2. Process: Recording the Sound Of Atmosphere
Before I create my final product,
I need to test out what is best
background sound atmosphere
for the vocals of the characters.
So, I took my phone into a
college room and corridor and
recored the natural sound of the
atmosphere for 20 seconds.
Once that was done, I then
exported the sounds from my
phone to laptop via Airdrop.
Overall, I found this procedure
rather useful because I needed
to get an idea of what the
atmosphere in the background
should sound like when it comes
to recording the vocals for my
characters.
3. Process: Analysing the Sounds
Next, I upload the sounds to my
iMovie app, and extracted the sound
form the clips as the videos are not
viable for the experiment. I then ran
through and took the differences of
both recordings and recorded the
observations onto another
powerpoint for further detail. After
looking at the sound waves of the
recordings, I came to the conclusion
that sound recording one, which is in
a silent room is the best atmosphere
for the vocal recordings. Overall, I
found this analysis very useful
indeed because the different waves
game me a good idea of what I am
looking for when it comes to the
actual production.
4. Reflection
What elements with you use from this
experiment when you work on your final
product?
After the observation and analysis, I will be
using the atmosphere of sound recording
number one for the vocals of the
characters. Therefore, I will ask all my cast
to record their vocals in a quiet area and
send the results to me. Therefore, the
atmosphere in the background is not so
distracting from the main audio in the
foreground.
