1. Tell me in no more than 20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
I will be makinga shortstop motion animation
called Desktop Diaries, which is a short film
showingthe life of talking stationary upon a
desktop.
Why have you decided to makeit? I decided to makethis animation because I was
keen to expand my animation skills, and also, helps
evolve the genre of entertainment animation and
make the topicof fun and laughter more appealing
within the world of animation. AlsoI want to
spread the word of laughteracross children and
are themsomethingthatthey will enjoy for a long
time.
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
This project is important tome because it gives me
an opportunity todevelop my skills into a bigger
level. Also, animation (more specifically stop
motion)has been somethingI have been fond of
for years ever since I will little, and the biggest
influence onmy work is the work of Aardman
Animations, whosework goes beyond anything
anyonehasever seen.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
Mostof the initial influences of my work revolve
around the art of stop motion animation, as well
as somerof Aardman’s work. I amhopingto
analyse, within my research, the existing products
such as Creature Comforts, Morph etc. in order to
obtain a good idea of how I would want my
animation to look and turn out. I will also collect
other people’s opinions upon animation asa whole
and use it to draw facts and inspirations towards
my work in order to make it successful.
What effect do you want to haveon youraudience
when they see yourproject?
I am hopingthatthe effect onthe audience will
have a funny after effect because the goal of my
animation is to make it funny andentertaining, soI
will include elements such as funny punchlines and
comments in order to makeeveryone laughand
cry with giggles.

2. Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which production techniques/characteristics are
you employing?]
These are the following elements I wish to include
within my product:
Tone: The overall tone I am aimingto create within
my video is a tone of fun and brightmixture of
colours because since I amaiming for this to be a
family friendly video, I will create anatmosphere
of family funand entertainment with a nice simple
setting in order to makethe tone light hearted.
Mood:The mood within my video I amhopingfor
is a mixture of light anddark moods, because
some of my characters are happy, and someare
not, such as one of my m mostpro-dominant
characters Stan the stapler is a more depressed
character, whilst other like Graphy the pencil, are
more neutral andhappy, soI am hopingtocreate
a mixture in mood.
Style: I will use the styleof stop motion and
claymation to makethe overall styleof the video,
butthe majority of the objects used within this
video are real stationary andthatthe eyes and
mouths are made outof plasticine in order to
create a kid friendly appearance.
Techniques:I will usesimple frame by frame
techniques upon camerawork to create a smooth
and even animation that should run just fine, and
thatthe mouth movements will follow the mouth
movements nicely.
Characteristics: The characteristics that will be
present within my animation are all based of real
emotions such as depression and relax andtaking
it cool feelings, in order to create one unique
collection of emotions for everyoneto enjoy.
Why have you decided to makeyour project in this
style?
I havedecided tomake my productin thisstyle
because I found that animation is a good source of
entertainment, andhopefully thatwill reflect
nicely in my primary research. Also, I really would
like tokeep the industry of stop motion going and
to showeveryone and it is still a unique part of life
and that it is amazingto venture.
