thenfemalesasIbelieve the filmwasoriginally
aimedformales.The data alsoshowedme that
bothgendersenjoywatchingthe film, andthat
Disneycateredforeveryone,theydidthisby
addingReyas a main characterto encourage more
femalestowatchthe film.Thistechnique has
clearlyworkedandyou can tell thatby lookingat
my diagram.
My resultshave showedthatunder18 have
primlywatchstar wars; theyconsistedof;

I thinkthisisbiasedbecause Imainlyadvertised
it to myfriendswhoare all my age (16-17 years).
I couldโ€™ve made myresultsmore accurate by
gettingmore people overthe age of 18 to under
my survey.
Thisshowsthat the filmattracts an audience
froma wide varietyof social classes.Andthose
whose income liesbetweenโ€˜ยฃ15,000-ยฃ74,999โ€™
of income are more likelytogoto the cinema
and watchthe show or buythe DVD and watch
it inthe comfortof theirownhome,as they
may notbe able toaffordcinematicketsas
theirincome isnโ€™tthe heistandtheyโ€™dhave to
prioritise theirmoneyandwhattheyspendit
on.
There wasmixedemotionsaboutthe force awakens.Id
save abouthalf amountof people were impressedbythe
filmandsaidtheylovedthe โ€˜graphicsโ€™andโ€˜howwell ray
was broughtintothe moviesasa maincharacterโ€™ and
that itwas reallyentertaining.Whereasthe alternative
half thoughtitwasnโ€™tas good as the original trilogy
because itlackedoriginal charactersandstar wars initial
features,some people evensaiditwasboringandthat
there wasnothinggoodaboutit.
Majorityof people hadseenthe originalsbefore
watchingthe force awakens32 outof 54. As30%
of people hadneverseenthe filmbefore
indicatingthattheymayhave onlywatchedthe
force awakens because everyone else hadand
theywere wantingtorelate tothemor theyhad
to.
Two thirdsof the surveytakerswatchedthe trailerbefore watchingthe film.Thiscouldmeanthatthe trailerenhanced
theirvisionof whatthe filmwasgoing to be about,drawingtheminand makingthemwantto findoutmore.The trailer
couldhave done thisby the special effectsandvisualsusedwithinencouragingthe youngerviewerstowatchthe movie.
Andencouragingthe olderaudience towatchthe movie couldhave beenbecausethe oldoriginal characters(Hanand
Leia) made an appearance alongwiththe muchlovedmillenniumfalcon.
PrincessLeia,ChewbaccaandReywere the three favourite characterswithinthe filmthatappealsmostto
the audience.PrincessLeiaandReyespeciallyappealingtothe youngfemale audiencesastheyare main
female leadcharacters,thatcouldbe actingas a role model tomanyof the girlsgivingthemconfidence in
themselvesandgivingthemhope thattheycanachieve theirdreams.
There wasan evenamountof people whotookthe
surveywhose familyandfriendshadall watchedit
and onlysome of theirfamilyhadwatchedthe movie.
Thiscouldsuggestthat people liketowatchit
togetherandencourage eachotherto watch itso
theycan talkwitheach otheraboutit.
There wasan evenamountof
people hearingaboutthe filmfrom
televisionadsandviafriendsand
family.ThisshowsthatTV
advertisementisthe most
importanttype of marketingtogain
publicinterestaboutthe upcoming
film.Alongwiththispeople telling
theirfriendsandfamilyaboutit
perhapsafterseeingthe TV advert
spreadsthe message aboutthe
release evenmore.
For thisquestionIuseda quantitative
questionratherthanqualitativequestions
meaningthe informationisharderto
evaluate,asitโ€™snota simple one word
answeror number,people share their
feelingsandopinionsaboutthe topicin
depth.
The average rate of the filmwas52% so most
people thoughtitwasan average film,not
thinkingthere wasanythingtospecial about
it,complimentingbacktothe question4 and
supportingitsanswers.

  • 1. The majorityof people thattookmy surveywas femaleswith63% and male of 34%. I thinkthe resultscame back like thisasI mainlyhave femininefriends,butif Iwasto publishmysurvey on a widersocial networkserviceIfeel likeI wouldโ€™ve gotamore evencontributiontomydata makingita fairertestor I wouldgetmore males thenfemalesasIbelieve the filmwasoriginally aimedformales.The data alsoshowedme that bothgendersenjoywatchingthe film, andthat Disneycateredforeveryone,theydidthisby addingReyas a main characterto encourage more femalestowatchthe film.Thistechnique has clearlyworkedandyou can tell thatby lookingat my diagram. My resultshave showedthatunder18 have primlywatchstar wars; theyconsistedof; ๏‚ท Under 18โ€™s 28 people. ๏‚ท 19-20 3 people ๏‚ท 30-50 2 people ๏‚ท 50+ 3 people I thinkthisisbiasedbecause Imainlyadvertised it to myfriendswhoare all my age (16-17 years). I couldโ€™ve made myresultsmore accurate by gettingmore people overthe age of 18 to under my survey. Thisshowsthat the filmattracts an audience froma wide varietyof social classes.Andthose whose income liesbetweenโ€˜ยฃ15,000-ยฃ74,999โ€™ of income are more likelytogoto the cinema and watchthe show or buythe DVD and watch it inthe comfortof theirownhome,as they may notbe able toaffordcinematicketsas theirincome isnโ€™tthe heistandtheyโ€™dhave to prioritise theirmoneyandwhattheyspendit on.

There wasmixedemotionsaboutthe force awakens.Id save abouthalf amountof people were impressedbythe filmandsaidtheylovedthe โ€˜graphicsโ€™andโ€˜howwell ray was broughtintothe moviesasa maincharacterโ€™ and that itwas reallyentertaining.Whereasthe alternative half thoughtitwasnโ€™tas good as the original trilogy because itlackedoriginal charactersandstar wars initial features,some people evensaiditwasboringandthat there wasnothinggoodaboutit. Majorityof people hadseenthe originalsbefore watchingthe force awakens32 outof 54. As30% of people hadneverseenthe filmbefore indicatingthattheymayhave onlywatchedthe force awakens because everyone else hadand theywere wantingtorelate tothemor theyhad to.

Two thirdsof the surveytakerswatchedthe trailerbefore watchingthe film.Thiscouldmeanthatthe trailerenhanced theirvisionof whatthe filmwasgoing to be about,drawingtheminand makingthemwantto findoutmore.The trailer couldhave done thisby the special effectsandvisualsusedwithinencouragingthe youngerviewerstowatchthe movie. Andencouragingthe olderaudience towatchthe movie couldhave beenbecausethe oldoriginal characters(Hanand Leia) made an appearance alongwiththe muchlovedmillenniumfalcon. PrincessLeia,ChewbaccaandReywere the three favourite characterswithinthe filmthatappealsmostto the audience.PrincessLeiaandReyespeciallyappealingtothe youngfemale audiencesastheyare main female leadcharacters,thatcouldbe actingas a role model tomanyof the girlsgivingthemconfidence in themselvesandgivingthemhope thattheycanachieve theirdreams.
  • 4. There wasan evenamountof people whotookthe surveywhose familyandfriendshadall watchedit and onlysome of theirfamilyhadwatchedthe movie. Thiscouldsuggestthat people liketowatchit togetherandencourage eachotherto watch itso theycan talkwitheach otheraboutit. There wasan evenamountof people hearingaboutthe filmfrom televisionadsandviafriendsand family.ThisshowsthatTV advertisementisthe most importanttype of marketingtogain publicinterestaboutthe upcoming film.Alongwiththispeople telling theirfriendsandfamilyaboutit perhapsafterseeingthe TV advert spreadsthe message aboutthe release evenmore. For thisquestionIuseda quantitative questionratherthanqualitativequestions meaningthe informationisharderto evaluate,asitโ€™snota simple one word answeror number,people share their feelingsandopinionsaboutthe topicin depth. The average rate of the filmwas52% so most people thoughtitwasan average film,not thinkingthere wasanythingtospecial about it,complimentingbacktothe question4 and supportingitsanswers.
