The world we inhabit today is home to many different individuals representing
several cultural and ethnic backgrounds that are all distinct from one another in
some shape or form. In today s modern world, there are struggles between
preserving cultural practices and conforming to the notion of progress . Progress,
at its core, implies subjectivity. The word is open to interpretation by whomever,
both having positive and negative impacts on our multicultural world. The
positives usually come in the form of better technologies, infrastructure, and
medicines. These all promote a sense of easier living as they all ease the hardships
each individual has to go through on a daily basis. However, the negatives that
come along with progress are more complicated than its counterpart. Since our
view of progress is skewed, we, as individuals living in a first world country,

A Worn Path by Eudora Welty, written in 1941, is a short story about an elder, Negro
woman, Phoenix Jackson, traveling along a well worn path to an unknown
destination. As the title suggests, this is a path that she has taken many times. The
main theme represented in A Worn Path is that a person would endure and overcome
the forces of nature and society for those they love.
Eudora Welty introduces the character Phoenix Jackson in a way that illustrates that
Phoenix is a person who endures forces of nature and society; and the meaning of her
name is a large hint to the theme of endurance. William M. Jones introduces the idea
that Phoenix is a reference to the legendary bird that is reborn throughout time; one

Abstract
Taking an active part in perceiving information is likely to lead to a superior
memorial ability, assisting in later recalling the information. The generation effect,
according to which generated words are better recalled than read ones, can
demonstrate this view. The current study examines whether or not the number of
links connecting an item into the mental lexicon influences the generation effect. 87
undergraduate psychology students took part in a task comparing their ability to
recall generated and read words, under low and high frequency word conditions. A
significantly larger effect was found under the high frequency word condition,
although a generation effect was present in the low frequency word condition too.
This seems to suggest that the number of links plays a central role in generation
effect, but other variables, like familiarity and meaning, may contribute as well.
It is generally held that in the human brain, information is better remembered when

Dokland, Bella, Rossmann and Estes, Norovirus is classified as a virus belonging
to the Caliciviridae family. The genus Norovirus has only one species known as the

classified genetically into five genogroups, namely GI, GII, GIII, GIV and GV. Only

designed by early 17th century French architect Salomon de Brosse (1571 1626)
was built in 1616, with the young king Louis XIII laying the first cornerstone.
Different from the Flamboyant Gothic of the interior, the faГ§ade is regarded as the
French form of the Roman Baroque style, which introduced the completely new
classical style to 17th century French architecture. The faГ§ade attaching to the
existing Flamboyant Gothic church is a symmetrical, three storey structure that has
traditional three bays on first two levels and remains the central bay on the top

Identity politics is the `ideological tool used by those tired of the more traditional
approaches to political sidings. Rather they form their views around a particular
identity or trait that they share. The idea being that individuals sharing that trait are
subjected to the same biases, disenfranchisement, or discrimination. A prime
opportunity for adherents to this type of worldview has arisen this year in the
election of Donald Trumpas president. It is easy to imagine how a Mexican American
or African American could feel distinctly ostracized by the Trump campaign.
However, the concept is not new by any means. The term first gained a footing during
the Civil Rights era and was used to bring attention to minoritygroups seeking
