2. • In order to attract our audience, we used
the same techniques that the professional
distribution would create:
• a poster for P&A
• a film website
• a Twitter feed
• All these platforms are linked, creating
synergistic whole
3. The key visual code here is the haunting stare of the victim. Thriller film
audiences would respond to this arresting image with its direct address and
engagement with the audience. The image embodies the film title An Eye for
Danger visually. It clearly signals the genre. The trail of red connotes blood,
hinting violence. The eye colour is enhanced in Photoshop to beautify the victim
and engage the audience’s interest.
4. We made a film website with the visual code of the knife running over the top
of the girl. This is a key image in our film and suggests violence. On our
website we have the name of the film and the director all in the same font as
that of the poster to maintain consistency and create a recognizable image.
On the webpage there are links to all the forms of social media to increase
interactivity. There are also tabs to other pages on the site. These include a
photo gallery where audiences can explore behind the scenes pictures, a
videos tab with short behind the scenes videos for audiences to watch, a tab
called About the Film where viewers can find out more about the film (plot,
actors and release date) and a trailer to watch.
5. We set up a twitter feed for our film. This is the best way to achieve two way
interaction between the film creators and the audience. Here we explain what is
happening with the film but it is mainly used to create hype about the film. On
twitter we can launch competitions and use hash tags so that audiences can
tweet about the film thus providing us with additional free promotion. Twitter
enables the audience to talk directly to us (the film creators) as well.
