Reflection On Clinical Placement
DESCRIPTION During my clinical placement, I have done the nursing standard 2 which is
engaging in therapeutic and professional relationships. An example of one event in my
placement where I have done this standard is when doing interviews in my two week community
placement at the Community Rehabilitation in Armadale Hospital. For my reflection, I will be
using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988). FEELINGS I am normally a very shy person so when
we were told that we were to do interviews on the first day of my community placement I felt
scared. I did not know how to approach people confidently let alone do an interview. I knew I
could do it but I was not confident enough. I was already feeling overwhelmed because it was my
first time to be placed in a hospital. EVALUATION The good thing in my experience would be
that I got to have the experience of doing interviews and I actually enjoyed it. I also gained more
confidence in interacting with my patients. The not so good thing would be that I have gained
confidence in talking to my patients but not the staff or the people I was working with. I was
still very shy in communicating with them. ANALYSIS I have learnt to do interviews during my
placement. Because I took that step out of my comfort zone I believe that I have learnt a lot. I
have learnt to take a step out of my shell and try. I have learnt that it is not worth getting worked
up over doing interviews and talking to people, as it will be a major part of my

Essay On Romantic Love
Love is an abundant emotion that has different degrees. There is familial love, friendly love,
unconditional love, and of course romantic love. Romantic love will be the superstar of this article.
Romantic love may be around every corner whether between an old couple or a young teenage
romance. However, loveis not the easiest thing to attain. It is such a simple concept, though a
difficult thing to actually have a person s hands on.
Most people nowadays will yearn for something more commonly known as true love. True love
can be explained in a sense that it is a person we may or may not consider as a soul mate. It can be
someone we love to a certain degree that we feel happy, complete, and contented.
The definition may be thrown out there in whatever way, but meeting eye to eye with said true love
comes with certain complexity.
In other times, we may be thrown off. What we think could be considered love may not actually be
love.
Though before knowing how to find love, one must know the basics when it comes to the act of
loving in general.
PsychologyToday.com records research on love.
According to said research, vital things to a deep kind of love are physical attraction and a certain
level of intimacy, which follow through with companionship that you feel towards the other person.
The following can lead to difficulty because, in a sense, people of today are inclined towards an
ideal view of romance. People are blinded by what they see in the media and relate whatever

Commentary on The Birthmark by Nathaniel Hawthorne
The things in life he didn t understand fascinated Nathaniel Hawthorne. He wrote a few stories in a
literary journal called The Pioneer, one of them being The Birthmark . Time significantly influenced
Hawthorne in creating this short story (Wheeler). Aylmer, the main character, uses the scientific
experimentation throughout the story to remove the birthmark from his wife s, Georgiana, face
which results in him killing her. The Birthmark has attempting for perfection, the battle between
science and nature, and the earthly love.
Aylmer trying to make everything in his life perfect is the dominant issue. Unfortunately, he killed
his perfect wife due to an imperfection on her face. The potion he created to completely erase her

Even though science is a main theme in The Birthmark , there is a lot having to deal with nature
as well. Aylmer is talented enough to make aromas from scratch; however, he can t make his
wife live a longer life. He believes he has powers from the knowledge of science. Georgiana is
the main power of natural in the story. She is so in love with her husband that she is willing to
put nature aside for science. Georgiana s birthmark has the power of nature to destroy
everything who sees it. Aylmer asks her to pluck a flower and the whole plant suffered a blight,
its leaves turning coal black as if by the agency of fire (220). The beautiful Georgiana tries to get
a flawless flower thinks It is magical! cried Georgiana. I dare not touch it (220); instead she had
caused the flower to die. Georgiana s touch was like the flaw characteristic that all human beings
had, but Aylmer wanted nothing less than perfect. Aylmer states, there was too powerful a stimulus
(222), in which he meant that the flaw Georgiana has caused that. As the flower continues to die,
Hawthorne is trying to point out that the perfect flower can t survive if something imperfect
touches it.
Aylmer tries whatever he can to erase Georgiana s birthmark and this makes a person question
how does love play a role in this relationship of he s trying to remove

Wars Of The Roses
The Wars of the Roses, fought in England during the 15th century, was a critical juncture in the
history of England, as it determined the future of England s throne. The Wars of the Roses were not
just one single conflict, but several (hence the name Wars not War) in England during the later half
of the 15th century. The conflict is typically though to stem from the conflicting ambitions of the
York and Lancaster families to control the English throne. The notion that The Wars of the Roses
were a power struggle over the English throne is an obvious one to come to. Given the turbulence
surrounding control of the throne, as well as the violent nature by which Kings were often replaced
during this time it is easy to assume that the conflict was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such an analysis of the conflict is an easy one to assume based on the nature in which power
shifted hands between the Lancaster and the York families during the time of the Wars of the
Roses, however assuming the conflict was caused simply by two families fighting each other
fails to consider much deeper root causes. If one examines the successful rule of Lancaster King
Henry V compared to the ineffective rule of his son Henry VI it becomes obvious that weak
rule, not a thirst for power was the catalyst behind the York challenge to the throne. Henry V
faced no real challenges to his authority during his successful rule; Henry VI was eventually
deposed after his rule saw the decline of England. Furthermore, given the shifting alliances of
nobles, such as the Earl of Warwick, it is clear that supporting ones own kinsman was not the
central factor in who nobles backed during the war. If the war was the result of family rivalry
one would except family ties to be a crucial factor. Lastly the notion that the conflict stemmed
from the York family wanting to take control of the throne away from the Lancaster family can be
easily attributed to later Tudor propaganda. The works of William Shakespeare would paint the
York claims to power as self serving, which would go own to be

The Yellow Wall Paper ( Postpartum Depression )
The yellow wall paper was written in the 1800 s during that time women were vastly expected to
serve their husband as housewives, not given the right to vote, make decision for themselves, work
and even make enough money to support themselves. The husband is a doctor, while the wife
suffers from severe mental illness. This is a husbandwho loves his wifeand taught he was doing
what was right to get her in a stable condition but unfortunately he made her become crazier, due to
lack of stimulation. The Yellow Wall Paper symbolizes slowly tearing the walls of freedom for
women.
The narrator falls into a state of deep depression following the birth of her baby, which is
currently known now as postpartum depression. During the 1800 s they called it temporary
nervous depression a slight hysterical tendency a diagnosis common to women during that era.
There was little or no knowledge for the treatment of postpartum depression. The doctors used
rest cure as a form of treatment, the patient is prohibited from doing any kind of work. All they
need is to rest, exercise, eat well and get enough air then they will recover. No external
stimulation which lead to the deterioration of the narrator s mental health in the story. She is
ordered by her husband and brother, who are respected physicians to rest. She is isolated from
everyone except her husband John and her sister in law Jennie the house keeper. Locked in a room
with yellow wall paper, windows facing all direction, all the

Analysis Of Gerald Davis s The Vanishing American...
In the text The Vanishing American Corporation by Gerald Davis the corporate economy is a term
of the past. According to Davis we are in the midst of the third industrial revolution (Davis 167).
The reason is a combination of factors such as technology, the industrial movement, and inequality
and political struggles to tame the market. More specifically novice and new technology began the
collapse of the corporation. Since corporations ceased to exist the economy is unpredictable and
unstable. Many of the once solid positions are replaced by offshoring work to other countries. Many
people are unemployed however the unemployed remain undocumented.
Given the unemployed remain undocumented the published unemployment figures convey the
unemployment rate has gone down. Yet at the same time the labor force has dropped since 1977.
The cause of undocumented unemployed citizens results from the number of social security not
counted on the unemployment data. According to Davis the past two decades substantially
outnumbers the unemployed.
Many Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) citizens remain permanently unemployed. Also,
many citizens live off part time jobs and rote tasks. Davis describes the end of the corporation as
an apocalypse in nature. Davis colorfully illustrate the current job market is like an unmapped
island full of dense rain forests, prone to earthquakes that rearrange the landscape, and with a
volcano at the center (Davis 183).
Many compare the instability of the economy of today to the 2008 financial meltdown. According
to author Joel Havemann in 2008 the nation documented the economy as the world s worst
dangerous crisis since The Great Depression since 2007. Afterward in 2008 a deep recession
encompassed the world (. However, the 2008 crisis is not the same as the same as today.
According to Censoo.com while losses could continue, the U.S. appears, at the moment, to be in a
better position to weather them. That could keep a market downturn from morphing into a full
blown financial crisis that then leads to an economic one (Censoo). The chief reason is because the
United States (U.S.) holds less debt than government debt.
American households now hold 15% of debt opposed to the 18.1%

The results define Plain language it is easy to read, understand, and use the first time (
PlainLanguage.gov n.d.). President Obama signed the Plain Writing Act in 2010 that requires
federal agencies to use clear government communication that the public can understand and use (
PlainLanguage.gov ).. Regardless of federal mandates, the public is seeing the results and expecting
no less than clear writing from government( PlainLanguage.gov ). This analysis of two government
documents will define plain language, determine whether the documents meet plain language
guidelines, and how the use of plain language impacts government accountability to citizens. Some
of the benefits of utilizing plain language include saving the government, the public and the
customer time and money, and it improves compliance with the requirements that the government
imposes on the public ( PlainLanguage.gov n.d.). Plain language means fewer calls from
customers, less time for users to solve a problem, higher compliance rates, and fewer customer
errors ( PlainLanguage.gov ). In addition to saving the government money, plain language helps
improve the relationship between the government and citizens by improving user satisfaction (
PlainLanguage.gov ). An example of the benefits of plain language is in 2006, a team within the
Arizona Department of Revenue started rewriting 400 form letters into plain language, and

Teenagers and Short Text Messaging
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Text messaging is the most widely used data appliance in the world,
with 2.4 billion users, or 74% of all mobile phone subscribers (Tedeschi, 2008). Market analysis
reveals that consumers purchase phone applications readily because it is effortless to download
an application onto their mobile phone and also since cash out of pocket is not required, it simply
gets added to their phone bill. Teenagers represent the largest spectrum of these consumers, who
are eager to show off the stunning features of their new phone to their peers. Parents typically pay
the cost of their cell phone plans and typically are unaware of small charges made on the account.
Most phone application downloads range from free demos to $9.99 pricing. As this venture is
maintained via the internet and cell phone, little to no overhead is required. Most of the costs of
goods sold are represented in the marketing of the product. With grant backing from the National
Science Foundation, Venture Capital investors and built in licensing fees paid direct;

A1. Concerns
There are many concerns with the budget planning for Competition Bike. From year 2006 to
2008, Competition Bike experienced a 13.3% increase in sales. In year 9, sales are projected to
increase to 3510 units to give sales revenue of $5,247,450. This is a bold increase after 3400 units
sold in 2008 and 4000 sold in 2007. I do not think the sales will be as robust with the economy
rebounding. Sales projections should be 3425 with net sales at $5,120,375.
Since the Competition Bike Company projected overly optimistic sales, there are several areas in
the budget that will be affected. The areas affected are Sales Commission, Transportation Out,

the high skill level needed for the bike manufacturing. The 50,000 favorable Efficiency Variance

Advertising Cost had a 5,000 unfavorable Price Variance and a 1246 favorable Efficiency

the money spent was efficient and worth the increase. The Transportation Out had a 3207

Creation Stories
By studying the various creation stories of different religions, we can learn about what members
of each religion believe. For instance, Christians believe that God created the world in 7 days and
all humans are descendants of Adam and Eve. All of these creation stories are out of the ordinary
and are extremely different from what happens in the world today. The creation stories are very
limited in their explanations, and fail to explain the creation of anything aside from the earth. They
do not explain the stars, planets, and galaxies we are knowledgeable about today. As human s
knowledge of the world increases, it becomes more and more difficult to believe in the creation
stories and the ideas associated with various religions. Creation... Show more content on

This directly relates to the fact that humans are naive. Without little or no proof, humans are
inclined to believe what a relative tells them. For example, parents tell their children what is
wrong and right, what to believe and not to believe in, and their children believe it. According to
the packet about Creation Stories, Muslims believe in Adam and Eve, and how they ate a
certain fruit and were exiled from paradise, and their children believe it. Muslims tell other
people about the creation story and suddenly, other people believe in the story too. It is the same
case for Christians, Buddhists, Jews, and all other religions. Humans believe in what others tell
them, which is why religion spread quickly and is so prominent in the world today. In the article
by Baggini, he says that humans need something to bridge a gap, so they will believe whatever
to fit the gap. Nowadays, humans have a lot of knowledge on how science thinks the earth and
everything else was created, and it has proof. However, it is a relatively new idea that does not
have as many followers as religion does. Religion along with their creation stories prevails simply
because humans continue to spread the ideas and other humans continue to believe

Essay on Human Nature and the Opposing Forces That Redeem It
Human Nature and the Opposing Forces That Redeem It
The Federalist Papers provide priceless insight into the spirits of both human government and
human nature. In fact, The Federalist Papers repeatedly acknowledge a basic truth of human
existence: humans are naturally selfish, hostile, and full of such characteristics that hinder the
continuation of peaceful, harmonious existence. The corruption of the human race permeates even
the strongest governments, as history has shown time and again. Ironic as it is, governments must
take precautions to guard themselves, even from their very own members, from the very thing that
all governments are meant to remedy: the shortcomings of human nature. The means by which The

Later, Madison expounds on this idea:
As there is a degree of depravity in mankind which requires a certain degree of circumspection and
distrust, so there are other qualities in human nature which justify a certain portion of esteem and
confidence. Republican government presupposes the existence of these qualities in a higher degree
than any other form (339).
Madison markedly declares that the republican form of government is the optimal instrument for
suppressing the flaws of human nature and for bringing forth those qualities in man that render him
supreme over all forms of life. Furthermore, Madison advocates republican government as the
precise remedy for the impending situation that was becoming more and more urgent in 1787.
Nonetheless, the fact remains that any government formed by man will be imperfect. Madison
states in paper ten, As long as the reason of man continues fallible, and he is at liberty to exercise it,
different opinions will be formed (123). Furthermore, A zeal for different opinions concerning
religion,...government, and many other points;...an attachment to different leaders ambitiously
contending for pre eminence and power; or to persons whose fortunes have been interesting to the
human passion, have divided mankind into parties (124). The latent causes of faction are thus sown
in the nature of man (124). Hence, men will always

however, I averaged approximently 250 grams a day. While I averaged 56% of my calories from

the higher end of the accepted values. Also, it is suggested that Americans consume less than

Finally, while it is suggested consumers make about half of their grains whole grains, I failed to
consume that much. Rather, each day, my refined grains were atleast double that of my whole

benefiticial to my diet. Consuming carbohydrates from foods such as whole wheat products, like
whole wheat bread, or vegatables, such as sweet potatoes, ensures an adequate amount of
carbohydrates while putting good nutrients into my body. Additionally, because added sugars are
not essntial to the diet, it is important to continue to lower the amount of added sugar consumed
and derive natural sugars from foods like fruits or milk, while eliminating foods high in added
sugars such as cookies or ice cream. While I failed to meet the recommendation of making half of

Comparing Religions And Beliefs Of Christianity And Islam
Christianity and Islam have a lot in common. One of the many is they are both monotheistic
religions. Both religions teach the same things like respect and tolerance. Muslims and Christians
have much in common in our mutual interests in governing families and in educating children in
virtue and in knowledge of the good, and in these areas, we have the basis for a building block of
harmony between us (Kleven, 2013).
Followers of Christianity are called Christians. Christians believe that the son of God, Christ,
walked the earth as an incarnate of God. Christians believe at the end of the world that Christ will
return. We also believe in the deity of Jesus. Christian worship: The father, son and holy spirit.
Scripture comes from The Holy Bible. Christians worship in personal dwellings, churches,
chapels, cathedrals. It was originated in Judea, a roman province. Christians believe original sin
was created by Adam. Mankind needs forgiveness for this inherited sin. Christians choose their
actions by knowing what s right and what s wrong. Christians believe that we are in need of
salvation and should be repaired by God. Practice such as: prayer, communion, sacraments,
worship in church, reading of the bible and acts of charity. Christian clergies consist of: nuns,
ministers, monks, bishops and priest. They believe it is life after death. You will spend eternity in
Heaven or eternity in Hell. Marriage is a holy sacrament for Christians. Mary is the mother of God.

Many acts of violent crimes have connected to young players and violent videos games. These
young players aren t supposed to be playing this game anyways. There is a reason these games are

The Evolution Of The Music Industry
History From the invention of first recording device in 1877 to cassettes to digital recording in
1987 to MP3 in 1990 and to iTunes in 2003, the music industry has become an important global
industry in last 50 years. The evolution of the music industry has given a boom to the economic
activity in many geographical scales. Technological development has been playing an effective
role for the evolution of the music industries. Looking back at the success of these music
businesses, it used to be all about fun, dignity, entertainment and business. There were no issues
regarding our social and cultural values nor there were any piracy issues. But gradually with the
evolution of the music industry, it has also challenged our social and cultural boundaries. Current
issues and legislation The product of the music industry has also been an effective tool for
communication. It holds the potential to convey an emotion, tell a story or act as a medium for
celebration. The impact of music can be felt in almost every aspect of life, because we listen to it
on our daily life. In like manner, music and the music industry also play a significant role in
communicating its social norms. These ideals have challenged political and religious ideologies,
social and cultural boundaries, and individual and gender rights. Unlike the old ethical principles,
these days they have regulated their own set of ethical principles in this industry. Nowadays, these

Area and Oasis Blocks
Internal Assesment Task 2C
In this experiment I am investigating the relationship between surface area and the volume of a
model cactus and to determine whether this relationship affects the loss of water.
We used oasis blocks, an absorbant material used by florists as a substitute for a cactus, that would
soak up the water, and thus ideally show the percentage water loss by weighing the before and after
evaporation weights.
Independent Variable
The independent variable is the total surface area for each size of the blocks and I think this will
affect the dependent variable as larger blocks, I hypothesize, will have less water loss by
evaporation as there is less surface area for it, as opposed to the smaller (2cm x 2cm x 2cm) ... Show

occurred for a number of reasons (see Evaluation), that the surface area does affect the percentage

after each experiment, however I believe that it is shown in my graph that the relationship between
the dependent and independent variable is obvious.
Evaluation
My conclusion, based on my graph, cannot be entirely correct, as my results were anomalous due to
a number of interferences with this experiment. Firstly, I think that by doing this

Writing An Assignment On The Generating Ideas
Good afternoon everyone!
I cannot believe this is week four already. This class has gone by so fast! While I am still in the
process of completing my final essay, I believe I am far enough along that I can discuss my
writing process. I have writing anxiety and I am sure I am not the only one in here that feels that
way. When I wrote the Generating Ideas assignment on my writing process, I compared my writing
anxiety to what a person feels prior to a dental procedure or having surgery. I used to cope by
avoidance. I would procrastinate until the very last minute. That level of deadline stress combined
with the apprehension of writing in general compounded my panic level. This is not a good thing
and the results were less than adequate. Over

Speech In Henry V. Crispin s Day
This story shall the good man teach his son; and Crispin Crispian shall ne er go by, from this day
to the ending of the world, but we in it shall be remembered (Henry V, 4.3.) Henry s St. Crispin s
Day Speech was given prior to the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. The enemy that Henry V s men
faced had them vastly outnumbered. It is at this time that Henry sees his men s need of motivation
and takes on the role of a valiant king taking control of the situation. He seized the moment to
motivate and inspire them. Henry hopes by making an effective speech his men will understand
why they need to fight. When all seemed lost it was Henry s speech that was filled with persuasion
and patriotism that spurred the men on and gave them hope and victory. Through Henry s speech

A Limited Liability Company
iA Limited Liability Company (LLC) is a business structure allowed by state statute. LLCs are
popular because, similar to a corporation, owners have limited personal liability for the debts and
actions of the LLC. Other features of LLCs are more like a partnership, providing management
flexibility and the benefit of pass through taxation.
Owners of an LLC are called members. Since most states do not restrict ownership, members may
include individuals, corporations, other LLCs and foreign entities. There is no maximum number
of members. Most states also permit single member LLCs, those having only one owner.
A few types of businesses generally cannot be LLCs, such as banks and insurance companies.

* LLCs in most states are treated as entities separate from their members, whereas in other
jurisdictions[which?] case law has developed deciding LLCs are not considered to have separate
legal standing from their members (see recent D.C. decisions[which?]). * LLCs in some states
can be set up with just one natural person involved. * Less risky to be stolen by fire sale
acquisitions (more protection against hungry investors). * For Real Estate companies, each separate
property can be owned by its own, individual LLC, thereby shielding not only the owners, but their
other properties from cross liability.
Limited liability companies are the popular new choice for business start ups. The LLC has only
been in existence for roughly 26 years and there are some definite pros and cons.
A limited liability company is a creature of state law. Prior to the late 1970s, it had never been a
choice for businesses because it didn t exist. In the late 1970s, the State of Wyoming passed an
act creating it. It took another ten years or so before other states caught on. Once they did, the
mad rush was on to pass legislation allowing for the creation of LLCs in nearly all states. The
world of business entities had been changed forever.
The LLC is a business entity designed to help small business. As a result, most of the positive
reasons for using it are catered to such business. In a general view, the entity is heavily

Prompt 3: The central conflict of the book Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides is gender identity which
is shown through Calliope s struggle with determining and accepting her true gender as a
hermaphrodite. The conflict also affects other characters as it causes grief, confusion, and leads to.
Calliope s first encounter with her gender identity crisis was when she develops feelings and
sexual attraction to the Object which is stated in Jerome knew what I was, as suddenly I did,
too, for the first time clearly understood that I wasn t a girl but something in between. I knew this
from how natural it had felt to enter Rex Reese s body, how right it felt, and I knew this from the
shocked expression on Jerome s face (375). The experience of having intercourse with Jerome
and fantasizing being in Rex s position shows that Calliope isn t just a female but something in
between and that adds more to her suspicion and confusion of her actual gender. This also affects
other characters as it leads up to Calliope having a sexual relationship with the Object which
reveals the Object s true feelings towards Calliope and her actual sexuality. She also has another
encounter with her gender identity when she discovers that she s biologically a boy who had
been raised as a girl. In the file by Dr. Luce, it describes Calliope s condition with the description

Separating From Great Britain Dbq Essay
Under the tyranny of Great Britain the colonist faced many hardships placed onto them by the
parliament. Unconstitutional taxes were implemented for no reason other than to increase Britain s
revenue. In addition laws that disregarded man s natural rights were enforced by Britain onto the
colonists. And because of these reasons the American colonist were justified for separating from
Great Britain by declaring independence. The American colonists were justified for separating from

regional department store chains under just one national brand Macys. This decision was in
response to the decline in sales and profits that had hit the traditional department store industry,
which was in a maturing stage and moving towards a downward trend for some time. Just three
years later, in 2008, U.S. economy was hit by a recession that threatened the livelihood of many
successful retail giants. While Macy s did experience a significant drop in revenue in 2008 with a

would simply have to maintain the existing ones. On the other hand, as a consequence of a
declining retail industry, less and fewer customers were flocking towards department stores as
well, thus making competition aggressive for the existing companies competing for a sliver of
the limited profits that were still available. Yet competition within existing companies was not
the only threat, discount stores like Walmart, Target, and Marshalls were beginning to build
momentum in the market, gaining more sales. Moreover, with the presence of Internet, online
shopping was beginning to rise in popularity, which also brought in more retailers to the already

Similarities Between Gemilut Chasidim And Tikkun Olam
Jewish ethics are inspired by the Sacred texts and are expressed in several different ways. Ethics
have been derived from the Torah, and Prophetic visions, and are expressed through practices
like Gemilut Chasidim and Tikkun Olam. The Scared Texts teach that Jews should be open to
serving the poor and many mitzvot command Jewish people to address the needs of the poor.
Gemilut Chasidim is how adherents respond to the call of God to serve others. Literally, giving of
lovingkindness Gemilut Chasidim is a Jewish practice whereby adherents are required to give their
time in service of others with no expectation of reward, as the Torahcalls them to do. Deuteronomy

The Food Stamp Program And The Supplemental Nutrition...
Formerly known as the Food Stamp Program (FSP), The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
Program (SNAP) is the largest federal nutrition assistance program and exists to protect low
income Americans from hunger and its associated consequences by increasing access to food.
Approximately 44 million people received SNAP benefits this year as of August of 2016.1 Due to
the fact that low income Americans tend to have problems with obesity and poor diet2,3, it would
make sense that there would be interest to endorse healthy choices by means of federally nutrition
assistance programs.4 However, there is insufficient evidence to require SNAP participants to spend
a certain percentage of their benefits on healthy foods because food stamp participation may not
contribute to poor diet quality, restrictions may not be effective in changing what food stamp
participants purchase, and there is no solid evidence that exists that Food Stamp Program
participation directly leads to obesity.
This policy is not necessary for a variety of reasons. For one, participation in the Food Stamp
program may not necessarily contribute to poor diet quality. A statement released by the USDA
claims that food stamp recipients are equally likely to choose foods with minimal nutritional value
as those who do not receive food stamp benefits4. In a recent evaluation and analysis of many

which the parties are in agreement upon and builds upon those to create a solution between the two
parties. Similarly, arbitrationincludes a third party that listens to the two disputing parties.
However, in arbitration the arbitrator or the third party gives a final decision. In most cases, the
decision given is binding. This means that it may not be reviewed or overturn by a court except in
very limited circumstances (Repa, n.d.). But some parties have been known to agree to a
nonbinding arbitration meaning that the award given can be rejected and the option of demanding
a trial can be used.
However, there are cases where the mediator can make a decision that is binding if both parties do
not agree. In some cases, the mediation can be turned into an arbitration. In the majority of
mediation processes, the goal is to assist the parties with their negotiation, and empower the parties
to make their own decisions (Negotiation, 2014). The mediator themselves has no real authority
over the two parties. Rather than with arbitration, the arbitrator or the panel gives the final closing
decision that cannot be revoked. This decision is constrained by procedural rulings, if the case was
in litigation the rules would be much stricter whereas mediation is more casual

Stressors In Rwanda
Many situations and acts that are unacceptable need a stressor. Stressors are situations and/or events
that lead to a catastrophic outcome, such as the Rwanda genocide. The tension between both the
Hutu and Tutsi already existed; it only needed something to reach its breaking point a stressor. On
April 6, 1994, the plane that occupied Juvenal Habyarimana, President of Rwanda, and Cyprien
Ntaryamina, President of Burundi crashed due to unexplained circumstances. Over the next three
months in Rwanda after the crash carrying both Presidents, mass killings began to occur. The kill
count escaladed dramatically leaving one million Rwandans dead and two million seeking refugee
status among its neighbors: Zaire, Tanzania, and Burundi (Kellow and... Show more content on

In the beginning Radio Libre de Mille Collines (RTLM) was not the main source of media
coverage, Radio Rwanda was considered the official government station. Thanks to President
Habyarimana, Radio Rwanda had been able to broadcast, using the palace directly across the
street from the station as a direct line in case the power failed. RTLM managed to gain access to
this direct line that gradually faded out Radio Rwanda s signals to a minimal broadcasting network.
Through this Radio Rwanda had minimal influence and responsibility over the inflammatory
messages RTLM broadcasted making them the main voice of ethnic hatred (Kellow and Steeves
1998, 118). The main source for inflammatory comments and snide remarks situated from RTLM.
The stations continuous references and language such as vigilant, fight or kill, defend, and/or
exterminate only aided in fanning the flames during the times of low genocide when the kill count
dropped in numbers. The constant reference to inyenzi (or cockroach a term used to describe Tutsi
rebels and Tutsi civilians) directed its comments to a particular group, the Tutsi (Straus 2007, 623).
Radio can only be deemed effective if there is an audience to broadcast towards. If there is no
audience radio broadcasting becomes pointless and ineffective. Its effectiveness is achieved through
their popularity and through viewers acceptance of what is being presented.
RTLM immediately attracted a large audience, especially

The Altar By George Herbert
The Altar Analysis
The Altar by George Herbert is the first poem to appear in The Church. His poems are a record
of his private devotional life. In the poem The Altar , George Herbert creates an altar, which is
also required of Moses in the Bible. He makes the altar out of his heart and holds it together with
his tears. No one alters the tears from the way God made them. He puts his heart into this altar
that he makes to praise God. In the end, he wants God s sacrifice to be his, and for God to bless
the altar that he built for him. (Greenberg). This poem that is in the shape of an altar explains
how it takes work from the heart to build a relationship with God. In the poem The Altar , George
Herbert uses allusions to scriptures, he also uses symbolism, and his poem has two themes:
religion and art. This poem by George Herbert makes allusions to the scriptures in the Bible. In the
first two lines of the poem, he talks about offering a sacrifice to God. Herbert says A broken
ALTAR, Lord, thy servant rears, Made of a heart and cemented with tears; . These lines refer to the
Old Testament Psalms 71:17 which states The Sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and
contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. (Bible Gateway) In lines three and four Herbert
writes Whose parts are as thy hand did frame; No workman s tool hath touch d the same. He states
that while he was building his altar he is going to stick to the rules that God laid down about altars

Achilles The Real Hero In The Iliad
The Iliad, a series of epic poems originated from Homer and rewritten by Robert Lattimore,
chronicles three main characters: Achilles, Hector, and Agamemnon. All three of these courageous
men share common traits which variate with their roles in the war effort. Of the three, two are
clearly heroes whilst one can almost be considered a villain. Therefore, as seen through quotes from
the Iliadthe real hero becomes quickly identified. Achilleshas been considered the greatest hero of
the Greeks in the Iliad for numerous valid reasons. Similarly, Achilles not only stays humble, but
extremely courageous. Waiting patiently for Hector, Achilles says, No man so long as I am alive
above Earth... and see daylight shall lay the weight even if you mean Agamemnon. (1.88 90) In
this statement, Achilles says that no one should ever have power over him. So, must one be
called of no account and a coward if I must carry out every order you may happen to give me....
(6.293 303) Clearly, he fears no one and does not understand the meaning of failure. Achilles
constantly acts as man of fierce strength and courage. Tested Achilles spitefulness nature, elicits at
times, cruel... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Agamemnon states, The girl I will not give back; ...far from her own land, and being in bed as
my companion... (1.29 31) He is simply the cruelest and abominable character in the Iliad;
telling a daughter s father that he will never see her again and that she will be his partner in bed
until death. The lack of compassion needed to say such a thing to a grieving father remains
incomprehensible. He also said, Never let me find you again, old sir, near our hollow ships,
neither lingering now, nor coming again after. (6.106 120) He explains to the father that if he ever
sees him again, he will kill him on sight. Agamemnon s strength and leadership abilities could
promote him to be a great leader, but he fights for the wrong

Essay On Omega Watches
Omega Watches have a century long history and reputation of being the best luxury watch maker
in the world, appearing everywhere from the wrist of Neil Armstrong during the moon landing to
the official timekeepers of the Olympic Games to appearances in James Bond films. The most
expensive Omega watch currently available from Ethos is the Omega De Ville, with the most
expensive in the collection selling at rs 76, 04, 300 for a men s watch, although ladies watches are
available as well. Why do Omega Watches price so high? Why does the Omega brand carry so
much respect as a mark of quality? Here are some facts which explain why:
1.First co axil escapement watch
In 1997, the De Ville range became the first commercially available watches in the world to use co
axil escapement, a revolutionary piece of technology invented by English watchmaker George
Daniels which has become an essential component of all of Omega s best watches and has become
almost synonymous with the brand. This single piece of technology significantly decreases the
friction on the watch s components, meaning it requires less lubrication, lasts for much longer, and

High Powered Offenses In The NFL
With the exception of the Steelers who had to deal with the Patriots for a career playoff fourth
time, not a one of us thought these high powered offenses would be stopped. To many of us,
these teams represented in the words of Mike and Mike stone cold lead pipe locks and surefire
winners for that upcoming Super Bowl season. I mean how many number one defenses have
ever shut down number one offenses? The New York Giants defense was ranked seventh in
2007 when they entered the playoffs. The number one ranked Steelers defense couldn t even
handled the Patriots that year. But as it stands, great defenses seem to have a way of cutting
great offenses down to size. The 85 Bears completely demolished the Patriots in Super Bowl XX.
The 01 Patriots stymied the Greatest Show on Turf St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI. The
07 Giants stomped out and over the undefeated Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. The 14 Seahawks
overloaded Peyton Manning s Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. The 16 Broncos derailed the freight
train looking Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We ve offended people and we have been offended by people. At some point those offenses may
cause us to become defensive. In fact, I think we have deepened the American depth chart and
fielded a nation of defensive poses. Gathering from what we ve seen on the football field, we
know that a great defense tends to snuff out a great offense. As a result, I believe our culture has
become grounded by defensiveness and knocked out of rhythm. The only side working with any
rhythm is the defensive stances we ve taken on issues that others oppose. Defensive coordinators
could probably come up with a few new schemes of their own if they could figure out how to
translate what s happening in today s society in the film room. I know my cynicism is starting to
show by now. The point being, our defensiveness has either shifted us all the way to the far right or

Raising A Child Discipline
Not a single parent will ever say raising a child is easy. In fact, raising a child is, indeed, difficult.
It costs money, and a great deal of emotional, psychological and physical energy; just to name a
few. Most importantly, parenting never seems to happen as many parents have imagined or wished.
However, the intention of this paper is not to greaten the sufferings of the parents by provoking
their frustrations. It is rather to provide an insight or an option to make parenting less painful and
more enjoyable as it should have been in the first place. Out of many adjustments a parentcan make
for the betterment of his/her child and their relationship, one major component is discipline. There
are already many cases of failures of either over discipling or under discipling a child. However,
with a well balanced and prepared methods of disciplining, one s child can maximize to his/her
potential.
One of the most significant element of discipline is the consistency of rules. Parents should clearly
elaborate on what the rules are and both the positive and negative consequences following certain
actions. Statistics show that children whose parents are strict with rules are less likely to be
noncompliant and to become a juvenile delinquent compared to children raised by parents with a
lack of consistent rules. Studies further indicate that children s self esteem and send of self efficacy
directly correlate with their family s control in their lives. Such positive influence on the

  • 2. Reflection On Clinical Placement DESCRIPTION During my clinical placement, I have done the nursing standard 2 which is engaging in therapeutic and professional relationships. An example of one event in my placement where I have done this standard is when doing interviews in my two week community placement at the Community Rehabilitation in Armadale Hospital. For my reflection, I will be using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988). FEELINGS I am normally a very shy person so when we were told that we were to do interviews on the first day of my community placement I felt scared. I did not know how to approach people confidently let alone do an interview. I knew I could do it but I was not confident enough. I was already feeling overwhelmed because it was my first time to be placed in a hospital. EVALUATION The good thing in my experience would be that I got to have the experience of doing interviews and I actually enjoyed it. I also gained more confidence in interacting with my patients. The not so good thing would be that I have gained confidence in talking to my patients but not the staff or the people I was working with. I was still very shy in communicating with them. ANALYSIS I have learnt to do interviews during my placement. Because I took that step out of my comfort zone I believe that I have learnt a lot. I have learnt to take a step out of my shell and try. I have learnt that it is not worth getting worked up over doing interviews and talking to people, as it will be a major part of my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Essay On Romantic Love Love is an abundant emotion that has different degrees. There is familial love, friendly love, unconditional love, and of course romantic love. Romantic love will be the superstar of this article. Romantic love may be around every corner whether between an old couple or a young teenage romance. However, loveis not the easiest thing to attain. It is such a simple concept, though a difficult thing to actually have a person s hands on. Most people nowadays will yearn for something more commonly known as true love. True love can be explained in a sense that it is a person we may or may not consider as a soul mate. It can be someone we love to a certain degree that we feel happy, complete, and contented. The definition may be thrown out there in whatever way, but meeting eye to eye with said true love comes with certain complexity. In other times, we may be thrown off. What we think could be considered love may not actually be love. Though before knowing how to find love, one must know the basics when it comes to the act of loving in general. PsychologyToday.com records research on love. According to said research, vital things to a deep kind of love are physical attraction and a certain level of intimacy, which follow through with companionship that you feel towards the other person. The following can lead to difficulty because, in a sense, people of today are inclined towards an ideal view of romance. People are blinded by what they see in the media and relate whatever ... Aylmer asks her to pluck a flower and the whole plant suffered a blight, its leaves turning coal black as if by the agency of fire (220). The beautiful Georgiana tries to get a flawless flower thinks It is magical! cried Georgiana. I dare not touch it (220); instead she had caused the flower to die. Georgiana s touch was like the flaw characteristic that all human beings had, but Aylmer wanted nothing less than perfect. Aylmer states, there was too powerful a stimulus (222), in which he meant that the flaw Georgiana has caused that. As the flower continues to die, Hawthorne is trying to point out that the perfect flower can t survive if something imperfect touches it. The Wars of the Roses were not just one single conflict, but several (hence the name Wars not War) in England during the later half of the 15th century. The conflict is typically though to stem from the conflicting ambitions of the York and Lancaster families to control the English throne. The notion that The Wars of the Roses were a power struggle over the English throne is an obvious one to come to. Given the turbulence surrounding control of the throne, as well as the violent nature by which Kings were often replaced during this time it is easy to assume that the conflict was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such an analysis of the conflict is an easy one to assume based on the nature in which power shifted hands between the Lancaster and the York families during the time of the Wars of the Roses, however assuming the conflict was caused simply by two families fighting each other fails to consider much deeper root causes. If one examines the successful rule of Lancaster King Henry V compared to the ineffective rule of his son Henry VI it becomes obvious that weak rule, not a thirst for power was the catalyst behind the York challenge to the throne. Henry V faced no real challenges to his authority during his successful rule; Henry VI was eventually deposed after his rule saw the decline of England. Furthermore, given the shifting alliances of nobles, such as the Earl of Warwick, it is clear that supporting ones own kinsman was not the central factor in who nobles backed during the war. If the war was the result of family rivalry one would except family ties to be a crucial factor. Lastly the notion that the conflict stemmed from the York family wanting to take control of the throne away from the Lancaster family can be easily attributed to later Tudor propaganda. • 8. Analysis Of Gerald Davis s The Vanishing American... In the text The Vanishing American Corporation by Gerald Davis the corporate economy is a term of the past. According to Davis we are in the midst of the third industrial revolution (Davis 167). The reason is a combination of factors such as technology, the industrial movement, and inequality and political struggles to tame the market. More specifically novice and new technology began the collapse of the corporation. Since corporations ceased to exist the economy is unpredictable and unstable. Many of the once solid positions are replaced by offshoring work to other countries. Many people are unemployed however the unemployed remain undocumented. Given the unemployed remain undocumented the published unemployment figures convey the unemployment rate has gone down. Yet at the same time the labor force has dropped since 1977. The cause of undocumented unemployed citizens results from the number of social security not counted on the unemployment data. According to Davis the past two decades substantially outnumbers the unemployed. Many Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) citizens remain permanently unemployed. Also, many citizens live off part time jobs and rote tasks. Davis describes the end of the corporation as an apocalypse in nature. Davis colorfully illustrate the current job market is like an unmapped island full of dense rain forests, prone to earthquakes that rearrange the landscape, and with a volcano at the center (Davis 183). Many compare the instability of the economy of today to the 2008 financial meltdown. According to author Joel Havemann in 2008 the nation documented the economy as the world s worst dangerous crisis since The Great Depression since 2007. Afterward in 2008 a deep recession encompassed the world (. However, the 2008 crisis is not the same as the same as today. According to Censoo.com while losses could continue, the U.S. appears, at the moment, to be in a better position to weather them. That could keep a market downturn from morphing into a full blown financial crisis that then leads to an economic one (Censoo). The chief reason is because the United States (U.S.) holds less debt than government debt. American households now hold 15% of debt opposed to the 18.1% ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The creation stories are very limited in their explanations, and fail to explain the creation of anything aside from the earth. The corruption of the human race permeates even the strongest governments, as history has shown time and again. Madison markedly declares that the republican form of government is the optimal instrument for suppressing the flaws of human nature and for bringing forth those qualities in man that render him supreme over all forms of life. Furthermore, Madison advocates republican government as the precise remedy for the impending situation that was becoming more and more urgent in 1787. Nonetheless, the fact remains that any government formed by man will be imperfect. Mediation Is A Type Of Alternative Dispute Resolution Mediation is a type of alternative dispute resolution that gives the two disputing parties a third party to help them discuss and revise their points of conflict. The mediator acknowledges the points of which the parties are in agreement upon and builds upon those to create a solution between the two parties. Similarly, arbitrationincludes a third party that listens to the two disputing parties. However, in arbitration the arbitrator or the third party gives a final decision. In most cases, the decision given is binding. This means that it may not be reviewed or overturn by a court except in very limited circumstances (Repa, n.d.). But some parties have been known to agree to a nonbinding arbitration meaning that the award given can be rejected and the option of demanding a trial can be used. However, there are cases where the mediator can make a decision that is binding if both parties do not agree. In some cases, the mediation can be turned into an arbitration. In the majority of mediation processes, the goal is to assist the parties with their negotiation, and empower the parties to make their own decisions (Negotiation, 2014). The mediator themselves has no real authority over the two parties. Rather than with arbitration, the arbitrator or the panel gives the final closing decision that cannot be revoked. In the poem The Altar , George Herbert creates an altar, which is also required of Moses in the Bible. He makes the altar out of his heart and holds it together with his tears. No one alters the tears from the way God made them. He puts his heart into this altar that he makes to praise God. In the end, he wants God s sacrifice to be his, and for God to bless the altar that he built for him. (Greenberg). Herbert says A broken ALTAR, Lord, thy servant rears, Made of a heart and cemented with tears; . These lines refer to the Old Testament Psalms 71:17 which states The Sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
