A student centered learning environment focuses on the abilities, interests, and needs of each individual student. The teacher acts as a guide to help students learn in ways that fit their learning styles, while giving students voice in how they learn and demonstrate their knowledge. This approach strengthens motivation, promotes communication, encourages discovery and active learning, and builds relationships between students and teachers. While transitioning to this model requires adjustments, it results in students taking responsibility for their own learning.
