Stephanie thinks its important for everyone to vote, she believes in equality and females having the same rights as men. She does not identify
herself as a feminist but has strong beliefs that we should all have 5the same opportunities regardless of gender.
Stephanie's favourite film is the Hunger games because it has a strong female lead.
Stephanie's favourite genre of film is thriller and independent. She likes films that get her thinking and make her consider different aspects of
life.

Ryan thinks it is important for all people to vote
Ryan enjoys watching films and does not have a favourite genre. He goes to the cinema frequently in his
spare time, mostly with his wife.
Because of them is a film that Ryan would watch with his wife. He respects that women should have the
same rights as men, and believes this is an important lesson for all women and girls growing up.

Sarah is a mother of two girls, she believes in equality and identifies herself as a feminist. As a women she has experienced sexism and
teachers her children that women and men should have the same opportunities .
She enjoys watching film at the cinema when she gets any spare time however mostly waits for films to come out on DVD to watch at home.
She thinks that everyone should vote especially women and acknowledges how privileged women are now to have the vote. She teachers her
daughters of this importance and wants them to recognise this as they grow up.

From these results it is clear that roughly
half of our audience would identify
themselves as a feminist, whilst a few say
they aren’t feminist but think equality is
important.

them’ film opening?
‘I liked the switch between past and present’

‘The expression of two different times by the BW and colour images, the music made the suspense,
what is happening next! The two female characters were clearly juggling difficult lives.’

From this it is clear that the majority of our
audience clearly understood the genre of our
production ‘Because of them’.

This question helped us determine what kind of
secondary audience we would have. 35% of people
said that they would watch ‘Because of them’ with
their mother, only 5% would go to see ‘Because of
them’ with their father or son.
10% would go with their wife. 3/10 people said they
would go with a friend. This information suggests to
us that the majority of our secondary audience would
likely also be female with a few males.

them. 35% said it was the setting that
stood out to them and 35% said that the
music stood out to them the most.
16. 70% of our audience believe that
everyone should vote. 15% said that it
is especially important for women to
vote. This suggest that our audience
will be people who believe in the
importance of our right to vote and the
suffragette movement.
