Tax collection is an important source of revenue for New York State s local
governments. The revenue collected from taxes goes up to $1 billion annually [1],
but the amount was still low and the process of collection in Department of Taxation
and Finance (DTF) needed improvements. The DTF of New York State worked with
IBM to use prescriptive analytics in the development of a more effective approach to
tax collection. The system optimizes the collection procedures of agents with
appreciation to maximizing long term incomes, while taking into account the
complex dependencies among business needs, resources, and legal restrictions. A
tool for data visualization was also implemented that would provide DTF employees
with the means to view and act upon the tax collection data that was acquired. The
result was an increase in collections from delinquent payers of $83 million (8

My favorite toy when I was littler than I am now was a brown and white rocking
horse. I wasn t born to see it be given as a gift but for my baby shower my great
grandparents had giving my parents a rocking horse for me. I would be on the horse

1.0Introduction
This economic issues report will outline how the Australian aviation sector influences
both the Australian economy and the tourism industry. The report will also highlight
how the economic issues of employment, fuel consumption and environmental
challenges affect the Australian aviation sector and how these issues relate to the
economic principles of supply and demand. The report will briefly explain the
background of the Australian aviation sector; identify economic market trends and
current opportunities as well as highlight the potential challenges and issues within
the sector, relating them to the economic principles and finally discuss
recommendations for application to the outlined economic issues.
2.0Background Information on the Aviation Industry
Aviation is a major contributor to Australia s tourismindustry. As an island continent
with no land borders, Australia relies almost exclusively on air services to bring
international visitors to the country, with over 99 per cent of inbound tourists

for dating human biological remains to provide a detailed analysis of antiquity.

The tempo and volume gradually increase with the intention of raising the viewer s
heartbeat. This increase also gives the effect that whatever is moving through the
water is getting closer and speeding up. Then all of a sudden a dramatic picture,
from the shark s eye view appears, creeping through the weeds on the seabed. The
camera angle is very effective, as the audience moves through the weeds with the
shark. The dimly lit darkness of deep underwater which creates an unclear picture has
the effect of making the audience anxious as nobody knows what the shark is about
to find.
The instant that the picture appears, an abrupt increase in the tempo and the volume
of the music makes the viewer s heart leap. Amounting tension causes an adrenaline
rush and makes the viewer edgy. Suspense is created because the viewer knows that
something will happen but does not know when. When the music comes to a climax
a horn joins in with the cellos. Horns are generally associated with any kind of hunt
and although the audience doesn t yet know that the shark is after the girl the horn
adds to the overall nervousness of the atmosphere. As screeching, slashing violins can

High School Map I decided to sketch a map of Langley High School, which is the
high school I attended from 2011 2015 in McLean, Virginia. While I have lived on
the Colgate campus for almost two years, I find that I am not as familiar with
Colgate s campus due to its large scale compared to my high school campus. I
attended Langley for four years, and I often spent a majority of my days at school,
both during school hours and after for sport s practices and games. As a result, I
became very familiar with the layout of the campus, the function of different areas,

and was able to observe the school from an outside perspective. Through my
observations, I became aware of different aspects of Langley that I had not noticed

second floor, and the more relaxed feeling of the bottom floor was something I did

know about them. We still don t know much about them and there will always be
conspiracies about them, but we still need to find more information about them to

As the concentration was increased, from 0.5 M, to 1.0 M, to 1.25 M hydrochloric
acid, the time taken for 50mL of carbon dioxide to be produced significantly
decreased, and from 0.5 M to 1.25 M it decreased by around 12 seconds.
The original plan for this experiment included testing 2.0 M hydrochloric acid. We
tried using this concentration twice, and in the first time the reaction happened so
quickly the products started spilling out of the test tube before we could put the
rubber stopper on, which resulted in the time taken for 50mL of gas to be
produced in the inverted test tube to actually take longer. The result for this trial
was 38 seconds. The second time we tried using 2.0 M hydrochloric acid the rubber
stopper was placed on the test tube in time, however the time recorded for 50mL of
gas to be produced in the inverted test tube was still slower than results from less
concentrated acid, taking 25.29 seconds. This was due to some gas still escaping
through the top of the test tube, as well as the rate reaction being too quick for the
gas to travel through the connecting tube. We solved this problem by using 1.25 M
hydrochloric instead for the third concentration after 0.5 M and 1.0 M. The results

2). It was painted in 1931, and is an oil on canvas. The painting can be found at The
Museum of Modern Art in New York City, NY, with dimensions of 33 x 24.1 cm. La

Douglas was born in Brandon, Vermont in 1813, and raised in New England
(Capers, 1959, pg 5). His family could not afford for him to attend law school in
New England, so he went to Illinois, where anyone could practice law, even without

campaigned for the railroad to have a central route stop in Chicago (Capers, 1959,
pg 90). This is an example of Douglas selfishness because he had stock invested in
real estate in Chicago, and if the railroad was built going through Chicago, Illinois,
then Douglas would benefit financially. Douglas then pushed to organize the
Nebraska territory, so the railroad could reach from Chicago to places out on the
Pacific coast. The northerners favored the railroad going through this unorganized

felt didn t have their best interests at heart. William Ewart Gladstone, the British
Prime Minister in 1886, brought up this issue when introducing the first Home Rule
bill to the House of Commons. Because the law came to Irelandwith a foreign aspect,
and in a foreign garb , it didn t feel to the people to be truly Irish law or coming
from their needs. Because of this, even legislation with good intentions were met

women s rights, the Second wave feminism in the 1960s saw itself as a movement
that achieved great success in terms of women s social, economic, and political rights.
The Women s Rights Movement that began in the sixties, in comparison to the first
wave feminismin the 19th century whereas many activists focused on only women
s suffrage the second wave feminism dealt with a broader range of issues. From
education, the patriarchal system, sexual rights, and the workforce, to advocating
for reproductive rights and abortion, the Second wave feminism allowed women to
create more spaces for themselves. Yet, amidst the growing feminist movement, in
spite of it being more inclusive to women of color and other minority groups in
comparison to the first wave, the second wave feminism continued to see white
middle class women as the forefront of feminism. The second wave of feminism
brought both good and bad to the table. While they were able to pass things such as
the Equal Pay Act and ensured protection in Title 7 of the Civil Rights Act, the
movement was also flawed to the extent in which they failed to address
intersectionality an understanding of how oppressions of race, gender, class, and
sexuality were issues not isolated from one another and fell short in including the
voices of minority women in movements such as the Black and Chicana feminism.

though the imagery they use to express it is quite different. Both poems have the
theme of life goes on or life stops for no one. The difference in imagery is the
difference between the general and the specific. I believe that the theme of both
poems lies in the same vein, but they take different paths to its development. Auden
speaks more about society in general; then, he gives an interpretation of a painting as
an example. On the other hand, Nemerov expresses the theme through the life cycle

This really is not the case because they are both part of the same essential
experience. The only difference is the distance they have traveled down life s path.
While the aged are reverently, passionately waiting / For the miraculous birth . . . the
children go on about their play, thinking of all the days ahead while the aged sit
waiting and thinking about all the days behind. The only difference between the aged
and the children at this point in life is their perspective.
Instead of continuing on about the subtle differences in life, Auden goes back to
how life goes on everywhere no matter what. He moves out of the realm of people
