Schools Innovation Projects Initiative
The Schools Innovation Projects Initiative (SIPI) promotes research and fosters understanding of how new
technologies support academic excellence and student success. SIPI leverages a “network of networks”,
including tools and practices that will collaboratively increase efficiency and capacity for high-quality
learning engagement.

2. The Learning Futures Network aims to create the social infrastructure, resources and context to develop more authentic
and future-aware processes to support transformation and collaboration across student learning, school and staff
development, and connections between and across higher education, industry, cultural and community organisations and
the public sector.
The Learning Futures Network is a network of
forward-thinking organisations, of both school and
non-schools, whose thought leaders who are working
together to:
• Improve outcomes for students and solving the
challenges facing a future of life-long learning;
• Use their collective voice to advance positive
change across all sectors of education;
• Collaborate with businesses, community,
government, entrepreneurs, researchers, and
leading education thinkers and to advocate, test
and assess new future-focussed approaches to

5. • Curtin University, in collaboration with the Innovative Schools Consortium and the Learning Futures Network
have endorsed projects that will:
• Enhance teaching and learning by providing scalable, affordable, innovative, and flexible education in a full
range of instructional formats;
• Develop instructional talent by creating and supporting communities of practice across disciplines and
institutions;
• Support, monitor and embrace research on pedagogical practices to continually improve the instructional
practices of all member organisations;
• Extend teaching and learning environments to provide new avenues for development and delivery of
collaborative content, courses, and programs in Western Australia, Australia, and across the globe through
Curtin Challenge, edX, and other learning engagement channels
• Align with the five priorities of:
• Future Readiness;
• Innovation & Entrepreneurship;
• Individualized Education;
• Sustainability; and
• Partnerships.
• Support inclusive excellence and post traditional learners to have “Transformational Impact” across all
sectors and contexts for lifelong learning (K-12, TAFE, Higher Ed, Corporate, Personal learning)

learning.

SHARED AUTHORSHIP OF A PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE REPORT
A complete copy of the reports will be published with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and
made available for Open Access via eSpace, Curtin University’s Institutional Repository.
The report will be citable and released under a Creative Commons license.
