International Criminal Court Unfair Towards African...
Is the International Criminal Court unfair towards African Nations vis Г vis Western Nations?
On October 12, 2016, the parliament of Burundi, a country located in the Eastern part of Africa
voted to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) with a vote of 94 to 2. Weeks
earlier, Gambia and South Africa announced their intention to withdraw from the ICC, and this
wave of action by these three African nations has paved the way for other African nations to
reassess if they wanted to still be part of the ICC. Since its establishment in 1998, the ICC has tried
criminals of war mainly from African members states. This treatment has raised a lot of concerns
within African nations, and they are expressing themselves about the unfair treatments and bias
towards them from the International Criminal Court by threatening to leave this longtime praised
establishment..
Created on July 17, 1998 in Rome, Italy, after more than 120 nations voted in favor of the Rome
Statute, the International Criminal Court is an independent court that tries individuals or groups
for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, and could open investigations when referred
to by the United Nations Security Council. In order to veto or approve of its policies or
resolutions, nations need to be members, and as of 2016 there are 124 members in the ICC. Not
to be confused with the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the ICC only deals with war related
issues, whereas the ICJ s role (The

Malcom X
MALCOLM X Learning to Read Malcolm Little, born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1925, was reborn
Malcolm X in his twenties while imprisoned for burglary. (He considered Little a slave name and
chose the X to signify his lost African tribal name.) His conversion to Islam under the Nation of
Islam and his rigorous self education led him to a life ofpolitical activism marked by hatred,
violence, and hope. For a time, as the foremost spokesman of the Nation of Islam, Malcolm
preached a separatist philosophy with racist rhetoric; on breaking with the Nation of Islam and
converting to orthodox Islam after a pilgrimage to Mecca, Malcolm again changed his name (to El
Hajj Malik El Shabazz) and philosophy, moving closer to the integrationist goals... Show more

5 I was so fascinated that I went on I copied the dictionary s ro next page. And the same
experience came when I studied that. With every succeeding page, I also learned of people and
places and events from history. Actually the dictionary is like a miniature encyclopedia. Finally
the dictionary s A section had filled a whole tablet and I went on into the B s. That was the way I
started copying what eventually became the entire dictionary. It went a lot faster after so much
practice helped me to pick up handwriting speed. Between what I wrote in my tablet, and writing
letters, during the rest of my time in prison I would guess I wrote a million words. I suppose it
was inevitable that as my word base broadened, I could for the first time pick up a book and read
and now begin to understand what the book was saying. Anyone who has read a great deal can
imagine the new world that opened. Let me tell you something: from then until I left that prison,
in every free moment I had, if I was not reading in the library I was reading on my bunk. You
couldn t have gotten me out of books with a wedge. Between Mr. Muhammad s teachings, my
correspondence, my visitors usually Ella and Reginald and my reading of books, months passed
without my even thinking about being imprisoned. In fact, up to then, I never had been so truly

Nellie Bly s Report
Nellie Bly was an American journalist who is widely known for her record breaking trip around
the world. She started with working for the Pittsburgh Dispatch, where she wrote about the lives
of working women and investigated articles of women factory workers. Later on Nellie worked on
my Asylum ExposГ©, where she took an undercover assignment for which she agreed to feign
insanity to investigate reports of brutality and neglect at the Women s Lunatic Asylum. Nellie s
report about the experience was later published as Ten days in a Madhouse, which prompted the
asylum to implement reforms. Then she took her trip around the world. Bly turned the fictional

Assessing the Impacts of Hurricane Katrina and the Macondo...
Oil spills are usually associated with environmental disasters; because of this the Oil Pollution Act
of 1990 and related policies have inadequate amount of tools that will help humans deal with these
accidents. When the Macondo blow out happened, we had to assess the impact that it also had on
human health, mental and physical because it had affected a large area. The Macondo spill
unfortunately happened less than five years after Hurricane Katrina damaged Louisianaand
Mississippi coast. Clearly, a lesson that was learnt from the oil spillwas that the nation wasn t
prepared for widespread, poor effects on human health and mental well being. Most of the
communities along the Gulf had resided there for the majority of their lives or at least 20 years; this
oil spill had worried the residents about payments, money issues, and the stability of their
communities, which in turn affected their health.
From what happened during Hurricane Katrina and now the oil spill, speakers Sharon Gauthe and
Gracie Scire are really trying to stress the importance of the need for additional community mental
health services. The citizens are trying to cope with physical ailments and stress and even though
the health agencies issued personal protective equipment guidelines for response workers and
created a registry of these newly trained personnel, they missed the crucial window for screening
their baseline physical health before the workers were directly exposed to oil products; Industry and

Differences Between European Spanish And Latin American...
There are numerous variations of Spanish, of course, and a native speaker is expected to
understand all those variations, but for a new learner it can be confusing, since each Spanish
speaker country has their own accent, dialects, how to people address each other, and the way
they conjugate the verbs. The purpose of this essay is contrast and compare the differences
between European Spanish and Latin America Spanish when it comes about pronunciation,
vocabulary, phonological differences and so on. The most notable difference is Ustedes vs
Nosotros. European Spanish has two plural forms for the English you when address two or more
people, which is Vosotros and Ustedes. In Spain, both are used. Vosotros is the option for
informal conversations, while ustedes is used in formal context. In contrast, in Latin America
you will always use ustedes to refer to a group. It does not matter if you are talking to your
friends, bosses, or your parents (Nagel). Subsequent the last point, we are going to discuss Usted
versus Tu versus vos. In Latin America, usted is more common to hear, but, once people is getting
more comfortable with each other, they may request you to use the tu form, which is reserved for
family and friends. But in some countries, such as Paraguay, El Salvador, Argentina and Honduras
they use vos instead of tu, which is equally informal. Same case in Spain, usted is reserved for
very formal situations. Instead, tu you can use it with younger people or informal

Similarities Between Animal Farm And The Truman Show
How can achieve the good life? How can we make make a utopia? These are some of the
questions when a human gets enough power and control! Within both of the stories, Animal
Farm (written by George Orwell) and The Truman Show (directed by Peter Weir). Both author
and director explore these three themes . The good life, a utopia and power are some of the keys to
living a full and grateful life. To have a utopia you must have a good life and to have a good life
you must have power within your life.
In the movie The Truman Show Peter Weirshows that power is to control another person s life in
one way or another. Whereas in animal farm to have power is to control.
The main point can be shown within christof who is the director of the show who controls where
truman worked, where he lived and even who he marries. Christof has ultimate power over
truman and whatever he does until Truman finds his own freedom within the set, this was
shown in one of the end scenes when Christof makes the weather horrible so truman couldn t
escape from the dome. This shows that Christof had the most power because he could control
another person s life and what they did. Similarly in animal farm power is shown in control and
that to have power you have to control over a group, this is shown at the start when farmer jones
is in control of all of the animals on the farm and then when the pigs take over to controll all of the
other animals. These were shown when the pigs had to have a farm vote to

Essay On Zimbardo And Milgram Experiment
The two experiments were a tested at different time periods and for different purposes. For instance,
the Milgram experiment was originally tested to study obedience to authority, in response to Adolf
Eichmann trial, a Nazi war criminal, that stated he, was just stating orders under the Reich. The
experiment proved to be that under authority rule, actions, even if morally wrong and unethical can
be still taken forward with due to a strict authority presence.
The two experiments were similar in which they attained two distinct experimental groups, except
for the Milgram experiment, and no control groups. The test subjects were classified in the Milgram
experiment as students, teachers, and experimenters. While in the Zimbardo experiment ... Show

Based on the results given in the Zimbardo experiment, Zimbardo (1975) contended that identity
contrasts of the subjects were substantially less vital than the social circumstance. Zimbardo went
considerably more further with his experiment than Milgram had by rejecting the significance of
identity qualities for a large portion of one s behavior in regular day to day existence: He states,
Individual behavior is largely under the control of social forces and environmental contingencies
rather than personality traits, character, will power or other empirically invalidated constructs.
Thus, we create an illusion of freedom by attributing more internal control to ourselves, to the
individual, than it actually exists. Thus underestimating the power and pervasiveness of
situational controls over behavior because: 1) they are often non obvious and subtle, 2) we can
often avoid entering situations where we might be so controlled, and 3) we label as weak or
deviant people in those situations who do behave differently from how we believe we would. (p.
115)
A noteworthy contrast amongst Zimbardo s and Milgram s investigations is that, in the jail think
about, just a single test control was performed being appointed to the part of detainee or protect.
This is a noteworthy impediment since we can t know, as we did in the Milgram think about, which
factors in the circumstance were most essential for the practices

Laissez Faire Capitalism In The Gilded Age
Before the Gilded Age, economic growth came to a halt because of the Depression of 1873. The
depression led to the bankruptcy of many banks and railroads, and resulted in hundreds of
thousands of people out of work. The Liberal Republican party also emerged as result of the
depression. Liberal Republicans were strong advocates for laissez faire policies, where there is no
government regulation in businesses or the economy. With this ideology, liberal republicans
believed that it would help stimulate economic growth and create more jobs. While liberal
republicans were unsuccessful in getting into office, they helped push the Democratic party (who
were able to get control of the House in 1784) shift their agenda to supporting laissez faire
capitalism. By 1879, The Depression of 1873 had ended and the second Industrial Revolution began.
Laissez Faire capitalism became the dominating force of the Industrial Revolution that began during
the Gilded Age. The idea that Laissez Faire capitalism could help bring prosperity to the common
man was pushed by writer Horatio Alger, who published books that assured young readers that if
they were honest, hardworking, and had a good character, they could leave poverty behind and
succeed in the new competitive economy brought by the second industrial revolution. This idea was
also reinforced through the success of industrialists like John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and
Cornelius Vanderbilt, who came from humble backgrounds. Laissez Faire

Women s Rights After 1848 Research Paper
In the year of 1848, about 240 men and women combines attended the Seneca Falls Convention.
They voted for decisions that demanded equality for women at work, at school, and at church.
There was only one decision at the convention that met with any resistance, and this was
demanding the women a right to vote. But, after hesitation and bold reformers, the decision nearly
passed. After 1848, women worked for change in many areas. They fought for additional legal
rights in some states and won the battle. For instance, in New York, the city passed a laws allowing
married women to keep their own property and wages once they married. Although this law passed,
many men and women opposed the women s rights movements and the struggle for equal rights

Addiction In Double Down
With the broad spectrum of addictions being diagnosed, analyzed, and remedied people mostly
ignore the other side of what addictions can also cause. Relationships can be created and destroyed
because of addictions and recovery is a tremendous struggle. In Double Down. The authors and
brothers, Fredrick and Stephen Barthelme, told of their addictionto gambling and the illusions of
the casinos. They had led normal lives excluding their gambling addictions, both being Professors
at the college level. No previous accounts of addiction to drugs or alcohol were had, but following
the death of their parents and receiving a massive inheritance they had turned to gambling. They

Relationships vary from person to person, whether it s between lovers or siblings in these cases. In

Summary Of The Turning By Tim Winton
The Turning is a collection of short stories that follow the lives of the same characters at different
critical moments in their lives, by the multi award winning Australian author Tim Winton. These
stories create their own turning, a sense that life somehow, even at its lowest, goes on. In the
turning Winton combines accessibility and a strong sense of common characterinto seventeen short
stories. Winton creates characters facing limited life choices which gives an engaging
perspective to the characters inside the book. In this text response I ll be focused on three of
these included stories, entitled On Her Knees , Damaged Goods and Fog . These stories all
involve the story of Victor Lang and his life and relationships.

A Path Out Of Pain Research Paper

Why do we have pain?
A girl stubs her toe Ouch, she exclaims that hurts. This is what everybody calls pain; a physical
thing that is very unpleasant. Everyone, of the billions or even trillions of people on earth go
through it. A person is probably going through it right now and nobody except the people around
that person know about it. Pain is common though no one wants to figure out the simplest
questions. For example why do we have pain and other questions related to it. Though now people
can finally get answers. It is important to understand what causes pain to know the reason behind it,
the different varieties, and what a person experiences.
Pain, everybody want to know what causes it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though not always are the reactions better for us, there are better responses than ones that can
harm a person s body even more. For example, in the article A Path Out of Pain it tells others
some reactions people go through, some reactions for people is they tense up and that person
then holds that person s breath, freeze and/or ar frantic, or even make noises. It just all depends
on the person. ( n.p.). This can tell people what kind of reactions that a person does and then
learn, as well as try not to do it for it harms the body more than helps it. This is important for it
then shows people that even a person s reaction will not always help the situation at hand. More
evidence says, in A Path Out of Pain this Instead of reacting you could choose to respond. For
example: instead of tensing up you could relax; instead of holding your breath you could breath
gently; instead of changing your position constantly you could let yourself be still; and instead
of making faces, holding, yourself or sighing, you could let the experience in and let pain be. (
n.p.). This demonstrates that people should do the things listed above so that anybody who is
hurt does not harm the body part even more. This is significant because it can help people
respond different than be angry. A person can feel calmer and at least a little relaxed for that
person knows what to do. This tells people that how you react can hurt more, but some of the
responses that were listed could help a person get through the pain that will come in the

The Falling Man By Richard Drew
The Falling Man, taken by Richard Drew on September 11, 2001, remains one of the most
controversial, yet underappreciated images of the 21st Century. The picture captures one of the
final moments of a victim from the World Trade Center, who chose to commit suicide rather than
perish in the burning fires on the top floor. As the man plunges to his doom, he is positioned
upside down with legs flailing in the air. In the background lies the Twin Towers, positioned
precisely to split right in the middle of both the image and the man himself. Understandably, this
scene drew much backlash by the public, as it revealed the private moments of a man on the worst
day in modern American history. At the same time, it also caused others to reflect soberly

The Life of Queen Elizabeth I Essay
The Life of Queen Elizabeth I
Queen Elizabeth was born in Greenwich Palace on September 7, 1533.
She died on March 24, 1603, of natural causes. Her father was Henry VII.
His second wife, Anne Boleyn was Elizabeth s mother. King Henry wanted a son, but received a
daughter, instead, from his second wife. Before
Elizabeth s third birthday, Henry had her mother beheaded on charges of adultery and treason.
Elizabeth was brought up in a separate household at Hatfield (not known). King Henry s third wife
gave birth to a son. This boy was named
Edward. Edward was declared first in line for King Henry s throne, while
Mary (Daughter of Henry s first wife) was declared second, and Elizabeth was declared third and ...

At this time, Elizabeth s Privy council drew up a Bond of Association which pledged that its
signers, in an attempt on Elizabeth s life, would kill the assassins along with the claimant to the
throne who the attempt was made for. In the mid 1580s, it was clear that a direct military
confrontation between England and Spain was unavoidable in the near future.
Word reached London that the Spanish king, Philip II, had started to assemble together an
enormous fleet that would sail to the Netherlands, and join forces with a waiting Spanish army led
by the duke of Parma. After joining forces, this fleet would proceed to invade and probably conquer
the now protestant England.
The always conservative queen reluctantly had authorized sufficient funds to maintain a fleet of
maneuverable, well armed fighting ships, to which other ships from the merchant fleet would be
added.
In July 1588, the Invincible Armada reached the English water and the queen s ships. In one of the
most famous naval encounters of history, the queen s ships defeated the enemy fleet, which then in
an attempt to return to Spain, was all but destroyed by terrible storms.
At the time when the Spanish invasion was expected, Queen Elizabeth decided to review in person,
a detachment of soldiers assembled at Tilbury.
She was dressed in a white gown and a silver breastplate and she rode through the camp and

improving security and reducing electricity usage by limiting the unnecessary use of electric

The Humanitarian Crisis in Chechnya
The situation in Chechnya is out of hand, a senseless echo of Stalin in a day where the
expression of such rank evil should not occur or be tolerated. An interview with a local Chechen
refugee solidified my understanding of the situation. However, meeting a survivor face to face
also made the situation seem more real and therefore much more painful. When asked to
comment on the film Crying Sun, my subject took a deep breath. This is just like what happened
in our village, she said. There were land mines everywhere. The paratroopers came a lot. Once
we ran to the neighbor s house barefoot, just like the woman in the movie said. They looted from
our homes too. My cousins died. Many Chechens have lived in their respective villages not just for
generations, but for centuries. My interview subject revealed her knowledge that many of her
ancestors from a long time ago were Jewish, and that some of the people trace their tribal lineage to
the Biblical times. There is a sense of senselessness to the killing that transcends rational thought.
The so called rebels have been painted as terrorists by the skillful propaganda machine; any rational
analysis of the situation in Chechnya reveals the real truth. As Rodrigue (2008) points out,
Chechnya is important for the Russians because of access to strategic oil reserves in the Caucasus.
Although some of the Caucasus nations obtained their independence, like Georgia and Armenia in
the southern Caucasus, the new Russian

Many kids around the world are in sports to play for the competition and winning. Starting out as

How To Write A Research Paper On Bea Beam Miller
Beam launchers work on two phases, beam placing and moving forwards. The beam placing
operates in two ways depending on where beams are delivered. On one condition, that beams are
delivered on the ground level, lifting trolley will pick them up directly by both ends. On the
other condition, that beams are delivered at abutment, by two trucks or other carriers at each
side, the front trolley will pick up the front end of beams, then the front end of beams will be
released from carrier; the front trolley moves forward, simultaneously with another carrier and
beams, until the rear end of beams are at the same horizontal position of the rear trolley. The rear
trolley will pick up the rear end of beams then, and once again the beams will be released from
carrier. After the trolley getting the beams at deck level, the latter will be placed onto the bearings.

San Diego Comic-Con
In the last couple of year, entertainment thought to be niche started to seep its way into pop
culture. One main testament to this is the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), which has thousands
of fans in attendance every year. My first Con I attended was this one, in the summer of 2013,
and it was an amazing experience. It showed the devotion and love many fans had for franchises
they cared for. On the other hand, it also demonstrated hype culture and how big studios can
have an effect on art and culture. No matter how you look at it, Comic con has become a major
player in mass media, but what exactly is Comic con, and what is its cultural significance? San

watched the commissioner push and throw Hedda around, I started thinking about domestic
violence. It was a scary thing to watch, and it must be terrifying to experience. When the
commissioner spit his drink on Hedda, I felt physically sick. Prior to this, I really did not like
Hedda, but as Hedda began to realize that she had no power to stop the commissioner, my heart
softened toward her. At the end of the play, I experienced another visceral response when Hedda
committed suicide in order free herself from the power of the commissioner. I watched this play
just three weeks after a family member committed suicide. He was in extreme physical pain, and
there was nothing that doctors could do for him. He took his own life in order to free himself
from this physical pain. Watching Hedda take her own life really made me sad for my own loss.
I really wanted to leave the play, but since I really needed to view the final moments, I sat glued
to my seat, hoping something else would happen that would make me feel better. When that did
not occur, I was actually mad. This really was a difficult play for me to watch.
Throughout the play, I noticed that I felt a connection with Berte. Berte, the maid in this story, sat
in the corner for the entire play and was not really significant to the storyline. Her job was to
inform Hedda Gabler and Jorgen Tesman who is entering the apartment. In a recent production of
A Time to Kill at my community college, I played the part of Norma Gallo, the court reporter.
During the scenes in which I was present, I sat typing on a typewriter and, like Berte, I was not
very significant to the storyline. For the duration of the production, Berte is more or less a people
watcher. I, too, am somewhat of a people watcher; when I am in a group of strangers, I think about
who they might be and make up stories about their lives. I enjoy watching from a distance, but not
being a part of what is happening. Another reason, that I

Layoff Simulation
Background:
In this simulation exercise I will be discussing about the companies starting layoffs. The situation
below will be highlighting the perspective of employees who are working in an environment
where people are being focused to leave their jobs for company s benefit. Company s inability to
afford the employees, start of new venture or change in management can be the reason behind layoff
.
Scenario:
The scenario of this simulation concentrates on the employees who are stressed working in an
environment where other employees are being discharged. This is not an easy situation for other
employees being aware that they might be the next victim. There are employees who have worked

The Literary Genre Of 2 Peter
The literary genre of 2 Peter is an epistle written to the main personalities, an implied group of
believers in Asia Minor and other places around that region. The author is the Apostle Peter a
dedicated servant and disciple of Jesus. The date that the letter was written has some
controversy, however, in his correspondence Peter mentions that his life is coming to an end, and
Peter was martyred for his faith in Rome about A.D. 64 67. Therefore, establishing the date of
Peter s second letter within that time frame. Peter wrote out of love to defend and protect the
immutable word of God. The letters main purpose was to warn fellow devotees about false
teachers that would try to enter their churches and mislead them in their faith. Peter goes on to
explain the false teachers can be recognized by their prideful behavior, their love of money, and
disrespect to God. (Life Application Study Bible 1507,1918) Peter uses instances from the past,
such as Sodom and Gomorrah and the great flood to stress the judgment and punishment that will
come to unbelievers who reject God. The apostle also warns that there will be those that will
mock God and dismiss the second coming of Christ. He advises the believers to have confidence in
the promises, prophecies, and principles given through God s inspired word. (Hindson, Towns)
Peter cautions God will return without warning and find individuals unwary. However, Peter
reasons that God is patient and delays His return for unbelievers, not

Quality Improvement Initiative Falls Management Program
Quality Improvement Initiative Falls Management Program in Nursing Homes
Falls are very common among nursing home residents. Residents in nursing homes are more likely
to fall due to their age, chronic health conditions, medication, or change in the environment after
admission to the facility. The people who provide care every day in nursing homes know firsthand
how critical falling can be to the health of the residents they care for. Fall prevention is critical in
order to decrease falls in nursing homes. There are programs that are designed to help nursing home
staff members identify the reason for resident fall. These programs give a preventive measure that
assures accuracy and sensitivity of patients risk from falling. The Falls Management Program
(FMP) is one of these programs. The Falls Management Program (FMP) is a multifaceted quality
improvement initiative that is designed to assist nursing homes, it includes assessment,
individualized care planning, resident monitoring, and the elimination of environmental safety
hazards (Taylor, J., Parmelee, P., Brown, H., Ouslander, J., 2005). FMP also improves care
processes and outcomes through educational, staff training and quality improvement tools and
ongoing consultation by qualified falls nurse. There are several reasons why FMP is significant.
Research shows that about half of the nursing home residents in the U.S. fall each year and it is
estimated that 1 in 3 of those who fall will fall in the future. Falling

Joyner Lucas I M Sorry Meaning
Rough Draft Essay #4 The song I chose was I m Sorry by the artist Joyner Lucas. This song has a
pretty deep meaning to me. It s about a man who commits suicide. Last year around Christmas
time I met this guy. He was a friend of a close family member of mine. He was always hanging
around them so naturally we started talking. I m the type of person who cares about people a
little too much. I started noticing that he got more quiet and more to himself. I never thought he
wanted to hurt himself. I trusted him and he knew he could trust me too. Things at home weren
t good. He was hurting. No kid should ever go through that (he is my age). A couple weeks later
things seemed like they were getting better. He used music as his escape. Me and him would talk
about different songs that we liked and how they affected how we felt. Cheesy stuff like that. Then
one night at around 11 p.m. ish he sends me a link to the song I m Sorry. I listened to it. All I
remember is so many things going through my head. My brother in the hospital, his funeral, my...

My story has a meaningful story behind it. The story is deep for me and even for the artist and
probably for many other people. Hearing songs like this can inspire you. It inspired me to be
thankful for the people in my life. One day they can be here the next they could be gone. You
never know what s going on in their lives. The question is why should we read? You get inspired
by reading. It also helps you succeed. Given that reading can help, one story was about a boy
who struggled with English. This story was Inside Out. He painted and read which inspired him
to succeed in school. (brief summary from pages 11 18) Hence the story by Sharon Cho. It was
about a girl who was sick. Reading inspired her to become a better person. It also helped her with
her English too. She was very sick but reading certain books inspired her to become a better
person and enjoy life. (brief summary from pages

My Personal Statement Of Ecology
For me to fall in love with science, and ecology in particular, has been a lifelong process. I was
lucky to have experienced an early discovery of the joys and nuances of nature and this was
supported throughout my youth and adulthood by teachers, peers, and most importantly, my family.
My first memory, of seeing light filtering through swaying trees above me, is indicative of the
beauty and tranquility that naturehas provided me throughout my life. Although I have always had
an innate respect and enjoyment of the environment, this feeling was amplified every time i would
visit my family in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico. These frequent trips to a pristine environment
were what ultimately changed my perspective on the world, my personal values, and led me to
pursue an education in ecology.

Although they had never studied it in universities, they knew more about their land and its
conservation than I ever could. They were aware of the common names of every species, of how
to grow what they needed, how to pollinate and take care of the soil, and how to raise and
maintain animals. My family knew how to live off of the land while tending to it for future
generations. My mom and her siblings were able to turn the soil to maintain maximum growth
and could grow livestock to use the resources provided by them. They know which plants are
medicinal and beneficial, as well as which ones can be deadly. These concepts, of being able to
conserve the environment, are what I focus on learning now. When I apply the concepts I learn
in my biology classes, such as on a recent restoration project in Baja California, I am reminded of
what my family taught me to do from a young age. Due to my experience of the beauty and
grandeur of Valparaiso, Mexico, it feels only natural for me to keep pushing towards the
conservation and restoration of places like

The Physical Pattern Of The Urban Tissue Of Shahjahanabad
The river was an important part of the city, access to which was provided through ghats (wide
flights of steps along the banks) such as Nigambodh ghat and Raj ghat. The Yamuna was an artery
along which river borne traffic travelled. It was a bathing area, particularly for Hindus who
considered its waters sacred. It was also a recreational space where fairs, swimming competitions,
kite flying, took place.
Shahjahanabad, like any other living city is constantly changing and evolving. The physical pattern
of the urban tissue of Shahjahanabad was completed by the 19th century. In the 1850s map
available, the urban morphology depicted is the same as can be seen today. However, events in
history have left their mark on this planned city, changing it over time. This is especially true for
the Red Fort, Chandni chowk, etc.
When the British first moved into Delhi, they established the area in north Shahjahanabad as the
centre of administrative power, adding several new colonial buildings, both religious and
institutional in nature or simply adding to or coopting older buildings. This area has perhaps seen
the bulk of this transformation. The earliest church in Delhi, the St. James Church, built by Colonel
James Skinner was in this area and has altered very little since its construction in 1836. The only
other Anglican church of that era, the St. Stephen s Church near the Fatehpuri Mosque was built
only much later, in about 1867. The church has recently been restored and its roof

Performance Management, Benefits and Service
Chapter 10: Performance Management:
(21 Oct 13)
According Dressler, assessment happens in the workplace of the organization in three different
ways depending on the situation, such as the following: Evaluation by the immediate supervisor:
the supervisor should be the best person to assess his or her employees, because of the supervisors
of these are directly related to the performance of the staff. As a result, it would be easy to evaluate
the performance of staff and gave the results of a large specific. The use of peer assessment: peer
assessment more accurate than their managers, because there is a relationship between bonds
immediate staff. This strategy gives the evacuation of better performance from their managers.
Committees Rating: prefer many employees are evaluated by committees, because it seems that the
rating committees more trustworthy, fair and compelling. Management s assessment of staff:
managers evaluate employees are not traditionally known in the workplace, but this idea has spread
is between the organization recently. This strategy gives workers the right to evaluate the managers
where they can feel that there is equality in the organization. As a result, it may increase the
performance of employees.

The Internet Is Becoming A Threat For Civil Framework
IT Systems and many other networking technologies have controlled a large section of our lives.
A substantial amount of people rely on a form of these technologies in day to day life.
Communication, transport, leisure, workplace, health and many other areas are now very reliant
on these newer networking technologies. This has now become a threat to civil framework and
has shown us how vulnerable the systems in place have become. For example as the use of
emails has grown there has been an evolution in malware and viruses which attach to emails
without the receiver even noticing. In this modern day e commerce which relies on computer
systems for transactions to take place and has become a virtual marketplace and allows
businesses to have online stores which makes it accessible for the customer. Customers can now
buy services and goods without having to leave their homes. While many computer systems
collect audit data, most do not have any capability for automated analysis of that data [Anderson,
et al, 1995]. The Internet is becoming increasingly dangerous; not only for large companies, but
smaller networks are also being targeted by malicious activity [Overall statistics for 2014]. Many
of the technologies used within these systems are now being exploited by criminals trying to
access information and perform other criminal activities. The main reason for this is because most
of the infrastructure in place is controlled by IT systems and the security systems in place

Reasearch on the Brain Functions of Autistic Children
In the late 1990 s, researchers from the University of California, San Diego wanted to know if there
was connection between mirror neurons and autism.1 They hypothesized that since these neurons
play a role in a person s ability to feel empathy, they found it sensible to think it might be the cause
of autistic symptoms.1 Autismis a disorder found among children where areas of the brainfail to
work thus makes it difficult for individuals to communicate.4
A researcher, Giacomo Rizzolatti at the University of Parma Italy, conducted a study in the 1990 s
studying Macacas. His group studied the motor command neuron from the premotor cortex. The
neuron is part of the frontal lobe that is responsible for voluntary movements. Electrodes were
hooked up to the brain and the macacas had to perform goal oriented actions.1 When a macaca
reached for a peanut, the same exact neuron from another monkey observing them was fired also.
This action surprised Giacomo and his colleagues. They found out the neuron is also found in the
same regions as the human cortex1. Further research of the mirror neurons were shown to be
located in different parts of the brain such as the insular and cingulate cortices. They found out that
the neurons at the anterior cingulate cortex are fired when a person is in pain and the same goes
for the person who watches them1. It was concluded that mirror neurons are seen to be performing
similar functions that is found in autism meaning that if there was a

Analysis: Using the data from Table 1, calculations were performed to determine how much CO2
was expelled. This data is listed in Table 2. According to the data in Table 2, it is confirmed that
more CO2 was expelled after exercising. While exercising, more oxygen is needed in the body for
energy. Since more oxygenis inhaled, it makes sense that more CO2 is exhaled.
Discussion: The control flask was used to establish a baseline so that the other flasks could be

and the different parts within it. I hope to give you great examples and detailed explanations to

processes in different locations around the world as well. Substantive law is that part of law which

I myself do not believe that it fits into the adjudicatory process. I say that because Islamic law
recognizes no distinction between legal systems and other controls on a person s behavior.
They provide all answers to questions about appropriate behavior in any sphere of life. Islam s
basic form of law comes from the Qur an and Sunna, Ijma and Qiyas, and schools of law. With all
this if I had to choose a system, I would choose inquisitorial since Islamic law is slightly
considered similar to common law. Countries that follow this tradition today are Saudi Arabia and
Iran. Lastly there is the Eastern Asia legal tradition, which is a mixture of both depending on the
case. With all that I feel that this tradition is the most complex, since it has to deal with the entire
adjudicatory process instead of just a part. A few countries that follow this mixed tradition are Hong

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
Maya Angelou was a gifted woman with one of the greatest voices of African American literature.
Previously known as Marguerite Johnson, she was one of the most important women of our time.
She was best known for her autobiography I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. Not only was
Maya Angelou able to overcome all the racial discriminations and interferences that she endured
growing up, she was also able to prove to many people what a successful African Americanauthor
and activist she was. She was a woman who used her actions and words wisely to support or
oppose an incident pertaining to a good cause. Born on April 4th of 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri,
Marguerite Johnson s life was filled with many difficult obstacles. Her father Bailey Johnson Sr.
was a navy dietitian and a doorman while her mother, Vivian Johnson was a nurse and a car
dealer. Her brother, Bailey Johnson, Jr. nicknamed her Maya. When Maya was three and her
brother four, their father sent them to live in Stamps, Arkansas with their paternal grandmother,
Annie Henderson, due to their parents marriage ending. They were sent alone by a train; people
glued their eyes on them and stared as if they were an entertainment show. Maya s grandmother,
whom they called Momma , owned a general store where she sold the basic necessities. During the

  • 2. International Criminal Court Unfair Towards African... Is the International Criminal Court unfair towards African Nations vis Г vis Western Nations? On October 12, 2016, the parliament of Burundi, a country located in the Eastern part of Africa voted to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) with a vote of 94 to 2. Weeks earlier, Gambia and South Africa announced their intention to withdraw from the ICC, and this wave of action by these three African nations has paved the way for other African nations to reassess if they wanted to still be part of the ICC. Since its establishment in 1998, the ICC has tried criminals of war mainly from African members states. This treatment has raised a lot of concerns within African nations, and they are expressing themselves about the unfair treatments and bias towards them from the International Criminal Court by threatening to leave this longtime praised establishment.. Created on July 17, 1998 in Rome, Italy, after more than 120 nations voted in favor of the Rome Statute, the International Criminal Court is an independent court that tries individuals or groups for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, and could open investigations when referred to by the United Nations Security Council. In order to veto or approve of its policies or resolutions, nations need to be members, and as of 2016 there are 124 members in the ICC. Not to be confused with the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the ICC only deals with war related issues, whereas the ICJ s role (The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Malcom X MALCOLM X Learning to Read Malcolm Little, born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1925, was reborn Malcolm X in his twenties while imprisoned for burglary. (He considered Little a slave name and chose the X to signify his lost African tribal name.) His conversion to Islam under the Nation of Islam and his rigorous self education led him to a life ofpolitical activism marked by hatred, violence, and hope. For a time, as the foremost spokesman of the Nation of Islam, Malcolm preached a separatist philosophy with racist rhetoric; on breaking with the Nation of Islam and converting to orthodox Islam after a pilgrimage to Mecca, Malcolm again changed his name (to El Hajj Malik El Shabazz) and philosophy, moving closer to the integrationist goals... With every succeeding page, I also learned of people and places and events from history. Actually the dictionary is like a miniature encyclopedia. Finally the dictionary s A section had filled a whole tablet and I went on into the B s. That was the way I started copying what eventually became the entire dictionary. It went a lot faster after so much practice helped me to pick up handwriting speed. Between what I wrote in my tablet, and writing letters, during the rest of my time in prison I would guess I wrote a million words. I suppose it was inevitable that as my word base broadened, I could for the first time pick up a book and read and now begin to understand what the book was saying. Anyone who has read a great deal can imagine the new world that opened. Let me tell you something: from then until I left that prison, in every free moment I had, if I was not reading in the library I was reading on my bunk. You couldn t have gotten me out of books with a wedge. Between Mr. Muhammad s teachings, my correspondence, my visitors usually Ella and Reginald and my reading of books, months passed without my even thinking about being imprisoned. She started with working for the Pittsburgh Dispatch, where she wrote about the lives of working women and investigated articles of women factory workers. Later on Nellie worked on my Asylum ExposГ©, where she took an undercover assignment for which she agreed to feign insanity to investigate reports of brutality and neglect at the Women s Lunatic Asylum. Nellie s report about the experience was later published as Ten days in a Madhouse, which prompted the asylum to implement reforms. Then she took her trip around the world. • 5. Assessing the Impacts of Hurricane Katrina and the Macondo... Oil spills are usually associated with environmental disasters; because of this the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 and related policies have inadequate amount of tools that will help humans deal with these accidents. When the Macondo blow out happened, we had to assess the impact that it also had on human health, mental and physical because it had affected a large area. The Macondo spill unfortunately happened less than five years after Hurricane Katrina damaged Louisianaand Mississippi coast. Clearly, a lesson that was learnt from the oil spillwas that the nation wasn t prepared for widespread, poor effects on human health and mental well being. Most of the communities along the Gulf had resided there for the majority of their lives or at least 20 years; this oil spill had worried the residents about payments, money issues, and the stability of their communities, which in turn affected their health. From what happened during Hurricane Katrina and now the oil spill, speakers Sharon Gauthe and Gracie Scire are really trying to stress the importance of the need for additional community mental health services. The citizens are trying to cope with physical ailments and stress and even though the health agencies issued personal protective equipment guidelines for response workers and created a registry of these newly trained personnel, they missed the crucial window for screening their baseline physical health before the workers were directly exposed to oil products; Industry and ... • 6. Differences Between European Spanish And Latin American... There are numerous variations of Spanish, of course, and a native speaker is expected to understand all those variations, but for a new learner it can be confusing, since each Spanish speaker country has their own accent, dialects, how to people address each other, and the way they conjugate the verbs. The purpose of this essay is contrast and compare the differences between European Spanish and Latin America Spanish when it comes about pronunciation, vocabulary, phonological differences and so on. The most notable difference is Ustedes vs Nosotros. European Spanish has two plural forms for the English you when address two or more people, which is Vosotros and Ustedes. In Spain, both are used. Vosotros is the option for informal conversations, while ustedes is used in formal context. In contrast, in Latin America you will always use ustedes to refer to a group. It does not matter if you are talking to your friends, bosses, or your parents (Nagel). Subsequent the last point, we are going to discuss Usted versus Tu versus vos. In Latin America, usted is more common to hear, but, once people is getting more comfortable with each other, they may request you to use the tu form, which is reserved for family and friends. But in some countries, such as Paraguay, El Salvador, Argentina and Honduras they use vos instead of tu, which is equally informal. Same case in Spain, usted is reserved for very formal situations. Instead, tu you can use it with younger people or informal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Similarities Between Animal Farm And The Truman Show How can achieve the good life? How can we make make a utopia? These are some of the questions when a human gets enough power and control! Within both of the stories, Animal Farm (written by George Orwell) and The Truman Show (directed by Peter Weir). Both author and director explore these three themes . The good life, a utopia and power are some of the keys to living a full and grateful life. To have a utopia you must have a good life and to have a good life you must have power within your life. In the movie The Truman Show Peter Weirshows that power is to control another person s life in one way or another. Whereas in animal farm to have power is to control. The main point can be shown within christof who is the director of the show who controls where truman worked, where he lived and even who he marries. Christof has ultimate power over truman and whatever he does until Truman finds his own freedom within the set, this was shown in one of the end scenes when Christof makes the weather horrible so truman couldn t escape from the dome. This shows that Christof had the most power because he could control another person s life and what they did. Similarly in animal farm power is shown in control and that to have power you have to control over a group, this is shown at the start when farmer jones is in control of all of the animals on the farm and then when the pigs take over to controll all of the other animals. These were shown when the pigs had to have a farm vote to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Essay On Zimbardo And Milgram Experiment The two experiments were a tested at different time periods and for different purposes. For instance, the Milgram experiment was originally tested to study obedience to authority, in response to Adolf Eichmann trial, a Nazi war criminal, that stated he, was just stating orders under the Reich. The experiment proved to be that under authority rule, actions, even if morally wrong and unethical can be still taken forward with due to a strict authority presence. The two experiments were similar in which they attained two distinct experimental groups, except for the Milgram experiment, and no control groups. The test subjects were classified in the Milgram experiment as students, teachers, and experimenters. While in the Zimbardo experiment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on the results given in the Zimbardo experiment, Zimbardo (1975) contended that identity contrasts of the subjects were substantially less vital than the social circumstance. Zimbardo went considerably more further with his experiment than Milgram had by rejecting the significance of identity qualities for a large portion of one s behavior in regular day to day existence: He states, Individual behavior is largely under the control of social forces and environmental contingencies rather than personality traits, character, will power or other empirically invalidated constructs. Thus, we create an illusion of freedom by attributing more internal control to ourselves, to the individual, than it actually exists. Thus underestimating the power and pervasiveness of situational controls over behavior because: 1) they are often non obvious and subtle, 2) we can often avoid entering situations where we might be so controlled, and 3) we label as weak or deviant people in those situations who do behave differently from how we believe we would. (p. 115) A noteworthy contrast amongst Zimbardo s and Milgram s investigations is that, in the jail think about, just a single test control was performed being appointed to the part of detainee or protect. This is a noteworthy impediment since we can t know, as we did in the Milgram think about, which factors in the circumstance were most essential for the practices ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Laissez Faire Capitalism In The Gilded Age Before the Gilded Age, economic growth came to a halt because of the Depression of 1873. The depression led to the bankruptcy of many banks and railroads, and resulted in hundreds of thousands of people out of work. The Liberal Republican party also emerged as result of the depression. Liberal Republicans were strong advocates for laissez faire policies, where there is no government regulation in businesses or the economy. With this ideology, liberal republicans believed that it would help stimulate economic growth and create more jobs. While liberal republicans were unsuccessful in getting into office, they helped push the Democratic party (who were able to get control of the House in 1784) shift their agenda to supporting laissez faire capitalism. By 1879, The Depression of 1873 had ended and the second Industrial Revolution began. Laissez Faire capitalism became the dominating force of the Industrial Revolution that began during the Gilded Age. The idea that Laissez Faire capitalism could help bring prosperity to the common man was pushed by writer Horatio Alger, who published books that assured young readers that if they were honest, hardworking, and had a good character, they could leave poverty behind and succeed in the new competitive economy brought by the second industrial revolution. This idea was also reinforced through the success of industrialists like John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and Cornelius Vanderbilt, who came from humble backgrounds. Laissez Faire ... They voted for decisions that demanded equality for women at work, at school, and at church. There was only one decision at the convention that met with any resistance, and this was demanding the women a right to vote. But, after hesitation and bold reformers, the decision nearly passed. After 1848, women worked for change in many areas. They fought for additional legal rights in some states and won the battle. For instance, in New York, the city passed a laws allowing married women to keep their own property and wages once they married. Relationships can be created and destroyed because of addictions and recovery is a tremendous struggle. In Double Down. The authors and brothers, Fredrick and Stephen Barthelme, told of their addictionto gambling and the illusions of the casinos. Both stories speak of their addictions, either to an unhealthy relationship or gambling, but what it didn t tell was the toll it had on the relationships involved with these people. Relationships are at the expense of the addicted and are only healthy or repairable when compromise from the addiction and the addicted begins. This is what everybody calls pain; a physical thing that is very unpleasant. Everyone, of the billions or even trillions of people on earth go through it. A person is probably going through it right now and nobody except the people around that person know about it. Pain is common though no one wants to figure out the simplest questions. For example why do we have pain and other questions related to it. Though now people can finally get answers. It is important to understand what causes pain to know the reason behind it, the different varieties, and what a person experiences. Pain, everybody want to know what causes it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though not always are the reactions better for us, there are better responses than ones that can harm a person s body even more. For example, in the article A Path Out of Pain it tells others some reactions people go through, some reactions for people is they tense up and that person then holds that person s breath, freeze and/or ar frantic, or even make noises. It just all depends on the person. ( n.p.). This can tell people what kind of reactions that a person does and then learn, as well as try not to do it for it harms the body more than helps it. This is important for it then shows people that even a person s reaction will not always help the situation at hand. More evidence says, in A Path Out of Pain this Instead of reacting you could choose to respond. For example: instead of tensing up you could relax; instead of holding your breath you could breath gently; instead of changing your position constantly you could let yourself be still; and instead of making faces, holding, yourself or sighing, you could let the experience in and let pain be. ( n.p.). This demonstrates that people should do the things listed above so that anybody who is hurt does not harm the body part even more. This is significant because it can help people respond different than be angry. A person can feel calmer and at least a little relaxed for that person knows what to do. This tells people that how you react can hurt more, but some of the responses that were listed could help a person get through the pain that will come in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The picture captures one of the final moments of a victim from the World Trade Center, who chose to commit suicide rather than perish in the burning fires on the top floor. As the man plunges to his doom, he is positioned upside down with legs flailing in the air. In the background lies the Twin Towers, positioned precisely to split right in the middle of both the image and the man himself. Understandably, this scene drew much backlash by the public, as it revealed the private moments of a man on the worst day in modern American history. In the mid 1580s, it was clear that a direct military confrontation between England and Spain was unavoidable in the near future. Word reached London that the Spanish king, Philip II, had started to assemble together an enormous fleet that would sail to the Netherlands, and join forces with a waiting Spanish army led by the duke of Parma. After joining forces, this fleet would proceed to invade and probably conquer the now protestant England. The always conservative queen reluctantly had authorized sufficient funds to maintain a fleet of maneuverable, well armed fighting ships, to which other ships from the merchant fleet would be added. In July 1588, the Invincible Armada reached the English water and the queen s ships. In one of the most famous naval encounters of history, the queen s ships defeated the enemy fleet, which then in an attempt to return to Spain, was all but destroyed by terrible storms. At the time when the Spanish invasion was expected, Queen Elizabeth decided to review in person, a detachment of soldiers assembled at Tilbury. • 18. The Humanitarian Crisis in Chechnya The situation in Chechnya is out of hand, a senseless echo of Stalin in a day where the expression of such rank evil should not occur or be tolerated. An interview with a local Chechen refugee solidified my understanding of the situation. However, meeting a survivor face to face also made the situation seem more real and therefore much more painful. When asked to comment on the film Crying Sun, my subject took a deep breath. This is just like what happened in our village, she said. There were land mines everywhere. The paratroopers came a lot. Once we ran to the neighbor s house barefoot, just like the woman in the movie said. They looted from our homes too. My cousins died. Many Chechens have lived in their respective villages not just for generations, but for centuries. My interview subject revealed her knowledge that many of her ancestors from a long time ago were Jewish, and that some of the people trace their tribal lineage to the Biblical times. There is a sense of senselessness to the killing that transcends rational thought. The so called rebels have been painted as terrorists by the skillful propaganda machine; any rational analysis of the situation in Chechnya reveals the real truth. The beam placing operates in two ways depending on where beams are delivered. On one condition, that beams are delivered on the ground level, lifting trolley will pick them up directly by both ends. On the other condition, that beams are delivered at abutment, by two trucks or other carriers at each side, the front trolley will pick up the front end of beams, then the front end of beams will be released from carrier; the front trolley moves forward, simultaneously with another carrier and beams, until the rear end of beams are at the same horizontal position of the rear trolley. The rear trolley will pick up the rear end of beams then, and once again the beams will be released from carrier. After the trolley getting the beams at deck level, the latter will be placed onto the bearings. • 24. Visceral Response Hedda Gabler As I viewed Hedda Gabler, I had two visceral responses during two very important scenes. My first visceral response occurred when Hedda Gabler was being questioned by Commissioner Brack about the death of Ejlert LГёvborg. This scene made me feel very uncomfortable. As I watched the commissioner push and throw Hedda around, I started thinking about domestic violence. It was a scary thing to watch, and it must be terrifying to experience. When the commissioner spit his drink on Hedda, I felt physically sick. Prior to this, I really did not like Hedda, but as Hedda began to realize that she had no power to stop the commissioner, my heart softened toward her. At the end of the play, I experienced another visceral response when Hedda committed suicide in order free herself from the power of the commissioner. I watched this play just three weeks after a family member committed suicide. He was in extreme physical pain, and there was nothing that doctors could do for him. He took his own life in order to free himself from this physical pain. Watching Hedda take her own life really made me sad for my own loss. I really wanted to leave the play, but since I really needed to view the final moments, I sat glued to my seat, hoping something else would happen that would make me feel better. When that did not occur, I was actually mad. This really was a difficult play for me to watch. Throughout the play, I noticed that I felt a connection with Berte. Berte, the maid in this story, sat in the corner for the entire play and was not really significant to the storyline. Her job was to inform Hedda Gabler and Jorgen Tesman who is entering the apartment. In a recent production of A Time to Kill at my community college, I played the part of Norma Gallo, the court reporter. During the scenes in which I was present, I sat typing on a typewriter and, like Berte, I was not very significant to the storyline. For the duration of the production, Berte is more or less a people watcher. I, too, am somewhat of a people watcher; when I am in a group of strangers, I think about who they might be and make up stories about their lives. I enjoy watching from a distance, but not being a part of what is happening. Another reason, that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Peter goes on to explain the false teachers can be recognized by their prideful behavior, their love of money, and disrespect to God. (Life Application Study Bible 1507,1918) Peter uses instances from the past, such as Sodom and Gomorrah and the great flood to stress the judgment and punishment that will come to unbelievers who reject God. The apostle also warns that there will be those that will mock God and dismiss the second coming of Christ. He advises the believers to have confidence in the promises, prophecies, and principles given through God s inspired word. The Physical Pattern Of The Urban Tissue Of Shahjahanabad The river was an important part of the city, access to which was provided through ghats (wide flights of steps along the banks) such as Nigambodh ghat and Raj ghat. The Yamuna was an artery along which river borne traffic travelled. It was a bathing area, particularly for Hindus who considered its waters sacred. It was also a recreational space where fairs, swimming competitions, kite flying, took place. Shahjahanabad, like any other living city is constantly changing and evolving. The physical pattern of the urban tissue of Shahjahanabad was completed by the 19th century. In the 1850s map available, the urban morphology depicted is the same as can be seen today. However, events in history have left their mark on this planned city, changing it over time. This is especially true for the Red Fort, Chandni chowk, etc. When the British first moved into Delhi, they established the area in north Shahjahanabad as the centre of administrative power, adding several new colonial buildings, both religious and institutional in nature or simply adding to or coopting older buildings. This area has perhaps seen the bulk of this transformation. The earliest church in Delhi, the St. James Church, built by Colonel James Skinner was in this area and has altered very little since its construction in 1836. A substantial amount of people rely on a form of these technologies in day to day life. Communication, transport, leisure, workplace, health and many other areas are now very reliant on these newer networking technologies. This has now become a threat to civil framework and has shown us how vulnerable the systems in place have become. For example as the use of emails has grown there has been an evolution in malware and viruses which attach to emails without the receiver even noticing. In this modern day e commerce which relies on computer systems for transactions to take place and has become a virtual marketplace and allows businesses to have online stores which makes it accessible for the customer. Customers can now buy services and goods without having to leave their homes. While many computer systems collect audit data, most do not have any capability for automated analysis of that data [Anderson, et al, 1995]. The Internet is becoming increasingly dangerous; not only for large companies, but smaller networks are also being targeted by malicious activity [Overall statistics for 2014]. Many of the technologies used within these systems are now being exploited by criminals trying to access information and perform other criminal activities. The main reason for this is because most of the infrastructure in place is controlled by IT systems and the security systems in place ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reasearch on the Brain Functions of Autistic Children In the late 1990 s, researchers from the University of California, San Diego wanted to know if there was connection between mirror neurons and autism.1 They hypothesized that since these neurons play a role in a person s ability to feel empathy, they found it sensible to think it might be the cause of autistic symptoms.1 Autismis a disorder found among children where areas of the brainfail to work thus makes it difficult for individuals to communicate.4 A researcher, Giacomo Rizzolatti at the University of Parma Italy, conducted a study in the 1990 s studying Macacas. His group studied the motor command neuron from the premotor cortex. The neuron is part of the frontal lobe that is responsible for voluntary movements. Electrodes were hooked up to the brain and the macacas had to perform goal oriented actions.1 When a macaca reached for a peanut, the same exact neuron from another monkey observing them was fired also. This action surprised Giacomo and his colleagues. They found out the neuron is also found in the same regions as the human cortex1. Further research of the mirror neurons were shown to be located in different parts of the brain such as the insular and cingulate cortices. They found out that the neurons at the anterior cingulate cortex are fired when a person is in pain and the same goes for the person who watches them1. It was concluded that mirror neurons are seen to be performing similar functions that is found in autism meaning that if there was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My vision was beginning to get blurry, white patches began to show up on the bottom of my feet. The blurriness was getting so bad I stopped my run and began to waddle back and forth on the trail. My legs give out, my knees collapse under me and I fall onto the soft piles of snow on either side of the trail. The long beautiful trees dripping with snow looked like they came out of a fairy tale, the beauty was almost unrealistic. My eyes drift close and my body shuts down from the cold. Just before my eyes are completely shut I see the creature running across the trail its very hairy and has a long... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There was a small light coming from inside the hut but I dare not go anywhere near that just incase it was the creature that was chasing me from home. I begin to waddle away from were I lay however as soon as I try to make an attempt to get away I hear the creak of a door swinging open and a loading of a gun. The bullet locking into the chamber was as quiet as a pin drop yet sounded like a jackhammer slamming into the ground at full force. As I began to break into a sprint I hear the loud bang of the gun releasing the bullet into the air. Before my foot hits the ground I am thrown to the ground writhing in pain. I look down at my ankle and what I see makes me want to throw up. Before I can examine my wound further I black out. • 39. Co2 Expelled Lab Report Analysis: Using the data from Table 1, calculations were performed to determine how much CO2 was expelled. This data is listed in Table 2. According to the data in Table 2, it is confirmed that more CO2 was expelled after exercising. While exercising, more oxygen is needed in the body for energy. Since more oxygenis inhaled, it makes sense that more CO2 is exhaled. Discussion: The control flask was used to establish a baseline so that the other flasks could be compared to it. A control is needed so experimenters can have something to compare their results to. When breathing into Flask 1, CO2 was released and added to the solution in the flask. Adding CO2 into the flask made the solution become colorless. When the experimenter blew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Substantive Vs Adjudicatory System Colin Martin Comparative CRJS systems Essay topic #1 Today I will be talking about substantive and procedural law, as well as the adjudicatory system and the different parts within it. I hope to give you great examples and detailed explanations to open your eyes on these topics. I also hope to give you a better basic understanding of these processes in different locations around the world as well. Substantive law is that part of law which creates, defines, and regulates rights. It provides citizens with information about what behavior is required or prohibited and explains what may happen to people who misbehave. Procedural law has two models, the crime control model and the due process model. Both models are techniques to understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I myself do not believe that it fits into the adjudicatory process. I say that because Islamic law recognizes no distinction between legal systems and other controls on a person s behavior. They provide all answers to questions about appropriate behavior in any sphere of life. Islam s basic form of law comes from the Qur an and Sunna, Ijma and Qiyas, and schools of law. With all this if I had to choose a system, I would choose inquisitorial since Islamic law is slightly considered similar to common law. Countries that follow this tradition today are Saudi Arabia and Iran. Lastly there is the Eastern Asia legal tradition, which is a mixture of both depending on the case. With all that I feel that this tradition is the most complex, since it has to deal with the entire adjudicatory process instead of just a part. A few countries that follow this mixed tradition are Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, Mongolia, and North and South ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
