grab the audience’s attention and
immediately portray the aesthetic
of the film for the audience.
The title of the film is easily separated from
the rest of the text and informs the audience
on the name of the film.
The middle right border contains
a menu of each section of the
website. This increases the
usability of the website by easily
separating each important
section of information for the
audience, therefore making great
use of the grid system. The website has very high
usability as the homepage
contains well organised sections
of information on the film, such as
information on the filmmakers,
actors, reviews and cinema tickets
to watch the movie. The awards
that the film has been rewarded
are also portrayed.
The website makes great use of
images by adding the as the
background of the website.
Scenes from the film can be seen
as the viewers scroll down to get
more information on the film.
4. Technical Codes
Technical codes are interactive parts of the website, such as clickable links, videos or moving images. Most websites
now use them so as to attract the audience and allow them easy access to more information
The website makes use of clickable links at the top of
the page to advertise the movie by giving the reader
direct links to watch the trailer, buy tickets to watch the
film and easily connect to the film’s social media. This
helps the audience share the film with their peers and
learn more and get more interested.
Technical codes were used to make
the trailer automatically pop up as
the reader enters the website. This
would allow the viewer to
automatically see the trailer of the
film and get interested
A interactie menu is set up along the
right hand side of the website to follow
as the user scrolls down and make it
available to visit any section of the
website at just a click.
5. Content
A website must contain useful and informative content that gives the viewer all the information necessary. The information
must be relevant to the purpose of the website, in this case the film, without containing too much information to the point
of overwhelming the viewer. The website should also try to address a many sections of information that could be
necessary to the audience.

film’s cast so as to inform the reader of
the actors in the movie. This is for the
reader to read up about the actors they
watched or will watched.
The synopsis of the film is
included on the website so as to
give an insight into the topic of the
film to those who are interested in
watching the film
Within the content of the film
information on the creators of the film
is also available for the viewers or
future viewers to to get informed
6. Content
The website provides an entire
section of links to buying the
soundtrack of the film, the
film’s facebook and the original
book the the film was based
upon. This is meant to intrigue
the reader into wanting to learn
more about the film.
The site provides the viewer with a
gallery so as to allow them to get
an idea of the visuals in the film
and the kind of aesthetic that the
film follows.
The website provides the reader with
a section on the reviews received by
the film and from who. This helps the
reader see opinions of the film and
decide whether it’s worth watching
7. Genre
The website creator’s choice of layout and design is based on existing genres (e.g. Tabloid, Comedy Film, Lifestyle
Magazine). The web design uses genre specific codes and conventions to make sure that the audience
associates the website with the intended genre and already have an idea of the content of the website.
The website maintains the same blue and yellow colour scheme, giving a feeling of an artsy film which focuses on
colour and aesthetic. The website maintains the same background colour which allows the reader to almost be
immersed into the film’s aesthetic and inspiring the target audience to watch the film.
8. Target Audience
Different audiences find specific layouts and fonts more appealing than other, this is used to attract the website's
target audience and capture their attention to the content. A website's main goal is to encourage their target
audience to interact with the website and want to share it with more of their peers, this would lead to the website
attracting more of their target audience.
The simple and modern layout targets the
younger audience. The use of only two
statement colours is very visually pleasing to a
general audience.
The use of quotes from various newspapers and
magazines along with film critics attracts an older
audience
The mention of
social media
attracts teenagers
and young adults
