1. Planning
• At Jaypee the scheduling and planning is done on the basis of
trigger amount (amount demand from the customer based on
construction status slab wise).
• The amount to be raised each month will be decided in the
review meeting and monthly schedule is prepared according to
that.
• Status is updated on weekly basis to keep track of the work
done to meet the demand schedule to be collected from the
customer.
1.1 Facility Management Group(FMG)
The FMG department at the Jaypee ensures the
delivery or handover of the flats by
checking all the facilities in the tower.
• Checking of all the activities installed in flat
or in tower
• Ensuring the quality of the work done as per
specification
• Deals with outside authority for building
completion certificate.
• Flat can be handover by getting the clearance
from the FMG group.
• Check whether it meet the requirements of its
occupants.
• Final decisions are being made by FMG
regarding the completion of the tower
• We were asked to make the scheduled for the finishing
activities for one of project KALYPSO COURT in the MSP
(Microsoft Project).
• The finishing activities of every tower are breakdown into
different parts and according to that work is carried out.
• The WBS of such activities are first created on MSP and then
the activities are entered based on the work to be carried out.
• The WBS various activities created in msp are shown in figure
below.
• The duration is decided and predecessor are assigned to each activities
based on the time and resources available.
• The total no. of duration achieved after assigning the no. of days is 818
days for the finishing work of one tower (G+25) having 3 units at each
floor.
2. Site Execution
The planning done for the structural work of a building is basically
based on the slab cycle, here in this project the average slab cycle
period was 20-25 days.
Column Reinforcement:
– Extension of Bars
– Providing Stirrups
– Binding of stirrups to the vertical bars.
• All column reinforcement shall be
embedded minimum Ld from the floor
level.
• Lap length shall be calculated on the
basis of diameters of smaller bar.
• Fe 500 should be used conforming to
IS-1786
• The stirrups dia vary from 8mm to
12mm conforming to specification
mentioned in the drawing.
• Also the spacing between the stirrups
should also be as per the drawing.
• In lap portion the spacing of stirrups
shall be 150mm C/C.
Shuttering/Formwork of Column & slab
• For placing the shuttering properly as per
the drawing to avoid any deviations either
T point are used or marking are on the
starter in (X,Y) direction.
• The shuttering used in this project was
from pranav.
• Stripping time of forms of slabs (spanning
upto 4.5mt.)
– For OPC Cement : 5days
– For PPC or OPC + Fly Ash : 7days
• Beams soffits (Props left under)(spanning
upto 6.0mt.)
– For OPC Cement : 7days
– For PPC or OPC + Fly Ash : 9days
• Stripping time of forms for columns:
– For OPC Cement : 24 Hours
– For PPC or OPC + Fly Ash : 36 Hours
Beam & Slab Reinforcement
• All reinforcement used in this work shall conform to IS:1786 with
Fe415 or 500 and shall be in the form of deformed bars.
• The slab reinforcement shall be provided both in X and Y direction.
• The main should be placed along the shorter span and the
distribution bar should be placed along the longer span.
Concreting of Column & Slab
• All structural concrete shall be design mix concrete (controlled
concrete) of minimum grade M20 for column.
• The column has a concrete cover of 40 mm on all the sides.
• The concrete cover for slab is 20mm.
• The concrete cover for beam is 25mm.
• The concreting should be done upto the bottom of the beam of
the next floor. And the height can be calculated by measuring
from the sofit of slab to the bottom of the beam.
• Checking of bars for Beam, Slab and Column from the
drawings provided from the site office.
• Preparing the BBS (Bar Bending Schedule) for the same.
• To calculate the no. of bars = (L/spacing)+1 for the slabs.
3. Procurement
• The management based procurement strategy is used in Jaypee for
the procurement of materials with the help of tool developed by
SAP.
4. Safety
• Jaypee Group believes it to be the responsibility of all.
• Tool box talk -2 times/week
• A safety supervisor to be always present at site ,to monitor all the
safety checklists
• PPE were worn by workers
• Safety signboards were installed at entrance
• Helmets are compulsory
•No helmet while working at heights
•No safety belts
•SOPs were not defined to the workers
•Not proper maintenance of equipments.
4.1Case
• This accident took place at garden isles project in Jaypee Wish Town.
• Health and Safety department at Jaypee prepared an investigating report
which only contained name of person, cause of fatality and
compensation to be paid with an attached copy of the F.I.R.
• Reason : As per safety guidelines, while removing the safety net another net
should be installed at a place just below where the previous net existed and
another net 6 floors below that for extra protection but none of this safety
measures were taken, resulting in this fatality.
• After this incident, the construction activity was stopped for 2days,
resulting in huge loss in the productivity.
• We also pointed out that, only on this site alone there have been 6
fatalities due to unavailability of PPE’s and improper supervision from
the In-Charge
• Shortfall in safety :
– Only few workers at site wore safety shoes other all workers worked
in slippers and were allowed to do so.
– Some laborers were not wearing safety belt
– There were many duct openings were no rail or covering object was
kept.
– In basement area workers worked continuously for hours without any
PPE’s and were exposed to dust particles which are potential
occupational health hazards.
• Reason:
– The mindset of the workers towards safety was awful. They didn’t
imply to basic requirements of working at heights like wearing
helmet, safety boots and wearing a safety harness while working on
the edges.
– The reason given by them for not wearing PPE’s was that, it hindered
their productivity and movement
– The amount of these PPE’s per worker ratio was also very less.

document prepared which was between Jaypee Group and SJ
Fabricators.
• Comparative study between CPWD conditions and contract
condition was done for : Agreement between Jaypee Group
and ARCOP
• Contract Assigment - By Daksh and Abhimanyu.xlsx
6. Quality
• sieve analysis of coarse aggregate
(is 2386-1983)
• flakiness index of coarse aggregate
(is 2386-part 1)
• specific gravity of aggregates by
pycnometer (is 2386- part 3)
• Impact and Crushing strength of
Aggregates. (IS 2386- Part 4)
• Silt Content of Sand. (IS 2386- Part
2)
• Note: Cement was not tested as
Jaypee Cement was used in
construction.
Thesis Work
• Thesis Topic: Implementation of
ERP in Small & Medium scale
Construction companies in india.
• ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is
used in this organization as a tool for
Procurement of materials, budgeting,
Project schedule, Billing etc.
• The ERP software in this organization
was developed by SAP as per
requirement asked by the employees.
• The different modules used in ERP are:
– Material Module
– Project Schedule Module
– Cost & Budget Module
– CRF Module
– Accounts Module
The difficulties occurred in successful implementation of ERP
by the employees in the organization are as follows:
– Not proper day to day update.

  • 6.
  • 7.
  • 8.
  • 9. 1.1 Facility Management Group(FMG) The FMG department at the Jaypee ensures the delivery or handover of the flats by checking all the facilities in the tower. • Checking of all the activities installed in flat or in tower • Ensuring the quality of the work done as per specification • Deals with outside authority for building completion certificate. • Flat can be handover by getting the clearance from the FMG group. • Check whether it meet the requirements of its occupants. • Final decisions are being made by FMG regarding the completion of the tower
  • 10. • We were asked to make the scheduled for the finishing activities for one of project KALYPSO COURT in the MSP (Microsoft Project). • The finishing activities of every tower are breakdown into different parts and according to that work is carried out. • The WBS of such activities are first created on MSP and then the activities are entered based on the work to be carried out. • The WBS various activities created in msp are shown in figure below.
  • 11.
  • 12.
  • 13. • The duration is decided and predecessor are assigned to each activities based on the time and resources available. • The total no. of duration achieved after assigning the no. of days is 818 days for the finishing work of one tower (G+25) having 3 units at each floor.
  • 14. 2. Site Execution The planning done for the structural work of a building is basically based on the slab cycle, here in this project the average slab cycle period was 20-25 days.
  • 15. Column Reinforcement: – Extension of Bars – Providing Stirrups – Binding of stirrups to the vertical bars. • All column reinforcement shall be embedded minimum Ld from the floor level. • Lap length shall be calculated on the basis of diameters of smaller bar. • Fe 500 should be used conforming to IS-1786 • The stirrups dia vary from 8mm to 12mm conforming to specification mentioned in the drawing. • Also the spacing between the stirrups should also be as per the drawing. • In lap portion the spacing of stirrups shall be 150mm C/C.
  • 16. Shuttering/Formwork of Column & slab • For placing the shuttering properly as per the drawing to avoid any deviations either T point are used or marking are on the starter in (X,Y) direction. • The shuttering used in this project was from pranav. • Stripping time of forms of slabs (spanning upto 4.5mt.) – For OPC Cement : 5days – For PPC or OPC + Fly Ash : 7days • Beams soffits (Props left under)(spanning upto 6.0mt.) – For OPC Cement : 7days – For PPC or OPC + Fly Ash : 9days • Stripping time of forms for columns: – For OPC Cement : 24 Hours – For PPC or OPC + Fly Ash : 36 Hours
  • 17. Beam & Slab Reinforcement • All reinforcement used in this work shall conform to IS:1786 with Fe415 or 500 and shall be in the form of deformed bars. • The slab reinforcement shall be provided both in X and Y direction. • The main should be placed along the shorter span and the distribution bar should be placed along the longer span.
  • 18. Concreting of Column & Slab • All structural concrete shall be design mix concrete (controlled concrete) of minimum grade M20 for column. • The column has a concrete cover of 40 mm on all the sides. • The concrete cover for slab is 20mm. • The concrete cover for beam is 25mm. • The concreting should be done upto the bottom of the beam of the next floor. And the height can be calculated by measuring from the sofit of slab to the bottom of the beam.
  • 19. • Checking of bars for Beam, Slab and Column from the drawings provided from the site office. • Preparing the BBS (Bar Bending Schedule) for the same. • To calculate the no. of bars = (L/spacing)+1 for the slabs.
  • 20. 3. Procurement • The management based procurement strategy is used in Jaypee for the procurement of materials with the help of tool developed by SAP.
  • 21.
  • 22.
  • 23. 4. Safety • Jaypee Group believes it to be the responsibility of all. • Tool box talk -2 times/week • A safety supervisor to be always present at site ,to monitor all the safety checklists • PPE were worn by workers • Safety signboards were installed at entrance • Helmets are compulsory
  • 24. •No helmet while working at heights •No safety belts •SOPs were not defined to the workers •Not proper maintenance of equipments.
  • 25. 4.1Case • This accident took place at garden isles project in Jaypee Wish Town. • Health and Safety department at Jaypee prepared an investigating report which only contained name of person, cause of fatality and compensation to be paid with an attached copy of the F.I.R.
  • 26. • Reason : As per safety guidelines, while removing the safety net another net should be installed at a place just below where the previous net existed and another net 6 floors below that for extra protection but none of this safety measures were taken, resulting in this fatality. • After this incident, the construction activity was stopped for 2days, resulting in huge loss in the productivity. • We also pointed out that, only on this site alone there have been 6 fatalities due to unavailability of PPE’s and improper supervision from the In-Charge
  • 27.
  • 28. • Shortfall in safety : – Only few workers at site wore safety shoes other all workers worked in slippers and were allowed to do so. – Some laborers were not wearing safety belt – There were many duct openings were no rail or covering object was kept. – In basement area workers worked continuously for hours without any PPE’s and were exposed to dust particles which are potential occupational health hazards. • Reason: – The mindset of the workers towards safety was awful. They didn’t imply to basic requirements of working at heights like wearing helmet, safety boots and wearing a safety harness while working on the edges. – The reason given by them for not wearing PPE’s was that, it hindered their productivity and movement – The amount of these PPE’s per worker ratio was also very less.
