Why not CLIL?
SWOT ANALYSIS about CLIL
STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES
• Using different methodologies to
motivate our students and to
improve the language (different
groups)
• Teaching arts and crafts in CLIL
is very useful for student because
they learn English at the same
time they can manipulate and
create.
• I’m the only teacher who teaches
Arts and Crafts in Clil in 1rst and
2nd grades so I don’t need to
coordinate with other teachers.
• We have to plan carefully each
activity to use the required
vocabulary for each unit.
• Some children have lots of
problems with English subject
and they aren’t so motivated with
activities that imply English.
• We have to provide lots of images
and examples to our students to
assure they can understand the
most important concepts.
OPPORTUNITIES THREATS
• Using new technologies to
motivate them.
• Students will improve their
speaking skills with their foreign
language.
• When they speak with the
appropriate vocabulary we can
congratulate them with a stamp
(1rst and 2nd
grades). Then all
students will try to speak in
English.
• If we want our students motivated
we should prepare enjoyable
activities.
• Students should use the new and
specific vocabulary in the
classroom when they speak with
their partners.
• All the school should apply Clil
methodology at least in one
subject.
