  • 6. PA SLOs The SLO in PA is written to a specific teacher and a specific class/course/content area for which that teacher provides instruction.
  • 7. Targeting Growth Activity #1 • Read page one of the article. • Individually, write a twenty five (25) word summary about what you just read. • Share your summary with your team. • Create a twenty (20) word summary as a team.   • 9. Targeting Growth Activity #3 “Why consider SLOs as a Teacher Evaluation Strategy?” (pg. 4) Administrators: How do SLOs compliment your vision as an instructional leader? Teachers: How can SLOs positively influence your educator effectiveness rating?.
  • 13. Section 1 – Classroom Context Re-read numbers one and two (page 2, article). Look at Section 1 of the template. What questions do you have? Populate Section 1.
  • 14. Section 2 – SLO Goal Identifying Standards Rationale Endurance: Will this standard provide students with knowledge and skills that will be of value beyond a single test date? Leverage: Does this standard provide knowledge and skills that will be of value in multiple disciplines? Readiness for the next level of learning: Will this standard provide students with essential knowledge and skills necessary for success in the next level of instruction? Goal Should include baseline or trend data. We’ll come back to this!
