Renewable Energy Sources 1800s
Renewable energy sources started increase at early 1800 to late 1800s, being mainly wood. Water
mills played also important part at this growth. As energy source it reached peak around 1875, and
started decreasing when coal took his place as United states main energy source. Usage of renewable
energy sources decreased slowly till 1975 when new technology was developed. This new wave of
inventions brought for us solar, wind, geothermal and other new renewable energy sources. Usage
raised little and levelled off after 1975, still being least used source of energy with hydroelectric
power.
Coal usage started growth in early 1800s when first coal mines started operating. Coal produce more
heat per pound, being much more portable fuel. It passed

Standardized Test Discriminatory
Standardized tests are discriminatory because they don t take cultural backgrounds, experiences, or
personal lives into account, which leaves students at a disadvantage, which is why standardized tests
are more damaging than beneficial to students. According to www.commondreams.org, in New York
City, ELL students make up 14.4% of the student body population, and are expected to take a
standardized exam between 7 and 8 times before passing. Only about 39.1% of these students end up
graduating from school because the test doesn t take their backgrounds into account. They haven t
fully learned the language, or properly know the full american schooling system yet. When students
are put at this kind of disadvantage, this throws them a curveball,

Essay On Horse Slaughter
Horse slaughter and whether or not it should be legal in the US has been an ongoing debate. Horse
slaughter can be a touchy subject for people. People have very strong opinions about it whether you
are for it or against it. In this essay I will explain my views on the matter of Horse slaughter in the US.
Horses have been a part of man s life for a very long time. The relationship between man and horse
first began at the time of the horse s domestication between 4000 and 3500 B.C. They have been by
our side to help us complete agricultural tasks as well as recreational uses for thousands of years.
While the USDA may classify the horse as livestock, many Americans consider the horse to be
something more along the lines of a companion animal.

Richard Milhous Nixon s Father s Side Of The Family
Richard Milhous Nixon came from a family with a strong heritage. His father s side of the family were
Methodists originally from Scotland. Then, in the early 1600s, they migrated to Ireland, and to
America in the 1730s. His grandfather, George Nixon, died in the Battle of Gettysburg during the
Civil war. Richard s father, Frank Nixon, was born in Ohio. His mother died when he was only 7, and
he left home when he was only 14. He went from town to town doing odd jobs and eventually made
his way to California where he met his future wife, Hannah. Nixon s mother s side of the family was
originally from Germany. They then migrated to England around 1688, where they became Quakers.
From England they migrated to Ireland, and from Ireland to America. During the civil war they were
part of the underground railroad. Richard s mother, Hannah Milhous, was born in Indiana, but her
family moved and she grew up in Whittier, California, where she met Frank Nixon. They fell in love
at first sight, and were married four months later in June 1908. Frank converted to Quakerism. Frank
and Hannah s first son, Harold, was born in 1909, only a year after they were wed. In 1908, Frank
bought a lemon ranch in Yorba Linda, CA, and built a small house there. Then, on January 9, 1913,
Richard Milhous Nixon was born in that very house. Hannah and Frank would have three more
children: Donald (born in 1914), Arthur (born in 1918), and Edward (born in 1930). The

Communication And Cross Cultural Communication
The paradigm of culture is essential in the human day to day conversation of cross cultural
communication. To effectively and appropriately communicate with an individual of a different
culture an individual needs to fully understand the beliefs, norms and stereotypes affiliated with the
culture. The process of learning a language accompanies the positives and negatives of what is
acceptable within the culture in the context of communication. To equip and guide the learner,
simultaneously diffusing cultural assumptions which are considered untrue. This essay illuminates the
impact of cultural blunders, reviewing previous studies of effective communication and cross cultural
barriers in communication, supported by focus on the Chinese and French culture. Although a group is
not defined by its cultural expectations because individuals differ based on various influential factors.
On the other hand, it can also be argued that a part of cultural awareness entails knowledge of
behaviours and linguistics, which associates with stereotypes. The lack of zeal to learn about the
culture and lack of delve; results in an individual s reliance on stereotypes which may be informative
in outlying what may be acceptable within a specific group. However, can be of negative results
consequent to miscommunication between communicators of differing cultures. The areas of cultural
assumption, nonverbal communication, and face saving will be analysed thoroughly in reference to the

Genesis And Job Essay
In the Bible, the books of Genesis and Job, each give a description of the creation of heaven and earth.
They depict different views and styles but share the same idea that God is the creator. Genesis 1 2 is
the most popular and well known story that says God created everything in six days and the seventh
day was rest. In the book of Job 38 40, the concept of creation was told to Job in order to make him
understand why he was suffering and to perceive the ways of God.
The first chapter in Genesis defines the beginning as being majestic and analytical. It demonstrates a
limited description of how life will continue to be maintained in everyday growth and how the earth
will continue to bring food for all living things (Gen. 1:29 30). Genesis also suggest that the Creator
was a one time occurance at the beginning of time. It explains what God created each day and in
chapter 2 clarifies the creation of man and woman. On the other hand, Job provides imagery and
metaphors to help the human mind to wrap around the concept of how the universe was formed. For
example, God speaks to Job ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone? (Job 38:4 6). These descriptions are similar to the
first chapter of Genesis by saying God is all knowing and nothing can compare, And God said, Let
there be light, and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light
from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was
evening and there was morning, the first day (Genesis 1:3 5). Both chapters depict God s power and

Sonia Sotomayor Attenuation Essay
Sonia Sotomayor became the first Latina Supreme Court Justice in the United States when nominated
by President Barack Obama. She graduated from Yale Law School. She became a U.S District Court
Judge in 1992 and was bumped into the U.S Second Circuit Court of Appeals in 1997 by President
Bill Clinton. She was confirmed by the Senate that October. In addition to the Court of Appeals,
Sotomayor also began teaching law as an adjunct professor at New York University in 1998 and at
Columbia Law School in 1999. In June 2015, Sonia made history when she was among the majority in
two landmark Supreme Court rulings. She was one of six justices to uphold a critical component of

that the Utah Supreme Court adopted was an outstanding warrant doesn t implicate attenuation

free will. Sotomayor said this case was anything but small. Her opinion was that this case allows the
police to stop you on the street, demand your identification, and check it for outstanding traffic
warrants even if you are doing nothing wrong. Sotomayor is the first justice of Hispanic heritage that
has spoken extensively about how her personal experiences have influenced her private and public
life. She uses visceral language in her dissenting opinion to display the picture of the invasion of
privacy she believes this decision allows. Race plays a major role in Sotomayor s dissenting opinion.

The Lion And The Lion
Long ago, in a forest located near the edge of India, there lived a Lion and all of the animals that lived
in his kingdom. He was a mighty, courageous king who would do anything to protect all of the
animals. His huge mane swayed in the breeze as he stood outside of his castle. He knew that the
animals cared for each other in times of need no matter how big or how small. But, in his kingdom
there also lived a Serpent, who was the most slimiest, ugliest creature he had ever set his eyes upon.
Everyone in the village feared him and ran into their homes as soon as they saw him. It was the smell
of his skin, that made everyone run away, it was strong, like a rotten banana peel. The Serpent wanted
to be king, he was jealous of the Lion s noble personality and fame. He thought he should be famous,
not the Lion, he had nothing to be famous for! ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He would like to be King, but in a way so that the current King won t suspect anything. Many of the
animals knew about his jealousy but chose to stay quiet. As he pondered this, he found himself staring
at the other young snakes showing off their fangs. They shared a laugh as soon as they were done.
Even though they were snakes, they never felt greater than the other. He thought that they looked
ridiculous, his fangs were clearly better. Right there, the Serpent came up with a genius plan, to
become the King.
It s just perfect, he hissed loudly with a smirk on his face. The Lion would never think I would do this!
This last thought gave him a boost of energy as he hurried home. He was also awarded with a
confused look from the snakes, who slithered away from him suspiciously.
The next morning, the Serpent made his way to the Lion s castle. He was repeating what he was going
to say in his mind as he approached the guards. With a look of disgust the guards demanded for his
purpose with a hint of fear in their

The Social, Economic, and Political Implications of the...
The history of the conquest and colonization of the Americas is very complex. The social, economic,
and political issues and circumstances that took place many years ago are the foundation of who
America is today. Most Americans do not realize how many people were affected by immigration, or
understand the real struggles and sacrifices that the indigenous people and the colonists made for the
freedoms we have today. During these historical events, many cultural, social, and economical events
were impacted. Historical Contributions or Achievements The first American inhabitants are believed
to have migrated from Asia about 18,000 years ago. Many societies were built, and civilizations were
formed by the Aztec, Olmec, Mayan, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meanwhile, many people were killed or running for their lives. In1924, when the Border Patrol was
created, immigration was never viewed the same again. In 1929, the Stock Market crash, which was
the start of the great depression, and ended in 1941 with America s entry into World War II. There
were many other life changing events that have impacted the world not listed here, but with these
political, economical, and territorial changes, there comes displacement, poverty and many other
social changes, also. These changes are still impacting America today. (Carter, 2005). Impact on
Cultural Identity The cultural of indigenous and immigrant people have been greatly impacted by
America s historical events. The descendants of Spain and Mexico immigrants have since been
subjected to many cultural struggles. Today, many Chicano Americans do not know their heritage, or
do not identify with their ancestors. Traditions and customs are lost from one generation to the other.
Many victories were won in the name of Religion. Religion has also played an important role in the
history of America. The colonists came to America in order to have religious freedom, yet they
imposed their religion on the indigenous peoples. The colonists had religion in common; they
identified themselves as Christians . The indigenous peoples were viewed by colonists as savages, and
to try to civilize them. Many were killed, chased from their land, or taken into slavery (Noriega,
2010).

The Sport of Powerlifting
In any sport, many things are needed to achieve. The sport that asks a person to literally go beyond
what they can do is powerlifting. To do this, a person has to know the sport called powerlifting. He or
she must learn to adapt a new way of physical and mental training, breathing, and way of life. Since
the first professional competition in 1964, powerlifting has shown great feats of strength, power,
legends and dreams that have changed, How strong are you, actually implies (Hatfield 5).

known best as the first man to squat over 1,000 pounds in a competition. He achieved 1,014 at a
bodyweight of 255 pounds (American Strength Legends 2). He did this at the age of 45, as well. Even
more so, he could bench press 573 pounds and deadlift 766 pounds. All through his life, Fred was an
athlete, excelling in soccer, track, and gymnastics. He received many degrees associated with fitness
and sports training, now owning one of the largest personal training organizations in the world; the
International Sports Sciences Association. He has also trained the U.S.A. powerlifting squad and many
other world renowned athletes. Some other huge achievements of Dr. Hatfield were winning three
world powerlifting championships and setting thirty world and national records in five different
weight classes, something never done by any other lifter. Fred competed from the ‘70 s to this very
day at the age of almost sixty (American Strength Legends 2).

Dear Editor, Your article pertaining to the crimes against the older population was thorough and well
delivered. The elderly population is indeed becoming victimized on a larger scale than has been seen
in the past. This increase is a result of the growing number of seniors living in society with little
protection. Perhaps the most compelling part of your article was that of your question Who is
responsible for protecting these individuals? You pose quite a thought and emotion invoking question
and one which I could not help but share ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a family member is suspected of being the perpetrator of abuse, neglect, or exploitation they should
in fact not be involved in the seniors life but otherwise there should be a common sense rule that we
look out for our family members. Too often seniors refuse to report abuse, neglect, or crime against
them out of fear of losing independence. It is a common misconception that being victimized will
deem you unfit to live independently and will result in being placed in a facility of some sort. It is
important that seniors feel they can turn to those around them with concerns and incidents that occur.
In the event that a senior is not forthcoming with information there are a number of avenues that may
involve reporting of suspected incidents. Hospitals, doctors, community service organizations, and
long term care facilities can report suspected crimes to authorities or Department of Social Services in
an effort to protect the individual. If a senior cannot properly protect themselves then health care
professionals from all areas should have the ability to act on behalf of the individual to seek help but
not dictate the overall outcome as a result. For example: simply finding that a person has been a victim
of exploitation should not mean that a person be moved immediately into a facility forfeiting their
right to care for themselves. All facilities acting to protect a senior should aim to preserve senior

Music And Cinema Music
The music selected for silent films is an important process that can affect the audience s experience.
Many films rely on music to enhance the action on screen and assist in telling the story. Emilio
Audissino places music selection into two basic categories for silent film music: the first being cinema
music, which acts as a silence filler for the viewer, and the second is film music, with the goal to assist
the film s narrative. For many silent films. the music is primarily cinema music. However, there are
some silent films that rely heavily on music to help convey the action on screen. Metropolis (1927) is
one such film, which used music scored specifically for it.
Gottfried Huppertz began composing the leitmotifs for the score during the early stages of the
production of Metropolis. He created each character s leitmotif through interactions with the actors,
thus strengthening the music s relationship to the film s story. Audissino writes, He would be on the
set to develop the themes for each character as they took form in front of the cameras, and played
parts of the music for the actors to bring them into the proper mood. Huppertz s music became an
integral part of the film and decades later would assist in its restoration. When his original score was
replaced with music from other composers, this affected the film s narrative. Although other scores
could convey the general atmosphere of the film, they lacked the specific emotional connections of
Huppertz s

The Fundamental Forces in Nature
The fundamental forces in nature have been around for centuries. Tying everything together many
scientist and physicist have came about to help with the theories of these fundamental forces which
include gravitation, electromagnetism, strong, and weak forces. Physicist like Maxwell, Newton,
Fermi, Chadwick, and Kepler, have made a strong impact on how people see the world today. These
fundamental forces are what goes on in everyday life and what we still see till this day. The point we
are going to get to are the coming about of these theories and how they are seen in the outside world
and also in physics. In my paper I will be splitting up how the scientist/physicist came to contribute to
the fundamental forces and how each scientist came to contribute to the coming and discovery of each
force. In the second part of the paper I will be describing how each force strong and weak are used in
nature. These topics will help anyone in the search for information on the topic of forces that came to
be due to physics. History of the fundamental forces In 1605 Kepler published the laws of planetary
motion which included 3 laws. First law was that every planet is an ellipse with the sun. Second a line
segment connecting a planet and the sun sweeps out equal areas during equal intervals of time. Lastly
the third law which states that the time it takes for a planet to orbit the Sun increases rapidly
corresponding with the radius of the planets orbit. These laws came to help the

The Ambiguity of Shakespeare s Ambiguous Hamlet
Ambiguity of Hamlet
In Shakespeare s dramatic tragedy Hamlet, the reader finds ambiguity of one type and another here
and there throughout the play. The protagonist himself is an especially ambiguous character is his own
rite.
Harold Bloom in the Introduction to Modern Critical Interpretations: Hamlet expounds on the
ambiguity and mysterious conduct of the hero during the final act:
When Horatio responds that Claudius will hear shortly from, presumably that Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern have been executed, Hamlet rather ambiguously [my italics] makes what might be read
as a final vow of revenge:
It will be short. The interim is mine.

His first soliloquy illustrates the hero s idealism by emphasizing the worthlessness of the corrupt
world and the frailty of women, but gives no specific direction to his own life: O, that this too too
solid flesh would melt, / Thaw and resolve itself into a dew!
The first soliloquy ends with the arrival of Horatio, the hero s closest friend ( Horatio, thou art e en as
just a man / As e er my conversation coped withal. ), and Marcellus, who escort the prince to the
ramparts of Elsinore to view the ghost of Hamlet s father, King Hamlet, which they have seen. At one
a.m. the ghost, ironically a sinner suffering in Purgatory (West 110), reveals to the protagonist the
extent of the evil within Elsinore the human truth (Abrams 467).
The ghost says that King Hamlet was murdered by Claudius, who had a relationship with Gertrude
prior to the murder; the ghost requests revenge by Hamlet: Revenge his foul and most unnatural
murder. Hamlet swears to do it even though he is uncertain of the ghost s origin. Philip Edwards The
Ghost: Messenger from a Higher Court of Values? presents the ambiguity present in the agency of the
ghost when he relegates punishment to the king but reserves it from his wife (67). Gunnar Boklund, in
Judgment in Hamlet, explains that the nature of the Ghost

The Evolution of Animals Essay
The Evolution of Animals
Eukaryotes come in two grades of organization: single celled (protists) and multicellular (plants,
animals, and fungi). The world today is full of complex multicellular plants and animals: how, why,
and when did they evolve from protists?
Proterozoic Protists
A single celled eukaryote or protist can carry chlorophyll (it can be an autotrophic, photosynthetic,
alga ), it can eat other organisms (it can be an organotrophic, protozoan animal ), or it may do both.
Beginning about 1850 Ma, we find acritarchs, spherical microfossils with thick and complex organic
walls. They are probably dinoflagellates that spent most of their life floating in the plankton.
We know that a very diverse array of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Metazoans are not just multicellular, they have different kinds of cells that perform different functions.
Metazoans are most likely a clade, that is, they all descended from one kind of protist. All metazoans
originally had one cilium or flagellum per cell, for example. Metazoans also share the same kind of
early development. They form into infolded balls of internal cells which are often free to move, and
are covered by outer sheets of cells that form an external coating for the animal: a skin, if you like.
The first metazoans were soft bodied, and we have no fossil record of them. But we can look at the
tremendous variety of living animals and at the geologic record to try to reason out what the first
metazoans might have looked like and what they might have done.
There are only three basic kinds of metazoans: sponges, cnidarians, and worms. One can imagine
scenarios for the divergence of the three great metazoan groups. All of them solved the problem of
developing to larger size and complexity, but in different ways.
Sponges evolved by extending the choanoflagellate way of life to large size and sophisticated
packaging. They continued to pump water (and the oxygen and bacteria they take from it) through
their tissues, in internal filtering modules.
Cnidarians (or coelenterates), including sea anemones, jellyfish, and corals, are built mostly of sheets
of cells, and they exploit the large surface area of the

Motivation And Long Term Goals
Motivation and long term goals:
My desire to study at your reputed university is the result of nearly 3 years of step by step self
discovery of my abilities, aspirations, strengths and weaknesses as well as my perception of current
needs and goals. The notion of pursuing Masters in Computer Science grew stronger during my tenure
working at CAPGEMINI, a prominent French MNC where I worked as a Senior Software Developer
as well as a Business Analyst interacting with clients from the USA, Singapore, Malaysia as well as
India. This working period of nearly three years allowed me to learn a lot about how a business works,
the entire cycle how a software is developed, how people from various countries interact and decide as
a team the best solution for a problem. But, most importantly this proved to be a turning point in my
life where my abilities were tested and I grew confident about my inclination towards problem
solving, analysis and research. The realization dawned upon me I want to do a lot more by opting for
research work. I intend to solve real life problems or end up with a start up of my own through which I
can give back to the community. A prosperous career in computer science and engineering can only be
built above the firm foundation of a better education.
Background and achievements:
As a part of my of undergraduate curriculum in Computer Science, I was exposed to many inquisitive

Bullies Vs Dictators
Your typical school bully and a country s dictator, what s the difference? When asked this question
many said, One rules the school, while the other one rules a country. . The truth is, there are many
differences between the two, but with differences comes similarities. What are some differences
between these two tyrannical figures? First, we need to know what a dictator and a school bully is. A
dictator is a ruler with total power over a country. One of the most well known dictators is Adolf
Hitler. Adolf was a dictator who was considered the most terrifying man of his time . A school bully is
a person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate those who are weaker. Now that you know
the definitions of each, we can go on into the differences between the two. The most important
difference between the two is why they treat people inadequately. School bullies overpower people
because they feel insecure about themselves. Dictators, on the other hand, treat people atrociously
because they strive for power. The next difference is that a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The initial similarity is their personalities. School bullies and dictators have a conceited, haughty
personalities. Nevertheless, this makes them think they are superior. Secondly, a school bully and a
dictator abuse, control, intimidate, and force others. A school bully forces people to abide by their
rules, even if they are against the law. A dictator also forces people to act in accordance with their
laws. If they contravene, they will have to face the consequences. Ultimately, a school bully and a
dictator are both excellent speakers. Both figures can get themselves out of a sticky situation. When a
bully gets questioned by an administrator, they speak smoothly and often avoid getting punished.
Likewise, a dictator is very keen, therefore he has the ability to trick an entire population into
believing whatever he or she

My Learning Experience With A Radical Shake Up
Significant learning begins with a radical shake up
I grew up, together with my four siblings, at a small village in the Philippines. Everyone there knew
each other. In those days, I did not really think that I learned something meaningful that would affect
my life, but now I could say that I have a different perspective on learning . I ve realized so many
things from my experiences and I have seen life in a completely different perspective.
Growing up in a developing country gave me an opportunity to value things which I gave little
importance to. When you want to achieve anywhere in the world you need to be properly educated.
Meaningful learning occurs when students are faced in a problem posing environment.
Most Filipino families often define education as an investment placed on their children for them to
continuously grow and pursue success on their line of interest by achieving higher education. My
learning experiences in the Philippines are completely different from my learning experiences here in
the United States. In the article entitled Play Deficit, the author states that Children there spend more
time at their studies than US children, and they score higher on standardized international tests (Gray
6). Indeed, most of the students in the Philippines dedicate their life to learning and gaining more
knowledge. High school students have to go to school early. Classes start as early as seven or seven

Examples Of Satire In The Age Of Enlightenment

IB Literature Summer Assignment: The Age of Enlightenment A satire is a literary component in
which writers use to criticize and expose corruption and stupidity of a person or society by employing
the use of ridicule, humor, exaggeration, and irony. The novel Candide is an example of a satire.
Throughout the novel, Voltaire ridicules Candide s belief of the world as the best possible world in
order inform readers about the authority of reason in The Age of Enlightenment.
The Age of Enlightenment was an eighteenth century movement in which people focused on reason
and science as opposed to religion. Voltaire was an Enlightenment writer so he used his influence
through novels to convince people to be logical in making decisions rather than acting based on one s
religion.
Throughout the novel Candide, a young boy named Candide goes on extraordinary journeys believing
that everything happens for a reason. He learns this from an oracle named Pangloss who thinks that,
things cannot be otherwise than as they are; for all being created for an end, all is necessary for the
best end.

Voltaire alludes to this because in the end of the novel all the characters are living a manageable life
not a happy fulfilling one. One would thinks that through all the trials and tribulations, Candide and
his friends would all have a wonderful life but this is not the case. This is Voltaire s way of
emphasizing that life is not always satisfying and successful, and that several events do not always
bring an expected result. This is also a way for Voltaire to ridicule Candide for thinking that all is for
the best in the first

Upon the command of the Prophet his Companions would write down what was revealed of the Noble
Quran. They used, for this purpose, palm branches stripped of leaves, parchments, shoulder bones,
stone tablets, etc. About forty people were involved in this task. Among them was Zayd Ibn Thaabit
who showed his work to the Prophet . Thus, the Quran was correctly arranged during the Prophet s
life, but it was not yet compiled into one book. In the meantime, most of the Prophet s Companions
memorised the Quran.
When Abu Bakr became Caliph after the Prophet died, a large number of the Companions were killed
during the War of Apostasy. Umar Ibn Al Khattaab went to the Caliph and discussed the idea of
compiling the Quran into one volume. He was disturbed, as most of those who memorised it had died.
Then, Abu Bakr called for Zayd and commissioned him to collect the Quran into one book, which
became known as the Mus haf.
After Zayd accomplished this great task and

Introduction Water has played an important role in the architectural heritage of India from early times.
In India, traditional methods for water harvesting systems and water management systems have also
been used successfully from ancient times. Each region has its own unique system depending on its
topography, rainfall and the local needs of the community. In areas where the rivers were not snow fed
and therefore not perennial, particularly true of the lower peninsular regions, different kinds of tanks
served multiple purposes aesthetic, spiritual and practical. There were two main kinds of tanks: village

Gmos Being Used For Agricultural Production Essay
The population around the world is increasing constantly, therefore, GMOs which are safe to consume
should be used in the production of agricultural products in order to keep up with demand. First, the
population is growing on a day to day basis and is constantly demanding agricultural resources that
use GMOs. Next, will be the history of GMOs and their use. Finally will be my own stance on the
topic of GMOs being used for agricultural production. The seven billionth member of humanity was
welcomed in 2011. Experts predict by 2050 with the current birth rate humanity will reach towards 9
billion people. In order to feed all of these people the amount of food that we produce would have to
nearly double. Aside from the issue of the amount of food there are issues like what kind of food is
needed and where it is needed around the globe. For the most part the earth s population has increased
relatively slowly but steady pace. In the past 120 years, however, the amount of people that need to be
fed by our planet has increased tremendously from 1.5 billion to 7 billion. This dramatic increase may
be because of agriculture itself. On a global scale food is nutritious and a lot easier to get than it was
before. Birth rates are tending to go down but the life expectancy and life quality is increasing in this
day in age. Even with this happening experts still expect the population to grow by more than 2 billion
in the next 40 years. Another issue is the technological space between

Evolution of Populism and La Moral from Modernization
Populism refers to the political philosophy that pits the downtrodden masses against the apathetic
ruling elite. La Moral refers to the conformity to the code of conduct set by employers. Modernization
is the transformation from a traditional, rural society that primarily relies on agriculture to an urban,
industrialized society. The emergence and flourishing of modern society has been inextricably linked
with the development of industries, infrastructure and cities. Sociologists and political analysts agree
that urbanization and industrialization were the main causes of populism in Latin America. (Conniff

The old traditional leaders did not have the charisma, charm and skill that were needed. They had only
served as appointees and they came from urban areas. They could therefore not identify with the
struggles of the lower and middle class population. The leaders needed to show a more humane aspect
of the government: a government that was concerned about the welfare of its citizens rather than the
government which was composed of self serving individuals who were only interested in profiting
from them. Such leaders arose and stepped out to fill the political vacuum. Their style and political
policies, later named Populism , were diametrically different from those of the traditional rulers.
Populism gained traction as a response to the increasingly growing demography of working class and
urban lower middle class who were susceptible to political mobilization. La Moral in Columbia came
into effect because the political stalwarts at the time were averse to democratic governance and thus
resisted the democratization process. The populism frenzy peaked in the late 1950 s. The leaders at the
time campaigned for office in line with populist fashion. These politicians were flamboyant in their
election campaigns. They would sway the masses and newly minted voters into accepting their
political ideologies and manifestos.

Building Trust And Credibility Is Important
Introduction
Trust can be defined as believing that someone or somewhat is reliable, nice, honest, effectual, etc. A
department or business cannot be much stable without having trust. Trust can be of many types, like
having trust on the employees, trust on the distributors and trust on the other stakeholders. Building
trust or being credible is a basic accomplishment. This is based on main 4 cores. These are integrity,
intent, capabilities and results. Similarly, for the Federal Police Agency it s a necessity. Federal Police
Agency is thought to not to be trusted. Many people think that Police Agencies are corrupt and
distrustful. That is somehow true. So the federal Police Agency must lead with trust. It is obvious that
it has to follow the 4 cores of credibility. Building trust is however easier said than done (Myers, et.al,
2015). They have to work hard definitely. In this paper ways to build trust and credibility is
mentioned.
1. Integrity:
The first core of being credible is to opt the way of integrity. Integrity is the value of being sincere and
having strong ethical principles; ethical uprightness. It is usually a personal alternative to sustain
oneself to consistent honorable and ethical averages. Subsequently, it s really important obviously. The
Federal Police Agency needs to hold integrity. They have to opt the way which can lead to integrity
and following by the trust building.
Integrity is significant for Police Agents because they are selected, appointed,

Greek and Roman Concepts of Citizenship and Government The definition of citizenship in Greek and
Roman cultures can be described much differently than the current democratic definition of
contemporary nations. The Roman Empire differed from the Athenian Amphictyony and the Assyrian
Empire as well as the sunder later emperors such as Vespasian. There were also structural problems
within the government of the Roman Empire. This paper will explore the models of government and
citizenship that Ancient Roman and Greek peoples employed along with how well they worked.

republic. A republic is a type of government that expects an active role from every citizen, not just the

behalf. The citizens were the focus of the Roman Republic. The status of a citizen evolved
dramatically throughout the Roman Republic. All males over 15 that were true descendants of the
original tribe became citizens ( Ancient Civilizations , 2014). Full citizens of Rome had many
privileges such as voting, practicing commerce, holding public office, and marrying freeborn citizens
to name a few. Some citizens that were not considered full citizens maintained some rights, but could
not vote or hold office. A third type of citizen could not hold office or marry free born women but
could practice commerce and vote. Citizens rights would change throughout the Roman republic, but
the republic aspect did not change. An important aspect of the Roman Government was the Senate.
The Senate was first set up as a group of 100, then later the Roman Kings expanded the group to 300 (

Engineering Skills Gap At The Manufacturing Sector
Abstract
This report looks into what the future may look like for the manufacturing sector as well as
engineering in Wales. The future looks potentially very good, with many predictions of growth in the
manufacturing sector, with a possible ÂŁ27 billion more each year from 2022, for the UK in general,
drawing more companies in and creating many more jobs in the process. However, the main obstacle
is an engineering skills gap, with many more engineers required to fill the vacancies and replace the
aging workforce, than Wales is currently producing. There are a number of programs to try and
increase the number of children studying STEM subjects and funding to create more engineering
apprenticeships. While the 2022 target is within reach a lot more work is needed to produce the
required number of engineers to make the growth possible.
Introduction
The manufacturing industry is comprised of businesses that manufacture and process products from
raw materials or commodities. It includes a vast range of sectors such as food, chemicals, automotive,
computer equipment and electronics. In most developed countries manufacturing takes up a significant
part of the economy.
This report will look at the current situation of the manufacturing sector as well as engineering in
Wales, and look into what the future may be like, as well as what is being done to achieve it.

Holocaust. This event influenced Italian literature, taught people a great deal about the jewish culture,
and showed people the true evil in history. To begin, the Jewish faith is one of the oldest major
religions and the first to believe in one God. The religion itself originated with the Hebrew people of

Rosh Ha Shannah is the Jewish New Year, that celebrates the creation of the world and God s rule
over it. This is one of the holiest days of the year for the Jews, along with Yom Kippur. One of the
many examples of Jewish customs are the dietary laws. These can be found in Leviticus and
Deuteronomy. Any Jew who chooses to follow these rules, do not eat pork or shellfish such as shrimp
or oysters. Meat and milk products are stored separately and are not served at the same meal. They
refrain from eating any milk products for several hours after eating meat. Meat killed from a ritual
slaughter known as Shehitah is the only meat they are allowed to eat. At the age of 13 boys and girls
are to fulfill a religious obligation through the Bar MItzvah (Bat Mitzvah for girls). This is a ceremony
in which they are recognized as adults responsible for fulfilling the obligations of Judaism (Magid). At
the same time the Jewish faith was developing, so was Italian literature. Italian literature was greatly
influenced by a movement known as futurism during the 1900 s. Language and metaphors glorified
the violence of the time period. Themes with problems of personal identity and absurdity of reality
were common (Cherchi). After World War II ended, a variety of different literary styles emerged. This
included magical realism, absurd plays, and protest literature. Each new type of literature shared an
aesthetic that became postmodernism. This was a way to

such as varying the techniques I use such as pair and group work. This I will try and do but it has been
difficult to address as we have the students for a short about of time and a lot of work to complete. It is
something I am trying to work on and will endeavour to achieve these aspirations in the coming
months. The second area of development was given to me by my mentor, it was that I talk very
quickly while heading the class and do not allocate enough time for students to answer my questions.
This I think is down to nerves when being observed. Hopefully with the further experience I have
achieved I have slowed myself down for the next observation I have. In planning appropriate
opportunities to address these identified learning needs as been quite difficult as I only have

Moody s keeps Australia s triple A credit rating despite rising debt Moody s Investors Service decided
to keep Australia s AAA credit rating in August this year in the belief that it will be able to tough

Agamemnon Sympathy
In his play Agamemnon, Aeschylus initially invites the audience to sympathize with both
Clytemnestra and Cassandra. While the sympathy towards Cassandra remains throughout the play,
Clytemnestra s does not. Contradictorily, the audience is not invited to be sympathetic towards
Agamemnon in the beginning, but this changes over the course of the play.
At first, Aeschylus invites the audience to sympathize with Clytemnestra, but this changes as the play
progresses. In the beginning of Agamemnon, Clytemnestra emphasizes the fact that there had been a

Cassandra can see her own future but no one believes her. She sees her impending death but can not
do anything to change it. Also, she can not tell anyone else of the events because they will not believe
her. The audience finds themselves imagining what he would do if they were Cassandra. Often, just
putting yourself in someone else s perspective forces you to somehow sympathize with him or her. As
she realizes that she is going to the House of Atreus, and yells words like manslaughter, butchery, and
blood (Page 42, Lines 1090 1093). These words have appalling connotations and the fact that these are
the words that she is using to describe her very near future creates sympathy towards Cassandra. She
then sees her own death and is completely helpless. This creates sympathy because generally if a
person sees their own death, especially being murdered, he or she would likely want to try to change
what is going to happen, but Cassandra cannot and the audience knows this and sympathizes with her.
She has to continue as seconds towards her death creep closer. Cassandra is helpless and the viewers
She is first taken as slave and then has to face death. The continuous sympathetic invitation that
Aeschylus creates contradicts the other two characters. This is to highlight the curse of the House of
Atreus not only affects the people directly involved but also the lives of the innocent. The curse begins
when Agamemnon kills Iphigenia which creates a cycle of murders that were justified by using
examples of other murders. This highlights the karmic drama of killing and the cycle that murder

Daisy Miller Essay
Daisy Miller by Henry James, is a study of a young American girl s rebuttal of all things proper and
refusal to conform to social standards. One can see that realism is apparent throughout the text. The
characters utilize free will throughout, are affected by their environment and familial relationships,
and ultimately make their own choices. These choices eventually affect the outcome in an unhappy
ending. Jame s creates characters that encompass both sides of the social sphere in this work.
Winterbourne, Mrs. Costello and Mrs. Walker are all individuals that come from old money, a higher
societal background, and expectations of what is deemed right and proper. In contrast, Daisy Miller,
Mrs. Miller, Randolph and Eugenio are the opposite in many ways coming from an average societal
realm and more realistic, modest lifestyle. Winterbourne has a rather telling conversation with Mrs.
Walker and her statement to him upon asking what exactly it is that Daisy does that pushes too far
sums up the overall reputation Daisy is establishing for herself. (she does) Everything that is not done
here. Flirting with any man she could pick up; sitting in corners with mysterious Italians; dancing all
the evening with the same partners; receiving visits at eleven o clock at night (James, p. 1537). Daisy s
ability to make her own choices and follow her free will are aspects of realism which writers began to
utilize. Again, her environment and family most definitely affect her behavior.

the mode of payment is credit card and not cash. Because of this mode of payment, the drivers need
not worry about giving change, nor do the passengers need to consider if the amount of money they

unions and management in the workplace.

In fact, the unitarist management views trade/Labor unions and government mandated Labor standards
as unnecessary. If management is applying effective policies and has good communication with its
employees then conflict will not be an issue, hence conflict is seen as a result of poor management.
Management with this frame of reference tend to be against unions and government intervention
hence will not want unions in their workplace. However, many manager and employees tend to see
their workplace or firms in unitary term and are happy with their situations. So in order to avoid
conflict management will provide a better working environment, decent wages and work flexibility.
However, this perspective is market based because if the company with these frame of reference have

This will lead to several cuts in the workplace such as bonuses, paid leaves and so on.
The pluralist frame of reference in management is a complete opposite of unitarist view in terms of
unions. The pluralist management perspective consist of employees and employers bargaining in
imperfect labor markets in the presence of pluralist conflict. Pluralist conflict is an employment

A Jew life was forever changed physically and mentally after being released from the concentration
camps. The Shawl by Cynthia Ozick tells it all when Rosa explains all Jews only know about three
lives The life before, the life during, the life after (58). The life before was when every Jew had
authoritarianism over their lives by the Nazi s. For instance, having to wear yellow stars, forbidden to
have cars, go to any type of entertainment or pubic events and forbidden to visit non Jew homes. Jews

Definition Of Humanity In Blade Runner
The film that will be thoroughly analysed throughout this essay is Blade Runner which is based on the
novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? . This film was produced by Ridley Scott, who explores

As the film develops it is obvious they both struggle to understand their emerging emotions. When the
character of Deckard is evaluated it is obvious he struggles to come to terms with the coldness of
retiring the Replicants. This puts him in a predicament as he faces a psychological battle. Although he
is completing the task for the wellbeing of the remaining citizens he turns to drinking as a form of
comfort, displaying signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In comparison, over the journey
of the story Roy, the alleged antagonist, developed emotions. This caused the difference between
humans and robots to decrease. At the beginning of the film, Replicants are perceived as corrupt but
this stereotype is broken when Roy Batty saves the life of Deckard. He could ve allowed Deckard to
fall to his death but he was overcome with emotion and couldn t complete the task of murder. After
saving him, Roy was retired as his intended four year life span was complete. The was audience is left
to question his development and evolution towards humanity. The author demonstrated that through
Roy s actions his purpose in this world was accomplished and he had indeed become human. Overall
the difference between being labelled as good or bad is stereotyped. Replicants were perceived as bad
people due to their characterisation, this was broken through the development of emotion.

Horses have been a part of man s life for a very long time. The relationship between man and horse first began at the time of the horse s domestication between 4000 and 3500 B.C. • 8. Genesis And Job Essay In the Bible, the books of Genesis and Job, each give a description of the creation of heaven and earth. They depict different views and styles but share the same idea that God is the creator. Genesis 1 2 is the most popular and well known story that says God created everything in six days and the seventh day was rest. In the book of Job 38 40, the concept of creation was told to Job in order to make him understand why he was suffering and to perceive the ways of God. The first chapter in Genesis defines the beginning as being majestic and analytical. It demonstrates a limited description of how life will continue to be maintained in everyday growth and how the earth will continue to bring food for all living things (Gen. 1:29 30). Genesis also suggest that the Creator was a one time occurance at the beginning of time. It explains what God created each day and in chapter 2 clarifies the creation of man and woman. On the other hand, Job provides imagery and metaphors to help the human mind to wrap around the concept of how the universe was formed. For example, God speaks to Job ... If a family member is suspected of being the perpetrator of abuse, neglect, or exploitation they should in fact not be involved in the seniors life but otherwise there should be a common sense rule that we look out for our family members. Too often seniors refuse to report abuse, neglect, or crime against them out of fear of losing independence. It is a common misconception that being victimized will deem you unfit to live independently and will result in being placed in a facility of some sort. It is important that seniors feel they can turn to those around them with concerns and incidents that occur. In the event that a senior is not forthcoming with information there are a number of avenues that may involve reporting of suspected incidents. Hospitals, doctors, community service organizations, and long term care facilities can report suspected crimes to authorities or Department of Social Services in an effort to protect the individual. If a senior cannot properly protect themselves then health care professionals from all areas should have the ability to act on behalf of the individual to seek help but not dictate the overall outcome as a result. • 14. Music And Cinema Music The music selected for silent films is an important process that can affect the audience s experience. Many films rely on music to enhance the action on screen and assist in telling the story. Emilio Audissino places music selection into two basic categories for silent film music: the first being cinema music, which acts as a silence filler for the viewer, and the second is film music, with the goal to assist the film s narrative. For many silent films. the music is primarily cinema music. However, there are some silent films that rely heavily on music to help convey the action on screen. Metropolis (1927) is one such film, which used music scored specifically for it. Gottfried Huppertz began composing the leitmotifs for the score during the early stages of the production of Metropolis. He created each character s leitmotif through interactions with the actors, thus strengthening the music s relationship to the film s story. Audissino writes, He would be on the set to develop the themes for each character as they took form in front of the cameras, and played parts of the music for the actors to bring them into the proper mood. Huppertz s music became an integral part of the film and decades later would assist in its restoration. When his original score was replaced with music from other composers, this affected the film s narrative. Metazoans also share the same kind of early development. They form into infolded balls of internal cells which are often free to move, and are covered by outer sheets of cells that form an external coating for the animal: a skin, if you like. The first metazoans were soft bodied, and we have no fossil record of them. All of them solved the problem of developing to larger size and complexity, but in different ways. Sponges evolved by extending the choanoflagellate way of life to large size and sophisticated packaging. Examples Of Satire In The Age Of Enlightenment Okonmah 1 Victor Okonmah Ms. Campbell IB Literature August 17, 2014 IB Literature Summer Assignment: The Age of Enlightenment A satire is a literary component in which writers use to criticize and expose corruption and stupidity of a person or society by employing the use of ridicule, humor, exaggeration, and irony. The novel Candide is an example of a satire. Throughout the novel, Voltaire ridicules Candide s belief of the world as the best possible world in order inform readers about the authority of reason in The Age of Enlightenment. The Age of Enlightenment was an eighteenth century movement in which people focused on reason and science as opposed to religion. Without a second thought he made a mad dash for it, sprinting as fast as he could to the wall several feet away and crawling through the hole barely big enough for him to fit through. Ignoring the yelling coming from behind him, a smile crossed his face as he ran in no particular direction. Despite the RUF soldiers trailing him he felt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evolution of Populism and La Moral from Modernization Populism refers to the political philosophy that pits the downtrodden masses against the apathetic ruling elite. La Moral refers to the conformity to the code of conduct set by employers. Modernization is the transformation from a traditional, rural society that primarily relies on agriculture to an urban, industrialized society. The emergence and flourishing of modern society has been inextricably linked with the development of industries, infrastructure and cities. The old traditional leaders did not have the charisma, charm and skill that were needed. They had only served as appointees and they came from urban areas. They could therefore not identify with the struggles of the lower and middle class population. The leaders needed to show a more humane aspect of the government: a government that was concerned about the welfare of its citizens rather than the government which was composed of self serving individuals who were only interested in profiting from them. Such leaders arose and stepped out to fill the political vacuum. Their style and political policies, later named Populism , were diametrically different from those of the traditional rulers. Populism gained traction as a response to the increasingly growing demography of working class and urban lower middle class who were susceptible to political mobilization. La Moral in Columbia came into effect because the political stalwarts at the time were averse to democratic governance and thus resisted the democratization process. The populism frenzy peaked in the late 1950 s. The leaders at the time campaigned for office in line with populist fashion. These politicians were flamboyant in their election campaigns. • 29. Engineering Skills Gap At The Manufacturing Sector Abstract This report looks into what the future may look like for the manufacturing sector as well as engineering in Wales. The future looks potentially very good, with many predictions of growth in the manufacturing sector, with a possible ÂŁ27 billion more each year from 2022, for the UK in general, drawing more companies in and creating many more jobs in the process. However, the main obstacle is an engineering skills gap, with many more engineers required to fill the vacancies and replace the aging workforce, than Wales is currently producing. There are a number of programs to try and increase the number of children studying STEM subjects and funding to create more engineering apprenticeships. While the 2022 target is within reach a lot more work is needed to produce the required number of engineers to make the growth possible. Moody s keeps Australia s triple A credit rating despite rising debt Moody s Investors Service decided to keep Australia s AAA credit rating in August this year in the belief that it will be able to tough through a shaky economic environment in future. Often, just putting yourself in someone else s perspective forces you to somehow sympathize with him or her. As she realizes that she is going to the House of Atreus, and yells words like manslaughter, butchery, and blood (Page 42, Lines 1090 1093). These words have appalling connotations and the fact that these are the words that she is using to describe her very near future creates sympathy towards Cassandra. She then sees her own death and is completely helpless. This creates sympathy because generally if a person sees their own death, especially being murdered, he or she would likely want to try to change what is going to happen, but Cassandra cannot and the audience knows this and sympathizes with her. One can see that realism is apparent throughout the text. The characters utilize free will throughout, are affected by their environment and familial relationships, and ultimately make their own choices. These choices eventually affect the outcome in an unhappy ending. Jame s creates characters that encompass both sides of the social sphere in this work. Winterbourne, Mrs. Costello and Mrs. Walker are all individuals that come from old money, a higher societal background, and expectations of what is deemed right and proper. In contrast, Daisy Miller, Mrs. Miller, Randolph and Eugenio are the opposite in many ways coming from an average societal realm and more realistic, modest lifestyle.
