Applied Behavior Analysis is the process of systematically applying interventions based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement in behavior.
This is a powerpoint, I created, with help from a Developmental Specialist named Becky Parker (M. Ed.) who is in the Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education Program at BYU-Idaho. It talks about the causes and some helpful tips for parents, teachers, and specialists who may work with these amazing people who suffer from Sensory Disorders.
TAT Interpretation
Interpretation: There are no formal, normative standards for the TAT.
General
The simplest procedure for studying TAT responses is the inspection technique.
Most clinicians interpret the TAT stories informally; repetitive patterns or themes become apparent by reading through a subject's stories.
It is useful to know the typical themes and stories that are elicited by each of the cards.
Deviations from these may offer rich interpretive value.
Typical themes are presented in Groth-Marnat (2003) Chapter 10, in Bellak (1997) Chapter 4, and in Teglasi, (2001).
It is important to look for corroboration of patterns in other stories, other test results, or in background information.
Bellak (1997) says "A repetitive pattern is the best assurance that one does not deal with an artifact".

Schema focused therapy developed by Young. Basic fundamentals of SFT. Emphasis on maladaptive schema and process of healing. It includes cognitive, experiential and behavioural techniques as well as patient-therapist relationship as an anchor.

A study to impact the communication skill of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with their classmate and other children without ADHD.
Presented by students from the Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) Teacher Education Program.
Technology has had a positive place in education with its resources for learning and communication, but it also has received negative press considering addictions to devices, time on task, and isolation of students. Students, however, feel that they are not connected to devices but rather connected to a network and community in which they live. Educators could feel more comfortable with this concept if technology could be viewed as an asset rather than a distraction. Join us to hear from students on how teachers can leverage technology to not only build better relationships with students and each other, but also as a way to promote mental health, confidence, positivity, and acceptance into a lifelong community of learners.
This session is created by and presented by eleventh and twelfth grade high school students who are a part of a Teacher Education program at the Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies. They work with practicing teachers and their students and also research and study innovations in learning.
