Social network theory examines relationships between individuals and groups, and social network analysis uses mathematical and sociological methods to study patterns of information exchange within human networks. Key concepts include nodes, ties, and the identification of cohesive groups and brokers that control information flow. Studies by Milgram and Watts demonstrated that most people are connected through just 6 degrees of separation. Applying these insights, information professionals can map information routes and fill gaps to improve dissemination.

In this paper,we are implementing and proposing the community detection in social media .In the proposed we have deployed a Longest Chain Subsequence metric for finding the number of connections to the kernel community.

than the conventional methods of statistics and data analysis, in next we want to propagate the fuzzy approach
as a way to overcome the uncertainity that is always present in social media analysis . We give a brief overview
of the main ideas and recent results of social networks analysis , and we point to relationships between the two
social network analysis and classification approaches .This researchsuggests a hybrid classification model build
on fuzzy and artificial neural network (HFANN). Information Gain and three popular social sites are used to
collect information depicting features that are then used to train and test the proposed methods . This neoteric
approach combines the advantages of ANN and Fuzzy sets in classification accuracy with utilizing social data
and knowledge base available in the hate lexicons.

This talk will be a workshop featuring an overview of basic theory and methods for social network analysis and an introduction to igraph. The first half of the talk will be a discussion of the concepts and the second half will feature code examples and demonstrations.

Ian McCulloh holds joint appointments as a Parson’s Fellow in the Bloomberg School of Public health, a Senior Lecturer in the Whiting School of Engineering and a senior scientist at the Applied Physics Lab, at Johns Hopkins University. His current research is focused on strategic influence in online networks. His most recent papers have been focused on the neuroscience of persuasion and measuring influence in online social media firestorms. He is the author of “Social Network Analysis with Applications” (Wiley: 2013), “Networks Over Time” (Oxford: forthcoming) and has published 48 peer-reviewed papers, primarily in the area of social network analysis. His current applied work is focused on educating soldiers and marines in advanced methods for open source research and data science leadership.

This chapter will introduce you to the field of science known as Network Theory and tell you about the major researches that took place since its conceptualization. Since the course in question is social computing the chapter is written in a way to give examples and illustrations which mostly relate to social computing. It also contains theories and information which are mostly related to network theory and have some or no relation to social computing. But the basic purpose of this chapter is to explain Network theory and its applications in the field of social computing.
The social network analysis (SNA), branch of complex systems can be used in the construction of multiagent
systems. This paper proposes a study of how social network analysis can assist in modeling multiagent
systems, while addressing similarities and differences between the two theories. We built a prototype
of multi-agent systems for resolution of tasks through the formation of teams of agents that are formed on
the basis of the social network established between agents. Agents make use of performance indicators to
assess when should change their social network to maximize the participation in teams.
The purpose of the present scientific contribution is to investigate from the business economics standpoing the emerging phenomenon of company networks. In particular, through the analysis of the theory of networks will be proposed the principal categories of business networks, and even before this the concept of the network will be defined. The proposed research, qualitatively, represents the point of departure for the study of the network phenomenon in light of the current economic phase termed “economy of knowledge”. Moreover, the research questions are the following: From where does the theory of networks arise? Do company networks consider themselves equal to knowledge networks?
The emerging field of computational social science (CSS) is devoted to the pursuit of interdisciplinary social science research from an information processing perspective, through the medium of advanced computing and information technologies.

13. In 1996. Cornell graduate student Duncan Watts began researching how crickets seemed able to synchronize their chirping behavior, surmising that information about when to chrip was spreading through the cricket network. He began to explore how information flowed through human networks as well.

Watts read Mark Granovetter’s “Strength of Weak Ties” theory, and considered the ties he saw in the spacemen and cavemen characters he knew from science fiction -- the spacemen communicated remotely so that the people they knew didn’t know each other, while the cavemen lived in isolated groups and knew everybody their friends knew.
