everyone. By the age of ten, John was a die hard Braves fan. He rarely missed any home games at

Susan Sontag s Notes On Camp
It is important to first be aware of the concrete definitions of low culture, as defined by Susan
Sontag in her Notes on Camp (1964) Low culture is a derogatory term for popular culture and
working class culture A direct opposite to this is high culture, often favoured by the elite. In which
Sontag recognises that both high cultureand low cultureare minority cultures. The combined
influences of both strains constitute mainstream culture . Before looking at what low culture Pope
drew upon to produce his own high art it is important to understand the context of Pope s writing
and what was going on in regards to Literary History of that time period.
The English Neo Classical Movement dominated English Literature from the Restoration (1660) to
the lyrical ballads of 1798,1800 and 1802. It is conventionally divided into three parts. These being
the Restoration Age (1600 1700) where figures such as John Milton and John Dryden were
renowned. The Augustan Age (1700 1750) where Alexander Popehimself was a central poetic
figure and The Age of Johnson (1750 1798). The primary focus is of course the Augustan Age,
where Pope s work is prevalent.
The Eighteenth century brought a new war of words, with a quarrel in 1690 s France in L
Académie Française, putting in to place a new historical sense of culture across Europe. The
ideology is that classical authors and learning could not be improved upon or surpassed by modern
writers, instead they should look to imitate the great

Manhattan Project Impact
The great achievement or a great loss
The use of the atomic bomb, with its indiscriminate killing of women and children, revolts my soul.
This was Herbert Hover s response to the letter he wrote to the publisher, Colonel John Callan O
Laughlin, of the Army and Navy Journal. The term Manhattan Project came about between 1942
and 1946 during World War II as the atomic research began in the race to construct the first atomic
bomb. Even though the atomic bomb created caused there to be a great turning point in the World
War II favoring the Allies and especially the United States by facilitating the war to an end, there
are many who despise the use of the atomic bomb due to its copious negative impacts on the lives
of many innocents. It was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The advisers were insinuating to the powerful hydrogen bombs that may be the affect of this

Roosevelt was also seen to be concerned about the cavalier belief [5] where after the World War II,
America will still hold dominance in the atomic bomb area. There was the planning of the
memorandum [6], which disabused the higher ranking officials that such a theory existed. From all
these concerns laid out on the table, on may see that the officials took great precaution to proceed

How Does Malcolm X s Influence On Religion
It was an absolutely fascinating to read about this man s life his upbringing, life of crime,
induction into the nation of Islam while in prison, his career, his family and the manner in
which his attitude toward the White race changed near to end of his life. Malcolm X or El Hajj
Malik al Shabazz was not the history to the world but he is our proud and someone whom we
should learn something from. His courage and firm belief in Islam is something really amazing I
must say. I believe that all he did was talk.
Among the gists that I have learnt from his story are the fact that he learnt a lot from his past
experiences and his surroundings. All the exposure and racial pride and anger that went with it
has lead him to educate and reconstructed himself and also lead him to get involve with the
Nation. I totally believe that his attitudes, personality and charismatic values is shaped from all
the life experiences that he had gone through. For example, he learnt to be heard and recognized
by making noises and yelling at others or else everyone will ignore him. So, as time develops,
Malcolm X has understood so many things and that the things differ him from everybody was his
awareness and bravery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Stanford Prison Experiment Effect

The Impacts of Improper Methodology and Ethics While Researching
The Wakefield Factor

The Stanford Prison Experiment
Although harm is harm, harm can be measured. From my own point of view, the immunization
study with respect to Dr. Wakefield and his 12 colleagues, led to the most harm and it is one of the
greatest ethical abuse in the history of scientific research (Rao, S. T. S, Andrade, C, 2011).
However, the Stanford prison experiment is as well harmful. It causes psychological trauma on all
participants (the researchers inclusive). Moreover, the Standford prison experiment is a worth

Essay Comparing My Last Duchess And The Laboratory
My Last Duchess also written by Robert Browning is similar to The Laboratory as both are written
in the form of dramatic monologues.
My Last Duchess tells the story of a Duke who is arranging with a servant plans to gain the hand
of a count s daughter in marriage. The Duke takes the servant upstairs into his private quarters and
shows him several possessions the first of which is a portrait of his last duchess. The Duke keeps
this portrait hidden behind a curtain that only he may draw. The Duchess was apparently easily
pleased: she smiled at everything, and seemed equally as impressed when given a branch of
cherries as when the Duke married her. She also blushed easily. The Duchess s behaviour threw the
Duke into a jealous rage, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is selfish and and wants Porphyria to himself, he will not allow anyone else to have her and to
ensure this he kills her. This portrays Porphyria as his possession. The simplicity of the statement
also reflects the insanity of the speaker, to him killing Porphyria is a simplistic act.
The speaker discusses Porphyria s innocence, Fair, perfectly pure and good and the smiling little
rosy head this suggests that to him, Porphyria is pure and childlike. The alliteration draws attention
to her innocence and draws contrast to her previously seductive portrayal.
The speaker seems to want to possess Porphyria, so he reduces her to an object: a corpse, instead
of an independently thinking individual. Further evidence of the speaker s desire is demonstrated
through the repetition in that moment she was mine, mine . This emphasises the speaker s desire to
keep her in that perfect moment. The idea of Porphyria being the narrator s possession also
suggests something about the way in which he regards women.
The speaker s final line of the poem, And yet God has not said a word , suggests that he has got
away with Porphyria s murder. However this could also be interpreted as suggesting that men are
superior to women as God has not condemned him for killing

Police Enforcement Is An Evolving Agency Essay
Law enforcement has been an evolving agency just as many fields in the US. Most agencies have
the same goal, that is to prevent crime, investigate crime and apprehend criminals, maintain order,
and provide other miscellaneous services. The diversity in American cities is what makes law
enforcement unique, it has a huge impact and role as to how agencies operate with the citizens that
live in those communities. In the US policedepartments are more likely to use one of three or a
combination of 3 police strategies: community policing, problem oriented policing and zero
tolerance policing. With that being said all of these serve a purpose and have negative and
positives contributing effect onto communities. Through my experience and knowledge I have
learned from policing I would utilize a combination of problem oriented policing and community
policing if I were chief of police of a police department. Although both styles of policing have their
own goals and structures, problem oriented policing seems to tie in with community policing.
Utilizing these two styles would also help to bridge the gap between the community and the police.
Community policing is a model of policing that stresses a two way working relationship between
the community and the police, in which the police become more integrated into the local
community and citizens assume an active role in crime control and prevention, as stated in the
book The Police in America. This concept of policing style involves

Wuthering Heights by Emily BrontГ« is an English classic that tells the tale of star crossed lovers.
Despite the love for one another, society separates the two lovers and a rivalry between their two

which attracted Catherine. Feeling wronged Heathcliff vows revenge on Hindley for trying to keep
him from Catherine and treating him as a servant, and Edgar who stole the woman he loved and for

As an oncologist at Grady Memorial, an inner city hospital located in Atlanta, Dr. Brawley
witnesses the disastrous effects of healthcare disparity first hand. Healthcare disparities are vast
differences in quality and access to care between socioeconomic classes. health care disparities
refer to differences in health and health care between population groups. Disparities occur across
many dimensions, including race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, location, gender, disability
status, and sexual orientation (KFF, 2016). As Brawley describes to us, Grady is a hospital that
demonstrates health disparity at its worst. Brawley describes Grady as a monument to racism,
Racism is built into it, as is poverty, as is despair. (Brawley, 2011).

Honey As A Homeopathic Wound Care
If the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, man would only have four years left to

the bee s importance to our environment, however did he recognize the importance of their
honey to medicine. Many people will argue that old fashioned treatments are less effective than
modern medicines. While traditional medicines are simple and more easily applied, in most
cases, people will still be of the opinion that modern is better. A prime example of the

The Use of Semiotics in Coco Cola s Advertising Essay
The term Semiotics refers to the study of signs and symbols, the relationship between written or
spoken signs and of the meanings that are created. The essay will first of all try to give some
definition a review of the main terminology used in the study of Semiotics and will then apply
these to a series of texts, relating to advertising for Coca Cola.
The basics of Semiotics were laid down by a Swiss linguist, Ferdinand De Saussure (1857 1913).
He used the word to describe a new science which he saw as a science, which studies the life of
signs at the heart of social life [Saussure cited in Underwood] He considered that a sign had two
essential elements: the signifier and the signified. A signifier is any material thing that... Show more

have learned to associate with a particular signified (Underwood)
Coco Cola advertisement seemed a good choice of texts for analysis because of the nature of
Coca Cola s approach to advertising. The famous logo was created in 1885 and this together
with the iconic shapes of the bottle and corporate colours have not really changed since then.
The shape of the bottle and logo colouring, instantly identifies it as Coco Cola. The advertisement

The Invention Of Black Holes
Black Holes:
Introduction:
Without knowing the existence of black holes, we would still be stuck with many unanswered
questions concerning physics. The most important one would deal with the correctness of Einstein
s general relativity. When studying cosmology, various equations are used in order to explain the
different phenomena that it contains, which are derived from general relativity. With this theory
confirmed, all calculations appear more certain and confident. These objects are fairly important as
they are one of the least understood by humans because they depict laws of physics that appear
completely different from elsewhere in the universe, but, with study, can be more understood. Being
completely invisible, it becomes very difficult to observe and study them. However, astronomers
continue to develop different methods to do so. The question that remains is: What exactly is a
black hole? How do they work and abide to the laws of physics? Simple answer, black holes are
regions in space containing gravitational fields so strong that even light cannot escape them. As a
result, they absorb anything that comes close and becomes trapped by its grip. Black holes come
in various forms and sizes, which work differently depending on their properties. These properties,
such as mass, charge and angular momentum, help in defining black holes and it is using this that
it is possible to derive the math to understand them.

his character development, Chillingworth instantly puts up his selective perception and denial

Chillingworth s love for Hester. Chillingworth recognizes that Hester will not leave because of

Emily Dickinson s Feelings About Death Revealed in Her...
Emily Dickinson s Feelings About Death Revealed in Her Poem, Because I could not stop for Death
Emily Dickinson grew up in New England in the late 1800s. The nineteenth century was a
difficult time period for the people of America. There was an abundance of war, epidemic, and
death. Because her house was located beside a graveyard, Dickinson saw many of the elaborate
funeral processions as they passed (Murray). Because of these experiences, death became very
real to her, and it made a large impression on her life. Conrad Aikin, one of the many criticsof
Dickinson s work, believes that: Death and the problem of life after death obsessed her (15). She

Personification is a type of figurative language one uses to give abstract ideas human like
characteristics. Dickinson uses personification in this poem because it allows the reader to
understand death in a more intimate way. Death became so real to her and to her
contemporaries because of the time in which she lived. Through her life experiences, the poet
became intimate with death. Because of all the disease and epidemics in her lifetime, many of
her loved ones passed away. These deaths were very intense breaks in her life (Murray). Some
critics suggest that the death of her cousin was the inspiration for this poem (Semansky). In any
event, death had a large impact on Dickinson s life. This impact explains why she writes so
descriptively about it. In this poem, death is personified as a gentleman caller taking the lady out
for a carriage ride. This personification gives the reader a better image of the writer s idea of the
coming of death.
Dickinson gives Death many characteristics that help to shape our image of him. The line He
kindly stopped for me in the first stanza, immediately gives a male gender (2). This male image
gives the reader the traditional idea of the gentleman caller. This line also reveals a kind quality of
death. The kind quality is important throughout this poem because it allows the speaker to

Abstract
Tablet that contains a core covered with coatings is the most common form of medicine. In order to
determine the distribution of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in this heterogenetic system,
Raman techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, Raman microscopy, Raman depth profiling and
Raman imaging are utilized as well suitable tools because many drugs molecular structures are
Raman active.
Introduction
Raman spectroscopy and Raman microscopy will be utilized as major experimental methods
throughout this project. Films with different flavors (multi layered) will be divided into different
parts and will be tested and imaged to see if there is any flavoring component on each cell part of
the film. The contents of the aqueous dispersion used for film formation are: dibutyl sebacate,
poloxamer 407, magnesium stearate, water with or without different flavorings include 2

Compare And Contrast Football And High School Football
Middle school football vs. High school football
How hard do you think high school football is? I m in eighth grade and i was invited to play for
our high school. I can tell you from personal experience that high school practices are very rough.
Of course I was very honored but, it was also very different. The coaches are rough on you but it is
worth it.
First off, you have more freedom in high school. Now what I mean by that is if the coach calls a
play and the quarterback doesn t like it then he can change the play. But, if the play that the
quarterback called fails then we will probably have to run next practice. Also you can talk during
practice unlike in middle school practice. Their both football but high school football is

Essay On Georges Clemenceau
Georges Clemenceau Angelina Natale
Ms. Beck
Honors World Cultures Pd. 8

Georges Clemenceau also known as the Tiger and Father Victory , served as the French Prime
Minister during World War I. Clemenceau was born September 28, 1841 and died of natural
causes on November 29, 1929. Georges Clemenceau played an important role in World War I
because he made very critical decisions at the Paris Peace Conference, as well as in the Versailles
Treaty and overall led France through harsh times. Georges Benjamin Clemenceau was born in
Mouilleron en Pareds, France. His father, Benjamin, who was a political activist, is responsible
for shaping Georges inclination towards Catholic detest. Benjamin is also responsible for
Georges meeting a group of men who were plotting to overthrow emperor Napoleon III, as well
as Jules Michelet, a historian. In 1861, Georges and Benjamin went to Paris to study medicine.
While in Paris, Georges met a man of the republic opposition. This man created an association
named Agis Comme Tu Penses, which in English means Act As You Think. After Georges met this
man, he founded Le Travail, which was a journal that made his views on politics very clear. This
journal ended up getting him arrested. After he was released, he went to New York City. During his
time in the United States, he began teaching an all girls school in Stamford, Connecticut. There he

The Pros And Cons Of Student Athletes
Dean Clark Carter, I am a junior student here at Charleston Southern University. I write in regards
to an issue I have noticed on campus and would like to bring to your attention; should student
athletes receive special academic treatment? I believe that CSU should hold a student forum about
this issue so that all students gain knowledge about the topic, can share and debate opinions, and
create possible solutions.
In my past two years at CSU, I have heard student athletes argue both for and against receiving
special treatment. As Lombardi et al. mentions, the NCAA places academic criteria that student
athletes must meet in order to stay on their team, play games, and receive scholarships. Rules from
the NCAA and CSU are in place to keep athletes held accountable to academic standards in order to
play. According to the Charleston Southern UniversityStudent Handbook, if an athlete is found
to have participated in academic dishonesty, on the first offence he or she must sit out of 20% of
games played (10). The problem arises when alleged stories are spread around campus that
athletes are handed good grades by teachers in order to stay on their team. On the opposing side,
if grades start to slip, athletes will be put on academic probation and are not allowed to play until
grades improve. This is an example that the NCAA rules do apply and athletes do get punished for
not holding up their end of the bargain.
From an outside perspective, non athletic students on campus can be

Community Property In The United States
In Wisconsin if you are married then is called community property which means that people who

Imposition Of Residential Schools Essay
Residential schools were a normal aspect of Aboriginal people s lives in the 19th and 20th century.
The purpose of a residential school was to convert Aboriginal children to Christianity and to
assimilate them into Western culture. They were operated through the Canadian government and
the church. Aboriginal children were forcibly taken from their parents and put into a school, full
time. They were mistreated which led to problems that still afflict the Aboriginal population of
Canada today. Many Aboriginal people want the Canadian government to recognize the inhumane

The Growing Trend Of Elder Abuse Essay
The growing trend of elder abuse
Elder abuse also known as elder mistreatment has been around for many, many years but is now
just coming to the forefront and being acknowledged by the society on a whole. intentional
actions that cause harm or create a serious risk of harm, whether or not intended, to a vulnerable
elder by a caregiver or other person who stands in a trust relationship to the elder or (b) failure
by a caregiver to satisfy the elder s basic needs or to protect the elder from harm (p. 39).This abuse
can take many forms and in different settings as well as many different type of persons including
and especially family members and acquaintances. This type of abuse includes physical, sexual,
emotional, neglect both by a caregiver or self neglect, abandonment, psychological , exploitation
financially as well materialistically including fraud (Clark, 2015, p.914). With an estimated
doubling of the elderly population by 2025 to at least 1.5 to 2 million, increases in the number
of elderly person in the nation also means there will be an increase in elder abuse (Aravanis,
Adelman, Breckman, Fulmer, Holder, Lachs, ... Sanders, 1993). A declaration according to, The

Psychoanalytic Criticism Of Catch 22
Reading a narrative from a psychoanalytic perspective can prove to be a sometimes frustrating
experience. Psychoanalysis often disregards the actual texts and verbal context of a piece of
literature in favor of the Freudian and Lacanian ideas, which seek to find encrypted motifs in the
depths of every creation in order to reveal the author s unconscious mind. Nevertheless, the critiques
of psychoanalytic interpretation of literature claim that such interpretations focus on the content of
the text at the expense of the literary form and temporal dimension, which can reduce the literary
plots to lifeless machinations. Furthermore, psychoanalytic interpretation of a text may tell us less

It s a gambit even Yossarian might hesitate on. Yossarian s sinthome, which prevents him from
losing his mind completely, can be numerous things. It could be Yossarian s insistence to survive
the war in spite of the constant attempts of nearly everyone around him to kill him. It could be
his fight for human decency in the face of the horror of war. Or, quite possibly, it could be his
struggle to prove to the big Other that he will surmount the catch 22. The war affected Heller
more than he was willing to admit at the beginning of his career; however, the more he wrote,
the more he was able to deal with his demons. As such, the real story of his war trauma slowly
unfolded. The war experience left Heller as a tortured, funny, deeply peculiar human being
(Blake, 2011). Heller s sinthome during the war, it seems, was his writing. His writing is his
relief as well. It s his unraveling agent, and in that manner, it s therapeutic. One of his roommates
had brought with him a typewriter, giving a means for Heller s burning desires to relieve stress
through his writing. His distinguished career in writing may very well have stopped him losing
his mind in the harrowing nature of war (Blake, 2011). The best approach to succeed is to mortify,

The Artistic Elements Of LaocoпїЅn And His Sons
Laocoön and His Sons Muscles contorting in anguish, fangs brutally piercing the flesh, faces
drowning in suffering. This intense visual is shockingly manifested through marble in the sculpture
Laocoön and His Sons by Hagesandros, Polydoros, and Athenodoros of Rhodes. This alluring
orchestra of artistic elements is the perfect compilation of technical perfection and emotional
expression. The exaggerated drama of the piece is the style of the Greek s Hellenistic period. All
things considered, Laocoön and His Sons possess both exquisite formal components and content
and has the capability to provide insight into both the culture of the Greeks, as well as the attitudes
of humanity towards its enemies. To commence, the formal composition of Laocoön and His
Sons is enticing. The piece is carved in marblewith a height of eight feet. The marble white hue of
the statue seems to accentuate the intricate anatomy of the figures. The three males are arranged
upon a base. On one of the far sides of the platform, there resides a pillar style seating with
drapery which dangles off in a waterfall like manner. The central figure, and by far the most
substantial in size, Laocoön, sits at an angular position. This angular posture generates a dynamic
composition. His two sons, Antiphantes and Thymbraeus, struggle at his side as sea serpents
attack all three of the figures. There appear to be two sea serpents, one that is prominently digging
its fangs into Laocoön s pelvis. Moreover, a

Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen Essay
Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen High school history textbooks are seen, by students,
as presenting the last word on American History. Rarely, if ever, do they question what their text
tells them about our collective past. According to James W. Loewen s Lies My Teacher Told Me,
they should be. Loewen has spent considerable time and effort reviewing history texts that were
written for high school students. In Lies, he has reviewed twenty texts and has compared them to
the actual history. Sadly, not one text measures up to the author s expectation of teaching students

According to Loewen they got his name right, and not much else. Lies points out that there were
many groups of explorers that had discovered America before Columbus. He probably used
some of their information as a basis for his plans to sail west. A full eight pages are devoted to
other possible explorers. These groups include ancient groups from Indonesia, Japan, China, and
Phoenicia. More recent groups include the Vikings, British Islanders, West Africans, and
Portuguese fishermen. There are varying levels of evidence connecting these groups to pre
Columbian America, but still enough to throw doubt into the mix. Columbus got the credit
because of the way in which Europe responded to his discovery. Other false ideas taught about
Columbus deal with what is left out. His original motivation may have been to find another trade
route to the Orient, but his real motivation, in subsequent expeditions to America, was money. By
1493 Columbus had planned to plunder Haiti, according to Michele de Cuneo, who had been on
Columbus s first voyage. Columbus, himself, said to Ferdinand and Isabella that his motivation
was gold, and gold constitutes treasure; and he who has it does all he wants in the world, and can
even lift souls up to Paradise (Lies p34). Another side of Columbus

Margolin Vs Novelty Now Case Study
Milestone 1
Julia Cummings
BUS 206
September 24, 2017
In the case of Margolin v. Novelty Now the appropriate court for this lawsuit depends upon several
factors. In personal jurisdiction the book states that the courts are given the power to provide a
decision in affecting the rights of individuals (Kubasek). In this case, the court will give a decision
giving rights to Mr. Margolin, and taking rights from Novelty Now. For subject matter jurisdiction,
a certain specified court will be able to hear the case This means, that it must be decided which
court hears the case, whether state or federal jurisdiction. Since this case contains three different
states, the federal court system must be the one to hear the case. In this case, minimum contacts
must be determined to decide if a certain state will have power to assert personal jurisdiction over
a defendant from another state (Kubasek). In this case, it must be decided if New York will take
personal jurisdiction of the defendants residing in California, or Novelty Now residing in Florida.
Alternative dispute resolution may be an option to resolve this case. ADR is a method of resolving
cases through methods other than court. These can be negotiation, mediation, arbitration, mini trials,
private trials, etc. (Kubasek). In this case, negotiation outside of trial would be a good option for
Funny Face. ADR is often cheaper than a traditional trial as well. This way they would not have
to face bad publicity for this incident. This might also be a good idea for Mr. Margolin because

Language on the Funny Face website appears to limit any claim filed to arbitration as a means
of resolving the dispute. Arbitration is a method of resolution to a case by choosing a neutral
third party outside a judicial setting (Kubasek). Arbitration would be a good solution for both Mr.
Margolin and Funny Face in this case. Mr. Margolin would be able to explain his condition and
provide medical evidence stating that Funny Face was indeed the cause of his condition. However,
a neutral third party may believe that there was enough stated by Funny Face for Mr. Margolin to

Consumer Behaviour Towards Fmcg
Consumer behavior towards the new packaging of FMCG products. The importance of packaging
design as a vehicle for communication and branding is growing in competitive markets for
packaged FMCG products. This research utilized a focus group methodology to understand
consumer behavior toward such products. The challenge for researchers is to integrate packaging
into an effective purchasing decision model, by understanding Consumer s behavior towards the
packaging of FMCG products. When consumers search for and process information in store, the
product s package can contain relevant and useful information for the consumer. Product packaging
forms the end of the promotion chain and is close in time to the actual purchase and may therefore...

Prosecuting Attorneys
What are the duties of a prosecutor? The prosecutor has broad discretion in determining whether
or not to charge the accused of a particular crime. Depending on the size of the municipality a
prosecutor serves, job duties can vary. In larger offices, prosecuting attorneys may be assigned to
specific areas of the law, such as traffic violations or juvenile offenses. In smaller offices, they may
be responsible for all aspects of criminal prosecution.
Prosecuting attorneys begin a case by reviewing police reports and performing research. They may
meet with witnesses or victims. They use their gathered information in court to present the case
against the accused defendant. Prosecuting attorneys must follow cases through each stage of the

This part of the research will discuss about the critical success factors of Business Process
Management. Prior to the discussion of the CSF s of BPM it is important to point down the factors
that influences success can be classified in to two groups.
The first group consists of the predecessors, which should already exist in the organization, prior to

Leadership
There are lot of literatures which focuses on the role of leadership in BPM efforts (e.g. Ahadi
(2004) and Sutcliffe (1999)); the role of leadership in BPM process leads to the process driving,
monitoring and controlling. Hammer and Champy (1993) said that the reason for most of the
failures in business process changes is the lack of leadership. They explained a senior management
leader should be effective in eliminating the political issues among the employees in the
organization, should be capable of providing a suitable structure for compensations, solving the
conflicts between the managers and the employees and should lead the IT department in
organizations.
The senior management should have high power which lead to effective implementation of BPM
projects.
Leadership is very important in different phases and levels of implementation of BPM projects and
some of its affects in the process have been explained widely in different research.
Leadership in BPM Success context can be classified in to two main sub constructs. They are as

Detroit Fratricide Analysis
In order to help explain the demise of this once great city and the deviant culture of todays youth in
Detroit, I will be using a documentary that I came across on YouTube entitled, Detroit Fratricide by
Seven the General. According to the documentary, Fratricide is the killing of ones own.
(Seventhegeneral) This documentary explores the reasons behind the crime and violence in Detroit.
According to the Huffington post, Detroit has the highest murder rate in the United States. It is
also known as the most dangerous city in the United States. In this paper I will be explaining
Detroit s broken society using the knowledge from the documentary, as well as other well
documented sources. Then I will relate my findings to sociological concepts... Show more content

I can t sell drugs... they say don t sell drugs. I try to get a job but they don t hire black people. So
what do I do? But you see a dope dealer with a nice car all his 5 6 kids and baby mamas eating
good, got different kind of cars, they live in three different house, what is the lesson then?
(Seventhegeneral) It is clear that the youth of Detroit have no bond to society as they feel like
victims of the larger society. For many in Detroit their deviant behavior brings them rewards such
as food and shelter. When the youth try to follow the right path their met with oppression which
leads them to divert back to deviant

Athletic Training Rotation
My clinical rotation for the fall semester of my junior year is with the King s College Men s soccer
team. As an athletic training student, I hold a lot of responsibilities regarding the prevention,
evaluation, diagnosis, management, and treatment of these student athletes. Most of my daily
activities can be separated into three groups, the pre practice, pre game, during the activity, and post
practice and post game. Along with knowing human anatomy, other important characteristics of an
athletic trainerare having good communication skills, learning how to properly document
medical information, and always be keeping up to date with medical portals such as pyramed.
Before the athletes arrive for practices and games, I start off by getting the team a few water
coolers and water bottles set up at their designated practice area in order for the players to be
properly hydrated. After filling up the water, I always check to make sure the gator is properly
equipped with an AED, splints, and a fully stocked medical kit. Shortly after, the soccer team starts
to arrive. Once the athletes arrive, the next step is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout my athletic training career communication is going to be a key factor in not only the
prevention, diagnosis, management, and treatment aspects of athletic training, but also helping
recognize when athletes just don t seem like themselves, which may signal that they do not feel
right. As an athletic trainer I will also have to have the ability to communicate with other health
care professionals such as physicians and physical therapists on a daily basis. Using pyramed portal
throughout the semester will help become more organized when dealing with a patient s medical
history, which goes hand in hand with becoming

Analysis Of St. George s The Dragon Falls
A fair maiden walks solemnly through the city gates, away from her family, her home, and
everything she has ever known. She begins to weep as she heads down the dusty dirt road,
towards a large pond, the home of the treacherous dragon that terrorized the surrounding cities.
Just before she reaches the pond, a man in glimmering silver armor rides up to her on a majestic
white steed. He calls out to her and asks why she weeps. The distraught girl warns him of the dragon
of the pond, begging him to flee before it is too late. The man, the mighty St. George, refuses her
request just as a thundering roar fills the air. Before their eyes, the fearsome dragon rears out of the
water, bellowing his rage to the skies. Saint George charges... Show more content on

While it is likely that the dragon slaying is merely an embellishment on St. George s true tale,
what are the limits of the fiction revolving around this legend? Did St. George receive credit for
another man s triumph? Did anybody ever slay the dragon in Silene, Libya (where St. George
was said to have slain the dragon)? Was there ever a dragon in Silene? Were there ever dragons
anywhere in the world? Tales of the mighty reptilian beasts known as Dragons can be found all
over the world from all throughout history. The origin of dragons is unknown, although there are
legends that can be traced to approximately 5,000 B.C. (Owens). These legends have appeared
independently all over the Earth, with variations of course, but still enough similarity to be clearly
identified as the same creatures. Although the modern world no longer fears dragons as the
dangerous creatures lurking in the hidden corners of the world, should their existence be dismissed
entirely? The Earth has held many equally monstrous creatures, from the 60 ft. shark Megalodon
(Patton) to the 50 ft. snake Titanoboa (Gowan) or even the recently discovered 130 ft. titanosaur
(currently unnamed) (Frizell). Compared to other creatures that have roamed the Earth, dragons
may seem no less believable however, (I) although dragons appeared independently and
simultaneously across the globe, they did so with many physical and behavioral differences (II)
nowadays dragons have faded into mythology,

The Impact Of Disney On The Disney Company
Disney is striving to this adopt this type of media within it s operations to make it more appealing
to it s customers. Most recently, Disney has altered it s website 3 times in 5 years, possessing a
game like appearance. In order stay competitive, they have to make making investments into upstart
technologies. Disney purchased Marker Studios for $500 million. Marker Studios consist of an
online network of comedians, performers, and educators. The benefit of Marker Studios, is the
availability of popular online content which enables the company to distribute effectively. This is a
start to improve their digital media.

External Factors that have affected the Walt DisneyCompany

In the multimedia world, Disney has a few competitors in which it has to outperform in order to
remain as a Company. They include the CBS Corporation, Time Warner Cable, News Corp,
Carnival Corp and Paramount Pictures. All these companies have a footprint in television, film,

My Final Grades From The Past Two Semesters
What you see before you are my final grades from the past two semesters. While I know you re
concerned with the letters and numbers, rest assure that these are about as insightful as an
Instagram photo. My first semester of freshman year, for the most part, went by without much
of a hiccup. I was able to coast by with the same mindset towards learning I carried in high
school, and I finished with a 3.30 GPA. Afterward, my second semester was what lead me to
buckle down. I realized that I would need to dedicate my time outside of the classroom to
studying and comprehending the material. My classes were going to become harder, each
assignment more crucial, and my time more valuable. Thus, about midway through the
semester, I was building better habits with studying and learning in general. Keep in mind that
at this point; I was still adapting to the routine of a college curriculum. Even though I adopted a
serious attitude towards each of my classes, there was still something working against my favor.
Looking back now, I realize that I had been enrolled in more credit hours than, perhaps, what I
could handle. The increase was only one extra credit hour (16 to 17) which came from a chemistry
lab that I needed to take as a science. But, considering that I went from taking all 100 level classes
to 200 level classes, including a 300 level class, the extra credit hour was enough to stretch my
workload. Plus, we had a lab report due almost every week, which is more than what you

Hollywood Portrayal Of Native People
Hollywood has been making movies about many people throughout the begining. One of the most
popular types of these movies is old westerns with cowboys and Indigenous people. Hollywood
has not always represented an accurate portrayal of Indigenous peoples in the portrayal of all
Indigenous Peoples as Plains Peoples, savages, and constantly warring against other tribes. The
Indigenous Peoples were not all Plains Peoples. Many of the indigenous people were from the
southwest United States, with many splinter groups and many more different cultures (Text 5). With
hollywood s portrayal of the Plains people they lost all the cultureof the many groups of people
who were very different. With the loss of the culture and only one culture of the Indigenous
peoples represented the reality of the representation was sorely inaccurate. The Iroquois were a
group of people in the Central New York region who had a largely different culture from the
Plains People. Their society was a matriarchal society, in which the women would own the land
and head the family (Text 1). The Plains People were not portrayed in such a fashion making an
even bigger gap in the representation of each culture. The Indigenous Peoples were often
portrayed as savages within Hollywood s culture. When Mary Rowlandson was captured and
enslaved by a tribe of Indigenous People near her she saw who they really were. They may have
subjected her to slavery lack of shelter, food, and make her walk long distances, but in her

  • 3. Susan Sontag s Notes On Camp It is important to first be aware of the concrete definitions of low culture, as defined by Susan Sontag in her Notes on Camp (1964) Low culture is a derogatory term for popular culture and working class culture A direct opposite to this is high culture, often favoured by the elite. In which Sontag recognises that both high cultureand low cultureare minority cultures. The combined influences of both strains constitute mainstream culture . Before looking at what low culture Pope drew upon to produce his own high art it is important to understand the context of Pope s writing and what was going on in regards to Literary History of that time period. The English Neo Classical Movement dominated English Literature from the Restoration (1660) to the lyrical ballads of 1798,1800 and 1802. It is conventionally divided into three parts. These being the Restoration Age (1600 1700) where figures such as John Milton and John Dryden were renowned. The Augustan Age (1700 1750) where Alexander Popehimself was a central poetic figure and The Age of Johnson (1750 1798). The primary focus is of course the Augustan Age, where Pope s work is prevalent. The Eighteenth century brought a new war of words, with a quarrel in 1690 s France in L AcadГ©mie FranГ§aise, putting in to place a new historical sense of culture across Europe. The ideology is that classical authors and learning could not be improved upon or surpassed by modern writers, instead they should look to imitate the great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was Herbert Hover s response to the letter he wrote to the publisher, Colonel John Callan O Laughlin, of the Army and Navy Journal. The term Manhattan Project came about between 1942 and 1946 during World War II as the atomic research began in the race to construct the first atomic bomb. Even though the atomic bomb created caused there to be a great turning point in the World War II favoring the Allies and especially the United States by facilitating the war to an end, there are many who despise the use of the atomic bomb due to its copious negative impacts on the lives of many innocents. • 5. How Does Malcolm X s Influence On Religion It was an absolutely fascinating to read about this man s life his upbringing, life of crime, induction into the nation of Islam while in prison, his career, his family and the manner in which his attitude toward the White race changed near to end of his life. Malcolm X or El Hajj Malik al Shabazz was not the history to the world but he is our proud and someone whom we should learn something from. His courage and firm belief in Islam is something really amazing I must say. I believe that all he did was talk. Among the gists that I have learnt from his story are the fact that he learnt a lot from his past experiences and his surroundings. All the exposure and racial pride and anger that went with it has lead him to educate and reconstructed himself and also lead him to get involve with the Nation. I totally believe that his attitudes, personality and charismatic values is shaped from all the life experiences that he had gone through. For example, he learnt to be heard and recognized by making noises and yelling at others or else everyone will ignore him. My Last Duchess tells the story of a Duke who is arranging with a servant plans to gain the hand of a count s daughter in marriage. The Duke takes the servant upstairs into his private quarters and shows him several possessions the first of which is a portrait of his last duchess. The Duke keeps this portrait hidden behind a curtain that only he may draw. He is selfish and and wants Porphyria to himself, he will not allow anyone else to have her and to ensure this he kills her. This portrays Porphyria as his possession. The simplicity of the statement also reflects the insanity of the speaker, to him killing Porphyria is a simplistic act. The speaker discusses Porphyria s innocence, Fair, perfectly pure and good and the smiling little rosy head this suggests that to him, Porphyria is pure and childlike. The alliteration draws attention to her innocence and draws contrast to her previously seductive portrayal. The speaker seems to want to possess Porphyria, so he reduces her to an object: a corpse, instead of an independently thinking individual. Further evidence of the speaker s desire is demonstrated through the repetition in that moment she was mine, mine . This emphasises the speaker s desire to keep her in that perfect moment. The idea of Porphyria being the narrator s possession also suggests something about the way in which he regards women. The speaker s final line of the poem, And yet God has not said a word , suggests that he has got away with Porphyria s murder. However this could also be interpreted as suggesting that men are superior to women as God has not condemned him for killing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Police Enforcement Is An Evolving Agency Essay Law enforcement has been an evolving agency just as many fields in the US. Most agencies have the same goal, that is to prevent crime, investigate crime and apprehend criminals, maintain order, and provide other miscellaneous services. The diversity in American cities is what makes law enforcement unique, it has a huge impact and role as to how agencies operate with the citizens that live in those communities. In the US policedepartments are more likely to use one of three or a combination of 3 police strategies: community policing, problem oriented policing and zero tolerance policing. With that being said all of these serve a purpose and have negative and positives contributing effect onto communities. Through my experience and knowledge I have learned from policing I would utilize a combination of problem oriented policing and community policing if I were chief of police of a police department. Although both styles of policing have their own goals and structures, problem oriented policing seems to tie in with community policing. Utilizing these two styles would also help to bridge the gap between the community and the police. Community policing is a model of policing that stresses a two way working relationship between the community and the police, in which the police become more integrated into the local community and citizens assume an active role in crime control and prevention, as stated in the book The Police in America. This concept of policing style involves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The output of every organization depends on how well and how much the performance of the employee is appraised and evaluated. Appraisal performance of individual, groups and organizations is something important for all organizations to succeed and achieve its objectives. • 18. The Use of Semiotics in Coco Cola s Advertising Essay The term Semiotics refers to the study of signs and symbols, the relationship between written or spoken signs and of the meanings that are created. The essay will first of all try to give some definition a review of the main terminology used in the study of Semiotics and will then apply these to a series of texts, relating to advertising for Coca Cola. The basics of Semiotics were laid down by a Swiss linguist, Ferdinand De Saussure (1857 1913). He used the word to describe a new science which he saw as a science, which studies the life of signs at the heart of social life [Saussure cited in Underwood] He considered that a sign had two essential elements: the signifier and the signified. The famous logo was created in 1885 and this together with the iconic shapes of the bottle and corporate colours have not really changed since then. The shape of the bottle and logo colouring, instantly identifies it as Coco Cola. The advertisement analysed below is taken Vogue Magazine (Issue November 2007) and is for Diet Coke which was a new venture for the company in 1982 and within two years Coke had become the top low calorie soft drink in the world. Although Coke replaced the traditional name of Coca Cola , the red is still used and silver replaces the white The traditional iconic and immediately recognizable bottle shape has been kept. • 19. The Invention Of Black Holes Black Holes: Introduction: Without knowing the existence of black holes, we would still be stuck with many unanswered questions concerning physics. The most important one would deal with the correctness of Einstein s general relativity. When studying cosmology, various equations are used in order to explain the different phenomena that it contains, which are derived from general relativity. With this theory confirmed, all calculations appear more certain and confident. These objects are fairly important as they are one of the least understood by humans because they depict laws of physics that appear completely different from elsewhere in the universe, but, with study, can be more understood. Being completely invisible, it becomes very difficult to observe and study them. However, astronomers continue to develop different methods to do so. The question that remains is: What exactly is a black hole? How do they work and abide to the laws of physics? Simple answer, black holes are regions in space containing gravitational fields so strong that even light cannot escape them. As a result, they absorb anything that comes close and becomes trapped by its grip. Black holes come in various forms and sizes, which work differently depending on their properties. These properties, such as mass, charge and angular momentum, help in defining black holes and it is using this that it is possible to derive the math to understand them. Hester Prynne Flaws In The Scarlet Letter , a fictional drama written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne, the protagonist, cheats on her husband, Roger Prynne/Chillingworth, with Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale. There are many internal and external problems with these characters, as you would expect from a drama. If this novel is approached with psychoanalytical literary criticism, then the characters psychological problems will likely be revealed (hazlet.org). Arthur Dimmesdale is an obvious victim of his psychological problems. His form was emaciated , his voice had a certain melancholy prophecy of decay in it , and he would often put his hand on his heart, with first a flush and then a paleness, indicative of pain (Hawthorne 124). Very soon, however, his look became keen and penetrative as a writhing horror twisted itself across his features (Hawthorne 63). This shows that at the start of his character development, Chillingworth instantly puts up his selective perception and denial defenses and gets the situation from a nearby towns person (Purdue OWL). This is evidence of Chillingworth s love for Hester. Chillingworth recognizes that Hester will not leave because of her adultery with Doug Dimmadome Dimmesdale, and decides that he wants to punish the man who stole his love, not the love herself or Pearl. His goal was to make Hester leave Dimmesdale behind because he was weak and cowardly. This does not happen of course, and after the seven years that have taken place, he sort of gave up on Hester abandoning Dimmesdale. His only purpose for being became damaging Dimmesdale. Emily Dickinson s Feelings About Death Revealed in Her Poem, Because I could not stop for Death Emily Dickinson grew up in New England in the late 1800s. The nineteenth century was a difficult time period for the people of America. There was an abundance of war, epidemic, and death. Because her house was located beside a graveyard, Dickinson saw many of the elaborate funeral processions as they passed (Murray). Because of these experiences, death became very real to her, and it made a large impression on her life. Conrad Aikin, one of the many criticsof Dickinson s work, believes that: Death and the problem of life after death obsessed her (15). Personification is a type of figurative language one uses to give abstract ideas human like characteristics. Dickinson uses personification in this poem because it allows the reader to understand death in a more intimate way. Death became so real to her and to her contemporaries because of the time in which she lived. Through her life experiences, the poet became intimate with death. Because of all the disease and epidemics in her lifetime, many of her loved ones passed away. These deaths were very intense breaks in her life (Murray). Some critics suggest that the death of her cousin was the inspiration for this poem (Semansky). In any event, death had a large impact on Dickinson s life. This impact explains why she writes so descriptively about it. In this poem, death is personified as a gentleman caller taking the lady out for a carriage ride. This personification gives the reader a better image of the writer s idea of the coming of death. Dickinson gives Death many characteristics that help to shape our image of him. The line He kindly stopped for me in the first stanza, immediately gives a male gender (2). This male image gives the reader the traditional idea of the gentleman caller. This line also reveals a kind quality of death. The kind quality is important throughout this poem because it allows the speaker to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Pros And Cons Of Student Athletes Dean Clark Carter, I am a junior student here at Charleston Southern University. I write in regards to an issue I have noticed on campus and would like to bring to your attention; should student athletes receive special academic treatment? I believe that CSU should hold a student forum about this issue so that all students gain knowledge about the topic, can share and debate opinions, and create possible solutions. In my past two years at CSU, I have heard student athletes argue both for and against receiving special treatment. As Lombardi et al. mentions, the NCAA places academic criteria that student athletes must meet in order to stay on their team, play games, and receive scholarships. Rules from the NCAA and CSU are in place to keep athletes held accountable to academic standards in order to play. According to the Charleston Southern UniversityStudent Handbook, if an athlete is found to have participated in academic dishonesty, on the first offence he or she must sit out of 20% of games played (10). The problem arises when alleged stories are spread around campus that athletes are handed good grades by teachers in order to stay on their team. On the opposing side, if grades start to slip, athletes will be put on academic probation and are not allowed to play until grades improve. This is an example that the NCAA rules do apply and athletes do get punished for not holding up their end of the bargain. From an outside perspective, non athletic students on campus can be ... These groups include ancient groups from Indonesia, Japan, China, and Phoenicia. More recent groups include the Vikings, British Islanders, West Africans, and Portuguese fishermen. There are varying levels of evidence connecting these groups to pre Columbian America, but still enough to throw doubt into the mix. Columbus got the credit because of the way in which Europe responded to his discovery. Other false ideas taught about Columbus deal with what is left out. His original motivation may have been to find another trade route to the Orient, but his real motivation, in subsequent expeditions to America, was money. By 1493 Columbus had planned to plunder Haiti, according to Michele de Cuneo, who had been on Columbus s first voyage. Columbus, himself, said to Ferdinand and Isabella that his motivation was gold, and gold constitutes treasure; and he who has it does all he wants in the world, and can even lift souls up to Paradise (Lies p34). • 42. Margolin Vs Novelty Now Case Study Milestone 1 Julia Cummings BUS 206 September 24, 2017 In the case of Margolin v. Novelty Now the appropriate court for this lawsuit depends upon several factors. In personal jurisdiction the book states that the courts are given the power to provide a decision in affecting the rights of individuals (Kubasek). In this case, the court will give a decision giving rights to Mr. Margolin, and taking rights from Novelty Now. For subject matter jurisdiction, a certain specified court will be able to hear the case This means, that it must be decided which court hears the case, whether state or federal jurisdiction. Since this case contains three different states, the federal court system must be the one to hear the case. In this case, minimum contacts must be determined to decide if a certain state will have power to assert personal jurisdiction over a defendant from another state (Kubasek). In this case, it must be decided if New York will take personal jurisdiction of the defendants residing in California, or Novelty Now residing in Florida. Alternative dispute resolution may be an option to resolve this case. ADR is a method of resolving cases through methods other than court. These can be negotiation, mediation, arbitration, mini trials, private trials, etc. (Kubasek). In this case, negotiation outside of trial would be a good option for Funny Face. ADR is often cheaper than a traditional trial as well. This way they would not have to face bad publicity for this incident. This might also be a good idea for Mr. Margolin because the case will go much faster, meaning he could get restitution much faster, and would cut his legal costs as well. Language on the Funny Face website appears to limit any claim filed to arbitration as a means of resolving the dispute. Arbitration is a method of resolution to a case by choosing a neutral third party outside a judicial setting (Kubasek). Arbitration would be a good solution for both Mr. Margolin and Funny Face in this case. Mr. Margolin would be able to explain his condition and provide medical evidence stating that Funny Face was indeed the cause of his condition. However, a neutral third party may believe that there was enough stated by Funny Face for Mr. Margolin to have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My first semester of freshman year, for the most part, went by without much of a hiccup. I was able to coast by with the same mindset towards learning I carried in high school, and I finished with a 3.30 GPA. Afterward, my second semester was what lead me to buckle down. I realized that I would need to dedicate my time outside of the classroom to studying and comprehending the material. My classes were going to become harder, each assignment more crucial, and my time more valuable. Thus, about midway through the semester, I was building better habits with studying and learning in general.
