3. So I went looking for clues why?
Here are a few obvious ones:
• Website poor
• No data collection
• No banner ad promotions
• No hover ad promotions
• No headline with the promise of a benefit
• Most likely a small email database and half of
that would be bad since it’s hosted by Course
Trends
4.
5. Social Media?
• Their Facebook icon was hidden at the very
bottom of the website
• Only 167 Facebook fans
• Only 2 dozen posts in four years
• No opt in promotions
• So a total Fail!
11. That’s all folks…..
We need look no further!
• The fundamentals of great marketing are to building a large database of
prospective players and then connect with them
• They fail on data collection
• They failed on sales copy
• And although this is just speculation they failed on email marketing.
• There are 2 reasons I know this to be true.
• 1. they are not opting people in so their list must be small.
• 2 They are using Course Trends and they have horrible list practices not to
mention serious ethical issues
12. One Can Also Assume That
• If they are not doing 101 basic stuff
• Then the certainly did not train there staff how to sell because
almost no one does that even though it’s the simplest and most
cost effective way to raise revenue!
• Their marketing budget was not 5% of their gross revenue
• They did not employ the One Strategy in fact it’s quite obvious from
their website and facebook page that they had no marketing
strategy at all!
• Strategy demands a plan, coordination, orchestration and
integration not random acts of marketing!
13. And I Bet They Broke Their Backs to Try
and Keep it Open
• But….
• If you focus all your energy on all the wrong things
hard work doesn't’ matter you still go broke!
• Success in daily fee golf starts with your website, e-
marketing and Facebook page if you don’t get that
right, the rest doesn’t matter…..
• If you are doing it like this you are doing it right
