Iran s Domestic Affairs And Foreign Policy
The historical lift of decades long sanctions on Iran earlier this year has sparked numerous discussions
about what the future holds for the country. Without a doubt, possibilities that have been blocked by
the past economic sanctions are now accessible to Iran. However, it s crucial to understand that change
cannot happen overnight. In fact, it may take years or even decades for Iran to catch up with the
majority of countries around the world. There are some notable events in Iran s domestic affairs that
can assist us in navigating where the semi theocratic regime appears to be headed. One of them would
be the recent Iranian election and its conceivable outcomes. This paper will examine the possible
progresses post sanctions Iran can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, we may deduce that recent elections suggested Iran s leaders and not merely reformists
have learned that the most effective way to mitigate this dilemma is to forge a peace deal with some of
their rivals. The prospects for such a deal emerged when Rouhani publicly assailed the Guardian
Council, asserting that the parliament is the house of the people and not a particular faction. 2 While
the Council of Guardians ignored this signal and chose instead to disqualify Hassan Khomeini along
with thousands of other would be candidates persistent criticism of the council s actions from
Rouhani, Rafsanjani, and others compelled it to readmit some 1,500 aspiring candidates political
novices, to be sure, rather than veteran reformists, but whose ranks included many supporters of
Rouhani and his allies. These dynamics suggest a grudging readiness by Iran s top leadership to
negotiate a political accommodation that could very slowly, yet eventually favor greater pluralism and
openness in the Islamic Republic. This seems to be the objective of Iran s reformists, who with
Rouhani s support have signaled a growing measure of political sophistication, strategic vision, and
unity.3

High School Jazz Concert Report
This concert took place on Thursday March 16, 2017 in the Atkinson Recital Hall located at New
Mexico State University in the Music Center at 7:30 in the evening. The concert consisted of four jazz
bands, NMSU jazz one and two as well Las Cruces High school jazz band one and two. The first the
stage the NMSU jazz II, director by Pancho Romero. The first song they had played was Primera Vista
composed by Wayne Wallace . Along with the jazz band they also have a few percussionists as well,
on bongos, xylophone, and a drum set. The band also played two more songs called Undecided
arranged by Mike Tomaro/Shavers and Afro Blue arranged by Michael Mossman/Santamaria . My
favorite was the Afro blue song, there was a lot of solos which I loved ... Show more content on

The band was directed by Jordan Sayre and Arnold Rose. The band started off with Perdido Arranged
by Roland Barret/Juan Tizol . For a high school band they had very strong beginning, the song was
very fast tempo, and lots of bold accents through the piece. The tenor sax was really the star of this
piece the band was really following him instead the tenor sax kind of keeping time and beat. The band
played about 2 more songs and LCHS Jazz I came on to stage about played another 3 songs as well.
One the played was Called The Chicken arranged by Kris Berg/Alfred James . This songs included a
lot of saxophones solos from alto sax to baritone sax. The trumpet also played a big part to for solo,
this piece they did lot of crescendos as well as decrescendos. It gave a more bold jazz feeling which I
really enjoyed. Last but not least the NMSU jazz I came about on the stage to finish out the concert.
They had four songs to play instead of three like the other bands. They started off with Cell Talk
composed by Sammy Nestico . This piece was a calmer piece like a modern typical jazz piece. There
was great transitions as well bold accents through the pieces. The band ends with a piece called Uno
Mas composed by Paul Lopez . This piece was more fast tempo as well bold accents was well
especially from the trumpets. It gave me more a swing vibe it was super neat to hear. This piece was

Krispy Kreme in Brazil
Founded in 1937 in Winston Salem, North Carolina, Krispy Kreme is a chief branded retailer and
wholesaler of high quality doughnuts, including its innovative Hot Original Glazed. Vernon Rudolph
bought a secret yeast raised doughnut recipe from a French chef from New Orleans, borrowed a
building in Winston Salem to bake in, and began selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts to the local grocery
stores. Krispy Kreme has sustained its intensification and lengthened the design of the reliable Krispy
Kreme store throughout the Southeast. They now have about 300 Krispy Kreme factory stores and 90

products were always fresh and obtainable. With this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gives them a dissimilar nationwide civilization separate from its Spanish speaking neighbors.
Even though Portuguese is the main language between the Brazilian culture there are other languages
such as English, French, German, Italian, etc., which are spoken by the people.
Market Entry Strategy The unsurpassed approach to enter into a Brazilian market would be to do
franchising. Franchising is a marketing oriented technique of selling a business service, often to
diminutive self governing investors who have operational capital but small or no previous business
experience. Krispy Kreme has franchised Korea, Japan, China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Kuwait,
Dubai, Mexico, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States where the business
originated. They have seemed to be victorious with aperture franchises in all of these countries and
plan to keep increasing in the upcoming. Krispy Kreme has the same franchising necessities for any
person who requests to procure into the Krispy Kreme franchise. Krispy Kreme has three franchising
requirements. These requirements are:
1. Applicants are obliged to have current tenure and working experience or previous ownership and
operating experience of multi unit food service operations in the market that you wish to expand.
2. Their franchisees ought to possess the principal adequate to fund the expansion of the market. They

Dbq Essay On Human Rights Violation
Throughout much of human history, certain issues have stayed unresolved for the longest time. Some
are political, some are societal, and still, some are religious, but only modern day sees the conclusions
to these affairs. Particularly, a human rights violation occurs when a government or other authority
goes against any basic right that all humans are born with. Some of these rights include the right to
life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Furthermore, only in the modern day is a violation such as
injustice realized and dealt with appropriately. In one instance in Qin China, certain books are
censored from the public. These books are forcefully taken and burned immediately. The picture in

Through apartheid, the Nationalist Party of South Africa had forced millions of people to leave their
homes because they were colored. In the text, it says, The National Party passed and enforced laws
that kept white and black South Africans separated and benefited whites while stripping non whites of
their rights (Doc 5). This quote explains that the National Party had consciously made a decision to be
discriminative against blacks and appraise whites. Another basic right of all humans is that everyone is
equal and everyone, no matter their race, should be treated the same. The National Party is clearly not
honoring this right even in the 20th century. Another example is found when in the text, it says, From
1960 to 1983, the apartheid government forcibly moved 3.5 million black South Africans in one of the
largest mass removals of people in modern history (Doc 5). This illustrates the apartheid system in
action. Millions of people are being pushed out of their rightful homes because and only because of
the color of their skin. Without a doubt, the National Party is not for this fundamental right of equality.
On the bright side however, even more recently, the apartheid system has been done away with. It can
now be said that just about every modern society is free of racism and discrimination, at least legally
(Outside Information). Strifes as such are now only but a memory due to modern

Transitional Objects In Children
Transitional objects are among the most powerful symbols in children s lives (Kutner,1991).
Attachment to a transitional object tends to develop around six months of age. This is when the first
evidence of independence develop, but the attachment peaks at about eighteen to thirty months of age.
The security objects are generally most important when the child is about two and a half years old.
Because between the ages of two and three children develop the necessary skills that allow them to
emotionally relate to people other than the people most important to them (Weiser,1991). Transitional
objects are irresistible to children because, for the most part, they are soft, warm, and totally
predictable (Miles, 1997). Miles states that in addition

Learned Helplessness Is A Mental Disorder
Learned helplessness is a mental disorder that affects many people in our society. The term learned
helplessness was first used by Martin Seligman and Steven Maier in the 1960 s. Dictionary.com
defines it as a mental condition in which one becomes unable to help oneself due to previous failed
attempts at controlling one s life. This is not a genetic disorder that can be passed down from family
members, rather a learned behavior that develops due to environmental factors. Seligman and Maier s
research demonstrates how the condition occurs. Seligman and Maier s discovery is derived from the
results of an experiment based on Pavlov s classical conditioning theory. The experiment being
performed involved dogs and mild electrical shocks. Initially, the dogs were restrained in a hammock
and they would receive a mild electric shock every time a specific sound was heard. After a
conditioning period, the dogs were removed from the restrictive hammocks and placed into boxes.
The boxes did not restrain the dogs in any manner, and they could easily jump out of the boxes in
order to avoid the electrical shock at any time. The dogs involved in this experiment never tried to
escape from the boxes. The dogs had learned in the previous conditioning that the shock was not
based upon their behavior and it was unavoidable. The dogs had developed a feeling of helplessness
that had overwhelmed their beings, that they quit trying to avoid the electrical shocks and just
accepted it as fate

Persuasive Speech About Organ Donation
There are currently 115,930 people on the national list awaiting an organ transplant ( Data ). These
people wait patiently as death knocks on their door. In America, we can do so much to ensure that
people will live on with the donations of organs. Unfortunately, many are unaware of the amount of
people who are dying that are waiting for an organ. Organ donation is a great way to save someone s
life, and continue the life of a loved one. Although it is a great way to give someone a new life many
people are uninformed about donation and how valuable organs are. For example, did you know that
in order for you to be recognized as a valid donor you must sign the back of your license? The amount
of knowledge that the general public has about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is very difficult for some people because many do not know what organs are eligible for
donation. When people think of organ donation most think kidney and heart donation, there is so much
more than that, for example, you can donate almost any organ that you use or do not use for that
matter. You can also donate tissues such as skin, cartilage, and you can also donate bone marrow. The
waiting list for organs is never ending, as of December 15th, 2017 there are 115,930 people on the list
for an organ and for some it is their fate because they know that this is their last option to live, and
many will not make it off this list alive ( Data ). Everyday there are on average 20 people that die
awaiting an organ ( Data ). For many people, the ability to receive an organ is almost out of the
question because when an organ becomes available doctors will match the organ to the recipient with
the closest height and weight to the donor. They will also look at the medical urgency, blood, and the
size of the organ (2). If a person were to need an organ that is a rare blood type or if the organ needed
is an unusual shape or size, it will become very difficult to find a match in all categories. This is very
difficult for people to understand because you can not put a heart from a 250lbs man into a 130lbs
woman just because they have the same blood type.
Every 10 minutes a person is added to the donor list, which includes over 115,000 people awaiting

The Date the World Went to War
In 1914 Bosnia was holding the annual summer manoeuvers of the Austro Hungarian army that were
centered on the XV and XVI corps there. It was said it was beautiful Sunday morning as it was bright
and sunny that day. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was there serving as the inspector of the army. It was
announced in March that the Archduke Franz Ferdinand would be attending this event, and would be
visiting Sarajevo as well. Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated by Gavrilo
Princip on June 28th, 1914 in Sarajevo as an act of terror by Princip, on behalf of the Slavic
Nationalist Black Hand Organization. This date is often associated with being the start of the First
World War. Franz Ferdinand was an Archduke of Austria Este, Austro Hungarian and Royal Prince of
Hungary and of Bohemia. He was born in Graz, Austria, and was the eldest son of Archduke Karl
Ludwig of Austria and was the younger brother of Franz Joseph and Maximilian. In 1889 Ferdinand s
cousin committed suicide at his hunting lodge. This changed his life drastically because this meant his
father was in line for the throne. Shortly after gaining the throne Ferdinand s father passed away from
typhoid fever. With the death of his father Franz was now in charge of the throne.1
Franz Ferdinand was enlisted into the Austro Hungarian Army at a young age. He was promoted often,
and was even appointed lieutenant by the age of fourteen. He followed that by becoming a captain at

patients with triploid CTCs 3.The triploid CTCs 3 group also had higher overall survival than the

The film I chose was Batman and Bill, a documentary about the man that never got the credit he

gossipy tidbits twirled that the Caped Crusader had another father. Who was this man? Batman and
Bill recounts the account of the un credited maker of Batman, and a campaign to bring him justice.
You can see Kane s name in every book or movie involving Batman but not everyone actually knew
who created the Dark Knight we all know and love. Until a devoted fan and author wouldn t stop until

Situs Inversus
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there are approximately three million
babies born in the United States each year (Martin et al.). While there is always risk that a baby could
have any number of health conditions, one rarely occurring condition is situs inversus. Situs refers to
the position of an organ, with situs solitus being the ordinary arrangement of organs (Dictionary).
Situs inversus is when the organs in the chest and abdomen are mirrored, or opposite, of where their
ordinary location should be. This is a unique genetic condition that affects 1 in 10,000 babies born
each year ( 15 Incredible Situs Inversus Statistics ). While situs inversus is the general term used, there
are three subtypes of the condition that can occur: dextrocardia, levocardia and ambiguous. The two
main subtypes of situs inversus are dextrocardia and levocardia, with the third subtype being situs
ambiguous. The differences between the two main subtypes are based on the position of the heart. If
the heart is still on the left side yet the rest of the organs are flipped, it is considered situs inversus
with levocardia. However, if the heart is on the right side instead of the left, along with the rest of the
organs being flipped, it is considered situs inversus with dextrocardia, also known as situs inversus
totalis, or a true mirror image . Of the two, levocardia is the most rare, with an occurrence rate of only
1 in 22,000 births ( 15 Incredible

Thomas Jefferson Servant Leadership Examples
Introduction
Servant Leadership is a leadership style that primarily focuses on the people side of leadership. It was
developed by Robert Greenleaf in the early 1970s.
Servant leadership theory s emphasis on service to others and recognition that the role of organizations
is to create people who can build a better tomorrow resonates with scholars and practitioners who are
responding to the growing perceptions that corporate leaders have become selfish and who are seeking
a viable leadership theory to help resolve the challenges of the twenty first century (Parris Peachey,
2013, p 378).
President Thomas Jefferson, was a person whose words represented the qualities of servant leadership;

There are times that I have experienced with a few servant leaders, where they can get so caught up in
helping staff that they get too distracted by trying to be helpful. I have also witnessed that a couple of
servant leaders have been taken advantage of, due to their overwhelming desire to help that they don t
see that the employee is playing them and using their kindness as a way to get out of doing the
necessary tasks. My mentor, who is a servant leader herself, often gets yelled at by Sr. Leadership for
appearing to be unfocused, when in fact she is not, she is just trying to make sure that everyone gets
the information/assistance they need to the fullest extent. I have found that it is advantageous, if the
servant leader takes extra effort to be clear, concise, and consistent in their communications to avoid
appearing distracted by other servant leadership goals/priorities.
There are many advantages to practicing servant leadership to be experienced by all stakeholders. A
balance is required of either incorporating other styles when the situation calls for them or there
should be a good mixture of leadership styles among the leaders within the organization. This blend of
leadership styles allows for all levels of employees to feel they play an important role in the success of
the organization while continually

The History of AIDS and HIV
In this HHMI lecture, the speaker, Dr. Ojiktu, combined basic research and clinical and public health
work in her talk just as she does in her everyday work life. She is a medical doctors that sees many
patients between the Boston area and a South African province in which 1 and 5 people are infected
with the a virus that causes aids. She discuses the microscopic realm of the virus and virus infected
cells to AIDS therapies. Dr. Ojiktu treats people with HIV and other infectious diseases. She enjoys
linking what is happening here and overseas. She also works on a team to develop programs and do
research concerning aids. In 1980 a strange new disease was growing, starting in Los Angeles. This
disease presented vague symptoms such as weight loss, lack of energy, diarrhea, fevers and sweats,
rashes, and swollen lymph nodes. These symptoms could be caused by any viral infectious. The
unique thing is that these systems were chronic, progressive, and debilitating. Some patients presented
very bad shortness of breath and a bad cough. With this they found that the patients had a rare fungal
infection called Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP). There were also some cases concerning these
symptoms in New York City. These cases are rare so the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
noticed a spike in the drug Pentamidine (a drug used to treat PCP, typically used on cancer patients).

An Article From The New York Times
This analysis is about an article from The New York Times How Do We Get More People to Have
Good Lives? by Thomas B. Edsall. Edsall is an American journalist and academic. In his article,
Edsall argues that in order to make the future young poor get out of poverty, America needs to treat
both private and public sectors in early childhood programs equally. To start his article, Edsall
mentions the Obama administration s big investment in education to promote math, reading, and
science skills for the school children. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, from
2007 to 2013, the reading scores of fourth graders have increased 0.45 percent, and the math scores
from them too have grown 0.83 percent. The attempt of trying to raise test scores from the government
shows that both cognitive and character skills place a significant part in life opportunities as well as
weapons in the contest for economic and social status. Edsall moves on with an example from the
book Persistence, Privilege, and Parenting. The book discusses that children with better background
can achieve more in life and are more likely to raise their own children better than others. For general
knowledge, cognitive skills come from a shift in knowledge based economy due to the decline in
manufacturing employment, the growth of the technology and financial sectors, and labor recruitment
from a global talent pool. Edsall makes a comment on this problem of education reform that it is too

Speech For A Introductory Speech On Procrastination
Introductory paragraph:
Hook: (I am sitting there) and I wonder about my homework then I say oh when I am going to be
presenting my speech and then I say oh I ran out of time.
Greeting: Good afternoon, judges, teachers, and fellow classmates
Introduction to topic: Today I will be talking about something horrible we have all done before. Today
I m going to share with you some statistics that I can t believe affect us all. According to the Brandon
Gaille website in the article about 17 lazy procrastination statistics, they said that 85 to 95 percent of
students in North America procrastinate and the number of chronic procrastinators has quadrupled
during the last thirty years?
What is procrastination?
I know some of you are sitting there wondering what procrastination is. Well, procrastination is the
action of putting off tasks that are planned to be done for tasks that are of lesser importance. So if you
think of it, you are actually trying to sabotage your success. There are actually two types of
procrastinators one is the situational procrastinator and the other is a chronic procrastinator. A
situational procrastinator usually procrastinates because of how they feel about a particular task
(usually because we don t like it). Chronic procrastinators procrastinate in almost every situation, and
that is the normal for them. So is procrastination laziness or an illness? Procrastination could be a
physiological illness if the person procrastinates because of

Rhetorical Analysis Of Fuck Tha Police

it reveal racism and police brutality towards African Americans, but it was a real eye opener for the
whole world to see how Caucasian people treated people of color back then. The song transcended
into a slogan and is now a movement in pop culture all over the world today, you see it on posters,

Sociological Explanations For Gender Differences
Outline and Assess Sociological Explanations for Gender Differences in Crime Rates
Current statistics show that men commit 80% of all crime and women commit only 20%. However
there are arguments to suggest that the statistics highlight an under representation of female
criminality, and there are many sociological arguments to suggest that female criminals are treated
more leniently. On the other hand, some sociologists believe women are treated more harshly when
they commit certain types of crime. This essay aims to assess the reasons for gender differences in
reported crime rates.
Official crime rates are measured by crimes reported and recorded by the police and criminal justice
system, and are collected by the Home Office. Frances Heidensohn (1975) believes that male
criminality is 5 times higher than female criminality, which current data supports. However, Otto
Pollak (1961) was the first sociologist to argue that crime rates for female crime were inaccurate. He
believed that women were treated more leniently by the police and criminal justice system, which
highlighted the under representation of female criminality in the official statistics. He argued that
women were more likely to commit crimes such as petty theft, prostitution and criminal abortions,
which were then likely to be treated more leniently. Pollak s theories have been widely criticised and
may not be relevant today; indeed he failed to take into account the decriminalisation of abortion in
many of the

Background research and short explanation
Although the global economic crisis has weakened consumer confidence there is a remarkable
consumption phenomenon in fashion market. Fast fashion is a new word used in fashion scene to say
that designs move from runaway speedily so as to take the latest fashion at Fashion Week in both the
spring and the fall of every year. These trends are designed and produced fast and cheaply to enable
the mainstream consumer to take benefit of contemporary clothing styles with a lower price. This

An Important Aspect Of Anterior Cruciate Ligament...
Introduction An important aspect of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a postoperative
rehabilitation program that aims to return the patient to their daily work activities as soon as possible.
There are many variations to a rehabilitation program that have common checkpoints that a physical
trainer strives to complete. One variation that is used deals with neuromuscular electrical stimulation
and its use to counteract strength loss present after ACL reconstruction. The purpose of the
randomized controlled trial was to compare the effect of utilizing traditional neuromuscular electrical
stimulation (NMES) or a neuromuscular electrical stimulation integrated knee sleeve to a regular
postoperative rehabilitation program.
Background The primary goals of rehabilitation of ACL reconstruction are to reduce inflammation,
regain normal range of motion, recover neuromuscular strength and functional performance, and
ultimately retrain the patient s body to perform everyday activities once again. Superimposing NMES
on a voluntary muscular contraction was shown to be more beneficial to the patient than utilizing a
NMES or voluntary muscular contraction separately. Intensity and duration of the NMES treatments
were important factors that influenced treatment outcomes as well as overall patient compliance when
high stimulation levels were applied. There were two different means that NMES was administered, a
traditional Polystim device with lead wires and a Kneehab

Free-Radical Chain Reaction Lab Report
Free radical chain reactions involve the formation of halides and alkyl halides by reacting diatomic
halogens with reactive hydrogens attached to hydrocarbons. In this experiment, diatomic bromine was
reacted with various arenes to produce hydrobromic acid and alkyl halides. The mechanism behind
this reaction can be characterized by three distinct phases: initiation, propagation, and termination.
During the initiation step, bromine radicals are produced via thermal or photochemical homolysis.
These bromine radicals then react with hydrogens attached to a hydrocarbon in the propagation step to
produce hydrobromic acid and a carbon radical. The chain reaction continues since the carbon radical
formed can react with another diatomic bromine molecule, producing a carbon bromine bond and
regenerating a bromine radical. The termination step ends the reaction by reacting two bromine
radicals with each other, lowering the concentration of highly reactive bromine radicals in solution. ...

For example, when propane and diatomic bromine are reacted together, a 3:97 ratio of primary alkyl
halide to secondary alkyl halide is produced. In contrast, when propane and diatomic chlorine are
reacted together, a theoretical 3:1 ratio of primary alkyl halide to secondary alkyl halide is produced;
experimentally, the ratio is closer to 45:55. Thus, it was determined that diatomic bromine was better
suited to examine the reaction rates of the various

Food Stamp Program
The Food Stamp Program, now known as, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, is the U.S.
largest food assistance agency, whose annual budget is $75 billion (U.S. Dept. of Agri., 2012). SNAP
was created in 1969 to help combat hunger and improve the nutrition and health of low income
families. Indeed, the federal government is acting irresponsibly and contributing to Americas obesity
epidemic by allowing SNAP participants to purchase junk food, such as soda; therefore, sugary based
beverages should be eliminated as an acceptable food item, expand knowledge regarding nutrition
education and wellness programs and lastly, revise SNAP to meet current dietary guidelines and
restrict unhealthy foods to benefit recipients. Almost half of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Hunt For Bullwinkle
The Hunt For Bullwinkle Are you going hunting today or not Buck ? Father had asked. In just a
minute, I am getting ready right now . Buck has been on the trail for a huge buck for nearly four years
now. The deer has earned the nickname of Bullwinkle. Trail cameras that had been set out to try and
capture this humongous beast, has only captured his picture one time...and only half of his body. It
could be seen that he was the largest buck around the place. Well I am going to the woods now, I can
feel it in my blood and bones that Bull will come out today exclaimed Buck. Buck was so excited to
go hunting more today than any other day, he knew that today would be the day. As Buck walked to
the woods, he began to move faster than he started off and was soon almost in a jog, all of his
adrenaline was pumping full steam; he realized this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

himself to shoot where he thought the buck would walk. If buck is still enough he just might get a shot

Man Haron Monis Hostage Crisis Case Study
The hostage taker situation that I chose for the previous assignment was about Man Haron Monis, who
took 17 hostages in Sydney, Australia. The type of hostage for this case was a barricade siege situation
which means that the police officers knew the exact location of where he was keeping the hostages.
Man Haron Monis did have a logistical but not negotiated success in his operation. What does having
success in a hostage situation mean? According to Scott and Sandler ( (1987) , logistical success is
whether the mission went to plan, for example, did the hostage takers board the plane, or did they
manage to capture the embassy hostages (Wilson 2015)? He had a logistical success because Monis
was able to capture the seventeen hostages inside

Cultures And Beliefs Of The Blackfoot Indian Tribe
The Blackfoot Indian Tribe The Blackfoot Indians were a very remarkable tribe. They have unique
and interesting way to live, which I find fascinating. They live in the Northwestern United States and
Canada. The Blackfoot Tribe consists of four Blackfoot nations who have the same cultural
background but different leaderships. Those nations are the Siksika Nation, the Kainai or Blood
Nation, the Pikanii or Peigan Nation, and the Blackfeet Nation. The Blackfoot Indians are a nomadic
American Indian tribe that migrated to the to Northwestern United States. The first three nations are in
Alberta, Canada and the fourth nation is in Montana. Most Blackfoot people still live in this region
today. The Blackfoot Indians had a unique culture that was very important to them. The Blackfeet
speak Algonquian, an eastern native language, this made many believe that the Blackfeet migrated to
the Great Plains from the eastern woodlands many centuries before Europeans came to America. This
made them one of the oldest Great Plains tribes. Their culture revolves around warfare. They mostly
eat bison (buffalo) and horse. Since, the Blackfeet were nomadic they lived in Buffalo skin tipis, that
could be moved easily. They depended on the buffalo everywhere the went. The buffalo was used for
their food, clothing, shelter, and equipment. They had no interests in art . For example, pottery and
basketry. The Blackfeet also occasionally hunted other game, such as deer, moose, and elk. The

Autism And Children Essay
Childhood Disorders
Autism and Children
Abnormal Psychology
Professor Bruce Cameron
July 22, 2007
Abstract: Autism is a brain development disorder that is found in children usually before the age of
three. Autism affects children and their social interactions, impaired communication, and restricted
and repetitive behavior. (www.wikipedia.org) The number of children that have been diagnosed with
autism is dramatically increasing. Boys are four times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with
autism. Signs of autism include visual impairments such as lack of eye contact, speech impairments
and limited speech, and restrictive interests and repetitive behavior. Treatment for children with autism

They are also less likely to ask for something such as a drink or snack, or share experiences such as
telling their parent what they did that day or what they found digging in the mud. They have difficulty
being creative when playing. They are commonly engaged in repetitive behavior which is divided into
five categories: stereotype: hand flapping, head rolling, or body rocking; compulsive behavior:
arranging objects in a certain order; sameness: resistance to change; ritualistic behavior: performs
same activity in the same way everyday; restricted behavior: limited focus, interests and activities; and
self injury: movements that can injure themselves such as biting. The causes of autism are somewhat a
mystery. Many blame genetics and environmental causes. Researchers of autism reason that it is so
hard to define the cause because it is not a single disorder, but a spectrum of disorders. Genetic factors
are the most significant cause for autism spectrum disorders. Early studies of twins found the average
concordance for identical twins to be 70% and estimated heritability to be over 90%, in other words,
that genetics explains over 90% of whether a child will develop autism. Many of the non autistic co
twins had learning or social disabilities. For adult siblings the risk for having one or more features of
the broader autism phenotype might be as high as 30%.

A Brief Note On Parking At Grand Valley
The $260 Difference: Parking at Grand Valley As I was growing up I remember how excited I was for
my sixteenth birthday. I would finally receive my license and I would be able to drive the gold Pontiac
G6 that sat in my driveway for three months prior to my birthday. I was looking forward to driving
myself to school. At that time I was unaware that my high school required a parking permit in order to
have a car parked in their lot. Parking permits were $100 for the year, which seemed outrageous since
there were more than enough spots for every student and the parking lot was recently repaved. As I
grew even older and decided to come to college, I realized that parking on campus was going to be
$360 for a full year. Luckily, I had enough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In all of those expenses, parking is not included and is just another added fee. On top of that a few
schools in Michigan charge under $180/semester. For example, Northern Michigan University
chargers $140/semester, Aquinas College charges $150 a semester, Ferris State charges $170/year and
Michigan State charges $290/year. As a college student, I don t understand why Grand Valley s price
for parking permits is so much higher than other schools. It seems like every other year the price
increases. Grand Valley increased their parking permits to $180 per semester in May of 2014,
according to Lisa Garringer. While some students understand the need for the extra cost for parking,
there are some students who do not realize the importance of that cost. One of the reasons that GVDP
has this fee for parking is due to the limited number of parking spots. In fact, there are only 11,400
parking spots between the Allendale and Pew campuses (Garringer). With 25,094 students enrolled
that is only enough parking for 45% of students. Although not all students have cars at school, that
reason alone is not enough for parking permits to be at such a high price. Some of the students who
purchased a parking permit aren t aware of what that money is funding and don t understand why the
price is so high. Some students are misled about where the money from the parking permits is actually

Political Hegemony In Canada
Political hegemony, a process by which the state exercises its power at a variety of levels, is
particularly important when studying women and gender because the construction of the state is
dependent upon its ability to integrate and control its citizens. In Sisters or Strangers? the collection of
essays explores numerous ways in which the British and then Canadian state integrated and controlled
its diverse population. Using three chapters, Sisterhood versus Discrimination: Being a Black African
Francophone Immigrant Woman in Montreal and Toronto by Gertrude Mianda, Jell O Salads, One
Stop Shopping, and Maria the Homemaker: The Gender Politics of Food by Franca Iacovetta and
Valerie J. Korinek, and Turning Strangers into Sisters? Missionaries and Colonization in Upper
Canada by Cecilia Morgan, in addition to class discussions, I will address who the state is interested in
controlling, how they go about doing this, how the concept of gender is employed within this process,
and how women have resisted these hegemonic processes.
Firstly, Gertrude Mianda s chapter examines black immigrant African women s experiences in relation
to gender norms and the domestic sphere in Canada. Within this chapter, Mianda notes how the state
utilized a number of strategies in controlling these black immigrant women. For instance, the
percentages of African immigrants to Canada has increased over the decades (Mianda 268), and, [l]ike
most permanent migrants, Africans who establish themselves ... Show more content on

issues of gender, and how some of these women have resisted political hegemonic processes. As

how it controls its

Plato s Influence on the Western Civilization
Plato and His Relation to Western Civilization Plato is one of the succinct psychologists, analyst, and
scholar the world has ever had. He is a lucrative figure in the birth, generation, and early development
of the western civilization. His contributions through ethics, politics, religion, symposiums, and
dialogues with Socrates exemplify a myriad of his works since he was a young scholar. He
participated in a number of events, theoretical appearances, and analysis, and posting of theories and
precepts, which gave birth to the present knowledge in psychology, religion, and other disciplines of
study in the world. It is with immediate agreement that Plato had a lot of influence on the western
civilization. Plato had an extensive relation to western civilization (Mason, 2010). Plato is seen as an
important figure in western civilization in many ways. For instance, early Christianity is a product of
Plato s activities and contributions. Plato liked to analyze and give connotations, which backed and
uplifted the various degrees and agreements as regards religion in the world. The present sense of
western spirituality is just but a making of Plato characteristics. Concerning the western religion, Plato
had little influence and use of body in religion. This is depicted by the present western civilization in
which much of the activities involve spirituality and not the real physical body. In many western
activities, there are the presence of ascetics, a tendency, and

A Lexical Pragmatic Analysis of Proverbs in Femi...
This essay is a pragmatic reading of moral and socio political decadence in Femi Osofisan s Midnight
Hotel. It does this by analyzing ten out of twenty five proverbs deployed in the text. In analyzing the
proverbs, this essay observes that each has at least an ad hoc constituent which requires semantic
modulation to get at the meanings of the proverbs. This modulation is not arbitrary, but contextually
negotiated until the reader reaches his optimal relevance.
Wilson and Carston argue that metaphors are cases of ad hoc constructions (7), for instance, when a
speaker says, The boy is a lion . While a literary scholar would see this as metaphorical, Wilson and
Carston believe that the above sentence is a case of the use of an ad hoc ... Show more content on

One of such is with Ossie Onuorah Enekwe where he says that:
To get desperately close to the spectator, to each and every one I have trapped in the darkness or half
light, to penetrate very close and intimate, like a knife in the ribs. I want to make that spectator happy
but uncomfortable. I want to turn him open, guts and all, spice him, cook him in the filthy, stinking
broil of our history. I want him washed inside out, in the naked truth, and then I sew him back again a
different man. (18)
The playwright s closeness to a reader of Midnight Hotel is predicated on the contemporary subject
matters raised in the text. It is true the essence of the play is to effect a social change (as it is with most
literary works), but this change cannot occur if the reader finds it difficult to comprehend what the text
says. Thus this essay lends a hand in that direction, by working out an easy, systematic, pragmatic
format for understanding Osofisan s Midnight Hotel.
Commenting on the playwright s art, Awodiya submits that Osofisan is prolific and theatrically fertile
in creating flexible dramatic forms that have great stage adaptability (15). Awodiya further notes
Osofisan s penchant for invoking traditional African elements of music, dance, songs, mime and
improvisation (15). One of such is proverbs with which he attaches the African sense. Awodiya
acknowledges that

  • 2. Iran s Domestic Affairs And Foreign Policy The historical lift of decades long sanctions on Iran earlier this year has sparked numerous discussions about what the future holds for the country. Without a doubt, possibilities that have been blocked by the past economic sanctions are now accessible to Iran. However, it s crucial to understand that change cannot happen overnight. In fact, it may take years or even decades for Iran to catch up with the majority of countries around the world. There are some notable events in Iran s domestic affairs that can assist us in navigating where the semi theocratic regime appears to be headed. One of them would be the recent Iranian election and its conceivable outcomes. This paper will examine the possible progresses post sanctions Iran can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nevertheless, we may deduce that recent elections suggested Iran s leaders and not merely reformists have learned that the most effective way to mitigate this dilemma is to forge a peace deal with some of their rivals. The prospects for such a deal emerged when Rouhani publicly assailed the Guardian Council, asserting that the parliament is the house of the people and not a particular faction. 2 While the Council of Guardians ignored this signal and chose instead to disqualify Hassan Khomeini along with thousands of other would be candidates persistent criticism of the council s actions from Rouhani, Rafsanjani, and others compelled it to readmit some 1,500 aspiring candidates political novices, to be sure, rather than veteran reformists, but whose ranks included many supporters of Rouhani and his allies. These dynamics suggest a grudging readiness by Iran s top leadership to negotiate a political accommodation that could very slowly, yet eventually favor greater pluralism and openness in the Islamic Republic. This seems to be the objective of Iran s reformists, who with Rouhani s support have signaled a growing measure of political sophistication, strategic vision, and unity.3 In the end, no ... The tenor sax was really the star of this piece the band was really following him instead the tenor sax kind of keeping time and beat. The band played about 2 more songs and LCHS Jazz I came on to stage about played another 3 songs as well. One the played was Called The Chicken arranged by Kris Berg/Alfred James . This songs included a lot of saxophones solos from alto sax to baritone sax. The trumpet also played a big part to for solo, this piece they did lot of crescendos as well as decrescendos. It gave a more bold jazz feeling which I really enjoyed. Last but not least the NMSU jazz I came about on the stage to finish out the concert. They had four songs to play instead of three like the other bands. They started off with Cell Talk composed by Sammy Nestico . This piece was a calmer piece like a modern typical jazz piece. There was great transitions as well bold accents through the pieces. The band ends with a piece called Uno Mas composed by Paul Lopez . Some are political, some are societal, and still, some are religious, but only modern day sees the conclusions to these affairs. Particularly, a human rights violation occurs when a government or other authority goes against any basic right that all humans are born with. Some of these rights include the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Furthermore, only in the modern day is a violation such as injustice realized and dealt with appropriately. In the text, it says, The National Party passed and enforced laws that kept white and black South Africans separated and benefited whites while stripping non whites of their rights (Doc 5). This quote explains that the National Party had consciously made a decision to be discriminative against blacks and appraise whites. Another basic right of all humans is that everyone is equal and everyone, no matter their race, should be treated the same. The National Party is clearly not honoring this right even in the 20th century. Another example is found when in the text, it says, From 1960 to 1983, the apartheid government forcibly moved 3.5 million black South Africans in one of the largest mass removals of people in modern history (Doc 5). This illustrates the apartheid system in action. Millions of people are being pushed out of their rightful homes because and only because of the color of their skin. Without a doubt, the National Party is not for this fundamental right of equality. On the bright side however, even more recently, the apartheid system has been done away with. It can now be said that just about every modern society is free of racism and discrimination, at least legally (Outside Information). Strifes as such are now only but a memory due to modern ... The security objects are generally most important when the child is about two and a half years old. Because between the ages of two and three children develop the necessary skills that allow them to emotionally relate to people other than the people most important to them (Weiser,1991). • 8. Learned Helplessness Is A Mental Disorder Learned helplessness is a mental disorder that affects many people in our society. The term learned helplessness was first used by Martin Seligman and Steven Maier in the 1960 s. Dictionary.com defines it as a mental condition in which one becomes unable to help oneself due to previous failed attempts at controlling one s life. This is not a genetic disorder that can be passed down from family members, rather a learned behavior that develops due to environmental factors. Seligman and Maier s research demonstrates how the condition occurs. Seligman and Maier s discovery is derived from the results of an experiment based on Pavlov s classical conditioning theory. The experiment being performed involved dogs and mild electrical shocks. Initially, the dogs were restrained in a hammock and they would receive a mild electric shock every time a specific sound was heard. After a conditioning period, the dogs were removed from the restrictive hammocks and placed into boxes. The boxes did not restrain the dogs in any manner, and they could easily jump out of the boxes in order to avoid the electrical shock at any time. The dogs involved in this experiment never tried to escape from the boxes. The dogs had learned in the previous conditioning that the shock was not based upon their behavior and it was unavoidable. The dogs had developed a feeling of helplessness that had overwhelmed their beings, that they quit trying to avoid the electrical shocks and just accepted it as fate ... You can also donate tissues such as skin, cartilage, and you can also donate bone marrow. The waiting list for organs is never ending, as of December 15th, 2017 there are 115,930 people on the list for an organ and for some it is their fate because they know that this is their last option to live, and many will not make it off this list alive ( Data ). Everyday there are on average 20 people that die awaiting an organ ( Data ). For many people, the ability to receive an organ is almost out of the question because when an organ becomes available doctors will match the organ to the recipient with the closest height and weight to the donor. They will also look at the medical urgency, blood, and the size of the organ (2). If a person were to need an organ that is a rare blood type or if the organ needed is an unusual shape or size, it will become very difficult to find a match in all categories. This is very difficult for people to understand because you can not put a heart from a 250lbs man into a 130lbs woman just because they have the same blood type. Centers For Disease Control And Prevention Situs Inversus According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there are approximately three million babies born in the United States each year (Martin et al.). While there is always risk that a baby could have any number of health conditions, one rarely occurring condition is situs inversus. Situs refers to the position of an organ, with situs solitus being the ordinary arrangement of organs (Dictionary). Situs inversus is when the organs in the chest and abdomen are mirrored, or opposite, of where their ordinary location should be. This is a unique genetic condition that affects 1 in 10,000 babies born each year ( 15 Incredible Situs Inversus Statistics ). While situs inversus is the general term used, there are three subtypes of the condition that can occur: dextrocardia, levocardia and ambiguous. The two main subtypes of situs inversus are dextrocardia and levocardia, with the third subtype being situs ambiguous. The differences between the two main subtypes are based on the position of the heart. If the heart is still on the left side yet the rest of the organs are flipped, it is considered situs inversus with levocardia. However, if the heart is on the right side instead of the left, along with the rest of the organs being flipped, it is considered situs inversus with dextrocardia, also known as situs inversus totalis, or a true mirror image . To start his article, Edsall mentions the Obama administration s big investment in education to promote math, reading, and science skills for the school children. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, from 2007 to 2013, the reading scores of fourth graders have increased 0.45 percent, and the math scores from them too have grown 0.83 percent. The attempt of trying to raise test scores from the government shows that both cognitive and character skills place a significant part in life opportunities as well as weapons in the contest for economic and social status. Edsall moves on with an example from the book Persistence, Privilege, and Parenting. The book discusses that children with better background can achieve more in life and are more likely to raise their own children better than others. For general knowledge, cognitive skills come from a shift in knowledge based economy due to the decline in manufacturing employment, the growth of the technology and financial sectors, and labor recruitment from a global talent pool. Speech For A Introductory Speech On Procrastination Introductory paragraph: Hook: (I am sitting there) and I wonder about my homework then I say oh when I am going to be presenting my speech and then I say oh I ran out of time. Greeting: Good afternoon, judges, teachers, and fellow classmates Introduction to topic: Today I will be talking about something horrible we have all done before. Today I m going to share with you some statistics that I can t believe affect us all. According to the Brandon Gaille website in the article about 17 lazy procrastination statistics, they said that 85 to 95 percent of students in North America procrastinate and the number of chronic procrastinators has quadrupled during the last thirty years? What is procrastination? I know some of you are sitting there wondering what procrastination is. Well, procrastination is the action of putting off tasks that are planned to be done for tasks that are of lesser importance. So if you think of it, you are actually trying to sabotage your success. There are actually two types of procrastinators one is the situational procrastinator and the other is a chronic procrastinator. A situational procrastinator usually procrastinates because of how they feel about a particular task (usually because we don t like it). Chronic procrastinators procrastinate in almost every situation, and that is the normal for them. So is procrastination laziness or an illness? Procrastination could be a physiological illness if the person procrastinates because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the year of 1988, a song called Fuck Tha Police was published and publicly released to the world by the famous rap group N.W.A. on August 9th. The song is an ultimate form of protest. Not only did it reveal racism and police brutality towards African Americans, but it was a real eye opener for the whole world to see how Caucasian people treated people of color back then. The song transcended into a slogan and is now a movement in pop culture all over the world today, you see it on posters, billboards, and even t shirts. • 21. Sociological Explanations For Gender Differences Outline and Assess Sociological Explanations for Gender Differences in Crime Rates Current statistics show that men commit 80% of all crime and women commit only 20%. However there are arguments to suggest that the statistics highlight an under representation of female criminality, and there are many sociological arguments to suggest that female criminals are treated more leniently. On the other hand, some sociologists believe women are treated more harshly when they commit certain types of crime. This essay aims to assess the reasons for gender differences in reported crime rates. Official crime rates are measured by crimes reported and recorded by the police and criminal justice system, and are collected by the Home Office. Frances Heidensohn (1975) believes that male criminality is 5 times higher than female criminality, which current data supports. However, Otto Pollak (1961) was the first sociologist to argue that crime rates for female crime were inaccurate. He believed that women were treated more leniently by the police and criminal justice system, which highlighted the under representation of female criminality in the official statistics. He argued that women were more likely to commit crimes such as petty theft, prostitution and criminal abortions, which were then likely to be treated more leniently. Pollak s theories have been widely criticised and may not be relevant today; indeed he failed to take into account the decriminalisation of abortion in many of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction An important aspect of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a postoperative rehabilitation program that aims to return the patient to their daily work activities as soon as possible. There are many variations to a rehabilitation program that have common checkpoints that a physical trainer strives to complete. One variation that is used deals with neuromuscular electrical stimulation and its use to counteract strength loss present after ACL reconstruction. The purpose of the randomized controlled trial was to compare the effect of utilizing traditional neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) or a neuromuscular electrical stimulation integrated knee sleeve to a regular postoperative rehabilitation program. Background The primary goals of rehabilitation of ACL reconstruction are to reduce inflammation, regain normal range of motion, recover neuromuscular strength and functional performance, and ultimately retrain the patient s body to perform everyday activities once again. Superimposing NMES on a voluntary muscular contraction was shown to be more beneficial to the patient than utilizing a NMES or voluntary muscular contraction separately. Intensity and duration of the NMES treatments were important factors that influenced treatment outcomes as well as overall patient compliance when high stimulation levels were applied. There were two different means that NMES was administered, a traditional Polystim device with lead wires and a Kneehab ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Free-Radical Chain Reaction Lab Report Free radical chain reactions involve the formation of halides and alkyl halides by reacting diatomic halogens with reactive hydrogens attached to hydrocarbons. In this experiment, diatomic bromine was reacted with various arenes to produce hydrobromic acid and alkyl halides. The mechanism behind this reaction can be characterized by three distinct phases: initiation, propagation, and termination. During the initiation step, bromine radicals are produced via thermal or photochemical homolysis. These bromine radicals then react with hydrogens attached to a hydrocarbon in the propagation step to produce hydrobromic acid and a carbon radical. The chain reaction continues since the carbon radical formed can react with another diatomic bromine molecule, producing a carbon bromine bond and regenerating a bromine radical. The termination step ends the reaction by reacting two bromine radicals with each other, lowering the concentration of highly reactive bromine radicals in solution. ... Researchers of autism reason that it is so hard to define the cause because it is not a single disorder, but a spectrum of disorders. Genetic factors are the most significant cause for autism spectrum disorders. Early studies of twins found the average concordance for identical twins to be 70% and estimated heritability to be over 90%, in other words, that genetics explains over 90% of whether a child will develop autism. Many of the non autistic co twins had learning or social disabilities. For adult siblings the risk for having one or more features of the broader autism phenotype might be as high as 30%. ... At that time I was unaware that my high school required a parking permit in order to have a car parked in their lot. Parking permits were $100 for the year, which seemed outrageous since there were more than enough spots for every student and the parking lot was recently repaved. For example, Northern Michigan University chargers $140/semester, Aquinas College charges $150 a semester, Ferris State charges $170/year and Michigan State charges $290/year. As a college student, I don t understand why Grand Valley s price for parking permits is so much higher than other schools. It seems like every other year the price increases. Grand Valley increased their parking permits to $180 per semester in May of 2014, according to Lisa Garringer. While some students understand the need for the extra cost for parking, there are some students who do not realize the importance of that cost. One of the reasons that GVDP has this fee for parking is due to the limited number of parking spots. In fact, there are only 11,400 parking spots between the Allendale and Pew campuses (Garringer). With 25,094 students enrolled that is only enough parking for 45% of students. Although not all students have cars at school, that reason alone is not enough for parking permits to be at such a high price. Using three chapters, Sisterhood versus Discrimination: Being a Black African Francophone Immigrant Woman in Montreal and Toronto by Gertrude Mianda, Jell O Salads, One Stop Shopping, and Maria the Homemaker: The Gender Politics of Food by Franca Iacovetta and Valerie J. Korinek, and Turning Strangers into Sisters? Missionaries and Colonization in Upper Canada by Cecilia Morgan, in addition to class discussions, I will address who the state is interested in controlling, how they go about doing this, how the concept of gender is employed within this process, and how women have resisted these hegemonic processes. Firstly, Gertrude Mianda s chapter examines black immigrant African women s experiences in relation to gender norms and the domestic sphere in Canada. Within this chapter, Mianda notes how the state utilized a number of strategies in controlling these black immigrant women. It is with immediate agreement that Plato had a lot of influence on the western civilization. Plato had an extensive relation to western civilization (Mason, 2010). Plato is seen as an important figure in western civilization in many ways. For instance, early Christianity is a product of Plato s activities and contributions. Plato liked to analyze and give connotations, which backed and uplifted the various degrees and agreements as regards religion in the world. The present sense of western spirituality is just but a making of Plato characteristics. Concerning the western religion, Plato had little influence and use of body in religion. It does this by analyzing ten out of twenty five proverbs deployed in the text. In analyzing the proverbs, this essay observes that each has at least an ad hoc constituent which requires semantic modulation to get at the meanings of the proverbs. This modulation is not arbitrary, but contextually negotiated until the reader reaches his optimal relevance. Wilson and Carston argue that metaphors are cases of ad hoc constructions (7), for instance, when a speaker says, The boy is a lion . (18) The playwright s closeness to a reader of Midnight Hotel is predicated on the contemporary subject matters raised in the text. It is true the essence of the play is to effect a social change (as it is with most literary works), but this change cannot occur if the reader finds it difficult to comprehend what the text says. Thus this essay lends a hand in that direction, by working out an easy, systematic, pragmatic format for understanding Osofisan s Midnight Hotel.
