This document discusses selecting and evaluating materials for English language teaching. It outlines three main areas for selecting texts: 1) type of course, 2) type of students, and 3) other text-related factors. It also describes three methods for evaluating materials: 1) a quick book evaluation, 2) a detailed book evaluation, and 3) evaluating a single piece of material. Each method of evaluation has its own criteria. Selecting texts and evaluating materials are important but distinct processes that require considering the appropriate criteria for the given students and course.
There are the principles and procedures of material development by Brian Tomlinson and many researchers. The PPT explains about how to make materials for material development, or we called teacher. So, teacher should fulfill these procedures and principles when teach students.

the L2 reading difficulties and noted the similarities in the descriptions of unsuccessful reading behaviors:
“reading in the L2 seems to mean almost invariably a slow and laborious decoding process, which often results in poor comprehension and low self-esteem.”
Materials development stands as a crucial domain within ELT (English Language Teaching). For individuals aspiring to enhance and advance their English skills, the utilization of appropriate materials becomes imperative. Enclosed is a PowerPoint (PPT) file, the culmination of my comprehensive research on this subject, offering a historical overview of Materials development to aid your learning journey.

Literary texts provide chance to come across different type of emotions, expressions and sentence structures. Literary language enables learners to differentiate between formal and informal language. Literary text can be taught through audios or by showing movies based on literary work with English subtitles which not only will improve their pronunciation and but also will help to improve their listening for English language. Reading literary text during language learning builds a rich vocabulary for a new learner.Learning language through literature also help the learner to know other cultures very closely, because literature of different languages provide with the platform of various cultural values, rules and regulations, and prepare the mind of readers to accept the differences between cultures and respect the values of others. This research will help the teachers and students as well which would be mainly focused over the students of English department only. This is an objective research a survey among the students would be done by the researcher itself, in which short text of different genres of literature would be given to be taught during language learning classes. The data of the research would be calculated by SPSS. This paper investigated students’ attitudes and motivation towards learning literature in English in three government secondary schools in Zanzibar (one in urban and two in rural areas). The study had a sample of 96 people; 45 boys, 45 girls, and 6 teachers who were teaching literature in English at the selected schools. They were selected through purposive sampling technique. Mixed method was used. Data were collected through interview, observation, and questionnaires. Predictable variables were number of teachers teaching the subject and their qualifications, learning environment, teaching and learning materials, and students’ attitudes and motivation towards learning the subject. Findings revealed that there was shortage of teachers teaching the subject, and some of them were not trained. Students had positive attitudes and motivation towards learning the subject because it was a source of information not only from their own society but also from the world at large. Additionally, literature in English was found a means of entertainment as well as educating the students. However, students’ positive attitudes and motivation towards learning the subject were hindered by unfavourable conditions such as shortage of literature books, difficult English vocabularies, large class sizes, limited time to read suggested literature books, poor teaching methods, and teachers themselves. As a result the study suggests the provision of appropriate and adequate reading materials to all secondary schools, expose teachers to more training so as to be more knowledgeable about various suitable methods of teaching the subject, and improve classroom learning environment.
Primary school students rely heavily on textbooks for instruction. Using the variety of textbooks, a description of the theme textbooks’ linguistic quality is conspicuously absent, particularly for students in the fifth grade. Language fit for students’ growth, communicative language, and coherence and cohesiveness were all included in this study’s analysis of textbooks’ language quality. Qualitative content analysis was used in this study's methodology. All texts from the heat and transfer-themed of fifth-grade textbooks published by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, Yudhistira, and Erlangga publishers were included in the study. Documentation was utilized to collect the data. Sample, record, reduce, infer, and narrate were all data analysis approaches used. The findings of this research indicated that the three publishers’ textbooks had excellent language quality in terms of language compatibility for students’ growth and the communicative language issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture and Erlangga was wonderful, but Yudhistira was awful. There were a lot of solid points made in the Ministry of Education and Culture’s publications. Both Yudhistira and Erlangga performed admirably. The quality of textbook language was found to be satisfactory in this study.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

10. C. CONCLUSION
There are many criteria of selecting and evaluating
texts. Both text selection and evaluation are absolutely
different. They have their own criteria. The most important
thing from this session that has to be noted down is on how
we are able to list the criteria which we are think are
important in terms of the group of students that we will be
teaching.
