Teaching aids in science
Audio visual aids assist a teacher in providing
suitable learning experiences to the learner.
Audio visual aids are classified into
projected aids ,non projected aids and activity
aids.
Importance of teaching aids
• Teaching aids motivate to students so that
they can learn better.
• Through teaching aids teacher can clarified
the subject matter more easily.
• Increase the vocabulary
• Saves money and time.
• Classroom live and active
Projected aids
• OHP - Overhead Projector
• overhead projector is a machine that has a
light inside it and can be used to make the
writing or pictures on a sheet of plastic
appear on a screen or wall.
• Transparencies can be prepared on different
topics.
Overhead Projector
Slide projector
• slide projector is an instrument equipped
with a powerful light source and carrier for
holding slides of suitable size.
• The teacher can prepare slides and can be
used during the class time.
Film strip projector
Film strip is a series of sequenced frames on a
piece of film covering large portion of a
lesson.
One strip may contain 10 to 50 picture frames.
These pictures may constitute a connected
series of sequences or incident.
Some film strips are accompanied by audio
recorded separately. Such a film strip is called
a sound film strip.

LCD projector
It is the most advanced and sophisticated
projecting aid. It is used to present a topic in
the classroom or in front of a large audience
The LCD projector has a connection jack's to
interface with the computer and other video
equipments.
