Fairy tales are more than what they seem. They are much more than children s
bedtime readings. Although, they aren t lengthy, they pack quite a lot of information
and leave room for interpretation. They reveal the truth of how the world can be
unfair and people can be cruel. Most fairy tales have been rewritten, some more than
others. The later versions have been sugar coated and made to be appropriate
children s stories that all have happy endings. In the tale, Bluebeard, by Charles
Perrault, it is quite a unique story, it has a different theme than most fairy tales.
This wealthy man has a blue beard which all women are repulsed by. He wants to
get married, so he sways the girl by hosting a party that last an entire week. They
get married and soon after, the husband must go for a business trip, tells the wife to
enjoy herself by inviting her friends over and gives her one rule to follow. Her
actions lead to the repercussions that follow her. Before describing the tale, certain
characteristics come to mind when thinking of fairy tales, such as magic, animals,
protagonist, villain, royalty, etc. One critical aspect that fairy tales contain is a
moral. They all have a lesson. In the fairy tale, Bluebeard , there may seem to be
more than one theme or lesson to be learned, but one critical moral is how curiosity

Deepwater Horizon was an offshore drilling rig built in 2001 in South Korea by
Hyundai Heavy Industries. In September 2009, the rig drilled the deepest oil well in
history with a vertical depth of 35,050 feet.
An unplanned flow of well fluids into the wellbore can be dangerous as it could
cause a blowout which would then cause a fire. In order to prevent this, driller s
pump a drilling mud into the well, creating a barrier between the undersea oil and
gas and the rig. The safety of the drilling crew relies on a piece of equipment
placed on the top of the sea floor called the blowout preventer. This is essential for
controlling the well and in an emergency situation preventing a disaster on the
platform high above on the sea surface. The blowout preventer is connected to the
rig by a large diameter pipe called a riser. If a blowout occurs the blowout preventer
is designed to prevent flammable oil and gas travelling up the drilling rig.

The Enigma of Capital and the Crisis of Capitalism is a forum for author David

I shall present three studies in which their findings are incompatible with Milton and
Daller s (2007) findings, which disputed the impact of cognateness on L2 word
learning. The first study was carried out by Willis Ohashi (2012) to investigate the
factors that affect the learning process of L2 words. The participants were 69 Japanese
ESL learners studying in different departments of Tokyo University for females:
Linguistics, Communication, Science, Mathematics and Psychology. They studied
English for a long period, 7 years or more. The subjects were given a multiple choice
test in order to assess the size of their recognition of L2 words, the first seven levels
of VST. They completed the test within 15 25 minutes. The researchers aimed to
examine three factors: frequency, cognateness and word length involving the
measurements of it, phonemes, syllables and letters. Additionally, they aimed to
examine the assumed mutual and intervening relationship between the three factors,
frequency, cognateness and word length, in order to examine the effect of frequency
and word length on cognates and non cognates.
The results of this study revealed that cognateness is strongly correlated with item
facility (IF), 29%, followed by frequency, 23% suggesting that cognateness and
more frequent words are easier to acquire and remember. All the three variables of
