OBJECTIVE
To obtain a managerial position in Facilities Design and Maintenance that will allow
me to utilize my manufacturing and facilities management experience to help create
and support a world class manufacturing environment. I am a hard working leader with
a proven track record of providing innovative solutions using sound engineering
principals.
EXPERIENCE
Kennametal Inc. (2000 – Present) Facilities Engineering/Maintenance Manager
I led a team of 8 engineers and up to 30 maintenance personnel reporting directly to the
plant manager. I was responsible for overseeing capital budgets of up to $1.5 million
and combined operational budgets of $800,000 per year. The scope of my role includes
facility improvement recommendations and implementation for the 160,000 square foot
facility in Rogers and a 60,000 square foot facility in Bentonville, maintenance of all
production equipment and engineering support for process improvement. I also
oversee the contracted security personnel as well as the janitorial crew and landscape
contractor.
Accomplishments:
• Specified and secured funding for installation of 400 ton centrifugal chiller at
the Rogers facility. The project included cooling tower installation, chilled
water piping modifications and re-insulation. The result was increased
reliability and a more consistent comfort level in the plant. I also consulted
with personnel on the installation of another 400 ton chiller at the Bentonville
facility.
• I led several lean initiative energy reduction projects resulting in lower
electrical costs.
 Replaced reciprocal air compressor with screw compressor.
 Replaced over 500 tons of heating and air conditioning equipment with
higher SEER rated equipment.
 Replaced plant and office HID lighting with T8 fluorescent fixtures.
 Installed capacitor banks at two locations to improve power factor and
eliminate power factor penalty imposed by electric company.
• Consulted with controls and HVAC contractors to install a Building
Management System leading to better visibility of equipment performance and
reduced troubleshooting time for service calls saving time and money while
increasing occupancy comfort.

• Worked with contractor on replacing approximately 40,000 square feet of roof
with single ply TPO. Maintained five different types of roof construction and
specified type of penetration when required.
• Specified and secured funding for purchase and installation of a 2000 KVA
switchgear in order to meet increased electrical load in plant.
• Led initiative for converting 5 switchgear from bolted pressure switches to
remotely operated breakers reducing arc flash hazards making it much safer for
an electrician to work on the power distribution system in the plant. This
initiative led to a company wide arc flash assessment and correction project.
• As part of a plant rearrangement team, I was responsible for redistributing
2000 amps of 480 volt power to meet the shifted power demand in the plant.
• Conducted monthly safe safety meetings for office and maintenance personnel.
• Worked with fire sprinkler contractors for all modifications, maintenance and
inspections to meet all city and fire marshal requirements.
• Teamed with insurance provider to mitigate all issues found during risk
management audits.
Kennametal Inc. (1995 – 2000) Facility Engineer
Reporting to the Facility Engineering Manager, I was responsible for managing various
facility and process improvement projects. I coordinated contractors and production
teams for equipment installation and commissioning.
Accomplishments:
• Designed and installed hot water system for plow driers and installed cooling
water system for mills in powder processing.
• Re-drew entire plant using existing construction prints and field measurement.
The project included locations for utilities, equipment locations, HVAC
equipment, grounds, fencing and parking This drawing is still used today as the
standard for all equipment layout and rearrangement projects.
• Led teams for installation of ten sinter HIP furnaces over a period of 15 years.
Was responsible for power distribution, process gas distribution and cooling
water systems for each furnace.
• Member of team of engineers that designed and installed PVD coating
operation. Included construction of room per established specifications,
HVAC installation, material handling, cleaning line and support systems and
utilities.
Danaher Tool Group (1991 – 1995) Manufacturing Engineer
As part of a four person engineering team, I contributed to all aspects of the finishing
operations including heat treat, polish and plating as required for the production of
Craftsman hand wrenches.
Accomplishments:
• Redesigned roll polish machines resulting in higher productivity and reduced
belt costs.
• Modified overhead conveyor system for improved product flow.
• Worked with product engineering on new wrench polishing technology. I had
direct input on various aspects of machine design and tooling design.

Trane Company (1986-1991) Industrial Engineer
I began my engineering career working in the Industrial Engineering department at the
Trane Company in Ft. Smith, AR. As an industrial engineer, my responsibilities included
assembly line design, process improvements and labor estimation.
Accomplishments:
• Developed JIT cell for Impack furnace. Responsible for all pre-pilot and pilot
production runs. Worked with product engineering on unit design, B.O.M.
level structures and product labor cost. Worked with tooling vendors on
equipment design to ensure proper function before final buy-off. Provided
pictorial methods for all stations in work cell.
• Designed and installed assembly lines to produce Odyssey split system air
handlers: 5-10 ton and 15-20 ton units. Responsible for all pre-pilot and pilot
runs, equipment and facilities and personnel training. Implemented material
flow system for 15-20 air handler line.
• Implemented JIT training center at Westark Community College. Gave in-
class instruction to job applicants on techniques for material retrieval and usage
to assure a smooth flowing manufacturing process.
• Introduced new products as required by marketing and engineering. Achieved
an on-time schedule of 95% for production ready for all new product
introductions.
