If I Were A Triffid Analysis
Literature Circle
If I was a Triffid, I would do many things that the Triffids did not do in the pages we read. The
things I would do if I was a Triffid is kill all the humans. I would also gather up other Triffids and
form a large group with other Triffids and I would also invade all the buildings in the area. To start,
if I was a Triffid, I would kill all the humans in the world.
If I was a Triffid, I would try to kill as much as humans as I possibly could in order to stay alive.
The reason I would try to kill all the Triffids is because humans can make and have very deadly
weapons such as shotguns, nuclear bombs, machine guns, missiles and more. So if I tried to kill
all the humans ,blind and not blind, there would be a result of no dangerous threat to Triffids
and I, so we could roam around freely. Also, because Triffids are carnivorous and I am a Triffid,
I could only survive by eating meat and flesh, and there is about seven billion humans so humans
could be a superior source of food. The last reason I would kill all the humans because if all the
humans were gone, Triffids could be the leaders of the land and rule everything, so Triffids would
be respected by other creatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason I would do that is so the humans would not have anything to collect from the store and
would eventually die which would be easier than killing humans. Not only if we invade all the
store just to kill humans but to use the equipment for ourselves like canned meat and things like
that. Also, invading all the buildings means we could use it for shelter, like a house. In summation
this is why I would invade all the buildings.
In conclusion, this is what I would do many things that the Triffids did not do in the pages we
read. The things I would do if I was a Triffid is kill all the humans, gather up other Triffids and

Emergency Department Nurses
Introduction
Title: Relationship between occupational violence, burnout and intention to leave in emergency
department nurses in Western Australia
The motivation for this research direction and area of investigation stemmed from my personal
experiences as a final year nursing student in a busy emergency department in a metropolitan
hospital in Western Australia. Anecdotally and personal observation wise, the level of stress,
disillusionment and discontentment amongst the staff in a busy and demanding environment
where violence or threat of violence was experienced or witnessed on a daily basis was significantly
higher when compared with earlier practicum experiences in other departments. This served as an
inspiration to further investigate the extent of occupational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The approach for this particular research was adapted from the dissertation project of Christensson
(2014) to increase knowledge of the relationship between emergency department violence, burnout
experienced by the nurses and eventual motivation to quit. I endeavour to explore the relationship
between these elements in the context of Western Australian emergency department as the social
and cultural demographics, the profile of acute presentations, the advent of alcohol and drug
cases that are a significant cause of workplace violence and level of security and deterrence to
violence vary from the place of abovementioned research in New Jersey, United States of America
to the state of Western Australia. Research has identified burnout and high attrition rate as a result
of workplace violence, but there is a dearth of studies that have delved deeper into the
interconnectedness of these elements specific to a Western Australia context. The purpose of this
proposal is to fill this gap in the

Myths, Morals, And Rules
Life is a series of life lessons, morals, and rules that we all live by and learn through every
decision we make. A way these lessons, morals, and rules are shown and told is through myths.
A myth is a traditional story from a certain ethnic, religion, place, or culture, and explains how
and why things are the way they are. Myths also incorporate a moral, theme, or life lesson, which
becomes clear at the end of the story. As a child I m sure you ve heard stories from your family
whether a more unknown myth or common tale that you got something out of, whether it was
learning something new, or something you already knew that simply got reinforced. But if you re
like me, then it ll take some time before you remember. Once I did remember the... Show more

Also, my grandpa and Aunty Paning lived in Ilocos Norte, while my grandma lived in Manila,
they were 407.64km, 253.31mi apart and they were still told the same myths, with the exception
of a few details. Furthermore, another person who has heard this myth from past generations is
Sonia Jackson, who was a senior at Tennessee University in 2008. Sonia Jacksons grandmother
Dr. Natividad Corrales Taboada told her daughter, Maria Jackson, Sonia s mother, who then told
Sonia and her siblings the story. There is also a controversy of whether the myth was created
before or after the Spanish invasion, but it s difficult to know for sure. As you can see this myth
is probably very old, to have gone through at least eighty two years, it could easily have existed for
a century.
Usually, Filipino myths are passed down through words spoken and are grouped into four main
groups. The first are myths that explain the creation of the universe, god (Bathala or Maykapal),
the origin of man, supernatural beings and the native Filipino heroes. Second, are legends that tell
the origin of a local phenomenon, places, plants, animals, thoughts, and names. Third, are fables
where animals or inanimate beings are made to speak and act like rational beings to point out
morals, this is the group the myth falls into, but also has aspects from the second group because

Meritocracy In Dave Egger s The Circle
Character is who you are in the dark. In the book, The Circle, the author Dave Egger talks about
the details of different myths in American society. One of those myth are meritocracy.
Meritocracy is a system that allows people to advance in life based on their quality of being
especificly worthy or good. This means that if a person demonstrates qualities that are viewed as
virtuous in society (merit) . In other words, they will rise above others in the group. The novelhas
some aspect of the story that touches on the myth of meritocracy. If someone has to convince or
threaten another individual to be honest even though the individual is not truly honest, then the
system of meritocracy becomes a myth . This is the problem with the main character,... Show more

The first day of work she sees how beautiful the campus is and how it is filed with fun activities.
For example, the tennis and volleyball courts, the fountain, the space of the children from day
care center, are all so perfect and beautiful in the eyes of Mae. When she sees all these wonders,
by explaining her point of view, she makes the reader feel like she is in heaven because this
place was beyond her imagination. She starts to work in the customer service section answering
customer questions and creating reports. Her routine is evaluated and reorganized after each
contact, and her score can rise or fall for all to see. On the first day her score was the highest.
Quickly, she becomes a winner in The Circle. This proves that when people have determination,
anything can be possible. In the same way, sometimes people have problems, and that they can
discourage themselves. However, Mae proves that when people desire to have positive changes
in their lives, they just need to work hard and find the right people to help them. It might be
difficult at the beginning, however, if people keep working hard they are going to eventually
have positive results. For example, according to the article, Making It In America author Adam
Davidson claims As workers become more productive, they should be able to demand higher
salaries (pag.339). In other words, if people are available to learn more in their jobs, there will
be more chances to be more successful as they continue to learn. Similar to what happen to Mae
in her first of work: she is rewarded by having the highest score. Analyzing Mae can be used to
demonstrate how easy it is to be sucked into a world of success, where even though she is
successful, it does not mean that she is happy. In other words, success might mean different things
to different people. It creates a

The Development of Jazz in South Africa
On June 19, 1890 South Africans came into contact with African American music for the first
time. This contact came when Orpheus McAdoo s Virginia Jubilee Singers. Orpheus McAdoo, a
graduate of Hampton Institute, now known as Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia joined
five members of the original Fisk Jubilee Singers, an African American a capella group from
Fisk University and began to tour places such as Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. When he
returned to the U.S., he added four members to the minstrel troupe and in 1890 they found
themselves in Cape Town, South Africa. Their tour in Cape Town was extremely successful and
they forever left an impact on South African culture in the form of a Carnival that takes place
each year. Kaapse Klopse, formerly known as the Coon Carnival takes place on January 2nd each
year. Minstrel troupes gather in District 6 and take part in a parade and various competions.
Various genres of music are represented in the Kaapse Klopse but one genre has been apart of the
festivsal since its early beginnings, South African Jazz. As the jazz tradition was developing in the
United States through the cross fertilization of African and African American culture, this jazz
music would eventually reach all the way to South Africa. During the late18th Century in New
Orleans (then controlled by Spain), every Sunday, slaves would gather at the Place des Negres, or
Congo Square. In Congo Square, slaves were allowed to bring musical instruments and

Sexually transmitted infections are a very current, modern day health care issue. These infections
are passed during unprotected genital, anal or oral sex. There are sometimes symptoms of the
various infections however there are some infections that can also be symptom free and therefore
can go undetected for quite some time. Young people in the UK typically aged 15 24 have the
highest rates of sexually transmitted infections. There is a link between this age group and those
living in socioeconomically deprived areas, suggesting these particular regions need better and
easier access to healthcare services in order to detect, treat and avoid further spreading and damage
caused by the infections. Raising awareness of the causes of each infection and symptoms is vital.

A Serious Problem Of Testicular Cancer
A serious problem that exists among the Maori population in some areas of N.Z. is testicular
(teste) cancer. It affects young men from all backgrounds and there is little research on what risk
factors there are. The encyclopaedia Britannica online defines teste cancer as a disease
characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells within the testis, the reproductive organ that produces
sperm. Testicular cancerrepresents only 1 percent of all cancers in males, but it is the most
common malignancy for men between ages 15 and 35. 1 Whether or not teste cancer is the most
serious health problem among Maori arguable and additional health related problems should be
discussed. First of all, testicular cancer is one of the most crippling diseases creating significant
damage on patient and family. Additionally, the discrepancy between Maori and Pakeha diagnosis
of testicular cancer is a cause for concern. Contrariwise a lack of knowledge on the difference
between Maori and Pakeha psychology and the way Psychologist/Psychiatrist deal with Maori
patients. Finally, there is general reluctance for Maori to seek mental healthwhich leads to
difference between diagnosis and treatment.
Firstly, the mental and physical anguish that surrounds testicular cancer is so significant because
it is the most common cancer affecting men between the ages of 15 and 39, but it is not limited to
this age range. However, young men typically do not get a lot of cancer, so overall testicular cancer

Personal Narrative-Dandelion Girl
I became a little obsessed with her. Whenever I took out her photo my head couldn t stop from
tilting and my eyes couldn t stop from peering closely because the image itself was awe inspiring
in its simplicity. She couldn t have been more than four at the time it was taken; her dark ringlets
fell close to her waist and she was young enough to where the strands looked as fragile as the
dandelion she held gently in her hands. Her mouth was forming a smile as the white tufts drifted
away. Of course, it s a still image, but I felt as if I was there in the moments following the
snapshot, when she giggled and reached for the little seeds floating away, a brazen grin on her face.
Who knows what she wished for. Her eyes were the type that stayed sad even in the lightest of
times, and sometimes when I glanced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

meet Dandelion Girl. She came to me in the precinct, the hands that should be holding a familiar
looking dandelion handcuffed behind her back, and the arm linked with her lover was held in
an iron tight grip by a cop. Unabashedly I stood up, outraged that she was handcuffed, but I sat
back down quickly, asking myself if it was really her. It was. Smooth black ringlets had been
since been dyed into platinum blonde, and her pale face was wrinkled in fury that no young
person should have, but it was her. Her eyes darted everywhere and seemed smaller and sharper,
but they were indisputably hers. She turned to face me and all I could think was did she really

Descriptive Essay On A Midnight Forest
I m laying down in grass and snow, in the middle of Midnight Forest. Judging by the beams of
moonlight coming in through the trees, it must be around midnight. I m not sure what I m doing
here, but I have a feeling of uncertainty. Saige. I hear a whisper from behind me. I whip around,
and my eyes scan what I thought was an empty forest. I shake my head and stand up, snowflakes
floating off of my winter coat and skirt.
I see my breath in the air, and it mesmerizes me for a second. A big clump of snow abruptly falls
from the trees. I gasp at the sudden noise and look up to where the snow fell from. An owl is
looking down at me, it s never blinking eyes looking into mine, and it feels like it s invading my
brain.
My head starts to hurt, and I close my eyes and rub my temples. I reopen my eyes and the owl is
right in front of my face. I let out a small shriek and fall backward into the snow. All I can hear
was my uneven breaths. I hear a rustle in the bushes to my right, but the dark light proves a
challenge to see through. The rustling of the bushes stopped for a minute, and I felt an ephemeral
moment of peace. I stood up on shaky legs and took a deep breath in.
For some reason unknown, my brain wasn t begging me to leave the forest. In fact, I was drawn
to what looked like a neglected cabin. I felt captivated by the building, despite the archaic style. I
took slow but steady steps towards the old cabin.. Come in, The building whispered to me in an
enthralling way. My steps quickened and I ended up at a full on sprint to get inside the building.
I took my first step inside the creaky wooden door, and time seemed to slow. The ancient
building transformed into a state of the art building from the 1950 s. I felt like I was
hallucinating. My vision flashed between a room full of laughter and warmth, and a room full of
blood and horror. I backed up against a door and ran into someone. I began to mumble a sorry until
I turned around.
There, one of the aliens that invaded our planet was looking at me, it s black eyes locked onto
mine. I screamed as loud as I could, and the scene became happy once more. Miss, are you okay? A
lady in asked me, a concerned look plastered on her face. The

The Destruction Of Great Works Of Art
Over the course of human history, political parties and movements have been involved in the
destruction of great works of art. From the Mongols to recent terrorist organizations like Islamic
State, these political organizations have a bad habit of destroying works of art. Moreover, this is
only seen being done by political organizations that seek change or control over the world.
The most recent and impactful of which being the Nazi party, Taliban, and Islamic state. This area
is incredibly interesting because art is being destroyed right under our noses, not many people
understand the impact of the history behind these works of art that are now destroyed, and it
happens over and over throughout human history. What is very peculiar about this is that not
many people really consider the motivation behind all of the destruction and vandalism. This begs
the question, what causes political organizations to destroy works of art in their quest for political
power? For the past few years the world has begun to really understand the affects and the power
that the terrorist organization Islamic State holds. The main source of media coverage of Islamic
state ranges from the murdering of innocent people to the destruction of ancient works of art. For
example, Islamic state militants in Iraq and Syria wage war against the region s cultural heritage by
attacking archaeological sites with bulldozers and explosives. The actual motives behind their
destruction are not set in stone, but

Formative Vs. Summative Assessment
Formative vs. Summative Assessment In today s schools, teachers are trying to decide which form
of assessment, formative or summative, is a better measure of student s abilities. Teachers are
constantly pressured to make sure their students are doing well on state wide assessments,
therefore, making sure their students have the skills they need to succeed on these tests is
extremely important. Formative assessmentgives the student and teacher feedback as the
information is gathered (Cotton, 2017). Where summative assessments are better for capturing the
amount of material learned and the quality of learning at the end of a large unit or amount of
information (Dixson and Worrell 2016). Teachers are on the warpath researching which method is
the most effective way of assessing students. In the article Formative and Summative Assessmentin

Knowing when to use each is imperative to the success of students. It is the teacher s job to decide

Summative assessment is used to see what students know about a particular topic at a particular
time, such as a cumulative exam. Students and teachers alike feel the pressure that high stakes
testing can bring. Teachers make all the difference when it comes to testing. So, in order for
teachers to have classrooms where testing is used efficiently they must work diligently to make sure

Currently there are several formats of bullying in the society. Bullying is repeated verbal,
physical, social or psychological behaviour that is harmful and involves the misuse of power by
an individual or group towards one or more persons. (NSW Public Schools, n.d.) Cyber bullying is
that bullying that uses electronic devices such as mobile phones and laptops or Internet to

Divergent Movie Analysis
Introduction: Divergent is an action film directed by Neil Burger. This film takes place in
Chicago, which is placed in a futuristic world where society divides people into five factions
based on their personalities. As each person grows up and becomes an adult they have to choose a
faction which they will stay in for the rest of their lives. Beatrice Prior is the main character in
Divergent and she changes a lot throughout the film, starting off as not knowing who she is and
why she isn t like everybody else. To finding out and learning who she is and becoming more
confident in herself. The director uses a variety of different film techniques including close ups,
and wide shots to show how Tris is feeling, and how she is changing throughout Divergent.
Paragraph 1: At the beginning of the film, Tris is very quiet and naive. She was born into the faction
Abnegation, they live a simple life, selfless, dedicated to helping others, this tells us that Tris s
life isn t exciting and she was born to put others before herself. When Tris is in her room, getting
ready for the choosing ceremony where she will get the chance to choose a new faction, the
director uses an over the shoulder shot to show her reflection in the mirror. Tris s face looks very
nervous and scared as to what faction she will choose and what it will be like. This helps the
audience understand that she is quite anxious for a new changeand wonders if she is still a part of

New Testament Chapter 13
Summary of An Introduction to the New Testament Chapter One Thinking About The Study of the
New Testament The authors of the textbook intend chapter one to be a baseline or at least a
starting point for scholars that are possibly studying the New Testament for the first time. The
stated aim of the chapter is to provide enough of a framework to make the rest of this textbook, and
a lot of other books on the New Testament, a little easier to understand. (23) Highlighted in the
chapter are some of the more common criticisms used by scholars today (e.g., form criticism,

of the key figures throughout history that have utilized such criticisms to help shape scholarly study

Carson and Moo make the reader aware of the authorship dispute regarding Ephesians. They point to
seven arguments that support the traditional view that Paul wrote it. Likewise, they then draw
attention to five argument used by modern scholars to deny Pauline authorship. After the

controversy. The section tiled Destination is where it is found. Modern scholars argue several
theories as to where Paul or whoever they claim the author to be, may have written the letter for.
Once claim that has gained traction over the years is that the letter was meant to be a circular letter
a letter circulated among churches. Another claim is that the letter was intended for the Laodiceans,
as Marcion thought. Even still, another theory suggests the letter was written as an introduction to
all the other letters Paul wrote. After the destination controversy is discussed Carson and Moo close

Human Impact On The Carbon, Phosphorus, And Nitrogen Cycles
Human Impact on the Carbon, Phosphorus, and Nitrogen Cycles
Introduction
Except for small amount of cosmic debris that enters the Earth s atmosphere, the Earth is a
closed system for matter. All the elements needed for the structure and chemical processes of life
come from the elements that were present in the Earth s crust when it was formed billions of
years ago. This matter is continually cycling the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and
lithosphere, from periods of a few days to millions of years. These cycles are called biogeochemical
cycles, because they include a variety of biological, geological, and chemical processes
(Biogeochemical Cycles, 2008). This paper will look at the impact humans have had on the carbon,
nitrogen and phosphorus cycles.
Discussion
Carbon Cycle
The carbon cycle has been significantly altered by extracting and combusting billions of tons of
hydrocarbons in fossils that were buried deep in the Earth s crust. In addition, clearing vegetation
that stores carbon has also impacted the carbon cycle. Global release of carbon through human
activities has increased from 1 billion tons per year in 1940 to 6.5 billion tons per year in 2000.
About half of this extra carbon is taken up by plants and the oceans, while the other half remains in
the atmosphere.
Nitrogen Cycle
The major human activities that today influence the global nitrogen cycle are fossil fuel
combustion, the production and use of chemical fertilizer, and the growing of

Statue Of Gudea Essay
The Statue of Gudea is a prehistoric piece created in 2090 B.C. The Statue of Gudea is a
sculpture in the round made of Diorite. This piece was made in the Neo Sumerian period ( Statue
of Gudea | Neo Sumerian | Neo Sumerian | The Met. ). The Statue of Gudea uses pattern and depth
to create an intriguing and complex ancient piece.
The Statue of Gudea is made of a thick and heavy stone. Creating The Statue of Gudea would
take a significant amount of time to create, perhaps months or years. There are also detailed
inscriptions and patterns that would take a lot of focus and a time to create. The Statue of Gudea
has some imperfections and looks damaged in some areas. The head of the statue is cracked at the
bottom. This cracking makes me believe the head has likely been reattached. There is also some
chipping along the neckline and on the cheek. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The face emphasizes the eyes. It does this by making the eyes larger than normal. The oversizing
creates an intense effect that brings attention to the eyes. Also, by the eyes, are the eyebrows,
which are also larger than usual, and even patterned. This also draws attention toward the face of
the piece. This makes me believe the creator wanted attention to be drawn towards the eyes or
face. This oversizing and attention towards the eyes could be to show the power or intensity of the
figure/ person being created in The Statue of Gudea. There is also some highlights given off in the
eyes that bring focus to the area. The eye region also is given more detail than the nose or mouth.
The mouth is not showing any emotion, this could be done to give the piece a more serious effect.
The nose does not have any detail or oversizing. However, attention is brought to the nose from the
highlight given off. There are also highlights on the right half of the face. All these details make the
face a main focal point of the

Business Example: Cold Stone Creamery, a premium ice cream chain, used Microsoft Dynamics
CRM to automate and streamline its birthday club program. In one year, Cold Stone Creamery was
able to increase membership from nearly 200,000 to over 1.5 million and to reduce direct marketing

Robust workflow capabilities enable organizations to streamline time consuming processes such
as budget approvals, campaign execution, lead qualification, lead routing, RFP submission, sales
follow up, reference management, and case routing, just to name a few. The more these
processes can be automated, the more employees can focus on their core competencies. Another
way to leverage workflow capabilities is by automating end to end business processes. For
example, workflow can be used to take a holistic approach to sales by enforcing best practices
from lead to final close, defining a common sales methodology and streamlining execution.
Organizations can model each stage in the sales process, define an ideal

Leadership and Power in The Lion King
One of The Lion King s primary focuses is leadership and power. Throughout the whole movie, it
is a battle of who has power, who wants power, and who is the best leader for the circumstance.
Mufasa, the king of Pride Rock at the beginning, and Sarabi, his wife, give birth to their son,
Simba, who is next in line to become king. Scar, Mufasa s younger brother, is extremely upset that
he will never be king and have power. Mufasa is the quintessential good leader. According to the
trait approach, which states that good leaders possess specific traits, intelligence, self confidence,
determination, integrity, and sociability are the most common traits amongst the best leaders.

It is heavily concerned with the nature of leaders behavior and how virtuous they are. A perspective
on ethical leadership known as servant leadership emphasizes that leaders should be concerned
with their followers understand them; they should take care of them. There is a three step
process to servant leadership: heart check, head check, and hand check. Simba definitely goes
through these three steps as he is thinking about what he should do. Heart check is defined by
questions such as: Am I called to leadership, rather than driven to it?, Is my main objective to be
helpful or in control?, Do I have the best interest of those I lead at heart or am I my primary
concern?, Will I gain satisfaction in watching the growth and development of those I lead?
Clearly, Simba knew he was called to be king, and he felt it was his duty to help those within his
kingdom. He wanted nothing more than to watch Pride Rock grow and transform back into the
beautiful and harmonious place it was before Scar was in control. On the other hand, it was
clear that Scar took an unethical approach to becoming king. His only concern was himself and
obtaining control because he felt like he was owed power. Head check is defined by purpose,
values, image, and goals. Simba realized his fundamental reason for existence was to take over his
father s place when he died. His values, at first, were not aligned with his purpose, but after
thinking he realized he needed to challenge Scar

The Injury Of An Anterior Cruciate Ligament Essay
When an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is torn/ruptured it can be considered one of the most
agonizing experiences in an athlete s career. It is thought to be one of the first things that pops
into an athlete s mind and for many even their greatest fear when they injure their knee on the
field. A ruptured ACL can be so detrimental that it can possibly mean the end to an athlete s career.
It can signify for young athletes losing that chance of getting a scholarship as in this case and the
end of their careers for those who have gone professional. A ruptured ACL can result in large
amounts of pain, numerous surgeries and months of strenuous exercise and rehabilitation. It
requires an athlete to be dedicated and patient as pushing too hard can result in further injury. This
essay will discuss the pathology, the rehabilitation progress from six weeks to final stage including
the athletes return to play after experiencing an ACL injury.
Pathology
The ACL is part of a cruciate ligament that lies inside the kneejoint and attaches the front of the
tibia with the back of the femur. It is made up of strong fibres (collagen) that act like the strands of
a rope or cable and this enables the ligament to prevent knee hyperextension, limit excessive tibial
rotation, resist excessive anterior translation of the tibia on the femur as well as varus and valgus
forces. In the Northstar web page it is stated that, The anterior cruciate ligament is one of the most
important ligaments to

there is no increase in the cell number and induction of enzymes to utilized substrate. It is very
important to decrease the lag period in industry to increase the productivity. To decrease the period
of lag phase some used to inoculate with exponential phase cell, pre acclimate inoculum in growth

exponential phase, cells already adjusted to the surrounding and already begin to develop and

growth rate is independent of nutrient and substrate concentration. The exponential phase is due to

Introduction
The element of water is very essential to the human body. From basic needs of life to bathing we
use water on a daily basis. Due to the fact that we use water every day, its only important that we
find out what is in our water. Lakes, rivers, and other fresh water sources are key for drinking
water and even beneficial for the land. (Guan, et al, 2017) Even though we use these sources, they

Coliforms are lactose fermenters so the most probable number test confirmed that the bacteria in the
water samples were lactose fermenters. When the lactose broth changed from red to yellow is
indicated that acid was produced, and when the bubble was found in the Durham tube, it
indicated the presence of gas. EMB agar was used because EMB agar is differential and a type
of selective media. EMB agar selects for gram negative bacteria and differentiates just how strong
of a lactose fermenter it is by altering the color of the colony. For example, this dictate the pink or
purple color of the culture. At this point the presence of coliforms had been confirmed and the next
step was to identify the type of coliform. This was done with the use of the IMViC test. The four
sub tests within the IMViC are indole production, Methyl red test, Voges Proskaur test, and citrate
utilization. The indole production test indicates whether or not the hydrolysis of trytophan into
indole, pyruvate, and ammonia happened. The Methyl red test indicated the Ph. In the Methyl red
test if the solution turns red, it indicates the Ph is 4.2 or lower. If the solution does not turn red it
indicates that there is no mixed acid fermentation and that butanediol was produced instead. The
Voges Proskaur test is only positive is the Methyl red test

Balfour Declaration Of Independence
In 1917, before the United Nations was even created, the British government published the Balfour
Declaration which supported the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine (Immell 16). Inevitably,
bad feelings were going to rise between the native Arabs of Palestine and this new Balfour
Declaration that favored taking away some of Palestineland and setting it aside for Jewish
immigrants. Over the next 20 years, the number of Jews immigrating to Palestine increased due to
the Zionist movemnt, and so did Arab Jewish tensions. From 1936 1939, a large group of Arabs
revolted. This revolt was led by leaders who were unwilling to give any Palestine land for the
establishment of a Jewish nation (Cottrell 32 35). After this revolt and the growing Zionist
movement, it would have seemed apparent to the United Nations that the Arabs and Jews in
Palestine needed to be separated. So although the United Nations did pass Resolution 181 which
essentially created the Jewish nation, Israel, the United Nations merely carried out the legislature
that was promised from the Balfour Declaration of the British government. By not being able to
peacefully live together, the Arabs and Jews of Palestine themselves ended up playing a role in the

Between EHR benefits and its disadvantages, it has been very difficult for decision makers to
make a decision regarding such systems. An evaluation is needed in order for decision makers to
pick a side; whether they support EHR implementation or not. Evaluation is decisive assessment of
defined objectives, based on set of criteria to solve a given problem. Evaluation mainly serves three
purposes: to compare results with the goals and excepted effects of the system, to direct work
towards the expected result with the help of formative evaluation during development and
introduction of the system, to use the finding and outcomes of the evaluation process as an
experience base for future projects(Ammenwerth, Gräber, Herrmann, Bürkle, König,
2003).Whereas, some define evaluation as the systematic process of information collection about
program activities and features to judge and enhance its effectiveness. Evaluation leads to the
settled opinion that something about the program is the case, which may lead to a decision to act
in a certain way(Institute, 2007). The process Evaluation describes the implementation of an
information source and judging the merits and worth which includes

The Pros And Cons Of Driverless Cars
Our future is intense and frightening, but overall, unpredictable. We will have driverless cars
soon in our world. They will overtake our roads and means of transportation. In my opinion, I
think there is both good and bad with these driverless cars. There is both pros and cons dealing
with this future. This future for cars will reduce drunk driving, reduce traffic jams, and reduce
expense on the driver and our planet. The downside however, will come with putting millions
out of business. Driverless cars are technology, and technology is not perfect, it sometimes
crashes and does not always work the way we want it to. We do know that humanity is not
perfect either. Humanity makes mistakes just as much as technology. So in this essay, I will
talk about perspective one, perspective two, and perspective three, all talking about how
driverless cars are good and bad for the future of our world. Firstly, perspective one talks about
how driverless cars are an amazing idea. They will save countless lives, protect the environment,
and allow more transportation options for the poor. The benefits of driverless cars will vastly
outweigh any short term drawbacks. I agree and disagree with this perspective. I agree because
what it is saying is true. I disagree because it does not talk about the bad things of what it will do.
What if these driverless cars go rogue and kill a pedestrian or passenger. They will give more good
things to the world but they will also give bad

Saint Patrick and St Patrick s Day

Fourth Quarter Report
Part 1: The process of Canonization is the process that a person must go through to become a
saint. This began around the tenth century. Pope John Paul II changed the process in 1983. Here
is the process. The first requirement is that the person must be dead for at least five years. They
must be a very holy person and a servant of God. Then the person s local church members must
start a petition to request that this person should become a saint. The Bishop will look into this
person s life and decide whether or not to pass this person on to the next step to the Pope. If he
does a couple of theologians will look more deeply into this person s life and evaluate the person.
People who are martyrs will automatically become a saint because they should amazing faith and
holiness. Many of the first saints were martyrs because they were persecuting Christians in the
time of Jesus and a long time after the ascension. The next step is to have at least two miracles

Now a day, data sharing over web based application has greatly increased which is technically
good. Also application attacks were increased which is very risky as the issue related to
confidentiality, integrity, availability which results in data theft.
According to John Desmond, there are many dangerous application attacks which provides the
access for end user to view system resources and private information s by breaking the network
firewalls (John Desmond, 2004).
In this paper, I would like discuss the few top vulnerabilities to web application as per the recent

some of the top vulnerabilities effect and how to prevent those attack.
Application development is done more and more on the web. We are using web browser for

The Importance Of Mount Shasta Eruption
The cities of Weed, Mount Shasta City, McCloud, and Dunsmuir lie in the shadow of Mount
Shasta and could be devastated by an eruption. They lie close enough to the base of the mountain
that they could suffer damage from pyroclastic (hot gas, rock, and ash) and lava flows, tephra
(rock fragments and particles ejected by a volcanic eruption)., lahars (destructive mudflow), and
ballistic ejecta. Based on recent behavior, it is not likely that Mount Shasta will erupt
catastrophic volumes soon. However, smaller eruptions are possible. At least ten eruptions have
taken place in California in the past 1,000 years according to the USGS. Most recently, Lassen
Peak in Lassen Volcanic National Park had a series of eruptions from 1914 to 1917. Concerned
people and groups work with the government to hopefully solve or at least slow global warming
which could be so disastrous to not only Mount Shasta but the entire planet Earth. Government
funded studies had verified that the Mount Shasta area is the ancestral home of the Wintu tribe
and the mountain is central to the Indian belief systems (Nabov). People must be aware of the
delicate balance that can easily be disrupted and treat the area with respect and care to preserve the
beauty for coming generations. Mount Shasta was designated a National Landmark in December of
1976.

Psychological Abuse In Slavery By Harriet Jacobs
Psychological abuse is characterized by non physical acts to affect inner thoughts. As a slave,
Harriet Jacobs experienced a great amount of pain and suffering while her and her family members
were slaves of Dr. Flint. She narrated her experiences after realizing she was a slave at six years
old. From an analysis of Harriet Jacobs experience in slavery, she suffered more from psychological
abuse because she was treated like property, manipulated by Dr. Flint, and emotionally depressed.
One of the reasons why Harriet Jacobs suffers more from psychological abuse was because she
was treated as property. Upon the death of her generous mistress, Harriet Jacobs was later
relocated into her mistress niece s house. The mistress niece was only five years old which made
Jacobs the property of her father, Dr. Flint who made Harriet Jacobs life a living hell while being
a slave in his house. From the time that Jacobs and her brother William first walked into their
new master s home, they knew their lives were about to get worse: When we entered our new
home we encountered cold looks, cold words, and cold treatment, (Ch.2). From the start, Dr.
Flint and his wife treated Jacobs as property. As Jacobs said in chapter four, he occasionally tried to
sell her for high prices but said she wasn t his property to sell: She don t belong to me. She is my
daughter s property, and I have no right to sell her. Once Jacobs was 15 years old and Dr. Flint was

Why Did Kitty Genovese s Neighbors Fail For Take Action...
On March 13, 1964, a woman named Kitty Genovese was stabbed repeatedly while several
neighbors were vaguely aware of the unfolding events occurring outside. The lack of action on the
neighbors part led to Genovese dying shortly after. Why did Kitty Genovese s neighbors fail to take
action quickly?
The psychologists John Darley and Bibb LatanГ© (1968) were interested in the Genovese incident
and sought to find the answer to this psychological phenomenon. In their experiment, Darley and
LatanГ© hypothesized that the higher number of bystanders would decrease helping behavior and
vice versa. The two manipulated the number of confederates during each trial and recorded the
time it took for the participants to report the simulated seizure. Their results confirmed that if were
more confederates, each participant would feel less pressured to help, leading to the discovery of
the bystander effect.
The bystander effect is defined as the higher the number of people who notice an emergency, the
less of a chance that those bystanders will help the victim (as cited in Aronson, Wilson, Akert,
Sommers, 2015). The importance of the bystander effect is unparalleled because it determines
whether humans will still help in a situation when there are other people available. Bystanders can
deal with situations ranging from the mundane to the dire, but what matters is the number of those
who take action.
Inspired by the Genovese case, my partner and I wanted to see if the Tufts community, which

Churchill the Writer
Churchill the Writer
Winston Churchill (1874 1965) is one of the most celebrated, criticized, and without question
debated political figures in world history. While Churchill had a long and controversial political
career, most notably his nine years as Prime Minster of Great (1940 45, 1951 55), his fame,
something many view as a crucial aspect of his life he thrived off of and live for, spanned well
beyond the years he held various positions in political office. Churchill was born and raised in the
Victorian Era, a time in which the British Empire was at its peak as the world s strongest power.
When studying almost any aspect of Churchill s life, his romantic vision of Britain as a thriving
empire and world power holds a strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theme of the Empire and his struggle to preserve it is evident throughout his life works as a
writer and politician.
Finest Hours
In 2010 Adam Gopnik published a biography of Winston Churchillin The New Yorker titled Finest
Hours. While the article is not a direct analysis of Churchill as a writer, it provides wonderful
insight into the theme of Churchill as a ninetieth century Romantic who believed in race and nation
and always thought in terms not of national interest but of a national character that could trump
interest . (4) Gopnik s biography of Winston Churchill is a reconfirmation that the powerful and
glorious British Empire was present in everything he did.
Gopnik also analyzes the rhetoric of Churchill, focusing specifically on his Speech to the House
of Commons in June of 1940, stating, Churchill s words did all that words can do in the world.
They said what had to be done; they announced why it had to be done then; they inspired those
who had to do it . (1) This is similar to Addison s character description of Churchill as direct and
frank.
Sir Winston Churchill as a Historian A.L. Rowse s (1962) article Sir Winston Churchill as a
Historian. Rowse begins by clarifying that the subject of this article is not an analysis of
Churchill s place in history, rather more austerely as a writer . (165) One of the main theses
Rowse presents that if Churchill was judged solely as a historian, there would be no debate on his
success.

their residence halls in August and participate in activities to acclimate them into the Wheaton
community. CORE August also offers three pre orientation programs to incoming students:
Intercultural, International and Abilities First (New Student Orientation and Move In). Each pre
orientation is designed to give students an opportunity to get acclimated with a new environment,
while meeting members of the college community who will share a common Wheaton experience in
the years to come.
The Abilities 1st! Pre Orientation is designed for students with learning disabilities. Various
workshops are offered for students and their families to ease the transition to college. Workshops
include a writing session, panel discussion, locating classrooms on campus, reviewing a syllabi
and other social activities (Abilities 1st! 2017 Pre Orientation Schedule). Students participating in
the program will also be able to meet individually with the Dean of Accessibility Services, to set
up their accommodations for the Fall semester. While many of the workshops assist students in
developing a better understanding of what to expect in their first year of college, it does not
provide much opportunity for students to develop characteristics and skills that are critical for
college persistence.

Importance Of Clubbing And Nightlife
Clubbing is seen and experienced in different parts of the world and music is always a part of this
activity. Music is seen and experienced in various spaces based on interactions at a certain time
between agents and the place. As a result of ethnographic encounters in six dance clubs in Baguio
City, Philippines as well as interviews with actors clubbers, managers and musicians and the place,
this paper argues that there is a communicative value attached to musicking and experiencing music
in clubs, entangled with the social value attached to clubbing and music production and
consumption. The value and experience transcend beyond traditional notion of music and beyond
the quotidian understanding of music production and consumption. Musicking in nightclubs also

  • 2. If I Were A Triffid Analysis Literature Circle If I was a Triffid, I would do many things that the Triffids did not do in the pages we read. The things I would do if I was a Triffid is kill all the humans. I would also gather up other Triffids and form a large group with other Triffids and I would also invade all the buildings in the area. To start, if I was a Triffid, I would kill all the humans in the world. If I was a Triffid, I would try to kill as much as humans as I possibly could in order to stay alive. The reason I would try to kill all the Triffids is because humans can make and have very deadly weapons such as shotguns, nuclear bombs, machine guns, missiles and more. So if I tried to kill all the humans ,blind and not blind, there would be a result of no dangerous threat to Triffids and I, so we could roam around freely. Also, because Triffids are carnivorous and I am a Triffid, I could only survive by eating meat and flesh, and there is about seven billion humans so humans could be a superior source of food. The last reason I would kill all the humans because if all the humans were gone, Triffids could be the leaders of the land and rule everything, so Triffids would be respected by other creatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason I would do that is so the humans would not have anything to collect from the store and would eventually die which would be easier than killing humans. Not only if we invade all the store just to kill humans but to use the equipment for ourselves like canned meat and things like that. Also, invading all the buildings means we could use it for shelter, like a house. In summation this is why I would invade all the buildings. In conclusion, this is what I would do many things that the Triffids did not do in the pages we read. The things I would do if I was a Triffid is kill all the humans, gather up other Triffids and form a large group with other Triffids and I would also invade all the buildings in the ... • 3. Emergency Department Nurses Introduction Title: Relationship between occupational violence, burnout and intention to leave in emergency department nurses in Western Australia The motivation for this research direction and area of investigation stemmed from my personal experiences as a final year nursing student in a busy emergency department in a metropolitan hospital in Western Australia. Anecdotally and personal observation wise, the level of stress, disillusionment and discontentment amongst the staff in a busy and demanding environment where violence or threat of violence was experienced or witnessed on a daily basis was significantly higher when compared with earlier practicum experiences in other departments. This served as an inspiration to further investigate the extent of occupational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The approach for this particular research was adapted from the dissertation project of Christensson (2014) to increase knowledge of the relationship between emergency department violence, burnout experienced by the nurses and eventual motivation to quit. I endeavour to explore the relationship between these elements in the context of Western Australian emergency department as the social and cultural demographics, the profile of acute presentations, the advent of alcohol and drug cases that are a significant cause of workplace violence and level of security and deterrence to violence vary from the place of abovementioned research in New Jersey, United States of America to the state of Western Australia. Research has identified burnout and high attrition rate as a result of workplace violence, but there is a dearth of studies that have delved deeper into the interconnectedness of these elements specific to a Western Australia context. The purpose of this proposal is to fill this gap in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Myths, Morals, And Rules Life is a series of life lessons, morals, and rules that we all live by and learn through every decision we make. A way these lessons, morals, and rules are shown and told is through myths. A myth is a traditional story from a certain ethnic, religion, place, or culture, and explains how and why things are the way they are. Myths also incorporate a moral, theme, or life lesson, which becomes clear at the end of the story. As a child I m sure you ve heard stories from your family whether a more unknown myth or common tale that you got something out of, whether it was learning something new, or something you already knew that simply got reinforced. But if you re like me, then it ll take some time before you remember. Once I did remember the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, my grandpa and Aunty Paning lived in Ilocos Norte, while my grandma lived in Manila, they were 407.64km, 253.31mi apart and they were still told the same myths, with the exception of a few details. Furthermore, another person who has heard this myth from past generations is Sonia Jackson, who was a senior at Tennessee University in 2008. Sonia Jacksons grandmother Dr. Natividad Corrales Taboada told her daughter, Maria Jackson, Sonia s mother, who then told Sonia and her siblings the story. There is also a controversy of whether the myth was created before or after the Spanish invasion, but it s difficult to know for sure. As you can see this myth is probably very old, to have gone through at least eighty two years, it could easily have existed for a century. Usually, Filipino myths are passed down through words spoken and are grouped into four main groups. The first are myths that explain the creation of the universe, god (Bathala or Maykapal), the origin of man, supernatural beings and the native Filipino heroes. Second, are legends that tell the origin of a local phenomenon, places, plants, animals, thoughts, and names. Third, are fables where animals or inanimate beings are made to speak and act like rational beings to point out morals, this is the group the myth falls into, but also has aspects from the second group because ... • 5. Meritocracy In Dave Egger s The Circle Character is who you are in the dark. In the book, The Circle, the author Dave Egger talks about the details of different myths in American society. One of those myth are meritocracy. Meritocracy is a system that allows people to advance in life based on their quality of being especificly worthy or good. This means that if a person demonstrates qualities that are viewed as virtuous in society (merit) . In other words, they will rise above others in the group. The novelhas some aspect of the story that touches on the myth of meritocracy. She starts to work in the customer service section answering customer questions and creating reports. Her routine is evaluated and reorganized after each contact, and her score can rise or fall for all to see. On the first day her score was the highest. Quickly, she becomes a winner in The Circle. This proves that when people have determination, anything can be possible. In the same way, sometimes people have problems, and that they can discourage themselves. However, Mae proves that when people desire to have positive changes in their lives, they just need to work hard and find the right people to help them. It might be difficult at the beginning, however, if people keep working hard they are going to eventually have positive results. For example, according to the article, Making It In America author Adam Davidson claims As workers become more productive, they should be able to demand higher salaries (pag.339). In other words, if people are available to learn more in their jobs, there will be more chances to be more successful as they continue to learn. Similar to what happen to Mae in her first of work: she is rewarded by having the highest score. Analyzing Mae can be used to demonstrate how easy it is to be sucked into a world of success, where even though she is successful, it does not mean that she is happy. In other words, success might mean different things to different people. It creates a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Development of Jazz in South Africa On June 19, 1890 South Africans came into contact with African American music for the first time. This contact came when Orpheus McAdoo s Virginia Jubilee Singers. Orpheus McAdoo, a graduate of Hampton Institute, now known as Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia joined five members of the original Fisk Jubilee Singers, an African American a capella group from Fisk University and began to tour places such as Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. When he returned to the U.S., he added four members to the minstrel troupe and in 1890 they found themselves in Cape Town, South Africa. Their tour in Cape Town was extremely successful and they forever left an impact on South African culture in the form of a Carnival that takes place each year. Kaapse Klopse, formerly known as the Coon Carnival takes place on January 2nd each year. Minstrel troupes gather in District 6 and take part in a parade and various competions. Various genres of music are represented in the Kaapse Klopse but one genre has been apart of the festivsal since its early beginnings, South African Jazz. As the jazz tradition was developing in the United States through the cross fertilization of African and African American culture, this jazz music would eventually reach all the way to South Africa. These infections are passed during unprotected genital, anal or oral sex. There are sometimes symptoms of the various infections however there are some infections that can also be symptom free and therefore can go undetected for quite some time. Young people in the UK typically aged 15 24 have the highest rates of sexually transmitted infections. There is a link between this age group and those living in socioeconomically deprived areas, suggesting these particular regions need better and easier access to healthcare services in order to detect, treat and avoid further spreading and damage caused by the infections. • 10. A Serious Problem Of Testicular Cancer A serious problem that exists among the Maori population in some areas of N.Z. is testicular (teste) cancer. It affects young men from all backgrounds and there is little research on what risk factors there are. The encyclopaedia Britannica online defines teste cancer as a disease characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells within the testis, the reproductive organ that produces sperm. Testicular cancerrepresents only 1 percent of all cancers in males, but it is the most common malignancy for men between ages 15 and 35. 1 Whether or not teste cancer is the most serious health problem among Maori arguable and additional health related problems should be discussed. First of all, testicular cancer is one of the most crippling diseases creating significant damage on patient and family. Additionally, the discrepancy between Maori and Pakeha diagnosis of testicular cancer is a cause for concern. Contrariwise a lack of knowledge on the difference between Maori and Pakeha psychology and the way Psychologist/Psychiatrist deal with Maori patients. Finally, there is general reluctance for Maori to seek mental healthwhich leads to difference between diagnosis and treatment. Firstly, the mental and physical anguish that surrounds testicular cancer is so significant because it is the most common cancer affecting men between the ages of 15 and 39, but it is not limited to this age range. However, young men typically do not get a lot of cancer, so overall testicular cancer is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whenever I took out her photo my head couldn t stop from tilting and my eyes couldn t stop from peering closely because the image itself was awe inspiring in its simplicity. She couldn t have been more than four at the time it was taken; her dark ringlets fell close to her waist and she was young enough to where the strands looked as fragile as the dandelion she held gently in her hands. Her mouth was forming a smile as the white tufts drifted away. Of course, it s a still image, but I felt as if I was there in the moments following the snapshot, when she giggled and reached for the little seeds floating away, a brazen grin on her face. Who knows what she wished for. Her eyes were the type that stayed sad even in the lightest of times, and sometimes when I glanced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And I was right, I did meet Dandelion Girl. She came to me in the precinct, the hands that should be holding a familiar looking dandelion handcuffed behind her back, and the arm linked with her lover was held in an iron tight grip by a cop. Unabashedly I stood up, outraged that she was handcuffed, but I sat back down quickly, asking myself if it was really her. It was. Smooth black ringlets had been since been dyed into platinum blonde, and her pale face was wrinkled in fury that no young person should have, but it was her. • 12. Descriptive Essay On A Midnight Forest I m laying down in grass and snow, in the middle of Midnight Forest. Judging by the beams of moonlight coming in through the trees, it must be around midnight. I m not sure what I m doing here, but I have a feeling of uncertainty. Saige. I hear a whisper from behind me. I whip around, and my eyes scan what I thought was an empty forest. I shake my head and stand up, snowflakes floating off of my winter coat and skirt. I see my breath in the air, and it mesmerizes me for a second. A big clump of snow abruptly falls from the trees. I gasp at the sudden noise and look up to where the snow fell from. An owl is looking down at me, it s never blinking eyes looking into mine, and it feels like it s invading my brain. My head starts to hurt, and I close my eyes and rub my temples. I reopen my eyes and the owl is right in front of my face. I let out a small shriek and fall backward into the snow. All I can hear was my uneven breaths. I hear a rustle in the bushes to my right, but the dark light proves a challenge to see through. The rustling of the bushes stopped for a minute, and I felt an ephemeral moment of peace. I stood up on shaky legs and took a deep breath in. For some reason unknown, my brain wasn t begging me to leave the forest. In fact, I was drawn to what looked like a neglected cabin. I felt captivated by the building, despite the archaic style. I took slow but steady steps towards the old cabin.. Come in, The building whispered to me in an enthralling way. My steps quickened and I ended up at a full on sprint to get inside the building. I took my first step inside the creaky wooden door, and time seemed to slow. The ancient building transformed into a state of the art building from the 1950 s. I felt like I was hallucinating. From the Mongols to recent terrorist organizations like Islamic State, these political organizations have a bad habit of destroying works of art. Moreover, this is only seen being done by political organizations that seek change or control over the world. The most recent and impactful of which being the Nazi party, Taliban, and Islamic state. This area is incredibly interesting because art is being destroyed right under our noses, not many people understand the impact of the history behind these works of art that are now destroyed, and it happens over and over throughout human history. What is very peculiar about this is that not many people really consider the motivation behind all of the destruction and vandalism. This begs the question, what causes political organizations to destroy works of art in their quest for political power? For the past few years the world has begun to really understand the affects and the power that the terrorist organization Islamic State holds. The main source of media coverage of Islamic state ranges from the murdering of innocent people to the destruction of ancient works of art. For example, Islamic state militants in Iraq and Syria wage war against the region s cultural heritage by attacking archaeological sites with bulldozers and explosives. Human Impact On The Carbon, Phosphorus, And Nitrogen Cycles Human Impact on the Carbon, Phosphorus, and Nitrogen Cycles Introduction Except for small amount of cosmic debris that enters the Earth s atmosphere, the Earth is a closed system for matter. All the elements needed for the structure and chemical processes of life come from the elements that were present in the Earth s crust when it was formed billions of years ago. This matter is continually cycling the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere, from periods of a few days to millions of years. These cycles are called biogeochemical cycles, because they include a variety of biological, geological, and chemical processes (Biogeochemical Cycles, 2008). This paper will look at the impact humans have had on the carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycles. Discussion Carbon Cycle The carbon cycle has been significantly altered by extracting and combusting billions of tons of hydrocarbons in fossils that were buried deep in the Earth s crust. In addition, clearing vegetation that stores carbon has also impacted the carbon cycle. Global release of carbon through human activities has increased from 1 billion tons per year in 1940 to 6.5 billion tons per year in 2000. About half of this extra carbon is taken up by plants and the oceans, while the other half remains in the atmosphere. Nitrogen Cycle The major human activities that today influence the global nitrogen cycle are fossil fuel combustion, the production and use of chemical fertilizer, and the growing of ... • 33. The Pros And Cons Of Driverless Cars Our future is intense and frightening, but overall, unpredictable. We will have driverless cars soon in our world. They will overtake our roads and means of transportation. In my opinion, I think there is both good and bad with these driverless cars. There is both pros and cons dealing with this future. This future for cars will reduce drunk driving, reduce traffic jams, and reduce expense on the driver and our planet. The downside however, will come with putting millions out of business. Driverless cars are technology, and technology is not perfect, it sometimes crashes and does not always work the way we want it to. We do know that humanity is not perfect either. Humanity makes mistakes just as much as technology. So in this essay, I will talk about perspective one, perspective two, and perspective three, all talking about how driverless cars are good and bad for the future of our world. Firstly, perspective one talks about how driverless cars are an amazing idea. They will save countless lives, protect the environment, and allow more transportation options for the poor. The benefits of driverless cars will vastly outweigh any short term drawbacks. I agree and disagree with this perspective. I agree because what it is saying is true. I disagree because it does not talk about the bad things of what it will do. What if these driverless cars go rogue and kill a pedestrian or passenger. They will give more good things to the world but they will also give bad ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a slave, Harriet Jacobs experienced a great amount of pain and suffering while her and her family members were slaves of Dr. Flint. She narrated her experiences after realizing she was a slave at six years old. From an analysis of Harriet Jacobs experience in slavery, she suffered more from psychological abuse because she was treated like property, manipulated by Dr. Flint, and emotionally depressed. One of the reasons why Harriet Jacobs suffers more from psychological abuse was because she was treated as property. On March 13, 1964, a woman named Kitty Genovese was stabbed repeatedly while several neighbors were vaguely aware of the unfolding events occurring outside. The lack of action on the neighbors part led to Genovese dying shortly after. Why did Kitty Genovese s neighbors fail to take action quickly? The psychologists John Darley and Bibb LatanГ© (1968) were interested in the Genovese incident and sought to find the answer to this psychological phenomenon. In their experiment, Darley and LatanГ© hypothesized that the higher number of bystanders would decrease helping behavior and vice versa. The two manipulated the number of confederates during each trial and recorded the time it took for the participants to report the simulated seizure. Their results confirmed that if were more confederates, each participant would feel less pressured to help, leading to the discovery of the bystander effect. The bystander effect is defined as the higher the number of people who notice an emergency, the less of a chance that those bystanders will help the victim (as cited in Aronson, Wilson, Akert, Sommers, 2015). The importance of the bystander effect is unparalleled because it determines whether humans will still help in a situation when there are other people available. Bystanders can deal with situations ranging from the mundane to the dire, but what matters is the number of those who take action.
