The controller mentioned in this thesis is required to realize several functions: maintain the metal
which directly connected to the photonic IC chip at 25В°c, and keep this temperature for long
hours. Although this controller is designed for lab use, there are no any power shortage issues for
temperature controller, however due to sustainability, the power supply is expected to be natural
resources.
Further researching is needed on several components to develop the temperature controller and that

Sexuality plays a significant role in the novel. Be it Oscars inability to have sex, Yunior, the
narrators, constant search for a woman, the sexual abuse that Lola is victim of as a child or the
constant sexualization of Beli as a teen. In these cases, when analyzed, the reader can see that
the treatment or, mistreatment of these cases, is often transgenerational. Starting with Lola, the
sexual abuse she experienced was at a very young age, and when she tells her mother about it,
she is told that she must never speak of it again. This shame that comes with sexual abuse is
often repressed by families and victims alike. Lola refers to repressed memory as within a year I

The research question that facilitated our asset map was simply What social outlets are available
for LGBT youth in the greater Los Angeles area? . We chose this question because the majority of
the young people receiving services at our site are homeless, and as everyone knows, homelessness
is a condition that can quickly lead to despair. We firmly believed that locating LGBT themed social
gatherings, groups, and organizations would be an essential step in pointing these youths towards
systems of support that could help make their difficult circumstances more bearable.
Also, it was vital for us to focus only on social outlets that were LGBT centric for these young
people, being marginalized members of an already marginalized community, the homeless have
distinct needs that other individuals don t. And when these needs aren t met, the consequences can
be tragic. Research shows that approximately 62 percent of homeless LGBT youth attempt suicide
(Center for American Progress, 2010). Before we began our work, officials at our site informed us
that they did not have a list of social outlets for the clients, which made our asset map that much

Reaching the roof on their Valentine s reunion, Maureen observes that with the end of daylight
savings time even though it seemed dark when we were down on the street, up on the roof it felt
as though there were some light left somewhere in the city (Hornby 330). From the point in the
novel when the group first descends from the roof, every aspect of the story is building towards
this end, in which the hopeful theme is fully realized. Late in the night in which the group first
meet, Martin jokes, A trouble shared is a trouble halved, and because there are four of us, it s
actually been quartered (Hornby 102). Although said mockingly, Jess agrees and even with just
hours of time together, this adage rings true for the desperate four. The importance of camaraderie
and community in finding hope is persistent through the end of the story. After witnessing the
man actually jump from the tower block, it is Martin who honestly says, I m not, you know.
Ready to go solo just yet. It s funny because I don t actually like any of you very much. But you
seem to be, I don t knowВ…What I need (Hornby 240). The ending of A Long Way Down clearly
enforces Hornby s chosen theme, though as just another happy ending it is disappointing.
Even disguised, this happily ever after ending is both predictable and unsatisfying. Since the story is
