Due to Malaria India spent $ 506.82
Millions to $ 630.82 millions from 1990 to
1993.
India spent up to 25% of its health budget
from 1977 to 1997 and starting in 1997
India planned to spent $40 Millions on
malaria control, 60% increase from the
previous year.
70-80% of the malaria control money in
India is spent on insecticides (1998)

10. • On the basis of the statistics we can
conclude that we are losing a lot of money
from the exchequer on preventing the
spread of malaria through insecticides.
Instead we can use the same money for
preventive measures such as introducing
new vaccines, medicines , providing good
hospital facilities, sanitation, public
awareness programmes etc.
