Being A Child Of The 90 s Full House Essay
Being a child of the 90 s, Full House was a very popular show for my generation. Least to say when I
saw a spin off, Fuller House was being released this past year to Netflix I was extremely excited.
Coincidently, the spin off released during the time of this course. Believe it or not, I immediately
referenced parenting styles to the episode where DJ Tanner punishes her son a little differently than
Kimmy Gibler punishes her daughter, although the committed the same crime. I am hoping to dissect
this exact scene, and discuss DJ parenting style towards her son. I find the parenting styles really
interesting, specifically the four we discussed in module four and I really want to focus on that here.
Earlier in the course, we discussed Darling four parenting styles and for some reason, these really
stuck with me. The parenting style theory reflects four different types of parents. Indulgent parents
tend to more responsive than they are demanding (Darling) I like to think of indulgent parents as what
todays generation thinks of as cool parents . They tend to be more lenient and let the child do as they
please because they want to avoid confrontation. Darling also discusses Authoritarian and
Authoritative parents which are slightly different. Authoritarian style parents, are a little over barring.
To me, I would consider this style to be a bulldozer parent. Authoritarian style parents are very
demanding and very directive. They expect the child to do what they re told,

Laser Surgery Research Paper
A Few Things To Know About Having Laser Surgery On Your Cataracts
If you have cataracts, you may be able to put up with cloudy vision for a few years, but eventually,
you ll probably need surgery to remove the cataracts and improve your vision. That s because
cataracts continue to grow and your vision gets progressively worse over the years. At some point,
your vision may become so impaired you have difficulty driving at night, or you may increase your
risk of falling. Cataract surgery is very common and it is a relatively safe procedure. It is even being
done with lasers now, which lowers the risks further. Here are a few things to know about having your
cataracts removed with a laser.
No Incisions By Hand

Laser surgery is no different. Of course, if you want to have laser surgery, you need to make sure the
doctor you choose has necessary laser device, computer, and software system in the office, because
many doctors still do the procedure by hand. If you have cataracts in both eyes, you ll probably only
have one eye done at a time since your vision may be blurry for a few days. Your eyes will be dilated
and numbed with medication before the doctor begins, and you ll probably go home with an eye patch.
During the surgery, your doctor may be able to insert a new lens that corrects any vision problems you
have such as being farsighted or nearsighted. Then, once you ve healed from your surgery, the
cloudiness will be gone and your vision might be improved enough to allow you to go without glasses.
Deciding on the right time to have the laser surgery depends on different variables. If your cataracts
grow slowly, you may be able to put off the surgery for a long time. However, it isn t worth
postponing the procedure if your vision is impaired to the point where it affects your quality of

Richard Angelo Research Paper
Known as the Angel of Death , Richard Angelo was born August 29, 1962 in Long Island, New York.
His mother was an economics teacher and his father was a high school guidance teacher. Growing up,
Angelo was an honor roll student. He graduated from St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School in
1980 and he signed up for a 2 year nursing program at Farmingdale State College. As Angelo grew up
he developed hero syndrome. This meant he had an overwhelming desire to get recognition or seen as
a heroic figure. To quench this desire he became an Eagle Scout and after high school a volunteer
fireman. At the age of twenty
six Angelo got his job at the Good Samaritan Hospital as an emergency
medical technician. As time passed he grew frustrated with the ... Show more content on

Next, he would show how heroic he was by saving their lives. Lastly, his coworkers and patients
would be impressed with his abilities. Angelo s first put his plan to action on a man named John
Fisher. Fisher died before Angelo could save him. The incident did not faze Angelo, and he kept trying
again, and again. In fact, during Angelos time at the hospital there were thirty
seven code

emergencies during his shift. From April 1987 to October 1987 Angelo killed twenty
five men and
women and non
fatally poisoned over twenty
five more. His last victim was a man named Gerolama
Kucich. Angelo injected him while he was still awake and he immediately called for nurses. The
nurses came in just as Angelo fled the scene. Kucich was saved and he gave the police a physical
description which they traced back to Richard Angelo. Police searched his apartment and hospital
locker. While searching they found stashes of drugs Angelo used to poison his victims. He was
arrested and charged with multiple counts of second
degree murder. During Angelo s trial two
psychologists testified that Angelo has dissociative disorder. They believed he had multiple
personalities and was therefore not aware of the crimes

Automotive Facts And History Of Automotive Industry
Automotive facts and history
In 1895 there were only four cars officially registered in the U.S. Little more than 20 years later in
1916, 3,376,889 were registered! Because of the automotive industry s major technological advances
the automotive industry has been able to pull ahead of other industries over the years. This industry
has also proven that in order to be successful in the business world, one has to take some risks. This
ideology has allowed the industry to get advance in ways could not.
The automotive industry has continued to evolve alongside changes in lifestyle, and the demand for
ease of transportation has allowed the industry to far surpass its competitors. The beginning
This whole industry really kicked off with Henry Ford, an entrepreneur that took the necessary risks to
make a car that was not only affordable but that was mechanically sound as well (A E Television
Networks, 2016). Born on July 30, 1863, near Dearborn, Michigan into a middle class agrarian family
Henry found the farm work to be tedious he decides to invent new ingenuitive machines to make the
work easier (A E Television Networks, 2016). When Ford was 13 years old, his father gifted him a
pocket watch, which the young boy promptly took apart and reassembled. Friends and neighbors were
impressed, and requested that he fix their timepieces to (A E Television Networks, 2015).

India Is A South Asian Country Where People Hold Various...
India is a South Asian country where people hold various castes and religions. After India gained
independence, the Constitution of India listed backward castes of the people as Scheduled Castes (SC)
and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The Constitution laid down 15% and 7.5% of vacancies to government
aided educational institutes and for jobs in the government/public sector, as reserved quota for the
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates respectively for a period of five years, after which
the situation was to be reviewed. Reservation, in Indian law is a form of affirmative action whereby a
percentage of seats are reserved in the public sector units, union and state civil services, union and
state government departments and in all public and private educational institutions, except in the
religious or linguistic minority educational institutions, for the socially and educationally backward
communities and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. The common refrain tends to be that less qualified
people from backward castes in the field of education and employment get preferential treatment
because of caste based reservations. My argument is that allocating reservation quotas on the basis of
castes is a form of discrimination which is contrary to the right to equality. Reservations on the basis
of caste should be reformed as these reservations create discrimination, and the people of the upper
castes who truly deserve the opportunity lose it because the reservation is already

Carl Rogers Chemical Dependency Counseling Model
Introduction
The role of a chemical dependency counselor can be a very challenging, yet extremely rewarding one.
There are many skills and qualities that the successful counselor possesses. Carl Rogers was the first
to spearhead the movement of person centered therapy and he has provided a very influential theory
on how a person in treatment should be treated. He deemed these to be the most important elements in
the therapeutic movement: unconditional positive regard helps makes change happen because they
feel safe and cared about, accurate empathy it is an understanding of what they are going through,
congruence be who you are, and lastly the desire to help (Watkins, 2016). These elements are the basic
ingredient needed to embark on the journey of recovery with a client. This counseling model is
intended to provide in depth detail of the counseling process and covers critical concepts that must be
understood to effectively help the chemically dependent. The definition of addiction, the subsequent
theories, prevalent disorders, and treatment processes are presented as a guide for counseling the
chemically dependent.
DSM V criteria for Substance Use Disorder
In order to provide the best counseling possible to aid in the recovery of addiction it is necessary to
fully understand the definition of substance abuse and dependence (aka addiction). Alan Leshner
(1997) defines addiction as an, uncontrollable compulsive drug craving, seeking, and use that
interferes with, if not

Socratic Reflective Report
From time segment 4:00 to 5:10 (video 1), I use Socratic questioning to promote deeper level thinking
and understanding about standing waves in one medium. During this time segment, I asked a student
to tell me what his data suggested. The student responded that his data suggested that the wave speeds
should be equal. His response was accurate; however, I had him expand the answer by asking him to
tell me why his wave speeds were supposed to be the same. The student thought about it and realized
that the medium a long spring was always the same; this made his answer better, and he then
understood that waves in the same medium propagate with the same speed regardless of frequency and
wavelength changes. I took advantage of the situation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If I hand out different questions to each group so they can address them during the presentations, a
variety of perspectives will ease student understanding of the standing waves concept; students would
be required to take notes and to include them in their lab reports. This is a great idea because
collaboration significantly improves critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. The
academic performance benefits of collaborative and cooperative learning have been known for
decades because Robert E. Slavin suggested, back in 1980, that students engaged in cooperative or
collaborative learning perform better academically than students learning through traditional lecture
methods of instruction; his results are still supported today. In addition, Bruce Joyce corroborates that
learning through group investigations emphasizes social development, academic skills, and personal
understanding (2015). Based on these, it is safe to assume that engaging students in collaborative
presentations will enhance their learning and will help them progress towards meeting the learning
targets. This will also focus the lesson more on the students and less on

Merce Cunningham
Before Cunningham was invited to join the Martha Graham Company in 1939, he had already
established himself as a gifted dancer and choreographer at Cornish School of Fine Arts in Seattle
America. The school witnessed the first three works created by Cunningham Unbalanced March
(1938), Jazz Epigram (1938) and Skinny Structures (1939). Unbalanced March signified the dawning
of Cunningham and Cage due to Cage being the class accompanist (Dance Detail Merce Cunningham

company before opening his own company working collaboratively with his life partner and musician,
John Cage. Cunningham s used the method of chance during his choreographic process displayed ...

His divergence from typical dance technique has allowed for him to become a worldwide success
within the contemporary dance industry, however he does not label himself as a chorographer, but
instead as a realiser. He uses the term realizer rather than choreographer to describe himself. While
choreographer, he says, concerns on setting steps and movements into sequences, what he himself
does more concerned with ideas and concepts. (Bremser, M. and Sanders, L. 2011, 42) 1994 saw Bel s
first choreography take to the stage in a work entitled: Nom donné par l ateur, translating as Name

with the language of movement he is able to preview minimalism on stage without compromising the
integrity of his intentions. The way in which he portrays his work to have a simultaneous link between
the choreography, performance quality and audience really evokes thought and question on a different
plane to which and audience has been subjected to before. One of the

Christopher s mother sent Christopher. He also lied to Christopher about his mother, telling
Christopher that she died of a heart attack. Even though the things Ed did look evil and bad hearted, he
did it out of love. Just like he killed Wellington, Mrs. Shears dog, because he loved her and she
rejected him, and Ed got out of control. Ed lied and hid the letters from Christopher because
Christopher, being a person with special needs, did not feel sad and take the divorce and separation of
his parents too deeply and harshly. Ed also did this so Christopher would not leave him, because Ed

that such classification allows the comprehensive inclusion of a range of available characters,

approach has a number of characteristics which may prove particularly beneficial to pharmaceutical

approach.16 1 2 A priori each variable is of equal weight in creating natural groups. Overall similarity
between any two firms is a function of their individual similarities in each of the characters by which
they are being compared. Distinct groups may be recognised because the correlation of characters will

The Rise Of Consumerism During World War II
In today s times, Americans are never too far from a drive through fast food restaurant or a shopping
mall. Products such as televisions, microwaves, and cars are necessities in homes in 2014. America
was not always the consumerist nation it is now. With thousands of American servicemen returning
home after World War II, the United States was filled with an energy that had long been repressed by
an economic depression in the 1930 s. By the 1950 s, Americans were ready to move on from the war
and start families. Thousands of jobs were created to accommodate all those retuning home, which
caused the United States economy to flourish. Since more people were working and receiving higher
wages, they were eager to start spending. Because of this, consumerism skyrocketed in the 1950 s.
Along with positive post war attitudes, suburbanization and the development of new products can also
be attributed to the rise of consumerism during this period.
As many American men fought in World War II, the United States economy had slowly started to pick
itself up after a devastating crash in 1929 that lasted over a decade. Most men were drafted into the
war, which left many jobs open back in the States. To fill these jobs women and African Americans
were recruited to fill them, thus making unemployment nearly nonexistent during this period. After
World War II had ended, Americans came home with a determination to keep the recovery going. A
key way to achieve this was to spend money.

The Redistricting And Reappointment Process
To know rather state legislatures should continue to have responsibility of the redistricting and
reappointment process, we must first know how and what it means to redistrict and reappoint. Well,
Redistricting and Gerrymandering they are basically the same. Gerrymandering is simply attempting
to find a political advantage in redistricting. Also it is very often the case that redistricting is sought
for political advantage. This takes place by constitution at least every decade in most typical
democractic systems using similar electoral systems to prevent the unsuitable distributing of
representatives to a legislative body. But there is an alteration among redistricting and
reapportionment. Redistricting refers to the actual or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Redistricting can be used to favor certain parties; for example, districts can be drawn to include areas
with larger numbers of Democrats or Republicans, as long as the population numbers remain
consistent. Even when the population is divided equally, drawing the lines one way can reward
Democrats and punish Republicans. But, some line drawing can protect incumbents, they will face a
potent challenger, either from their own party or the opposite party. Consequently, redistricting has a
direct bearing on what matters a legislature chooses to tackle, and which to ignore (Brennen). The
People should understand how their district is drawn and whether they will have a fair chance to elect
a candidate of their choice. A good redistricting process would benefit the public and help secure a
significant representation. Rather than gathering the lawful obligation that all votes must count
equally. Many states consider drawing their districts because of cultural, geographic, social, economic,
and racial concerns. This is far deeper than a Democrat or Republican. A decent redistricting method
allows societies to give input and ask questions. This involvement is vital, because it makes the
communities classy districts. Nearly every other democracy in the world utilize their districts to elect
their legislatures. While not

Essay On Assimilation In Canada
Within the international community Canada is regarded as an ethnically diverse country. Conversely
having many cultures under one roof does not represent multiculturalism. Over the 150 years Canada
has existed, there have been many instances of persecution against immigrant and First Nation
populations. Thomas King s Totem and Wayson Choy The Jade Peony unveil how their cultures fight
to hold onto their heritage. This heritage which they regard very highly is stripped away by the
government to force an inclusion into Canadian Society. Canada s ethnic groups are forced to separate
into isolated islands or else they are coerced into assimilation.
Ever since white settlers landed on Canadian shores in the 1600 s, there have been conflicts with the
First Nations. From driving them off their land to exterminating them with European diseases, the
First Nation population has been struggling to keep their lineage and history from being erased. With
the struggle to keep themselves from being cut [off] close to the floor (Page 2) the First Nation society
has been confined to a small patch of land called a reservation , a small downsize from all of Canada.
The forced isolation that their population has endured has meant that the chances of the First Nations

Sackville Film Industry
The economic geography of each cultural industry is different for a variety of reasons. In my essay, I
chose to write about the motion picture industry. The majority of Canadians would agree that the film
industry is a big part of their daily lives. I will go into detail to illustrate the geographical patterns of
the film industry, the organizational process, important international cities and how the film industry
has an influence on Sackville. The film industry is a large industry derived from Hollywood. The

20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, Walt Disney Co., Warner Brothers, and newcomer Dreamworks

There are many international cities that play a role in filming, directing, producing and distributing
films. A film industry does not just pick places based on looks and reputation, but, they take into
consideration the nightlife of the place. It is necessary to have nightlife, and formal industry events
(gallery openings, fashion shows) in the creative economy (Currid E, 2007). Woody Allen, and
American actor, writer and director, is a wonderful example of the international film industry. He has
filmed several movies in London, Barcelona, Paris and Rome. He also hopes to film in Germany and
Denmark all which are big metropolitans with nightlife. Allen s actions were influenced by the public
policies promoted to keep and attract film production to certain areas. Some places have matured
policies in place to ensure the production of films in major European cities to boost their economy; for
example, Paris (Mission Cinema), London (Film London), Berlin (Berlin Brandenburg Film
Commission and the Medienboard) and Vienna (Vienna Film Fund). These policies are put in place to
attract the film industry and its revenues to Europe and away from Hollywood (Scoffier A, 2013). As
well as international cities, there is North American cities that have an effect on Hollywood as well.
Cities such as Austin Texas, Seattle Washington, Montreal Quebec, New York New York, Albuquerque
New Mexico and so on all have an effect on Hollywood (Rupprecht K, 2013). Montreal Quebec is
known for being an important place in North America for film and audiovisual productions. Over
recent years the hub has developed in the visual effects sector attracting some competition to
Montreal. (Tremblay, D. and Cecilli, E. 2009). Albuquerque New Mexico is home to The Avengers,
The Lone Ranger and the television series Breaking Bad along with many others. Albuquerque is

The Gift Of A Gift
This story is about a man giving a gift that is intended to show gratitude to a stranger s good deed that
moved him years ago. An old woman with her two grandchildren went to the supermarket for some
groceries. The little boy and girl accompanied their grandmother, helping her out with some groceries.
While the little girl was picking a few things at the market, her grandmother told her that the items she
had chosen were not necessarily, although, the grandmother told her granddaughter to choose
something special for her grandfather since it was his birthday, while he was home waiting for them to
come back with the groceries. The little girl picked up a cake from the pastry section and ran to the
counter where her grandmother and brother were waiting, ready to check out. When the cashier added
the cake to the other items it made the grocery purchase higher than the money they had in hand, so
the grandmother pleaded with the cashier to void the cake out of her transaction. The granddaughter
pleaded with the grandmother that she wanted the cake and that she would not have asked for anything
else. The grandmother had no choice by not buying the cake. As soon as they left the market a
gentleman at the market decided to purchase the cake that the young girl left at the market. The

in time criminal justice is needed more than ever in America and the world as we know it today. The
criminal justice system has improved more and more throughout history by changing something as
simple as law enforcement officer s purpose and who they are taking orders from. The objective of
this analysis is to break down these three criminal justice subjects: the juvenile justice system, prison
life and the different policing eras. Juveniles has an extensive background of violent crimes
throughout history. Ever since the 1990s crime rates for youth has decreased in some way compared to
the late 18th century and early 19th century. These descending crime rates have driven numerous of
jurisdictions to reconsider how they go about juvenile justices practices, which were so popular so
many years ago. States launched dominant systematic reforms arranged to diminish institutional
incarceration. Punishment for youth by the courts consisted off jails and penitentiaries. From an
historical aspect the idea; of having a different legal structure for youth offenders is rather new. In the
past, children as young as 7 years old who were detained for crimes were incarcerated right along with
adults. In the United States in the earl nineteenth century, the concept of amending juveniles was
fundamental in this country. The first juvenile facility called The House of Refuge in New

Georgrapy Patterns
1. In 1 million years I predict that Africa and South America will be farther away from each other.
The earth is constantly changing and moving. That is why I believe in 1 million years that South
America and Africa will be far, far apart. I know this because of plate movement. In the
Geochronology map it shows that when plates spread a part which is a divergent boundary, then as
magma heats and cools, new sea floor is created and the old sea is pushed out with the continents. This
shows that the plates will keep spreading and causing the new ocean floor to be their and the more the
plates spread the more the continents spread then eventually they hit each other forming like another

Analysis Of Ihara Saikaku s Life Of A Sensuous Woman, And...
In Ihara Saikaku s story, Life of a Sensuous Woman, and Mary Wollstonecraft s work, Vindication of
the Rights of Woman , the issue of double standards in gender are examined. Both pieces offer a
perspective into the lives of women during their respective times and show how some standards that
are considered favorable for men, are looked down upon for women. In particular, the two works
examine how women were treated differently based on their education, their social status and even
their sexual history. Saikaku looks at these issues in a different lens from Wollstonecraft, based on his
experiences as a man living in Japan in the 17th century. Their experiences shape their works and
show how the issue of double standards of gender span culture, time and geography.
In Wollstonecraft s work, she addresses the differences between men and women as being something
that should be considered negligible, but instead is used to practically enslave one half of the
population. The work details how women are akin to playthings when they lack an education, and that
for her to truly be herself and practice her own free will, she must be knowledgeable. However, there
are many different kinds of education, Wollstonecraft points out. Men received a formal education,
consisting of a proper teaching of many subjects, while also aiding the young men in personal growth.
Women, on the other hand, received a much less formal education. In their day to day lives, women
observed, they leeched off

Cmdmc Goal 4
Goal #3: The ability to analyze and produce a strong understanding of imagery. As CMDC students,
we are learn not only to be intelligent in our work, but artistic as well to create well thought out design
and style. Regardless if your skills align in web development, graphic design, or 3D creation, having a
strong sense of visual form is key to producing a quality product. By the time a student graduates from
the program, they will without a doubt have an understanding of how to arrange their work in a proper
visual layout. DTC 336, composition and design, pushes students to acknowledge what works and
what doesn t work when it comes to visual design. This was something I had a good understanding of
when entering the program, as I had already taken numerous drawing, painting, and digital
photography classes. The ability to transfer art skills from pencil and paper to a digital canvas such as

Funeral Of The Roman Empire
Funerals in Ancient Rome were as they are in most modern cultures, important. Those of nobles and
aristocrats were particularly lavish and attended by many. Generally, Roman funerals consisted of the
procession, cremation or burial and eulogy. Julius Caesar, dictator during the first century of the
Rome, whose actions lead to the fall of the Roman Republic and in turn, the rise of the Roman
Empire. Plutarch, a Greek historian, wrote about Caesar and noted that one of his first inclination that
the people of Rome saw him as a fit leader, was during a funeral. as nephew of Julia the deceased wife
of Marius, he pronounced a splendid encomium upon her in the forum, and in her funeral procession
ventured to display images of Marius, which were then seen for the first time since the administration
of Sulla, because Marius and his friends had been pronounced public enemies. When, namely, some
cried out against Caesar for this procedure, the people answered them with loud shouts, received
Caesar with applause, and admired him for bringing back after so long a time, as it were from Hades,
the honours of Marius into the city.
Caesar performed a eulogy for his deceased aunt during a time when women didn t receive eulogies,
only men. Funerals in ancient Rome were ostentatious and over the top, they are also where Caesar
gained followers.
Proper burial was essential to Romans to ensure malicious spirits did not rise from the underworld.

Mental Disorders And Physical Disorders
The world has come a long way in understanding mental disorders, but even in today s society they
are still not treated the same way as physical disorders. It is true we are no longer killing people for
having a mental disorder because of the belief it is a demon possessing them, but we still have a long
way to go in correcting how we still treat those with these disorders. The two have their differences,
but mental and physical disorders are equal in how they are both illnesses deserving the same respect
and treatment. Mental disorders are diseases of the brain that cause impairment in one s behaviors,
thoughts, or moods. On the other hand, physical disorders are diseases that cause pain to the physical
body itself. By definitions, both mental disorders and physical disorders are both diseases. These two
types of disorders are similar in the way that they both have symptoms, they can be treated with
modern medicine, and they both alter the lives of those who live with them. They are both considered
medically to make people sick, so why do people still react to mental disorders as if they are lesser
than physical disorders? To this day mental disorders are still questioned and looked down upon in
ways that physical disorders could never even compare, and that needs to change. Examples of this
difference in treatment is shown immediately throughout the early stages of a diagnosis. When
someone is diagnosed with a physical disorder, most people never feel the need to hide

Rhetorical Analysis Of Anna Quindlen
In her essay responding to handling of mental issues in America Anna Quindlen employers parents,
educators, and politicians to recognize mental issues in teens as a legitimate medical condition rather
than a character flaw. Qunidlen s use of rhetorical strategies such as tone, bias, understatement, and
concerned diction allows her to demonstrate to her audience that teens such as Kip Kinkle and Sam
Manzie are teens who need support from the array of people surrounding them. Quindlen utilizes a
worried and aggravated tone by showing fury towards those adults who believe that teenagers have
nothing to be depressed about. She mentions that these beliefs are getting in the way of those troubled
teens who actually do need help. She uses also uses diction to create a concern tone by stating that Kip

Theme Of Justice In Joe s Family
In THE STORY, Joe s family faces a number of obstacles trying to ensure justice is carried out for the
assault on Joe s mother. Legal disputes over the land, issues with jurisdiction and Geraldine s
reluctance to speak initially all hinder their efforts to seek legal punishment for Linden Lark and his
actions. Joe himself has another obstacle in particular that prevents him personally from pursuing
justice; his age. In the latter half of the novel, the conflict between legal justice and the justice of
traditional Ojibwe culture is contrasted. Joe s age, along with the jurisdiction issues and other
obstacles, is one more factor that prevents him and his family from obtaining legal justice; thus Joe is
forced to rely on more traditional methods of his tribe for exacting it on behalf of his mother.

Criminal Justice Criminology Essay
Criminal Justice Theorists attempted to find out a plausible scientific explanation to crime and
criminal behavior of individuals. At the same time, criminology emerged under the impact of other
sciences, such as psychology or sociology, for example. As a result, often criminology theories are
often intertwined with psychological or sociological concepts and theories as well as concepts and
theories from other sciences. The study of key works of criminology theorists can help to understand
better criminology, crime, criminal behavior and causes of crime. In this regard, it is possible the
distinct and persisting debate concerning causes of crimes and explanation of criminal behavior, which
is based on nature nurture debate, where internal factors, especially heredity, confront environmental,

Passion in A Midsummer Night s Dream Essay

characteristic, is often expressed through the play. Characters in the play show passion for different

the many examples. Passion shows much significance, being the most important characteristic in the

Being the only character, other than Bottom, to enter both the human and fairy world, the play makes
Puck to be the protagonist. While there his trickery and trouble are antagonistic in nature, his vital part
is that of a positive character, ultimately resolving all problems. Puck treats the entire idea of love as
madness, the idea Shakespeare was conveying with his trickery. Helena is portrayed as a desperate
character, her passion being for the love of Demetrius. Helena spends most of the story pursuing
Demetrius in hope of receiving any form of affection in return, only receiving affection due to magic.
While chasing Demetrius, Helena says What worser place can I beg your love, And yet a place of high
respect with me, Than to be usèd as you use your dog? (II.i.208 210) Helena, knowing demeaning
herself to the position of a dog, believes that she is not worthy enough for such authority, therefore
hoping she will be given the honour. Helena compares herself to a dog in the sense that the more
Demetrius rejects her, the harder she will try to receive any emotion from her master. Although
heartbroken by Demetrius hatred for her, Helena showers Demetrius with comments, only to be
continuously beaten down. This is explicitly shown when Helena comments on Demetrius demeanor
and is, again rejected, saying, You draw me, you hard hearted adamant; But yet you draw not iron, for

I Am A Master At Chess Essay
The black King slayed down the blue knight, which left the blue King the sole member of his army. As
the blue King retreated to the edge of the field, the black king trailed from behind. The black king
halted six feet from his foe. Neither advanced toward the other, for whoever stepped in the space
between them would be slayed down by the other. The Kings paced left and right down the side of the
board. This could have gone on for hours, but Dad and I knew that neither one of us would move our
king forward, so the chess game ended in a draw. Technically neither one of us won, but I always
counted draws as a win. My dad, who taught me how to play, was great at chess, so it was near
impossible for me to beat him. To be a master at chess you have to have a great teacher who is patient
and skilled , be able to strategize, and, most importantly, enjoy playing the game. Oddly, I became
interested in chess because of my interest in Checkers. Checkers was a special game between my dad
and me. I played Checkers only with my dad, and that became our game. We would play wherever
checkers was set up: at Cracker Barrel or on the open display at the store. Oddly, we didn t have

Analysis Of Peter Singer s Argument On Famine, Affluence,...
I m a strong believer in that anyone can make their own choices in life. There is no such thing as
moral obligation in my books, however there does exist courtesy or kind heartedness. Peter Singer s
argument regarding famine, affluence, and morality is, in my opinion, strongly influenced by
sympathetic and empathetic feelings based on observations in a still developing country. In a sense,
his reasoning is subjective and biased because he seems to focus only on the problem, and not the
circumstances that could have prevented such problems from the beginning. I will elaborate on some
of the loopholes in his arguments, and further clarify why the more fortunate people (in terms of
wealth) should NOT be morally obligated to help the poor, rather they should have the choice of being
courteous or kind, and they should have the freedom to spend the money they worked so hard for
according to their own agenda. To start, I would like to establish that suffering and death from lack of
food and other necessities is indeed a bad thing. There is no counter argument to that statement.
However, the problem lies in the second and third premises, which states that (2) if it is in our power
to prevent something bad from happening, then we have a moral duty to do it; (3) therefore, we have a
moral duty to help the poor. According to Singer, the second premise is comprised of a strong and
weak argument. The strong argument states that the wealthy people should help the poor people at a

Using Population Control to Achieve Environmental...
Environmental sustainability is when a person, community or area is able to meet the needs of the
present, without compromising the needs of the future. Overconsumption will lead to hardship in the
future, and possibly to the destruction of the planet s finite resources; and if we continue using our
resources as at current rates, which have been estimated to be 4 planets worth of resources, this will be
inevitable. Populations are all the inhabitants of a specific area/country and this population can be
controlled in various methods such as population policies, like the ones in China, Kerala and France;
as well as control via migration by putting on limits.

On the other hand, Canada has a fairly low population density of just 3.75 people per square kilometer
and with high resources, Canada is environmentally sustainable; some even say that Canada is under
populated and therefore Canada is lenient on in migration.
Similarly to this, Thomas Malthus (1766 1834) had the theory that when population overshoots a
certain point (usually food production) there will be catastrophic effects. The club of Rome, in 1968
published a report called the limit of growth , which stated that population growth will lead to an
increase in food demand and this will eventually lead to resource exhaustion, which is obviously not
environmentally sustainable. To prevent resource exhaustion, the Club of Rome decided that we have
to regulate population growth and reduce fertility and that is what China s One Child Policy, and
Kerala s non enforced population policy was aiming to do. Similarly, the anti Malthusianist Ester
Boserup was a resource optimist, with research based on studies of shifting cultivation. Her hypothesis
was that population growth would result in an increase demand for food and to meet this demand,
improved agriculture productivity would be needed. A higher agricultural productivity means an
increase in methods of agriculture like the slash and burn technique, which often are not
environmentally sustainable at all.

(SCL). The purpose of this study is to determine if music affects, specifically lowers, the amount of
physiological arousal (anxiety) experienced by a participant while listening to classical music. SCL

Those with GAD also experience fatigue, muscle tension, difficulty sleeping, irritability, restlessness
and edginess (ADAA, 2015). Worry and anxiety are a natural part of everyday life, but for those with
GAD, the worry becomes so severe that it impairs their normal functioning. The lifetime prevalence of
GAD is 28%, with a mean age of onset at 11 years (Duval et al., 2015). This section will focus on the
neurological information of GAD, current research and the effect music has on GAD. Neuroscience.
When an anxiety response occurs, objectively unthreatening stimuli becomes threatening (Davidson,
2013). To help cope with stress, the brain releases the hormone cortisol (Bear, Connors Paradiso,
2007). During the fear and anxiety response, the central nucleus of the amygdala is active; once active,
an excitatory response in the hypothalamus occurs (Davidson, 2013). This excitation causes
corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH) to be released; CRH then triggers the anterior pituitary gland
to secrete ACTH (Davidson, 2013). The ACTH levels in the blood stream cause cortisol to be released
from the adrenal cortex and once the levels of cortisol become high, the hippocampus activates,
suppressing the release of CRH (Davidson, 2013). The bloodstream carries cortisol to the brain, where
it bind to receptors in the cytoplasm of man

The Inequality Of A Capitalist Society Essay
There are many inequalities prevalent in the US, and as a capitalist society, one of the most common is
economic inequality. The Equality Trust defines economic inequality, as the gap between the well off
and less well of in regards to overall economic distribution ( How Is ). See, our capitalist society
strongly benefits those with a capitalist mentality and can afford the means to invest/own capital. Over
the years there has been an increasing wealth gap between the top one percent earners and the general
population. So why are the rich flourishing while the poor are struggling in this capitalist
environment? The policy decisions of our country allow this inequality to permeate throughout our
industries, thus creating a culture of power and greed. One result of this culture is the explosion of
high salaries in the US and Emmanuel Saez explains this trend in Striking it Richer. Saez affirms,
Indeed, estimates based purely on wages and salaries show that the share of total wage and salaries
earned by the top 1 percent wage income earners has jumped from 5.1 percent in 1970 to 12.0 percent
in 2006 (Grusky 89). Too bad that the 99 percent of America missed out on this massive economic
growth spurt. When economic growth is not evenly distributed among the general population, people
tend to question our entire system. This has been an increasingly controversial issue, where corporate
America is responsible for the constant exploitation of low level employees. Through my

Military Training Research Paper
One day while driving to boy scouts with my grandson he asked me Papa, have you ever been hurt or
shot at while you were in the military? Yes answering, I did what was necessary to protect fellow
Americans of the United States. I looked at him as if I could see the small cloud of questions floating
above his head ready to transmit the next question. Interjecting, I said, If you plan on joining you will
find that making difficult decisions can be easy and some may not, and there is a high chance or get
injured or killed. Or to go back: During training, which only a small percentage of military can
complete, we would wear roughly one hundred and fifty pounds of gear all day, being compounded by
fireman carrying close to three hundred pounds of a team member was going to hurt later, but where?
My left lower back was tightening, burning with the rushing pain, knowing that it was going to be stiff
as wood later. Mesmerized in memories of training admonished by Instructors saying you re doing
wrong, lift with your legs! Determined to overcome failure, I wasn t going to let my teammates down,
and motivated by the scoffing statements that this was a young man s game, ... Show more content on

A year later preparing to transition into civilian life I had gotten x rays and an MRI for diagnosis of
my physical condition for my disability claim. Come to find out that I had nerve damage and a
compressed disc in my lower left back. Sneaking up on me one day in 2014, confined in pain, bringing
my normal walk to and almost crawl for nearly three weeks and once again in 2015. Scheduling a
chiropractor, these sessions helped for a while to try and realign my lower back relieving some of the
pain to walk normal once more. Since I retired a little over a year ago, I made a commitment to myself
to maintain a good physical condition through exercising, stretching, and dieting to extend my

Shakespeare Sonnet Analysis
Chapter 3 Nice to Eat You: Acts of Vampires
Vampirism isn t exclusively about vampires; it s about selfishness and exploitation as well. (16)
While writers typically use ghosts, vampires, and werewolves as a cheap thrill, they could symbolize
many aspects of reality. (17)
It can show how someone grows in strength by weakening someone else. (22)
Use other people to get what one desires. (22)
Place one s desires above someone else s needs. (22)
The story of a vampire usually follows a cycle: a corrupt, old fashioned figure strips a young, virginal
female of her youth and virtue which strengthens the life force of the old male, thus causing the decay
of the woman. (19)
Chapter 4 If It s Square, It s a Sonnet (**online chapter, so no page numbers**)
A sonnet can charm readers by its form, such as imagery, language, style, and wordplay.
A sonnet must be closely related but requires a certain shift taking place as well.
Most sonnets have two parts: one of 8 lines and the other has 6.
Petrarchan sonnet intertwines two rhyme schemes: the octave and the sestet.
Shakespearean sonnet divides the 14 total lines by 3 groups of 4 (the quatrains), and the last 2 being a
couplet.
The basic pattern for a sonnet is 8/6.
Poems require lines and stanzas, so it explains why a poem is structured in lines, but written in
sentences.
Form (aka: shape) might have its own significance; some authors prefer sonnets over poems that
requires everything to be perfect.
Chapter 5 When in Doubt, It s

Information Communication Technology Ethics
Information and Communication Technology Ethics | Reflections | This document contains the
reflections on all topics and lectures taught in the class mentioned above. | |
Reflection (1)
Philosophy amp; Ethics; allows us to breakout of prejudices and harmful habits that we held since we
were too young or too naïve to know better . Also allows us to see and appreciate other views of the
world and study it to see the consequences of our views , because what we think amp; know might not
be right inconsistent .
What is Ethics? Ethics deals with what we should and should not do, what acts are good and wrong .
Ethics in my point of view is a very crucial yet sensitive controversial topic (Fluffy?).As humans there

Ethics in information communication technology discipline is quite new, mainly because the major
advancement in this system is fairly new as well, where it s constantly changing and developing. The
discipline now also occupied a huge rule in our daily lives, where we are almost always in contact
with technology from the moment we wake up till the moment we sleep.
Digital media significantly now alters our ethical responsibility on one another, because now we live
in the digital world we can t assume that our ways work for everyone , since the world not too long
ago wasn t that close, actions and data didn t travel that fast, people and cultural ethics were preserved
and rarely affected. In the meantime now data is flying everywhere the once local is now global in
minutes maybe seconds and it s just too soon unstudied cultural shocks and misunderstanding occur
more often, but with this misunderstanding with the right people is corrected for good and others
misconceived for good. By these experiences some therefore ethically knowing the cultural difference
would tend to rethink before doing something offensive or controversial to avoid troubles.

The Importance Of Censorship On Books
Censorship or no censorship? This is a question many people ask themselves, and for good reason.
Censorship on books is when an authority, most likely government, prevents access to a book. There
are many people in the U.S. who argue for the censorship of books. Censorship on books is a topic of
debate, sometimes a heated debate. It s existence, however, is wrong. There are many examples of
censored books, many of them Stephen King novels. Stephen King is one of the many examples of
authors who have their books taken from libraries because their work has dark or sexual themes.
Censorship on books should not exist because it takes away human rights and cripples the growth of
children.
Some do not know where to stand on this topic, but there are a few glaring reasons that many people
look over. Some forget that literature is a major important piece of the world and much of the
literature that has been banned is classic literature that has shaped a lot of our world. For example, The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is challenged time and time again due to the fact that
a lot of the language used throughout is unacceptable today. The use of racist words and vulgar
language is very present throughout the classic Twain story. Even though a lot of the language used in
this classic is not acceptable, it s still a classic that arguably shaped an entire genre in the literary
world. Another novel challenged frequently is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The

  • 2. Being A Child Of The 90 s Full House Essay Being a child of the 90 s, Full House was a very popular show for my generation. Least to say when I saw a spin off, Fuller House was being released this past year to Netflix I was extremely excited. Coincidently, the spin off released during the time of this course. Believe it or not, I immediately referenced parenting styles to the episode where DJ Tanner punishes her son a little differently than Kimmy Gibler punishes her daughter, although the committed the same crime. I am hoping to dissect this exact scene, and discuss DJ parenting style towards her son. I find the parenting styles really interesting, specifically the four we discussed in module four and I really want to focus on that here. Earlier in the course, we discussed Darling four parenting styles and for some reason, these really stuck with me. The parenting style theory reflects four different types of parents. Indulgent parents tend to more responsive than they are demanding (Darling) I like to think of indulgent parents as what todays generation thinks of as cool parents . They tend to be more lenient and let the child do as they please because they want to avoid confrontation. Darling also discusses Authoritarian and Authoritative parents which are slightly different. Authoritarian style parents, are a little over barring. To me, I would consider this style to be a bulldozer parent. Authoritarian style parents are very demanding and very directive. They expect the child to do what they re told, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Laser Surgery Research Paper A Few Things To Know About Having Laser Surgery On Your Cataracts If you have cataracts, you may be able to put up with cloudy vision for a few years, but eventually, you ll probably need surgery to remove the cataracts and improve your vision. That s because cataracts continue to grow and your vision gets progressively worse over the years. At some point, your vision may become so impaired you have difficulty driving at night, or you may increase your risk of falling. Laser surgery is no different. Of course, if you want to have laser surgery, you need to make sure the doctor you choose has necessary laser device, computer, and software system in the office, because many doctors still do the procedure by hand. If you have cataracts in both eyes, you ll probably only have one eye done at a time since your vision may be blurry for a few days. Your eyes will be dilated and numbed with medication before the doctor begins, and you ll probably go home with an eye patch. During the surgery, your doctor may be able to insert a new lens that corrects any vision problems you have such as being farsighted or nearsighted. Then, once you ve healed from your surgery, the cloudiness will be gone and your vision might be improved enough to allow you to go without glasses. Deciding on the right time to have the laser surgery depends on different variables. If your cataracts grow slowly, you may be able to put off the surgery for a long time. After India gained independence, the Constitution of India listed backward castes of the people as Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The Constitution laid down 15% and 7.5% of vacancies to government aided educational institutes and for jobs in the government/public sector, as reserved quota for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates respectively for a period of five years, after which the situation was to be reviewed. Reservation, in Indian law is a form of affirmative action whereby a percentage of seats are reserved in the public sector units, union and state civil services, union and state government departments and in all public and private educational institutions, except in the religious or linguistic minority educational institutions, for the socially and educationally backward communities and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. The common refrain tends to be that less qualified people from backward castes in the field of education and employment get preferential treatment because of caste based reservations. My argument is that allocating reservation quotas on the basis of castes is a form of discrimination which is contrary to the right to equality. Reservations on the basis of caste should be reformed as these reservations create discrimination, and the people of the upper castes who truly deserve the opportunity lose it because the reservation is already ... • 9. Carl Rogers Chemical Dependency Counseling Model Introduction The role of a chemical dependency counselor can be a very challenging, yet extremely rewarding one. There are many skills and qualities that the successful counselor possesses. Carl Rogers was the first to spearhead the movement of person centered therapy and he has provided a very influential theory on how a person in treatment should be treated. He deemed these to be the most important elements in the therapeutic movement: unconditional positive regard helps makes change happen because they feel safe and cared about, accurate empathy it is an understanding of what they are going through, congruence be who you are, and lastly the desire to help (Watkins, 2016). These elements are the basic ingredient needed to embark on the journey of recovery with a client. This counseling model is intended to provide in depth detail of the counseling process and covers critical concepts that must be understood to effectively help the chemically dependent. The definition of addiction, the subsequent theories, prevalent disorders, and treatment processes are presented as a guide for counseling the chemically dependent. DSM V criteria for Substance Use Disorder In order to provide the best counseling possible to aid in the recovery of addiction it is necessary to fully understand the definition of substance abuse and dependence (aka addiction). During this time segment, I asked a student to tell me what his data suggested. The student responded that his data suggested that the wave speeds should be equal. His response was accurate; however, I had him expand the answer by asking him to tell me why his wave speeds were supposed to be the same. The student thought about it and realized that the medium a long spring was always the same; this made his answer better, and he then understood that waves in the same medium propagate with the same speed regardless of frequency and wavelength changes. The academic performance benefits of collaborative and cooperative learning have been known for decades because Robert E. Slavin suggested, back in 1980, that students engaged in cooperative or collaborative learning perform better academically than students learning through traditional lecture methods of instruction; his results are still supported today. In addition, Bruce Joyce corroborates that learning through group investigations emphasizes social development, academic skills, and personal understanding (2015). • 14. The Rise Of Consumerism During World War II In today s times, Americans are never too far from a drive through fast food restaurant or a shopping mall. Products such as televisions, microwaves, and cars are necessities in homes in 2014. America was not always the consumerist nation it is now. With thousands of American servicemen returning home after World War II, the United States was filled with an energy that had long been repressed by an economic depression in the 1930 s. By the 1950 s, Americans were ready to move on from the war and start families. Thousands of jobs were created to accommodate all those retuning home, which caused the United States economy to flourish. Since more people were working and receiving higher wages, they were eager to start spending. Because of this, consumerism skyrocketed in the 1950 s. Along with positive post war attitudes, suburbanization and the development of new products can also be attributed to the rise of consumerism during this period. As many American men fought in World War II, the United States economy had slowly started to pick itself up after a devastating crash in 1929 that lasted over a decade. Most men were drafted into the war, which left many jobs open back in the States. To fill these jobs women and African Americans were recruited to fill them, thus making unemployment nearly nonexistent during this period. After World War II had ended, Americans came home with a determination to keep the recovery going. A key way to achieve this was to spend money. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, Redistricting and Gerrymandering they are basically the same. Gerrymandering is simply attempting to find a political advantage in redistricting. Also it is very often the case that redistricting is sought for political advantage. Redistricting can be used to favor certain parties; for example, districts can be drawn to include areas with larger numbers of Democrats or Republicans, as long as the population numbers remain consistent. But, some line drawing can protect incumbents, they will face a potent challenger, either from their own party or the opposite party. Consequently, redistricting has a direct bearing on what matters a legislature chooses to tackle, and which to ignore (Brennen). The People should understand how their district is drawn and whether they will have a fair chance to elect a candidate of their choice. A good redistricting process would benefit the public and help secure a significant representation. Rather than gathering the lawful obligation that all votes must count equally. A film industry does not just pick places based on looks and reputation, but, they take into consideration the nightlife of the place. It is necessary to have nightlife, and formal industry events (gallery openings, fashion shows) in the creative economy (Currid E, 2007). Woody Allen, and American actor, writer and director, is a wonderful example of the international film industry. He has filmed several movies in London, Barcelona, Paris and Rome. He also hopes to film in Germany and Denmark all which are big metropolitans with nightlife. Allen s actions were influenced by the public policies promoted to keep and attract film production to certain areas. Some places have matured policies in place to ensure the production of films in major European cities to boost their economy; for example, Paris (Mission Cinema), London (Film London), Berlin (Berlin Brandenburg Film Commission and the Medienboard) and Vienna (Vienna Film Fund). These policies are put in place to attract the film industry and its revenues to Europe and away from Hollywood (Scoffier A, 2013). At this point in time criminal justice is needed more than ever in America and the world as we know it today. The criminal justice system has improved more and more throughout history by changing something as simple as law enforcement officer s purpose and who they are taking orders from. The objective of this analysis is to break down these three criminal justice subjects: the juvenile justice system, prison life and the different policing eras. Juveniles has an extensive background of violent crimes throughout history. Ever since the 1990s crime rates for youth has decreased in some way compared to the late 18th century and early 19th century. These descending crime rates have driven numerous of jurisdictions to reconsider how they go about juvenile justices practices, which were so popular so many years ago. States launched dominant systematic reforms arranged to diminish institutional incarceration. Punishment for youth by the courts consisted off jails and penitentiaries. From an historical aspect the idea; of having a different legal structure for youth offenders is rather new. In the Geochronology map it shows that when plates spread a part which is a divergent boundary, then as magma heats and cools, new sea floor is created and the old sea is pushed out with the continents. In Ihara Saikaku s story, Life of a Sensuous Woman, and Mary Wollstonecraft s work, Vindication of the Rights of Woman , the issue of double standards in gender are examined. Both pieces offer a perspective into the lives of women during their respective times and show how some standards that are considered favorable for men, are looked down upon for women. In particular, the two works examine how women were treated differently based on their education, their social status and even their sexual history. Saikaku looks at these issues in a different lens from Wollstonecraft, based on his experiences as a man living in Japan in the 17th century. Their experiences shape their works and show how the issue of double standards of gender span culture, time and geography. In Wollstonecraft s work, she addresses the differences between men and women as being something that should be considered negligible, but instead is used to practically enslave one half of the population. The work details how women are akin to playthings when they lack an education, and that for her to truly be herself and practice her own free will, she must be knowledgeable. However, there are many different kinds of education, Wollstonecraft points out. Men received a formal education, consisting of a proper teaching of many subjects, while also aiding the young men in personal growth. Women, on the other hand, received a much less formal education. It is true we are no longer killing people for having a mental disorder because of the belief it is a demon possessing them, but we still have a long way to go in correcting how we still treat those with these disorders. The two have their differences, but mental and physical disorders are equal in how they are both illnesses deserving the same respect and treatment. Mental disorders are diseases of the brain that cause impairment in one s behaviors, thoughts, or moods. On the other hand, physical disorders are diseases that cause pain to the physical body itself. By definitions, both mental disorders and physical disorders are both diseases. These two types of disorders are similar in the way that they both have symptoms, they can be treated with modern medicine, and they both alter the lives of those who live with them. They are both considered medically to make people sick, so why do people still react to mental disorders as if they are lesser than physical disorders? To this day mental disorders are still questioned and looked down upon in ways that physical disorders could never even compare, and that needs to change. Examples of this difference in treatment is shown immediately throughout the early stages of a diagnosis. There is no such thing as moral obligation in my books, however there does exist courtesy or kind heartedness. Peter Singer s argument regarding famine, affluence, and morality is, in my opinion, strongly influenced by sympathetic and empathetic feelings based on observations in a still developing country. In a sense, his reasoning is subjective and biased because he seems to focus only on the problem, and not the circumstances that could have prevented such problems from the beginning. I will elaborate on some of the loopholes in his arguments, and further clarify why the more fortunate people (in terms of wealth) should NOT be morally obligated to help the poor, rather they should have the choice of being courteous or kind, and they should have the freedom to spend the money they worked so hard for according to their own agenda. To start, I would like to establish that suffering and death from lack of food and other necessities is indeed a bad thing. There is no counter argument to that statement. However, the problem lies in the second and third premises, which states that (2) if it is in our power to prevent something bad from happening, then we have a moral duty to do it; (3) therefore, we have a moral duty to help the poor. According to Singer, the second premise is comprised of a strong and weak argument. The strong argument states that the wealthy people should help the poor people at a ... The Equality Trust defines economic inequality, as the gap between the well off and less well of in regards to overall economic distribution ( How Is ). See, our capitalist society strongly benefits those with a capitalist mentality and can afford the means to invest/own capital. Over the years there has been an increasing wealth gap between the top one percent earners and the general population. So why are the rich flourishing while the poor are struggling in this capitalist environment? The policy decisions of our country allow this inequality to permeate throughout our industries, thus creating a culture of power and greed. One result of this culture is the explosion of high salaries in the US and Emmanuel Saez explains this trend in Striking it Richer. Saez affirms, Indeed, estimates based purely on wages and salaries show that the share of total wage and salaries earned by the top 1 percent wage income earners has jumped from 5.1 percent in 1970 to 12.0 percent in 2006 (Grusky 89). Too bad that the 99 percent of America missed out on this massive economic growth spurt. When economic growth is not evenly distributed among the general population, people tend to question our entire system. This has been an increasingly controversial issue, where corporate America is responsible for the constant exploitation of low level employees. Through my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yes answering, I did what was necessary to protect fellow Americans of the United States. Interjecting, I said, If you plan on joining you will find that making difficult decisions can be easy and some may not, and there is a high chance or get injured or killed. A year later preparing to transition into civilian life I had gotten x rays and an MRI for diagnosis of my physical condition for my disability claim. Come to find out that I had nerve damage and a compressed disc in my lower left back. Scheduling a chiropractor, these sessions helped for a while to try and realign my lower back relieving some of the pain to walk normal once more. • 45. Shakespeare Sonnet Analysis Chapter 3 Nice to Eat You: Acts of Vampires Vampirism isn t exclusively about vampires; it s about selfishness and exploitation as well. (16) While writers typically use ghosts, vampires, and werewolves as a cheap thrill, they could symbolize many aspects of reality. (17) It can show how someone grows in strength by weakening someone else. (22) Use other people to get what one desires. (22) Place one s desires above someone else s needs. (22) The story of a vampire usually follows a cycle: a corrupt, old fashioned figure strips a young, virginal female of her youth and virtue which strengthens the life force of the old male, thus causing the decay of the woman. (19) Chapter 4 If It s Square, It s a Sonnet (**online chapter, so no page numbers**) A sonnet can charm readers by its form, such as imagery, language, style, and wordplay. A sonnet must be closely related but requires a certain shift taking place as well. Most sonnets have two parts: one of 8 lines and the other has 6. Petrarchan sonnet intertwines two rhyme schemes: the octave and the sestet. Shakespearean sonnet divides the 14 total lines by 3 groups of 4 (the quatrains), and the last 2 being a couplet. The basic pattern for a sonnet is 8/6. Poems require lines and stanzas, so it explains why a poem is structured in lines, but written in sentences. Form (aka: shape) might have its own significance; some authors prefer sonnets over poems that requires everything to be perfect. Chapter 5 When in Doubt, It s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Information Communication Technology Ethics Information and Communication Technology Ethics | Reflections | This document contains the reflections on all topics and lectures taught in the class mentioned above. | | Reflection (1) Philosophy amp; Ethics; allows us to breakout of prejudices and harmful habits that we held since we were too young or too naïve to know better . Also allows us to see and appreciate other views of the world and study it to see the consequences of our views , because what we think amp; know might not be right inconsistent . What is Ethics? Ethics deals with what we should and should not do, what acts are good and wrong . Ethics in my point of view is a very crucial yet sensitive controversial topic (Fluffy?).As humans there are ... Ethics in information communication technology discipline is quite new, mainly because the major advancement in this system is fairly new as well, where it s constantly changing and developing. The discipline now also occupied a huge rule in our daily lives, where we are almost always in contact with technology from the moment we wake up till the moment we sleep. Digital media significantly now alters our ethical responsibility on one another, because now we live in the digital world we can t assume that our ways work for everyone , since the world not too long ago wasn t that close, actions and data didn t travel that fast, people and cultural ethics were preserved and rarely affected. In the meantime now data is flying everywhere the once local is now global in minutes maybe seconds and it s just too soon unstudied cultural shocks and misunderstanding occur more often, but with this misunderstanding with the right people is corrected for good and others misconceived for good. By these experiences some therefore ethically knowing the cultural difference would tend to rethink before doing something offensive or controversial to avoid troubles. • 47. The Importance Of Censorship On Books Censorship or no censorship? This is a question many people ask themselves, and for good reason. Censorship on books is when an authority, most likely government, prevents access to a book. There are many people in the U.S. who argue for the censorship of books. Censorship on books is a topic of debate, sometimes a heated debate. It s existence, however, is wrong. There are many examples of censored books, many of them Stephen King novels. Stephen King is one of the many examples of authors who have their books taken from libraries because their work has dark or sexual themes. Censorship on books should not exist because it takes away human rights and cripples the growth of children. Some do not know where to stand on this topic, but there are a few glaring reasons that many people look over. Some forget that literature is a major important piece of the world and much of the literature that has been banned is classic literature that has shaped a lot of our world. For example, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is challenged time and time again due to the fact that a lot of the language used throughout is unacceptable today. The use of racist words and vulgar language is very present throughout the classic Twain story. Even though a lot of the language used in this classic is not acceptable, it s still a classic that arguably shaped an entire genre in the literary world. Another novel challenged frequently is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
