Personal Income Tax Law
AB 697 Personal income tax: credits: senior citizen renters
The Personal Income Tax Law is design to give income tax credit to senior citizen who rent in certain
counties of the state of California. The Personal Income tax applies mainly to those senior citizen
living in poverty levels and renting in the County of Alameda, the City and County of San Francisco,
County of Ventura, and the County of Santa Clara. Certain qualifications must be met by the senior
citizen requesting the income tax credit. Some of these qualifications includes being over the age of 62
years, the qualified residence must be the primary residence, name on the lease, income of less than
$50,000, and live in the qualifying counties. Today, 20 percent of seniors, 65 years and older, already
live below poverty level and Homelessness among senior citizen is on the rise. For those senior
citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also predicted that homelessness among seniors will rise by 33 percent from 2010 to 2020.
According to the SFgate.com article California seniors have highest poverty rate, senior poverty levels
stared to rise again in 2008 economic collapse, during which many seniors lost their jobs, homes,
savings and pensions. I believe the Personal Income Tax Law should be implemented not just in
California but in all the United States. Many of our senior citizens work very hard for so many years
to end up living in poverty. In some cultures the elderly are honor and respected because of their age.
Somehow I see that in our time and age that respect and honor to our seniors is being lost. They
deserve to get as much help as they need to survive and live a decent life in their most vulnerable age.
So I do agree with laws that give our seniors the opportunity to live a joyful life without the worry of

Comparing Diary Of Anne Frank And Gerda Weissman Klein
Compare and Contrast Essay
Have you ever been truly afraid? What about you felt like someone decides your life? Both Anne
Frank from The Diary of Anne Frank and Gerda Klein from Gerda Weissman Klein have.
They both were in the horrendous holocaust trying to survive. Their methods of survival were much
different Gerda, trying to survive by doing what the green police said hoping to avoid the
consequences of hiding and breaking the law.Anne however decided to hide as soon as the green
police started enforcing the laws that restricted Jewish rights. This theme of survival is shown
throughout the entirety of the Diary of Anne Frank mainly because the play takes place in an
annex. The theme of survival in Gerda Weissmann Klein is doing

Bluffing by Gail Helgason and The Prospector s Trail by...
Relationships can have positive and negative outcomes, one has to overcome and improve and change
to succeed in a positive relationship. As Richard M. Devos once said Money cannot buy peace of
mind. It cannot heal ruptured relationships, or build meaning into a life that has none. In the short
story Bluffing by Gail Helgason money and communication show the importance of a successful
relationship in Liam s and Gabriella s life. On the other hand in the short story The Prospectors Trail
by Cathy Jewison money and communication were one of the conflicts throughout. The thesis of this
essay is one should put their own opinions and views before others.
In The short story Bluffing one of the problems is that Jennifer is fairly demanding of her own wants
and needs about starting a new life in Yellowknife which can be shown by when she is in the tent
talking to Norman as she says I give it six weeks to labour day (Jewison 24). This quotation emphasis
Jennifer s own wants as she is very demanding of her wants. The other problem Norman on the other
hand, is not as self conceited as his partner when his own ideas are to find work. Whereas Jennifer
stated she was only going to give it 6 weeks. But Norman still wants to find a job and give living a life
outside the city a try this can be apparent by when he is talking to Roy around the fire about work as
Norman says I want to start a tourist operation (Jewison 22). This quotation suggests that Norman s

The Effect The Molarity Of Sucrose Solution Has On Osmolarity
Title: The effect the molarity of sucrose solution has on osmolarity
Introduction: Passive transport occurs when substances move from high concentration areas to a lower
concentration region. Both Diffusion and Osmosis are examples of passive transport, however,
osmosis is when water molecules move across a selectively permeable membrane. The plasma
membrane, being a thin barrier to outside environment, is a selectively permeable membrane. Thus, it
only allows certain particles to enter or exit the cell. A selectively permeable membrane is important
because it protects the cell from certain materials that can potentially be toxic to the cell by not
allowing the cell to diffuse uniformly; this means that not all particles can equally facilitate to the cell
(encyclopedia ,n.d.). The movement of substance across a membrane is caused by two factors, their
size and charge (Pearson Education, 2008). If a substance is small and nonpolar it can easily move but
if it s large and polar, it will have difficulty traveling across the membrane. For example, the
selectively permeable membrane allows water, which is known as solvent, to move freely but prevents
large molecules such as sugar molecules from passing through; the sugar molecules are known as
solute (BBC, 2014).
However, facilitated diffusion can help the molecules that cannot pass through the cell membrane by
themselves. Facilitated diffusion can help these molecules due specialize proteins such as the channel

The Causes And Impacts Of British Petroleum
On April 20, 2010, British Petroleum s (BP) offshore drilling rig, the Deepwater Horizon, exploded
and caused the largest accidental marine oil spill in history, discharging five million barrels of oil into
the ocean over a period of three months. During this accident, eleven men working on the oil rig
perished and seventeen others were injured severely. This crisis caused major destruction to marine
wildlife caused economic harm on fishing and tourism industries and was a public relations nightmare
for British Petroleum (Crandall, Parnell Spillan, 2013). This event was horrendous; I remember the
devastation that was left in the wake of this tragedy.
Beginning in the 1980 s, offshore oil production showed to be a solution for the United States energy
issues and national security. In the beginning, the wells were in shallow water, but once these wells
were dry, drilling in the deeper water began. Although there were drawbacks, such as the difficulty to
drill and operate a well at such tremendous depths and because of these depths robots would have to
troubleshoot maintenance problems instead of humans. Additionally, in deep waters, special drilling
rigs are needed. There are two types of drilling rigs, the drillship, and the semi submersible. The
Deepwater Horizon was a semi submersible rig that was used to excavate the well on the Macondo
slope in the Gulf of Mexico. Once the excavation was done, another rig would arrive to extract the oil.

Research Process and Terminology Essay
Research Process and Terminology
This paper is about the terminology used in research and the processes in which are used in research.
In this paper the reader will learn how not knowing the proper terminology can have an effect on
someone that is trying to conduct a criminal justice research project. It will also tell how by being
knowledgeable of the correct terms it can be a positive feature to the researcher when examining and
weighing up data or following a line of investigation information. And lastly, it will also explain how
the knowledge and terminology can and will be relevant to a career in the criminal justice field.

the correct understanding of the basic terminology in the criminal justice field the research will
definitely end in a failure. If this is turns out to be the case, the research performed will be a waste of

Analysis Of Literary Analysis In Ulysses By Lord Alfred...
Literature and poetry in particular have the potential to make profound impressions on their readers. In
the poem Ulysses by Lord Alfred Tennyson, the speaker Ulysses argues for his mariners to come back
out to sea. Karen Prior s article How Reading Makes Us More Human argues how reading makes one
more human. On the other hand, Tennyson makes his argument through Ulysses, as he talks to his
mariners while Prior makes her argument to teachers of higher of education. While Tennyson and
Prior both use rhetorical situations to persuade their audiences, Prior connects to her audience better
by citing compelling and exhaustive research, eliciting sympathy from her audience through her
narrative voice, and establishing her credibility by using personal examples and research. Prior s uses
captivating evidence in her article in order to persuade the audience that reading makes one more
human. For example, Prior takes research from psychologists from York University and University of
Toronto which states [people] who read fiction appear to be better able to understand other people,
empathize with them and view the world from their perspective (para. 2). With the use of notable
research, the reader starts to question if reading does make one more human. Prior then goes on to use
research done by the director of the Center for Reading and Language Research. The director
Maryanne Wolf states, the fragility of the brain s ability to read with the kind of sustained attention

The Civil War
The Civil War
During both the civil war and civil war reconstruction time periods, there were many changes going
on in the Union. The Emancipation Proclamation, as well as legislation such as the thirteenth,
fourteenth and fifteenth amendments, was causing a new awakening of democracy; while the
renouncing of secession by the South marked a definite triumph for Nationalism. As well, the
government was involved in altercations of its own. During reconstruction, the legislative and
executive branches eventually came to blows over the use of power. The nation was being altered by
forces which caused, and later repaired, a broken Union.
The first of these forces , was the expansion of democracy. As early as 1862, ... Show more content on

Congress and the president began dueling over power distribution starting at about the time of Andrew
Johnson s presidency. Johnson became president after Lincoln s death and immediately set the tone for
the rest of his dealings with Congress. His plan for reconstruction was much to relaxed for radical
Republicans in Congress, and Johnson lacked the diplomatic abilities of
Lincoln. Johnson did prescribe loyalty oaths for southern whites if they were to receive pardon and
amnesty, he did exclude high confederate officials from that allowance, and he did require a state
convention of state leaders loyal to the Union to elect new congressional delegates. Johnson did not,
however include some provisions being called for by Congress. His plan recommended, but did not
require, the repeal of secession ordinances and repudiation of secession, repudiation of the
Confederate debt, and the ratification of the thirteenth amendment. These points absent from the
Johnson program were the instigation congress needed to take charge of reconstruction. The first step
by Congress, against Johnson, was taken in December 1865. Under Johnson s program, southern
representatives had been elected to Congress. A majority of congress voted to refuse accepting the
delegates, and appointed a committee to begin work on reconstruction. In 1866, Congress overrode a
presidential veto for the

Carrie Underwood Research Paper
Carrie Underwood
Coming from a small town in Oklahoma, Carrie Underwood never thought she would become country
music s next big thing, but that is exactly what happened. However, even after being named
Entertainer of The Year, Carrie Underwood always remembered to remain true and to give back her to
fans, and hometown.
Carrie Underwood is a country music singer, tv actress, and her own songwriter. On March 10, 1983,
Carrie Marie Underwood was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was raised in Checotah, by her
mother Carole, and her father, Stephen (Knapp). Growing up in the country, she enjoyed things like
playing on dirt roads, climbing trees, and of course singing (Fabian). Carrie was an excellent student,
she attended Checotah Public Schools and graduated high school in 2001, as the Salutatorian. Carrie
later attended Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to major in mass
communication. In 2006, she graduated with a Bachelors degree (Knapp). However, Carrie was more
than a thriving student, she was also a growing singer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

however; the country music industry shunned it because it was to pop (La Bella 33). Even though
Carrie started out her career by being shunned, she was determined to win a lot more

The Importance Of Binge Viewing
What comes to mind when I think of binge watching? I guess, in a very technical sense, its watching
more than a couple episodes of something. I see the term, less connected with watching movies. I
suppose you could binge watch movies, but I think that the term has more connotations with television
programs rather than movies. To me, I think binge watching implies that you are watching multiple
episodes of some kind of series.
I don t know, I don t think there is any, and maybe there is, in a scholastic scenes, but I don t think that
there is any hard and fast definition of watching this amount or these amount of episodes for this long,
equals binge watching. I think, it s more of a, I have some time to devote to this, I don t necessarily ...

Interviewer: Yeah.
Michael: But that is sort of the only interactivity that I have, I suppose.
Interviewer: Cool, so, you have said that you have been watching TV for quite some time now in your
life and that obviously advertising when you were growing up were these traditional commercial
interactions, have you noticed, if at all, how advertising has changed throughout that period or what
comes to mind?
Michael: You know, that is a tough question. I don t think that I have really noticed, necessarily a
change in advertising, but it may just be that my level of engagement with it has never been high to
begin with. So, it s possible that it has gotten sort of more sophisticated then when I was much
younger, but again, my level of engagement was never that high to begin with, so I don t think that I
ever really thought about it or how it has changed, but I am sure it has, in some ways.

that? Can you ever binge watch with

(2015). Foundations of Social Media Marketing. Thousands Oaks, CA: Sage Publications, Ltd.
I think group deals are very effective for one it helps the consumer save money depending on what is
being advertised. Everyone has different taste and different needs when it comes to purchasing power
especially with social media being in the rise and influencing the way we make purchase products.
According to (Tuten and Solomon), social media open exciting new windows for marketing research.
Whether to collect insights for the discovery stage of the creative process or to gather ideas for new
product development, social media provide new tools to listen to customers as they discuss their lives,
interests, needs, and wants . I am a huge shopper on Groupon and I like that I can save money on most
name brand products I am interested in and searching for. I often wondered how are deal sights able to
utilize so many products to advertise and sell at a good price. I realize that after so long so many
companies begin to drop prices and if it does not sell like in most discounted stores they send the
product to deal sights. The biggest investment for a marketer in my opinion is to find out what is
popular, what is the consumer wanting to purchase, and what is the hottest product to market. I think
the biggest job for any company is figure out what the people want, I mean take cell phones, we all

players influence people of all ages, especially young athletes starting the sport.

This explains how you don t really need and education to play the sport Major league sports is one of
the few areas remaining in American life where a college education is of little importance and won t
determine whether you qualify for the job or how much money you make. In fact, acquiring a college
degree could reduce your earnings because all athletes have a limited number of peak earning years,
and getting a BA takes up four of them. in this quote it also explains that people who go to college
lose their peak earning years because getting a degree can take 2 4 years. Which already takes those
years when a person is at their physical best. The education process to make it in the mlb is not a
deciding factor to weather a person makes it or doesnt. The player needs to be in great physical shape
and have great coordination training will improve a players skills if they train hard everyday. The
game of baseball is more mental than anything else players need to know what is going to happen
before the ball is even in play. Training needed is a big deciding factor on who makes the team or not
because they are going to pick a person with more training over more education all day long. This
explains the training involved in being a pro baseball player. As a professional baseball player

Donald Super Theory
In 1980, Donald Super introduced a theory that described career development in terms of life stages
and life roles. Super was one of the first theorists to discuss the constantly evolving nature of career
development, and the importance of finding a balance between career and personal life. Super s
developmental model emphasized how personal experiences interact with occupational preferences in
creating one s self concept. Super discussed how each of us progress through various life and career
development stages, including growth, exploration, establishment, maintenance, and disengagement.
He also discussed that each of us take on different roles as we go through life, such as a child, student,
leisurite, citizen, worker, parent, and spouse. Each of these roles has an impact on our personal and
professional development, and on our work/life balance. Finally, his archway of career determinants
detailed how both personality characteristics (intelligence, needs, values) and societal characteristics
(labor market, school, family) influence our career choices and have a major impact on our career
development. Super s Life and Career Development Stages Donald Super s theory of career
development focuses on the different stages people progress through as they go through life, and how
these stages correlate with important events and career choices. During growth (birth 14 years), people
grow physically and begin to form ideas of their self worth. During this time, many people

New York Coaches Case Study
The New York Jets are actively pursuing free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins. With four quarterbacks
expected to go early in the 2018 NFL Draft, here s why Gang Green should not waste their time
signing him.
At the start of the 2018 season, quarterback Kirk Cousins will be 30 years of age. The average career
span of an NFL quarterback with at least one Pro Bowl appearance is 11.7 years as provided by
Statista. Cousins would enter his seventh pro season in 2018. Which would give him five more
seasons left in his NFL career, according to the study.
Some of the past great quarterbacks declined in play at the age of 37. As a study by the Boston Globe
showed. Players such as Dan Marino, John Elway, and Brett Favre all declined in play. Except for the
great Tom Brady, who is still on top of his game at 40. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The objective the New York Jets would want if they signed Cousins, would be to win their second
Super Bowl championship. The one goal that has neglected the organization since 1968.
After the career year that former Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had in which he led a team full of
high priced veteran players one game away from making the NFL playoffs back in 2015, things weren
t ever the same. The organization recognized that going all out and spending every penny the team had
left in cap space was not the way to success and committed themselves to rebuilding reconstructing
with youth.
In an article written by Eric Allen of NewYorkJets.com, owner Woody Johnson stated the following in
regards to this:
If you want to go to the promise land, you have to go in a certain direction. I think what we have done

A Brief Note On The And Non Technical Lawyers
It is almost impossible to have all 15 lawyers in a room at the same time. The team will come up with
a strategy to meet with all 15 lawyers and get their inputs. An online form will be created to gather
information from the lawyers. A secure link will be emailed to the lawyers to be able to access the
form. My team wants to know about the issues they had in the past, how did they solve them, whom
they contacted to solve the issues, and how the lawyers solve technical problems with their equipment.
In the scenario. There are two groups of lawyers. One group has some technical skills and understands
basic networking, and the other group does not understand anything about technology. We had a
meeting with the technical lawyers and collected data from them, then we had a meeting with the non
technical lawyers to gather data from them. The non technical lawyers do not comprehend technology,
and technical lawyers understand technology a bit better. The non technical lawyers have less skills
and need more attention. We want to make sure the non technical lawyers have the necessary
knowledge to address issues. My team welcomes open communication because it is a key to get more
information. Moreover, my team will have one on one meetings and group meetings with lawyers.
One on one meetings encourage some lawyers to express themselves freely and ask any questions they
want. Perhaps in groups, non technical lawyers might think the question is too stupid to ask, and they

Discussing The Intricate And Intimate Connections Between...
1. Why does Sommers discuss the intricate and intimate connections between herself, her daughters
and her parents on pages 293 295? Why does she look at her family? She says that Love (as well as
writing) involves a radical loss of certainty (295). How does that loss of certainty apply to writing as
well as relationships in Sommers experience? Because of Sommers love for reading often alludes to
her family life, she is able to introduce the reader to her family and her thoughts behind words in a
neat fashion. I assume that her family life has really shaped her as a person. I think she wants to be be
able to absorb lots of information from the world around her. She says, I want to understand these
living, breathing, primary sources all around me. (295). This quote is important because, it shows the
type of mindset Sommers is in. Her mindset, being one that is willing to be open to new discoveries
and different perspectives. She looks at her family for inspiration from the world. She makes
connections between her family members, the things she s learned from books and other sources
shaping her as a person. She often pondered to herself when her daughter asked for typically feminine
items like makeup, thinking if there is an underlying meaning to it. As a result she states, Love (as
well as writing) involves a radical loss of certainty (295). She shows her readers this loss of certainty
in her family life, as well as in her writing throughout the whole text

The Impact Of The Mental Health Act
The Mental Health Act R.S.O. (1990) is a comprehensive piece of provincial legislation which
regulates mental health care in Ontario. Although it can be assumed that the legislation applies to all
mental health services and supports (Schizophrenic Society of Ontario, 2013), the laws described in
the Mental Health Act ( MHA ) apply only to psychiatric units in hospitals, and specialized psychiatric
facilities within the province (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health [CAMH], 2012), and to the
patients who are under observation, care or treatment in these facilities or under a community
treatment order (Mental Health Act, 1990). Although amendments have been made (Ontario. Ministry
of Health and Long Term Care, 2015), there are issues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These amendments include references to disordered behaviour, thought, or perception that severely
impairs judgement or capacity, of which psychiatric intervention is advised (Involuntary Psychiatric
Treatment Act, 2005). The broad definition contained within the MHA leaves the term mental disorder
open to interpretation, which may result in inconsistencies among Ontario psychiatric admissions.
According to the Mental Health Act (1990), a community treatment order offers a less restrictive
alternative to being held in a psychiatric unit or facility. Introduced to the MHA in 2000, a community
treatment order is a comprehensive plan of community based care that sets out the criteria for the
management and treatment of psychiatric outpatients (Byrick, K., Walker Renshaw, B., 2016).
However, research by Mfoafo M Carthy and Williams (2010) has suggested that community treatment
orders are unethical. Under a community treatment order, treatment typically requires an individual to
comply with medications that a physician believes is necessary for their normal function in the
community (Ontario. Ministry of Heath and Long Term Care, 2016). The MHA has been termed
unconstitutional based on its violation of the human right to life and liberty by mandating that an
individual participate in outpatient treatment (Picard, 2013), including medication compliance.
Apprehensions under the MHA attempt to divert an individual with a mental

The Negative Effects Of Technology
The use of technology varies amongst different age groups, often used for productive means, but there
is also a negative side of technology usage. With the advancement of technology, technology is
considered as survival tools for humans. These generally make life easier and helps humans be extra
productive. Moreover, Adults harness the power of technology to solve complex problems. Usually,
this can only be done with the aid of a computer. Another arena of technology use is for school, both,
parents and teachers believe technology helps enhance learning. Although technology is meant to be
useful in different scenarios, it does not always mean it is healthy. For example, as suggested in a
study Students who use less technology, score higher on reading exam versus those who use
technology above the average (Bremmer, 2016). Society has evolved to misuse technology in many
unhealthy ways; these negative uses have many ramifications for individuals.
With the advancement of technology, communication is far more convenient for today s society,
especially with long distance relationships. People with family, friends, and loved ones who are miles
away now can video chat easily through apps, on their devices, such as FaceTime or Skype. For
example, when parents cannot make it to their kid s soccer game because they are on the other side of
the world, FaceTiming or Skyping are great solutions. Or if a flight is canceled or missed for a
business trip, the company has the opinion

I learned quite a few things from my interview with Andrea. Some good and some not so much, but
overall I was able to listen and learn about a different form of social work, and the work and situations
that she goes through. The person I interviewed, Andrea Gregert, is a longtime friend who went to the
University of Pennsylvania, studied psychology, and now works and teaches at UC Berkeley. She s
had extensive training in clinical psychology, and has experience in substance abuse and counseling.
Andrea told me that the feeling of wanting to help others has always been with her. When I asked her
what helped her decide on being a social worker her response was that someone in her early life had a
problem with substance abuse and it affected her because she didn t know how to help them at the
time. Her wanting to help her friend pushed her to complete her doctorate in clinical psychology. I
know it must have been a difficult journey to complete her education. She knew then that she could
make a difference with the education that she received. She left me with a very passionate feeling
about the field, and I m glad that I had the ability to interview her.
Firstly, she went right into the dialogue that you have, and build off of with a patient (especially
substance abuse ones), and how difficult it can sometimes be

Jacobite Wars
During the time after the Jacobite Wars, Ireland began to grow a significant amount of enmity for the
Westminster Parliament. The distaste for English presence grew rapidly among the Irish; Irish began
to take part and support the colonies in the race for freedom among the British rule. Irish Protestants
form militias of Volunteers , united Protestants and Catholics form the United Irishmen. During this
time the irish cause mayhem and upheavals throughout the land in a yearn for separateness from
British Rule.
Due to the undeniable disorder associated with the Jacobite Wars, Ireland resulted in a large
demographic shift. Protestant English landholders had been accumulating Irish land due to the
financial needs associated with the war having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
p.201 Alike, Ireland and the colonies were both under the Westminster parliament s ideals due to
Westminster holding the right to legislate for both parties. Ireland also recognized that many of the
colonists were simply emigrants from Ireland, specifically from Ulster. Due to the potential danger
that France and Spain could have on Ireland, now that Irish troops were sent to ally the colonies it left
the Irish shore, short on security for themselves. In response Protestants formed volunteer corps,
volunteering provoked political activity along with creating an outlet for patriotism and opportunities
for conviviality. The volunteer corps created a massive shift in power; armed force was no longer
controlled by the government but by the politically minded public. This created an even larger
political issue, it seemed as if the volunteers were waiting around the corner, parading and exclaiming
for free trade. When the British Government finally decided to conciliate Ireland in 1779, it was far
too late. The Volunteers were now moving for an even larger shift, they were out for change. The
Protestants of Ireland were fighting for Irish Parliament, which had many limitations on the powers of
the Irish parliament placed on by Poyning s Law and against the act of 1720 declaring that British
Parliament had the right to legislate for Ireland.

Body Stereotyping Within The Media

course you could stand to lose a few pounds. This was said by an individual struggling with bulimia.
The public is presented with thin, tall, muscular, and perfectly fit people in the media such as
magazines or television shows, making people with a more natural body image feel insecure and
unpleased with their body type. The media is promoting body stereotypes and it is negatively affecting
the public. The media displays the average man as being hairless and very well built which may
negatively affect the male population. Body stereotyping in the media can lead to body dysmorphia.
Body dysmorphia is common among the younger generation because they are more adept at using
social media. The media displays the average man as being hairless and very well built which may
negatively affect the male population. The public blames the media and celebrities for supporting the
idea of the ideal body type. Both men and women want slim, fit bodies. But the media has turned both
genders against each other making it a competition, which is negatively affecting the public ( Body
image concerns more men than women, research finds ). According to Chris Godsey, emphasis on
male physical beauty in the media may contribute to negative body image in boys and young men. He
contends that repeated images of perfectly sculpted, hairless male torsos

International Adoption Analysis
Differing Viewpoints
The process of International Adoption raises passionate emotions and arguments on different factors
involving the process. Although organizations and groups are present in support of mainly the
proponent side, some are swayed by policies involved. Bethany Christian Services believes in
performing international adoptions as long as they follow the U.S policy involving court s consent and
the foreign countries policy. Whereas UNICEF will only perform international adoptions if the process
is done through the Hague Convention.
One group that clearly represents the common mission of International Adoption is Bethany Christian
Services (BCS). Through their ministries they aid to foreign children in over eighty locations
(www.buildingyourfamily.com, 1998 2016). With their large amount of locations they are able to
reach children and families all over the country, not only physically but emotionally as well. Bethany
Christian Services states, We feel it is our job to provide ministries for orphans and vulnerable
children (www.buildingyourfamily.com, 1998 2016). Because of their stance, they have taken many
actions towards this law. Those actions being: providing ministry, adoption services, pregnancy and
family counseling, foster care programs, refugee services, orphan care, and an infertility ministry

The Most Premorable Experience Of Camping At Avesta Pampanda
Cold air. Dark night. Bright stars. It s only once in a lifetime, and I know that you will never regret
this. Camping is one of the memorable event I ve ever been. Last January 2016, the most awaited
experience of a Grade 10 student happened in Avesta Pampanga. Each one of us was really excited
and you could see their biggest smiles on their faces. When we arrived in the place, everyone looked
for their own designated spot to build the tent. On our group, we located it near the playground.
Whenever we have free time, my friends and I spent some time and enjoyed each other company in
this place. We were like kids who used to feel so much fun to play in the swing and seesaw. After that,
we prepared ourselves in the first activity, which was to harvest rice crops in the field. Around two in
the afternoon, we started to walk and straightly went to the farm field without wearing our slippers.
Initially, everyone felt uncomfortable because of the heat from the sun. There was a man who guided
and taught us the proper handling in the tool, which we used through for harvesting the rice grain. It
was a great experience, I realized that the farmers really sacrifice themselves just to provide rice that
is very important in our daily meal, and I really learned that I should not waste food ... Show more

the best feeling ever, opening up your kept thoughts in your mind. After that, we proceeded in the tent

breeze that night and I suggested them not to turn off the flashlight, because I can t sleep without any
light. Then, the next day we rise up at 5 in the morning and prepared our things for our leaving in the

Descriptive Essay About Music
It is the last weekend of October in New Orleans, Voodoo Festival is here and the locals are dressed to
impress in the most bizarre costumes and makeup for the fun of the greatest weekend of their lives.
Tourist along with new comers take selfies with groups of friends around the large white Voodoo
lettering past the front entrance that has a line wrapped around City Park. Past the shopping stands and
mini bars on the way to the stage there are more sculptures from local artist leading the passageway
for festival goers. Thousands of unfamiliar faces walk toward the five stages all conversing, making a
loud buzz of chatter. Beyond the gates of Voodoo, society is divisive and cruel, but one common
interest that brings people from all backgrounds together. Music. Music festivals unite people into a
community where there are different genres of music, opportunity to meet new people, and to discover
new music. The artist performing varies from the five stages, their scheduled time are spread out
during the three day weekend of music. A girl with neon socks covered in glitter from head to toe
wearing fairy wings on her back, is speaking obnoxiously to her friend wearing almost the exact

The Importance Of Adoption In America
Adoption in America
There are many women who, unfortunately, cannot conceive. These women suffer far beyond
infertility. There are also many children who are awaiting adoption, suffering. Families seeking to
adopt are looking for children because most can t have their own. Some families seeking to adopt just
want to offer these children a better life and give them a forever home. Adoption is a good deed, you
re putting children in homes and giving them love that they desire. Families on a tighter income who
cannot conceive probably wouldn t be able to afford to adopt, which is heart breaking. There are so
many children who will never know the love of a parent due to how difficult it is to adopt in America.

Tennyson s The Arrow And The Charge Of The Light Brigade
Out of all the poems Tennyson wrote, The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade was the ones
that have been selected. Tennyson was one of the greats that came from the Victorian era. Tennyson
wasn t just known for being a poet, he was also known for writing plays and music. There will be
some comparing and contrasting of The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade on the poetic
devices Tennyson used and what inspired him to write both these poems. Tennyson was inspired to
write The Eagle when he went to the mountain. Even though The Eagle was a short poem, it had a lot
of imagery. He clasps the crag with crooked hands a good use of imagery in this poem. It is also a
metaphor because Tennyson wrote it as if the eagle had hands like a human. It explained about how
the eagle lives in its natural habitat. The Eagle had a rhyme scheme of (a, a, a) which is a triple rhyme,
where the stanzas have three lines and they all rhyme. The poem also contains alliteration and simile.
And like a thunderbolt he falls is a simile that was used that could be used to describe the eagle
falling. In all cases we would think Tennyson meant the eagle was falling fast like a thunderbolt but he
wasn t. Although the unwary reader might associate the swift, downward flight of the eagle with a
lightning bolt, Tennyson does not use this term (Jackson 26). He was wording it as the sound of the
rock landing a thunderbolt (Jackson 26). The poem uses alliteration such as He

Analysis Of A Lesson Before Dying
I agree with the statement, At the end of A Lesson Before Dying, desolation prevails over consolation,
because the last chapters of A Lesson Before Dying had a negative and depressing tone. According to
Sidney deRogers, He didn t pay any close attention to the black truck with the gray tarpaulin cover,
but he would tell the people at the Rainbow Club that he did feel a cold chill when the truck went by.
Basically, Sidney is saying that he felt that something was awry, or that something wrong or evil was
in that truck. The whole town knew what was happening that day and everyone had an opinion,
whether that opinion was indifferent, uneasy, or disgusted/sickened by what was going to happen on
that day. Grant says that It was a nice day. Blue sky. Not a cloud, but there was an overlying notion of
sorrow and fear that laid over everyone in the quarter. One could argue that the end of A Lesson
Before Dying prevailed with consolation rather than desolation since according to Paul, He was the
strongest man in that crowded room, Grant Wiggins. Paul s point is that Jefferson died a man as a
result of Grant. Despite what someone might say, I still consider this argument to be wrong
considering that Grant is still upset because Jefferson did not have a Jury of his peers; everyone on
that jury was white and had no concern for Jefferson s life. At the end, it seems to me that Grant feels
alone since he has spent much of the past six months with Jefferson. He developed a strong

Why Is Lacrosse Important
Lacrosse
Got your help!!!!!! That s what lacrosse players say the majority of the time when playing lacrosse.
They say this when they are open for a pass or want the ball. The sport of lacrosse should be in the
olympics. To support my position I will Give you a description of the game, the popularity of the
game and finally a counterarguement that I will fight.
In this paragraph I will give you a desription of the game of lacrosse. First according to the article
named lacrosse the sport is played on a field 60 70 yards x 110 yards. This proves useful because it
means it can be played on a soccer field that is already made. All you would have to do would be to
add 5 yard extensions to each end of the field. The next reason is based on the time length of the
game. According to the article titled NCAA Rules for Men s Lacrosse there is four 15 minute quarters
and a 10 minute halftime with 2 minutes in between every quarter. It also has a overtime of 4 minutes
but can go on longer if there is still a tie. That means it has a total time of 78 minutes including
everything except the time after the overtime. That is shorter than a soccer game in the olympics. So
basically it would nt take up much time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the article titled History of Lacrosse it is one of the world s fastest growing sports with
500,000 players. This means that it would draw big crowds if it were in the olympics which means
more profits for the people running the olympics and for people with businesses near where they are
hosting the olympics. Next according to the article titled National Lacrosse Participation Grows 3.5
Percent in 2014 they said that in the International Lacrosse World Championship, 38 countries played.
This means that by the time it is an olympic sport we will probably fill the number of required
countries that compete in a summer olympic

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is also predicted that homelessness among seniors will rise by 33 percent from 2010 to 2020. According to the SFgate.com article California seniors have highest poverty rate, senior poverty levels stared to rise again in 2008 economic collapse, during which many seniors lost their jobs, homes, savings and pensions. I believe the Personal Income Tax Law should be implemented not just in California but in all the United States. Many of our senior citizens work very hard for so many years to end up living in poverty. In some cultures the elderly are honor and respected because of their age. Somehow I see that in our time and age that respect and honor to our seniors is being lost. They deserve to get as much help as they need to survive and live a decent life in their most vulnerable age. So I do agree with laws that give our seniors the opportunity to live a joyful life without the worry of living in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both Anne Frank from The Diary of Anne Frank and Gerda Klein from Gerda Weissman Klein have. They both were in the horrendous holocaust trying to survive. Their methods of survival were much different Gerda, trying to survive by doing what the green police said hoping to avoid the consequences of hiding and breaking the law.Anne however decided to hide as soon as the green police started enforcing the laws that restricted Jewish rights. • 4. Bluffing by Gail Helgason and The Prospector s Trail by... Relationships can have positive and negative outcomes, one has to overcome and improve and change to succeed in a positive relationship. As Richard M. Devos once said Money cannot buy peace of mind. It cannot heal ruptured relationships, or build meaning into a life that has none. In the short story Bluffing by Gail Helgason money and communication show the importance of a successful relationship in Liam s and Gabriella s life. On the other hand in the short story The Prospectors Trail by Cathy Jewison money and communication were one of the conflicts throughout. The thesis of this essay is one should put their own opinions and views before others. In The short story Bluffing one of the problems is that Jennifer is fairly demanding of her own wants and needs about starting a new life in Yellowknife which can be shown by when she is in the tent talking to Norman as she says I give it six weeks to labour day (Jewison 24). This quotation emphasis Jennifer s own wants as she is very demanding of her wants. The other problem Norman on the other hand, is not as self conceited as his partner when his own ideas are to find work. Whereas Jennifer stated she was only going to give it 6 weeks. But Norman still wants to find a job and give living a life outside the city a try this can be apparent by when he is talking to Roy around the fire about work as Norman says I want to start a tourist operation (Jewison 22). This quotation suggests that Norman s views of being out ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Effect The Molarity Of Sucrose Solution Has On Osmolarity Title: The effect the molarity of sucrose solution has on osmolarity Introduction: Passive transport occurs when substances move from high concentration areas to a lower concentration region. Both Diffusion and Osmosis are examples of passive transport, however, osmosis is when water molecules move across a selectively permeable membrane. The plasma membrane, being a thin barrier to outside environment, is a selectively permeable membrane. Thus, it only allows certain particles to enter or exit the cell. A selectively permeable membrane is important because it protects the cell from certain materials that can potentially be toxic to the cell by not allowing the cell to diffuse uniformly; this means that not all particles can equally facilitate to the cell (encyclopedia ,n.d.). The movement of substance across a membrane is caused by two factors, their size and charge (Pearson Education, 2008). If a substance is small and nonpolar it can easily move but if it s large and polar, it will have difficulty traveling across the membrane. For example, the selectively permeable membrane allows water, which is known as solvent, to move freely but prevents large molecules such as sugar molecules from passing through; the sugar molecules are known as solute (BBC, 2014). However, facilitated diffusion can help the molecules that cannot pass through the cell membrane by themselves. Facilitated diffusion can help these molecules due specialize proteins such as the channel protein and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Causes And Impacts Of British Petroleum On April 20, 2010, British Petroleum s (BP) offshore drilling rig, the Deepwater Horizon, exploded and caused the largest accidental marine oil spill in history, discharging five million barrels of oil into the ocean over a period of three months. During this accident, eleven men working on the oil rig perished and seventeen others were injured severely. This crisis caused major destruction to marine wildlife caused economic harm on fishing and tourism industries and was a public relations nightmare for British Petroleum (Crandall, Parnell Spillan, 2013). This event was horrendous; I remember the devastation that was left in the wake of this tragedy. Beginning in the 1980 s, offshore oil production showed to be a solution for the United States energy issues and national security. In the beginning, the wells were in shallow water, but once these wells were dry, drilling in the deeper water began. Although there were drawbacks, such as the difficulty to drill and operate a well at such tremendous depths and because of these depths robots would have to troubleshoot maintenance problems instead of humans. Additionally, in deep waters, special drilling rigs are needed. There are two types of drilling rigs, the drillship, and the semi submersible. The Deepwater Horizon was a semi submersible rig that was used to excavate the well on the Macondo slope in the Gulf of Mexico. Once the excavation was done, another rig would arrive to extract the oil. Companies like British ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Analysis Of Literary Analysis In Ulysses By Lord Alfred... Literature and poetry in particular have the potential to make profound impressions on their readers. In the poem Ulysses by Lord Alfred Tennyson, the speaker Ulysses argues for his mariners to come back out to sea. Karen Prior s article How Reading Makes Us More Human argues how reading makes one more human. On the other hand, Tennyson makes his argument through Ulysses, as he talks to his mariners while Prior makes her argument to teachers of higher of education. While Tennyson and Prior both use rhetorical situations to persuade their audiences, Prior connects to her audience better by citing compelling and exhaustive research, eliciting sympathy from her audience through her narrative voice, and establishing her credibility by using personal examples and research. Prior s uses captivating evidence in her article in order to persuade the audience that reading makes one more human. For example, Prior takes research from psychologists from York University and University of Toronto which states [people] who read fiction appear to be better able to understand other people, empathize with them and view the world from their perspective (para. 2). With the use of notable research, the reader starts to question if reading does make one more human. Prior then goes on to use research done by the director of the Center for Reading and Language Research. The director Maryanne Wolf states, the fragility of the brain s ability to read with the kind of sustained attention that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Civil War The Civil War During both the civil war and civil war reconstruction time periods, there were many changes going on in the Union. The Emancipation Proclamation, as well as legislation such as the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth amendments, was causing a new awakening of democracy; while the renouncing of secession by the South marked a definite triumph for Nationalism. As well, the government was involved in altercations of its own. During reconstruction, the legislative and executive branches eventually came to blows over the use of power. The nation was being altered by forces which caused, and later repaired, a broken Union. The first of these forces , was the expansion of democracy. As early as 1862, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Congress and the president began dueling over power distribution starting at about the time of Andrew Johnson s presidency. Johnson became president after Lincoln s death and immediately set the tone for the rest of his dealings with Congress. His plan for reconstruction was much to relaxed for radical Republicans in Congress, and Johnson lacked the diplomatic abilities of Lincoln. Johnson did prescribe loyalty oaths for southern whites if they were to receive pardon and amnesty, he did exclude high confederate officials from that allowance, and he did require a state convention of state leaders loyal to the Union to elect new congressional delegates. Johnson did not, however include some provisions being called for by Congress. His plan recommended, but did not require, the repeal of secession ordinances and repudiation of secession, repudiation of the Confederate debt, and the ratification of the thirteenth amendment. These points absent from the Johnson program were the instigation congress needed to take charge of reconstruction. The first step by Congress, against Johnson, was taken in December 1865. Under Johnson s program, southern representatives had been elected to Congress. A majority of congress voted to refuse accepting the delegates, and appointed a committee to begin work on reconstruction. In 1866, Congress overrode a presidential veto for the ... • 11. The Importance Of Binge Viewing What comes to mind when I think of binge watching? I guess, in a very technical sense, its watching more than a couple episodes of something. I see the term, less connected with watching movies. I suppose you could binge watch movies, but I think that the term has more connotations with television programs rather than movies. To me, I think binge watching implies that you are watching multiple episodes of some kind of series. I don t know, I don t think there is any, and maybe there is, in a scholastic scenes, but I don t think that there is any hard and fast definition of watching this amount or these amount of episodes for this long, equals binge watching. Michael: But that is sort of the only interactivity that I have, I suppose. Interviewer: Cool, so, you have said that you have been watching TV for quite some time now in your life and that obviously advertising when you were growing up were these traditional commercial interactions, have you noticed, if at all, how advertising has changed throughout that period or what comes to mind? Michael: You know, that is a tough question. I don t think that I have really noticed, necessarily a change in advertising, but it may just be that my level of engagement with it has never been high to begin with. So, it s possible that it has gotten sort of more sophisticated then when I was much younger, but again, my level of engagement was never that high to begin with, so I don t think that I ever really thought about it or how it has changed, but I am sure it has, in some ways. This young lady s business is tailored towards body care; she sells all natural products which she hand makes. She specializes in soaps, body oil, and body scrubs. I love the products so much that I frequent the business quite often throughout the month. I think group deals are very effective for one it helps the consumer save money depending on what is being advertised. Everyone has different taste and different needs when it comes to purchasing power especially with social media being in the rise and influencing the way we make purchase products. According to (Tuten and Solomon), social media open exciting new windows for marketing research. Whether to collect insights for the discovery stage of the creative process or to gather ideas for new product development, social media provide new tools to listen to customers as they discuss their lives, interests, needs, and wants . I am a huge shopper on Groupon and I like that I can save money on most name brand products I am interested in and searching for. I often wondered how are deal sights able to utilize so many products to advertise and sell at a good price. I realize that after so long so many companies begin to drop prices and if it does not sell like in most discounted stores they send the product to deal sights. The biggest investment for a marketer in my opinion is to find out what is popular, what is the consumer wanting to purchase, and what is the hottest product to market. I think the biggest job for any company is figure out what the people want, I mean take cell phones, we all know that right now it Apple and Samsung, we all know that everyone have different ... • 14. Donald Super Theory In 1980, Donald Super introduced a theory that described career development in terms of life stages and life roles. Super was one of the first theorists to discuss the constantly evolving nature of career development, and the importance of finding a balance between career and personal life. Super s developmental model emphasized how personal experiences interact with occupational preferences in creating one s self concept. Super discussed how each of us progress through various life and career development stages, including growth, exploration, establishment, maintenance, and disengagement. He also discussed that each of us take on different roles as we go through life, such as a child, student, leisurite, citizen, worker, parent, and spouse. Each of these roles has an impact on our personal and professional development, and on our work/life balance. Finally, his archway of career determinants detailed how both personality characteristics (intelligence, needs, values) and societal characteristics (labor market, school, family) influence our career choices and have a major impact on our career development. Super s Life and Career Development Stages Donald Super s theory of career development focuses on the different stages people progress through as they go through life, and how these stages correlate with important events and career choices. During growth (birth 14 years), people grow physically and begin to form ideas of their self worth. During this time, many people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why does Sommers discuss the intricate and intimate connections between herself, her daughters and her parents on pages 293 295? Why does she look at her family? She says that Love (as well as writing) involves a radical loss of certainty (295). How does that loss of certainty apply to writing as well as relationships in Sommers experience? Because of Sommers love for reading often alludes to her family life, she is able to introduce the reader to her family and her thoughts behind words in a neat fashion. I assume that her family life has really shaped her as a person. I think she wants to be be able to absorb lots of information from the world around her. She says, I want to understand these living, breathing, primary sources all around me. (295). This quote is important because, it shows the type of mindset Sommers is in. Her mindset, being one that is willing to be open to new discoveries and different perspectives. She looks at her family for inspiration from the world. She makes connections between her family members, the things she s learned from books and other sources shaping her as a person. She often pondered to herself when her daughter asked for typically feminine items like makeup, thinking if there is an underlying meaning to it. Although it can be assumed that the legislation applies to all mental health services and supports (Schizophrenic Society of Ontario, 2013), the laws described in the Mental Health Act ( MHA ) apply only to psychiatric units in hospitals, and specialized psychiatric facilities within the province (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health [CAMH], 2012), and to the patients who are under observation, care or treatment in these facilities or under a community treatment order (Mental Health Act, 1990). These amendments include references to disordered behaviour, thought, or perception that severely impairs judgement or capacity, of which psychiatric intervention is advised (Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act, 2005). The broad definition contained within the MHA leaves the term mental disorder open to interpretation, which may result in inconsistencies among Ontario psychiatric admissions. According to the Mental Health Act (1990), a community treatment order offers a less restrictive alternative to being held in a psychiatric unit or facility. Introduced to the MHA in 2000, a community treatment order is a comprehensive plan of community based care that sets out the criteria for the management and treatment of psychiatric outpatients (Byrick, K., Walker Renshaw, B., 2016). However, research by Mfoafo M Carthy and Williams (2010) has suggested that community treatment orders are unethical. Under a community treatment order, treatment typically requires an individual to comply with medications that a physician believes is necessary for their normal function in the community (Ontario. Ministry of Heath and Long Term Care, 2016). The MHA has been termed unconstitutional based on its violation of the human right to life and liberty by mandating that an individual participate in outpatient treatment (Picard, 2013), including medication compliance. The person I interviewed, Andrea Gregert, is a longtime friend who went to the University of Pennsylvania, studied psychology, and now works and teaches at UC Berkeley. She s had extensive training in clinical psychology, and has experience in substance abuse and counseling. Andrea told me that the feeling of wanting to help others has always been with her. When I asked her what helped her decide on being a social worker her response was that someone in her early life had a problem with substance abuse and it affected her because she didn t know how to help them at the time. Her wanting to help her friend pushed her to complete her doctorate in clinical psychology. I know it must have been a difficult journey to complete her education. She knew then that she could make a difference with the education that she received. She left me with a very passionate feeling about the field, and I m glad that I had the ability to interview her. In response Protestants formed volunteer corps, volunteering provoked political activity along with creating an outlet for patriotism and opportunities for conviviality. The volunteer corps created a massive shift in power; armed force was no longer controlled by the government but by the politically minded public. This created an even larger political issue, it seemed as if the volunteers were waiting around the corner, parading and exclaiming for free trade. Tennyson was one of the greats that came from the Victorian era. Tennyson wasn t just known for being a poet, he was also known for writing plays and music. There will be some comparing and contrasting of The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade on the poetic devices Tennyson used and what inspired him to write both these poems. Tennyson was inspired to write The Eagle when he went to the mountain. Even though The Eagle was a short poem, it had a lot of imagery. He clasps the crag with crooked hands a good use of imagery in this poem. It is also a metaphor because Tennyson wrote it as if the eagle had hands like a human. It explained about how the eagle lives in its natural habitat. The Eagle had a rhyme scheme of (a, a, a) which is a triple rhyme, where the stanzas have three lines and they all rhyme. The poem also contains alliteration and simile. And like a thunderbolt he falls is a simile that was used that could be used to describe the eagle falling. In all cases we would think Tennyson meant the eagle was falling fast like a thunderbolt but he wasn t. Although the unwary reader might associate the swift, downward flight of the eagle with a lightning bolt, Tennyson does not use this term (Jackson 26).
