Basic Principles Of Communication
The Basic Principles of Communication Alethea Lester COM200: Interpersonal Communication
Christi Renzi October 23, 2017 The Basic Principles of Communication We will never know
everything there is to know about relationships with others or ourselves because the communication
process is complexed (Bevan sole, 2014). Communication is the main key to being successful in any
relationship, whether it is business or personal. Communication is the interaction between two or more
people who share meaning through messages that is either verbal or non verbal messages through
contexts (Bevan, J.L, Sole, K. (2014, section 1.4, para. 2). In order to become a competent
communicator and avoid miscommunication, one has to acknowledge and ... Show more content on

The students are medically fragile and severely handicapped. However, there is one student that the
assistant work with more and know more about. The student has seizures if he is over stimulated. The
assistant knows how to not over stimulate him. The student loves to look at lights on the ceiling,
however too much can set his seizures off. One day the teacher decides to work with the student. She
is over stimulating with the lights. The assistant is trying to tell her what she was doing was too much
for him. The teacher over talks assistant and responds before it is her turn to talk. The teacher do not
listen to the assistant. However, she keeps doing what she is doing. Before you know it, the student is
having back to back seizures and 911 has to be call because the seizure will not stop. This leads to
miscommunication because the teacher is not listening and disrespecting what the assistant is trying to
communicate to her about the student. The results of the teacher not listening to the assistant while
explaining how too much lights can over stimulate the student could make the situation uncomfortable
and cause complication with student and the assistant. One challenge or barrier that is caused by
miscommunication is misperceptions. Misperception is the broadest challenge of interpersonal
communication (Bevan, J.L., Sole, K. (2014, section 1.3, para. 12). Since the teacher was not

The Passage Lesson For Women By Ban Zhao
The passage Lesson for Women is a work done by Ban Zhao that goes into detail on the proper ways a
lady should act. Not only does the author explain the ways but she also goes into detail to help others
understand what it s like for a woman of that time period. When writing the author provides us with
detailed sentences and a lot of informative material. Over the course of this essay we will be breaking
down the key elements of this passage to fully understand it.
The author of this passage, Ban Zhao, seemed to be very knowledgeable and influential to young
women. Since the setting takes place in Asia, I think that the author may have been influenced to write
this piece by other woman of her country. Taking clues from the style of writing I can infer that this
piece was written in a past since it uses words and phrases that seem dated. When looking over this
writing piece I can heavily agree ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think at the time the author may of tried to target an audience of young girls. Instead of writing a
story the author cuts right to the case and explains and goes into detail about how a woman should act.
The writer of this piece most likely wants you to take something from this and either learn from it or
apply it to your life. An audience that lived in that time period may read this with a different mindset
than someone of this era.
The passage Lesson for Women was a very informative and interesting work to read about. After
reading the piece multiple times I would definitely recommend this to someone willing to learn about
different eras. I think that close reading this piece was very important since it uncovered many great
things I never thought of glancing over in the beginning. If someone had the chance to read this work
and was hesitant I would definitely tell them to go ahead and read it since I enjoyed, it very

Caged Bird By Maya Angelo
Caged bird by maya Angela
When I read caged bird, i noticed that maya Angelo used metaphors, symbolism and repetition, in her
poem, she used metaphors to give an understanding view on both sides of her topic, and built up on
those two sides with repetition.
I caged bird, right away I noticed when she portrayed a metaphor in the line can seldom see
through/his bars of rage his wings are clipped and/his feet are tied (Angelou, 10 13), I personally see
the meaning of this as, showing when a person is trapped within themselves not able to see the world
in front of them, I also feel that what she is portraying in my point of view is that, you can never get
past something if you keep yourself their, I get this idea from the line can seldom see through/his bars
of rage (Angelou, 10 11) also I feel she s showing what society can do to someone and how they can
slow down their progress when she writes his wings are clipped and/his feet are tied (Angelou, 12 13)
I feel she uses all the aspects to tell the metaphor that the bird represents a human who has been
slowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While creating her metaphorical view I think that she used symbolism as apart of that, I also believe
that the symbolism that she uses in her poem is about the bird, i could recognize that she might have
been using the bird as a person, I especially notice this when she writes a caged bird stands on a grave
of dreams (Angelou, 27)I know that birds don t have ambitions or dreams, so I used this knowledge to
deduce it to being a human, this isn t exactly personification, but more like giving the bird the ability
to be know for its placement in its view of dreams and ambition I noticed that she uses the bird as a
base for her whole poem, she utilizes this bird to portray how weak a humans will it can become, I
also feel that she uses the cage also, to embody the hardships and how the bird is not able to move past
it, hence the part where she says can seldom see through/his bars of rage (Angelou, 10 11

Theme Of Political Education In Fahrenheit 451
Ray Bradbury displays a dystopian society in the midst of intense conflict with no value for education
in his novel Fahrenheit 451. A day at school in the world of Fahrenheit 451 would often involve
attending classes such as an hour of TV class , baseball, basketball or running, and painting, opposed
common classes such as math, english, science and history. At a glance, one might not be able to see
the drastic similarity between these two worlds, but in fact there is a major one. Where do children
recieve their political education, where are they displaying their critical thinking? Both aspects of
education are crucial in a child s education. Political education and critical thinking provide children
with the tools that they will need to prevent the government from manipulating them and the rest of
society. Without these tools, an epidemic of ignorance flows upon society, which is what clearly
occurs in Fahrenheit 451. In the middle of a lengthy and continuous war, but with the persecution of
knowledge apparent, political education is the obvious, yet regrettably unobtainable solution to this
conflict. In general, the citizens of Bradbury s dystopian society have little to no interest in politics
whatsoever. The two citizens who are the prime examples of proving this statement
Hodges 2 are Mildred s friends Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Bowles, with their blatant ignorance in regards
to politics. Most likely in our society, political discussion would be on the latest

The Dc Metro Area Reduce Violence Regarding Firearms Essay
Guiding Question(s) How can the DC metro area reduce violence regarding firearms? How can gun
control laws helps solve this issue?
Introduction/Background
DC metro area is known for having one of the strictest gun control laws in the US, but it highest crime
rate regarding firearms in the whole country (Phillips). In July 2014, the case Palmer v. District of
Columbia (2014) said that there is an absolution prohibition on carrying handguns out of your home,
place of business or specific recreational purposes (Alman). There are numerous requirements that
need to be met to obtain a concealed carry permit in the District of Columbia. Cities and Metropolitan
areas have firearm homicide rates in line with the nations with one of the highest homicide rate.
Homicide and gun crimes in Washington DC has increased every year despite the overall crime rate
being relatively the same. Armed robberies has went up to 16 percent and assault with a dangerous
weapons involving a firearm went up to 19 percent (Alman).
Thesis Statement In the DC Metropolitan Area, violence regarding firearm has been a big issue. It has
one of the highest homicide rates involving firearm in the country even though they are known for
having one of the strictest gun control laws in the country. Gun control in the an metropolitan area is
impossible, but little changes can be made in order to reduce the amount of damage that firearms have
brought to the city. Creating a system to take accountability of the

Homeowners in Virginia and the Washington, DC area often consider aesthetics and price as the main
factors driving decisions. While we understand the importance of finding windows that match your
home s architecture and complement your overall design scheme, at Renewal by Andersen we think

Extreme Human Emotions are the Sole Product of Biological...
It has been claimed that human emotions are the sole product of biological functioning. The James
Lange Theory of Emotion (1884) proposes that there are three components of emotions which can be
attributed to the automatic nervous system (ANS). The three components are Cognition (appraisal of
the event), Action (Fight or flight) and Feeling (Aspect of the emotion). Here we see that a biological
attribution of emotion has been in place since the 1800s and has been common knowledge for some
time. This essay will assess and examine evidence that has been provided to support the idea that
emotions are the product of biology.
Certain areas of the brain have been identified when studying fear. The amygdala is involved in
processing emotions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emotional Memory also exists which isn t conscious (Claparede, 1911). When studying patients with
amnesia, it was found Claparede would introduce himself to a patient every day and she would not
remember ever meeting him previously. He began to hold a pin when shaking hands with her which
would cause her pain. Although the woman could not remember the man each day, she began to refuse
to shake his hand due to fear of being hurt. This showed that the patient could not form new memories
but the brain can ensure that the systems related to fear can override cognitive processing when
encountering a threat.
As we can see, the brain plays a strong role in producing fear responses. Additionally, there are
physical indicators of fear too. The sympathetic nervous system is responsible for the fight or flight
affect producing increased heart rate and breathing. This in turn produces behavioural and
psychological responses such as feeling fearful and changes in facial expression. These biological
responses are caused by information within the brain which strongly suggests that fear is a product of
biological functioning.
Another important human emotion to look at is anger which is essential for communication and
responding to threats. Deffenberger (2002) defines anger as coping resources that are available to the
individual. When studying the brain, the amygdala is active in related to anger. Dopamine and
adrenaline are

My Improvement As A Writer
After going reading through my final essays and reflection letters, it s surprising how quickly I have
deleveled and improved as a writer. Before started this class, I knew, as a writer, where my
weaknesses lied: word choice, transitional phases, brainstorming, and finally putting my thoughts into
writing. My goal was to work on them and improve, and I was successful. The process all began once
I started using the verb tense strategy in my Unit One Essay. With this strategy, I was able to not only
use better word choice but also strengthen the entire sentence. (Killed two birds with one stone.)
Personally, I believe a lot of strategies for improvement came from Unit One. It was in this Unit that I
realized how hard it is for me to organize

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Professional Training
GENERAL CONCLUSION:
This research which aimed at understanding if financial authority trainers are professionally and
intellectually well equipped to instruct and assess adult learners has enabled us to attain some
important achievements that we organized into two main groups: positive and negative.
Such an appraisal was made possible by comparing financial authority trainers habits and actions with
the principles of andragogy as described in Malcom Knowles works. Thus, we were positively
impressed by their awareness of the fact that adult learners engaged in professional training should not
be given a mark for fear to hinder his self esteem. Moreover, most of them knew that adults learning
and assessment should rather be task based. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What Sets Capital Group Private Client Services Apart From...
Interviewer: So, Bob can you talk a little bit about what sets Capital Group Private Client Services
apart from other wealth managers?
Bob: When I think about what sets Capital Group Private Client Services apart, I think of three things.
I think of our firm s ownership, being a privately held company allows us to make decisions for the
very long term, in the best interested of our clients. Secondly, I think of our global reach, being a firm
that has annalists around the world thinking about where are the best opportunities for our clients.
Third is our singular focus on investment management that is all we do. So, if we don t do this well,
we have nothing else to fall back on.
Interviewer: Why is that important and different from other firms?
Bob: Being singularly focused on managing money for wealthy individuals, allows us to not be
distracted on many of the other businesses that our competitors are engaged in. For example, most of
the firms, who manage money that we compete with, earn most of their revenue from other banking,
investment banking, and insurance activities. Managing money at Capital Group is all that we do.
Interviewer: So, can you talk a little bit about the origins of the firm and how Client Services got
started?

The founders of our firm began retiring and were looking to a firm to take care of their families and

1. I think that auditors should be held liable for failing to discover fraud. There are many ways the
fraud could have been discovered over the years if the auditors performed an objective audit that
followed rules and regulations. It is an auditor s obligation to perform an audit with objectivity,
skepticism, independence, and objectivity. Ernst amp; Whinney failed to meet these criteria. The

Conventions Of Modernism
The Modernism literary period represented a paradigm shift for breaking established traditions of the
previous centuries. Modernism has no definitive starting point but can be argued to have begun in the
early 1900s to the mid 1900s. However, rather than optimism, the focus of many writers revolved
around pessimistic ideas that saw the faults in humanity. In order to break conventions, many different
writing styles emerged in search of uniqueness. The literary period of Modernism characterizes around
its starting circumstances, beliefs, and famous works.
Modernism rose to prominence in the early years of the twentieth century with the horrors of World
War I being the catalyst to the reformation in beliefs (Rahn, Modernism ; Lorcher ... Show more

A prime example is James Joyce, who brings together a unique writing style abandoning standard
elements of fictions and explores the human mind in Ulysses. The Waste Land by T. S. Eliot also
strays from convention as well as incorporates it in biblical like verses and references that focus on the
emptiness of Industrialism (Rahn, Modernism ; Lorcher Modernism in Literature ). Another example
is Ford Madox Ford s The Good Soldier that analyzes war s consequences. Each example incorporates
the defining characteristics of Modernism whether in being unconventional, analytical, or displaying
negativity.
The Modernism Period in English defines itself in starting circumstances, beliefs, and famous works.
In essence, the inspiration from war and society s advances led the way to new beliefs and changes in
perception of the world. Nevertheless, the beliefs brought on from negativity often burgeons more
negativity while the truth is thought as relative. Furthermore, famous works such as Ulysses, The
Waste Land, and The Good Soldier present unmistakable aspects of the Modernism Period.

Crime and violence rate are increase in world every day. People are being rob, rape and kill either for

Dangers Of Apathy By Merriam Webster
Dangers of Apathy Merriam Webster defines the word apathy as a lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or
concern. The FY16 Chief Petty Officer Selects, however, feel that there is more to this word. Pure
apathy is the personal choice of removing any and all shred of interest or concern to a particular
person, place, or thing. This individual choice can be depicted in a variety of ways. One of these ways
is doing just enough to get by, or flying under the RADAR, as some may put it. This type of behavior
can be extremely dangerous for many reasons, one of the biggest reasons is that it could lead to
someone losing their life. For instance, the job of a Cryptologic Technician is to gather vital, time
sensitive information that front line ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even worse, the occurrence of death, or the likelihood thereof, is of no importance to someone with
this level of apathy. They allow the sickness of apathy to guide their lives. The choice to care, or not
care, remains in their hands. However, they are blinded by the despair that they either cannot see they
have the choice to change their view, or they just do not care. As stated above, apathy can help
motivate some people. In fact, the Greeks had an entirely different idea behind the word apathy. In the
original Greek word, apatheia was defined as the insensibility to pain or suffering. The Greeks had an
idea that one should push through and even ignore pain. In this way of thinking, the Greeks believed
being they could be objective or impartial due to non suffering. When properly reflected upon, apathy
can, in fact, inspire a person to push past the fear of pain or failure. It is important to understand that
failure will happen, yet when it does we must bounce back, learn from our mistakes, and press on. We
cannot hide from failure, it will come regardless, or we will grow apathetic to the situation. If we truly
have an interest in the goal, then it is imperative to stand up and face what may happen. While it may
hurt, and may even in fact frighten us, we must push forward. We must not concern ourselves with the
pain, the fear, and the failure and focus on the goal. We may learn from all of these.

One of Donatello s earliest works was the statue of David. This statue was a work of marble. This was

courageous biblical character who fought against the gigantic Goliath, which is described as a giant
Philistine warrior. This statue was originally Cathedral but was moved to the Palazzo Vecchio in 1416

Chapter I. THEORETICAL ASPECT OF USING VISUAL MATERIAL IN TEACHING ENGLISH
1.1. The importance of using visual aids in teaching English Nowadays, whereever you go around the
world you can find a certain people who can communicate with English Language. Because of
globalization and other reasons English is going to be the language of the world. Apart from the use of
English as their mother tongue in some countries there are a number of countries who can teach
English as Second Language or Foreign Language. Hence, in order to use English Language more
effectively and efficiently having rich knowledge of vocabulary is crucial. In most cases you can find
communication break down when the students at school are not able to recall the appropriate word for
the right situation of interaction. So in order to overcome this and similar problems the use of visual
materials in teaching English Language vocabulary is mandatory. The use of visual materials makes
the meaning of the words memorable and long lasting in students mind. Visual Education is not new.
It has years of research back of it. A Dutch Humanist theologist and writer Erasmus (1466 1536)
disclosed memorization as a technique of learning and advocated that the children should learn
through the aids of pictures or other visuals. While John Amos Comenius (1592 1670) prepared a
book known as Orbis Sensilium Pictus (the word of sense objects) which contained near about 150

History Of Health Care Reform
History of Health Care Reform
Our country has been on the cusp of health care reform several times throughout history. It has
evolved from strictly a patient and physician system to numerous other parties in the equation from
patients, physicians, hospitals, insurance carriers and government programs to name a few. The latest
health care reform came with passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) signed
into law on March 23, 2010. This new law is a conglomerate of the many attempts at health care
reform throughout the years.
In the early 1900 s, healthcare was aimed at protecting workers from lost wages and medical expenses
while they were sick (Hoffman, 2003). President Truman proposed universal health insurance but it
was seen as socialized medicine and the legislation never passed (Oberlander, 2012). He did manage
to pass the Social Security Act of 1935 that later became the basis for Medicare and Medicaid
(Hoffman C. , 2009).
Military Medicare was passed in 1956 that provided health care benefits for military dependents.
Employer based insurance continued to grow during this time. As health care was becoming more
difficult to get for older Americans and the sick, the U.S. government became involved and passed
Medicare/Medicaid legislation on July 30, 1965 (Taylor, 2014). Medicare Part A to pay for hospital
care, skilled nursing and home health, optional Medicare Part B to pay for physician care, and
Medicaid, to assist states in covering

This Paper Will Discuss Different Aspects Of Schizophrenia.
This paper will discuss different aspects of Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is an illness that affects how
a person thinks, feels, and acts. It affects each person differently both on a daily basis and over a
lifetime. Living with schizophrenia may make it harder manage your feelings, think clearly and deal
with other people on the daily basis. Many people who battle with this disorder have difficulty
distinguishing between what is real and what is imaginary. Schizophrenics have a hard time in social
settings as well. Experts don t know what causes this disease. Some ideas of the cause include:
Genetics or heredity, biology, or a possible viral infection. In some cases, brain chemistry and brain
structure are not normal. Family history and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike Dr. Jekyll, people who suffer from schizophrenia do not quickly change into a different,
unrecognizable person.
Demographics
Schizophrenia is a severe and persistent mental illness that crosses all racial, ethnic, cultural and
demographic lines. The disease is found in all cultures throughout the world. Whether in Baltimore,
Manila, or Rome the rate remains the same. According to (Kaplan, 1994) one percent is treated for
schizophrenia in any one year. While it appears that schizophrenia is equally in men and women the
two genders show several differences in onset and course of illness. Again according to (Kaplan) men
seem to have the onset of illness from age 15 to 25 years. Women peak age of onset is 25 to 35 years.
Classification
There are five different types of this disease. Below I have listed the different types and defined each.
Paranoid schizophrenia is the most common type and occurs later in life than other types. People with
paranoid schizophrenia have frightening thoughts and hear threatening voices. This causes them to act
out or argue with others. They may also have delusions or beliefs that seem real to them, even when
there s strong evidence they aren t. Examples of these can be a co worker is trying to hurt you or
poison your food, your partner is cheating on

The NFL National Protests
In 2017 controversy struck when the NFL tried taking a stance and protesting the National Anthem. In
this protest, many NFL players one by one knelt down while the National Anthem played at their
sporting event. The National Anthem is a song for our country and symbol to represent all of the men
and women who have fought in our military. This song is not played just for our entertainment, it is to
honor the flag and what it stands for. The protesting was started by Colin Kaepernick, last season,
when he was the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He was the first player to take a knee during
the playing of the National Anthem, now many other NFL players this season are following in his path
and doing the same thing. Many players and viewers claim it is for police brutality and the injustice
that is being served, while other viewers see it as entitled millionaires disrespecting the flag and the
military. Everyone has different opinions on the issue, but no matter what the country needs to respect
one another as humans and be united; the American Flag is a symbol of our freedom and the NFL
needs to recognize the National Anthem rather than kneeling and disrespecting what it stands for. On
one side of the controversy are the people who agree with the protesting and kneeling for the National
Anthem. Both the players and viewers agree with the message they think is getting across. They are
kneeling against police brutality and the injustice they think is being served. In

The results of the teacher not listening to the assistant while explaining how too much lights can over stimulate the student could make the situation uncomfortable and cause complication with student and the assistant. One challenge or barrier that is caused by miscommunication is misperceptions. Misperception is the broadest challenge of interpersonal communication (Bevan, J.L., Sole, K. Not only does the author explain the ways but she also goes into detail to help others understand what it s like for a woman of that time period. When writing the author provides us with detailed sentences and a lot of informative material. Over the course of this essay we will be breaking down the key elements of this passage to fully understand it. The author of this passage, Ban Zhao, seemed to be very knowledgeable and influential to young women. Since the setting takes place in Asia, I think that the author may have been influenced to write this piece by other woman of her country. Taking clues from the style of writing I can infer that this piece was written in a past since it uses words and phrases that seem dated. When looking over this writing piece I can heavily agree ... An audience that lived in that time period may read this with a different mindset than someone of this era. The passage Lesson for Women was a very informative and interesting work to read about. After reading the piece multiple times I would definitely recommend this to someone willing to learn about different eras. A day at school in the world of Fahrenheit 451 would often involve attending classes such as an hour of TV class , baseball, basketball or running, and painting, opposed common classes such as math, english, science and history. At a glance, one might not be able to see the drastic similarity between these two worlds, but in fact there is a major one. Where do children recieve their political education, where are they displaying their critical thinking? Both aspects of education are crucial in a child s education. Political education and critical thinking provide children with the tools that they will need to prevent the government from manipulating them and the rest of society. Without these tools, an epidemic of ignorance flows upon society, which is what clearly occurs in Fahrenheit 451. In the middle of a lengthy and continuous war, but with the persecution of knowledge apparent, political education is the obvious, yet regrettably unobtainable solution to this conflict. In general, the citizens of Bradbury s dystopian society have little to no interest in politics whatsoever. The James Lange Theory of Emotion (1884) proposes that there are three components of emotions which can be attributed to the automatic nervous system (ANS). The three components are Cognition (appraisal of the event), Action (Fight or flight) and Feeling (Aspect of the emotion). Here we see that a biological attribution of emotion has been in place since the 1800s and has been common knowledge for some time. This essay will assess and examine evidence that has been provided to support the idea that emotions are the product of biology. Certain areas of the brain have been identified when studying fear. When studying patients with amnesia, it was found Claparede would introduce himself to a patient every day and she would not remember ever meeting him previously. He began to hold a pin when shaking hands with her which would cause her pain. Although the woman could not remember the man each day, she began to refuse to shake his hand due to fear of being hurt. This showed that the patient could not form new memories but the brain can ensure that the systems related to fear can override cognitive processing when encountering a threat. As we can see, the brain plays a strong role in producing fear responses. Additionally, there are physical indicators of fear too. The sympathetic nervous system is responsible for the fight or flight affect producing increased heart rate and breathing. This in turn produces behavioural and psychological responses such as feeling fearful and changes in facial expression. These biological responses are caused by information within the brain which strongly suggests that fear is a product of biological functioning. Another important human emotion to look at is anger which is essential for communication and responding to threats. Deffenberger (2002) defines anger as coping resources that are available to the individual. When studying the brain, the amygdala is active in related to anger. Dopamine and adrenaline are ... As stated above, apathy can help motivate some people. In fact, the Greeks had an entirely different idea behind the word apathy. In the original Greek word, apatheia was defined as the insensibility to pain or suffering. The Greeks had an idea that one should push through and even ignore pain. In this way of thinking, the Greeks believed being they could be objective or impartial due to non suffering. When properly reflected upon, apathy can, in fact, inspire a person to push past the fear of pain or failure. It is important to understand that failure will happen, yet when it does we must bounce back, learn from our mistakes, and press on. We cannot hide from failure, it will come regardless, or we will grow apathetic to the situation. If we truly have an interest in the goal, then it is imperative to stand up and face what may happen. While it may hurt, and may even in fact frighten us, we must push forward. We must not concern ourselves with the pain, the fear, and the failure and focus on the goal. We may learn from all of these. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. History Of Health Care Reform History of Health Care Reform Our country has been on the cusp of health care reform several times throughout history. It has evolved from strictly a patient and physician system to numerous other parties in the equation from patients, physicians, hospitals, insurance carriers and government programs to name a few. The latest health care reform came with passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) signed into law on March 23, 2010. This new law is a conglomerate of the many attempts at health care reform throughout the years. In the early 1900 s, healthcare was aimed at protecting workers from lost wages and medical expenses while they were sick (Hoffman, 2003). President Truman proposed universal health insurance but it was seen as socialized medicine and the legislation never passed (Oberlander, 2012). He did manage to pass the Social Security Act of 1935 that later became the basis for Medicare and Medicaid (Hoffman C. , 2009). Military Medicare was passed in 1956 that provided health care benefits for military dependents. Employer based insurance continued to grow during this time. As health care was becoming more difficult to get for older Americans and the sick, the U.S. government became involved and passed Medicare/Medicaid legislation on July 30, 1965 (Taylor, 2014). Medicare Part A to pay for hospital care, skilled nursing and home health, optional Medicare Part B to pay for physician care, and Medicaid, to assist states in covering ... • 34. The NFL National Protests In 2017 controversy struck when the NFL tried taking a stance and protesting the National Anthem. In this protest, many NFL players one by one knelt down while the National Anthem played at their sporting event. The National Anthem is a song for our country and symbol to represent all of the men and women who have fought in our military. This song is not played just for our entertainment, it is to honor the flag and what it stands for. The protesting was started by Colin Kaepernick, last season, when he was the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He was the first player to take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, now many other NFL players this season are following in his path and doing the same thing. Many players and viewers claim it is for police brutality and the injustice that is being served, while other viewers see it as entitled millionaires disrespecting the flag and the military. Everyone has different opinions on the issue, but no matter what the country needs to respect one another as humans and be united; the American Flag is a symbol of our freedom and the NFL needs to recognize the National Anthem rather than kneeling and disrespecting what it stands for. On one side of the controversy are the people who agree with the protesting and kneeling for the National Anthem. Both the players and viewers agree with the message they think is getting across. They are kneeling against police brutality and the injustice they think is being served. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
