Scrum Is Also For Marketers: A Practical Approach to Using Scrum to Manage Ma...ServiceRocket
Project clutter is a big problem for any Marketer. Managing day-to-day and long-term projects is something that only a few do well. The focus of my session is to share how my team has increased productivity by focusing on active sprints, setting long-term expectations, and communicating effectively across company. Using a Scrum board, backlogged items remain conveniently out-of-sight until they become relevant in next planning session. Efficiency is maximized because team members are laser-focused on their sprint(s). During planning, projects are assigned a complexity metric (via story points or time estimates) so that unrealistic expectations are removed.
Here are ideas to better manage your marketing team's workflow, uses of JIRA Projects and Agile Scrum boards, methods of aligning your marketing team with Engineering and Product and more.

Some time ago I was hired as a Scrum Master to lead a cross-functional Scrum Team. We had to deliver releasable increment of the system every two weeks, which was a huge challenge for everyone in the team as no one had experience with Scrum before.
I felt that I was leading an elite Special Forces unit which is able to achieve almost any target. In such a team, there was no need to tell people how to do things. On the other hand there was a huge need to guide them through the social challenges and conflicts in communication, given their lack of motivation to interact.
I started to search information and good models of how to lead self-organized and cross-functional teams. I found many outstanding books with tips and tricks, which I use to this day when I have to deal with natural instability in Scrum Teams. On the webinar, I am going to share some techniques and models that can help you keep growing the productivity and performance of the Scrum Team.
Starting from “The Mist”, we will do a guided tour through several of the best practices of Scrum, being mined, gathered, and documented by the ScrumPLoP group in the form of patterns. We will start with a very quick overview of the essentials of Scrum, and then will visit several Scrum Patterns, sampled from different categories, highlighting problem and solution, applicability and rational. We will also describe the process being used to do this work. At the end, we hope that it will be much easier for participants to “see” how to go from “the mist” to “good products” using “self-managed teams” following the “spirit of Scrum”.

This webinar highlights different styles of useful daily scrum patterns.
Should your Daily Scrum be done round robin, random order, or should you “Walk the Items” instead? Should you run your Daily Scrum quite differently if your team is remote or distributed? What are some good techniques for distributed Daily Scrums These are all challenging questions, and Scrum Patterns help us decide what to do when there are no straightforward, easy answers, for how to implement Scrum.

The change in mindset necessary to become a servant leader is incredibly hard for a scrum master who comes from command and control background. As a newly minted Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), I returned to my team excited and ready to get underway with a scrum adoption. Unfortunately, I had not fully grasped the concept of servant leadership. Instead of being a change agent, I was an impediment.
My own cautionary tale is unfortunately a common one. Well meaning people with 2 day certifications can do a lot of damage to a new scrum team. Attendees will learn about the difficulties of becoming a scrum master, how scrum team members need to embrace the scrum values to promote healthy team practices, and that even certified scrum masters can lose their way.
How many times have you heard the Development team recite the 3 questions every morning and still fail to finish the sprint? Daily Scrum is an avenue for the team to synchronise and not give a status update. And when a team understands the value of the Daily Scrum, it can help drive the sprint’s success. During this session, we will introduce participants to some tools to achieve this.
This day is all about the “Agile Mindset”, but what about the “Kanban Mindset?” What’s the same and what is different? Kanban is certainly consistent with the “Agile Mindset,” but also brings in concepts from Lean and other management approaches.

Kanban is a Lean-agile method also referred to as a second-generation agile methodology. It adapts to your organization and project needs very rapidly and allows your team to operate at a very high level of productivity due to its evolutionary approach to manage change in the organization. It has proven to accelerate maturity through high visualization, control over the amount of work being done, acknowledgement and effective handling of the diversity of activities in your project, and root cause analysis through quantification.

OKR's for Agile Coaches - group brainstorming presentationThene Sheehy
This presentation was created for the Agile Connect group in Portugal, for the July 8, 2020, virtual meetup via Zoom. The original question in a job interview was, "What should be the OKR's for Agile Coaches?" The prompted me to consider how to best answer, and generated this group brainstorming session via Zoom rooms and a Miro board.
Five Steps to a More Agile Organization: Adopting Agility at ScaleLitheSpeed
While agile methods have become mainstream, agile organizations have not. Perhaps several development teams have had great results from a method like Scrum, but as soon as you begin to scale the effort up, the inertia of a fundamentally waterfall-oriented organization becomes painfully apparent. This is where many companies find themselves today. This webinar will address some key tips to driving agility beyond technology groups and making an entire company more adaptive and responsive.
Lean IT provides transparency.
Avoids the old games between development and business.
Shows how business and development processes do not have to be poles apart.
Are you deploying lean through your department or organization, but have hit some roadblocks?
Are you considering lean as the solution to your business challenge, but aren’t sure where to begin?
Are you just curious as to what lean is all about?
In this 1-hour webinar from LeanCor Training and Education, we’re break away from the traditional presentation format and host a live Q&A session on all things lean with our panel of Lean Deployment Executives.

LuxoftAgilePractice

LuxoftAgilePractice

Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.

What is Kanban?
Kanban is a method of organizing and managing professional services work. It uses Lean concepts
such as limiting work in progress to improve results.
A Kanban system is means of limiting work-in-progress and signaling when capacity is available to
start new work. This is known as a “pull system.”
For intangible goods — invisible work performed by knowledge workers — it is necessary to
visualize a kanban system using a kanban board. The board can visualize the work, its workflow,
the kanban system, plus various business and delivery risks. Kanban facilitates complex handling of
the work and allows real control of the workload.
