Many secondary schools are beginning to question the impact that a school schedule has on student
learning. Some schools are trying innovative schedules designed to provide choice and variety for

Master and Man by Leo Tolstoy is a story that explores the dynamics between a peasant, Nakita and
his master,Vasillii Andriech. Andriech foolishly risks both of their lives, when they venture to

and greed ultimately leads to his demise. At the end of the story Nikitadies and is denied the same
bliss that Vasillii Andreich experiences in death; in order to solidify the dichotomy between these
two men, demonstrate how Andriech cheated Nakita, and he uses Nakita s lackluster death to
amplify Andriech s extraordinary passing. Nikita and Vasillii Andriech are opposites in their
socioeconomic status and their character. Nikita is a helpful, compassionate, and prudent man;

I wished this poem had more showing, instead of telling, such as with the failed marriage and the
will to continue living. I think more specificity in your images, would eliminate both some of the
moments where the poem borders on cliche as well as the moments that distance the reader from
the snapshots. Personal details with make the poem stronger, and feel like the reader is in your
snapshot scenes.
The second note for revision I have for this poem is to think about the form. Right now the form isn
t particularly helping you, and in some places with the uneven spacing and unnecessary stanza

The racism against African Americans began in the 17th century, when the African slaves were
forcibly brought over by the British colonist to America. Even after slavery was outlawed, racism
and segregation was still present between the African American and White race. Many African
American activist fought and died for our equality such as Fredrick Douglas, Dr. Martin Luther
King, Malcom X, Rosa Parks, and Emmitt Teel. It is sad to say that even with all of the lives lost
during boycotts, and hate raids, racismstill does exist.
Elevated white power does exist. I do not say that to be in any way racial or prejudice. Although,
it is a known fact that the power of being white does exist even in modern day society. The
economic competition between a black man and a white man is unequal. The economic wages
given to a black man and a white man are unequal. The American dream for a black man and a
white man are in most ways different. That still does not change the fact that I would have to
break my back to get through school in order to receive a piece of paper saying I m capable,
when a white man education is paved for him. It is despicable to say that I have been taught to
accept that I have to work harder for what I want, when some people are just given what they desire
to have.
