Ministry Practicum Experience Paper
CHAPTER ONE
` This paper is the final results of my internship ministry practicum II experiences reflection in my
church organization work settings and training. My experiences from different areas of exposure
sharpened my skills for my professional role of the Doctor of Ministry Program in the theological
field of counseling and teaching. My ministry practicum consists of direct involvements with hands
on, real life interactions under the supervision of my Supervisor, Chaplain Andrea Fletcher. This
Comprehensive Written Review analyzes the full spectrum of my observation and participation in
tasks from my Ministry Learning Agreement Form. The opportunity allowed me to view other leaders
in ministry exercising their gift and in turns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Information from chapter one comprised of a summary of my assignments reports from the various
ministries served and class discussions post. Moving forward to chapter two talks more of the vast
amount of lessons learned through the five goals and the effectiveness of actual hands on application:
the practice of communication, pastoral spiritual care, the practice of leadership, engaging diversity,
and handling conflict. There were target events in each goal setting subject. For example, in
communication, my target events were in small groups, classes, writings of creative activities
curriculum, and counseling. In this process, my practice skills supported an audience of women, youth
both boys and girls, and children. The area of pastoral spiritual care involved Bible studies, home
visits, hospital and nursing homes visits, grieving family visits, and prison ministry visits with the
Children of Inmates Program. The practice of leadership comprises of attending events, training, and
assisting in various ministries in need. Engaging diversity involved observing other ministry leaders
engaging in a large church congregation, speaking at women s breakfast or functions, speaking at
funeral services, and assisting in the planning of funeral with family members. Handling conflict dealt
with counseling of premarital sessions, marriage counseling sessions, counseling child abuse sessions,
counseling drug addiction session, counseling depression with childhood sexual abuse sessions and
assisting with crisis individuals seeking assistance through the resources at our church Peacemakers
office. Consequently, chapter three describes the most life changing events causing major setbacks in
this journey of my calling and the solutions involved. Chapter four detailed some specifics on the
results of my self analysis test. Some of the shared data comprised of personal

Allegro molto agitato the battle between life and death offers no respite to the man
Meno mosso the dying man s life passes before him

Death and Trans opens with extended episode in broad tempo. Muted violins and violas followed by
the timpani play a rhythmic figure portraying the dying man s faint heartbeat and breathing. Lyrical
passages for the harp [A later B], winds and muted solo violin evoke his friendly dreams soon

The Republic Of Rome
In modern times our world has been impacted greatly by our government system. In the ancient world
most were mainly affected by their form of government because it was depended on as the structure
and the way of life. When Roman Republic had risen, they had torn the old ways from the people and
fabricated a new way through new leadership. The Republic of Rome, mostly the Patricians and
Plebeians, influenced Rome through its senate, relationships, and laws. Initially, when looking back at
the Roman Republic there are a plethora of elements to observe that made it up. The main thing that
the Republic had since it has risen was its senate. The senate played a vital role in the political
dimension of the Republic itself as one whole. Made up of roughly around three hundred men, they
had adjusted the Roman society to fit the needs it had to have to stay afloat. Senators had taken on
jobs specifically preparing legislation, handling finances, managing foreign relations, and supervising
the state religion (Lassieur 15). This all tied together in what led to orderly conduct and harmony.
SPQR:Senatus Populusque Romanus, better known as the senate and people of Rome, have been
found on Roman carvings (Chandler, Taplin, Bingham 21). Just this piece of evidence shows that they
really did play an important part in the Republic. All of the senators came from being a magistrate
elected by the 4 assemblies (Lassieur 15 17). The four assemblies; Canitia Centuriata, Concilium
Plebis, Comitia

Steve Jobs
The world has always been the people who made the revolution in a particular field of activity.
Christopher Columbus, Nikola Tesla, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and many others have made the
world as it is now. This presentation describes another inventor, Steve Jobs, whose discoveries have
caused a revolution in the IT field. Steven Paul Jobs was born in San Francisco, February 24, 1955.
His biological parents who were not married, adopted him from a family of civil servants from the
South Bay area of San Francisco, Paul and Clara Jobs.
In high school, Steve Jobs decided to go to Reed College in Oregon. However, Steve studied in
college just one semester, then dropped. He devoted much time to the study of Eastern mysticism and
practiced a very strange diet, fasting, then ate some fruit; it was the hippie period of his life.

Casino Industry in Macau
The Casino Industry in Macau
Research Question
I intend to evaluate the Casino Industry in Macau including the reasons for its high demand and
growing success and compare it to the Casino Industry in Las Vegas.
The gaming industry is the livelihood of Macau. It is responsible for 75% of the government s income
and provides the people of Macau with millions of jobs. Even though gambling was first legalized
under Portuguese rule to finance the government, it remains the same under Chinese rule today. The
rules and regulations set forth oversee the casino industry and grant companies with casino
concessions. It is dramatically more profitable than Las Vegas because of the devastating effects of the
American Recession.
Introduction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This only attracted more tourists to the country and encouraged locals to gamble more. The
construction and operation of new casinos also dramatically increased employment rates.
Who Regulates the Casino Industry in Macau? After the casino monopoly ended in 2001, the
government formed rules and regulations that would administer the gaming industry. The dissolution
of the monopoly meant that companies besides STDM were now allowed to build and operate casinos
in Macau. Theses rules and regulations were to ensure that the new casinos were operating properly
and fairly (Loughlin and Pannell).
Soon after the monopoly ended, the Legislative Assembly passed a law (No. 16) that clearly outlined
the definition gambling and casino . The law stated what would be acceptable and what would not be
acceptable in terms of gambling in Macau. It also explained the guidelines for the concession system
and the procedure for bidding. In order to enforce these rules and regulations, the Legislative
Assembly established the Casino Commissions Committee. This committee consists of eight members
and is overseen by the Secretary of Economics and Finance. At the time of its establishment, this man
was Francis Tam Pak Yuen.
The bidding process began in November of 2001. The Casinos Commissions Committee started to

Symbiotic Relationship Lab Report
Parasitic or Mutual Symbiotic Relationship?
Author: Natasha Patel. Lab Partner: Ariana Crolene. Mira Costa College 3333 Manchester Ave
Cardiff, CA 92007.
Abstract:
Our experiment is designed to show the symbiotic relationship between the mycorrhizal fungus and
spinach plant. We constructed a 2X2 table of live molasses and controlled groups. Our hypothesis is
that the live molasses with mycorrhizae group will extend the plants root bodies and increase the total
surface area of the plant. That being said, the fungus and the plant will have a symbiotic mutual
relationship towards each other. Our predictions came out to be false. The controlled groups had a
higher average in shoot length and wet mass, which indicates that the plant and fungus have a parasitic
relationship towards each other.
Introduction: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mycorrhizae benefited from the sugars but the plant did not benefit from the mycorrhizae, which
caused them to not extend their root bodies. The controlled groups had higher averages than the lived
averages. Also, the class averages were similar to our data as well. For future experiments, the plants
with mycorrhizae should be given more molasses, which will allow us to detect if the plant and fungus
have a symbiotic relationship or not. There have been many studies that provide mycorrhizae aiding
plants for nutrients, proper growth, and survival. However, there are experiments that will show
outliers and proving that not all studies are correct, which basically demonstrates the field of biology.
In biology, we constantly perform numerous experiments to validate our hypothesis. But, there are
exceptions when our hypothesis comes out to be false, which always gives us room to modify our
errors. Thus, biology is a never ending field and is constantly growing for new findings in

Persuasive Essay On Confirmation Bias
You see what you see, you hear what you hear but do you always believe what you see and hear. Most
people do believe everything they see and hear because they only remember what confirms their own
bias. We as people associate with others or certain medias that support the beliefs we have, and our
memories help us remember information that can be used as proof to make what we believe seem true.
The only problem that stands in the way is if the information we are receiving is true or not. There is
where most of us go wrong we don t fact check we just assume. We assumed pizzagate was true
without even considering it. Almost everyone uses confirmation bias wheather they realize it or not.
Confirmation bias is used to show intelligence and boosts self esteem, it is heavily influenced in the
news outlets and social media, and has a huge effect on society today.
Confirmation bias is something that every person is susceptible to, unless you know that you re doing
it. Confirmation bias is our tendency to seek out information that we already believe to be true. This
affects how you interpret information, how you seek information, and also how you remember things.
When you look at the world around you, it is the conformation bias in your head that is telling you
certain things to pay attention to more than others. Your brain tends to seek out evidence that confirms
your beliefs about something. You often do this because you do not want to be wrong about something
and will do anything

The Lord Of The Ring Essay
It takes time for a person to developed, no one knows who they are from the very beginning.
People/characters go through events in their life that changes them for better or for worse. In The Lord
of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien we encounter many character that shows growth but one character that
develops for the better is Aragorn. The first thing we are told about Aragorn is from Gandalf letter to
Frodo Not all gold glitter which tells the reader to not underestimate him, but when Aragorn is first
introduced in the story, we assume he is just a ranger and nothing more, he doesn t seem like someone
which much help or of use but it turns out that he is actually Isildur heir which makes him the rightful
king of Gondor, and as we later see in the novel one of the biggest help they could of find. Aragorn s
character grows so much from his motivation to protect middle earth, his interaction with the people
around him and finally his acceptance as role of king. The first key characteristic for Aragorn
character would have to be his motivation to protect middle earth form Sauron evil. Throughout the
novel we see how Aragorn motivation encourages him and pushes him to continue on with his mission
and the journey. His first mission was to get Frodo to Mordor to destroy the ring. which he does with
the company of the ring. but even when they get separated Aragorn does not let the journey end. He
knows It can t just end without doing anything so he takes action to complete

The Cohort Component Method For Many State And Local...
3.5 Cohort Component Method
One way to Project an area s population is the cohort component method, which is used for many state
and local governments. This method offers in depth demographic statistics on why and how the
population changes. There are 2 steps in this method. The first is to separate the population into
groups of age and sex. The second step is to implement fertility, mortality, and migration rates to each
distinct group. There are some things that have to be taken into account for this method before
computing anything. The first is that all of the age groups have to be the same in that the years in the
cohorts (n) are matching. The second is that the amount of years in the projection intervals (z) should
identify with the number of years in the cohorts (n). The last one is that all the rates used in this model
have to be altered to show five year projection periods.
3.5.1 The Mortality Component
The first thing we do is calculate the female population likely to survive until the year 2005. There are
two things that can happen which rely on the age specific survival rate (nsrx). The populations for
females in the initial year which is 2000 (nFx 2000) can move in the start of 2005 to the following age
cohort (n SFx+z 2005) or will live from 2000 to 2005 (n DFx 2000 2005). The first calculation is to
multiply the launch year of the female population in 2000 by its age specific survival rate. n SFx+z
2005 =( nFx 2000 )( nsrx )
nFx 2000 is the female

Frankenstein the Modern Prometheus
You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the
ocean does not become dirty. Mahatma Gandhi. In Frankenstein, the creature encounters many
judgmental people that are mean to him at first glance. The story of Frankenstein compared to real life
has many of the same problems. This story relates and will relate to society throughout time because
these problems are not going anywhere any time soon. The story of Frankenstein explores themes of
religion, science and societal values that still present problems in today s world. For starters, religion
has always had a huge input on the way man was created and how they should be created to this day.
In the story Frankenstein the creature is created by Victor in his house. Religion sees that being
unnaturally made is a bad thing and many would agree with that statement. Also, in Greek mythology
there is a hero by the name of Prometheus who is seen by some as good and some as bad but the
creature and Prometheus have much in common. Prometheus can be seen as representative of the
biblical Lucifer who was cast out of heaven . Harold Bloom notes, however, there is a resemblance
between the protagonist of Shelley s novel and the protagonist of Samuel Taylor Coleridge s poem
The Ancient Mariner. According to Bloom, Coleridge s Mariner is of the line of Cain, and the irony of

To Kill A Mockingbird And A Separate Peace By John Knowles
The informed, written analysis and evaluation of a work of literature is known as literary criticism,
which is based on a literary theory. An examples of such a literary theory is intertextual criticism,
involving the comparison of two separate novels. Written by Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird is
comparable to A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Both novels are fictitious and showcase universal
symbols, themes, characters, and numerous other literary devices utilized by authors. Similarities
between these two novels are exhibited by the author s use of a tree as a symbol for life and death, the
victim, archetype, and weather as a symbol for change. One reoccurring symbol is the representation
of a tree as a symbol for life and death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In A Separate Peace, the Super Suicide Society, in which the boys at Devon jumped off the tree into
the creek, serving as a cementation of Gene and Finny s friendship. The activities on the tree provided
an outlet of fun during the boys lives at school and during the war. But, the very same tree led to Finny
s death, and Gene s figurative death, making it a symbol of the contrast between life and death. The
victim archetype is displayed in the characters of both novels. During the trial, Tom says to Mr.
Gilmer, no suh, scared I d hafta face up to what I didn t do (Lee 225). Upon being asked why Tom ran
away if he was innocent, he replies that he didn t want to be wrongfully convicted, which is exactly
what unfolds. Despite his credible testimony and the clear evidence of Bob and Mayella s lies, Tom
must suffer for the wrongdoings of the Ewells, with virtually no escape from his fate. Because of the
instilled prejudice into society, Tom is ostracized by the townspeople. Similarly, Phineas suffers
physically when Gene states that my knees bent and I jounced the limb. Finny...broke through the little
branches below and hit the bank with a sickening, unnatural thud...one of his legs had been shattered
(Knowles 60 61). Overcome by jealousy, Gene causes Finny to suffer through physical pain in the
months to come. Due to someone else s impulsive, but intentional, actions,

Body Detoxification System Essay
What is Detoxification? We all try our best to keep clean on the outside. But very few persons pay
attention to internal hygiene. Fasting is one method of keeping your internal environment clean. It is a
form of body cleansing and detoxification that s gaining global acceptance. But the practice is not
entirely new. Indeed, for centuries ancient cultures had recognized and employed fasting as an
effective and inexpensive method of cleansing the internal organs and rejuvenating the body. Done
properly, fasting gives your body some breather, enabling it to flush out built up toxins and other
impurities that accumulate overtime from the food we eat, the air we breathe, the beverages we

He believes that once the internal organs have become reasonably compromised as a result of toxins, it
often takes the body some time to clean up. A detox program that includes fasting will hasten that
cleansing process. Our modern diet is loaded with substances that clog the colon. This results in the
accumulation of toxins in the colon which are gradually transferred to fat deposits in the body. Every
body detox program should therefore start with cleansing the colon. Bennett s detoxification program
for example, involves fasting on liquids for some days, say 2 3 days. This should be followed by a
carefully chosen 5 day detox diet. This approach will give the digestive system ample time to rest and
clean itself up. Other experts recommend fasting on fruit juice, vegetable juice, and water for three to
seven days as an alternative way to clear the body of toxins. This method works much the same way
as the one earlier discussed. Another method preferred by most persons involves drinking ONLY

In the end, the action game players were up to 25 percent faster at making conclusions and were just
as accurate as the other group. This study concludes that action video game players brains are more
efficient at collecting visual and auditory information and make faster and just as accurate decisions
(Video Games Lead to Faster Decisions). The study stated that the reason why action video game
players can make faster decisions is because they use a process that is probabilistic inference.
According to the same article, probabilistic inference is when the brain continuously gathers multiple

One of the biggest factors that video games have impacted is peoples health. Video games have good
and bad factors to peoples health. For example some problems that video games have impacted are
obesity, aggressive behavior and cognition, sleep deprivation and many others. They have also
impacted the problem of addiction. One would figure out after researching this subject that just being
a male gender increases addiction of video games. Video games can also be a healthy and therapeutic.
Games also change how people think and how peoples brain works. They have enhanced peoples

Overcoming Adversity In The Film October Sky
I recite, success doesn t come serene, success must be earned, success requires determination
(Anonymous Writer). Everyone has an endeavour to become extraordinary. Consequently, many
people do not possess the obligatory attributes to accomplish an aim or motive in their lives. In the
film October Sky, Homer Hickam the protagonist overcame a sequence of calamities along his journey
to become a successful rocket fabricating engineer. He clawed his way out of an unenlightened cave
where coal mining was his only fate. Where there lacked serendipity, there was no surmise for

Especially when one knows the odds of becoming successful coming from a town like Coalwood is
little to slim. The support of family members is remarkably crucial in times of making difficult
decisions such as choosing to work in a coal mine or choosing to find another path to success. In spite
of this, Homer managed to be persistent throughout his work, and with indefatigability continued to

Driverless Cars
Your future has arrived, are you ready? Twenty years ago if you had told somebody that driverless
vehicles would be driving us around our cities and on our highways, they would have smiled and said
only in the movies. Now it is not so farfetched. Driverless cars are fast becoming reality. Just as
computers did, driverless cars will change the way we live. And like any other innovation, it would
free up time for more creative thinking. In recent years, we have seen small improvements to our cars,
making them more automated. Bluetooth and GPS play a big role while driving our cars. GPS will
navigate for us without using a map, and Bluetooth allows us to go hands free to concentrate on
driving. So, is a fully autonomous car good or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People that are blind could then have the ability to drive wherever they so choose. In addition, people
who use a wheelchair every day could simply roll up to the car and go. Driverless cars would
drastically cut traffic tickets in half. You would also have more time for other things while your car is
driving you such as working on homework, talking on the phone, drinking coffee, and the list goes on
and on. There is a long list of positive things about driverless cars, but there is another side to that
coin. What happens when there is a failure from the computer or other components of the car? Would
this cause serious accidents and injuries or even the worst case scenario death? According to the
article Are We Ready for Driverless Cars, Currently, the car s sensors are unable to cope with poor
weather conditions like heavy rain and snow covered streets . (Ibrahim Balkhy, 2013) Another
unanswered question that has come up is who would be at fault if an accident were to occur and how
would it be paid for. This would undoubtedly point the finger at the cars manufactures since there is
no longer human error in the equation. Lawyers would have a heyday. I think driverless cars would be
safe about 95% of the time just like flying an airplane or a jetliner but if an accident were to occur, it
would most likely be devastating. Finally, there is the issue about privacy. Autonomous cars have GPS

Crohn s Disease In Cow Milk
Briefly, The physiological breakdown of two cow milk proteins casein and lactoglobulin to amino
acids is abnormal, forming a powerful opioid, casomorphin. If the formation of the opioid that cause
the brain symptoms but if continued for years will eventually cause permanent brain damage, creating
a window of opportunity to cure autism at an early age. Because cow milk caseins produce enough
opioid to completely remove cow milk and its products from the diet to alleviate the symptoms. The
symptoms are then removed but the children are still ill. Camel milk does not contain the two caseins

Crohn s Disease : Scientific evidence indicates that it is not primarily an autoimmune disease but
rather a bacterial infection caused by Johne s Disease in cows, the bacteria being MAP
(Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis). The symptoms of these cows are identical to those of
persons with Crohn s Disease. It has been established that MAP passes into cow milk and is not
destroyed by pasteurization. The MAP then enters the intestinal tissue as a saprophyte, not creating
any symptoms. A very severe emotional stress activates the MAP and it becomes active in the
intestinal tissue. The reaction of the body is to send antibodies to the intestines but as they can not
pass into the thick tissue they attack the intestines themselves, creating an autoimmune disease. Camel

Wisdom, passion and dedication are the necessity traits to have when writing a good book in order to
provide the reader with an experience to want more; to want to know more, read more and look into

took real life occurrences from some previous years and wrapped them into a well detailed layout of
the struggles and occurrences that poor minority children once faced when trying to obtain an

educated within their early years when they are continuously cordoned off by society that isn t sure

opportunity. Within the next chapters, chapters 2 and 3, I began to really take into consideration Kozol

merely a totem pole of color, whites being on top and colored falling below and usually falling behind.
He compares the inner city schools portraying the characteristics that a totalitarian government was

point. The car crash scene is the turning point in Nieman s character. His pursuit of perfection and
greatness has blinded him. At this point Neiman has lost his old self completely, his dialogue is
arrogant and hostile, he no longer cares for his band members or anything apart from greatness. His
gradual change of behaviour is evident through his dialogue 1:03:28 when Nieman is on the telephone
to one of his band members, he starts cursing and using profane language, similarly to Fletcher.
Drumming has become his life, he is no longer concentrated on being a good person instead he is
focused on being remembered, as demonstrated after the car accident, Nieman is determined to

How Does Aristotle Contribute To A Starving Child
This paper will discuss the ethical question, if you had the choice of stealing food to give to a starving
child, would you? The question will be discussed from the perspective of three ethical philosophers,
Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, and Nietzsche.
Aristotle
Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher of the 4th century BCE (Anonymous, n.d.). As explained
by Sachs (n.d.), Aristotle believed moral virtue is the only practical road to effective action. Practicing
ethics, for Aristotle, is an active, conscious decision. Each decision should be meditated upon with the
object of creating a virtuous life. Aristotle did not believe in strict, pre determined rules that demand
no thought process behind them. It is true he believed virtue ethics to be a habit, but not an instinctual
one. Aristotle would say choose an action knowingly, out of a stable equilibrium of the soul, and for
its own sake (Sachs, n.d.).
Approached with the quandary of stealing to feed a starving child, Aristotle would reflect upon several

This is because the act of stealing would reflect poorly on his character; it is not a virtuous thing to do.
He said even in cases of urgent necessity, when there is a choice about whom to benefit, one should
first decide whether the scale tips toward the necessary or the beautiful thing (Sachs, n.d.). Feeding the
starving child would be a beautiful act, of course, but in the grand scheme of things it would not be a
lasting one. The child would be hungry again the next day, and if one choose to steal the first day, one
would have to choose to steal every day, thereby marring one s character. I believe Aristotle would
find a long lasting solution to the starving child s situation. He would share his own food, giving
happiness to them both, or he would procure help from another for the child, letting them both share in
the virtue of assisting the less

Tone mapping technique used to map high dynamic range images to low dynamic range image that

operators can be classified into two categories: global operators and local operators. Global operator
task depends on the same mapping function is used for all the pixels of the input HDR image so,
global operators can be described as spatially uniform methods. Global tone mapping operators are
computationally very simple and maintain the intensity orders of the original scenes thus avoiding
halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped images. Local operators which reproduce the
tonal values in a spatially variant manner because mapping function processes for each individual

The King of Kings
In the Bible, Jesus Christ, the embodiment of the Christian God is described as the King of Kings .
Christians since before the dream of Constantine have believed God and Christ constitute a ruler of
the universe. Anglo Saxon society perceived the Christian God in the mold of the pre Christian
Germanic tradition of kingship. The Anglo Saxon perception of God as a king in the Germanic
tradition has tremendous significance on late Anglo Saxon politics. The inclusion of the Christian
deity in the leadership hierarchy of Anglo Saxon society contributed to changes in how earthly kings
themselves were perceived.
Tacitus s Germania offers insight into value system of the continental pagan ancestors of the Anglo
Saxons three centuries before Horsa and Hengist. Those peoples, collectively referred to as the
Germani are a warrior society. As a culture, they valued no trait higher than bravery in battle and
perceived cowardice as a supreme disgrace . On the subject of the Germani leaders Tacitus wrote,
They choose their kings for their noble birth, their leader for their valor. But even the power of the
kings is not absolute or arbitrary. As for the leaders, it is for example rather than their authority which
wins special distinction . These war leaders leading by example inspired fierce loyalty from those
under their command. Tacitus wrote On the field of battle it is a disgrace to the leader to be surpassed

Explain What Natural Resources Were Highly Valued During...
Natural resources were highly valued during the era of imperialism. Natural market trade was a
popular source of income, and with this, natural resources were necessities. If a country did not have
enough natural resources on their own soil to make a decent share, they had to expand their territory
by taking over other lands. Being the holder of large territories of land was also highly valued during
this time. The more land a country had, the stronger and more powerful they viewed as. With
expansion and power came a need for a smart political system. In the period of 1880 to 1914,
Europeans acquistized African colonies because they were politically smart so they had justification

The Infancy of Humanitarian Intervention
The Infancy of Humanitarian Intervention
As breaking news is more easily communicated across the globe, the U.N. and other states led forces
are more inclined to intervene more then ever before but sometimes they are faced with the problem of
protecting a states sovereignty. There is a growing skepticism that is facing humanitarian intervention
when a sovereign state fails to protect it s own population. The question arises when humanitarian
intervention supersedes the sovereignty of a state. Does the state remain sovereign or does it lose
authority when an outside party intervenes? Respecting a states sovereignty is a high priority between
the United Nations and other state led forces, but when a sovereign state fails the responsibility protect
it s own citizens there is an unclear line that confuses the legitimacy of humanitarian intervention and
it s principles of military action. The United Nation s humanitarian intervention, and the principles of
its military action, has shown time after time of its failures and successes in combating or escalating
wide spread violence. In this study I will weigh the pros and cons of several conflicts where

Before the internment camps were built the japanese had to stay in stables in racetracks. If the adults
chose to work, they were only paid $5 a day. The camps were located in areas that made farming
difficult and the prisoners ate a lot of army grub style food. The U.S. Army eventually decided to allow
the prisoners to leave the camps if they joined the U.S. Army but only 1,200 took the option. If they
ran out of food then that was to bad for the people who were still waiting in line.

Ministry Practicum Experience Paper CHAPTER ONE ` This paper is the final results of my internship ministry practicum II experiences reflection in my church organization work settings and training. My experiences from different areas of exposure sharpened my skills for my professional role of the Doctor of Ministry Program in the theological field of counseling and teaching. My ministry practicum consists of direct involvements with hands on, real life interactions under the supervision of my Supervisor, Chaplain Andrea Fletcher. This Comprehensive Written Review analyzes the full spectrum of my observation and participation in tasks from my Ministry Learning Agreement Form. The opportunity allowed me to view other leaders in ministry exercising their gift and in turns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Information from chapter one comprised of a summary of my assignments reports from the various ministries served and class discussions post. Moving forward to chapter two talks more of the vast amount of lessons learned through the five goals and the effectiveness of actual hands on application: the practice of communication, pastoral spiritual care, the practice of leadership, engaging diversity, and handling conflict. There were target events in each goal setting subject. For example, in communication, my target events were in small groups, classes, writings of creative activities curriculum, and counseling. In this process, my practice skills supported an audience of women, youth both boys and girls, and children. The area of pastoral spiritual care involved Bible studies, home visits, hospital and nursing homes visits, grieving family visits, and prison ministry visits with the Children of Inmates Program. The practice of leadership comprises of attending events, training, and assisting in various ministries in need. Engaging diversity involved observing other ministry leaders engaging in a large church congregation, speaking at women s breakfast or functions, speaking at funeral services, and assisting in the planning of funeral with family members. Handling conflict dealt with counseling of premarital sessions, marriage counseling sessions, counseling child abuse sessions, counseling drug addiction session, counseling depression with childhood sexual abuse sessions and assisting with crisis individuals seeking assistance through the resources at our church Peacemakers office. Consequently, chapter three describes the most life changing events causing major setbacks in this journey of my calling and the solutions involved. Chapter four detailed some specifics on the results of my self analysis test. Some of the shared data comprised of personal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Muted violins and violas followed by the timpani play a rhythmic figure portraying the dying man s faint heartbeat and breathing. Lyrical passages for the harp [A later B], winds and muted solo violin evoke his friendly dreams soon shattered by a violent outburst (Allegro molto agitato m66). The relentless snare drum has an under carry aspect to the whole 15 min piece which is built on one simple tune; w/ one surprise and daring modulation from C major to E major until all of that tension is finally released at the end. This is the first example of simplistic composition and was a piece that Ravel himself did not consider to have any great significance. However even w/ that thought it has to this day remained one of Ravel s most popular works. Bolero is a one mvt. Work that starts solftly and ends as loudly as possible. The structure was based on the repetition of only two melodies. Approached as a self imposed orchestration challenge, it contains a persistent underlying triplet rhythm that is similar to what is found in the Spanish dance music of the same name. The goal was to use a basic rhythmic underpinning of Spanish dance music to convey character, rather than to rigidly follow any particular dance form. Its theme and rhythm are repeated to the point of obsession w/o any picturesque intention in a moderato assai ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Republic Of Rome In modern times our world has been impacted greatly by our government system. In the ancient world most were mainly affected by their form of government because it was depended on as the structure and the way of life. When Roman Republic had risen, they had torn the old ways from the people and fabricated a new way through new leadership. The Republic of Rome, mostly the Patricians and Plebeians, influenced Rome through its senate, relationships, and laws. Initially, when looking back at the Roman Republic there are a plethora of elements to observe that made it up. The main thing that the Republic had since it has risen was its senate. The senate played a vital role in the political dimension of the Republic itself as one whole. Made up of roughly around three hundred men, they had adjusted the Roman society to fit the needs it had to have to stay afloat. Senators had taken on jobs specifically preparing legislation, handling finances, managing foreign relations, and supervising the state religion (Lassieur 15). This all tied together in what led to orderly conduct and harmony. SPQR:Senatus Populusque Romanus, better known as the senate and people of Rome, have been found on Roman carvings (Chandler, Taplin, Bingham 21). Just this piece of evidence shows that they really did play an important part in the Republic. All of the senators came from being a magistrate elected by the 4 assemblies (Lassieur 15 17). The dissolution of the monopoly meant that companies besides STDM were now allowed to build and operate casinos in Macau. Theses rules and regulations were to ensure that the new casinos were operating properly and fairly (Loughlin and Pannell). Soon after the monopoly ended, the Legislative Assembly passed a law (No. 16) that clearly outlined the definition gambling and casino . The law stated what would be acceptable and what would not be acceptable in terms of gambling in Macau. It also explained the guidelines for the concession system and the procedure for bidding. • 7. Symbiotic Relationship Lab Report Parasitic or Mutual Symbiotic Relationship? Author: Natasha Patel. Lab Partner: Ariana Crolene. Mira Costa College 3333 Manchester Ave Cardiff, CA 92007. Abstract: Our experiment is designed to show the symbiotic relationship between the mycorrhizal fungus and spinach plant. We constructed a 2X2 table of live molasses and controlled groups. Our hypothesis is that the live molasses with mycorrhizae group will extend the plants root bodies and increase the total surface area of the plant. That being said, the fungus and the plant will have a symbiotic mutual relationship towards each other. Our predictions came out to be false. The controlled groups had a higher average in shoot length and wet mass, which indicates that the plant and fungus have a parasitic relationship towards each other. Introduction: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mycorrhizae benefited from the sugars but the plant did not benefit from the mycorrhizae, which caused them to not extend their root bodies. The controlled groups had higher averages than the lived averages. Also, the class averages were similar to our data as well. For future experiments, the plants with mycorrhizae should be given more molasses, which will allow us to detect if the plant and fungus have a symbiotic relationship or not. There have been many studies that provide mycorrhizae aiding plants for nutrients, proper growth, and survival. However, there are experiments that will show outliers and proving that not all studies are correct, which basically demonstrates the field of biology. Most people do believe everything they see and hear because they only remember what confirms their own bias. We as people associate with others or certain medias that support the beliefs we have, and our memories help us remember information that can be used as proof to make what we believe seem true. The only problem that stands in the way is if the information we are receiving is true or not. There is where most of us go wrong we don t fact check we just assume. The Cohort Component Method For Many State And Local... 3.5 Cohort Component Method One way to Project an area s population is the cohort component method, which is used for many state and local governments. This method offers in depth demographic statistics on why and how the population changes. There are 2 steps in this method. The first is to separate the population into groups of age and sex. The second step is to implement fertility, mortality, and migration rates to each distinct group. There are some things that have to be taken into account for this method before computing anything. The first is that all of the age groups have to be the same in that the years in the cohorts (n) are matching. The second is that the amount of years in the projection intervals (z) should identify with the number of years in the cohorts (n). The last one is that all the rates used in this model have to be altered to show five year projection periods. 3.5.1 The Mortality Component The first thing we do is calculate the female population likely to survive until the year 2005. There are two things that can happen which rely on the age specific survival rate (nsrx). The populations for females in the initial year which is 2000 (nFx 2000) can move in the start of 2005 to the following age cohort (n SFx+z 2005) or will live from 2000 to 2005 (n DFx 2000 2005). In Frankenstein, the creature encounters many judgmental people that are mean to him at first glance. The story of Frankenstein compared to real life has many of the same problems. This story relates and will relate to society throughout time because these problems are not going anywhere any time soon. The story of Frankenstein explores themes of religion, science and societal values that still present problems in today s world. For starters, religion has always had a huge input on the way man was created and how they should be created to this day. In the story Frankenstein the creature is created by Victor in his house. Religion sees that being unnaturally made is a bad thing and many would agree with that statement. Also, in Greek mythology there is a hero by the name of Prometheus who is seen by some as good and some as bad but the creature and Prometheus have much in common. Prometheus can be seen as representative of the biblical Lucifer who was cast out of heaven . Indeed, for centuries ancient cultures had recognized and employed fasting as an effective and inexpensive method of cleansing the internal organs and rejuvenating the body. [9] Crohn s Disease : Scientific evidence indicates that it is not primarily an autoimmune disease but rather a bacterial infection caused by Johne s Disease in cows, the bacteria being MAP (Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis). The symptoms of these cows are identical to those of persons with Crohn s Disease. It has been established that MAP passes into cow milk and is not destroyed by pasteurization. Wisdom, passion and dedication are the necessity traits to have when writing a good book in order to provide the reader with an experience to want more; to want to know more, read more and look into detail beyond the words written on the page. Jonathan Kozol provided just that and then some. Kozol took real life occurrences from some previous years and wrapped them into a well detailed layout of the struggles and occurrences that poor minority children once faced when trying to obtain an education giving the nation a real wake up call. Although segregation was thought to have come and went, it was still occurring, dismantling the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling that had taken place within the previous years. Sadly, they could have excelled but they often weren t provided with the opportunity. Within the next chapters, chapters 2 and 3, I began to really take into consideration Kozol s way of writing and point of views. The voices were coming to life and it was nearly as if I was there in that classroom watching this degrading event occur. Chapter 2 began the illustration of how corrupt the education system really was in that particular day and age (some odd 40 50 years ago and continues today). Although all children should serve as equals, they were not and do not. It was merely a totem pole of color, whites being on top and colored falling below and usually falling behind. He compares the inner city schools portraying the characteristics that a totalitarian government was then present and the funding for education was very scarce and limited regardless of the how well the economy was doing. The iteration of how poorly the children were focused on was also present and the point was once noted within the reading that the expressiveness of children was often muted (p. 71). His gradual change of behaviour is evident through his dialogue 1:03:28 when Nieman is on the telephone to one of his band members, he starts cursing and using profane language, similarly to Fletcher. • 27. How Does Aristotle Contribute To A Starving Child This paper will discuss the ethical question, if you had the choice of stealing food to give to a starving child, would you? The question will be discussed from the perspective of three ethical philosophers, Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, and Nietzsche. Aristotle Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher of the 4th century BCE (Anonymous, n.d.). As explained by Sachs (n.d.), Aristotle believed moral virtue is the only practical road to effective action. Practicing ethics, for Aristotle, is an active, conscious decision. Each decision should be meditated upon with the object of creating a virtuous life. Aristotle did not believe in strict, pre determined rules that demand no thought process behind them. It is true he believed virtue ethics to be a habit, but not an instinctual one. Aristotle would say choose an action knowingly, out of a stable equilibrium of the soul, and for its own sake (Sachs, n.d.). He said even in cases of urgent necessity, when there is a choice about whom to benefit, one should first decide whether the scale tips toward the necessary or the beautiful thing (Sachs, n.d.). Feeding the starving child would be a beautiful act, of course, but in the grand scheme of things it would not be a lasting one. The child would be hungry again the next day, and if one choose to steal the first day, one would have to choose to steal every day, thereby marring one s character. I believe Aristotle would find a long lasting solution to the starving child s situation. He would share his own food, giving happiness to them both, or he would procure help from another for the child, letting them both share in the virtue of assisting the less ... Global tone mapping operators are computationally very simple and maintain the intensity orders of the original scenes thus avoiding halo artifacts, but cause loss of details in the mapped images. Local operators which reproduce the tonal values in a spatially variant manner because mapping function processes for each individual pixel. Local operators characterized that more satisfying than global operators in terms of the detail preservation and compression ratio of the dynamic range.
