A Treatise On Toleration By Voltaire
François Marie Arouet or by his more common pen name, Voltaire, wrote the document A Treatise on
Toleration in the year 1763. He was a French philosophe during the Enlightenment and it is unclear
what his exact religion was. However, Voltaire advocated for religious tolerance, as he states, Yes,
without doubt; for are we not all children of the same father, and creatures of the same God? (Primary
Source 256). He is writing this document to convince people that treating someone like a second class
citizen, or wanting to murder someone because of their differing faith his wrong. During the time this
piece was written, Enlightenment (an intellectual movement advocating individual rather than
traditional thinking), was in full effect. The Scientific Revolution started prior to Voltaire, but the new
spark in thinking mathematically and scientifically leading to philosophes questioning social
normalities. Rulers like Catherine the Great of Russia begin use ideas from the Enlightenment to
inspire their kingdoms functions and change them to the new modern ways of thinking. Other works
like the Encyclopedia: The Rational Dictionary of the Sciences, the Arts, and the Crafts, which was a
group effort from philosophes advocating for an increase in human knowledge and changing the way
of thinking. Common people were beginning to read more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He addresses different groups relating each point to something they can understand and relate to. In
Chapter XXII. Prayer to God, he expresses his distrust to earthly rulers and only looks up to the God
of all beings, of all worlds (Primary Source 259). Once again Voltaire illustrates his deep desires of a
world without corrupt monarchs and acceptance of all religions. Being faithful to one s church is not
enough for Voltaire, people must take it into their own hands to accept one another as brothers and
sisters from the same

Better Than Hum Why Robots Will-And Must Take Our Jobs
Nearly all jobs, blue and white collar alike, will eventually be automated by a worker who never
makes mistakes, never needs to stop working, and can learn faster than any human alive. This is the
future we face, according to Kevin Kelly, writer of Better Than Human: Why Robots Will And Must
Take Our Jobs. Kelly discusses the future of machines doing our work for us. Kelly believes that all
jobs currently occupied by humans will eventually be taken over by machines, and humans will
benefit from the results. While Kelly presents engaging arguments, his examples and writing style are
ineffective in fully demonstrating his view of automation in the workplace. One flawed example Kelly
uses to prove his point is the use of autopilot on an airliner, saying that the pilot is largely unnecessary
because the autopilot is perfectly capable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He even addresses the reader ( Dear Reader ) directly to tell them that their job will certainly be taken
over by machines, whether they like it or not. Even though the article is meant to be educational, its
nature is almost taunting. Kelly s article, white thought provoking, makes sweeping generalizations
and talks down on the reader, both of which weaken his argument. While reading, I wondered if the
career path I want to go into, automotive design, could be automated. The thing with automotive
design is that it s such a delicate blend of art and hard science. A computer could already design a car
to be perfectly aerodynamic and generate the perfect amount of downforce, but cars are still designed
by humans, because people can insert graceful (cosmetic) design motifs and aggressive body lines that
a computer wouldn t bother with. Computers have a specific way of tackling problems, and to assume
that that way of problem solving would apply to nearly every career out there is simply

Speech Pathology Australia
Individual 1500 word essay.
All professional bodies idealise to differentiate themselves from others. Professional bodies aim to
create awareness within society of who they are and what they do, in order to create and maintain a

the diagnosis, management and treatment of individuals who are unable to communicate effectively or
who have difficulty with feeding and swallowing (para. 1)., whereas nursing defined by Oxford

Christian Dental Society Research Paper
During the past two summers, I have spent time in Hopewell, Jamaica. With my mother and groups of
dental students, I have gone in the name of the Christian Dental Society. We provided free dental care
for people in need. One week is spent in Jamaica, and four days are spent in a small clinic. The clinic
in Hopewell has been built onto a church, and there is no air conditioning. A few dental chairs get set
up in the sanctuary. Every morning at the clinic starts out busily as we get all of the stations ready to
see patients. Following clinic prep, we go outside where all of the patients are waiting. They sit on old
church pews and benches under a makeshift tarp roof. We say good morning to the patients and
pastors and then participate in a morning

Gun control
Does gun control reduce crime rate?
Abstract
Over the past few months, people across the nation have been debating about gun control. Topics
ranging from firearm restrictions to background checks have been heavily discussed by both emotion
and logic, by both gun supporters and gun control activists, and it seems like there is no middle
ground for both parties to agree on. Crime rates influence guns demanded for self protection, and guns
demanded by criminals depend upon guns held by law abiding citizens. Comparative static analysis is
used to investigate the effects of crime and gun control policies. The results show that increases in
crime control policies may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This showed that the backgrounds checks that were conducted at the local leave had less suicide and
homicide rates. The local agencies have access to more detailed criminal reports than the federal
government (Guse, Layde Sumner, 2008).
Firearm has been a major issue in United States since founding of the country; however in December
15, 1971 a bill was passed which integrated the second Amendment to the constitution. That second
Amendment give people the right to bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Ever since the law was passed
America has been the nation of gun owner, it has been a problem for both the owners and the gun
control advocate ( Annas Glantz, 2009).
It is obvious why people support gun control, because they want to reduce crime and gun control will
help achieve their goals. In the poll that was conducted in 1978, regarding gun control laws 41 percent
of Americans believe even if there were more gun control law that crime would still stay the same
while 16 percent believes that crime will increase. After the shooting at Columbine school,
respondents were asked who was to be blamed for the murders, only a few recognized weak gun
control rules. Many Americans support gun control because they believe gun control is an effective
way to reduce crime and violence. When it comes to gun control, Americans have very weak
viewpoints on the topic . (Bartton Gertz, Kleck, 2009).

A model of communication suggesting that an intended message is directly received and wholly
accepted by the receiver.Stressed that mass media has a direct, immediate and powerful effect on its
audience.Message equals to bullet and media equals to gun.

Hypodermic Needle Theory was not based on a research.Actually it was founded on the assumption
that humans are controlled by their surrounding nature, will react instinctively to passing stimuli in
similar ways.
The theory suggests that the mass media may influence a very large number of people directly and
uniformly by Injecting them with messages designed to get a desired response.
The media s effects on people s behavior is extremely effective . Adolf Hitler used the media to spread
Nazi propaganda in Germany, creating a unified force bent on conquering Europe. President Franklin
D. Roosevelt s radio speeches, well known as fireside chats, inspired millions of citizens to support his
New Deal policies. To the listeners , people seemed powerless to receive the messages that came from
the media.First time ever, messages were towards the target audience in mind to achieve specific
responses from them.

How Is Charles Darnay Selfish
Making decisions can t always be easy especially if there s consequences to your actions. Charles
Darnay had to make a decision for him not to be stuck somewhere he didn t want to be. Darnay didn t
want to end up like the people in his family meaning that he didn t want to oppose on their crimes and
the bad things they ve done therefore he made the choice to leave his heritage and voluntarily exile
himself and become a whole new person. Some people may argue in saying that was or wasn t a noble
action but i think it wasn t a noble deed because it was selfish and he didn t respect his mother s dying
wish but I do have a counter argument is that it wasn t easy to leave his whole life behind. Charles
Darnay made a very selfish act when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was as well responsible for the death of her brother and father. After finding this out Charles Darnay s

Chingachgook s The Last Of The Mohicans
The Last of the Mohicans
The relationships that parents have with their kids are something special. Each relationship is unique
in its own way. It s unique in that to be parents or kid to someone else, they don t have to be the
conventional husband, wife, and child. It could be one Dad raising the child by himself. It could be
two moms raising the child. It could be an entire group of people collectively helping to raise that
child. The beauty in it is that the role of the parent and child are endless. But one thing that every
single one of those relationships has in common is that those parents and children share a special
bond. To sum up, each family bond is something special that cannot be replicated and is unique to
each relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each family has their own traditions and own way of dealing with each other, although, families can
have similarities and differences. One similarity between Chingachgook and Uncas and Munro and his
daughters are that they still deeply care for one another. No matter how much they fight and argue, at
the end of the day, they still love each other because they are family. Nothing can get between love
and their families. But, one difference between the two families is that Chingachgook treats Uncas
with more respect and believes that he is responsible enough to make most of his own decisions.
While at the same time, Munro thinks that his daughters are still too young and impressionable. He
feels that he must still always keep an eye on them and make every decision so that they can always
be protected. Now, neither of those two ways of parenting are wrong, it is just how each of them
thinks it is the best ways to watch over their children. To sum up, parenting is a very difficult thing to
do at some times, and each parent has their own way of teaching their children how to grow

American Eviction
The consequences of this hunger were disastrous. People died in their houses, in the countryside of
fever, hunger and diseases.
It is estimated that between 1.000.000 and 1.500.000 people died, most of them, poor.
Because of the famine, Landlords seeing that the poor tenants could not pay their rents, evicted many
of them of their homes. Without food and house, they were in the hands of charity or the government.
This eviction was the death sentence for the great majority.
During each year of the Hunger, thousands of Irish migrated, fistly, to the bigger cities in Ireland, and
then to Britain, North America ands Australia, places where they were not welcomed.
Many Irish who settled in America, bored a hatred feeling for the policies of England

Homelessness in the United States
The topic I have decided to focus Genius Hour on is how to solve the problem of homelessness in the
United States. More than 3.5 million people experience homelessness each year. And in 2013, there
was a high of 2.5 million homeless children. But why should people care? People should care because
if they ever went into foreclosure, they could be secure in knowing that they would still have a place
to stay in and would not be forced to go on the streets. A solution to eliminating homelessness would
be incorporating some socialism factors of government into our federal government. I consider this a
sensible solution because our federal government has a double security system that prevents our

Simply Stated, Research Is A Means To Answer A Question
Simply stated, research is a means to answer a question (Mertler, 2014). There are convenient and
comfortable sources such as tradition, authority, and common sense to consult for an answer to a
question (2014). Unfortunately, these sources are unreliable and include biases of some degree (2014).
To answer a question using valid and reliable data, the scientific method is utilized (2014). In
traditional educational research, there is the application of the scientific method to educational topics,
phenomena, or questions in search of answers (2014, p. 6) which aims to develop new theories or to
discover generalized principles and is performed by outside experts (Efron Ravid, 2013). Practitioners

Moreover, action research consists of four stages: planning, acting, developing, and reflecting
(Mertler, 2014), and each stage will be utilized to address my identified PoP, retention. During the
present planning stage, I have identified my PoP, gathered information about retention, reviewed
scholarly literature about retention and curriculum theories, and developed my research plan (2014).
Once my research plan is approved and all requirements have been fulfilled to continue this DP
(University of South Carolina, 2015), the next stage is acting (Mertler, 2014). During the acting stage,
I will collect and analyze data gathered during the implementation of my research plan (2014). Once
the acting stage has been completed, I will consult my colleagues in the STEM department and the
students who participated in the study to develop a plan of action (2014). The development of a plan
of action will provide strategies to address the identified PoP (2014). After a plan of action is
developed, the reflecting stage will include sharing and communicating the study s results with the
participants as well as the faculty and staff of OCTC (2016). The reflecting stage also provides an
opportunity to review the process and make other adjustments which illustrates the iterative process of
continually reviewing practices to make improvements in action research (Efron Ravid, 2013). During
this Action Research study, it is important to acknowledge that the

Discrimination In Discrimination For Women
It is 1996 and you walk into a local diner. You are seated and greeted by a waitress who takes your
order, and while you are waiting for your food, you look around and notice the same waitress taking
three other families order as well as other waitress and you are thinking that they are overworking the
women at this minimum wage establishment. It is now current day 2017 and not much has changed.
Many women are getting taken advantage off at jobs by portraying them as sex objects to help catch
the attention of more customers. When women are put in position where their only option to make
more money is by their sexuality and image, they start to compete with their other co workers. By
doing so the upper management wins at getting their way and making more money without having to
do much but give women who are desperate to make money an ultimatum. Our culture and the
management class stereotype minimum wage service job women as sex objects on display as this
causes competition among female workers for attention and power and ultimately disempowers some
women workers and represses their potential to come together in solidarity.
Road map First I will show an example from the book Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, on
how women are getting taken advantage off by forcing them to perform sexuality. Then by adding a
supporting example from the article Que Viva La Minifalda! Secretaries, Miniskirts and Daily
Practices of Sexuality in the Public Sector in Lima by Lorraine Nencel. Next I will talk about
management and how it subliminally creates competition between workers, turning women and men
against each other by showing examples from the book and in the article Cliques, Rumors, and Gossip
by the Water Cooler: Female Bullying in the Workplace by Crothers e.t. Al. Thirdly , I will talk about
how because of the previous two, women feel disempowered making them have no voice which does
not allow them to come together and unionize by showing an example from Work Uncertainty and the
Promotion of Professional Women: The Case of Law Firm Partnership . Finally I ll say what the
opposing side would argue against by showing an example from ..... And an example from ..... Then i

Short Stories In Native American Literature
Native American literature is in its self a very unique way of telling stories. In these types of stories, I
found that the stories were much different than the stories of the northern American writers I was used
too. What I found was the most interesting about the native American writers that I was reading about
is how similar the short stories and poems seemed. Erna Gunther, the author of the Native American
Literature article stated, These include ancient hieroglyphic and pictographic writings of Middle
America as well as an extensive set of folktales, myths, and oral histories that were transmitted for
centuries by storytellers and that live on in the language works of many contemporary American
Indian writers (Gunther). There was a very clear idea that the native American writes were more alike
in the themes and ideas that they were writing about. It is not a surprise when I read and come across
writers who have very different ways in telling a story or poem. But what seemed to interest me when
reading the work of two different Native American writers is how similar they are and not as different
as one would imagine. The different prospective of writers are their true identities as a writer so it is
amazing to see when some writers can see through the same lens. When researching Native American
writers, I came across two writers, both women, with a similar back ground and also a very similar
was of showing amazing imagery when telling the stories. It was very clear

Black Bottom Stomp By Jelly Roll Morton
Black Bottom Stomp is a complex piece in which Jelly Roll Morton deftly incorporates multiple solos,
each performer infusing his own personality and improvisation into the tune. For the first section of
the song (00:00 to 00:20), the band is playing the first part of the piece in unison, which certainly
sounds composed but that is essentially when the sheet music is thrown out the window. After Morton
establishes the general melody for the piece, he lets his musicians creativity take over, and each takes
his turn at improvising a solo. Although there is no video associated with this piece, you can almost

stock market by buying stock on margin. Buying on margin was essentially buying stock son credit, an
imaginary monetary value in a sense. Those using credit for stock and share purchases were, in a sense
promising that they would pay the amount eventually. This type of purchasing didn t actually give the
companies selling the stocks any real money. When prices of stocks continued to rise throughout the

fabric of social structure. Firstly, the church is located in Orange County, specifically Irvine which has
a vibrant religious scene. With a wide variety of churches to choose from in the area, Free Chapel has
to think of new and innovative ways to entice people to attend their church. This is exemplified in the
grandness of the church, and the modernness of the inside. When we asked the pastor to tell us about

The And The Industrial Man
Since the founding of America, no singular method of governmental role has been adopted. The
concept of governmental role in American society is a subjective point. While some believe in a strong
government that controls and expands its role over many aspects of American society, others believe
that limiting government power is necessary to having a thriving society and economy. Clark Kerr
wrote the document Industrialism and the Industrial Man which highlights and explains the
perspective of having a centralized government in power. Contrastingly, Capitalism and Freedom,
written by Milton Friedman is in support of a limited government and placing a check on concentrated
power. Both documents reflect the two different styles of government and provide context to their
functions and the application of their duties. In Industrialism and the Industrial Man, Clark Kerr
depicts the concept of an industrial society characterized by a government that has a wide range of
activities and functions it controls. In this industrial society, the government provides and controls
technology, infrastructure, urban development, military, international relations, education, parks,
healthcare, and many other services to society. The government also keeps order of the economy,
controlling the labor and product markets. Even though this big government has many functions and
controls a large sector of society, Kerr explains that the freedom and personal liberty of the people will

tax in Colorado, I m happy if they exempt the male hygiene products, to me, for the government to be
picking winners and losers, I m not crazy about that at all. Buck said this in context inferring that
removing the sales tax on items such as men s razors and razor blades would level the field between
sales tax placed on products specifically meant for women or men (Stice). There are two issues with
this solution. One being that women will then want the sales tax removed from their razors and razor
blades as well, putting men behind in what seems to be some sort of government taxation game. This
game would then cause a slippery slope of requests for sales tax cuts on any number of male or female
specific products. The second issue being that in no way are razors an absolute necessity. Razors are a
clear want, not a need. It is not fair to compare a woman s need for a sanitary napkin to a man s want

For example Japan relates on debt ratio them more U.S. firms. One of the explanations for different
financial structures is a different tax regime. For example, if interest income were taxes at higher rate,
a preference for debt financing over equity financing would be expected. However, according to the
empirical research, country differences in financial structure do not seem related to any systematic to
country difference in tax structure. Another explanation is that these country differences may reflect
cultural norms, cultural influences not yet been explained.
Principle behind global money management is that that firms must use the firm s cash recourses in the
most efficient way and work on minimization cash balances and reducing transactional costs.
Firms must hold certain cash balances that will cover payments of accounts payables and expected
demand on cash. The rest of the cash assets are usually reinvested on in money markets accounts and
firms earn interest on them. However, firms must have flexible accounts so it can withdraw all cash
freely. Such accounts usually have low interest rates and if it doesn t, firm can suffers from financial
penalties. That is the dilemma many firms are facing and that is why firms are minimizing cash
balances, so it can earn interest in high rated market account.
Another way to reduce costs of doing business internationally is to reduce transaction costs.
Transaction cost is the cost of exchange, it is

The Narrative Structure And Emotional Perspective
How It Feels to Be Colored Me is a narrative essay by Zora Neale Hurston that recounts her
experience of having her identity being drastically shifted from her personal self to a nameless colored
girl living in a predominantly white society. Hurston uses descriptive language, metaphors, and
symbols to help the reader empathize with her experience rather than simply understand it at a factual
level. The narrative structure and emotional perspective style Hurston uses makes the events easy to
follow. The following is an in depth analysis of the literary elements Hurston uses in this piece.
The opening paragraph is straightforward and establishes that she sees herself as an ordinary colored
person with no real distinguishing traits. It is written in the present tense, suggesting that this is the
author s current self image.
The next three paragraphs describe the culture of the town she grew up in as a child. It opens with an
odd statement: I remember the very day that I became colored. This is meant to be taken figuratively,
as in the day her race became a part of her identity, because people generally don t spontaneously
change color. She recounts that day later in the essay. In these three paragraphs she describes her life
before she realizes what her race means for her. The relationship between white and colored people in
the town is limited. Most of the all black town seem to be afraid of white people, but some of them,
including the author, are just curious. This

Love And Honor Through The Ages. Love Can Do Crazy Things
Love and Honor Through the Ages Love can do crazy things to many individuals; making them crazy
or mad, dying from a possible broken heart, or even killing themselves or someone else. During the
Middle Ages, love was termed as chivalry or noble love, and then romantic love in the Nineteenth
Century of Romanticism. I will discover and show how it changed during the periods of literature with
the materials we have studied in this class. Let s start at the beginning it s a very good place to start.
Courtly love and chivalry were depicted in The Knights Tale by Chaucer. Two knightly brothers,
Palamon and Arcite, fall in love with the same woman. According to the rules of chivalry, they are
willing to protect one another at all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have here, with my cousin Palamon, /
Had strife and rancor many a day that s gone, /
For love of you and for my jealousy, /
May Jove so surely guide my soul for me, /
To speak about a lover with properly, /
With all the circumstances, faithfully, /
That is to say truth, honour, and knighthood, /
Wisdom humility and kinship good, /
And generous soul and all the lover s art /
So now may Jove have in my soul his part /
As in this world, right now, I know of none /
So worthy to be loved as Palamon /
Who serves you and will do so all his life /
And if you ever should become a wife, /
Forget not Palamon, the noble man (Chaucer 1925 1939).
First and foremost, a knight was expected to act honorably in his presentation in battles and in his
treatment of women. Common with the times in which this and the next story were written, the Middle
Ages was the expression of chivalry. Depicted within these stories, the unwavering valor in the face of
danger, loyalty to one s leader and companions, and an intense concern for personal honor (Lawall
1145) are shown multiple times over. Consequently, throughout the story, Arcite and Palamon faltered
in their knightly code, much like the knights in the next story, Malory s The Knight of the Cart.
Here we find Lancelot and Meliagrance in love with Queen Guenever. Meliagrance deceitfully
captures Guenever showing his

Honda s Credibility
Advertisements have been used over hundreds of years with the goal of persuading their viewers to
obey their message. Ads have become ubiquitous in our lives, from magazines pages to the sides of
buses, each trying in various ways to convince the consumer that they need to purchase the specific
product. This year, Honda released a commercial for the 2016 Civic that displays the car driving out of
the designer s brain with the flow of his imagination. It contains no dialogue and ends with the written
words, Direct from our imagination . The advertisement for the Civic uses aspects of appealing to
positive emotion, source credibility and appealing to broad cultural values to effectively persuade
young first time car buyers to purchase their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Credibility is the amount of perceived training, knowledge and experience of the source by the viewer
(Lecture). Honda uses two different aspects of credibility in their advertisement: the credibility of the
company and of the car s engineer. The car engineer shown at the beginning of the ad serves as a
visual source because the ideas of the car come out of his brain, making him the designer of the civic.
The man was dressed in a lab coat, which serves as an artifact that helps make the connection that the
man is a scientist or engineer who is designing the civic. People tend to trust professionals more when
it comes to building complicated machines such as a car, which is why the viewer would be more
willing to pay attention to the product of imagination coming from the visual source s head.
Additionally, the engineer is a male and according to Tubbs, men and those who are perceived to have
a higher status have a greater impact on the audience (Tubbs). Males may be more trusted and there
are typically more men in the field of engineering. The choice of a male actor over a female may have
been a conscious decision by Honda in attempts to make the visual source more credible for the
consumers because he must be deemed credible for the audience to entrust the car is well equipped. In
addition, Honda used the credibility of their company to transfer credibility to their product through
both visuals and audio effects. Honda s credibility come from vast majority of America that drives
Honda s and their reputation for running well for years. The ad begins with the Honda logo and the
sound of a ding that Honda uses in many of its other commercials. The significance of the correlation
between corporate credibility and the product s credibility is shown through a study conducted by
Lafferty and Goldsmith. The empirical study examined the credibility of the company s effect on the

##lational And Intersectional Similarities In The Story...
Intro
In the story Desi Hoop Dreams a character named Mustafa expresses relational and intersectional
dimensions. The story compares and contrasts identities of different cultures within the Atlanta
basketball society. Race, class, gender, and ethnicity are all demonstrated through different ways in the
eyes of Mustafa. Mustafa s ideas about himself and others give examples of what South Asian
American life is like in the United States. We see the relational and intersectional identities in the story
when Mustafa is playing basketball, going to clubs, and eating at Waffle House with his friends.
Many South Asian Americans are often stereotyped as terrorist figures or nerds in the United States.
Their masculinity is also questioned on the basketball court. Mustafa tries to mimic American
masculinity and citizenship by playing basketball in different leagues. This is a relational identity,
because he looks at Americans and contrasts their intersecting identities to his own. We see Mustafa
acting masculine when he tells Khan to man up and be a beast (Thangaraj 11). This is ironic because
he is acting like the perceived American when talking to a fellow desi. More perceptions of typical
South Asian Americans on the court were seen when Mustafa was playing with Emory University
students. Little Sheik and the three others were lacking basketball skills and didn t provide
competition (Thangaraj 27). On the other hand, Mustafa was playing on a way higher level. The

Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. The film is an enthralling film about the survival of one
of its prisoners, Andy Dufresne, the protagonist convicted to life imprisonment in Shawshank prison

the hope of identity are the key to redemption as the prisoners confront institutionalism . Hope can be
conceived as an innovation to get busy living . Frank Darabont conveys the theme of hope as the key
to survival in the prison.
The protagonist, Andy Dufresne is a resourcefully calm intelligent character. Andy Dufresne is a
character sent to prison due to the murder of his wife and her lover. During the opening scenes the
directors convince the audience that the character of Andy Dufresne is as a pleasant man. This shows
that the audience expectations are defeated because the audience would not suspect a man like Andy
Dufresne to end up in jail. Andy s clam characteristics are provoked during the scene he is abused by
the sisters but as Andy is approached to be calm character he approaches the situation with intellect
over violence. He is shown to differ from other character

The Work At Home Policy
Introduction
Every code of companies have the pros and cons, so does work at home policy which KGDV was
trying to introduce. Whether the company decided to expand work at home policy at fast speed or
slow down the expansion, the side effects caused by the policy that may bring about high moral
hazard in the company would become most likely apparent in the long run and should be observed. In
order to demonstrate appropriate proposals for the problem, the essay will first outline two issues of
the programme. Then, how to build up trusts and encourage workers to communicate to minimize the
side effects from the aspect of leadership theories will be carefully argued. Finally, a summary of
proposals will be shown.
Two Side effects of the policy
There are two side effect issues that should be considered. Firstly Social deprivation is harmful
especially for KPO consulting firms such as KGDV because the projects which the company
undertook the offers of are basically allocated to teams and professional knowledge and numerous
information related to projects must be informed well among all the members of the team. As quoted
by Susanne Braun that nowadays, organizations predominantly team based structures require leaders
to lead and motivate not only individuals but also teams as a whole (2007, quoted in Braun, Peus,
Weisweiler, and Frey, 2013, p.270), how leaders of teams behave with members of the teams is one of
the great factors to maintain the company s high morale. Secondly,

  • 3. A Treatise On Toleration By Voltaire François Marie Arouet or by his more common pen name, Voltaire, wrote the document A Treatise on Toleration in the year 1763. He was a French philosophe during the Enlightenment and it is unclear what his exact religion was. Better Than Hum Why Robots Will-And Must Take Our Jobs Nearly all jobs, blue and white collar alike, will eventually be automated by a worker who never makes mistakes, never needs to stop working, and can learn faster than any human alive. This is the future we face, according to Kevin Kelly, writer of Better Than Human: Why Robots Will And Must Take Our Jobs. Kelly discusses the future of machines doing our work for us. Kelly believes that all jobs currently occupied by humans will eventually be taken over by machines, and humans will benefit from the results. It is now current day 2017 and not much has changed. Many women are getting taken advantage off at jobs by portraying them as sex objects to help catch the attention of more customers. By doing so the upper management wins at getting their way and making more money without having to do much but give women who are desperate to make money an ultimatum. While some believe in a strong government that controls and expands its role over many aspects of American society, others believe that limiting government power is necessary to having a thriving society and economy. Clark Kerr wrote the document Industrialism and the Industrial Man which highlights and explains the perspective of having a centralized government in power. The narrative structure and emotional perspective style Hurston uses makes the events easy to follow. The following is an in depth analysis of the literary elements Hurston uses in this piece. Love Can Do Crazy Things Love and Honor Through the Ages Love can do crazy things to many individuals; making them crazy or mad, dying from a possible broken heart, or even killing themselves or someone else. During the Middle Ages, love was termed as chivalry or noble love, and then romantic love in the Nineteenth Century of Romanticism. I will discover and show how it changed during the periods of literature with the materials we have studied in this class. Let s start at the beginning it s a very good place to start. Courtly love and chivalry were depicted in The Knights Tale by Chaucer. Two knightly brothers, Palamon and Arcite, fall in love with the same woman. According to the rules of chivalry, they are willing to protect one another at all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have here, with my cousin Palamon, / Had strife and rancor many a day that s gone, / For love of you and for my jealousy, / May Jove so surely guide my soul for me, / To speak about a lover with properly, / With all the circumstances, faithfully, / That is to say truth, honour, and knighthood, / Wisdom humility and kinship good, / And generous soul and all the lover s art / So now may Jove have in my soul his part / As in this world, right now, I know of none / So worthy to be loved as Palamon / Who serves you and will do so all his life / And if you ever should become a wife, / Forget not Palamon, the noble man (Chaucer 1925 1939). First and foremost, a knight was expected to act honorably in his presentation in battles and in his treatment of women. Common with the times in which this and the next story were written, the Middle Ages was the expression of chivalry. Depicted within these stories, the unwavering valor in the face of danger, loyalty to one s leader and companions, and an intense concern for personal honor (Lawall 1145) are shown multiple times over. Consequently, throughout the story, Arcite and Palamon faltered in their knightly code, much like the knights in the next story, Malory s The Knight of the Cart. Here we find Lancelot and Meliagrance in love with Queen Guenever. Meliagrance deceitfully captures Guenever showing his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Honda s Credibility Advertisements have been used over hundreds of years with the goal of persuading their viewers to obey their message. Ads have become ubiquitous in our lives, from magazines pages to the sides of buses, each trying in various ways to convince the consumer that they need to purchase the specific product. This year, Honda released a commercial for the 2016 Civic that displays the car driving out of the designer s brain with the flow of his imagination. It contains no dialogue and ends with the written words, Direct from our imagination . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Credibility is the amount of perceived training, knowledge and experience of the source by the viewer (Lecture). Honda uses two different aspects of credibility in their advertisement: the credibility of the company and of the car s engineer. The car engineer shown at the beginning of the ad serves as a visual source because the ideas of the car come out of his brain, making him the designer of the civic. The man was dressed in a lab coat, which serves as an artifact that helps make the connection that the man is a scientist or engineer who is designing the civic. People tend to trust professionals more when it comes to building complicated machines such as a car, which is why the viewer would be more willing to pay attention to the product of imagination coming from the visual source s head. Additionally, the engineer is a male and according to Tubbs, men and those who are perceived to have a higher status have a greater impact on the audience (Tubbs). Males may be more trusted and there are typically more men in the field of engineering. The choice of a male actor over a female may have been a conscious decision by Honda in attempts to make the visual source more credible for the consumers because he must be deemed credible for the audience to entrust the car is well equipped. In addition, Honda used the credibility of their company to transfer credibility to their product through both visuals and audio effects. Honda s credibility come from vast majority of America that drives Honda s and their reputation for running well for years. The ad begins with the Honda logo and the sound of a ding that Honda uses in many of its other commercials. The significance of the correlation between corporate credibility and the product s credibility is shown through a study conducted by Lafferty and Goldsmith. The empirical study examined the credibility of the company s effect on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. ##lational And Intersectional Similarities In The Story... Intro In the story Desi Hoop Dreams a character named Mustafa expresses relational and intersectional dimensions. The story compares and contrasts identities of different cultures within the Atlanta basketball society. Race, class, gender, and ethnicity are all demonstrated through different ways in the eyes of Mustafa. Mustafa s ideas about himself and others give examples of what South Asian American life is like in the United States. We see the relational and intersectional identities in the story when Mustafa is playing basketball, going to clubs, and eating at Waffle House with his friends. Many South Asian Americans are often stereotyped as terrorist figures or nerds in the United States. Their masculinity is also questioned on the basketball court. Mustafa tries to mimic American masculinity and citizenship by playing basketball in different leagues. This is a relational identity, because he looks at Americans and contrasts their intersecting identities to his own. We see Mustafa acting masculine when he tells Khan to man up and be a beast (Thangaraj 11). This is ironic because he is acting like the perceived American when talking to a fellow desi. More perceptions of typical South Asian Americans on the court were seen when Mustafa was playing with Emory University students. Little Sheik and the three others were lacking basketball skills and didn t provide competition (Thangaraj 27). On the other hand, Mustafa was playing on a way higher level. The ... Whether the company decided to expand work at home policy at fast speed or slow down the expansion, the side effects caused by the policy that may bring about high moral hazard in the company would become most likely apparent in the long run and should be observed. In order to demonstrate appropriate proposals for the problem, the essay will first outline two issues of the programme. Then, how to build up trusts and encourage workers to communicate to minimize the side effects from the aspect of leadership theories will be carefully argued. Finally, a summary of proposals will be shown. Two Side effects of the policy There are two side effect issues that should be considered. Firstly Social deprivation is harmful especially for KPO consulting firms such as KGDV because the projects which the company undertook the offers of are basically allocated to teams and professional knowledge and numerous information related to projects must be informed well among all the members of the team.
