Strategic global human resource management (SGHRM) plays an important role in coordinating global networks. SGHRM involves selecting strategies, providing leadership during cultural changes, and possessing multiple relationship-building competencies. Global human resource managers must promote multicultural trust within networked organizations and design human resource allocations and strategies between units. Challenges to SGHRM include navigating authority ambiguities, interdependencies between subsidiaries, and acquiring the diverse skills needed for effective management across networks.
