Native America s Endangered Language Summary
Why Endangered Native Languages Must be Saved People without the knowledge of their past
history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots Marcus Garvey once said. Ellen L. Lutz article
Saving America s Endangered Languages , she begins to talk about how the Native Americans
language was stolen and needs to be brought back. She mainly focuses on the Navajo language. Her
article is very intriguing and grabs the reader s attention as it continues with facts and evidence to
back up how the Native American languages are being lost and stolen. However, she also talks about
how she is in this group called Culture Survival and is promoting it so we don t forget about
languages/cultures in the future. Lutz builds an argument to persuade the audience that Native
American languages must be saved because, ... the government set up a system of boarding schools
that punished Indians for speaking languages other than English... (Lutz). Domination in our
government isn t a good thing at all. They may have passed the Native American Languages Act, but
the funding isn t there to keep everything up and running. The Act is a federal policy to protect the
Native American languages. The funding isn t there because the congress passed the Esther Martinez
Native American Languages Act to give $10 million dollars to the tribes ... Show more content on

With reasoning she provides many logical reasons on ways for us to believe/join the movement on
saving endangered Native American languages. Across the country, where Native American children
know their language, they are more likely to use their education and talents to enrich their
communities (Lutz). The author utilizes inductive reasoning behind all of her reasoning methods and
is very effective to almost everyone who reads this article. With that being said she also promotes her
campaign to make all Native American languages in effective logic reasoning

Pope Francis Influence On Religion
Pope Francis was influenced by the Theology of Liberation, by Gustavo Gutierrez, in his upbringing
as a priest and that has inspired him to implement those ideas in his reign as a pope in becoming a
more relatable figure of the Catholic Church for both Catholics and non Catholics.
Liberation Theology was a movement started in Latin America by a Peruvian Priest named Gustavo
Gutierrez, which supported the idea of interpreting the canon law of the Catholic Church for the
perspective of the poor. This, however, went against the top down hierarchical structure of the
Catholic Church. It was seen as a western grass roots movement to change the Church s way of
functioning and was generally ignored. Pope Francis, however, was influenced by the ... Show more

The media loves this because they now have positive things to say about the Pope and Catholic
Church that has been riddled with controversy after controversy beginning with the Vatican Leaks
scandal. The media portrays him in a very positive light due to his liberal stances on controversial
topics. However, they do not hesitate to point out that he is still indeed the Pope and the head of the
Catholic Church and that no matter how cool he may come off, he still is in charge of a strict and
regulated religious institution. In an article by Vox regarding the Pope s stance on Global warming, it
was mentioned that he was deeply critical of both our technological mindset and modernity s
utilitarian propensities. This means that even though he supports technology, he does not trust the way
that people implement it into their daily lives. In another article by Vice, they write that while the pope
may have a twitter, he has not watched television in 25 years. The media will show the pope in a
positive light saying that he is at least trying to connect with the youth, as they are our future, but the
media also tells us that we are not to be fooled. The Pope is still the head of the Catholic Church and
will maintain to preach Catholic teachings; the only difference is that he is endorsing a more liberal
approach to running the Catholic

Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Essay
Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing illustrates a kind of deliberately
puzzling title that seems to have been popular in the late 1590s (ex quot;As You Like It quot;). Indeed,
the play is about nothing; it follows the relationships of Claudio and Hero (which is constantly
hampered by plots to disrupt it), and in the end, the play culminates in the two other main characters
falling in love (Beatrice and Bena*censored*), which, because it was an event that was quite
predictable, proves to be quot;much ado about nothing quot;. The pronunciation of the word nothing
would, in the late 16th Century, have been noting, and so the title also apparently suggests a pun on
the word, noting, and on the use of the word ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This attitude is reflected in Shakespeare s plays. For example, in Much Ado About Nothing, many f
the characters have Italian names (Borachio, Claudio, etc.). This is also true of some of Shakespeare s
others plays such as The Taming of the Shrew, and Romeo and Juliet. Major Themes One of the major
themes in Much Ado About Nothing centers around the question and battle between deception and
reality. One first notices of the image of deception as we witness the masking and unmasking at the
masquerade. In the play, most overhear discussions are deceptions. It is through eavesdropping that we
see the true battle between deception and reality as we look at the subplots of Bene*censored* and
Beatrice, Hero and Claudio, as well as the comedy of Dogberry and his crew. The relationship
between Bene*censored* and Beatrice is one manufactured completely through deception on the
behalf of their friends. Though the plot to unite them was planned, many of the problems that arose
were because of things that were overheard accidentally or on purpose. In Act II, Scene 3
Bene*censored* is deceived into thinking that Beatrice loves him because of the speech in the garden
between Leonato, Claudio, and Don Pedro. Beatrice is sent to fetch Bene*censored* for dinner, and
Bene*censored* notes some marks of love in her[Beatrice], (240 241) and he decides to take pity
upon her and return her love. In Act III, Scene 1 Beatrice

The Illusion that Money Brings Happiness
Some would say we are slaves to our primal urges, shackled in our endless pursuit of gratification and
shaping our very existence around them. We gravitate towards the things in life that bring us pleasure,
and recoil from those that cause us pain. People always show a feeling of wanting everything their
way, as to wanting something. Just like everything else there are always limits. In order to obtain these
things that people believe will bring them happiness, many go over the line. Many believe that with
money they can have anything they desire. Though it may be true to an extent, sometimes the desires
eventually turn into greed and people lose some of the most valuable things life has to offer.
Focusing on the illusion that money brings happiness may have an unexpected turn later down the
road. For instance, when someone reflects on how money would change their sense of well being, they
would probably think about spending more time in leisurely pursuits such as traveling abroad. But in
reality, they would have to spend a large amount of time working and less time engaged in
experienced happiness. Robert H. Frank says in his book Luxury Fever: Money and Happiness in an
Era of Excess:
Even among those who can easily afford today s luxury offerings, there has been a price to pay. All of
us rich and poor alike, but especially the rich are spending more time at the office and taking shorter
vacations; we are spending less time with our families and friends; and we have

What Can Social Psychology Teach Us About What Happened At...
What can social psychology teach us about what happened at Abu Ghraib? By Mandy Stead During
the Iraq war that between 2003 and 2006, the united states army committed a series of human rights
violations against prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison near Bagdad. The violations included murder, sexual
and physical abuse, rape, torturer, sodomy, humiliating and dehumanizing prisoners. In 2004 the abuse
that was carried out was exposed by the publication of images that were taken by the soldiers that
carried out the violations. This paper will be looking at what social psychology can teach us about
what happened at Abu Ghraib. The abuse took place in tier 1A on the night shift. The soldiers involved
were all reserve soldiers who were not prepared or trained for this mission. They were asked to
interrogate the detainees take the gloves off to extract information out of them. The soldiers were
pressured into crossing the line to gain information by the centre intelligence agency, tier 1A was
known as the interrogation hold. One detained was mentally ill, he covered himself in faeces every
day, the soldiers would have to role him in sand so he wouldn t smell so bad and they named him
Shitboy . What was he doing in an interrogation hold? This is one example that shows the level of
humiliation and dehumanisation that went on. Philip Zimbardo was an expert witness for U.S. Army
Reserve Staff Sgt. Ivan Chip Frederick, who was convicted of five charges of abusing prisoners,

believe Billy the kid was a bad person, there are many stories of Billy that make him seem like a
carefree and funny person. Billy the Kid had to overcome lots of obstacles in his life and those
hardships are what made him a bad person. Billy s real name was Henry McCarty,he was also known
as William H. Bonney (2 Billy ). Many rumors have been stated about Billy the Kid for years, but
what is the real life of Billy the Kid? When Billy was still a child his mother remarried a guy named
William Antrim but she shortly died of Tuberculosis. Antrim didn t want the burden of raising two
small boys, so he separated them and placed them in foster homes (Brothers). At the age of 14, the
smooth cheeked, blue eyed McCarty was forced to find work in a hotel, washing and waiting tables at
the restaurant ( Old ). Before Billy s mother died he had a younger brother named Joseph, who is also

Comparing Epic Of Gilgamesh And Ecclesiastes From The...
The specific works of The Epic of Gilgamesh and the book of Ecclesiastes from the Hebrew Bible
disagree as to whether immortality is attainable whether it is limited to humans only, and whether
other elements may also benefit. (souls, deeds, etc.). The meaning of Immortality implies a never
ending existence, regardless of whether the body dies or not. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh
was in search of immortality. However, he may have found a different meaning to immortality.
The Search for Immortality in the Epic of Gilgamesh Ecclesiastes from the Hebrew Bible are two

In both works there is a Supreme being and a being that has come to the realization that the inhabitants
of earth were wicked. Therefore, God in his infinite wisdom destroyed the earth with a flood.
However, In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the gods influenced by Enlil were counseled to make the decision
to destroy the earth. In the Hebrew Bible, the story of Noah was mentioned briefly detailing God s
punishment on all living creatures for their bitterness correlates in The Epic of Gilgamesh in several
ways. Even though these literary works are passed on orally at contrasting times in history the
correlations implore deliberation when these stories are compared. Numerous themes are illustrated
throughout each story. Humans were found guilty of moral violation and were sentenced by God with
flood as punishment to destroy this immoral behavior. An investigation of the inconsistency and
similarities of both flood stories exposes the relationship between the Gods and the story s hero,
insight on each culture moral perspective on friendship and values as it applies to the flood, and each

Physical Exertion Of The Body
In recent years, sedentary has become an increasingly popular term, being used to define a being
adopting an inactive lifestyle with potentially health suffering consequences. Its use has been
predominantly heard by health professionals and the government in the hope to abolish this behaviour
and restore the health (the state of complete mental, physical and social wellbeing, not merely the
absence of illness) (WHO, 2003) of members of society labelled with this tag who are suffering from
sedentary related conditions that potentially require expensive treatment or hospital admission. The
aim is to implement exercise (physical exertion of the body resulting in healthier physical fitness)
(Medical News Today, 2014) targeting several less active sociological groups through means of
initiatives and renovated access to facilities.
Previously, exercise was only referred to at the elite standard. Those that competed in chosen fields of
sport were known to undertake regular exercise to improve the areas of the body that mostly
concerned them. Groups of people that fell outside of this small category were not considered
physically active in the same sense, but they were still regarded fit. Several sedentary related
conditions were not as prevalent in these times as they are now, for example, less people were obese,
coronary heart disease was rarer and depression was less common. One statistic stated that the
prevalence of obesity in England has more than doubled in the last

US Income Tax Case Study
The United States enacted IRC 385 in 1969, which gave tax authorities the power to determine if
intercompany loans were, in substance, equity investments. The tax authorities believed then that
characterising intercompany loans as equity would resolve the thin capitalisation issue. If the IRS
could deem intercompany loans to be investments, it could treat the interest payments as dividends,
which are not tax deductible. However, the tax authorities eventually determined these tools were
inadequate. In 1989, Congress enacted (IRC) section 163(j) to address the concern of US earnings
being stripped out in the form of interest payments on debt by a U.S. subsidiary to its foreign parent
company. The concern was that the U.S. subsidiary would receive a U.S. tax deduction that reduces its
U.S. taxable income while the interest paid to the foreign based parent corporation may not be subject
to U.S. withholding tax (or subject to a reduced rate) under various income tax treaties.
The current U.S. earnings stripping rule limits the deductibility of disqualified interest expense .

Even if a debt to equity ratio exceeds 1.5 to 1, a U.S. corporation is allowed current deductions as long

(interest expense minus interest income) does not exceed 50% of its adjusted taxable income. Adjusted
taxable income is determined by adjusting a corporation s taxable income for certain non cash items
(e.g., depreciation) and it roughly equals that corporation s pre interest cash

What are the main similarities and differences between the sanctuaries of Olympia and Delphi?
Reflecting upon Olympia and Delphi, it is possible to highlight both similarities and differences
between the two sanctuaries. In examining the location and the main attributes of each sanctuary, it is
clear how they differ and how they are comparable in various ways. Whilst they clearly differ in their
geographical situation, they are similar in that they both host their own games. However it is what
occurs in these games that distinguish between the two. Both sanctuaries have considerable religious
elements to them; however it is arguable that Delphi has more religious significance to the rest of the

In the image of a black figure vase, we can see a clear distinction between the different characters
involved during the games. We can see the umpire on the right of the vase, naked and with a whip in
his hand, ready to punish any athletes who cheated. The lower bodied athlete signals submission to the
umpire, who then forwards the submission to the hellanodikai. The hellanodikai, on the left of the
vase, wears a robe, which would have been purple, and a crown to signify his more honourable roll.
The five days of the Olympics each had their own special event; the first included the athletes and
hellanodikai swearing an oath of honesty and sportsmanship before the statue of Zeus, an unbreakable
promise. The second day hosted the horse races and the pentathlon, consisting of discus, the long
jump, javelin, running and wrestling, all went on in one afternoon. The third day saw a more religious
side to the Olympics; rites for the hero Pelops were given, a procession of all participants,
hellanodikai and ambassadors of the different cities took place, and a sacrifice of a hundred cows was
given to Zeus. The fourth day was for the running and combat sports, including wrestling, boxing and
pankration, which was a sport that combined both the rules of wrestling and boxing. In contrast to the
Pythian Games at Delphi, musical events were never added to the Olympic Games. Victors in any of
the contests received a crown of leaves as a symbolic prize for their achievements, and

Dark Alliance By Gary Webb
Dark Alliance GARY Webb book review
In the book Dark Alliance by Gary Webb, is about the conspiracy of how the CIA had monitored the
selling of crack cocaine in America to help fund the Nicaraguan contras secretly. And also during this
process the Nicaraguan drugs were being sold to inner cities to create a drug known as crack that
harmed the black population drastically.
First of all Gary Webb had made a newspaper over this topic Gary was once a news paper reporter and
when he released the paper version of dark alliance it shocked America many believing it was real
many believing there was not enough evidence however it has stood till today as being an accurate
interpretation of corruption that indeed happened in present day America.
The book tells us the story of how this all went down, basically there was a Latin American army that
was obtaining profits from the illegal drugs that were being sold to the inner city gang groups known
as the Crips and bloods. and while all this was happening the CIA was well aware and in fact they
were supposedly running the whole operation. Know that the drugs ... Show more content on

After this incident Webb was demoted for telling the truth so quit soon after.
Thane eventually many of the suspensions came to light when the inspector general of the CIA had
confessed that the CIA was involved in the drug trafficking between the contras and the united states
and also stated that the operation was under wraps for 13 years there was no documentation of the
events. However the American government just pretended as if nothing was ever going

At the end of first cycle, when we showed the UI to the product manager, he was not satisfied. He felt

was quite upset about it and in fact felt that I was to be partly blamed for this fiasco as I did not work
harder to understand requirements. This change impacted not only our deliverables but also created
bad breath amongst the product manager and team members.
After the end of second cycle, however, when we delivered the revised theme to the product manager,
he was highly impressed and commended us for being able to maintain the same timelines despite
changes in the requirements and expectation. We all felt greatly appreciated and were highly satisfied
with the results of our hard work. Unknowingly, to ensure that we did not mess up the deadlines, we
had reduced the amount of time we spent on unit testing. This impacted our third cycle as more bugs
than expected were reported during it and we spent more time than allocated on fixing it.
Finally, when the product was showcased by the product manager to other stakeholders, our product
was greatly appreciated for being intuitive, attractive and user friendly. I believe despite the fact the
requirements were changed when it came to designing the user interface it was greatly beneficial as

People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals Research Paper
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is an organization who fights against animal
cruelty. It informs people about the issues with animals. It also compares animal cruelty to drastic
events such as slavery, the Holocaust, World War II, etc. It has a history of proving what is humane.
The website excerpt titled Circuses: Three Rings of Abuse from the website peta.org is effective for its
audience of animal rights people, people who go to the circus or support them and others who are
concerned about the circus for the following reasons: usage of rhetorical and stylistic techniques, the
use of pathos and getting information from former circus employees. However, it is unreasonable for
the following reasons: it was unfair with involving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The information shows how the circuses are operated behind the scenes: According to congressional
testimony given by former Beatty Cole elephant keeper Tom Rider, [I]n White Plains, N.Y., when Pete
did not perform her act properly, she was taken to the tent and laid down, and five trainers beat her
with bullhooks. It shows how the circus treated the elephant if the elephant does not follow orders.
Most circuses have elephants because they are the common animals in the circus which brings PETA
to interview a former elephant keeper. Another former circus employee PETA interviews is Archele
Hundley. She worked with Ringling Bros. as an animal trainer and quit after claiming to know what
the animals go through with trainers. Hundley said, Ringling Bros. believes that if they can keep these
animals afraid, they can keep them submissive. The circus harms the animals to help itself. Providing
information from former employees gives credibility to PETA to tell the audience that the circus
abused its animals.
PETA is effective in many ways, although it s unreasonable by being unfair with involving an
undercover investigation. In being unfair, Video footage shot during a PETA undercover investigation
of Carson Barnes Circus showed Carson Barnes animal care director, Tim Frisco, as he viciously
attacked, yelled and cursed at, and shocked endangered Asian elephants. Conducting an undercover
investigation shows that the organization approach is unethical. PETA is all about being ethical, yet

when one player hits another player with their stick, are supposed be controlled and well placed. If a
player fails to do this they might get a penalty and they will sit on the sidelines for a set amount of

Van Gogh Essay
In this essay I am going to discuss Vincent Van Gogh and post Impressionism. Vincent Willem van
Gogh (March 1853 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its
rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far reaching influence on 20th century art. After
years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound,
generally accepted to be self inflicted (although no gun was ever found). His work was then known to
only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still.

One may begin to ask what features within the painting are responsible for its ever growing popularity.
There are actually several main aspects that intrigue those. Firstly here is the night sky filled with

features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel
comfortable and at ease with. This sky keeps the viewer s eyes moving about the painting, following
the curves and creating a visual dot to dot with the stars. This movement keeps the onlooker involved
in the painting while the other factors take hold.Secondly below the rolling hills of the horizon lies a
small town. There is a peaceful essence flowing from the structures. Perhaps the cool dark colors and
the fiery windows spark memories of our own warm childhood years filled with imagination of what
exists in the night and dark starry skies. The center point of the town is the tall steeple of the church,

Essay on Paradise by Toni Morrison
Paradise by Toni Morrison
Nine patriarchs found a town. Four women flee a life. Only one paradise is attained. Toni Morrison s
novel Paradise revolves around the concept of paradise, and those who believe they have it and those
who actually do. Morrison uses a town and a former convent, each with its own religious center, to tell
her tale about finding solace in an oppressive world. Whether fleeing inter and intra racial conflict or
emotional hurt, the characters travel a path of self isolation and eventual redemption. In her novel
Paradise, Toni Morrison uses the town of Ruby and four broken women to demonstrate how paradise
can not be achieved through isolation, but rather only through understanding and acceptance. ... Show

The citizens begin to associate with the outside world that had once despised them, and they became
eager to get away and try someplace else (6). The town of Haven had gone from feet to belly in fifty
years (5) and because of this the New Fathers decide to dismantle the Oven and relocate. The New
Fathers sought to keep the dream of a paradise alive because they knew what they might become if
they did not begin anew (6). Fifteen families pack their bags and leave to found the town of Ruby, a
town isolated by ninety miles from anything.
Just like its predecessor, Ruby is founded on the concept that isolation equals protection. The citizens
view Ruby as a fortress [they] bought and built up and [which they had] to keep everybody locked in
or out (213). It is a town where outsider and enemy are . . . two words [that] mean the same thing
(212). They believe in their isolation so much that the outsider, Reverend Misner, feels like he [is]
herding a flock which [believes] not only that it [has] created the pasture it [grazes] but that grass from
any other meadow [is] toxic (212). In an effort to retain this isolation which they believe to be
paradise, the citizens did not build anything to serve a traveler: no diner, no police, no gas station, no
public phone, no movie house, no hospital (12).
In spite of these efforts

Network Bandwidth And Data Upload Time
Though client side deduplication brings in advantages such as reduction of network bandwidth and
data upload time, several security threats are associated with it. These threats have to be addressed in
order to reap the full potential of client side deduplication. Halevi et al. [3] identified various threats
that affect a remote storage system that implements client side deduplication. First, in traditional
storage systems, privacy and confidentiality are compromised when an attacker learns the hash value
of a file and gains access to the entire file from the server. For example, Dropbox uses Secure Hash
Algorithm 256 (SHA256) in a straightforward manner; thus, it is possible for an attacker to obtain
hashes for confidential files of others. Using the hash, a hacker can easily download an unauthorized
file from the server. A practical way for performing this hack is demonstrated by the use of Dropship
application programming interface (API) utilities for Dropbox which allows a hacker to download
confidential files of others from Dropbox servers by obtaining the file hashes. This is comparatively
easy to obtain, and exploiting the weak client side deduplication technique that is applied [4]. Second,
if an attacker can access the server cache then all confidential hashes will be disclosed. Hence the
attacker can make the cloud storage service behave as a content distribution network (CDN) by
publishing the hacked hash values. In a case where the files hashes are published

Essay Realizing the Difference between a Want and a Need
A dress... Shoes... Underwear... Seeing this list made me want to cry. Unlike in other years, there wasn
t a single toy on any of the lists. Underwear... Really? Underwear shouldn t be on a three year old girl
s Christmas list. When I looked at this list, I realized I don t need anything at all. The latest trends and
technology seem so frivolous when put into comparison. When one realizes the difference between
needs and wants, one transforms into an adult. By realizing the greater needs of others, one is able to
put herself aside and dedicate her life to serving others. This Christmas season, National Honors
Society held a coat drive. I was amazed at how many coats were brought in to provide for the needy

She said, A need is something you cannot survive without. There are multiple parents that are
surviving and supporting families without a college education. As of 2011, only three out of 10 adult
Americans held bachelor s degrees (Vise). And that was setting a record high (Vise). My list of wants
greatly outnumbered my needs, and I was amazed to see just how blessed I am. How blessed I am to
live in the United States of America where I have freedoms that soldiers have fought and died for.
How blessed I am to live in a family with both a mother and a father. In 2009, there was
approximately 13.7 million single parents in the United States..., and those parents are responsible for
raising 22 million children,...26% of children under 21 in the U.S. (Wolf). How blessed I am to have
food on the table every night. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that
nearly 870 million people of the 7.1 billion people in the world, or one in eight, were suffering from
chronic undernourishment in 2010 2012 (2013 Worl...).
I don t have all these blessings just because I got lucky. I believe part of becoming an adult is learning
from the blessed life in which one lives. From a blessed life, one can humble herself and see what it is
like to be in someone else s shoes. Then, help those people. Help can come in various ways: money, a
smile, listening to them, giving a hand, etc. Within all the bad, depressing news I was able to read a

Emotional Contagion Paper
1. What was the focus this research question, and what s one article that you would read to learn more
about this topic?
The focus of this research question is to examine whether emotional contagion can occur through a
nonverbal cue, like a Facebook post or newsfeed and whether this nonverbal cue can help predict a
person s emotion even days later. One article that I would to read is Folwer s Dynamic spread of
happiness in a large social network in order to explore if emotional contagion has already happened in
other nonverbal settings.
2. What were at least two limitations of past research on this topic? Why are these limitations
important?
Two limitations of past research included the failure to account for shared experiences and if a

No, these studies cannot be generalized to real life situations, especially because Facebook is not a
source that can represent all people, neither can Facebook compare to all the variable that influence a
person daily mood experience.
7. Do you see any potential limitations or confounds that these researchers didn t address in their
discussion?
Yes, some confounds that researchers did not address is whether individual emotional state can affect
a person interaction with the News Feed emotional content. In others words, I believe that it is also
highly likely that Facebook is not creating the emotional contagion, but instead it s a response of each
individual tendency. For example, more depressive people would respond to negative posts, whereas
as happier people would react to happy

Introduction
Change is not always easy to come by. Sometimes change causes a good thing to go bad, while at
other times it can cause bad things to improve. Businesses have to be ready for change management at
any juncture within their life cycle if they expect to have longevity within the industries that they
operate. However, these changes can only be overcome through positive direction from leaders within
the company and through that organization s infrastructure maintaining similar mindsets throughout
its makeup. Change can carry with it a multiplicity of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Although these three companies operate in three unrelated industries, mail delivery services,
education, and transportation, these companies reflect that work team effectiveness is topic worthy of
consideration amongst any industry. Furthermore, these three companies convey the same principles
throughout the scope of work team effectiveness. These companies believe that clear communication
across their company s structure creates an environment in which every employee and client can
understand the directions of the company. They maintain the optimal levels of communication through
training their employees as the company or industry standards evolve; then they convey this
knowledge to their clientele. To clarify these concepts of clear communication and training observe
some specific actions of each of these companies as they foster effective team atmospheres within
their organizations.
Leapfrog s leadership teams come together to ponder, network, and conduct open minded discussions

Are Dreamers Ever Be Free
Will Dreamers ever be free? Tonight, in this room full of music s dreamers, we remember that this
country was made by dreamers, for dreamers, chasing the American dream, (Camilla Cabello,
Grammy Awards 2018) Many people, who come all corners of the world, long for the American
Dream we have talked about since we came to America. Nobody in this country was born here until
we found this country. Our founding fathers would have technically been a dreamer. It is wrong for the
United States to make some people, who are under the statue of DACA, leave when it was not their
choice to come here. Many of those people had came here when they were two years old, they
obviously did not know the consequences of coming to America. With these dreamers, the economy

The Red Guard Movement Essay
The cultural revolution is a strange period in Chinese history laced with intense struggle and anguish.
The cultural revolution mobilized the all of society to compete for all opposing factions that they
belonged to (Ong, 2016). Mao mobilized the young people of society during a background of political
turmoil, which helped Mao to mobilize the students in order to enforce his political legitimacy and
ideas (Ong, 2016). Mao s charismatic authority created his personality cult and most defiantly leant a
helping hand in mobilizing the red guard movement (Ong, 2016) (Weber, 1946) (Andreas, 2007). No
matter which faction of the red guard they belonged to, they all mobilized against their common
enemy; the better off, upper class. (Ong, 2016). Multiple ideologies within the youth led red guard
movement explain why the movement gained momentum and became incredibly powerful (Walder,
2009).
The red guard movement can be primarily explained two different theories. The first theory is the lack
of political cohesion and party factionalism among the elites starting during the Great Leap Forward,
which boiled into 100 Flowers Campaign and then subsequently the Cultural Revolution (Meisner,
1999). It is the battle between these elite factions and the prohibition of dissent which resulted in the
creation of the Red Guards, which in effect served as agent for the Maoist faction (Yang, 2000). The
second theory would be the breakdown of societal institutions, such as education, leading up to

Traditional Teaching Method
Abstract/ Purpose The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the traditional methods of teaching as well
as multimedia teaching and to suggest other useful teaching methods that can be attempted in
imparting knowledge to the students. Basically teaching must include two major components sending
and receiving information. Ultimately, a teacher tries his best to impart knowledge as the way he
understood it.
So, any communication methods that serve this purpose without destroying the objective could be
considered as innovative methods of teaching. The use of innovative methods in educational
institutions has the potential not only to improve education, but also to empower people, strengthen

III.Methodology
The traditional or innovative methods of teaching are critically examined, evaluated and some
modifications in the delivery of knowledge is suggested. As such, the strengths and weaknesses of
each teaching methodology are identified and probable modifications that can be included in
traditional methods are suggested.
IV. Traditional Teaching Method An evaluation
In the pre technology education context, the teacher is the sender or the source, the educational
material is the information or message, and the student is the receiver of the information. In terms of
the delivery medium, the educator can deliver the message via the chalk and talk method and overhead
projector (OHP) transparencies. This directed instruction model has its foundations embedded in the
behavioral learning perspective (Skinner, 1938) and it is a popular technique, which has been used for
decades as an educational strategy in all institutions of learning. Basically, the teacher controls the
instructional process, the content is delivered to the entire class and the teacher tends to emphasize
factual knowledge.

Similarities Between The Puritans And William Penn
Both the Puritans and William Penn Viewed their colonies as holy experiments . How did they differ?
Penn viewed his colony as a colony in which everyone was treated equally, including blacks, women
and the Native Americans. This was unlike the Puritans who believed in slave labor and that women
should not be able to conduct their own business(aside from being literal, holding public office or
voting). The quakers in Pennsylvania believed that everyone had the same rights and liberties, Foner

Humanism In Antigone
Over the centuries, the figure of Antigone has assumed the archetypal and iconographical martyred
champion of the oppressed thus been restaged and reworked into countless literary pieces. Through
Winston s performance as Antigone, Fugard is able project ideas of Western liberal humanism to an
apartheid ridden South Africa, constituting to a form of heroic resistance against racial oppression.
Fugard specifically focuses on The Trial and Punishment of Antigone scene where the play climaxes.
Through the use of metatheatre, he highlights the power of stage performance, in this case
demonstrating Winston s action in the play within a play has abilities to transcend through reality and
affect us, the audience. This is done by creating an intentional slippage between the division level of
reality, the stage and the stage on stage. By tearing off his wig and confronting the audience as
Winston, not Antigone he essentially blurs the boundary between actor and character, conversely the
boundary between stage and reality also disintegrates. The use of John and ... Show more content on

Her act of defying Creon by burring her brother is paralleled with Winston s defiance of the state and
rebellious act of resisting apartheid authority by burning his passbook. By openly committing his act

together. In Sophocles original work, Creon symbolise the state law and Antigone the will of the Gods,
underlining the fact that state law is not absolute, and can be broken through civil disobedience hence
suggesting there is a higher law of humanity. Thus, in the eyes of the higher law Winston s burning of
the passbook is justifiable. This can be extended to Fugard s work where apartheid authority is
represented through John s Creon and freedom and of human rights of Black Africans are echoed in
Antigone as evident in the final

  • 2. Native America s Endangered Language Summary Why Endangered Native Languages Must be Saved People without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots Marcus Garvey once said. Ellen L. Lutz article Saving America s Endangered Languages , she begins to talk about how the Native Americans language was stolen and needs to be brought back. She mainly focuses on the Navajo language. Her article is very intriguing and grabs the reader s attention as it continues with facts and evidence to back up how the Native American languages are being lost and stolen. However, she also talks about how she is in this group called Culture Survival and is promoting it so we don t forget about languages/cultures in the future. Lutz builds an argument to persuade the audience that Native American languages must be saved because, ... the government set up a system of boarding schools that punished Indians for speaking languages other than English... (Lutz). Domination in our government isn t a good thing at all. They may have passed the Native American Languages Act, but the funding isn t there to keep everything up and running. The Act is a federal policy to protect the Native American languages. The funding isn t there because the congress passed the Esther Martinez Native American Languages Act to give $10 million dollars to the tribes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With reasoning she provides many logical reasons on ways for us to believe/join the movement on saving endangered Native American languages. Across the country, where Native American children know their language, they are more likely to use their education and talents to enrich their communities (Lutz). The author utilizes inductive reasoning behind all of her reasoning methods and is very effective to almost everyone who reads this article. With that being said she also promotes her campaign to make all Native American languages in effective logic reasoning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Pope Francis Influence On Religion Pope Francis was influenced by the Theology of Liberation, by Gustavo Gutierrez, in his upbringing as a priest and that has inspired him to implement those ideas in his reign as a pope in becoming a more relatable figure of the Catholic Church for both Catholics and non Catholics. Liberation Theology was a movement started in Latin America by a Peruvian Priest named Gustavo Gutierrez, which supported the idea of interpreting the canon law of the Catholic Church for the perspective of the poor. This, however, went against the top down hierarchical structure of the Catholic Church. It was seen as a western grass roots movement to change the Church s way of functioning and was generally ignored. Pope Francis, however, was influenced by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The media loves this because they now have positive things to say about the Pope and Catholic Church that has been riddled with controversy after controversy beginning with the Vatican Leaks scandal. The media portrays him in a very positive light due to his liberal stances on controversial topics. However, they do not hesitate to point out that he is still indeed the Pope and the head of the Catholic Church and that no matter how cool he may come off, he still is in charge of a strict and regulated religious institution. In an article by Vox regarding the Pope s stance on Global warming, it was mentioned that he was deeply critical of both our technological mindset and modernity s utilitarian propensities. This means that even though he supports technology, he does not trust the way that people implement it into their daily lives. In another article by Vice, they write that while the pope may have a twitter, he has not watched television in 25 years. The media will show the pope in a positive light saying that he is at least trying to connect with the youth, as they are our future, but the media also tells us that we are not to be fooled. The Pope is still the head of the Catholic Church and will maintain to preach Catholic teachings; the only difference is that he is endorsing a more liberal approach to running the Catholic ... • 5. Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Essay Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing illustrates a kind of deliberately puzzling title that seems to have been popular in the late 1590s (ex quot;As You Like It quot;). Indeed, the play is about nothing; it follows the relationships of Claudio and Hero (which is constantly hampered by plots to disrupt it), and in the end, the play culminates in the two other main characters falling in love (Beatrice and Bena*censored*), which, because it was an event that was quite predictable, proves to be quot;much ado about nothing quot;. The pronunciation of the word nothing would, in the late 16th Century, have been noting, and so the title also apparently suggests a pun on the word, noting, and on the use of the word ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This attitude is reflected in Shakespeare s plays. For example, in Much Ado About Nothing, many f the characters have Italian names (Borachio, Claudio, etc.). This is also true of some of Shakespeare s others plays such as The Taming of the Shrew, and Romeo and Juliet. Major Themes One of the major themes in Much Ado About Nothing centers around the question and battle between deception and reality. One first notices of the image of deception as we witness the masking and unmasking at the masquerade. In the play, most overhear discussions are deceptions. It is through eavesdropping that we see the true battle between deception and reality as we look at the subplots of Bene*censored* and Beatrice, Hero and Claudio, as well as the comedy of Dogberry and his crew. The relationship between Bene*censored* and Beatrice is one manufactured completely through deception on the behalf of their friends. Though the plot to unite them was planned, many of the problems that arose were because of things that were overheard accidentally or on purpose. In Act II, Scene 3 Bene*censored* is deceived into thinking that Beatrice loves him because of the speech in the garden between Leonato, Claudio, and Don Pedro. Beatrice is sent to fetch Bene*censored* for dinner, and Bene*censored* notes some marks of love in her[Beatrice], (240 241) and he decides to take pity upon her and return her love. • 6. The Illusion that Money Brings Happiness Some would say we are slaves to our primal urges, shackled in our endless pursuit of gratification and shaping our very existence around them. We gravitate towards the things in life that bring us pleasure, and recoil from those that cause us pain. People always show a feeling of wanting everything their way, as to wanting something. Just like everything else there are always limits. In order to obtain these things that people believe will bring them happiness, many go over the line. Many believe that with money they can have anything they desire. Though it may be true to an extent, sometimes the desires eventually turn into greed and people lose some of the most valuable things life has to offer. Focusing on the illusion that money brings happiness may have an unexpected turn later down the road. For instance, when someone reflects on how money would change their sense of well being, they would probably think about spending more time in leisurely pursuits such as traveling abroad. But in reality, they would have to spend a large amount of time working and less time engaged in experienced happiness. Robert H. Frank says in his book Luxury Fever: Money and Happiness in an Era of Excess: Even among those who can easily afford today s luxury offerings, there has been a price to pay. All of us rich and poor alike, but especially the rich are spending more time at the office and taking shorter vacations; we are spending less time with our families and friends; and we have ... The soldiers involved were all reserve soldiers who were not prepared or trained for this mission. They were asked to interrogate the detainees take the gloves off to extract information out of them. The soldiers were pressured into crossing the line to gain information by the centre intelligence agency, tier 1A was known as the interrogation hold. One detained was mentally ill, he covered himself in faeces every day, the soldiers would have to role him in sand so he wouldn t smell so bad and they named him Shitboy . What was he doing in an interrogation hold? This is one example that shows the level of humiliation and dehumanisation that went on. You had to believe other stories, but then I don t know if anyone would believe anything good of me anyway, Billy the Kid. Although many people believe Billy the kid was a bad person, there are many stories of Billy that make him seem like a carefree and funny person. Billy the Kid had to overcome lots of obstacles in his life and those hardships are what made him a bad person. Billy s real name was Henry McCarty,he was also known as William H. Bonney (2 Billy ). Many rumors have been stated about Billy the Kid for years, but what is the real life of Billy the Kid? When Billy was still a child his mother remarried a guy named William Antrim but she shortly died of Tuberculosis. Antrim didn t want the burden of raising two small boys, so he separated them and placed them in foster homes (Brothers). At the age of 14, the smooth cheeked, blue eyed McCarty was forced to find work in a hotel, washing and waiting tables at the restaurant ( Old ). • 9. Comparing Epic Of Gilgamesh And Ecclesiastes From The... The specific works of The Epic of Gilgamesh and the book of Ecclesiastes from the Hebrew Bible disagree as to whether immortality is attainable whether it is limited to humans only, and whether other elements may also benefit. (souls, deeds, etc.). The meaning of Immortality implies a never ending existence, regardless of whether the body dies or not. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh was in search of immortality. However, he may have found a different meaning to immortality. The Search for Immortality in the Epic of Gilgamesh Ecclesiastes from the Hebrew Bible are two works in search of Immortality. The Epic of Gilgamesh and Ecclesiastes from the Hebrew Bible are great examples of literary works with far more complex meaning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both works there is a Supreme being and a being that has come to the realization that the inhabitants of earth were wicked. Therefore, God in his infinite wisdom destroyed the earth with a flood. However, In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the gods influenced by Enlil were counseled to make the decision to destroy the earth. In the Hebrew Bible, the story of Noah was mentioned briefly detailing God s punishment on all living creatures for their bitterness correlates in The Epic of Gilgamesh in several ways. Even though these literary works are passed on orally at contrasting times in history the correlations implore deliberation when these stories are compared. Numerous themes are illustrated throughout each story. Humans were found guilty of moral violation and were sentenced by God with flood as punishment to destroy this immoral behavior. An investigation of the inconsistency and similarities of both flood stories exposes the relationship between the Gods and the story s hero, insight on each culture moral perspective on friendship and values as it applies to the flood, and each story s common ... • 10. Physical Exertion Of The Body In recent years, sedentary has become an increasingly popular term, being used to define a being adopting an inactive lifestyle with potentially health suffering consequences. Its use has been predominantly heard by health professionals and the government in the hope to abolish this behaviour and restore the health (the state of complete mental, physical and social wellbeing, not merely the absence of illness) (WHO, 2003) of members of society labelled with this tag who are suffering from sedentary related conditions that potentially require expensive treatment or hospital admission. The aim is to implement exercise (physical exertion of the body resulting in healthier physical fitness) (Medical News Today, 2014) targeting several less active sociological groups through means of initiatives and renovated access to facilities. Previously, exercise was only referred to at the elite standard. Those that competed in chosen fields of sport were known to undertake regular exercise to improve the areas of the body that mostly concerned them. Groups of people that fell outside of this small category were not considered physically active in the same sense, but they were still regarded fit. Several sedentary related conditions were not as prevalent in these times as they are now, for example, less people were obese, coronary heart disease was rarer and depression was less common. One statistic stated that the prevalence of obesity in England has more than doubled in the last ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. US Income Tax Case Study The United States enacted IRC 385 in 1969, which gave tax authorities the power to determine if intercompany loans were, in substance, equity investments. The tax authorities believed then that characterising intercompany loans as equity would resolve the thin capitalisation issue. If the IRS could deem intercompany loans to be investments, it could treat the interest payments as dividends, which are not tax deductible. However, the tax authorities eventually determined these tools were inadequate. In 1989, Congress enacted (IRC) section 163(j) to address the concern of US earnings being stripped out in the form of interest payments on debt by a U.S. subsidiary to its foreign parent company. The concern was that the U.S. subsidiary would receive a U.S. tax deduction that reduces its U.S. taxable income while the interest paid to the foreign based parent corporation may not be subject to U.S. withholding tax (or subject to a reduced rate) under various income tax treaties. Reflecting upon Olympia and Delphi, it is possible to highlight both similarities and differences between the two sanctuaries. In examining the location and the main attributes of each sanctuary, it is clear how they differ and how they are comparable in various ways. Whilst they clearly differ in their geographical situation, they are similar in that they both host their own games. However it is what occurs in these games that distinguish between the two. The hellanodikai, on the left of the vase, wears a robe, which would have been purple, and a crown to signify his more honourable roll. The five days of the Olympics each had their own special event; the first included the athletes and hellanodikai swearing an oath of honesty and sportsmanship before the statue of Zeus, an unbreakable promise. The second day hosted the horse races and the pentathlon, consisting of discus, the long jump, javelin, running and wrestling, all went on in one afternoon. The third day saw a more religious side to the Olympics; rites for the hero Pelops were given, a procession of all participants, hellanodikai and ambassadors of the different cities took place, and a sacrifice of a hundred cows was given to Zeus. The fourth day was for the running and combat sports, including wrestling, boxing and pankration, which was a sport that combined both the rules of wrestling and boxing. It shows how the circus treated the elephant if the elephant does not follow orders. Most circuses have elephants because they are the common animals in the circus which brings PETA to interview a former elephant keeper. Another former circus employee PETA interviews is Archele Hundley. She worked with Ringling Bros. as an animal trainer and quit after claiming to know what the animals go through with trainers. Hundley said, Ringling Bros. believes that if they can keep these animals afraid, they can keep them submissive. The circus harms the animals to help itself. Providing information from former employees gives credibility to PETA to tell the audience that the circus abused its animals. PETA is effective in many ways, although it s unreasonable by being unfair with involving an undercover investigation. In being unfair, Video footage shot during a PETA undercover investigation of Carson Barnes Circus showed Carson Barnes animal care director, Tim Frisco, as he viciously attacked, yelled and cursed at, and shocked endangered Asian elephants. Vincent Willem van Gogh (March 1853 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far reaching influence on 20th century art. After years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound, generally accepted to be self inflicted (although no gun was ever found). Starry Night is one of the most well known images in modern culture as well as being one of the most replicated and sought after prints. One may begin to ask what features within the painting are responsible for its ever growing popularity. There are actually several main aspects that intrigue those. Firstly here is the night sky filled with swirling clouds, stars ablaze with their own luminescence, and a bright crescent moon. Although the features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel comfortable and at ease with. This sky keeps the viewer s eyes moving about the painting, following the curves and creating a visual dot to dot with the stars. This movement keeps the onlooker involved in the painting while the other factors take hold.Secondly below the rolling hills of the horizon lies a small town. • 21. Network Bandwidth And Data Upload Time Though client side deduplication brings in advantages such as reduction of network bandwidth and data upload time, several security threats are associated with it. These threats have to be addressed in order to reap the full potential of client side deduplication. Halevi et al. [3] identified various threats that affect a remote storage system that implements client side deduplication. First, in traditional storage systems, privacy and confidentiality are compromised when an attacker learns the hash value of a file and gains access to the entire file from the server. For example, Dropbox uses Secure Hash Algorithm 256 (SHA256) in a straightforward manner; thus, it is possible for an attacker to obtain hashes for confidential files of others. Using the hash, a hacker can easily download an unauthorized file from the server. A practical way for performing this hack is demonstrated by the use of Dropship application programming interface (API) utilities for Dropbox which allows a hacker to download confidential files of others from Dropbox servers by obtaining the file hashes. This is comparatively easy to obtain, and exploiting the weak client side deduplication technique that is applied [4]. Second, if an attacker can access the server cache then all confidential hashes will be disclosed. Hence the attacker can make the cloud storage service behave as a content distribution network (CDN) by publishing the hacked hash values. In a case where the files hashes are published ... • 31. The Red Guard Movement Essay The cultural revolution is a strange period in Chinese history laced with intense struggle and anguish. The cultural revolution mobilized the all of society to compete for all opposing factions that they belonged to (Ong, 2016). Mao mobilized the young people of society during a background of political turmoil, which helped Mao to mobilize the students in order to enforce his political legitimacy and ideas (Ong, 2016). Mao s charismatic authority created his personality cult and most defiantly leant a helping hand in mobilizing the red guard movement (Ong, 2016) (Weber, 1946) (Andreas, 2007). No matter which faction of the red guard they belonged to, they all mobilized against their common enemy; the better off, upper class. (Ong, 2016). Multiple ideologies within the youth led red guard movement explain why the movement gained momentum and became incredibly powerful (Walder, 2009). The first theory is the lack of political cohesion and party factionalism among the elites starting during the Great Leap Forward, which boiled into 100 Flowers Campaign and then subsequently the Cultural Revolution (Meisner, 1999). It is the battle between these elite factions and the prohibition of dissent which resulted in the creation of the Red Guards, which in effect served as agent for the Maoist faction (Yang, 2000). The second theory would be the breakdown of societal institutions, such as education, leading up to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Similarities Between The Puritans And William Penn Both the Puritans and William Penn Viewed their colonies as holy experiments . How did they differ? Penn viewed his colony as a colony in which everyone was treated equally, including blacks, women and the Native Americans. This was unlike the Puritans who believed in slave labor and that women should not be able to conduct their own business(aside from being literal, holding public office or voting). The quakers in Pennsylvania believed that everyone had the same rights and liberties, Foner writes, To Quakers, liberty was a universal entitlement, not the possession of any single people a position that would eventually make them the first group of whites to repudiate slavery. Humanism In Antigone Over the centuries, the figure of Antigone has assumed the archetypal and iconographical martyred champion of the oppressed thus been restaged and reworked into countless literary pieces. Fugard specifically focuses on The Trial and Punishment of Antigone scene where the play climaxes. Through the use of metatheatre, he highlights the power of stage performance, in this case demonstrating Winston s action in the play within a play has abilities to transcend through reality and affect us, the audience. This is done by creating an intentional slippage between the division level of reality, the stage and the stage on stage. In Sophocles original work, Creon symbolise the state law and Antigone the will of the Gods, underlining the fact that state law is not absolute, and can be broken through civil disobedience hence suggesting there is a higher law of humanity. Thus, in the eyes of the higher law Winston s burning of the passbook is justifiable.
