Drafting Note For Recitals ( A )
Drafting Note to RECITALS (a) Confidentiality agreements typically do not describe the
contemplated transaction in detail to avoid the implication that the parties have come to any agreement
on the terms of the transaction. Nonetheless, the definition of Transaction should be drafted carefully
to prevent potential misuse by the Receiving Party of the Disclosing Party s information. For instance,
the Receiving Party may abandon negotiations and launch a hostile bid for the Disclosing Party using
the Disclosing Party s information in formulating the bid. This form defines Transaction as a
negotiated transaction, and thus the use by the Receiving Party of the Disclosing Party s information
to launch a hostile bid would be a breach of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition of Proprietary Information in this form provides that information can be considered
Proprietary Information regardless of whether it is marked confidential. Including such a provision
can help the parties avoid an overly burdensome diligence process and any accidental failures to mark
information as confidential. Drafting Note to Paragraph 1(a) This provision contains each party s
confidentiality and non disclosure obligations with respect to the Proprietary Information. It also
permits each party to disclose the other party s Proprietary Information to its Representatives who
need to know such information in order to advise such party in doing the deal. Each party will want to
ensure that the other party s Representatives are also bound not to disclose the Proprietary
Information. Note that some parties may be uncomfortable with explicitly assuming responsibility for
any breach of this agreement by its Representatives. The party may require certain of its
Representatives to enter into a joinder or separate confidentiality agreement with the Disclosing Party.
Alternatively, each party may

The Challenges Of Global Logistics
On Amazon s global site, people from around the world can purchase items, from clothes to toys to
food and have them shipped directly to their front door. While this can seem to be a great opportunity,
shipping logistics can be a nightmare for Amazon and take extensive amounts of time for the buyer.
One student, Xiao Bixue, from Beijing, China explained that the quality of goods from Amazon are
good, but the tariffs are expensive and shipping takes time (Bixue and Xinling). With the differences
in cultures and distance to consider, how can Amazon expect to compete globally?
The Challenges to global logistics
There are many challenges to Amazon when considering global logistics. Some processes must be
done through the U.S. Amazon website. Shipping costs can be high. And, because Amazon is shipping
products greater distances, time plays a large factor in receiving and returning products. How to deal
with these issues can be quite complex. Differences in expectations, such as quality and price, should
also be a consideration. Due to the variety of culture, how the customer should be treated can differ as
well.
Because most product descriptions and comments are written in English, non English speaking people
have a difficult time purchasing on Amazon s Global store. Only general descriptions are translated
and some translations can be confusing or completely wrong. Because Amazon has global customers,
they also have a wide variety of expectations from these customers. Areas

The Culture Industry And Commodification
By making itself more vulnerable to social and economic relationships, authenticity has turned itself
into a commodity. Something becomes a commodity when its social character is denied and is
abstracted to be exchangeable in the marketplace.24 The true concern of the mind is to avoid this
process of reification; if this fails to happens thought turns into a cultural asset and is simply used to
be consumed and used by the power structure.25 While The authentics despise the superficial and
vapid pseudoindividuality of the inauthentic individuals they simply fail to properly critique it.
Authenticity becomes another form of bourgeois thought. It represents the increased specialization
that stems from the division of labour rather than disruption. It is one of the many specialized forms of
thought that distracts people instead of having them question abstraction in the first place. It is even
worse than other aspects of bourgeois thought; the other disciplines do not proclaim to be solving the
alienation that they have caused.
The contempt of the culture industry and commodification has itself been commodified in a series
catch words. The buzz words used by the authentics become no different than the words of
advertising.26 This jargon of authenticity has a certain rare pathos that allows for a higher exchange
value on the marketplace.27 There are various examples of authenticity s marketability. brand
authenticity is defined as maintaining brand standards and style,

The Gun Show Loophole
Since the Brady Act was introduced in 1998, we know that there have been approximately two
hundred and thirty million background screenings done to date. However, imagine how many more
could have been completed if the right laws were in place for unlicensed dealers. The laws that are in
place today are lacking at best, therefore a major issue with purchasing these firearms happen at gun
shows, which is also known as the gun show loophole. In an article, written by Mark Duggan of the
MIT Press, states that THOUSANDS of gun shows take place in the United States each year. Gun
control advocates argue that the gun show loophole makes it easier for potential criminals to obtain a
gun; the loophole basically allows unlicensed vendors at gun shows to sell firearms without
conducting background checks on purchasers. (Duggan) A twenty one year old cannot even walk into
a bar or a liquor store and purchase alcohol without the proper identification, nevertheless someone
with a known criminal background or a person with a history of mental illness can walk straight into a
gun show and purchase deadly weapons without even flashing an identification card, but per our
government laws, that s completely legal.
Gun lobbyist continue to stand by their gun shows though, they cite a U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics
survey that found that 0.7% of state prison inmates that have ever owned a gun reported that they
obtained it at a gun show. (Duggan) The lobbyist main argument is that,

Dental Problems Of The Dentist
If you are diagnosed with any type of Head and Neck cancer, the last person you would think about
visiting is your dentist. Most patients are surprised when told that they will have to see a dentist before
any cancer treatments can be started. The dentist plays an important role in preventing serious mouth
problems before and after your radiation treatments and also helps you maintain good oral health
during and after your treatments. Dental problems such as gum disease, cavities, and poorly fitting
dentures can get worse during treatments. This will be crucial not only for esthetic purposes but for
functionality of your mouth as well. Head and neck cancer accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the
United States. It is estimated that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The studies found that poor condition of the mouth, poor fitting dentures, and missing teeth were in
fact among the causes of oral cancer. There are different treatments for head and neck cancers.
Radiation and surgery are major curative modalities with adjuvant chemotherapy for advanced stages.
Radiation therapy is indicated in the majority of head and neck cancers because of where the tumors
are located in this region and are often inaccessible for surgery. Radiation therapy is the use of high
energy x rays or other particles to destroy cancer cells. The radiation may be delivered by a machine
outside the body called external beam radiation therapy, or it may come from radioactive material that
is placed in the body near the cancer cells, that is called internal radiation therapy, or brachytherapy.
Radiation kills cancer cells by damaging their DNA. DNA that is damaged beyond repair stop
dividing or die off. Once the damaged cells die, they are broken down and the body eliminates them
by the body s natural processes. Radiation can damage normal cells as well. All the doctors involved
in creating a treatment plan for the patient, take potential damage to normal cells into account when
planning a course of radiation therapy. All normal tissue has a certain amount of radiation that it can
safely receive and tolerate with Gonzalez 3 out complications. Radiation can be used before surgery to
shrink

The And Considerations Behind The Creation Of Our Group...
This essay will discuss the reasons, choices and considerations behind the creation of our group
newsletter, Manaakitanga. It will involve relevant theories to support my following reflective essay,
including research on document design and group dynamics.
The rationale of our Manaakitanga newsletter is for all members across the twenty one branches of
Hospitality New Zealand, informing them about new topics, and sharing the most recent and latest
news within Hospitality NZ (New Zealand) for the employees to read. Manaakitanga is an internal
newsletter for employees, sharing the changes, achievements, the news and events that have a broader
appeal, keeping the interest alive for the readers (Kent, 2011).
First of all the content of Manaakitanga involves an interview, Early morning starts on a winning
streak , secondly an article on What is coming up in the summer months , thirdly a spotlight story on
one of Christchurch s most popular restaurants, and last of all a story on New Zealand s drinking
culture and a calendar of events highlighting important up coming courses and events for employees
to attend to.
The interview featured on page four of Manaakitanga is significant to Hospitality NZ because as we
know the Rugby World Cup is occurring at the moment and The Sale and Supply of Alcohol
Amendment Act 2015 are allowing on license and club license holders to open outside of their normal
opening hours to screen live Rugby World Cup games. Many of the rugby games are

Man Haron Monis Hostage Crisis Case Study
The hostage taker situation that I chose for the previous assignment was about Man Haron Monis, who
took 17 hostages in Sydney, Australia. The type of hostage for this case was a barricade siege situation
which means that the police officers knew the exact location of where he was keeping the hostages.
Man Haron Monis did have a logistical but not negotiated success in his operation. What does having
success in a hostage situation mean? According to Scott and Sandler ( (1987) , logistical success is
whether the mission went to plan, for example, did the hostage takers board the plane, or did they
manage to capture the embassy hostages (Wilson 2015)? He had a logistical success because Monis
was able to capture the seventeen hostages inside

Parker s Back by Flannery O Connor
To the uninitiated, the significance of Flannery O Connor s Parker s Back can seem at once cold and
dispassionate, as well as almost absurdly stark and violent. Her short stories routinely end in
horrendous, freak fatalities or, at the very least, a character s emotional devastation. Flannery O
Connor is a Christian writer, and her work is message oriented, yet she is far too brilliant a stylist to
tip her hand; like all good writers, crass didacticism is abhorrent to her. Unlike some more cryptic
writers, O Connor was happy to discuss the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of her stories,
and this candor is a godsend for the researcher that seeks to know what makes the writer tick.
Flannery O Connor put much conscious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For me, the most chilling aspect of the story is the description of a prophetic water stain above Asbury
s bed:
Thematic Elements
This concept of displacement runs throughout O Connor s work, and it is essentially a displacement
from the world of the one true God, a theological displacement, although within the context of the
story it is more social, based on the nature of the freak s position in the society. Very often, the
grotesque elements of O Connor s stories are balanced out by anagogical ones. Again, the latter are not
specifically symbols, for symbols work contextually to represent interactive story elements, whereas
O Connor s anagogical elements are just there, they wander in and out of the action; they may have
symbolic significance, but it never comes directly into play as a plot element. Facing death is another
thematic element that recurs often in O Connor, for obvious reasons, both personal and religious. 23 O
Connor admits as much herself, in an essay in which she discusses A Good Man is Hard to Find : The
heroine of the story, the Grandmother, is in the most significant position life offers the Christian.
She is facing death. 24 This last quote speaks volumes; it is probably the single most significant and
telling remark the student of Flannery O Connor can have in his attempt to understand her work.
Clearly facing death as a Christian was the motivational engine that

The Pope s Encyclical Letter
Substituting fossil fuels with renewable resources would help in preserving the environment. The
Pope goes on to explain how our current model of consumption and production has led to a decline in
the quality of human life, and water. Many people in power offer weak solutions to the problems at
hand and do not do much to remedy them. Since economic interests often supersede the interests of
the rest of the population, significant progress is not being made in many areas. The Pope talks about
how inactivity toward the issue of climate change is the result of self destructive habits that humans
have. Sometimes humans believe that ignoring a problem will make it go away, but that is not the
case. In the Encyclical letter the pope makes valid claims about how ... Show more content on

When one looks at the current state of the world, it is very clear that private interests are doing their
job very well, however the governments of the world are not doing their jobs of protecting the people.
It is important to call out those who are not doing their jobs well. Most governments have the power to
suppress economic interests that are damaging the environment, however they often fail to because
these governments are filled with dishonest and greedy politicians. When one looks deeper, one can
see that the fault of global warming does not lie with private interests, but with government, which is
failing to do its job. In the letter, the Pope mentions how everything is connected, and how ethical
deterioration is leading to environmental deterioration. One solution that the Pope could have
proposed is that people should honestly analyze the politicians that they are putting into power, and
seek to educate themselves and the rest of the public, to make informed decisions when it comes to
putting people in power. Too often people vote without enough education on the subject, and thus they
are susceptible to the influence of those who

Tata Motors Case

Introduction
Tata Motors is an automotive company to take notice of. Representing the evolving Indian population
and growing economy of one of the world s key emerging markets, it is a market leader for
commercial vehicles and third for passenger vehicles in the Indian market. It shocked the world by
introducing the $2000 Nano in 2009 and also by growing its portfolio by purchasing Jaguar Land

time, Tata Motors has also made some very smart global moves through its purposeful joint ventures

India is not only becoming a key market for the sale of automobiles but also for the production of
automobiles. By 2016 India is expected to output 3 million of the world s small cars (compared to the
current production of 1.8 million for all passenger vehicles. Additionally, it is expected that more and
more parts of the supply chain will migrate to India as it provides low cost supplies, highly skilled
engineers, and creative solution to automobile designs.
Although Tata Motors is a market leader for CVs in India, it falls a distant third to Maruti Suzuki for
PVs. As of February 2010, Maruti Suzuki captured 44% of the domestic PV market, whereas Tata only
has 14%, slightly behind Hyundai with 16%.
Maruti Suzuki is a key domestic competitor, especially since it commands a first mover advantage.
This is because it was the first to offer a modern car to India when it launched the Maruti800 in 1983.
This name has become synonymous in India will small car.

Black Spider Monkey Research Paper

A.K.A Black Spider Monkey According to Primate Info Net, there are seven species of spider
monkeys recognized with the Black Spider Monkey included. The Black Spider Monkey is the largest
of them all. These adorable monkeys have long, shiny black hair covering their bodies, except for the
face, which is red or pink. One thing that makes these monkeys stand out against other monkeys is
their long, prehensile (defined as capable of grasping ) tails. With this fifth limb, they have more
stability when resting in trees and grasping branches. For extra ease in swinging through the trees,
they have an extra mobile shoulder joint. These monkeys are large, but with a slender frame, a pot
belly and spidery limbs (which is where their name comes from). Male spider monkeys are typically
52 58 cm in length, with their tail can grow to be as long as 72 85 cm by itself. Females are usually 49

with a large amount of rainfall. It is massively biodiverse, with around 80,000 species of plants found

The Science Fiction Story, A Reporter
Anthony Ha
ESS 102
Research Paper In the science fiction story, a reporter goes to board the first public flight to Mars. He
writes about what he experiences such as the feeling of being the first passengers to Mars, seeing the
technologies that recycle water, eating fresh produce in space, and the final landing on Mars a year
later and watching the rovers that landed before him moving about. Many problems of space travel
stem from the fact that supplies are limited in space. A trip to Mars with current technologies would
take eight months to travel to Mars and that is just robotic missions (NASA 2012a). This presents an
obvious problem that a space flight can only carry a limited amount of food, water, and air. Any
system also needs to be powered by electricity. Current food technology consists of prepackaged food.
There are a couple problems that space food has to be able to solve. One problem is that space food
has to not just float around and get into vents, crevices, and machinery. This is a hazard that scientists
have to keep in mind when making food. Also, it should be long lasting enough to last in space until a
resupply. The food the astronauts eat in the International Space Station right now are all packaged
food sent up from earth. There is freeze dried food which is cooked before being flash frozen and
vacuumed. This is then rehydrated with water when astronauts want to eat. There are wetpacks, which
are food pouches that don t need to be rehydrated like

Why High School Students Dropout
High School Dropouts Dropout is a broad term used to classify a person who has abandoned their
class or field of study. A great number of the teens that drop out of school are thought of as being in
the same category, but there are countless different reasons why students drop out of high school. Be it
living in low poverty areas and having to quit school to work and help the family out. Struggling with
learning disabilities and being in special education or even rebelliousness and pregnancy. Among the
abounding states in our country, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana have the highest high school
dropout rates.
Poverty stricken areas have high dropout rates. One of the main reasons for this is the need for a teen
of working age to help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teen birth rates were high in the same states with the poverty and special needs issues. With Louisiana
teen birth rate at 47.5 births per 100, ages 15 19(Wright). This means almost 50% of the children born
during this time frame were born to underage mothers entering high school or just graduating.
Typically, when a teen gets pregnant in high school they drop out. This is either due to having to get a
job and support her now new family or even the embarrassment of her situation. In the south,
particularly many teens are made to marry at young ages due to pregnancy and forced to grow up.
This situation is avoidable if parents would push their children to finish their high school education
and recognize how important receiving their diploma is.
I am hopeful as we enter a new time that the dropout rates in these southern states will become less
and less. That we can break the cycle on families having to depend of the government for different
programs to survive, so that we can begin to pour money into the school system to help the teens with
learning disabilities make it through school. I am hopeful that in these new times teens are not forced
to marry and stop pursing their education. I am optimistic one day everyone will realize how
important completing high school is and the rates we see now will soon be

Era of Heroes in the Golden Age of Sports
The 1920 s was an era of role models and great heroes. This period was known as The Golden Age of
sports. This was a time where Americans wanted to put the memory of the World War I in the past and
appreciate life. It began with the Black Sox scandal of 1919 continuing with historic record breaking
athletes. The introduction of radio made is easier for fans to follow their favorite teams. The economy
of the United States was strong for most of the time. New and bigger stadiums were built and for the
first time Americans began to pay money to watch such high level of competition. This is a decade to
be remembered. Sports are very vital. They offer a lifestyle, an occupation, and even a dream. Sports
require physical activity and skill in which a team or an individual compete against others for
entertainment. As David G. McComb comments in Sports in World History , there is a high degree of
training, investment, and coaching, along with spectators, rules, publicity, and institutional control that
come along with these activities. While participating in sports, it is required to be able to undertake a
difficult situation and perform the best out of it. Sports are definitely more than just a game. Baseball
is widely known as the national pastime in the 1920 s. It was by far the most popular sport of the era.
The most famous athlete in the country at the time was George Herman, commonly known as Babe
Ruth. The right fielder for the New York Yankees hit homerun after

Themes In The Great Gatsby
Time. It affects all of what we know and are. Living in the past can affect your present, and living in
the future can affect your present. We see that as we read both The Great Gatsby and The Love Song
of J. Alfred Prufrock . Three common themes arise in both of these literatures. Those themes are:
mortality, memories/the past, and isolation. When we realize that we are not immortal, we then tend to
focus on our past or our memories we have made because those are what we lived for because we don
t want to be isolated when we are older. They may not seem like they are connected, but all three of
these very much so affect one s life and how they live it. That is shown throughout the characters
narrated.
In The Great Gatsby , some of the characters know that they are past their prime. They don t need to
be the center of attention or anything like that because they understand that it isn t their time to shine
anymore. That s shown in this example: I belong to another generation...
As for me, I am fifty years old, and I won t impose myself on you any longer. They have accepted that
they are not it anymore. Even though the theme is common between both passages, it means
something different in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock . The meaning is different here because
the author knew he was past his prime and all that he had done means nothing now.
He doesn t care about the big, glamorous things anymore but moreso the simplistic things in life.

Chronicle Of A Death Foretold
The negative consequences of colonialism continue to be evident in the works of various authors who
address the issues that continue to plague the post colonial world. While the consequences of
colonialism vary throughout geographical regions and colonizers value systems, the social constructs
that were imposed upon the native people are quite similar. In particular, the effects of racial
classification continue to have internal and external consequences in a post colonial world. In A Small
Place, by Jamaica Kincaid and Chronicle of a Death Foretold, by Gabriel García Márquez, the authors
describes the adverse effects that stem from the social construct of race imposed upon the natives by
colonizers as a classificatory tool, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gabriel García Márquez presents the foretold murder of Santiago Nasar, a Colombian of Arab descent,
who is accused of taking a woman s virginity (20). The narrator, who is a friend to Nasar s murderers,
attempts to point out all of Nasar s differences to the Colombian people. Santiago Nasar has a
Colombian mother and Arabic father with whom he feels a stronger connection because they speak
Arabic, but never around Nasar s mother (Márquez 3). The fact that he must contain his own identity
because of his Colombian mother portrays the discomfort held by Colombians towards the foreigners.
His foreignness contributes to the accusation made towards him which eventually led to his murder.
The author hints that Angela Vicario is lying when she is interrogated by her brothers for the name of
the one who took her virginity, because she looked for it in the shadows and found it at first sight
among the many, many easily confused names from this world and the other (25). She looks for a
name from the dead and the living because she knows the grave fate that would follow her decision.
Angela seemed to feel compelled to choose his name because she either believes that he did not
deserve life or that his life would not be considered valuable. Only his other Colombian friends of
Arab descent actually warn him of the murder threat and none of the other citizens of the town are
able to reach out to him before it is too late. The racial divisions and sense of foreignness held
between the people of Nasar s town and Nasar contributed to his death and the factors that stopped
other people from attempting to warn him of his

Jane Hall was an American physicist born in 1915 at a small town outside Denver Colorado. Shortly
after receiving her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago in 1942, Hall became a research
assistant at the Chicago Metallurgical Laboratory. Her reputation like so many other determined
female scientist of the time proved an excellent scientist and administrator earning her a position as a
Senior Supervisor at Hanford less than a year later. At Hanford, in addition to her normal duties, she
led several studies that uncovered information about the effects of plutonium inhalation on the human

The Chinese Room Thought Experiment Analysis
John Searle s thought experiment in paper Minds, brains and programs from 1980 is one of the most
recognisable and broadly accredited critiques of artificial intelligence (AI) an idea that computers are
(or some day will be) able to think. Researchers in AI field often make a claim that our mental activity
can be compared to a computer following a program. In such a view human brains do nothing more
but simply process information on a massive scale. The most important question that Searle wants to
discuss in his paper is: What psychological and philosophical significance should we attach to recent
efforts at computer simulations of human cognitive capacities? (p. 417) In order to tackle this idea he
establishes two different types of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Have you seen or heard the news lately? Radioactive waste water contamination... Contracts for the
disposal of radioactive waste... Nuclear sites and dumps leaking... Cancer and Death by Radiation...
What is all this? More importantly what is radioactive waste?
Radioactive waste. What is it? Radioactive waste is what the name says it is; radioactive and waste.
Basically, it is anything that has been exposed to a radioactive nuclear substance and is not in use of
anyone anymore so it is declared as trash. Also bear in mind that any definitions or information varies
in different countries. Now, there are many different types of waste, ranging from the least amount of
hazard to the greatest amount of hazard. The ones with the least amount of radioactivity tend to have
shorter lives. They decay in less than 30 years and are called, short lived . The ones with a greater
amount of radioactivity perish in more than 30 years and are called, long lived . Let s break these
types of wastes into three parts. Low level waste (LLW), Intermediate level waste (ILW), and High
level waste (HLW).
Low level waste are objects that we deem small or unimportant and have been infected with

Hydroclimate of the Northwest of the United States Essay
Although runoff and streamflow have generally decreased in the Northwest over the past century
(Luce and Holden, 2009), instances of flooding particularly in rain dominated and transition basins
have increased over the same period (Hamlet and Lettenmaier, 2007), and are often driven by
exceptional precipitation events. Impacts are basin specific and dependent on antecedent conditions,
though higher intensity storms generally result in increased flooding and runoff risk, and such events
can disrupt systems ranging from ecological (e.g. Knapp et al., 2008), to agricultural (e.g. Rosenzweig

Descriptive Essay About The Cemetery
The cemetery I chose to visit and explore was the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx. On the way to
the cemetery I couldn t help but feel anxious. When I began to drive past the cemetery to its entrance,
all I could see were miles and miles of headstones. It was eerie to say the least. As a kid, whenever my
family would drive by a cemetery, my siblings and I would hold our breath until we passed so as to
not breathe in the wandering, lost souls. Actually going into a cemetery to look around seemed
counterintuitive, I wasn t sure if I would be able to hold my breath for that long. It didn t help that
right when I entered those black gates that separated the living from the dead, clouds of smoke and ash

see all the lives lost, especially those who lost their lives before they even really began. However, to
my surprise, as I made my way through the graveyard this feeling of sadness slipped away. The sun
began to shine through the clouds of gray and illuminated both the cemetery and my mood. I was
delighted to notice that many of the tombstones I encountered read that these lives that were lost were
not taken too soon. Most of the people had lived over eighty years and were buried next to fellow
family members who also lived just as long. It was nice to see that many people were laid to rest next

instructor. I was correct for the most part, the course consisted of very similar content. The biggest

The Anti-Hero In 1984 And The Party
Firstly, both novels share a dystopian and tyrannical setting. In 1984, the people of Oceania are

violent and potentially fatal retribution from the Thought Police. There are no actual laws, which
allows the Party to instil any policy whenever it desires with Big Brother s best interest in mind, so
that they can easily influence and in many cases command their people. In CWO, the police are
ruthless, immoral men, however crimes like robbery and rape are frequent because although the
society is brutally controlled, Alex and his gang spend their evenings rebelling an anarchic, riotous
way much like other gangs in the novel. This highlights the difference in the characterisation of the

4G Long Term Evolution Case Analysis
Abstract
Telecommunication technologies have evolved rapidly over the past decades, a situation which led to
the arrival of the 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) to provide faster data speed better than the legacy
3G EVDO data technology. Certainly, LTE has been of great benefit to both individuals and
corporations across the globe. However, operators are often faced with challenges such us Capacity
constraints, slow throughput due to increased numbers of usage, interference from other wireless
equipment, as well as poor coverage issues.
Over the years, telecommunication operators have been adopting strategies to mitigate all these
challenges in order to improve user experience. This research focused specifically on the optimization

It is also believed that the common issues that occur in the LTE network could be reduced drastically
if attention if given to certain engineering practices. The research revealed and discussed some of
those factors.
Furthermore, to understand the concept of LTE optimization in the practical sense, a case study was
done with drive test data collected on Nex tech wireless network and a detailed analysis was made and
some issues were identified and rectified in the network.
By and large, the findings from the research and the deductions from the case study only proved that
there is a tremendous benefit in adopting a quality optimization strategy in any LTE network. More so,
not only do the subscribers get great quality of service but the operators also make maximum financial
gains.
Introduction
LTE network optimization remains an integral part of the LTE network. The main objective of
optimizing the LTE network is to ensure that (Ue) has good service which translates to good user
experience such as high data speed. The LTE optimization approach usually follows a process.
Optimization engineers follow this process to find out where the problems in the network are as well
as identifying what the problems are and then subsequently proposing ways to resolving them.
The first stage of the process is data collection where very sophisticated tools and

able to obtain. All in all we have conducted the research on real estate. We have discussed the median

$825 or more to $1,075 for amenities for what they want. Also a survey was conducted showing how
many people are using the internet to conduct searches for homes. But the figures also showed using

Society As An Outsiders
In William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily and Sherwood Anderson s Hands, both authors present main
characters who is isolated in their respective societies. In Faulkner s work, Emily is an outsider
because she chooses to remove herself from mainstream society by not interacting with other people.
Similarly, in Anderson s work, Wing Biddlebaum chooses to remove himself from society since he has
been falsely accused of being a child molester. In this way, both characters are outsiders in their
communities by choosing to remove themselves of their own free will. First, there are several types of
outsider based on different reasons. A person who decides to take himself away from the society, or
one who different from most people can be said to be an outsider. a person not belonging to a
particular group, set, party, etc. An outsider can also mean someone who is not within boundary or
enclosure. a person not belonging to a particular group, set, party, etc. (OutsiderDictionary.com. Web.

when one is trying really hard to succeed at a particular thing but is having difficulty doing that; like
in the case of a student who is having difficulty in passing a course while most of the students seem to
be having no problem with the class. Such student can be said to be an outsider. While this is the case
for students, a homeless is said to be an outsider too. There are various kinds of

The Importance Of The Canadian Charter Of Rights
The Canadian Charter of Rights has been entrenched in the Constitution Act of 1982 since 1982 and
affected the lives of countless Canadians ever since it was passed, with most if not all of the effects
being positive. This can be proven by the fact that the act that the act has only faced two amendments
in the 35 years it has been in effect. Furthermore, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms has five
components; Fundamental Freedoms, Democratic Rights, Mobility Rights, Legal Rights, and Equality
Rights. All of these were designed to make sure that Canadians face no discrimination, and are not
denied any basic rights. This can be seen by seeing how much the quality of life for Canadians has
increased over the time the Charter has been embedded in the Constitution, by how much the Charter
actually does protect the rights of Canadians. The first way that the Charter has improved the quality
of life for Canadians is through its section on Fundamental Freedoms, it ensures that Canadians are
guaranteed the right to express their opinions, choose their own religion, organize peaceful meetings,
and associate with any person or group. These four subsections have gone miles in improving the
comfort Canadians now experience, starting off with the right to express your opinions, this has been a
big problem for First Nations when they were taken into residential schools and were not allowed to

Analysis Of Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Truths Hawthorne s wilderness is exactly what its name implies: wild. It does not hold the same rules
or laws that Puritan civilization does. Instead it presents a myriad of situations and emotions, which
make it one of the most important symbols in The Scarlet Letter. However, there is a twist. It doesn t
just symbolize one thing, but two that are distinctly contrary to one another. The forest can be a place
of true nature where a person is shown as who they are supposed to be, not who other people make
them out to be. The forest can also be a place of uncovering the sin that lies beneath everyone s mind.
These purposes have one thing in common: the revelation of truths.
To the characters, the forest can be a place of solitude and separation that dismantles all of the strict
and artificial laws of man. It is here that Hester Prynne may undo the clasp that fastened the scarlet
letter, and, taking it from her bosom, threw it to a distance among the withered leaves (Hawthorne
138). The scarlet A is the epitome of unnatural and restricting guidelines set forth by man, yet within
the trees nothing of that kind matters. The forest has served as the setting of Hester s liberation and
has enabled the true form of her to be shown, albeit only to Dimmesdale and Pearl. Through her
actions, Hester has used this location to tear away the shackles of Puritanical expectation and define
who she really is by the only laws that matter, nature s.
The forest continues the attempt by

The welfare reform system s goal was to get people off the welfare system and onto the job market.
The hope was to move people from dependency to self reliance. Opposition to the new welfare reform
system has occurred. Some believe support in a welfare to work program might create new problems

arrangements for policies that design welfare to work programs that pursue the dual goals of economic
self sufficiency for families and healthy development of children.
Welfare policies aimed at improving family circumstances for both children and parents must not
make the error of focusing solely on parents; if the intention is to enhance the immediate and long

youth and their parents. These issues have brought about numerous debates. These debates have

focusing on the welfare of the child, the parent, the employer, and the taxpayer. Improvements to the
Welfare System will prevent fraud by allowing more than one family member to work; limiting
opportunities to receive a higher education; and providing opportunities to rise above poverty.

Many problems are caused by organized crime every day. Criminal organizations are really
sophisticated and manipulative. They are constantly examined by law enforcement officials which
forces them to be furtive, secretive, and cautious. One major problem that we have is the victims that
are or have been a target for the organized crime activities. Crimes include; drug trafficking,
gambling, prostitution, and more. Crimes such as these involve individuals who are buyers and seller
who are labeled as a willing participant. Communities that are faced with this problem are labeled as
the victim because of how organized criminals make their money. The community takes a hit
especially when crimes involve, violence, swindling, or thievery. According to Lyman amp; Potter
(2007), Clearly, criminal associates are often victimized by organized crime members, but law abiding
citizens are also victimized in a number of ways. First, citizens are sometimes the direct victims of
organized crime enterprises (violence, extortion, intimidation, etc.). Second, billions of dollars of tax
revenue from organized crime go uncollected (estimated at $37 billion in lost taxes every year),
resulting in higher tax rates for law abiding citizens. Third, expenses related to law enforcement,

3. How is free energy useful for understanding enzyme function? Free energy is useful for
understanding enzyme function because it is required to initiate the conversion of the reaction to

between the product and reactant, they do, however, decrease the activation energy and facilitate the
formation of the transition state, speeding up the reaction.

imitate the transition state but bind firmly to the active site of enzymes. Transition state analogs also
include a class of irreversible inhibitors called suicide inhibitors in which the substrate binds to the
active site of the enzyme, attacking and killing the enzyme.

These are the strengths within your organisation. What exactly is it about you and your business that is
better than the competition? Examples might include quality products, advanced technology, advanced
knowledge and a long established business. Identifying the strengths of your current business or a new
venture can improve the efficiency of your sales and marketing efforts it helps you to visualise the
unique selling point of your business which helps you write better sales copy, create better sales
letters, make more successful sales calls and develop smarter marketing campaigns.
Weaknesses
Be realistic about what is weak about your business. Are you less advanced than the competition or do
you produce lesser quality products? Understanding what is weak about your business can help you to
negate these shortfalls, you might produce lesser quality products BUT you are cheaper. Having an
awareness of your weaknesses allows you to be smarter with your marketing messages, it helps you to

Contemporary American Class Structure Essay
Contemporary American Class Structure
Social class is defined as people having the same social or economic status (Wordnet). In
contemporary American society, social class is based on the amount of money and property you have
and also prestige. Prestige is given to a person through the line of work or the family that they come
from. For example, upper upper class member Jennifer Lopez reeks of prestige not only because she
has millions of dollars in her bank account, but she has very expensive luxuries, cars, and houses.
There are four categories of class in contemporary American society: upper, middle, working and
lower. Of these four categories of classes, two are subdivide. These two are: upper class and the
middle class. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of this group, about 1/3rd belongs to the upper middle class. The annual income of person belonging
to this group is $70 $75,000. The jobs that the typical upper middle class person holds would have a
prestige rating of 65 or higher. 2/3rd?s of the middle class population is the lower middle class. White
collared individuals make up the majority of this class, earning anywhere from $30,000 to $60,000 a
year. Lower middle class Americans have a set standard of priorities. They take pride in the fact that
they are financially stable, and promote hard work, and press on education. Without education, the
members feel that they would not be where they are economically, and preach the importance to their
children so that they, too, can live a lifestyle very similar to that of theirs (Norton).
Working class, mostly blue collar, makes up 20% of the American population. The average annual
income is from poverty level up to $45,000. Members of this group have little to no prestige. This is
partially due to the fact that their income is solely income; they do not have investments. Education
was not always highly preached, but sports for boys were and still are. It is seen as a form of ?moving
up? for their sons (Norton).
Among all the classes, education level, wealth, income and occupation decide which class a person
belongs to (W.W. Norton, Co.). To obtain wealth, income

Cultural Conflicts That Influenced His Moral Compass And...
In the story Bless Me, Ultima, Antonio faced several cultural conflicts that influenced his moral
compass and cultural identity. First, he faced a cultural conflict between his mother and father s
aspirations regarding his destiny. His mother wanted Antonio to pursue a future life as a priest, while
his father wanted Antonio to be a cowboy. Similarly, I grappled with the same battle as a child. My
mother wanted me to pursue medicine, while my father wanted me to become an engineer and follow
their footsteps. Just like Antonio had learned from Ultima, this was an element I had to decide for
myself. I found out from life experiences that my passion for science, the human body, and the desire
to prolong and save people s lives, ultimately made my decision to pursue medicine.
Another cultural conflict he faced was between his Spanish speaking self and his English speaking
schoolmates. Throughout his life, he had followed the Spanish culture of his family, who mainly spoke
Spanish in their home. His first day of school, he noticed that his English speaking schoolmates were
less accepting of his culture when he spoke Spanish in front of the class and unpacked his lunch filled
with Hispanic food, which differed from the sandwiches his schoolmates brought for lunch. I shared
the same prejudice as Antonio when I initially came to Los Angeles from the Philippines. My first day
as a third grader, I was humiliated by my schoolmates because I spoke little English with a

Drama And Themes Of Drama
DRAMAAND THEMES
Drama by definition is a play, movie, television show, or radio show that is about a serious subject and
is not meant to make the audience laugh (Webster). Race, social class, and gender very often are major
story lines for films in the category of drama. A drama can be based on several aspects, including but
not limited to reality and novels and cross over into several other genres of movies. Very often, we see
drama crossed with comedy, action, romance, etc., in turn making it the most common genre of
movies (Dirks, 2015). Drama focuses on realistic characters with a realistic story line, high intensity
special effects are not usually prevalent in dramas. The Help, A Christmas Carol, Mr. Mom, are the
dramas chosen that I feel depict race, social class, and gender representation each at a very different
level, based on the time period implied in the movie.
COMMONALITIES AND CHOSEN ISSUES
If I am going to see a movie based on a novel I have read, for example, The Help, I have a
preconceived notion of what this movie is going to be about and expectations based on the previews
prior to entering the movie theater. An additional spin on this movie, which often makes the actors and
directors work more difficult, the book became popular prior to the movie being created. Very often
when books are in place prior to the movie, readers have visualizations of what the characters look
like, how they will sound, etc. The Help is categorized as a drama, and

prescription drug abuse
Prescription Drug Abuse
Millions of people throughout the world are taking drugs on a daily basis. If you were to ask someone
why they take prescription drugs, most people would be taking them for the right reason. However, it s
estimated that twenty percent of people in the United States alone have used prescription drugs for
non medical reasons.1 Prescription drug abuse is a serious and growing problem that often goes
unnoticed. Abusing these drugs can often lead to addiction and even death. You can develop an
addiction to certain drugs that may include: narcotic painkillers, sedatives, tranquilizers, and
stimulants.1 Prescription drugs are the most common abused category of drugs, right next to
marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, some people mix alcohol and Valium, both of which can slow breathing. The
combination of the two could stop breathing altogether.4 Cough and cold medications are some of the
most commonly abused over the counter medications. They contain an ingredient called
dextromethorphan. However, to get to the high craved by people who use drugs, large quantities are
needed. At high doses, dextromethorphan causes side effects similar to those of the drugs Ketamine,
or PCP, by affecting similar sites to the brain. Ketamine and PCP are considered dissociative drugs,
which make people feel disconnected from their normal selves. When taken as directed, over the
counter drugs are safe and effective, but high doses can cause problems. It s always important to read
the bottle labels and take over the counter medications only as directed.4
Not all prescription drugs have the potential for abuse and addiction. Many drugs don t even act in the
brain. For example, antibiotics are not addictive. On the rare occasion people who take drugs for
medical conditions may become addicted. This is why it is extremely important to be under a doctor s
care while taking prescription medication.4 Most prescription drugs are taken in a form that gets to the
brain slowly at a dose that treats a problem, but doesn t overwhelm the system. Both of which reduce
the likelihood of an addiction. Long term medical use of prescription drugs can

Sherman Alexie s Flight Essay
Fiction plays the important role of illustrating different perspectives to the masses. Sometimes,
novelists craft characters to represent their audiences desire for a new point of view; something a half
Native American foster child, called Zits, desperately needs in his life. In his novel, Flight, Sherman
Alexie transports Zits into minds across time to show the struggle between Native Americans and
Colonial Americans.
Setting in Flight changes rapidly as only a few chapters are dedicated to each piece of history. Zits
first travels to 1970 s which is revealed as he recalls a documentary pertaining to that period. Man,
when was that, back in 1975 or 1976? which is answered with This is 1975, and you and me we are
the FBI. to which Zits realizes Hell is Red River, Idaho, in 1975 which is an example of metaphor

respect you for that, okay? I love you for it. But if you screw this up, I m going to shoot you in the
face. Alexie (48) has Art use colloquialisms such as man and okay to show his casual relationship with
Hank. Art s character is also shown as he is shown to be able to profess his fondness for his partner,
and indirectly threaten to murder him in the same exchange. Later in the novel, when Zits is reliving
the memory of two pilots an exchange with similar diction, but contrasting voice transpires: What
would you have done if I wrecked your plane? I would have killed you. (129). The relationships of the
FBI agents and pilots are not different on the surface both regard each other as their best friends but
Art can credibly threaten Hank with murder, while it is so outside the realm of impossibility for

  • 2. Drafting Note For Recitals ( A ) Drafting Note to RECITALS (a) Confidentiality agreements typically do not describe the contemplated transaction in detail to avoid the implication that the parties have come to any agreement on the terms of the transaction. Nonetheless, the definition of Transaction should be drafted carefully to prevent potential misuse by the Receiving Party of the Disclosing Party s information. For instance, the Receiving Party may abandon negotiations and launch a hostile bid for the Disclosing Party using the Disclosing Party s information in formulating the bid. This form defines Transaction as a negotiated transaction, and thus the use by the Receiving Party of the Disclosing Party s information to launch a hostile bid would be a breach of ... It also permits each party to disclose the other party s Proprietary Information to its Representatives who need to know such information in order to advise such party in doing the deal. Each party will want to ensure that the other party s Representatives are also bound not to disclose the Proprietary Information. • 3. The Challenges Of Global Logistics On Amazon s global site, people from around the world can purchase items, from clothes to toys to food and have them shipped directly to their front door. While this can seem to be a great opportunity, shipping logistics can be a nightmare for Amazon and take extensive amounts of time for the buyer. One student, Xiao Bixue, from Beijing, China explained that the quality of goods from Amazon are good, but the tariffs are expensive and shipping takes time (Bixue and Xinling). With the differences in cultures and distance to consider, how can Amazon expect to compete globally? The Challenges to global logistics There are many challenges to Amazon when considering global logistics. Some processes must be done through the U.S. Amazon website. Shipping costs can be high. And, because Amazon is shipping products greater distances, time plays a large factor in receiving and returning products. How to deal with these issues can be quite complex. Differences in expectations, such as quality and price, should also be a consideration. Due to the variety of culture, how the customer should be treated can differ as well. Because most product descriptions and comments are written in English, non English speaking people have a difficult time purchasing on Amazon s Global store. Only general descriptions are translated and some translations can be confusing or completely wrong. Because Amazon has global customers, they also have a wide variety of expectations from these customers. Areas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Culture Industry And Commodification By making itself more vulnerable to social and economic relationships, authenticity has turned itself into a commodity. Something becomes a commodity when its social character is denied and is abstracted to be exchangeable in the marketplace.24 The true concern of the mind is to avoid this process of reification; if this fails to happens thought turns into a cultural asset and is simply used to be consumed and used by the power structure.25 While The authentics despise the superficial and vapid pseudoindividuality of the inauthentic individuals they simply fail to properly critique it. Authenticity becomes another form of bourgeois thought. It represents the increased specialization that stems from the division of labour rather than disruption. It is one of the many specialized forms of thought that distracts people instead of having them question abstraction in the first place. It is even worse than other aspects of bourgeois thought; the other disciplines do not proclaim to be solving the alienation that they have caused. The contempt of the culture industry and commodification has itself been commodified in a series catch words. The buzz words used by the authentics become no different than the words of advertising.26 This jargon of authenticity has a certain rare pathos that allows for a higher exchange value on the marketplace.27 There are various examples of authenticity s marketability. brand authenticity is defined as maintaining brand standards and style, ... • 5. The Gun Show Loophole Since the Brady Act was introduced in 1998, we know that there have been approximately two hundred and thirty million background screenings done to date. However, imagine how many more could have been completed if the right laws were in place for unlicensed dealers. The laws that are in place today are lacking at best, therefore a major issue with purchasing these firearms happen at gun shows, which is also known as the gun show loophole. In an article, written by Mark Duggan of the MIT Press, states that THOUSANDS of gun shows take place in the United States each year. Gun control advocates argue that the gun show loophole makes it easier for potential criminals to obtain a gun; the loophole basically allows unlicensed vendors at gun shows to sell firearms without conducting background checks on purchasers. (Duggan) A twenty one year old cannot even walk into a bar or a liquor store and purchase alcohol without the proper identification, nevertheless someone with a known criminal background or a person with a history of mental illness can walk straight into a gun show and purchase deadly weapons without even flashing an identification card, but per our government laws, that s completely legal. Gun lobbyist continue to stand by their gun shows though, they cite a U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics survey that found that 0.7% of state prison inmates that have ever owned a gun reported that they obtained it at a gun show. • 6. Dental Problems Of The Dentist If you are diagnosed with any type of Head and Neck cancer, the last person you would think about visiting is your dentist. Most patients are surprised when told that they will have to see a dentist before any cancer treatments can be started. The dentist plays an important role in preventing serious mouth problems before and after your radiation treatments and also helps you maintain good oral health during and after your treatments. Dental problems such as gum disease, cavities, and poorly fitting dentures can get worse during treatments. This will be crucial not only for esthetic purposes but for functionality of your mouth as well. Head and neck cancer accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the United States. It is estimated that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The studies found that poor condition of the mouth, poor fitting dentures, and missing teeth were in fact among the causes of oral cancer. There are different treatments for head and neck cancers. Radiation and surgery are major curative modalities with adjuvant chemotherapy for advanced stages. Radiation therapy is indicated in the majority of head and neck cancers because of where the tumors are located in this region and are often inaccessible for surgery. Radiation therapy is the use of high energy x rays or other particles to destroy cancer cells. The radiation may be delivered by a machine outside the body called external beam radiation therapy, or it may come from radioactive material that is placed in the body near the cancer cells, that is called internal radiation therapy, or brachytherapy. Radiation kills cancer cells by damaging their DNA. DNA that is damaged beyond repair stop dividing or die off. Once the damaged cells die, they are broken down and the body eliminates them by the body s natural processes. Radiation can damage normal cells as well. All the doctors involved in creating a treatment plan for the patient, take potential damage to normal cells into account when planning a course of radiation therapy. It will involve relevant theories to support my following reflective essay, including research on document design and group dynamics. The rationale of our Manaakitanga newsletter is for all members across the twenty one branches of Hospitality New Zealand, informing them about new topics, and sharing the most recent and latest news within Hospitality NZ (New Zealand) for the employees to read. Manaakitanga is an internal newsletter for employees, sharing the changes, achievements, the news and events that have a broader appeal, keeping the interest alive for the readers (Kent, 2011). First of all the content of Manaakitanga involves an interview, Early morning starts on a winning streak , secondly an article on What is coming up in the summer months , thirdly a spotlight story on one of Christchurch s most popular restaurants, and last of all a story on New Zealand s drinking culture and a calendar of events highlighting important up coming courses and events for employees to attend to. The interview featured on page four of Manaakitanga is significant to Hospitality NZ because as we know the Rugby World Cup is occurring at the moment and The Sale and Supply of Alcohol Amendment Act 2015 are allowing on license and club license holders to open outside of their normal opening hours to screen live Rugby World Cup games. The type of hostage for this case was a barricade siege situation which means that the police officers knew the exact location of where he was keeping the hostages. Man Haron Monis did have a logistical but not negotiated success in his operation. What does having success in a hostage situation mean? According to Scott and Sandler ( (1987) , logistical success is whether the mission went to plan, for example, did the hostage takers board the plane, or did they manage to capture the embassy hostages (Wilson 2015)? • 9. Parker s Back by Flannery O Connor To the uninitiated, the significance of Flannery O Connor s Parker s Back can seem at once cold and dispassionate, as well as almost absurdly stark and violent. Her short stories routinely end in horrendous, freak fatalities or, at the very least, a character s emotional devastation. Flannery O Connor is a Christian writer, and her work is message oriented, yet she is far too brilliant a stylist to tip her hand; like all good writers, crass didacticism is abhorrent to her. Unlike some more cryptic writers, O Connor was happy to discuss the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of her stories, and this candor is a godsend for the researcher that seeks to know what makes the writer tick. Flannery O Connor put much conscious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For me, the most chilling aspect of the story is the description of a prophetic water stain above Asbury s bed: Thematic Elements This concept of displacement runs throughout O Connor s work, and it is essentially a displacement from the world of the one true God, a theological displacement, although within the context of the story it is more social, based on the nature of the freak s position in the society. Very often, the grotesque elements of O Connor s stories are balanced out by anagogical ones. Again, the latter are not specifically symbols, for symbols work contextually to represent interactive story elements, whereas O Connor s anagogical elements are just there, they wander in and out of the action; they may have symbolic significance, but it never comes directly into play as a plot element. Facing death is another thematic element that recurs often in O Connor, for obvious reasons, both personal and religious. 23 O Connor admits as much herself, in an essay in which she discusses A Good Man is Hard to Find : The heroine of the story, the Grandmother, is in the most significant position life offers the Christian. She is facing death. 24 This last quote speaks volumes; it is probably the single most significant and telling remark the student of Flannery O Connor can have in his attempt to understand her work. Clearly facing death as a Christian was the motivational engine that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Pope goes on to explain how our current model of consumption and production has led to a decline in the quality of human life, and water. Many people in power offer weak solutions to the problems at hand and do not do much to remedy them. Since economic interests often supersede the interests of the rest of the population, significant progress is not being made in many areas. When one looks at the current state of the world, it is very clear that private interests are doing their job very well, however the governments of the world are not doing their jobs of protecting the people. It is important to call out those who are not doing their jobs well. Most governments have the power to suppress economic interests that are damaging the environment, however they often fail to because these governments are filled with dishonest and greedy politicians. When one looks deeper, one can see that the fault of global warming does not lie with private interests, but with government, which is failing to do its job. In the letter, the Pope mentions how everything is connected, and how ethical deterioration is leading to environmental deterioration. One solution that the Pope could have proposed is that people should honestly analyze the politicians that they are putting into power, and seek to educate themselves and the rest of the public, to make informed decisions when it comes to putting people in power. Too often people vote without enough education on the subject, and thus they are susceptible to the influence of those who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Black Spider Monkey Research Paper Ateles paniscus A.K.A Black Spider Monkey According to Primate Info Net, there are seven species of spider monkeys recognized with the Black Spider Monkey included. The Black Spider Monkey is the largest of them all. These adorable monkeys have long, shiny black hair covering their bodies, except for the face, which is red or pink. One thing that makes these monkeys stand out against other monkeys is their long, prehensile (defined as capable of grasping ) tails. With this fifth limb, they have more stability when resting in trees and grasping branches. For extra ease in swinging through the trees, they have an extra mobile shoulder joint. These monkeys are large, but with a slender frame, a pot belly and spidery limbs (which is where their name comes from). • 14. The Science Fiction Story, A Reporter Anthony Ha ESS 102 Research Paper In the science fiction story, a reporter goes to board the first public flight to Mars. He writes about what he experiences such as the feeling of being the first passengers to Mars, seeing the technologies that recycle water, eating fresh produce in space, and the final landing on Mars a year later and watching the rovers that landed before him moving about. Many problems of space travel stem from the fact that supplies are limited in space. A trip to Mars with current technologies would take eight months to travel to Mars and that is just robotic missions (NASA 2012a). This presents an obvious problem that a space flight can only carry a limited amount of food, water, and air. Any system also needs to be powered by electricity. Current food technology consists of prepackaged food. There are a couple problems that space food has to be able to solve. One problem is that space food has to not just float around and get into vents, crevices, and machinery. This is a hazard that scientists have to keep in mind when making food. Also, it should be long lasting enough to last in space until a resupply. The food the astronauts eat in the International Space Station right now are all packaged food sent up from earth. There is freeze dried food which is cooked before being flash frozen and vacuumed. This is then rehydrated with water when astronauts want to eat. There are wetpacks, which are food pouches that don t need to be rehydrated like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Be it living in low poverty areas and having to quit school to work and help the family out. Struggling with learning disabilities and being in special education or even rebelliousness and pregnancy. Typically, when a teen gets pregnant in high school they drop out. This is either due to having to get a job and support her now new family or even the embarrassment of her situation. In the south, particularly many teens are made to marry at young ages due to pregnancy and forced to grow up. This situation is avoidable if parents would push their children to finish their high school education and recognize how important receiving their diploma is. I am hopeful as we enter a new time that the dropout rates in these southern states will become less and less. That we can break the cycle on families having to depend of the government for different programs to survive, so that we can begin to pour money into the school system to help the teens with learning disabilities make it through school. • 19. Era of Heroes in the Golden Age of Sports The 1920 s was an era of role models and great heroes. This period was known as The Golden Age of sports. This was a time where Americans wanted to put the memory of the World War I in the past and appreciate life. It began with the Black Sox scandal of 1919 continuing with historic record breaking athletes. The introduction of radio made is easier for fans to follow their favorite teams. The economy of the United States was strong for most of the time. New and bigger stadiums were built and for the first time Americans began to pay money to watch such high level of competition. This is a decade to be remembered. Sports are very vital. They offer a lifestyle, an occupation, and even a dream. Sports require physical activity and skill in which a team or an individual compete against others for entertainment. As David G. McComb comments in Sports in World History , there is a high degree of training, investment, and coaching, along with spectators, rules, publicity, and institutional control that come along with these activities. While participating in sports, it is required to be able to undertake a difficult situation and perform the best out of it. Sports are definitely more than just a game. • 20. Themes In The Great Gatsby Time. It affects all of what we know and are. Living in the past can affect your present, and living in the future can affect your present. We see that as we read both The Great Gatsby and The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock . Three common themes arise in both of these literatures. Those themes are: mortality, memories/the past, and isolation. When we realize that we are not immortal, we then tend to focus on our past or our memories we have made because those are what we lived for because we don t want to be isolated when we are older. They may not seem like they are connected, but all three of these very much so affect one s life and how they live it. That is shown throughout the characters narrated. In The Great Gatsby , some of the characters know that they are past their prime. They don t need to be the center of attention or anything like that because they understand that it isn t their time to shine anymore. That s shown in this example: I belong to another generation... As for me, I am fifty years old, and I won t impose myself on you any longer. They have accepted that they are not it anymore. Even though the theme is common between both passages, it means something different in The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock . The meaning is different here because the author knew he was past his prime and all that he had done means nothing now. He doesn t care about the big, glamorous things anymore but moreso the simplistic things in life. Like whether to roll his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While the consequences of colonialism vary throughout geographical regions and colonizers value systems, the social constructs that were imposed upon the native people are quite similar. In particular, the effects of racial classification continue to have internal and external consequences in a post colonial world. The narrator, who is a friend to Nasar s murderers, attempts to point out all of Nasar s differences to the Colombian people. Santiago Nasar has a Colombian mother and Arabic father with whom he feels a stronger connection because they speak Arabic, but never around Nasar s mother (Márquez 3). The fact that he must contain his own identity because of his Colombian mother portrays the discomfort held by Colombians towards the foreigners. His foreignness contributes to the accusation made towards him which eventually led to his murder. The author hints that Angela Vicario is lying when she is interrogated by her brothers for the name of the one who took her virginity, because she looked for it in the shadows and found it at first sight among the many, many easily confused names from this world and the other (25). She looks for a name from the dead and the living because she knows the grave fate that would follow her decision. Angela seemed to feel compelled to choose his name because she either believes that he did not deserve life or that his life would not be considered valuable. Only his other Colombian friends of Arab descent actually warn him of the murder threat and none of the other citizens of the town are able to reach out to him before it is too late. Instead it presents a myriad of situations and emotions, which make it one of the most important symbols in The Scarlet Letter. However, there is a twist. It doesn t just symbolize one thing, but two that are distinctly contrary to one another. The forest can be a place of true nature where a person is shown as who they are supposed to be, not who other people make them out to be. The forest can also be a place of uncovering the sin that lies beneath everyone s mind. These purposes have one thing in common: the revelation of truths. To the characters, the forest can be a place of solitude and separation that dismantles all of the strict and artificial laws of man. More and more, they are literally becoming partners in crime, realizing they have more to gain from cooperating than competing. Many problems are caused by organized crime every day. Criminal organizations are really sophisticated and manipulative. They are constantly examined by law enforcement officials which forces them to be furtive, secretive, and cautious. One major problem that we have is the victims that are or have been a target for the organized crime activities. Crimes include; drug trafficking, gambling, prostitution, and more. Crimes such as these involve individuals who are buyers and seller who are labeled as a willing participant. Communities that are faced with this problem are labeled as the victim because of how organized criminals make their money. The community takes a hit especially when crimes involve, violence, swindling, or thievery. According to Lyman amp; Potter (2007), Clearly, criminal associates are often victimized by organized crime members, but law abiding citizens are also victimized in a number of ways. First, citizens are sometimes the direct victims of organized crime enterprises (violence, extortion, intimidation, etc.). Second, billions of dollars of tax revenue from organized crime go uncollected (estimated at $37 billion in lost taxes every year), resulting in higher tax rates for law abiding citizens. Third, expenses related to law enforcement, criminal prosecution, and imprisonment of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Ap Biology Lab Answers 1. Both answers are correct. There are two different models for substrate binding: lock and key or induced fit. In the lock and key model, the active site of unbound enzymes fits perfectly with the complementary shape of its substrate. In the induced fit model, the enzyme changes shape to confirm to the substrate after binding. 2. If Keq = 1, what is the ∆Go´? 0 If Keq 1, what is the ∆Go´? Negative Exergonic If Keq 1, what is the ∆Go´? Positive Endergonic 3. How is free energy useful for understanding enzyme function? Free energy is useful for understanding enzyme function because it is required to initiate the conversion of the reaction to product. While enzymes do not change the equilibrium of the reaction or the energy difference between the product and reactant, they do, however, decrease the activation energy and facilitate the formation of the transition state, speeding up the reaction. 4. What are transition state analogs? Transition state analogs are irreversible enzyme inhibitors that imitate the transition state but bind firmly to the active site of enzymes. Transition state analogs also include a class of irreversible inhibitors called suicide inhibitors in which the substrate binds to the active site of the enzyme, attacking and killing the enzyme. 5. How do enzymes facilitate the formation of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Describe the difference between the concerted and the sequential model of allosteric regulation. The concerted model of allosteric regulation entails that all subunits be in an identical state. This model presupposes that allosteric enzymes have multiple active sites on different polypeptide chains and that enzymes are able to exist in an active relaxed and an inactive tense state. Once the substrate binds to the first subunit, all the other effector molecules bound to it instantly assume that state. The sequential model of allosteric regulation assumes each subunit is individually stabilized into the R state by the binding of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First, he faced a cultural conflict between his mother and father s aspirations regarding his destiny. His mother wanted Antonio to pursue a future life as a priest, while his father wanted Antonio to be a cowboy. Similarly, I grappled with the same battle as a child. My mother wanted me to pursue medicine, while my father wanted me to become an engineer and follow their footsteps. Just like Antonio had learned from Ultima, this was an element I had to decide for myself. I found out from life experiences that my passion for science, the human body, and the desire to prolong and save people s lives, ultimately made my decision to pursue medicine. Another cultural conflict he faced was between his Spanish speaking self and his English speaking schoolmates. Throughout his life, he had followed the Spanish culture of his family, who mainly spoke Spanish in their home. His first day of school, he noticed that his English speaking schoolmates were less accepting of his culture when he spoke Spanish in front of the class and unpacked his lunch filled with Hispanic food, which differed from the sandwiches his schoolmates brought for lunch. I shared the same prejudice as Antonio when I initially came to Los Angeles from the Philippines. • 47. Drama And Themes Of Drama DRAMAAND THEMES Drama by definition is a play, movie, television show, or radio show that is about a serious subject and is not meant to make the audience laugh (Webster). Race, social class, and gender very often are major story lines for films in the category of drama. A drama can be based on several aspects, including but not limited to reality and novels and cross over into several other genres of movies. Very often, we see drama crossed with comedy, action, romance, etc., in turn making it the most common genre of movies (Dirks, 2015). Drama focuses on realistic characters with a realistic story line, high intensity special effects are not usually prevalent in dramas. The Help, A Christmas Carol, Mr. Mom, are the dramas chosen that I feel depict race, social class, and gender representation each at a very different level, based on the time period implied in the movie. COMMONALITIES AND CHOSEN ISSUES If I am going to see a movie based on a novel I have read, for example, The Help, I have a preconceived notion of what this movie is going to be about and expectations based on the previews prior to entering the movie theater. An additional spin on this movie, which often makes the actors and directors work more difficult, the book became popular prior to the movie being created. Very often when books are in place prior to the movie, readers have visualizations of what the characters look like, how they will sound, etc. The Help is categorized as a drama, and ...
