There are various facets of the ailment that lots of people aren t even conscious of. ADD/ADHD is a
neurological problem which impacts the CNS, along with the inspirational system. ADD/ADHD
impacts two significant elements of the mind which are linked with all the capability to pay attention
along with the capability to modulate motor action. ADD/ADHD is due to a chemical imbalance in the
mind. There exists a lack in the brains capability to make neuro transmitters. ADD/ADHD is thought
to be hereditary. Though many people consider it one, ADD/ADHD isn t a learning disability.
ADD/ADHD changes a man s efficiency in college environment, as well as other aspects of life too.
Relationships with others, how well you arrange your chamber and properties, and the way you keep
track of your financing are several other regions impacted by ADD/ADHD. Alternately, you might
have already been in a position to pay for the outward symptoms of ADD/ADHD when you re young,
only to run into issues as your obligations increase when you get older. The more balls you are
wanting to keep in the air, pursuing a profession, raising a family, managing a home, the greater the
need on your own skills to arrange, concentrate, and stay composed. This could be challenging for
anybody, but in individuals who have ADD/ADHD, it might feel utterly hopeless. Quite simply, the
patient s mind is much like a light always going on and off at the worst possible times.

CRITICAL REFLECTION ON PRACTICING PUBLIC HEALTH LEADERSHIP COURSE
I have been involve in different leadership roles during my professional and personal experience but
after attending this course of practicing leadership and public health course, I have enhanced my skills
in various perspective which would be helpful for my personal and professional growth. The content
of the course provided me the opportunity to explore more about my personal and professional
strengths and weakness with the perspective of leadership. I have realized the importance of the strong
leadership in all aspects of the life when I had written my biopic for this course required by the
facilitators. It was great experience to reflect on my own achievements and accomplishment by
interlinking with new learned skills and education.
On the very first day, I was overwhelmed and excited because I was going to learn from two great
mentors. I was also excited to share my previous practicing leadership skills with other group
members although I have greatly sharpened my leadership skills according to the framework provided
by the facilitators on the first day. I had been provided different opportunities to demonstrate the
leadership skills in my professional and personal life and I fulfilled the criteria according to that
situation however, this course highlighted some gaps, which needs to be addressed in my future
implications.

Analysis Of Mean Girls
Teen girl films are Janus like in nature, being aimed at teen girls themselves, but also at opening up
the world of teen girls to their parents and society at large. The marketing for Mark Water s 2004 film
Mean Girls reflects this divided focus, using a two pronged approach to attempt to attract the largest
range of paying customers. On an aesthetic level, from the appearance of the promotional website to
the music used in the trailers, the film tries is aimed at teenage girls. However, on a less superficial
level, the high brow humor used in the promotional videos and the written content of the website, is
aimed at adults. Mean Girls is praised for success in spite of genre, and the praise is focused it s satire
and humor. This is indicative of a larger trend in views on teen girl films. A real teen girl s life may
revolve around passing midterms or trying to fit in at school, but a film about those struggles must
views those struggles with humor. The personal drama in the lives of teenage girls isn t taken seriously
by this film or it s marketing, and critics and studios don t think it should be. At first glance, the
theatrical trailer for Mean Girls fulfills all clichés the high school or teen girl genre. Our protagonist,
Cady, is the new girl school, who s been homeschool her entire life. Her new nerdy friends explain all
the cliques of the school to her, including an introduction to each member of the most popular group.

The Importance Of Positive Relationships With Students
In alliance with Maslow s hierarchy of needs, students need positive relationships to be successful in
the classroom. It is important for students to feel important and needed in the classroom. Students
need to be able to identify and see their purpose needed in the classroom, as well as their purpose as a
student. As students identify their purpose in the classroom, they are able to feel supportive in the
classroom. This allows for positive bonds to form and for students to become fully engaged in the
classroom experience. Teachers have the opportunity to provide students with an inclusive, positive,
and enjoyable experience, and failure to do this will cause negative effects on the students socially and
academically. In a study conducted by Marzano, Marzano, and Pickering, positive teacher student
relationships build the foundation for classroom management (Jones Jones, 2016, p.52). It is almost
impossible for a teacher to manage a class without a positive relationship with the students. Students
who do not have a positive relationship with a teacher will not follow rules or obey the teacher. Ways
to establish positive relationships with students include, providing them with a safe space, respect,
showing care, and being culturally competent. Being culturally competent is an essential to build a
positive relationship with students. Gallagher cites Students in high poverty urban schools may benefit
from positive teacher student relationships even more than students in

Behind the Watergate Scandal Essay
On June 17, 1972, five burglars broke into the offices of the Democratic National Committee located
inside the Watergate Hotel in Washington. Frank Wills, a night security guard, discovered that the
break in was occurring. Several office doorknob cylinders were covered with masking tape to hold the
doors open (McConnell 11). As soon as Wills made this discovery, he telephoned the police. The five
burglars, carrying electronic gear and photographic equipment, were arrested on site at 2:30 A.M.
They were suspected of illegal wire tapping. This series of arrests sparked the beginning of what came
to be known as the Watergate Scandal. The Watergate Scandal caused several events to occur such as a
huge investigation, Nixon winning the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reporters also revealed that John Mitchell had controlled a secret fund for financing political
spying and dirty tricks to weed out the presidential candidates of the Democratic Party. Due to those
dirty tactics, Nixon was reelected on November 7, 1972. However, on February 7, 1973, with
questions still remaining regarding the president s knowledge of the Watergate affair, the Senate voted
to establish the Senate Watergate Committee, which was charged with investigating the extent of
campaign abuses in the 1972 presidential election (McConnell 12). McCord, under oath before the
Senate Watergate Committee, testified that Jeb Magruder, former Nixon aide, and White House
counsel John Dean both were aware of the plans to bug the headquarters of the Democratic National
Committee. He also stated Mitchell had approved the plans. FBI Director L. Patrick Gray resigned
after he confessed, on April 20, 1973, that he destroyed Watergate evidence because he was pressured
by Nixon s aides. On June 25, Presidential counsel John Dean testified that Nixon had been paying the
five burglars and two operatives whom were involved in planning the Watergate break in hush money.
A Nixon aide testified on July 13 that Nixon taped all of his conversations and telephone calls on
hidden microphones installed in the Oval Office. The Committee subpoenaed the tapes. Nixon refused
to hand them over. The tapes became the primary focus of a year long

Friendship In Ship Breaker
Friendship is building relationships and creating a mutual agreement. Within the novel Ship Breaker,
friendship is portrayed as staying true to one s word and being loyal to one another. It is through
loyalty and compassion that the characters in the novel Ship Breaker demonstrate the importance of
friendship. Loyalty plays an immeasurable role in the character s lives. Blue Eyes (Richard s worker)
shows that she is loyal to Richard (Nailer s father) by giving her life to follow Richard s orders. Nailer
is being watched by Blue Eyes, They need to get away from their captors... Sadna pulled him away

Sadna shows compassion to Nailer when she saves his father from the hurricane. Nailer pleads to
Sadna, My dad, he waved back at his own shack. (Bacigalupi 63). By bringing Nailer s father to safety
Sadna expresses sympathy upon Nailer as he cannot save his father alone as he is not strong enough.
This builds a very true friendship that Nailer feels he needs to preserve, to repay Sadna for her actions.
Sadna saves Richard although she may not particularly like him but she is a very good friend of Nailer
s and does it for him. Nailer displays compassion to Nita as she is on the verge of death. Nailer
convinces Pima not to kill her, Don t do it Pima... Don t kill her, hell all right. (Bacigalupi 97).
Through Nailer s act of compassion towards Nita they build a very strong friendship. Nailer persuades
Pima that killing her will not get them anything and it s not the just thing to do. The two go on to
traveling and escaping the island0 together and trust each other with their lives. Nailer s actions of
compassion show to Nita that he cared about her and she in turn built a very devoted friendship.
Richard displayed compassion towards Nailer even though he was displeased with him. Richard

The Psalms Function As A School Of Prayer
Introduction
For almost two thousand years, the Psalms were essential to the devotional practice of the Christian
church, teaching the believer to pray in response to the living God, a confession of praise and glory to
the Almighty God. Thus, when the contemporary church thus that she is joining a large group of
people that for nearly thirty centuries based their prayers and worship in those ancients words. In
Eugene H. Peterson s view, there is no other place where can be seen such a deeply and detailed form,
of the human dimension in the Bible history as in the Psalms.
The aim of this paper is to analyze how the Psalms should be used in the church today. For that, this
study is divided into three parts: First, the Psalms and Prayer, where will be discussed how the book of
Psalms function as a school of prayer. Second, Christians and the use of the Psalms, in this topic will
be highlighted how Christians can find Jesus in the Psalms. Finally, putting into practice is a topic that
will explain the value and the need of using the Psalm in the church.
The Psalms and Prayer
The Psalter was the school that Israel and the church appealed to learn how to pray, which along with
Isaiah was the most cited book by Jesus and the apostles in the New Testament. For the first Christians
the rules were, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms. Thus, as their Jewish
fathers listened to the Word of God through the Psalms its instructions and laments

Art Talk Concert Report
I attended an Art Talk platform event, led by an artist driven nonprofit organization called New
Orleans Airlift . The interpretation was done by Brenda Prudhom who is nationally certified with her
NIC, and the other interpreter was a student intern. Upon arriving to the event, I realized the
interpreter wasn t interpreting until the event officially started. So when the presenters were walking
around the front talking about when the event will start, she was not interpreting any of that. She
informed me, this is because those conversations were private and the event also had not begun yet.
Also, there was only one Deaf person at the event, and they didn t show up until about half way

exactly being provided when Brenda was signing, because I was sitting directly behind her. So, I was
unable to see her hands. After the intern interpreted for about 10 or 15 minutes, Brenda switched with
him and she began to interpret. I noticed Brenda kept good eye contact with the audience as a whole,
while she was signing her eyes were not looking all over the place. However, once the Deaf individual
entered late, she completely focused her attention onto him, which I think was a great thing to do. At
one point during the presentation, the presenter was speaking about transgender individuals and I
noticed that Brenda used the old sign for transgender (X hand shape on cheek, twisting motion). I have
been told that some people may take offense to that old sign now, and what is now acceptable is to
sign the new sign (comes from BEAUTIFUL, on the inside). When I asked her about this, she let me

In the novel, The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch with Jeffrey Zaslow, Pausch recalls painting his

favorite books, movies, or important historical figures. For example, Mahatma Gandhi s quote, Be the
change you wish to see in the world, is a quote that I have to remember to follow when I am afraid to
become a leader and change what needs to be changed in life. Basically, the quotes would be up on the
wall just so I can look at them everyday for inspiration, or when I need them when I hit rock bottom.
In addition, I would paint on all the ideas and hobbies

Scott Russell Sanders Under The Influence Summary
Scott Russell Sanders wrote Under the Influence, a memoir depicting his alcoholic father whose many
drunk dysfunctional states affected his life. Whose haunting demons from his death leaves Sanders
with a guilt that, ...burns like acid in my veins, (252) in certain moods. Like Sanders, I was left feeling
anxious and guilty after the knowledge of Daniel s, my older brother, diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes in

health made me more concerned, leaving him to feel like a burden. I did not understand how awful
this diagnosis was and what we had to change, as a family, for the good of his life. Daniel stayed in
the hospital for four days and was completely out of it; having no sense of his surroundings. In Under

Dementia is a disease that has been characterized as a deficiency of permanent memory which leads to
a decrease in recent memory that can interfere with the ability to engage in professional and social

Title : The relationship between the temperature and the rate of reaction in a chemical reaction.
Introduction : Last academic year, towards the end, in IB chemistry hl class, my class had the chance
to learn about the concentration, temperature, catalysts, etc and their effects on the rate of reaction in a
chemical reaction. I knew that the rate of reaction had a relationship with the factors but I wanted to

it actually is like. This IA is potentially an opportunity for me to test my understanding on the topic

Research Question :
How does one determine the activation energy through the relationship between the temperature and
the rate of a said reaction?
Background Information : Rate of reaction in its most basic definition is the speed at which the
reaction takes place. The rate of reaction can be calculated by using
Rate of Reaction = Molestime of reaction
Collision Theory : In order for atoms/molecules/ions to react, they must collide with each other, the
rate of reaction is directly proportional to the collision frequency. The greater the number of collisions,
the faster the reaction will take place.
Activation Energy : For these collisions to take place and the reactions to happen, a minimum amount
of kinetic energy must be possessed by the particles that are going to collide with each other. This
minimum amount of energy required to initiate a

My Strengths And Weaknesses Of Leadership
There are many forms and styles of leadership. There are leaders in schools, churches, homes, and
leaders in communities. There are even sometimes leaders within a friend group. Leaders are unique
because of the qualities they possess. The course Black Women Developing Public Leadership Skill is
a great course to help prepare any young black woman for a bright future as a leader. As a result of the
course I have been able to view leadership in different ways than I have before. I have learned that
every leader has their own strengths and weaknesses. Often times leaders receive praise and are
looked up to for everything that they are good at doing. People usually forget or ignore weaknesses in
a leader until the leader lets its audience down.
I have learned my strengths and my weaknesses as a leader. I have learned that some of my strengths
during public speaking are being confident, relaxed, and being able to articulate my points very well. I
learned that my weakness was not including as much detail as I could have. During the rest of this
course and in the future I plan to make a conscious effort to make sure that I not only provide details,
but that I make sure that I provide enough details for other people to understand all that I am saying or
doing when I am being a leader. Now that I am fully aware of my strengths and weaknesses I can
practice them and grow throughout the duration of the course

How Did Buddy Holly Influence Popular Music
Even Though Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly are both singer/song writers, their journeys have taken
them down completely different paths. One has had a long career in the industry and the other has
unfortunately has had a short career. Both have had wonderful and successful lives and are still well
known for what they accomplished with their music. Buddy Holly played rock n roll for a few short
year but the music he recorded in that time has made a major and forever lasting impact on popular
music. Not only did he write his own music, but he was also the first to exploit advanced studio
techniques such as double tracking, (rockhall.com). Bob Dylan on the other hand is a recognized poet
laureate of the rock n roll era and the pre eminent singer/songwriter of modern times. No matter if he
is singing topical folk songs, exploring rootsy rock and blues, or delivering one of his abstract,
allegorical compositions, he is always demonstrating a rare ability to reach listeners with his lyrics,
(rockhall.com).
Buddy Holly was born on September 7th, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas. His birth name was Charles Hardin
Holley, he is the youngest out of four children. He got the name Buddy from his mother, who felt his
birth name was too big for a young boy. Holly learned to play the piano and the fiddle when he was
pretty young, and his brothers taught him how to play the guitar. After Buddy graduated High School,
he formed a band that played country and western songs on the radio. He occasionally

The Impact of Outsourcing on the U.S. Economy Essay
It is difficult to determine whether offshore outsourcing has a positive or negative effect on the U.S.
economy. It may actually depend on which perspective you take on it. As stated by Hira and Hira
(2005), outsourcing in the services sector is a major shift in how the economy operates and will have
serious impacts, both positive and negative, on the trajectory of economic growth, distribution of
income and the workforce. However, there are many factors to take into account when considering
globalization. Companies must familiarize themselves with the various rules and regulations of global
business, tariffs, trade agreements and barriers, and decide how to go global; global consistency or
local adaptation. All of these issues affect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the U.S. economy may also benefit if companies reinvest the extra profits gained from
outsourcing for expansion in the U.S. This creates more jobs at home, but again, this is a long term
effect of outsourcing and depends on how successful that business is overseas. Exporting presents
many advantages including reduced dependency on home market sales and greater control over
research, design and production decisions. Conversely, many exported goods are subject to tariff or
nontariff barriers and transportation costs that may substantially increase the final cost to consumers
(Williams, 2009.) Some companies stand to benefit from exporting. Large U.S. based organizations
are strongly in favor of their companies free ability to export U.S. jobs and have no interest in taking
responsibility for the consequences to their employees. Basically, this means that the CEOs,
executives and shareholders support offshore outsourcing because they stand to gain from rising
profits and stock prices while employees here at home are losing their jobs to free trade and
offshoring. The U.S. is in a period of transition in which many companies have just discovered the
benefits of outsourcing, so they are anxiously scrambling to substitute cheaper foreign labor for
American labor. The direct transfer of work overseas is growing much faster than the

material. However, the CuO has low emission efficiency (CuO is not a fluorescent material) so there is
a lack of luminescence data for copper oxide. Furthermore, recent theoretical calculations indicate that
although Cu vacancies are the most stable defects in CuO, they do not introduce new states within the

Hexadecimal Company
The Hexadecimal Company Case Analysis pg, 167
I. Problems A. Macro The Hexadecimal Company in recent years was forced to change their product
market due to lower labor costs by companies in competition. With this change of product came rapid
growth and systemic problems within the company. The President, John, Zoltan, decided to created an
Organizational Development (OD) group to help address change and managerial style within the
company. However, this OD group was not accepted well within the organization and many felt as
though this group was a waste of time, energy and resources. Employees did not want to participate in
the training although forced to attend. In the beginning of the group s development, the ... Show more

There was true evidence that the OD group was truly diverse in individuality and openness simply
characterized by the groups dress habits. Perhaps these traits would have been more easily disguisable
if the group was forced to a dress code while at work. Displaying ones attire could show an impression
of laziness, sloppiness, or not caring about what the is there to achieve, perhaps the division of the
groups beliefs stems from this complacent dress code leading the group to misunderstandings.
II. Causes 1. The Hexadecimal Company.
Causes
Company culture is not one to implement changes in such fast pace
Zoltan s seems to show favoritism towards members of the OD group. The decision to place the OD
program under the human resources department
III. Systems affected The sociotechnical system and managerial subsystem are affected due to the
changes occurring within the company. An example of these changes is the hiring of all the individuals
within the new OD group. The technical subsystem has been affected by the recent introduction of
new products within the company due to competitive companies. The structural subsystem has been
affected since the OD group started training company employees on management styles. The
psychosocial subsystem was affected when the employees had dislike towards the OD group and the
training that had been developed. Also, the OD group

Hopefuls Display Differences On Education
Education today is one of the utmost important possessions people cling on to, and lately has been a
major topic in debate. Parents want to ensure that their children are brought up in a school system that
provides not only the tools to become successful in the education aspect of their lives, but a well
structured system that provides the course work to do so as well, in which giving everyone an equal
chance to succeed. The common core procedures, that schools are expected to abide to, were thought
to be the answer to this call for equality in education. However, some political entities believe that it is
not the place for the government to invest its power in, that it should be left to state or even local level
governments (Rich, 2015). Some states have even chosen to go back to their own standards because of
the great division on the issue (Rich, 2015).
In a New York Times article titled, G.O.P. Hopefuls Display Differences on Education, by Motoko
Rich, different takes on education of certain politicians are discussed. Former Florida Governor, Jeb
Bush, who is currently in the presidential race for 2016, believes in annual standardized tests for
public school students (Rich 2015). Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker believes that powers over

American core values of individualism and equality both have a stake in the education of Americans.
This is individualism as in the right to seek out personal initiative and self sufficiency, which is often
referred to as our desire to gain economic independence, and for the other, equality, it is stated as the
notion that all individuals are equal in their moral worth and thereby entitled to equal treatment under
the law, (Patterson, 2013, p. 10). This can stand for the equal treatment and opportunities that students
should be given in public schools, which would require equal coursework and examinations

The Problem of Domestic Violence
When I was exiting Yellowstone National Park, the park ranger at the post asked me what I was doing
in Jackson Hole. I explained to him that I was there for the Annual Domestic Violence Conference and
he said to me We have that problem here? I told him, That problem is everywhere and actually one in
three women will face abuse in one way or another in their lifetime. I had just learned all of this
information from attending this event. I started my role as a Victim Advocate only four days previous
to this day. I was not aware of the complete picture of domestic violence but I could relate this
phenomena in being part of this statistic. Many people ask me different questions, yet they all are the
same, Does that really happen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these children or adults are not aware of the problem and they see it as the way it is supposed
to be. They hurt and they can t figure out why, they don t think they are worthy of being in a healthy
relationship and they don t have self esteem to believe in themselves. These victims become an outcast
within their own families if they break the mold in which they were born! Many victims are not aware
that there are places to turn for help. Society has not been very supportive of victims partially because
society does not know how to approach the matter. Here in our community we have had a black cloud
over the center which is slowly letting rays of sunshine in. It has taken a few years for our community
as a whole to realize the purpose we serve in being a center for domestic violence. Still there are
negative emotions which are hard to overcome. I know that I was not even given the opportunity to
talk with a Victim Advocate when I was abused and it wasn t until a recent change in victim s rights
for police to give victims a Victim referral sheet. It is a law in Wyoming to have centers with trained
Victim Advocates in every county to serve this particular group of victims. It is also a law in Wyoming
that all people who witness or hear about abuse of another make a mandatory report to law
enforcement. One could even anonymously report abuse to

Physical space can inform researchers on how people interact with that space, and influence social
behavior. Applied anthropologists have a very important tool in their practitioner s toolkit that allows
them to disseminate behavior, actions, and help create spaces that will meet the needs of the
population using ethnography. Ethnography allows practitioners to use their observational skills to
improve the design of a product, landscape, environment, or assist with an infrastructural design based
on the needs of the individuals that will access such facilities (Rijsberman 2012). To do so, it is
extremely important to know the impact of physical surroundings and environmental behavior and
understand that environments have a strong influence on people s interaction with the physical
landscape.
The chapters assigned for this week focused on observing physical spaces and observing
environmental behavior. It is important to observe physical traces, physical surroundings, which
display how people interact with other individuals and that environment (Zeisel 2006). One of the big
topics of chapter 8 was how individuals change their environment to meet their needs. For example,
this can be observed when individuals create their own walkway or path. Around San Jose State there

Hawthorne effect basically means those that are being observed for research will change the way they
act (Zeisel 2006). Researchers involved in various projects need to understand that individuals will
change the way they act if they know they are being observed. This can affect the data one receives so
it is important to consider in data analysis. It is particularly important to understand such effect on the
people that are being observed and mitigate the impact by being inconspicuous as possible and

Why Is Absolutism Absolute
Introduction
Absolutism could be defined as a form of monarchy that the monarch has absolute power in his
sovereignty. This form based on the divine rights absolute monarch acquired power from God and was
image of God in earth. According to these definitions, absolutism seems to be absolute, however, this
essay will argue that the absolutism was not absolute to a certain extent. The first part of this essay
will theoretically explain absolutism , which was exaggerated by some scholars. There were
limitations of absolute power in theory. This essay will mainly use John Locke s ideas to illustrate it.
In the second part, this essay will demonstrate how absolute power constrained in practice. Different
powerful groups in feudal formation and the power of church were two major limitations on kings
power. In addition, European Enlightenment and the growth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Firstly, the inflexible feudal formation limited the development of absolutism. The majority of
European society based on feudalism and the king gained his power with the support of the nobility.
Therefore, nobility, urban bourgeoisie and other interests group still played roles in political system.
The power of territorial estates has been considered as a determining factor of the extent of absolute
power. In addition, the church, as a strong institution, had prerogative of exempting from regular royal
tax. There was also conflict between the king and the pope, who was also said to be chosen by God as
a leader of Catholic Church. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the ideas of Enlightenment
spread across Europe, which led to huge changes of European absolutism. With the decline of religion,
absolute powers came from Divine Right became weaken, and the king was more likely to be first
servant of state. Then, with the development of constitutionalism, absolute monarchy was pushed

My intense desire to travel this planet overwhelms me everyday. By travel I do not mean going to a
resort that cost $1000 a night in the Bahamas where one gets a fruit platter decorated in a shape of a
smiley face delivered to their door every morning (although that doesn t sound too bad). I am talking
about experiencing the real world, various environments with diverse cultures. How can I reach my
full potential without ever leaving the filtered bubble of New England? As of now I am colorblind; I
see the world in black and white. I am waiting for the day that I finally experience the explosion of
color that the world is. From La Tomatina, an annual tomato fight in Valencian, Spain to more
disturbing traditions like the Mourning of Muharram where Shia Muslims attach knives to whips and

I try to make the most out of all the advantages that I am so fortunate to have. The schooling system,
for example, is known to be one of the best in Massachusetts. I took the opportunity explore the large
selection of classes that my school has to offer. A class like Introduction to Medicine made me
nervous at first because I wasn t sure if I would be able to handle learning about gruesome diseases
and injuries. However, the class made me realize that I was very interested in how the human body
works and that maybe I would want to do something in this field in my future. This led me to take
more science courses like forensics and environmental science. I decided that I wanted to try a non
science related class to expand my learning so I chose to take a class called World Religions. This
class intensified my desire for travel immensely by exposing me to cultures and places I have never
heard of. I thought about how both of these classes revealed to me what I truly am passionate for,
travel and science. I want to go see the world but at the same time know how it all

King Lear Leadership
The Study of king Lear lacks in the theme s of leadership and personal relationship. In the beginning
of the book, it seems to the reader, as if King Lear has a good relationship with his daughters and his
trusting friend, Kent. But as the reader goes further into the book, they realize that his personal
relationship with his daughters is lacking. King Lear first establishes this by, asking his daughters how
much they love him Tell me, my daughters, which of you shall we say doth love us most? (1.1.52)
King Lear is trying to find out which one of his daughters loves him the most so he knows how to
properly split his inheritance to his daughters, and this point, his daughters, Goneril and Regan, begin
to lie as all they want is land ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In my opinion, Human nature is something that everyone talks about but no one can define precisely.
Our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are produced not only by our individual experiences and
environment in our own lifetime but also by what happened to our ancestors years ago. Also, our
thoughts, feelings, and behavior are shared, to a large extent, by all men or women, despite seemingly
large cultural differences which causes hate, fights, and wars. In King Lear, he is treated very horrible
by his two daughters Goneril and Regan. They both neglect him and plot his death, which shows how
human nature works. The more power and money you have, the more you want, greed takes over. For
two daughters to plot their fathers death is brutal, I pray you, father, being weak, seem so (2.4.196).

Thesis Statement On The Panama Canal
Thesis
How much do you really know about the Panama Canal? It is the canal that runs through the Isthmus
of Panama and connects the two largest oceans on earth. Back in the nineteenth century some
engineers decided it was a good place to create that canal. Congress wanted to strategically build a
canal in central America but there was debate on where. However the debate was settled in 1904 when
Theodore Roosevelt and the United States took over the construction of the Panama Canal from the
French. They then supported a rebellion in Panama to separate from Colombia gaining the rights to
build the canal, which is one of the greatest engineering projects ever, and the most important canal in
the western world.
Background The Panama Canal was first conceived of in the 16th century by the Holy Roman
Emperor Charles V, after it was discovered that there was no natural water route through the Americas
(History.com). The Romans eventually decided that it was impossible to build a canal ... Show more

This project was doomed from the start because, first of all there wasn t enough surveying done so
Lesseps didn t realize that making a sea level canal was very unwise. Second, there was very poor
management. Many of the staff were not hired with the project in mind, and didn t know anything
about canal building. Many of the spots along the canal had to get re dug, causing huge budget
problems. The tropical climate also contributed to the failure. They had to clear rainforest, and pay
more to their employees to get them to work in the hot, sticky climate. They also had to worry about
the rust and corroding of their equipment. The diseases caused most of the deaths on the construction.
Yellow fever and malaria were the deadliest diseases. The population still believed that the diseases
were caused by bad air, so their efforts to stop the diseases were doomed from the

Picture this scenario: You are working in the emergency room of a public hospital where the inflow of
patients is higher than the available beds. You are treating an elderly man who is breathless and
cyanosed. While you assess whether he has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or heart failure, he
becomes drowsy and starts gasping. You quickly intubate him with some difficulty, prolonging his
period of hypoxia, and put him on ventilator support. You then get a phone call from a senior
consultant in the hospital that an important social activist is about to arrive with chest pain and will

Thus, emergency physicians cannot rely on earned trust or on prior knowledge of the patient s
condition, values, or wishes regarding medical treatment. The patient s willingness to seek emergency
care and to trust the physician is based on institutional and professional assurances rather than on an
established personal relationship. Fourth, emergency physicians practice in an institutional setting, the
hospital emergency department, and in close working relationships with other physicians, nurses,
emergency medical technicians, and other health care professionals. Thus, emergency physicians must
understand and respect institutional regulations and inter professional norms of conduct. Fifth, in the
United States, emergency physicians have been given a unique social role and responsibility to act as
health care providers of last resort for many patients who have no other feasible access to care. Sixth,
emergency physicians have a societal duty to render emergency aid outside their normal health care
setting when such intervention may save life or limb. Finally, by virtue of their broad expertise and
training, emergency physicians are expected to be a resource for the community in pre hospital care,
disaster management, toxicology, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, public health, injury control, and
related areas. All of these special circumstances shape the

Descriptive Essay On The Green Tree
A Visit
He pointed to the grove of trees beyond the dirt road. That s where your grandmother is from. Well,
where exactly? That one green tree or the green tree? She cracked a smile.
It all looked the same to her. The muddy people, the dirt roads and the sea of green. A cow passed by
on the dirt road, it s tail swishes back and forth like the orange glow of a cigarette. He didn t know
how to tell her that he didn t know, letting pride sit in place of false memories. They are going to kill
the cow today. The air is thick with muggy anticipation, her cousins gleeful looks accompanied with
the dog s bark. A stranger sat on the stoop, she was told it was her uncle. Why? She doesn t know what
he looks like anymore, a black shapeless form in place of a man.
To eat, of course. They glance at the concrete silo, eyes held wide by fear and anticipation. Early
morning, smoke would saturate the yard, interrupted by the quick flick of a lighter.
Maybe, if we crawl closer, we can get a better look. Back hunched, he would stare out into the well.
No, please. She can taste ash, see the cow eyes widen in fear and it s sinking into her chess. Why are
you crying? It s not useful anymore. It doesn t make any more milk. The ring of a phone interrupts
their daydreams. The hospital has forty beds aligned in one room. He s turned into a shade of yellow.
Did you know that he has a son?
No, dad, I didn t.
He has polio.
Oh, that still exists?
Hmm, I guess the alcohol and the cigarettes finally got him.
2. A New Baby They might have a new baby. They smile. They ve never noticed how they turn their

She hopes that the baby has time to see the sunrise in the jasmine blooms her grandmother strings.
Your grandmother has to go to the hospital. Her mother s voice is low again, a note of concern
creeping in. Her head to seems to hold a permanent furrow. Her grandmother s voice booms through
the halls, she s singing her name. Shalu, kai asai.
She hopes that the baby can hear her grandfather sing in a gruff voice as he completes his morning

The marketing for Mark Water s 2004 film Mean Girls reflects this divided focus, using a two pronged approach to attempt to attract the largest range of paying customers. On an aesthetic level, from the appearance of the promotional website to the music used in the trailers, the film tries is aimed at teenage girls. However, on a less superficial level, the high brow humor used in the promotional videos and the written content of the website, is aimed at adults. Mean Girls is praised for success in spite of genre, and the praise is focused it s satire and humor. This is indicative of a larger trend in views on teen girl films. A real teen girl s life may revolve around passing midterms or trying to fit in at school, but a film about those struggles must views those struggles with humor. The personal drama in the lives of teenage girls isn t taken seriously by this film or it s marketing, and critics and studios don t think it should be. At first glance, the theatrical trailer for Mean Girls fulfills all clichés the high school or teen girl genre. Our protagonist, Cady, is the new girl school, who s been homeschool her entire life. • 6. The Importance Of Positive Relationships With Students In alliance with Maslow s hierarchy of needs, students need positive relationships to be successful in the classroom. It is important for students to feel important and needed in the classroom. Students need to be able to identify and see their purpose needed in the classroom, as well as their purpose as a student. As students identify their purpose in the classroom, they are able to feel supportive in the classroom. This allows for positive bonds to form and for students to become fully engaged in the classroom experience. Teachers have the opportunity to provide students with an inclusive, positive, and enjoyable experience, and failure to do this will cause negative effects on the students socially and academically. In a study conducted by Marzano, Marzano, and Pickering, positive teacher student relationships build the foundation for classroom management (Jones Jones, 2016, p.52). It is almost impossible for a teacher to manage a class without a positive relationship with the students. Students who do not have a positive relationship with a teacher will not follow rules or obey the teacher. Ways to establish positive relationships with students include, providing them with a safe space, respect, showing care, and being culturally competent. Introduction : Last academic year, towards the end, in IB chemistry hl class, my class had the chance to learn about the concentration, temperature, catalysts, etc and their effects on the rate of reaction in a chemical reaction. I knew that the rate of reaction had a relationship with the factors but I wanted to know how it changes witness it for myself. I wanted to perform an experiment for myself to see what it actually is like. This IA is potentially an opportunity for me to test my understanding on the topic and Research Question : How does one determine the activation energy through the relationship between the temperature and the rate of a said reaction? Background Information : Rate of reaction in its most basic definition is the speed at which the reaction takes place. The rate of reaction can be calculated by using Rate of Reaction = Molestime of reaction Collision Theory : In order for atoms/molecules/ions to react, they must collide with each other, the rate of reaction is directly proportional to the collision frequency. The greater the number of collisions, the faster the reaction will take place. Activation Energy : For these collisions to take place and the reactions to happen, a minimum amount of kinetic energy must be possessed by the particles that are going to collide with each other. This minimum amount of energy required to initiate a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One has had a long career in the industry and the other has unfortunately has had a short career. Buddy Holly played rock n roll for a few short year but the music he recorded in that time has made a major and forever lasting impact on popular music. As stated by Hira and Hira (2005), outsourcing in the services sector is a major shift in how the economy operates and will have serious impacts, both positive and negative, on the trajectory of economic growth, distribution of income and the workforce. However, there are many factors to take into account when considering globalization. Companies must familiarize themselves with the various rules and regulations of global business, tariffs, trade agreements and barriers, and decide how to go global; global consistency or local adaptation. All of these issues affect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, the U.S. economy may also benefit if companies reinvest the extra profits gained from outsourcing for expansion in the U.S. This creates more jobs at home, but again, this is a long term effect of outsourcing and depends on how successful that business is overseas. Exporting presents many advantages including reduced dependency on home market sales and greater control over research, design and production decisions. Conversely, many exported goods are subject to tariff or nontariff barriers and transportation costs that may substantially increase the final cost to consumers (Williams, 2009.) Some companies stand to benefit from exporting. Large U.S. based organizations are strongly in favor of their companies free ability to export U.S. jobs and have no interest in taking responsibility for the consequences to their employees. Basically, this means that the CEOs, executives and shareholders support offshore outsourcing because they stand to gain from rising profits and stock prices while employees here at home are losing their jobs to free trade and offshoring. The U.S. is in a period of transition in which many companies have just discovered the benefits of outsourcing, so they are anxiously scrambling to substitute cheaper foreign labor for American labor. The direct transfer of work overseas is growing much faster than the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is well known that the CuO is p type semiconductor which typically crystallizes into monoclinic structures and is defined by C26h (C2/c) space group. Three Raman active (Ag + 2Bg) and six IR active (3Au + 3Bu) optical modes are predicted by group theory for CuO. These normal lattice vibrations at the Γ point of the Brillouin zone are given on the basis of group theory by the equation (Siddiqui et al 2016 c): Γ= 4Au+5Bu+Ag+2Bg. Based on the reported zone center optical phonon frequencies in CuO observed vibrational spectra were assigning to the Raman active modes (Ag+2Bg) which peaks are located at 283.3cm 1, 329.8cm−1 ... Our results point out not only the size but also the morphology of the CuO nanocrystals affects the bandgap. It is quite observable from the figure 7b that SP0.10A exhibits the hogher absorption properties in the visible region. Bhaumik, et al 2016 [28] reported the increase in absorption is highly desirable for better efficiency of a solar cell. Therefore the SP0.10A sample exhibits the strongest absorbance and has a uniform flower shaped CuO crystal thus; we can say that the sample may be ideal solar absorbers. Photoluminescence spectroscopy is an important tool to study the optical properties of a semiconductor. Photoluminescence intensity may be directly correlated with the defect density in a fluorescent material. However, the CuO has low emission efficiency (CuO is not a fluorescent material) so there is a lack of luminescence data for copper oxide. Parents want to ensure that their children are brought up in a school system that provides not only the tools to become successful in the education aspect of their lives, but a well structured system that provides the course work to do so as well, in which giving everyone an equal chance to succeed. The common core procedures, that schools are expected to abide to, were thought to be the answer to this call for equality in education. However, some political entities believe that it is not the place for the government to invest its power in, that it should be left to state or even local level governments (Rich, 2015). Some states have even chosen to go back to their own standards because of the great division on the issue (Rich, 2015). In a New York Times article titled, G.O.P. Hawthorne Effect Ethnography Miguel Huerta Anth 232 Dr. English Lueck 3/14/17 Write up 4 (Design Chpt 8 9) Physical space can inform researchers on how people interact with that space, and influence social behavior. Applied anthropologists have a very important tool in their practitioner s toolkit that allows them to disseminate behavior, actions, and help create spaces that will meet the needs of the population using ethnography. Ethnography allows practitioners to use their observational skills to improve the design of a product, landscape, environment, or assist with an infrastructural design based on the needs of the individuals that will access such facilities (Rijsberman 2012). To do so, it is extremely important to know the impact of physical surroundings and environmental behavior and understand that environments have a strong influence on people s interaction with the physical landscape. The chapters assigned for this week focused on observing physical spaces and observing environmental behavior. It is important to observe physical traces, physical surroundings, which display how people interact with other individuals and that environment (Zeisel 2006). It is the canal that runs through the Isthmus of Panama and connects the two largest oceans on earth. Back in the nineteenth century some engineers decided it was a good place to create that canal. Congress wanted to strategically build a canal in central America but there was debate on where. However the debate was settled in 1904 when Theodore Roosevelt and the United States took over the construction of the Panama Canal from the French. They then supported a rebellion in Panama to separate from Colombia gaining the rights to build the canal, which is one of the greatest engineering projects ever, and the most important canal in the western world.
