The Prevalence Of Pressure Ulcers
The prevalence of pressure ulcers in elderly patients is of an epidemic proportion (Bansal, Scott,
Stewart, Cockerell, 2005). The annual cost of treating pressure ulcers in the United States (U.S.) is
estimated at more than $20 billion and is increasing (Jones, 2013). Pressure ulcers occur when an
injury is caused to the skin and underlying tissue at the pressure points resulting in transient or
permanent damage to the underlying tissue (Margolis, 1995). The prevalence is seen in patients who
are immobile because of chronic health conditions or lying on hard surfaces for prolonged periods
(Pham et al., 2011). A pressure ulcer can be disruptive and disabling to frail elderly patients (Landi,
Onder, Russo Bernabei, 2007). A pressure ulcer can also result in complications, which can lead to
mortality (Nigel Chow, 2002; Gary, Berlowitz Paul, 2001). Development of pressure ulcers is no
longer limited to acute or sub acute facilities alone. As the population is aging, more elderly are
receiving heath care in their homes (Ablaza Fisher, 1998). As a result, all stages of pressure ulcers are
also seen in the homes (Park Lee Caffrey, 2009). However, there are limited studies that show the
magnitude of the problem when compared to acute, sub acute, and nursing homes (Asimus Li, 2011).
This project will conduct a retrospective chart review at a community based primary care provider to
determine the prevalence of pressure ulcers among elderly individuals who are

Online Instructions as Thinking Advisors: A Model for Online Learner Adaptation
The author of this article, Benedetti (2015) presents information regarding online learning and
teaching. He presents on how online classrooms and learning styles of students can be addressed for
teachers to assist in online success. One may think that online learning is geared toward one style of
learning when in actuality the teacher can adapt and address multiple learning styles that can meet the
various learning needs of student s participation in online learning. Additionally, ideas are presented
for teachers to assess learning styles in the online classroom environment and structure it using
content mapping.

This study presents the question of learning styles between students in the major of science and
humanities and whether or not gender had any significance on learning styles when looking at
classroom participation. The authors provide background information to the reader that there are a
variety of learning style theories based cognitive styles (Baneshi, et. al., 2014, p. 104). The study
focuses on learning styles based on social interaction done by Grasha and Richmann. Their goal was
to assess differences in learning styles between the student s college major (humanities or science) and
gender.

Resident Advisor Application Response Responses
Resident Advisor Application Responses
1. Why do you feel you would be a good fit for your preferred population?
Through my experiences at SAU thus far, I feel that I would be able to best serve the upperclassmen
population as an RA. I have been a member of the St. Ambrose Student Government Association for
the past two years, serving as Freshmen Class President and Sophomore Class President. My time on
SGA has provided me with many opportunities to serve the entire student body, Freshmen through
Seniors. In meetings, I have become confident voicing my perspectives and concerns with all
members and the executive board. Being on the planning committee for several SGA activities, such

In terms of free time, I try to be a positive influence within my friend group; setting up movie nights,
working out in the gym, going shopping, or going out to eat. I find this to be very important when
given any time of leadership responsibility.
Second, I have also learned the importance of the forgive and forget mentality. Having practice every
day, it is easy to get on each others nerves. However, it is important to realize that every day is a new
day. Before coming to a conclusion, it is crucial to listen to both sides and also take emotions into
consideration.
Lastly, I feel that it is very important to plan floor activities that provide students on the floor with
opportunities to get to know each other. Through these activities and new found relationships, I feel
that it will help the residents to be more respectful, social, and cordial with one another. Bonding
opportunities create more of a family feel within the resident s hall, making the dorm experience one
that everyone will enjoy.
3. From your perspective, what do you think are the three most important functions of a
Resident Advisor?
First and foremost, I think that it is most important for a Resident Advisor to be open and able to keep
the peace within the resident s hall. Whether it be dealing with roommate difficulties, confronting
inappropriate behavior, or dealing with

Similarities Between Hamlet And The Count Of Monte Christo
The Effects of Revenge The pursuit of vengeance regardless of all consequences and collateral
damage is a fundamental aspect of the human condition. In both literature and reality great acts of
violence are the products of retribution. Subsequently, this theme of avenging a wrong is central to
both Hamlet and The Count of Monte Christo. Revenge is unpredictable and often causes unforeseen
pain, making generally it undesirable. Attempting to enact vengeance upon a single person may often
cause unintentional harm to innocent people. In Hamlet the entire royal family dies because of the
plan Laertes and Claudius make (Shakespeare V.ii.310 360) . Additionally Polonius s death is caused
by Hamlet seeking revenge. These events show several ignorant ... Show more content on

The pursuit of vengeance can become a cycle of reciprocated hate. This principle was expressed in
Why Revenge Is Bad and Good, an article about a man nearly destroying his life by doing violent,
destructive things, as a result of his daughters death in the Oklahoma City bombing, which was an
additional revenge act (Robinson) . This article shows a modern example of a revenge cycle chat
almost consumed Bud Welch. The roles of the avenger and the recipient of revenge often switch do to
one party feeling shortchanged by the other. In an interview, Professor Rosenbaum can be heard
saying, The Saying an eye for an eye means simply that, the punishment should be equal to the crime.
and old societies took only what was equal to the crime to insure that there was not any follow up
reparations from either side. ( The Nonexistent ) Rosenbaum s words show that revenge should be
equal to the crime in order to prevent more conflict. However, The Complicated Psychology of
Revenge states all people see what is appropriate retaliation differently thereby making this all
important equality nearly impossible. These variables and human emotion cause the desire for revenge

Female Sex Offenders
Most people tend to overlook women sex offenders compared to men who are sex offenders. Women
are just as likely to be a sex offender just as men are. Typically, women sex offenders tend to prey on
their students if they happen to be a school teacher. This gives them the access to hundreds of under
aged children every school year that they can prey on sometimes, be in an intimate relationship with
them. When someone hears something regarding a sex offender, we typically automatically assume it
is a male who committed the act and the crime. Males tend not to report their victimization, which
may affect statistics. Some men even feel societal pressure to be proud of early sexual activity,
regardless of whether it was unwanted, according to The United States ... Show more content on

About ninety five percent of people who are unwilling being forced into sex are usually young
women. Many people tend to stereotype women being caring, harmless, and trusting compared to
men. While the rates of sexual acts being forced by women are lower compared to men, they do still
commit the illegal activity upon others. Many female sex offenders tend to be younger aged compared
to male sex offenders. The average age of female sex offenders is about thirty six years old and tend to
be friends, family, or acquaintances of the victim. Female sex offenders tend to persuade their victims
easier than male sex offenders since females are usually motherly and nurturing, making them seem
more trustworthy. It tends to be more difficult to distinguish a female sex offender compared to female
sex offenders. Female sex offenders are usually under reported, unrecognizable and considered more
ethically acceptable than male abuse, according to an article on

Hispanic Culture s Influence On Health Patterns And...
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 94,145 people reside in Yuma, approximately 46% of Yuma
County s population (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Two major populations in Yuma are Hispanic or
Latino (62.0%), and Caucasian (32.6%) (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Males outnumber females,
51.4% to 48.6% (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). There are approximately 69,915 households with an
average household size of 2.77 persons/household (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Seventy seven percent
of households consist of married families and 17% consist of single parent households (Western
Arizona Council of Governments, 2012). Even though, per capita income is approximately $18,887,
over half (69.3%) of Yuma s residents own their homes, with a median value of $113,500 (U.S.
Census Bureau, 2015).
Cultural, traditional, and religious values have an influence on health patterns and behaviors exhibited
by the community. Hispanic culture is dominant due to the close proximity to the U.S. Mexico border.
Fifty two percent of households use a language other than English at home (U.S. Census Bureau,
2015). Therefore, an understanding of Hispanic culture is necessary for health care workers to
effectively care for patients in this community.

services, but also behavioral health services, as a shortage of providers in these areas has been
identified (AZDHS, 2014). As a somewhat geographically isolated area, access

How Did Columbus Change America
Christopher Columbus, an experienced seafarer, left landmark achievements in various destinations he
set foot in. He made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain and he mistakenly thought there
was a quicker route to Asia. It turned out he landed on two unknown continents (Jane, pg.6). In the
event of making journeys, he accidentally came across to natives where he taught the spirit of
exploration injecting a great deal in America s global economy. The journey started at the beginning of
different acts like colonization.
Landing of Columbus in America shaped up the living standards of the natives from the former states
to improved measures powered by the spirit of exploration. Columbus changed the world by
introducing the land hungry Europeans to America who reshaped Mexico, Canada, and many other
Caribbean nations through exploration and use of natural resources (Mckay, pg.471). It improved the
hard work of America citizens since the world of trade was opened. ... Show more content on

He brought Columbian Exchange which involves the exchange of plants and animals between Europe
and Americas. Pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, potatoes, and corn became part of the European diet from
America. (McKay, pg. 463). In the same way, Americans got the opportunity to get back cattle, sheep,
and hogs from Europe. Also, the introduction of new taste of crops including coffee mainly from
Africa, sugar cane from Asian parts, and wheat from greater part of Europe changed the landscape of
New World. Sadly, a disease also emerges, which forced both societies to deal with such as

The Iliad, A Homeric Epic That Depicted The Age Of Heroes
The Iliad, a Homeric epic that depicted the age of heroes in Archaic Greece. An age of giant, god like,
men, and a time of true heroism. The themes of the Iliad encompass a realm consisting of the
principles of justice, vengeance, and honour in Greek society. A monumental theme that Homer
brought through the Iliad was the idea of Greek Shame culture, which Involved public praise and
blame, to honor and shame one before others in one s society. The assemblies, called by the Achaean
commanders, where the Achaeans would discuss and delegate battle strategy, acted as a perfect place
for one to gain/denounce ones honour. These assemblies represented the political make up of the
Achaean coalition force, where commanders could effectively voice their concerns and opinions on
matters that face the council, all while fostering discussion that unified the Achaean force.
Agamemnon was head of the Achaean army, with his royal scepter, but he still needed the confidence
of his commanders in order to rule effectively. He established this confidence in the assemblies
throughout the Iliad. The assemblies acted as forums of discussion and delegation, where those who
were worthy, could speak and voice themselves.
To understand the essence of the assembly, it is easier to view them as an advisory council. Where the
commanders of the Achaean force advised Agamemnon on appropriate courses of action. Agamemnon
s power is not absolute, he needs to maintain the confidence of his commanders and the

The Grass By Cather Summary
When Cather discusses grass she gets very detailed. Everywhere, as far as the eye could reach, there
was nothing but rough, shaggy, red, grass most of it as tall as I. North of the house, inside the
ploughed fire breaks , grew a thick set strip of box elder trees, low and bushy, their leaves already
turning yellow. This hedge was nearly a quarter of a mile long, but I had to look very hard to see it at
all. The little trees were insignificant against the grass. It seemed as if the grass were about to run over
them, and over the plum patch behind the sod chicken house. As I looked about me I felt that the grass
was the country, as the water is the sea. The red of the grass made all the great prairie the color of
wine stains, or of certain

The Slaves And Effects Of Slavery By Frederick Douglass
1. Slavery is an institution that repetitively separates family members and close friends from each
other, without any regard to those people. This aids in disrupting the heteronormative nuclear family
relationship greatly. Frederick Douglass said that My mother and I were separated when I was but an
infant... and that It is a common custom...to part children from their mothers at a very early age. (pg.
1). This showing that most children that were born into slavery would grow up having no relationship
at all with their own mothers. Also, a lot of slaves were born into slavery by the fact that children of
slave women shall in all cases follow the condition of their mothers, (pg. 2) and the slaveholder now
holds the title of father and master. With being torn from their mother at a young age and having your
own father be your master, completely takes away the chance of a child that is born into slavery from
having the normal nuclear family relationship.
2. The institution of slavery is something that can corrupt all parties involved or that around it. There
was no exception, men, women, children, and the slaves themselves could be subject to be corrupted
due to these horrific circumstances. Obviously the slave owners were the most corrupted with thinking
that this institution was morally right, but their children were taught at a young age that this treatment
to black people was fine. Douglass says that it was a very common saying even among the young
white boys

Behavior Disorders And Attention Deficit Hyperactivity...
Behavior disorder is defined as Any of various forms of behavior that are considered inappropriate by
members of the social group to which an individual belongs. (The American Heritage Stedman s
Medical Dictionary, 2015) Due to its broad definition, methods of identification, diagnosis, and
treatments are varied and controversial. After my son was diagnosed with Sensory Processing
Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in November of 2012, I recognized a stigma
within the community surrounding behavior disorders that made it difficult to find the appropriate
support for my son and my family. This paper will discuss the causes of behavior disorders, methods
for proper identification, and problems that can arise in the home, school, and community of a child
with a behavior disorder. Behavior disorders vary in symptoms and name, and can be divided into
several classifications, including anxiety disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, emotional disorders,
dissociative disorders, and pervasive developmental disorders. In addition to Sensory Processing
Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Autism fall under the
behavior umbrella. Like many other mental illnesses, direct causes of these disorders are hard to
pinpoint. Although the exact cause of most mental illnesses is not known, it is becoming clear through
research that many of these conditions are caused by a combination of biological, psychological and

Describe A Circumstance, Obstacle Or Conflict In My Life
Prompt: TEXAS A M UNIVERSITY Describe a circumstance, obstacle or conflict in your life, and
the skills and resources you used to resolve it. Did it change you? If so, how? His Name was Rob
Though I have faced many obstacles, or at least what I consider to be obstacles, there is one specific
instance that comes to mind when I reflect upon this prompt. It was not so much an obstacle as a guy,
and his name was Rob. I know what you are thinking. Here is another teenage girl about to blather on
about her boy problems. If you knew me, you would know right off the bat that this is not the case,
and if you are willing...give me a chance. I will relay to you a personal explanation for the quizzical
statement above. Then, and only then, can you draw your own conclusions. In the summer of my
sophomore year, one of my mom s childhood friends came to visit us. For the sake of anonymity, she
shall henceforth be referred to as Jane Doe. Jane was unhappy with her marriage, and after several
years of unhappiness decided to leave her husband. Her husband, or ex husband shall I say, was
named Rob and is the same man as aforementioned. Nothing was so terrible in their relationship that,
in my opinion, it could not be fixed. However, it never has been nor ever will be my place to judge
them or their actions. Months passed and Jane became a closer member of our family. She finally
(over a period of several months) came to the decision that she would stay with us on the large plot of
land our family shares. We were overjoyed at this news, and above all else we were happy that she
was happy. Then one day a letter arrived for Jane. It was from Rob, her now ex husband. It came so
swiftly and without warning that I do not feel it is unjust to compare it to a falling star, yet unlike a
falling star its arrival was not anticipated with wishes and excitement. The letter, to the best of my
memory, said something along the lines of this, I have cancer. It seems I couldn t live with me either.
Although the card was set up to portray such utterly heart wrenching news comically, I am not
ashamed to admit that just by thinking back to this time, tears pool in my eyes. In a manner of a few
weeks, Jane was packed to head back to Rob.

Political Science Is An Article Written By Hans Noel
Political science is known to be one of the most ignored sciences there are. Over the years, there has
not been a demand for everyone to pay attention to politics because people always have their own
opinion anyways. Ten Things Political Scientists Know that You Don t was an article written by Hans
Noel. His main objective to writing this was to inform readers of the reasons why politics is something
that is important to understand. Many journalists and bloggers became more aware of politics and
want to know more about what political scientists actually know. This article also wants to inform
many people that political science is something that you can study over a period of time, which is the
real reason to pay attention to elections. Hans Noel came up with 10 different things that political
scientists know but American citizens do not.

It s The Fundamentals, Stupid, was the most interesting because it points out the obvious things that
happen when politicians and their team try to come up with different campaigns, slogans and other
stuff that will catch citizens off guard. I think that this is most important part in a campaign because
this is where citizens get a first look of who you are, and decide if they will like you or not. Since

City Of God Sociology
The city of God tells the story of teenager s crime in the slums of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, in different
time stages from 1960s to 1980s. The director shows an area full of violence s, sex, crimes, from
Rocket s perspective. Severe polarization of wealth, urban crime and youth gang are revealed in urban

issues from the movie. Those are the importance of education, and the influence of the environments.
Urban slum and physical environment shaped a sharp contrast between the rich and poor. Social
abnormalities are reflected in this film, which are caused by the rapid development of Brazil s
economy. The slums in the city, the edge zones in the city, are the abominable products of the process
in rapid acceleration of urbanization. The people can be separated into two groups, which are the high
education group of citizens, and another group is the citizen with no knowledge. This issue is the most

Organic Farming Produces Organic Food
Eat it if you can Pronounce It The word Organic can be defined in multiple ways but what the word
basically means that the product is derived from living matter. Organic farming produces organic food.
The goal is to encourage soil and water conservation, reduce pollution, and constrain conventional
methods to fertilize and control weeds. According to the U.S Food and Drug Administration The term
organic is not defined by law or regulations FDA enforces. Foods that are organic does not necessarily
mean that they are healthy. There are organically refined unhealthy foods such as wholesome branded
cane sugar and Applegate branded pork sausages products that are labeled as organic but is obviously
not the healthiest choice. Labeling a food product as organic does not make consumption completely
healthy for infants. Drug Administration Organic produce derives from farming involving growth
without using any type of genetically modified organisms, synthetic fertilizers, sewage, and pesticides.
When meat products are organically refined the animals the meat comes from do not receive any
antibiotics or hormones that manipulate growth increase. The department of the United States
government that is responsible for programming anything related to food, agriculture and nutrition
(USDA) defines organic as food produced by farmers who emphasize the use of renewable resources
and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality for future generations.

The Fallout After World War 1 And The Great Depression
The fallout after the World War 1 and the Great Depression saw the emergence of a literary
preoccupation with the idea of fragmentation, and a cubist application to literature as a means of
representing the 20th Century modern reality. Authors, poets, artists etc saw; cubism, expressionism
and fragmentation as the best vehicles to depict the incomplete, broken lives of their subjects. With
both modern and post modern literature making a conscious break away from previous realism, 20thC
literature employed and explored subjectivism, whereby the author turned from the typical external
reality to the inner consciousness of a character or subject, to reflect a motif/ theme as a whole.
Modernist literature did so by exploring fragmentation in terms of narrative, how a character was
constructed, the formation of passages and chapters, and how events unfolded. This typically
surmounted to the creation of a sense of a chaotic universe, metaphysically unfounded, laced with the
subconscious fears of characters and notions of alienation.
This was successfully created by reconsidering and challenging the established conventions of
perspective . Illustrated through relativity , artists combined visual consideration and memory into a
concentrated still which they felt best documented the age in an abstract form, but which was wholly
all the more realistic. This form was not only retained for art but stretched into prominent literature;
several authors best deployed

Virginia Satir believed that every family displayed a type of balance system in their lives (Goldenberg
Goldenberg, 2013). We here at Hope and Joy will help our therapist to be able to bring balance into
the family lives that they will work in. The family unit is very important and must be taken serious.
The students will learn that crisis is a journey of transformation. We want our students to be great
therapist and to be able to make life better for someone else.
Hope and Joy University Program Philosophy Hope and Joy University has based our school s
theoretical orientation around the basis of the human validation process, Satir s eight aspects of self.
We model our program and train our students to accept that at the core of every person consist of eight
separate but interacting elements (Goldenberg Goldenberg, 2013). The elements are the physical,
intellectual, emotional, sensual, interactional, contextual, nutritional, and spiritual. Our university s
goal is to nourish all these elements as a part of strengthening our students as the best family therapist.
Our model will educate you on the role of the family and various communication styles that are
reflective of the human validation process. Our model is that the communication style of the family is
reflective of the level of worth if the members in the family will learn to be honest and genuine with
one another. Understanding that as a

The Theories Of The Theory Of Evolution
Eighty seven percent of American scientists believe that a series of random chemical and biological
events produced mankind. However, the philosophical theory of evolution has no solid evidence,
whereas creation can be proven. Science is supposed to be based on observation, right? The best
theories satisfy the test of experimentation. No one can test if evolution happened. Non one can prove
that evolution actually happened. But what evidence can we place against evolution? In 1859, Charles
Darwin published On the Origin of Species, introducing the theory of evolution. One hundred and
fifty six years later, scientists still accept this senseless philosophy. House Majority Leader Tom
DeLay states, Our school systems teach the children that they are nothing but glorified apes who are
evolutionized out of some primordial soup (Snyder). Schools worldwide have presented exactly this to
the young, impressionable minds of your future doctors, engineers, scientists, and presidents. They
assure us that if we give a small amount of mud enough time it can, by itself, bring about the art of da
Vinci, the plays of Shakespeare, the music of Mozart, and the brilliant mind of Einstein. I would like
you to take just a moment and think about this: For the smallest free living thing to duplicate itself

Sewing Is An Art That I Have It
Sewing is an art that I have yet to master. As a Fashion Merchandising major, it is better to be safe
than sorry. Meaning, the more crafting skills you possess, the better. Missing out on career
opportunities due to lack of skills is not acceptable for me. I aim to gain vast amounts of knowledge of
the creation process of fashion through this project. When people first started to wear clothing, about
60,000 years ago, they did not sew at all. They wrapped themselves in leather and furs to cover up.
When people first began living in Central Asia, where the temperatures usually were lower, people
wanted stronger clothing. They began to use sharp pointed sticks or stone tools called awls
(pronounced OLLS) to poke holes in their clothes so they could run the cords through the clothes
instead of just around them. They used the awls to poke the end of the cord through the holes, too.
Both Neanderthals and modern people used awls this way (K.E. CARR). In the 20th century, sewing
machines became more affordable to the working class. Therefore, the demand for sewing patterns
increased. Textile industries in Western countries have declined as textile industries compete for
cheaper labor in other parts of the globe. According to the U.S. Department of Labor employment of
sewers and tailors is expected to experience little or no change, growing 1 perfect from 2010 to 2020 .
Textile workers who apply tasks with sewing machines, or make projects by hand, are still a vital

Symbols In The Scarlet Letter
Scarlet Letter Symbolic Theme Essay The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne was written amidst
the 1800 s. Hawthorne was a famous American author during that time frame. He is a relative to a
judge from the Salem Witch Trials, which was his Great Great Grandfather John Hathorne. Hathorne
was the only judge who did not express atonement for his crimes, which led people to dislike all the
Hathorne s. This sparked Nathaniel Hawthorne s interest in the Puritan times, which resulted in the
Scarlet Letter. Hawthorne delineates Puritan standards religiously and culturally in an outstanding
way. He was also an Anti Transcendentalist which means that he believed that all humans were evil. In
his novel, the Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne uses the symbols of the scarlet letter, Reverend
Dimmesdale, and burrs to add onto the overall theme of guilt. First off, Hawthorne uses the symbol of
the scarlet letter to contribute to the theme of Guilt. The scarlet letter is forced upon the bosom of
Hester, who is the protagonist of this novel. Hester had a child after her husband was known to be
missing. She was accused of Adultery, and the scarlet colored letter was put on her as a token of
shame to cast a shadow on her eternally. Hawthorne explains, In a moment however, wisely judging
that one token of her shame would poorly serve to hide another (Hawthorne 50). This quote shows
that the scarlet letter is a profound symbol of guilt, it could not have been hidden with

Robert Reich Why The Rich Are Getting Richer
The short article Why the rich are getting richer and the Poor, Poorer by Robert Reich. An author who
has written numerous books on economics, Reich who is also a professor of public policy at the
University of California at Berkley and has taught previosuly at Harvard. In this specific article Reich
is looking at the problems within US economy, and the realization to what is really happening and the
differences between the different levels in the social classes here in the US. In order to portray the
apparent hidden truth to the matter, he refers to past issues and looks how or where there may be
differences. Ultimately Reich is looking to highlight these issues in where it seems there is perhaps a
large gap within the economic food chain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author moves through the paper moving to the next point, this being less based around the
problems with technological advances but more to the fact, that a lot of the jobs within the US are now
being lost to those citizens of the country due to the immigration numbers largely increasing, this may
not seem to be a deemed direct problem to the gap between the poorer class and wealthier individuals.
However Reich says the early 1980s they stopped hiring routine producers in Shreveport and began
hiring cheaper routine producers in Singapore (Reich 405). Looking at these words from the author it
clearly shows that he sees an issue with this, with the foreign workers willing to work for less means
that Americans are losing these jobs, Again in this situation the rich are only winning, as they are
getting the same labor services but for cheaper, meaning both them individuals out of work aren t
earning and those who may be in employment are also struggling due to the wage which they are

The Planned Parenthood Debate
The U.S. Senate blocked a bill to defund Planned Parenthood and channel federal dollars to other
health care providers and community health centers that do not perform abortions on Monday.
The bill calling for defunding of Planned Parenthood was introduced by Freshman Senator Joni Ernst,
R Iowa, who ran an anti abortion campaign last year.
The American taxpayer should not be asked to fund an organization like Planned Parenthood that has
shown a sheer disdain for human dignity and complete disregard for women and their babies, she said
on Monday in a floor speech.
The vote on the bill was 53 46, 7 votes short of the 60 votes required to proceed and for debate to open
on the bill. The votes fell mostly along party lines.
Planned Parenthood provides health care services besides abortion like cervical cancer screenings,
contraception, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and birth control counseling to approximately
2.7 million women a year at over 700 affiliated health centers across the country. It receives more than
$500 million a year in Medicaid reimbursements and $60 million in grants for family planning
services. However, U.S. law prohibits the use of federal funds to perform abortions. Donated fetal
tissue also cannot be sold for profit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

US Military Conflicts and SIGINT Essay example
Over the course of last 100 years, the United States has been involved in over ten military conflicts.
With each and every conflict SIGINT collection and analysis has grown and matured. Of all the
SIGINT platforms no platform has had a more far reaching impact on the battle field then Prophet
Spiral version 1 Collection system. From the Prophet Spiral 1 to the newly fielded Prophet Enhanced,
the prophet system has allowed commanders real time access to valuable SIGINT intelligence and

Although these five key mission elements have stayed the same for all subsequent versions of the
Prophet has had many expanded capabilities.
Most Prophet System consist of two components. The components are control vehicle and usually 2 to
three ground sensors vehicle depending on the unit and echelon it s supporting. Prophet Control will

The Prophet Ground sensors directly support the maneuver brigade commanders and can support as
low as battalion level commanders. Although the sensors have a man packable system (PRD 13), I
will only discuss the sensor because the PRD 13 would warrant an essay by itself and is often used
independent of the sensor. The Sensor performs the collection, direction finding, and electronic attack
associated with the profit system. The sensor and control for Spiral v1 is house in a Humvee. These

The Spread Of A Sexually Transmitted Infections
In the world today almost everyone knows what a sexually transmitted infection is. People know that
these are infections caused by risky behavior and can stay with someone for the rest of their life.
Although people know what a sexually transmitted infection is they may not know the proper way to
prevent such infections or they may be unware of what their community offers to help prevent
unwanted pregnancy and infections. I ventured to my local grocery store, Standale Meijer, to see what
variety of options were available for men and women to prevent unwanted sexually transmitted
infections. I was greeted by a plethora of options. Most of the products were geared towards men,
such as condoms. There were about fifteen different types of condoms across seven different brands.
Trojan was a more prominent brand that was offered at this location. There were about ten different
Trojan condom types. Among them were ultra ribbed, fire and ice, bareskin, ultra thin and her pleasure
ecstasy. Birth control options offered at this location was not a huge selection. I found four different
types, all of which were for women. The options provided are Plan B, Today Sponge, Options
Conceptrol, and Vaginal Contraceptive Film. All are over the counter but you need to go to a
pharmacist to acquire Plan B. Fortunately, I was the only one on the isle so I did not feel like anyone
was watching me or feel awkward for staring at all these different condoms and contraceptive items.

A Report On The Disease
Introduction The disease discussed in this article is eumycetoma, a chronic granulomatous
subcutaneous infectious disease that is endemic in the mycetoma belt of 30 degrees North to 15
degrees South of the equator (Hellemond et al., 2013). Sudan has the highest country wide prevalence
of eumycetoma, with 2% of the population being infected in the endemic villages in the Gezira area
(Ahmed et al., 2004). Although mycetoma can be caused by various bacteria and fungi agents, the
majority of mycetoma cases in Sudan, which is around 70%, are caused by the fungus Madurella
mycetomatis (eumycetoma) (Hellemond et al., 2013). Nonetheless, while most people living in the
endemic areas have been exposed to the fungi, only a few actually develop ... Show more content on

Schistosomiasis can even convert an already established Th1 response to a Th 2 response.
Furthermore, in eumycetoma endemic countries schistosomiasis is often a chronic disease that lasts
the duration of a person s life, and this could lead to a persistent Th2 type immune response
(Hellemond et al., 2013).Thus, if Schistosomiasis predisposes the development of eumycetoma,
efforts to eradicate Schistosoma in a population could also lower the number of eumycetoma cases. If
this is the case, then intervention strategies could be developed to target both Schistosoma and
eumycetoma in a population. Hypothesis The primary association examined in this study is the
relationship between a Th2 type immune response and the susceptibility to eumycetoma. Hellemond
et al. (2013) have previously shown that eumycetoma patients increased concentrations of IL 10
circulating in their bodies. Thus, it is hypothesized that an infection of schistosomiasis, which induces
a Th2 type response that is accompanied by increased levels of IL 10, might increase the susceptibility
of a patient to eumycetoma. However, toxoplasmosis, which induces a Th1 type immune response,
should not be associated with increased susceptibility to eumycetoma. Methods and Materials
Hellemond et al. (2013) collected 84 serum samples from the endemic areas of Sudan between 2001
and 2008. Of the 84 samples collected, there were 53 from

TRANSLATING PERSONALITY TRAITS INTO PROFESSIONAL CAREER Defining a
Personality clearly and observing its various traits can be beneficial in deciding a professional career.
However personality should not be the only element considered when selecting a career path. The
individual should have a thorough view of his/her interests, principles, capabilities and skills along
with personality type. These all things when measured collectively, serve as a good source of indicator
for career selection. The Myers Brigg Type Indicator (MBTI) is a well known approach used by many
career guidance professionals, in guiding people regarding their career selection. The MBTI is based
on Carl Jung s psychological theory according to which each individual can be classified into types on
their fondness. According to Jung s theory there are four pairs of contrary preference that indicate
personality type. There are people with energizing ability which are categorized as Extroversion
versus Introversion, second category individuals who recognize information either through Sensing
versus INtution. Third category focuses on decision making ability either through Thinking versus
Feeling and last is living life by Judging or by Perceiving. The letters which is indicated in bold above

Judith And Maidservant
In Artemisia Gentileschi s Judith and Maidservant with the Head of Holofernes Judith is depicted with
her maidservant after the head of Assyrian general Holofernes has been chopped off. The Assyrian
Army was to beseech Judith s town Bethulia. Judith is a jewish widow, who was invited to have

off, and save her people. This is the second image in a series of three Gentileschi produces, here she
has succeeded in her mission, and is attempting to get away.
In this work I have conflicting opinions about what is the focal point. The focal point is the area of the
work where the eyes are drawn, or where the eye tends to focus. I see two main focal points one being

  • 2. The Prevalence Of Pressure Ulcers The prevalence of pressure ulcers in elderly patients is of an epidemic proportion (Bansal, Scott, Stewart, Cockerell, 2005). The annual cost of treating pressure ulcers in the United States (U.S.) is estimated at more than $20 billion and is increasing (Jones, 2013). Pressure ulcers occur when an injury is caused to the skin and underlying tissue at the pressure points resulting in transient or permanent damage to the underlying tissue (Margolis, 1995). The prevalence is seen in patients who are immobile because of chronic health conditions or lying on hard surfaces for prolonged periods (Pham et al., 2011). A pressure ulcer can be disruptive and disabling to frail elderly patients (Landi, Onder, Russo Bernabei, 2007). A pressure ulcer can also result in complications, which can lead to mortality (Nigel Chow, 2002; Gary, Berlowitz Paul, 2001). Development of pressure ulcers is no longer limited to acute or sub acute facilities alone. As the population is aging, more elderly are receiving heath care in their homes (Ablaza Fisher, 1998). As a result, all stages of pressure ulcers are also seen in the homes (Park Lee Caffrey, 2009). However, there are limited studies that show the magnitude of the problem when compared to acute, sub acute, and nursing homes (Asimus Li, 2011). This project will conduct a retrospective chart review at a community based primary care provider to determine the prevalence of pressure ulcers among elderly individuals who are ... • 4. Resident Advisor Application Response Responses Resident Advisor Application Responses 1. Why do you feel you would be a good fit for your preferred population? Through my experiences at SAU thus far, I feel that I would be able to best serve the upperclassmen population as an RA. I have been a member of the St. Ambrose Student Government Association for the past two years, serving as Freshmen Class President and Sophomore Class President. My time on SGA has provided me with many opportunities to serve the entire student body, Freshmen through Seniors. In meetings, I have become confident voicing my perspectives and concerns with all members and the executive board. In terms of free time, I try to be a positive influence within my friend group; setting up movie nights, working out in the gym, going shopping, or going out to eat. I find this to be very important when given any time of leadership responsibility. Second, I have also learned the importance of the forgive and forget mentality. Having practice every day, it is easy to get on each others nerves. However, it is important to realize that every day is a new day. Before coming to a conclusion, it is crucial to listen to both sides and also take emotions into consideration. Lastly, I feel that it is very important to plan floor activities that provide students on the floor with opportunities to get to know each other. Through these activities and new found relationships, I feel that it will help the residents to be more respectful, social, and cordial with one another. Bonding opportunities create more of a family feel within the resident s hall, making the dorm experience one that everyone will enjoy. 3. From your perspective, what do you think are the three most important functions of a Resident Advisor? First and foremost, I think that it is most important for a Resident Advisor to be open and able to keep the peace within the resident s hall. Similarities Between Hamlet And The Count Of Monte Christo The Effects of Revenge The pursuit of vengeance regardless of all consequences and collateral damage is a fundamental aspect of the human condition. In both literature and reality great acts of violence are the products of retribution. Subsequently, this theme of avenging a wrong is central to both Hamlet and The Count of Monte Christo. Revenge is unpredictable and often causes unforeseen pain, making generally it undesirable. Attempting to enact vengeance upon a single person may often cause unintentional harm to innocent people. In Hamlet the entire royal family dies because of the plan Laertes and Claudius make (Shakespeare V.ii.310 360) . Additionally Polonius s death is caused by Hamlet seeking revenge. These events show several ignorant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The pursuit of vengeance can become a cycle of reciprocated hate. This principle was expressed in Why Revenge Is Bad and Good, an article about a man nearly destroying his life by doing violent, destructive things, as a result of his daughters death in the Oklahoma City bombing, which was an additional revenge act (Robinson) . This article shows a modern example of a revenge cycle chat almost consumed Bud Welch. The roles of the avenger and the recipient of revenge often switch do to one party feeling shortchanged by the other. In an interview, Professor Rosenbaum can be heard saying, The Saying an eye for an eye means simply that, the punishment should be equal to the crime. and old societies took only what was equal to the crime to insure that there was not any follow up reparations from either side. ( The Nonexistent ) Rosenbaum s words show that revenge should be equal to the crime in order to prevent more conflict. However, The Complicated Psychology of Revenge states all people see what is appropriate retaliation differently thereby making this all important equality nearly impossible. Two major populations in Yuma are Hispanic or Latino (62.0%), and Caucasian (32.6%) (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Males outnumber females, 51.4% to 48.6% (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). There are approximately 69,915 households with an average household size of 2.77 persons/household (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Seventy seven percent of households consist of married families and 17% consist of single parent households (Western Arizona Council of Governments, 2012). Even though, per capita income is approximately $18,887, over half (69.3%) of Yuma s residents own their homes, with a median value of $113,500 (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Cultural, traditional, and religious values have an influence on health patterns and behaviors exhibited by the community. Hispanic culture is dominant due to the close proximity to the U.S. Mexico border. Fifty two percent of households use a language other than English at home (U.S. Census Bureau, 2015). Therefore, an understanding of Hispanic culture is necessary for health care workers to effectively care for patients in this community. He made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain and he mistakenly thought there was a quicker route to Asia. It turned out he landed on two unknown continents (Jane, pg.6). In the event of making journeys, he accidentally came across to natives where he taught the spirit of exploration injecting a great deal in America s global economy. • 9. The Iliad, A Homeric Epic That Depicted The Age Of Heroes The Iliad, a Homeric epic that depicted the age of heroes in Archaic Greece. An age of giant, god like, men, and a time of true heroism. The themes of the Iliad encompass a realm consisting of the principles of justice, vengeance, and honour in Greek society. A monumental theme that Homer brought through the Iliad was the idea of Greek Shame culture, which Involved public praise and blame, to honor and shame one before others in one s society. The assemblies, called by the Achaean commanders, where the Achaeans would discuss and delegate battle strategy, acted as a perfect place for one to gain/denounce ones honour. These assemblies represented the political make up of the Achaean coalition force, where commanders could effectively voice their concerns and opinions on matters that face the council, all while fostering discussion that unified the Achaean force. Agamemnon was head of the Achaean army, with his royal scepter, but he still needed the confidence of his commanders in order to rule effectively. He established this confidence in the assemblies throughout the Iliad. The assemblies acted as forums of discussion and delegation, where those who were worthy, could speak and voice themselves. Everywhere, as far as the eye could reach, there was nothing but rough, shaggy, red, grass most of it as tall as I. North of the house, inside the ploughed fire breaks , grew a thick set strip of box elder trees, low and bushy, their leaves already turning yellow. This hedge was nearly a quarter of a mile long, but I had to look very hard to see it at all. The little trees were insignificant against the grass. It seemed as if the grass were about to run over them, and over the plum patch behind the sod chicken house. As I looked about me I felt that the grass was the country, as the water is the sea. • 12. The Slaves And Effects Of Slavery By Frederick Douglass 1. Slavery is an institution that repetitively separates family members and close friends from each other, without any regard to those people. This aids in disrupting the heteronormative nuclear family relationship greatly. Frederick Douglass said that My mother and I were separated when I was but an infant... and that It is a common custom...to part children from their mothers at a very early age. (pg. 1). This showing that most children that were born into slavery would grow up having no relationship at all with their own mothers. Also, a lot of slaves were born into slavery by the fact that children of slave women shall in all cases follow the condition of their mothers, (pg. 2) and the slaveholder now holds the title of father and master. With being torn from their mother at a young age and having your own father be your master, completely takes away the chance of a child that is born into slavery from having the normal nuclear family relationship. 2. The institution of slavery is something that can corrupt all parties involved or that around it. There was no exception, men, women, children, and the slaves themselves could be subject to be corrupted due to these horrific circumstances. Obviously the slave owners were the most corrupted with thinking that this institution was morally right, but their children were taught at a young age that this treatment to black people was fine. Behavior disorder is defined as Any of various forms of behavior that are considered inappropriate by members of the social group to which an individual belongs. (The American Heritage Stedman s Medical Dictionary, 2015) Due to its broad definition, methods of identification, diagnosis, and treatments are varied and controversial. After my son was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in November of 2012, I recognized a stigma within the community surrounding behavior disorders that made it difficult to find the appropriate support for my son and my family. This paper will discuss the causes of behavior disorders, methods for proper identification, and problems that can arise in the home, school, and community of a child with a behavior disorder. Behavior disorders vary in symptoms and name, and can be divided into several classifications, including anxiety disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, emotional disorders, dissociative disorders, and pervasive developmental disorders. In addition to Sensory Processing Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Autism fall under the behavior umbrella. Like many other mental illnesses, direct causes of these disorders are hard to pinpoint. If you knew me, you would know right off the bat that this is not the case, and if you are willing...give me a chance. I will relay to you a personal explanation for the quizzical statement above. Then, and only then, can you draw your own conclusions. In the summer of my sophomore year, one of my mom s childhood friends came to visit us. For the sake of anonymity, she shall henceforth be referred to as Jane Doe. Jane was unhappy with her marriage, and after several years of unhappiness decided to leave her husband. Her husband, or ex husband shall I say, was named Rob and is the same man as aforementioned. Nothing was so terrible in their relationship that, in my opinion, it could not be fixed. However, it never has been nor ever will be my place to judge them or their actions. Months passed and Jane became a closer member of our family. She finally (over a period of several months) came to the decision that she would stay with us on the large plot of land our family shares. We were overjoyed at this news, and above all else we were happy that she was happy. Then one day a letter arrived for Jane. It was from Rob, her now ex husband. It came so swiftly and without warning that I do not feel it is unjust to compare it to a falling star, yet unlike a falling star its arrival was not anticipated with wishes and excitement. The letter, to the best of my memory, said something along the lines of this, I have cancer. It seems I couldn t live with me either. The Fallout After World War 1 And The Great Depression The fallout after the World War 1 and the Great Depression saw the emergence of a literary preoccupation with the idea of fragmentation, and a cubist application to literature as a means of representing the 20th Century modern reality. Authors, poets, artists etc saw; cubism, expressionism and fragmentation as the best vehicles to depict the incomplete, broken lives of their subjects. With both modern and post modern literature making a conscious break away from previous realism, 20thC literature employed and explored subjectivism, whereby the author turned from the typical external reality to the inner consciousness of a character or subject, to reflect a motif/ theme as a whole. Modernist literature did so by exploring fragmentation in terms of narrative, how a character was constructed, the formation of passages and chapters, and how events unfolded. This typically surmounted to the creation of a sense of a chaotic universe, metaphysically unfounded, laced with the subconscious fears of characters and notions of alienation. This was successfully created by reconsidering and challenging the established conventions of perspective . Meaning, the more crafting skills you possess, the better. Missing out on career opportunities due to lack of skills is not acceptable for me. I aim to gain vast amounts of knowledge of the creation process of fashion through this project. When people first started to wear clothing, about 60,000 years ago, they did not sew at all. They wrapped themselves in leather and furs to cover up. When people first began living in Central Asia, where the temperatures usually were lower, people wanted stronger clothing. They began to use sharp pointed sticks or stone tools called awls (pronounced OLLS) to poke holes in their clothes so they could run the cords through the clothes instead of just around them. They used the awls to poke the end of the cord through the holes, too. Both Neanderthals and modern people used awls this way (K.E. CARR). Hawthorne was a famous American author during that time frame. He is a relative to a judge from the Salem Witch Trials, which was his Great Great Grandfather John Hathorne. Hathorne was the only judge who did not express atonement for his crimes, which led people to dislike all the Hathorne s. This sparked Nathaniel Hawthorne s interest in the Puritan times, which resulted in the Scarlet Letter. Hawthorne delineates Puritan standards religiously and culturally in an outstanding way. He was also an Anti Transcendentalist which means that he believed that all humans were evil. In his novel, the Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne uses the symbols of the scarlet letter, Reverend Dimmesdale, and burrs to add onto the overall theme of guilt. First off, Hawthorne uses the symbol of the scarlet letter to contribute to the theme of Guilt. The scarlet letter is forced upon the bosom of Hester, who is the protagonist of this novel. Hester had a child after her husband was known to be missing. She was accused of Adultery, and the scarlet colored letter was put on her as a token of shame to cast a shadow on her eternally. In this specific article Reich is looking at the problems within US economy, and the realization to what is really happening and the differences between the different levels in the social classes here in the US. In order to portray the apparent hidden truth to the matter, he refers to past issues and looks how or where there may be differences. Ultimately Reich is looking to highlight these issues in where it seems there is perhaps a large gap within the economic food chain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author moves through the paper moving to the next point, this being less based around the problems with technological advances but more to the fact, that a lot of the jobs within the US are now being lost to those citizens of the country due to the immigration numbers largely increasing, this may not seem to be a deemed direct problem to the gap between the poorer class and wealthier individuals. However Reich says the early 1980s they stopped hiring routine producers in Shreveport and began hiring cheaper routine producers in Singapore (Reich 405). Looking at these words from the author it clearly shows that he sees an issue with this, with the foreign workers willing to work for less means that Americans are losing these jobs, Again in this situation the rich are only winning, as they are getting the same labor services but for cheaper, meaning both them individuals out of work aren t earning and those who may be in employment are also struggling due to the wage which they are willing to work ... • 31. The Planned Parenthood Debate The U.S. Senate blocked a bill to defund Planned Parenthood and channel federal dollars to other health care providers and community health centers that do not perform abortions on Monday. The bill calling for defunding of Planned Parenthood was introduced by Freshman Senator Joni Ernst, R Iowa, who ran an anti abortion campaign last year. The American taxpayer should not be asked to fund an organization like Planned Parenthood that has shown a sheer disdain for human dignity and complete disregard for women and their babies, she said on Monday in a floor speech. The vote on the bill was 53 46, 7 votes short of the 60 votes required to proceed and for debate to open on the bill. The votes fell mostly along party lines. Planned Parenthood provides health care services besides abortion like cervical cancer screenings, contraception, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and birth control counseling to approximately 2.7 million women a year at over 700 affiliated health centers across the country. It receives more than $500 million a year in Medicaid reimbursements and $60 million in grants for family planning services. However, U.S. law prohibits the use of federal funds to perform abortions. With each and every conflict SIGINT collection and analysis has grown and matured. Of all the SIGINT platforms no platform has had a more far reaching impact on the battle field then Prophet Spiral version 1 Collection system. From the Prophet Spiral 1 to the newly fielded Prophet Enhanced, the prophet system has allowed commanders real time access to valuable SIGINT intelligence and Electronic Warfare unlike any time in history. Although the sensors have a man packable system (PRD 13), I will only discuss the sensor because the PRD 13 would warrant an essay by itself and is often used independent of the sensor. • 33. The Spread Of A Sexually Transmitted Infections In the world today almost everyone knows what a sexually transmitted infection is. People know that these are infections caused by risky behavior and can stay with someone for the rest of their life. Although people know what a sexually transmitted infection is they may not know the proper way to prevent such infections or they may be unware of what their community offers to help prevent unwanted pregnancy and infections. I ventured to my local grocery store, Standale Meijer, to see what variety of options were available for men and women to prevent unwanted sexually transmitted infections. I was greeted by a plethora of options. Most of the products were geared towards men, such as condoms. There were about fifteen different types of condoms across seven different brands. Trojan was a more prominent brand that was offered at this location. There were about ten different Trojan condom types. Among them were ultra ribbed, fire and ice, bareskin, ultra thin and her pleasure ecstasy. Birth control options offered at this location was not a huge selection. I found four different types, all of which were for women. The options provided are Plan B, Today Sponge, Options Conceptrol, and Vaginal Contraceptive Film. All are over the counter but you need to go to a pharmacist to acquire Plan B. Fortunately, I was the only one on the isle so I did not feel like anyone was watching me or feel awkward for staring at all these different condoms and contraceptive items. The Pregnancy ... • 34. A Report On The Disease Introduction The disease discussed in this article is eumycetoma, a chronic granulomatous subcutaneous infectious disease that is endemic in the mycetoma belt of 30 degrees North to 15 degrees South of the equator (Hellemond et al., 2013). Sudan has the highest country wide prevalence of eumycetoma, with 2% of the population being infected in the endemic villages in the Gezira area (Ahmed et al., 2004). Although mycetoma can be caused by various bacteria and fungi agents, the majority of mycetoma cases in Sudan, which is around 70%, are caused by the fungus Madurella mycetomatis (eumycetoma) (Hellemond et al., 2013). Nonetheless, while most people living in the endemic areas have been exposed to the fungi, only a few actually develop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Schistosomiasis can even convert an already established Th1 response to a Th 2 response. Furthermore, in eumycetoma endemic countries schistosomiasis is often a chronic disease that lasts the duration of a person s life, and this could lead to a persistent Th2 type immune response (Hellemond et al., 2013).Thus, if Schistosomiasis predisposes the development of eumycetoma, efforts to eradicate Schistosoma in a population could also lower the number of eumycetoma cases. If this is the case, then intervention strategies could be developed to target both Schistosoma and eumycetoma in a population. Hypothesis The primary association examined in this study is the relationship between a Th2 type immune response and the susceptibility to eumycetoma. Hellemond et al. (2013) have previously shown that eumycetoma patients increased concentrations of IL 10 circulating in their bodies. Thus, it is hypothesized that an infection of schistosomiasis, which induces a Th2 type response that is accompanied by increased levels of IL 10, might increase the susceptibility of a patient to eumycetoma. However, toxoplasmosis, which induces a Th1 type immune response, should not be associated with increased susceptibility to eumycetoma. Methods and Materials Hellemond et al. (2013) collected 84 serum samples from the endemic areas of Sudan between 2001 and 2008. Of the 84 samples collected, there were 53 from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Judith And Maidservant In Artemisia Gentileschi s Judith and Maidservant with the Head of Holofernes Judith is depicted with her maidservant after the head of Assyrian general Holofernes has been chopped off. The Assyrian Army was to beseech Judith s town Bethulia. Judith is a jewish widow, who was invited to have dinner with Holofernes. After a night of drinking she attempts to seduce him in order to chop his head off, and save her people. This is the second image in a series of three Gentileschi produces, here she has succeeded in her mission, and is attempting to get away. In this work I have conflicting opinions about what is the focal point. The focal point is the area of the work where the eyes are drawn, or where the eye tends to focus. I see two main focal points one being Holofernes s head at the bottom of the work where all the light is filtered. Also I see Judith s gesture also being the focal point. She is ...
