Importance Of Multiculturalism In Australia
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has stated that Australia is the world s most successful multicultural
nation . All the people know Australia is a multicultural state which is a civilization of populace from
a wealthy variety of artistic, racial, linguistic. The multiculturalism describes the difference of culture
and race in modern Australia. This difference is trying to safeguard the benefit of every Australian and
national interest. Cultural variety is significant since our state, workplaces, and school are comprised
of a variety of artistic, ethnic, and racial clusters. We can gain knowledge of it from one another.
Everyone has their rights to express and share their culture heritage including language and religion.
All of us have to establish a stage of accepting about each other. Everyone needs to respect each other
whatever by different culture and religion, this is the meaning of freedom. Freedom is not likely to get
rid of limitation or do what you want to do. It is a standard that everyone can understand the
differences brought about by different cultures.
Firstly, the existence of multiculturalism must lead to some differences. But to be respected and
enhance the freedom of others can reduce conflict of culture. Sometimes, religion faith can decide
lifestyle and ideology of others. Every religion has their faith and rites. Based on the Australia bureau
of statistics survey (2011), there were above five hundred diverse tribe group or nation around the
state,

The Impact Of Television On The Television Industry Essay
Whilst much of television s history has relied on specific industrial practices established early in the
1960s, the turn of the century has introduced significant changes to the medium of television. The
current position of television, defined by Lotz as the post network era, illustrates an evolution from
these early industry practices. For the most part, scholars agree that this transition was caused by
changes in the industrial norms of producing, financing, and distributing television, many of which
can be attributed to the arrival of digital technologies. This essay will argue that these changes
throughout the television industry have created a new, distinctive era of television culture.
First and foremost, Lotz provides valuable insight into the distinguishable eras of television
development. The resulting three eras are defined as the network era, multi channel transition and post
network era (7). The network era , which spanned roughly from the early 1950s to the mid 1980s,
governed industry operations and created a television experience which characterizes much of the
medium s history. This era was characterized by adapting radio network modes of content creation,
distribution, advertising, and audience measurement to the context of the then new televisual medium.
Dominated by a three network oligopoly network system comprised of ABC, NBC and CBS critics
have often condemned the network era as bland due to its strict censorship and limited creative

The Impacts Of The 18th And 18th Amendments
The Eighteenth and Nineteenth Amendments The Eighteenth Amendment states that, one year after
the states ratified the article, the making, selling, and importing or exporting of alcohol is illegal
unless for medicinal or religious reasons. Congress can pass any laws it finds necessary to uphold the
Eighteenth Amendment. If ¾ of the states did not ratify the article within seven years, then the article
would not take effect. (18th Amendment)
One impact of the Eighteenth Amendment was the end, in theory, of the sale and consumption of
alcohol. America had just returned from World War I when Prohibition was started. The men had
gotten addicted to morphine and heroine and could no longer buy those drugs so they bought the
cheapest thing they could find alcohol. This started a wave of drunkenness across the country and the
women were not happy. The women had taken men s place in the workforce while they were gone
and, when the men came back, they lost all their jobs to the men. But, the men were not working.
Instead, they were getting drunk all day, trying to forget what they saw at war. This angered women
greatly. Because the women had gained power from working the men s jobs during the war, the
women used their power to promote Prohibition across the country.
Another impact of the Eighteenth Amendment is the rise of organized crime. It is the law of supply
and demand. When the supply of a product, alcohol, goes down, the demand for it goes up. Crime
lords

What Is The Moralized Bible
I will talk about the Moralized Bible and how its illumination was used to convey complex theological
idea. Any people any randomly selected scriptures were selected and matched with allegories that
spread in the society for lots of years or the moral explanations that taught by the religious book. Such
as Christian bible which is all written by the people. It used vocabulary and images to express its
meaning, which is in the stacked medal and The design is also similar to stained glass. Every single
page has two vertical lines of painted scenes. And it all filled out with the mosaic repeating patterns.
Adjacent to each medallion is a text excerpt, a summary of a passage of the passage or a concise
contemporary interpretation or a fable.

The Paranomia Of A Heartbeat In The Tell-Tale Heart By...
The Paranomia of a Heartbeat In the story The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, many different
elements throughout the story symbolize different ideas. Throughout the story, the narrator is shown to
be paranoid and insane. The heartbeat that the narrator continued to hear throughout different times
drove him to the point that he eventually confessed to what he had done and turned himself in. The
heartbeat has such a major effect on the narrator it shows the real person that he is. The beating of the
narrator s heart in the story The Tell Tale Heart symbolizes the narrator s paranomia and his insanity.
During the eighth night while the narrator is watching the old man s eye, he hears a loud thumping
sound and believes it is the old man s heart beating very loudly. It turns out that the loud thumping
sound is actually his own heartbeat, but he never seems to realize that it is. It is beating so loud
because the narrator is so paranoid that the neighbors would hear the beating and would be suspicious.

They are sitting in the room right above where the narrator has just put the old man s body and are
having regular conversation. He begins to heart the old man s heartbeat and starts to believe the police
will soon start noticing too. He becomes very scared, paranoid, and he realizes what he has done. He
confesses to the police that he has killed the old man. In the story, it states Villains! I shrieked,
dissemble no more! I admit the deed! tear up the planks! here, here! It is the beating of his hideous
heart (Poe 18). The heartbeat that he heard was actually his and it drove him to the point of insanity
and he realizes just what he has done. The beating of the heart symbolizes the insanity of the narrator
and makes him realize what he has done and makes him confess. The heartbeat throughout the story

Night, Schindler s List, and The Diary of Anne Frank
The Holocaust was the most horrific time that man has known. To survive this atrocity, the Holocaust
victims man upon man atrocity, one had to summon bravery, strength, courage, and wisdom that many
did not know they possessed. One survivor is Elie Wiesel, whose exquisite writings have revealed the
world of horror suffered by the Jewish people. Elie Wiesel s statement, ...to remain silent and
indifferent is the greatest sin of all... stands as a succinct summary of his views on life and serves as
the driving force of his work. Elie Wiesel was born as Eliezer, a free Jewish male, on September 30,

They were made to dig huge graves. And when they had finished their work, the Gestapo began theirs.
Without passion, without haste, they slaughtered their prisoners. Each one had to go up to the hole and
present his neck. Babies were thrown into the air and the machine gunners used them as targets. This
was in the forest of Galicia, near Kolomaye. How had Moche the Beadle escaped? Miraculously. He
was wounded in the leg and taken for dead. ...
Throughout Europe, similar horrific tales of slaughter and abuse began to surface as Adolf Hitler
became more successful and aggressive in his quest to create a purely Aryan nation. Another,
considerably more violent phase of anti Jewish activity took place in 1938 and 1939; it was initiated
on November 9 10, 1938, the infamous Kristallnacht, or night of shattered glass. Passports were still
being issued for Jews to travel to Palestine; however, many elders refused to leave. The task of starting
over in a foreign land proved to be overwhelming, and no one believed these conditions would
intensify nor continue.
As long as the Jews did not cause trouble, they were left to manage themselves with minimal daily
interference from the soldiers. As the war in the outside world escalated, their world started to
disintegrate. The soldiers moved them every couple of weeks to a new location, leaving behind
personal belongings, and suffering through humiliating personal searches.

Robert Frost Poetry Analysis
This poem was written by Robert Frost in 1923, in New Hampshire. He wrote it for political reasons
because he was mourning the end of the world. It does not appear as it was origianally written. It was
not part of a series or collection. It also does not belong to any particular movement.
This poem was not written about any person or national hero. It is not a lyric, or a haiku. It is,
however, a conffesional poem, as it speaks of his opinion of the polotics of that time.
Yes, because, the title is obvious as it describes the main topic of the poem. No, there is really only
one set meaning to the poem. There is no balance, as it mainly talks about the end of the world. There
is really no obvious opposite in this poem. Yes, it mentions the garden of Eden in the poem.
The only repitition in the poem, that I could find, was when he mentioned leaves dieing.
This poem suggests the passing of day and the change of the seasons in this poem. The passage of day
is obvious, with no gaps in between
The name Eden has value because Eden was a garden of holy perfection, So Eden sank to grief means
that the world ends.
Yes, at first glance this poem appears to be about nature and the seasons, but if you take into
consideration that he was unhappy with the politics at the time, things begin to make more sense.

and concerned about the current war

How Has Fashion Changed Over Time
Clothing creation methods have changed and evolved over the course of many years, and with these
changes, the clothing, too, changed drastically over the course of time. From the most basic of
clothing to complicated, ever changing fashion, what we wore changed as the methods of creating it
changed.
The middle ages were a time of constant political changes, and struggling to survive. As a result,
fashion for most people (commoners) tended to be a simple tied robe or tunic. This was a result of the
current clothing creation methods. Clothing creation was a long, painstaking process Clothes were self
or family made, and could also be purchased, but you d be lucky to get something that fit well. Only

No longer did people wear what they used to Clothing became increasingly fashionable, personal, and
stylish rather than a bare necessity. Belts, pins, sashes, laces, corsets, gemstones Things were
evolving, things we use to this day were being created thanks to these early fashion connoisseurs. But
when the industrial revolution hit, things headed back to the way they were. Simpler, less unique
clothing for the common man. However, the process of ready making clothing came about. No longer
was a tailor a part of the process for your everyday clothing. You could purchase, at a much cheaper
price than a tailor charged, clothing in one of several sizes.
Clothing stayed ready made for a long time. Tailors, individuals, and family members could still make
more personalized clothing, but the mass produced clothing was the way to go. It was sturdy and not
terrible to look at, so it remained. In the USA, the civil war had gone into full gear. As a result, they
needed clothing (Uniforms) to be produced faster than the current process could allow. So factories
figured out ways to churn out clothing even faster, but at a bigger loss of personalization than ever
before. The closest we came to having our own individual style was choosing what size to

Essay On Antoni Gaudi
Antoni Gaudí, a Catalan architect has become internationally recognized as one of the most prodigious
experts in architecture, as well as the one of the top exponents of modernism.
His exceptional ground breaking genius made him the inventor of a unique and personal architectural
language that defies classification. The work of Gaudí is remarkable for its range of forms, textures,
polychromy and for the free, expressive way in which these elements of his art seem to be composed.
The complex geometries of a Gaudí building so coincide with its architectural structure that the whole,
including its surface, gives the appearance of being a natural object in complete conformity with
nature s laws. Such a sense of total unity also informed the life ... Show more content on

In 2010, the uncompleted church was consecrated as a basilica by Pope Benedict XVI.
The magnificence of Antoni Gaudí s architecture coincided, as the result of a personal decision by the
architect, with a progressive withdrawal by the man himself. Gaudí, who in his youth had frequented
theatres, concerts and tertulias ( social gatherings), went from being a young dandy with gourmet
tastes to neglecting his personal appearance, eating frugally, and distancing himself from social life,
while simultaneously devoting himself even more fervently to a mystical and religious sentiment.
Gaudí died on the 10th of June, 1926, after being knocked down by a tram while making his way, as
he did every evening to the Sagrada Família from the Church of Sant Felip Neri. After the struck, he
lost consciousness, and nobody suspected that this disheveled 74 old man who was not carrying any

The Boat by Alistair Macleod Essay
Tradition Against Freedom
The Boat by Alistair MacLeod is the story told from the perspective of university teacher looking back
on his life. The narrator relates the first memories of his life until his father s death. The story focuses
on the conflicting relation between the mother and the father, and their different perspectives on how
their children should lead their lives. MacLeod uses features of setting to present the tension between
tradition and freedom.
The contrast between the father s room with the rest of the house is the same contrast between the
personalities of both parents. MacLeod describes two of the house s rooms. One is the kitchen, that is

The narrator remembers his father with cracked lips that bled when he smiled... (138), and his arms
with open wounds that never heal. These wounds were inflicted by the salty water of the sea and the
sun. The father s body [has] never been intended for a fisherman... (138), neither was his mind. The
life that the father wanted to live was far from the fisherman s life. The names of the books, magazines
and writers are also mentioned to allude the real father s passion, which is literature.
The seasons are part of the mother s life, while the father goes through life as if all were winter. The
mother runs her house according to the seasons. She grows miraculous gardens and magnificent
flowers... (132), and during berry picking season, She would walk miles... (132). Growing gardens,
flowers and picking berries are seasonal activities. Every flower and fruit has its cycle during the year,
which alludes how the mother lived through this. The importance of the seasons as part of the mother
s life is presented even in the end of the story when the narrator says that the [mother] looks through
her lonely window onto the ice of winter... (140). Therefore, she is alone gazing out the window,
waiting for her death, which is symbolized by the winter. On the other hand, for the father all the
seasons are the same. All of them are winter. The narrator describes his father, with blue eyes flossing

series of questions that I and others could benefit from. Mrs. Beamon took over the Wilson Doughnut

The History Of Animals Being Domesticated
The history of animals being domesticated starts as far back as 20,000 years ago, when large mammals
such as bison roamed the tundra of Europe and Asia. They were hunted widely by two groups of
hunters, both smaller and weaker than the bison, but both had sufficient developed social systems to
allow them to hunt and kill in packs. These two hunters were the humans and the wolves. These two
groups of hunters are surprisingly similar. Both are family based and led by a dominant male whose
female partner has authority second to his. All of the members are friendly towards each other, but
extremely suspicious of outsiders. All members are also protective of any newborn and young in the
pack, and both are good at interpreting the moods of others, by facial expression or other forms of
body language. Though humans and wolves started out competing for the same prey, but soon realized
the advantages for both of them in teaming up. On the side of the wolves, human ingenuity and the use
of weapons mean a share in a greater number of kill, and maybe a taste of bigger pretty they couldn t
take down alone, such as mammoths. On the side of humans, the speed of the wolves and ferocity is
equivalent to a new weapon altogether. The partnership between the two is natural. People love to
nurture an abandoned young animal, and a wolf cub is adapted to learn the rules of a hierarchical
human society. For a species like the wolf to become domesticated, it must be willing to breed in

Every girl growing up always use to play dress up in clothes as a childhood past time for fun. Cindy

Corn Kernels
The phenotypes for the ear of corn observed, consisted of 192 purple kernels and 66 yellow kernels.
When reduced, the actual phenotypic ratio for this monohybrid cross was 32:11 (32 purple and 11
yellow). It matches the predicted phenotypic ratio of 3:1 (3 purple versus 1 yellow). If 3 and 1 were
multiplied by three, the predicted phenotypic ratio would be 33:11, resulting in our ear of corn, being
off by only 1 purple kernel.
The ear of corn labelled G, had 291 corn kernels total for the 6 rows. There were 168 purple smooth
corn kernels, 54 purple wrinkled kernels, 49 yellow smooth kernels, and 20 yellow wrinkled kernels.
The actual phenotypic ratio for this dihybrid cross is 168:54:49:20. No common factor can go into all
four numbers, so it cannot be reduced.
The chi square value for the data from the dihybrid cross was 0.993. The data supports the prediction.

AKI Case
Frederick was given a preliminary diagnosis of a prerenal AKI. AKI is a complex condition with
various different definitions available, most including a rapid decline in kidney function and the lack
of ability of the kidneys to filter blood, subsequently leading to increased levels of serum creatinine
and BUN levels in the blood (Cheung et al., 2008). AKI is the leading cause of nephrology
consultation in the UK and carries with it high mortality rates (Basile, 2012). The primary causes of an
AKI are hypoxia, ischemia and nephrotoxicity. The main underlying feature of an AKI is a rapid
decrease in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), which is strongly linked with a decrease in blood flow
to the kidneys. The GFR depends on the interplay between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is secondary to under perfusion of otherwise normally functioning kidneys and if detected early can
be reversible. In Mr Jones s case, his kidney s experienced hypo perfusion during surgery. Hypo
perfusion consequently causes azotemia due to the excess nitrogenous wastes in the blood.
Medications, such as high doses of dopamine, can cause prerenal kidney injury due to the production
of intrarenal vasoconstriction, which can lead to hypo perfusion of the glomeruli (Nissenson, 1998).
The kidneys have an enormous blood supply and account for 20 25% of cardiac output. This blood
supply is needed for the removal of waste products and the management of fluid and electrolyte
balances. If the blood flow to the kidneys is reduced, this has a decreasing effect on the GFR leading
to a decreased urine output, filtration and reabsorption of filtered material through the glomerulus.
This can lead to further issues and effect other organs in the body. Fredrick experienced a decreased
urine output as a symptom of his reduced GFR. Fredrick s increased respiration rate noted during
assessment was an indicator of his deterioration and alerted the medical team that there was an
underlying issue. During the nurse s assessment, they observed that Frederic had very poor urine
output, which is also linked with the drop in the GFR in the kidneys. Thus, encouraging the nursing
staff to take immediate action with thereputic

The Final Solution Essay
The Final Solution There are two main schools of thought amongst historians about the Final Solution
and only one of them is right. The intentionalist theory is that of one which places Hitler at the helm
where he is seen to have had the intention from the beginning (even before his rise to power) to
exterminate the Jews. International Jewry was blamed for the humiliation of Germany in the Treaty of
Versailles, and German Jewry was accused of betraying Germany in World War I. The functionalist
theory is that where the Final Solution was decided upon only after many failed attempts to force Jews

At the very beginning Hitler simply wanted lebensraum, living space, for the pure German people. In
the Nuremberg Laws of 1930, the Nazi party wanted to design a series of laws that assured the purity
of German blood and German honour and basically stripped Jews of their rights so that they would
move on. These laws were passed in 1935 and many others, ensured a move on Hitler s view of the
Jewish race in Germany. No law passed ever stated the physical destruction of the Jewish race. In a
letter to Adolf Gemlich in 1919, Hitler states that he stated that the Jewish problem would eventually
be solved through a process of depriving the Jews privileges and classifying them as foreigners. This
in its own right shows that early on in the movement Hitler only wanted to make the Jews feel un
wanted and rejected in the German way of life. In 1940, plans were devised by the Nazis to ship all
Jews to Madagascar. This was called the Madagascan Plan and involved moving every single Jew
from Germany and her captured lands to Madagascar so as to rid them from Germany altogether. This
was abandoned soon after the Wannsee Conference as it was deemed impractical for operation during
wartime. Even in Hitler s book, Mein Kampf, we can see The Death Camps that led to the death of so
many Jewish people was actually under the ultimate control of Heinrich

Distance learning is basically taking college level, credit bearing courses via the Internet. One of the

Thurgood Marshall s Influence
Thurgood Marshall s impact and influence started at a young age with the development and guidance
from his parents, William and Norma. They taught both he and his brother the importance of education
and to think and learn. It was his father that exposed Thurgood and his brother to the aspects of the
courtroom and the bases and practices of law. Their father would often get both of them engaged in
discussions concerning cases observed in the court and promoted the need to debate their case. Both
their parents were engaged in the boys lives an ensured education was a priority ( Thurgood Marshall,

Theme of Sacrifice in My Antonia and The Song of the Lark
A common trait for Willa Cather s characters is that they possess a certain talent or skill. This art
usually controls the lives of these characters. According to critic Maxell Geismar, Cather s heroines
who possess a skill often either do not marry or marry men whom they dominate; if they do marry the
marriage is without excitement because their passion is invested in their art. In a sense, Geismar
accuses Cather s heroines of sacrificing their marital roles for their art (172). However, marriage is not
the only aspect that raises the subject of sacrifice for Cather s protagonists there is also the issue of
family. This is because a woman artist, or any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet she is still accused of sacrificing too much for her art because of her sex.
A woman of the early nineteenth century is solely regarded as a daughter, wife or mother. These roles
are embedded into the lifestyles of all women, which present them with their identities. Therefore,
when a girl chooses to bestow priority to her art instead of her family, it is negatively considered a
sacrifice. This applies to Thea Kronberg and her relationship to her mother. Thea leaves Moonstone at
the age of seventeen to study in Chicago. After much struggle, Thea realizes that the only place that
she may gain success is in Germany. While in Germany Thea learns of her mother s illness, yet she
chooses not to leave the country and return to her hometown because it will postpone her singing
career. On the surface, this seems to be a cruel act of an egotistical woman, who would rather
accomplish her desire than be with her dying mother. This same mother encourages Thea to pursue
music: she provides a separate room for Thea to practice and study, allows her to associate with the
Mexicans for they have great singing talent and even grants permission for Thea to study with a
drunken musical genius. As a mother, Mrs. Kronberg provides much more for Thea than for any of her
other children, and yet this daughter chooses not to be with her during her last days.

Residential Schools And The Effect On The Development Of...
This paper is focusing on Residential Schools and the effect they had on the development of the
individuals who attended the schools. The thought behind the Residential Schools was that,
Residential schools were the institutions, in operation from the 19th century to the late 20th century,
which Indigenous children in Canada were forced to attend (Ross, Dion, Cantinotti, Collin Vézina,
Paquette, 2015, p. 184). Residential Schools have caused intergenerational hardship and trauma to
Indigenous People s that has affected their well being and development. Being First Nations myself
and having family members who suffered the Residential Schools, I have seen the effects on our
people. Residential Schools had negative impacts on the individuals who attended these schools by
removing them from their communities and placing the children in these schools, the effects of the
Residential Schools still impact some of the survivors to this day. It needs to be remembered that
these, children did not choose to attend these schools, they were forced into attending. Those who are

Feudalism And Feudal States From Europe After The Breakup...
Name: Jessica Anne Knupp

How did feudalism and feudal states come to be formed in Europe after the breakup of the Carolingian
empire?
Feudalism is the word used to describe a complex set of relationships which appeared following the
reign of Charlemagne. I came to find that basically there isn t a book to tell you exactly about
feudalism, no rule book or handbook. Because of this feudalism is sometimes difficult to describe and
just as difficult to understand, I had problems understanding the topic myself. I actually found myself
having to think harder and require more resources spending multiple hours just researching on the
matter just to understand the system as much as possible and its apparently nonexistent rules. On top
of that, also attempting to learn how feudalism first started and why of its popularity for many years.
As I continued to gather information, I noticed the difficulty of finding just how and where feudalism
made its first appearance. It was rare I would find two credible sources with the same historical dating
for feudalism.
Feudalism was the term officially used by historians to describe the type of government institutions, as
well as the general social and political relationships, that existed at that period among warrior
landholders in much of Europe, what we know today as the Middle Ages. Feudalism, a few years later
after its birth, it began defined as a contract under which military service was given in

To begin, Ferrero Rocher is known to be one of the most equisite european chocolatiers in the world.

the very own Ferrero Rocher itself, it is absolutely the most addicting thing a person could consume.
As a chocoholic, I consume chocolate daily, but it varies off brand. Nutella, is my perfect end to a
good meal, it is always my after dinner dessert or many times too often, my late night snack. However,
when you think of that spoon full of goodness, you often wonder who makes it so good?

The overwhelming traits of Reuven So, what does a person think when he sees a Jew? Does he only

when they need him, he even remains caring to those who have offended him. Reuven displays many

No, I said (95). The significant part of this passage reads when Reuven says No . This remains
important because four days earlier, Danny Saunders nailed him in his eye with a baseball purposely.
And even though Danny Saunders did that awful thing, Reuven let him sit next to him. What an act of
kindness and forgiveness! Because Reuven let Danny sit next to him, gesturing an act of forgiveness,
his exhibited his unrelenting kindness. Overall, Reuven s skill to forgive Danny even though he hurt
him, designates his personality trait of kindness. Finally, a personality trait that most women wish
their husbands had, the ability to listen. Listening to his Dad and friend, Reuven demonstrates it the
most. My father stopped, looked at me with a smile, and said, You are not asleep yet, Reuven? No
Abba. .... I smiled back at him and waited patiently (143). As a person can clearly see, Reuven listened
to his father intently during his whole lecture, thus proving his amazing ability to listen. Another
example exists when his friend Danny and him started a long walk to Danny s house. During their
walk, Danny talked to him the whole time, and all Reuven did, was look at him and listened to what
he had to say. Hence, when Danny kept on babbling about whatever he had to exclaim, Reuven stood

The Habib s Child Care Center
Executive Summary
This report is about the business I have come up with which includes key elements of my business
idea. The Habib s Child Care Center PTY is a full service child care that cares for toddlers from age
two to four. Through focused training of the support staff and advanced learning systems, The Habib s
child care center is upper hand in terms of child development. This program, joined with a custom
designed center and a low teacher/student ratio ensures a great service for the children and the parents.
Introduction
I have come up with a new small business based in Australia. This small business is a Child care
center named Habib s Child Care Center located in Burwood. It is a suburb in the Inner West of
Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 12 kilometers west of the Sydney central
business district which makes it perfect for someone to start up a child care center and is the
administrative center for the local government area of Burwood Council.
Business structure legal considerations
a day care operation s Business structure may not be willingly visible, but it is there in the
arrangement of activities, staffing and careful adherence to child care regulations. Business structure
provides the framework for carrying out the work of the day care. Child care laws and regulations
provide little room for many differences in the business structures of for profit and nonprofit day care
centers. The business structure chosen that best

Industry experts note that major transformations are under way in health insurance, and cite several
major drivers that demand innovation to protect future success: (Singh Sawhney, 2006)
· Rising healthcare costs are pressuring employers, who are moving toward consumer directed and
defined contribution benefit plan designs. This means that consumers will be challenged at new levels
to manage their health costs and benefits, and they ll need unprecedented levels of access to
information to manage their decisions. With consumers holding more of the financial responsibility,
they ll have new motivation to demand consumer friendly services and information. (Singh Sawhney,
2006)
· Competition is forcing consolidation of health insurers. Two years ago, there were fifteen major for
profit insurance plans that controlled the national market. They have consolidated into nine players,
and further changes are predicted. (Singh Sawhney, 2006)
· As a result of changing business models and industry consolidation, fewer companies are competing
for fewer covered lives in a stagnant market. In short, the commercial and group

An Investigation of Customization in ERP System...
IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT, VOL. 56, NO. 4, NOVEMBER
2009 663 An Investigation of Customization in ERP System Implementations Marcus A. Rothenberger
and Mark Srite Abstract This research investigates why certain enterprise resource planning (ERP)
system adopters have pursued high levels of software customization during implementation despite
the generally accepted best practice heuristic of limiting customization. Qualitative data from ERP
adoption projects and consultants working with ERP implementations have been collected. This study
empirically identifies customization drivers and explains their relationship to customization. The
results suggest that high customization may occur because of: unnecessary ... Show more content on

Such decisions address the dilemma that all ERP adopters continuously face during the
implementation: whether to change the business process to fit the ERP system or whether to change
the ERP system to fit the business process. To minimize customization, the decision to change the ERP
system should only be made in rare circumstances, e.g., when a business process cannot be changed
without losing a competitive advantage. Furthermore, such decisions require cooperation between the
information technology (IT) and the operational departments, following formal defined activities,
which are part of a change management process. Thus, change management is instrumental to ERP
implementation. In fact, it was listed as one of the top five factors in a study of chief information
officer (CIO) perceptions of critical success factors for ERP projects [17]. The analysis of two
implementation cases [7] confirms this notion as it identifies change management as one of the major
success factors. The issue of management and employee readiness to implementing business process
change is a common characteristic of successful implementations. In a case study of a failed SAP R/3
implementation [13], the absence of change management inhibited the broad involvement of
employees in the implementation of business changes required for the successful adoption of the ERP
system standard processes. The importance of business process reengineering and minimal
customization was further confirmed

stars. We also went on some tours, such as TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there,

As the pipelines crossed the borders of states, the jurisdiction problem arose leading to regulatory gap.
From 1911 to 1928, the interstate pipelines were left unregulated. During the same period a series of
judgments from Supreme Court were declared stating that the state governments cannot regulate these
interstate pipelines, as it violates a commerce clause in Constitution . This resulted in entry of the
Federal government to fill the regulatory gap.
Meanwhile in electric utility sector which has a large number of companies developed very complex
pyramid ownership holding patterns. A company is in holding of another company and which in turn
is in holding of another company which is in turn is in holding by another company. With conflicting
interests in top management, end customers prices were peaking high and operations were became
inefficient. Based on Federal trade commission s report on the situation, federal government passed
the Public Utility Holding Company Act 1935 (PUHCA) , which specified rules for the holding
patterns for utility companies. This act s purview also included the natural gas utilities, but nothing
was stated regarding the interstate pipelines.
In 1938, the Federal Government passed the Natural Gas Act (NGA) for regulating the interstate
pipelines. The act added the interstate natural gas pipelines to the Federal Power Commission s (FPC)
(now FERC) jurisdiction. The FPC regulated two major areas.

  • 3. The Impact Of Television On The Television Industry Essay Whilst much of television s history has relied on specific industrial practices established early in the 1960s, the turn of the century has introduced significant changes to the medium of television. The current position of television, defined by Lotz as the post network era, illustrates an evolution from these early industry practices. For the most part, scholars agree that this transition was caused by changes in the industrial norms of producing, financing, and distributing television, many of which can be attributed to the arrival of digital technologies. This essay will argue that these changes throughout the television industry have created a new, distinctive era of television culture. First and foremost, Lotz provides valuable insight into the distinguishable eras of television development. The resulting three eras are defined as the network era, multi channel transition and post network era (7). The network era , which spanned roughly from the early 1950s to the mid 1980s, governed industry operations and created a television experience which characterizes much of the medium s history. This era was characterized by adapting radio network modes of content creation, distribution, advertising, and audience measurement to the context of the then new televisual medium. Dominated by a three network oligopoly network system comprised of ABC, NBC and CBS critics have often condemned the network era as bland due to its strict censorship and limited creative ... • 4. The Impacts Of The 18th And 18th Amendments The Eighteenth and Nineteenth Amendments The Eighteenth Amendment states that, one year after the states ratified the article, the making, selling, and importing or exporting of alcohol is illegal unless for medicinal or religious reasons. Congress can pass any laws it finds necessary to uphold the Eighteenth Amendment. If ¾ of the states did not ratify the article within seven years, then the article would not take effect. (18th Amendment) One impact of the Eighteenth Amendment was the end, in theory, of the sale and consumption of alcohol. America had just returned from World War I when Prohibition was started. The men had gotten addicted to morphine and heroine and could no longer buy those drugs so they bought the cheapest thing they could find alcohol. This started a wave of drunkenness across the country and the women were not happy. The women had taken men s place in the workforce while they were gone and, when the men came back, they lost all their jobs to the men. But, the men were not working. Instead, they were getting drunk all day, trying to forget what they saw at war. This angered women greatly. Because the women had gained power from working the men s jobs during the war, the women used their power to promote Prohibition across the country. Another impact of the Eighteenth Amendment is the rise of organized crime. It is the law of supply and demand. When the supply of a product, alcohol, goes down, the demand for it goes up. • 9. Robert Frost Poetry Analysis This poem was written by Robert Frost in 1923, in New Hampshire. He wrote it for political reasons because he was mourning the end of the world. It does not appear as it was origianally written. It was not part of a series or collection. It also does not belong to any particular movement. This poem was not written about any person or national hero. It is not a lyric, or a haiku. It is, however, a conffesional poem, as it speaks of his opinion of the polotics of that time. Yes, because, the title is obvious as it describes the main topic of the poem. No, there is really only one set meaning to the poem. There is no balance, as it mainly talks about the end of the world. There is really no obvious opposite in this poem. Yes, it mentions the garden of Eden in the poem. The only repitition in the poem, that I could find, was when he mentioned leaves dieing. This poem suggests the passing of day and the change of the seasons in this poem. The passage of day is obvious, with no gaps in between The name Eden has value because Eden was a garden of holy perfection, So Eden sank to grief means that the world ends. Yes, at first glance this poem appears to be about nature and the seasons, but if you take into consideration that he was unhappy with the politics at the time, things begin to make more sense. Yes, because this poem shows that, at this point in time, the people where unhappy with the politics, and concerned about the current war Yes, although, at first glance, this poem ... The middle ages were a time of constant political changes, and struggling to survive. As a result, fashion for most people (commoners) tended to be a simple tied robe or tunic. This was a result of the current clothing creation methods. But when the industrial revolution hit, things headed back to the way they were. Simpler, less unique clothing for the common man. However, the process of ready making clothing came about. No longer was a tailor a part of the process for your everyday clothing. You could purchase, at a much cheaper price than a tailor charged, clothing in one of several sizes. Clothing stayed ready made for a long time. Tailors, individuals, and family members could still make more personalized clothing, but the mass produced clothing was the way to go. It was sturdy and not terrible to look at, so it remained. In the USA, the civil war had gone into full gear. As a result, they needed clothing (Uniforms) to be produced faster than the current process could allow. Essay On Antoni Gaudi Antoni Gaudí, a Catalan architect has become internationally recognized as one of the most prodigious experts in architecture, as well as the one of the top exponents of modernism. His exceptional ground breaking genius made him the inventor of a unique and personal architectural language that defies classification. The work of Gaudí is remarkable for its range of forms, textures, polychromy and for the free, expressive way in which these elements of his art seem to be composed. Gaudí died on the 10th of June, 1926, after being knocked down by a tram while making his way, as he did every evening to the Sagrada Família from the Church of Sant Felip Neri. The History Of Animals Being Domesticated The history of animals being domesticated starts as far back as 20,000 years ago, when large mammals such as bison roamed the tundra of Europe and Asia. They were hunted widely by two groups of hunters, both smaller and weaker than the bison, but both had sufficient developed social systems to allow them to hunt and kill in packs. These two hunters were the humans and the wolves. These two groups of hunters are surprisingly similar. Both are family based and led by a dominant male whose female partner has authority second to his. All of the members are friendly towards each other, but extremely suspicious of outsiders. All members are also protective of any newborn and young in the pack, and both are good at interpreting the moods of others, by facial expression or other forms of body language. On the side of the wolves, human ingenuity and the use of weapons mean a share in a greater number of kill, and maybe a taste of bigger pretty they couldn t take down alone, such as mammoths. If 3 and 1 were multiplied by three, the predicted phenotypic ratio would be 33:11, resulting in our ear of corn, being off by only 1 purple kernel. AKI is a complex condition with various different definitions available, most including a rapid decline in kidney function and the lack of ability of the kidneys to filter blood, subsequently leading to increased levels of serum creatinine and BUN levels in the blood (Cheung et al., 2008). AKI is the leading cause of nephrology consultation in the UK and carries with it high mortality rates (Basile, 2012). The primary causes of an AKI are hypoxia, ischemia and nephrotoxicity. The main underlying feature of an AKI is a rapid decrease in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), which is strongly linked with a decrease in blood flow to the kidneys. The GFR depends on the interplay between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is secondary to under perfusion of otherwise normally functioning kidneys and if detected early can be reversible. In Mr Jones s case, his kidney s experienced hypo perfusion during surgery. Hypo perfusion consequently causes azotemia due to the excess nitrogenous wastes in the blood. Medications, such as high doses of dopamine, can cause prerenal kidney injury due to the production of intrarenal vasoconstriction, which can lead to hypo perfusion of the glomeruli (Nissenson, 1998). The kidneys have an enormous blood supply and account for 20 25% of cardiac output. This blood supply is needed for the removal of waste products and the management of fluid and electrolyte balances. If the blood flow to the kidneys is reduced, this has a decreasing effect on the GFR leading to a decreased urine output, filtration and reabsorption of filtered material through the glomerulus. This can lead to further issues and effect other organs in the body. Fredrick experienced a decreased urine output as a symptom of his reduced GFR. Fredrick s increased respiration rate noted during assessment was an indicator of his deterioration and alerted the medical team that there was an underlying issue. During the nurse s assessment, they observed that Frederic had very poor urine output, which is also linked with the drop in the GFR in the kidneys. These laws were passed in 1935 and many others, ensured a move on Hitler s view of the Jewish race in Germany. No law passed ever stated the physical destruction of the Jewish race. In a letter to Adolf Gemlich in 1919, Hitler states that he stated that the Jewish problem would eventually be solved through a process of depriving the Jews privileges and classifying them as foreigners. This in its own right shows that early on in the movement Hitler only wanted to make the Jews feel un wanted and rejected in the German way of life. In 1940, plans were devised by the Nazis to ship all Jews to Madagascar. This was called the Madagascan Plan and involved moving every single Jew from Germany and her captured lands to Madagascar so as to rid them from Germany altogether. IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT, VOL. 56, NO. 4, NOVEMBER 2009 663 An Investigation of Customization in ERP System Implementations Marcus A. Rothenberger and Mark Srite Abstract This research investigates why certain enterprise resource planning (ERP) system adopters have pursued high levels of software customization during implementation despite the generally accepted best practice heuristic of limiting customization. Qualitative data from ERP adoption projects and consultants working with ERP implementations have been collected. This study empirically identifies customization drivers and explains their relationship to customization. The results suggest that high customization may occur because of: unnecessary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such decisions address the dilemma that all ERP adopters continuously face during the implementation: whether to change the business process to fit the ERP system or whether to change the ERP system to fit the business process. To minimize customization, the decision to change the ERP system should only be made in rare circumstances, e.g., when a business process cannot be changed without losing a competitive advantage. Furthermore, such decisions require cooperation between the information technology (IT) and the operational departments, following formal defined activities, which are part of a change management process. Thus, change management is instrumental to ERP implementation. In fact, it was listed as one of the top five factors in a study of chief information officer (CIO) perceptions of critical success factors for ERP projects [17]. The analysis of two implementation cases [7] confirms this notion as it identifies change management as one of the major success factors. The issue of management and employee readiness to implementing business process change is a common characteristic of successful implementations. In a case study of a failed SAP R/3 implementation [13], the absence of change management inhibited the broad involvement of employees in the implementation of business changes required for the successful adoption of the ERP system standard processes. The importance of business process reengineering and minimal customization was further confirmed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Over the summer I went to Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas Nevada. Now, I am not telling you about two different trips, this was all in one trip. On August fifth, 2017 we drove two hours to Indianapolis and got on a plane to go to California. The flight was about four hours, three hours and fifty eight minutes to be exact. We had first class. My dad and sister sat next to each other and my mom and I sat next to each other. Once we landed at the airport in Los Angeles, we had to get our suitcases and our rental car. Getting our suitcases took about forty five minutes and getting the car rental took about an hour and a half. Once we got to our hotel, it was ten o clock p.m. their time, Twelve o clock a.m. our time. We were all hungry because even though we had food on the plane, most of us didn t eat it. So we ordered pizza and went to bed. The next day, we went to the Walk of Fame and saw all the movie stars names on the stars. We also went on some tours, such as TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there, it was so much fun! We also went to the Chinese Theater museum and went to go see the Hollywood sign, from afar.
