2. Premiere Pro
• Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing software
application based around a timeline of clips or footage. It
is part of the Adobe Creative Suite, a suite of graphic
design and video editing.
• We used Premiere pro and created our opening product
for our media coursework and we learnt how to edit and
create effects on top of our product, such as day to night.
Which makes the day look as though it is night time so
you can still see all of the detail that you would see in the
day.
3. Logic Pro
• Logic Pro is a digital audio workstation and MIDI
sequencer software application which is used for musical
editing and creating on macs.
• I created the music which went over the top of our product
from using the apple loops which had been created for
logic pro and created a full two minute opening music
sequence. I learnt this from my music technology lessons
and incorporated it which my media lessons so that we
could create an effective soundtrack for our final product.
4. After Effects
• Adobe After Effects is a digital motion graphics, visual
effects which we used to create our title sequence for our
crime thriller opening. After Effects is used in the post-
production process of filmmaking and television
production. Its main uses are the origination of 2D visual
effect.
• We used this to create our titles, which we wanted and
made them look like type writing just like other crime
entertainment such as NCIS/CSI.
5. Camera Use
• We had to learn how to use the camera properly which is
why we had to take an initial camera safety test to insure
we knew how to use them properly and safely.
• We had to take our cameras off of the college site to
create our film which we had to write a safety evaluation
to take them out.
• We understood how to use the cameras effectively and
we had efficient and effective footage to go in our opening
by the end of the shoot.
6. Music Techniques
• Using Logic Pro I used tonal sounds and moderately slow
paced music yet intense music to create the effect of
danger and panic in our opening. I had to cut down and
edit different sounds so they sounded right and so that
they we the right length for the piece and so that the
sounds would correspond with the footage. I made the
tonal chiming sounds come in where there were flashes in
and out of our actresses flashback so we could know
when the flashback was happening.
7. Editing Techniques
• Throughout our time using Premiere Pro when creating
our product, I have learnt how to put all of the footage
together along the timeline and then cut down and cut out
footage that we don need. I have learnt how to put the
footage in the right places to make the product look
effective, and we used different camera shots and angles
to create the cut ins and cut aways to show different
perspectives of our product.
• We also used colour correction so that in every shot the
colour was equal to every other, and as I said on a
previous slide we learnt how to use and used the day to
night effect.
