I arrive to the coliseum around 7:05. I truly didn t know what to expect from this event. From the
name of it, I was thinking along of the lines of a religious event. But Fall Convocation was in fact

The emancipation of slaves in the southern US and the after effects of the Civil War caused General
Sherman to, in January 1865, issue Special Field Order Number 15. Thousands of former slaves were
basically refugees, having no jobs, homes or property. Many slaves thought erroneously that after they
were freed they would be given the land on which they worked. This didn t happen and they were
turned out on their own. Order Number 15 was issued as a response to the refugee/slave issue.
400,000 acres along the South Carolina, Georgia and Florida coasts was set aside to be given to

The long awaited fifth birthday had finally arrived, the cake was yellow, the new bicycle was white
with yellow details including a banana shaped seat, tassels, and a horn. Saved for last was a beautiful,

Boycott Disinvestment and Sanction (BDS), which occurred in the Student s Society of McGill
University (SSMU), at the General Assembly (GA) in Montreal, Canada.
Jewish student leader, Noah Lew was nominated for a position in SSMU was rejected in a vote at the
GA. According to the SSMU President, 160 people voted no to a director only because he was Jewish
. It was also stated that two non Jewish students who have opposed BDS on campus or have been
involved in other pro Israel student groups were also similarly rejected.
According to National Post, the vote went 105 against, with 73 in favor and 12 abstaining.
