmental quality has been analyzed through four criteria much like in the report by Ackom, Mabee and Saddler (2010). These are: Greenhouse gas emissions, Energy use, Water use and Land Use Change. Energy use: In their report Ackom, Mabee and Saddler (2010) state that the energy use is primarily defined by the electric energy that goes into the bioconversion process. This analysis considers efficiency in production and manufacturing process. According to this, biofuels (both 1st and 2nd generations) are reducing considerable amount of energy used in the extraction and manufacturing process as compared to non renewable resources. Roughly evaluated values of energy saving of some of the common biofuels are noted as follows (relative to fossil fuels): sugarcane (89%), switch grass (85%), wood (82%), soybean (45%), corn (43%), wheat (42%). These figures are very promising and continue to ameliorate as technology, and research and development improves. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: When tested to compare the GHG emissions, biofuels preform much better than conventional fuels. However, within the biofuel spectrum there is a range of efficiencies. The exhibit features photographs by artists including Ilse Bing, Brassai, and Henri Cartier Bresson. Entering into the exhibit is like taking a trip through time; depending on if you turn left or right at the entrance to the exhibit, you can travel forward through time from the early to the mid 1900s or you can travel backwards. Research is conducted by bioethicists on ethical, social, and legal issues that have come about in biomedicine (National Institute of Health). Since the beginning of time, much knowledge has been gained through experimentation. Healthcare is an everchanging field in which experimentation is a key aspect. Some research can be done without using humans as test subjects, however, others must be tested on humans. The primary purpose of medical research involving human subjects is to understand the causes, development and effects or diseases and improve preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions (World Medical Association). Accordingly, there are fundamental boundaries that should be respected, relating to the principles of beneficence, nonmaleficence, autonomy, and justice. The World Medical Association (WMA) originally adopted the Declaration of Helsinki in 1964, which protects the ethical principles involving human subjects.
