Importance Of Nature In Poetry
In poetry, poets use nature as a reference to reveal something important and make a statement. There
are three poems I chose to write about and explain the importance of nature as a setting. The three
poems are I wandered lonely as a cloud by William Wordsworth, Birches by Robert Frost, and The
Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Berry. In these three poems, the poet uses nature as a setting to
make a statement about an important idea. The first poem, I wandered lonely as a cloud by William
Wordsworth is about the speaker imagining himself as if he was floating around like a cloud above all
the beauties of nature, seeing all the trees and flowers dance in the breeze. He values being able to
enjoy the beauty of nature and everything it has to offer. The poet uses his thoughts and memories of
nature to go to a simple, delightful place when he is feeling lonely and bored. Wordsworth says, In
vacant or in pensive mood, they flash upon my inward eye. He can just sit and think about how
wonderful nature is and how it creates a simple peaceful moment. In this poem, the speaker reveals
that he may have enjoyed just floating through life enjoying the small things. The crowd of daffodils
could represent a crowd of people wandering around with a purpose for something. However, the
speaker is wandering around thinking about nature and values the beauty of it. Wordsworth uses
nature in his poem to reveal a memory and a feeling. He uses nature to express the simplicity of life,

The Importance Of Bully On Body Weight
In today s society women and girls are pressure to worry about their body sizes. Females think they
have to be petite. Women and girls should not have to be pressured about their body weight. The
pressure about their body weight comes from either girls are getting bullied about their size , trying to
fit in , or even think their weight isn t good enough for an relationship. Women need to stop pressuring
their self about their body size and just be happy. Always remember beauty come in any size and
form. This generation is cruel and evil , everyone looks down on each other instead of bring each other
up and being friendly to one another. Havin a perfect body for womens is a huge example of this
world being cruel and evil. Women are often bullied for not having a perfect body . Nowadays if your
not a size 0 , you are to big. Body hatred and women verbally bullying one another are tied together.
Culture stigmatizes women who do not meet raditional standards of beauty and , too often, women use
this unforgiving reality to harshly judge one another as a mean gain leverage and power ( When
women). This illustrates how women bully one another with body hatred. Women like to have power
over each other so by saying rude harsh words about body weight they feel as if they have power over
one another . Talking down on someone isn t power it s cruel and evil. Women have to realize that
word can hurt ;however, women need to bring one another up and compliment their weight not

Mikey s Speech On Free Community College
The deeply researched public policy speeches were better than I anticipated. I thought that more
people would have relied on their outline. Most of them looked out at the audience rather than at their
outline. I think that people were less nervous and more prepared this round of speeches.
There were many good central messages with these speeches. One of the speeches that had the best
central message were Mikey s speech. I like how he did his on something very recent, which was the
apple verses FBI case. I liked his because he went in to much detail about it. I also enjoyed Jessica s
central message. I liked that she did hers on a subject that she cares about a lot, which was about the
common core. I feel that she got her message out very well. I feel the same with Nick s speech on free
community college. I feel that he also got his point out very well. ... Show more content on

The visual aids that people used were very helpful in understanding the topic. Mikey s PowerPoint
was a good example of this. He used many pictures to bring humor to the situation. I think that that
was very creative and it was fun to watch and hear about his topic. I found Mike s speech to be very
creative. This is because even though some of his presentation was very graphic I think that was
creative that he used what he did. By doing this, he got everyone s attention.
The delivery and flow of all the speeches were great because so many people were upbeat. One of the
speeches that flowed the best was Mikey s speech because he spiced up his speech, which made me
want to actually hear his speech. Another speech that I felt flowed well and was upbeat was Anthony s
speech on supplements. I think that his was very upbeat because he was not nervous. Another speech
that I thought was very outgoing and energetic was Kylie speech on invasive species. I think that she
was upbeat because she was prepared for it. In addition, she was not very nervous

Supermarket discounts: do they offer genuine benefits or are they buying traps 1.1. Introduction
Generally speaking, people believe a discount in the supermarket is something that will help to save
their money and which is a profits sharing activity of supermarket company. However, less people

1.3.4. Are customers influenced by sales promotion activity, and if so ,will they change their initial
options?
1.3.5. What do customers feel when they choose items for discount but not their original choices,
satisfied or not satisfied?
In addition, the research will seek to identify that consumers made purchase decision due to the
psychological change or based on their sane thinking and to provide rational suggestions to consumers
when they are choosing items for sales, and to provide a means to identify the real value of many
kinds of discount. 2. Literature 2.1 Review of the relevant literature
There is a large amount of literature about the pricing strategy or consumers behaviour for different
sales promotion but there is surprisingly little research about the contributing factors that prompt
customers buying behaviour. However by analysing consumers reaction to sales promotions, we can
determine whether customers make their purchasing decisions based on internal or external factors.
The internal factors would be customers initial needs, while external factors would include the
influence of promotion advertising.
The retail industry increasingly used sales promotions (Felgate et al. 2012). Previous research
(e.g.Webster 1971; Kotler 1988; Blattberg amp; Neslin 1990) sees sales promotion as a method that
directly or indirectly influences customers purchasing

Human Development and the Importance of Wind Energy...
Human Development and the Importance of Wind Energy Conversion
For human development to continue, we will ultimately need to find sources of renewable or virtually
inexhaustible energy. It s difficult to imagine this, but even if we find several hundred or even
thousand years of coal and natural gas supplies, what will humans do for the next 250,000 years or so
after they are depleted? Even the most apparently inexhaustible sources like fusion involve the
generation of large amounts of waste heat enough to place damaging stress on even a robust
ecosystem like Earth s, at least for the organisms that depend upon stability of the system to survive.
We are engaged in a sort of world wide biological experiment, with our descendents ... Show more

We are blissfully sedated by low conventional energy prices and are gulping down the few remaining
years of cheap natural gas and Mid East oil. As we do this, the inertia of global warming is inexorably
building.
What drives the continued development of mechanical devices like wind turbines in the face of this
widespread lack of support? In the case of wind turbine technology, I suspect that part of the reason
for persistence of this vision is how accessible wind turbines are to the understanding. They are
personal in a way that almost no other form of power generation is.
This personal scale has been both the blessing and the curse of wind power development. The field
tends to attract people who are committed, creative, and passionate. It also attracts a few people who
are a little too much of all of those things, to the point that sometimes the grounding of reality is lost.
Both of these tendencies will be evident in this brief history of wind power development. Wind power
will probably succeed or fail based on the ability or inability of its proponents to bank the fires of
Romance and focus on defining wind generation s role as a practical alternative to conventional
generation sources.
Wind energy conversion is a fascinating field to study, if only because its past has been so checkered
and its exact future is so uncertain. Unlike the aerospace industry, the computer industry, and almost
any other successful industry you can name, wind energy the

The Mexican War Of Mexico
The Mexican War
Starting in 1845 and concluding in 1850 with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was the era where the
Mexican war occurred. This war had triggers with disagreements on the ideal of Manifest Destiny and
major actions by President Polk that led the United States into attempting to annex Texas. Texas at that
time was independent and was not part of Mexico nor America. Mexico wanted Texas to stay neutral
that they threatened a war to the United States if they tried anything to attempt anything.
Unfortunately, the United States did not really care by going forward with the annexation and land
conquering, sparking a war with Mexico. So the Mexican war began and nothing was ever the same.
The annexation of Texas was the biggest reason as to what started the tension and the foreseen war
between Mexico and the United States. When Texas gained its independence from Mexico, the United
States considered it as open land where as Mexico thought of it as its own. It started with President
Tyler, who did not want Britain to gain Texas, therefore proposed an annexation. Not only would the
gain of Texas add more land to the United States, but the south wanted it as well because it would be
considered as another slave state. Mexico threatened war if Texas was annexed but once part of it was
they did nothing about it, leaving tension between the United States and Mexico. Everyone has the
right to negotiate, but coming up with an agreement between Mexico and the United

Paulo Freire
In novel, chapter 2 of Pedagogy of The Oppressed written by Paulo Freire we are introduced to two
educational concepts. Freire refers to the concepts as the banking concept and problem posing
concept. The banking concept is the assumption that the teacher controls and fills students with
selected information. Freire believes It is the people themselves who are filled away through lack of
creativity, transformation, and knowledge in this misguided system (Freire 1). On the other hand
Freire believes that the soulution to the education system is problem posing. This concept encourgaes
student dialogue, creativity, and discovery. Meaning that the student is free and in control of his
education. I believe Freire decribition of the banking concept is unconsintent. A teacher goal is not to
control and fill students with memorization. Instead, the goal is to expand a student mind with critical
information that sometimes needs memorization such as math equations, history, science, and
vocabulary.

Fibreglass Vs Mass Loaded Vinyl
Sound Insulation Materials: Fibreglass vs Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV)
Background Science
Sound
The sound waves that we encounter in our daily lives exist as pressure vibrations in the air, water, and
solid mediums that they travel through dissipating and becoming weaker as the displacement from the
initial source increases. As sound is transmitted in the form of a travelling wave, the pressure varies
and is dependent on both the displacement and time passed from its emission, according to the
following equation: y=Asin 2π/λ(x vt)
Where A is the amplitude, λ is the wavelength, v is the wave speed, t is the time elapsed, and (x,y) is
the displacement of the wave.
Just like any type of wave, sound waves transmit energy of a magnitude proportional to the square of
the wave s amplitude (E=kA^2). This can mean large amounts of high amplitude sound waves cause
significant destruction, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is increasingly prevalent as our cities become ever more densely populated and built up. To try
and reduce this disruption and isolate the sound inside or out of different spaces, acoustic insulation
can be used often labelled soundproofing. There are several different types, each with the common
aim to decrease the sound pressure level in certain different spaces. Many techniques, such as
damping, reflection, diffusion and cancellation, can all be used to achieve this.
Damping is the reduction of any resonance in a room, through the absorption of either the acoustic
resonance in the air or mechanical resonance in the room s structure. As friction and interference
exists on the boundaries between air and solids, materials with a high surface area exposed can be
used to absorb acoustic resonance, and this resistance dampens the sound pressure. A possible
example of this is foam or any spongy material, as they contain a high surface area compared to a flat
surfaced

Marjane Satrapi s The Socks
In the selection The Socks by Marjane Satrapi, the author addresses her previous experience with
moving back to Tehran, Iran. Satrapi faced a culture shock due to her Europeanized lifestyle that
conflicted with the traditional conservative Islamic nature of Iran.
The author was forced to abide by standards she did not agree with, which caused her to live a binary
lifestyle in public and private. Our behavior in public and our behaviour in private were polar
opposites. (266) Being a young, innovative female in her distinct surroundings, it formed multiple
opportunity for opposition and disobedience. Our struggle was more discreet. It hinged on the little
details. (263) Satrapi yearned for freedom and made it her objective to achieve even a sliver of it. ...

author s emotional being.
Acceptance of the new life the author was trying to bring forth along with the other young girls was
widely shamed in Iran. Although the girls along with a few others had similar mindsets and beliefs,
overall it was a shamed lifestyle. The more time passed, the more I became conscious of the contrast

Looking Into the Past in Vonnegut s Slaughter House Five
In the spring of 1945, near the end of World War II, American and British bombers rained a hail of fire
upon the city of Dresden, Germany. With an estimated 135,000 dead, Dresden is known as one of the
deadliest attacks in History, nearly twice as many deaths than the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Kurt
Vonnegut was among the few who lived through the firestorm; he wrote a book about it in fact.
Slaughter House Five (1969) is a fictional recount of his experience of the war. Many of the events (at
least the parts set in WWII) are real experiences of Kurt. The people in the war are, for the most part,
real; Vonnegut just changes all the names. The main character, however does not ... Show more

This isn t Billy s first travel through time, just the most important. Back in Germany, the American
troops arrive at what will be their lodging for the next few days. The Americans eventually move to a
prison in Dresden. They are put to work, going on with their prisoner lives in what some seems to be a
peaceful German city during the war. Of course, there is no surprise when the sirens shriek and planes
fly by, dropping their deadly arsenal on the city below. Billy and a few other men live through the
bombing and find the city as desolate as the moon.
Slaughter House Five is obviously an anti war book, but there s more to it than that. Vonnegut believes
that the human trait of looking back can make us aware of our problems (such as war) and, hopefully,
be able to fix them in the future.
From the beginning to the end, Billy never stops time traveling. He travels to times ranging from his
childhood to his death and back again. Billy s time travels aren t like time travel that you normally
think of, with the time machines and the parallel time lines (think Back to the Future: Part Two.)
When Billy travels through time, he just starts living different parts of his life. Everyone in their mind
looks back at the past, and goes over and over and over mistakes that they made or traumatic events
that occurred in their life. For some people, these moments in their minds can be as real as if they
were living them over again,

Example Of Defense Mechanisms
Defense Mechanism Defense mechanisms are operated unconsciously without us knowing. There are
8 different defense mechanisms. We use these mechanisms daily but probably do not even realize we
do. These defense mechanisms include repression, denial, reaction, projection, regression,
rationalization, displacement, and sublimation. I have interviewed my boyfriend and along with
myself to identify some of these defense mechanisms. The four different defense mechanisms I have
used in my life is denial, regression, displacement, and rationalization. The first one I have used is
denial. This is a mechanism that I seem to find myself using very often in my life. According to Freud
in Theories of Personality by Schultz, denial is a defense mechanism that involves denying the
existence of an external threat or traumatic event. (Schultz 50) An example of myself using the denial
mechanism is a traumatic event that I remember very clearly. It was December 7th, 2016 around 8:00
pm, I was sitting in my living room watching television with my boyfriend. I just so happened to be
scrolling on Facebook on my phone when I saw all these strange posts on my cousins James s

Catawba River Basin
What is a river basin? A river basin is an area of land that water flows across or under to make it s way
to a river. Just like a bathtub, it catches all the water that falls within its sides, and its sends all falling
water to a central river or to its estuary. It drains all of the land around a major river. There basins can
be divided into watersheds, or areas of land around a smaller river, stream, or lake. North Carolina is
made up of many watershed that are connected to each other. In each watershed, all water flows to
lowest point, to a stream, lake, river, or ocean. Everyone lives in a river basin and the actions you

Patient Violence Towards Nursing Personnel
Violence in all its forms has increased dramatically worldwide in recent decades (Balamurugan, Jose
Nandakumar, 2012). According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) report,
nearly two million American workers report having been victims of workplace violence each year
(2011). Among those at highest risks for violence in the healthcare setting are nurses, social workers
and psychiatric evaluators (OSHA, 2011). In the healthcare setting, physical assault is almost
exclusively committed by patients (Balamurugan et al., 2012). Moreover, nurses have the highest rate
of violent attacks out of all healthcare workers (Howerton Child Mentes, 2010); the main reason being
that nurses are alongside the patients 24 hours a day, are usually the most available caretakers and are
the frontline staff members dealing with patients and their relatives whereas psychiatrists, social
workers and other healthcare providers only visit from time to time (Yarovitsky Tabak, 2009; Rowe,
2012; ALBashtaway, 2013).
Nurses are frequently reluctant to report violence for different reasons, including fear of getting
blamed for having provoked the incidents and labeled as troublemakers, retaliation by employers,
concern about their competence being questioned, assumption that violence is just an occupational
hazard, and misconception that only visible physical injuries are reportable (Rowe, 2012). Worker risk
factors for workplace violence include gender, age, years of

Sylvia Plath Poetry Style Analysis
Sylvia Plath: Joie de Vivre Perhaps some day I ll crawl back home, beaten, defeated. But not as long
as I can make stories out of my heartbreak, beauty out of sorrow, wrote Sylvia Plath in her journals,
unpublished until nineteen years following her death. The relevance between the American author s
life and the inspiration of her literary works cannot be disputed. She wrote about distinct experiences,
from the death of her father at a young age to the depression she fell into after her husband left her.
Plath, burdened with hardship, turned her pain into numerous influential poems and a semi
autobiographical novel, The Bell Jar. She received the honors of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry and the
Glascock Prize as recognition of her works. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As described previously, Daddy combines specific details of Plath s life and her father s, making
comparisons as brutal as to the Holocaust in their own home, and comparing him to the devil. In
Daddy she wrote that he, Bit my pretty red heart in two. / I was ten when they buried you. / At twenty
I tried to die / And get back, back, back to you. / I thought even the bones would do. / But they pulled
me out of the sack, / And they stuck me together with glue. Each line written describes specific events
in her life, and it could not be clearer. This one of sixteen stanzas is exactly related to the events in her
life, yet also provides insight into her own thoughts on herself. In Ariel, plath wrote of being suicidal,
thus describing her life as she attempted suicide many different times and was successful in 1963
when she killed herself ( Sylvia Plath. Biography).
As much as one could continue connecting Sylvia Plath s life and work based on simple life details,
why she wrote about her life is far more compelling. She was said to have wanted to understand her
own mind, the mind that doctors seemed to understand better than herself. Plath also wrote certain
works intending her family never read them, stating that she did not want her mother to read The Bell
Jar because it was indicative of her suicidal thoughts. Sylvia Plath made

Laura Koller s Spring Wedding
Spring Wedding
In my senior project, Laura Koller s wedding meant so much for me to be able to be a part of putting
my creativity into her wedding. I want Laura to have the best wedding with the most amazing flowers
she choose and to not worry about having the flowers not being the way she wants them to be. When
Laura s wedding caught my attention, I felt honor to be able to be part in the next step in someone s
lifetime. In this project, I ll talk about the history of weddings, the flowers that were used, the creation
and the packing up.
The flowers or herbs were used in historical weddings since the beginning of time to show a way of
love and well wishes to everyone. The first use of wedding flowers were the ancient Greeks. The
flowers or plants were used to make a crown for the bride to wear and was a gift of nature. The
bridesmaids would have floral decorations which were garlands, bridal bouquets and boutonnieres.
Mostly the bridesmaids were to make a poesies, to make, for each guest to wear as a symbol of saying
thanks. Over time, the flowers and their meanings stayed the same but the herbs lost their place in
modern North American weddings. Some of the cultures and religions have intertwine herbs with
flowers to celebrate the marriage with a gift of nature. Leading up to and during the Middle Ages,
weddings were considered as a family and community affairs. The only main thing about a wedding
was for both partners to state a consent to take one of them as a spouse.

community under one government. ISIS has not only gained territory in Syria, Iraq and Istanbul but
according to New York Times columnist, Tim Arango, ISIS is building a capacity to govern. In 2014,
ISIS formally informed the world on their establishment of a caliphate. This caliphate is governed
under Islamic beliefs and rulers. They have begun issuing identification cards for residents,
promulgating fishing guidelines to preserve stocks, and requiring that cars carry tool kits for
emergencies (Arango). Believe it or not, ISIS has been a state for two years, regardless of their lack of
legitimacy, their consistent threat of violence against any of those who oppose their beliefs allows
them not only to get things done, but get them done efficiently. Whether we want to accept it, ISIS is a
state, and we need to treat it as such.
On the 29th of June in 2014, ISIS announced that a caliphate has been establish and the caliph was to
be Caliph Ibrahim. The saying goes, In order to kill a snake, one must cut off its head. The head of
ISIS is the caliphate in Iraq/Syria. I believe that collapsing the caliphate will collapse the organization.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your

Zopicmo Essay
Recently I identified an area of our medication policy that required some improvement due to the way
that the list of medications were deemed as controlled medications and was such a comprehensive list
that included medications that we do not use at our service along with medications that are deemed
controlled by our own policies but not by government which then became restrictive to what time a
service user could take their medication.
The medication in question is named zopiclone and it is used to treat individuals who are completing
opiate detox to support with sleep. The new policy stated that this should be dispensed at 9pm and that
the client was then required to go to bed which, for someone who was completing an opiate detox is ...

As above and described in 5.3, on the back of the areas that were identified within the new medication
policy and dispensing procedures I arranged a telephone conference with our head of quality
department and some other managers from our other residential services to discuss the concerns that I
had identified after reviewing the medication policy.
After lengthy discussions about the areas of concern and the potential risks that these presented both
to staff and service users from a physical, mental and emotional perspective it was agreed that
zopiclone was no longer to be classed as a controlled medication and that the service user could take
this at a time of their choosing at night providing it was before the night worker finished dispensing
medication which was usually about 111pm and agreed that the service user would need to go to bed
within 15 minutes of taking this medication due to having a short timeframe of about 15 30 minutes
where it is effective. It was also agreed that the service user would also be advised of this information
to ensure that this is supportive to them through a physically difficult period whilst completing a
detox.
In regards to the medication paperwork for PRN medication it was agreed that we would use our old
medication dispensing form for PRN (when required) medications as this allowed staff to record the
date, time and reason as to why the

Contributions to America Essay
Contributions to America Early American society was comprised of many different elements. The
biggest contributions to the society was the American Indians,
Africans, and, of course, the English, the biggest of the three. Their relationship together was far
different than what we have today. You wouldn t just see some African and view him as just another
American. It also didn t have a triangular connection, where everyone interacted in some way with
everyone else. Instead it was more along the lines of the Africans relationship with the English, and
the Indians relationship with the English, not the Africans and Indians relationship together. To take a
closer look at this we need to first look at each people separately. Native Americans ... Show more

They were both hierarchical, but they their nature differed considerably. The English s hierarchy was
inherited through their father. But the authority of the some of the Indian leaders rested on consensus.
So when the English tried to negotiate treaties,
they overestimated to ability of chiefs to make independent decisions for their people. They also had
different views on the holdings of land. The Indian believed that know one owned the land, it was just
for everyone to work on. The English, however, was the exact opposite.
They insisted on having their own farms, and buying and selling land. Basically, above all, the English
settlers believed unwaveringly in the superiority of their civilization.
Because of this belief of superiority, the English settlers felt that they could do anything they wanted
to the land or the inferior Indians on it. They expanded and expanded to the point that the Indians felt
in danger. Because of this they would occasionally fight back. Opechancanough, a tribal and war
leader, launched several coordinated attacks on the settlers. By the end of the day, about one quarter,
or

encroachment of the
Indians land is the primary cause of this war.3 Another major race that contributed to the early
American society was the Africans. They may not have been from the same culture, but the black

Environmental Issues in North America and the World
Introduction North America has been struggling immensely since the last century with air and water
pollution, deforestation, and overpopulation. These struggles are due to poor prevention planning and
industrial manifestation. Pollution is changing the atmosphere much sooner than expected and global
warming is predicted to overwhelm the atmosphere within the next half of a century. In order to
sustain the environment and atmosphere humans must take immediate action right now. The longer we
wait to start immediate prevention, the sooner our air and water supplies will diminish. Unfortunately,
it is not only North America that needs to change it is many other countries and regions of the world.

Air Pollution and Global Warming The biggest cause of air pollution in North America comes from
carbon dioxide emissions. Fossil fuel, electricity, and vehicle technology has been an enormous
contribution to the emission of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are gases that attract radiation
from the sun into the earth s exterior and its environment. Producing an overabundance of greenhouse
gases at a time may dramatically change the atmosphere as we know it today. The ozone layer that
protects human beings and many other species of plants and animals from the sun s excruciating rays
may deplete or be damaged due to too much pollution. The United States heavy demand of fossil fuels
for transportation is causing extreme confliction and competitiveness with many other countries. Japan
became so concerned with these issues that they devised a plan that could bring countries together to
compromise this extremely difficult issue. The Kyoto Protocol is a negotiation put together by the
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The treaty was compromised
in Kyoto, Japan in 1997. Countries that formally approve this protocol devote to decrease the amount
of released greenhouse gases, or trade the number of emissions allowed from sustaining or raising the
emissions of greenhouse gases. The United States of America was not among these countries that
signed the

Dostoevsky was an Anti-Semite
Dostoevsky was an Anti Semite
Literary anti Semitism is as old as Western culture itself. A full listing of writers who have expressed
hostility toward Jews and/or Judaism from Shakespeare to T.S. Eliot, from Pushkin to Pasternak, etc.
would add up to a Who s Who of Western literature.1 Undoubtedly, Dostoevsky follows in this
tradition.
It is disparaging, however, that as the true novelist of ideas and Christian love, Dostoevsky could
harbor such ill will towards the Jews. Does this not discredit everything he has written? This paper
will address Dostoevsky s anti Semitism through an examination of Isay Fomitch Bumstein in The
House of the Dead, the Messianic idea in The Devils, and the little demon in The Brothers Karamazov.

In addition to writing Notes from the Underground, and The House of the Dead, Dostoevsky
completes Crime and Punishment, The Idiot and in 1871, he finishes The Devils. In addition, this
decade is marked by personal tragedy, gambling, and debts. Beginning in 1862, Dostoevsky makes the
first of several sojourns to Europe and his prolonged stay (from 1867 1871), no doubt, significantly
influences his belief in the Great Russian Messianism.8
The Russian Messianic idea found its most virulent expression in The Devils, where, in a conversation
with Stavrogin, Shatov states:
Reduce God to the attribute of nationality?...On the contrary, I elevate the nation to God...The people
is the body of God. Every nation is a nation only so long as it has its own particular God, excluding all
other gods on earth without any possible
reconciliation, so long as it believes that by its own God it will conquer and drive all other gods off the
face of the earth. At least that s what all great nations have believed since the beginning of time, all
those remarkable in any way, those standing in the vanguard of humanity...The Jews lived solely in
expectation of the
true God, and they left this true God to the world...A nation which loses faith is no

Big Brother Is The Ultimate Power Holder And The Party
Everyone wants power over something but, there was one government in 1984 that had power over
everything. Big Brother is the ultimate power holder and the Party is his face. There were numerous of
ways on how the Party had control over its citizens. For instance, they had control over the
information and history, control over the citizen lives, and families. Power played a big role in the
society of 1984. The Party controlled every source of information in 1984. They managed and rewrote
the content of all newspapers and histories for their own sake. The Party didn t want the citizens to
have pictures or even documents from their past. As a result, this caused memories to be uncertain,

Personal Responsibility and College Success
Personal responsibility requires one to accept that every action, thought, decision, victory, and defeat
in life ultimately is reliant upon and impacts them directly. When an individual accepts personal
responsibility to be a college student, they are making a commitment to themself and taking
ownership of their goals and ambitions. Personal responsibility and college success are closely related
because as a student, the individual ultimately controls their college success. Developing a preliminary

So, having that motivation to succeed is the most important reason an individual has to be personally
responsible and has college success. My Preliminary Plan to Practice Personal Responsibility in My
Education The preliminary plan for personal responsibility in my education is to be prepared and use
all of my resources. This preparation includes talking with my family about ways they can help me
balance household, work, and school obligations. The importance of time management cannot be
understated; I will need to schedule chunks of time to devote to schoolwork in a place where I will not
be interrupted. Macan, Shahani, Dipboye, and Phillips (1990) state that time management consists of
three factors: (1) the setting of goals and priorities, (2) the mechanics of time management (e.g.,
making lists, scheduling), and (3) a preference for organization. Additionally, the utilization of an
electronic calendar is a major tool to assist me and keep me on schedule. I can very much plan out the
day on my blackberry, or in outlook, and set schedules, set reminders, add due dates for assignments
to make sure I meet those due dates. Personal responsibility goes hand in hand with this because I
basically have my personal, professional, and school calendar all in one place. Many articles have
been written in business journals about the success of having an electronic calendar. I believe knowing
these things in the preliminary plan stages of my

A Character Analysis of Angelo in Measure for Measure
A Character Analysis of Angelo: Outer Angel and Inner Devil
There is a wide array of deceptiveness within the play Measure for Measure. While some of the
reasons for deception are good, other reasons are filled with evil and only for personal gain. Angelo is
a perfect example of one of the characters within this play who uses his deceptive nature for evil and
only for the gratification of himself. He is given a very superior and authoritative role by Vincentio,
the Duke, and extends his powers to the most extreme of measures. Unlike the Duke, Angelo is stern
and goes to the furthest extent to have his voice be heard. This complex play allows the reader to see

of everything that has occurred in his apparent absence. The truth then comes to light revealing that

American Indians And The American Indian
In present day capitalist Unites States, we value the America Dream as much now as we did over a
century ago. This opportunity of prosperity, success, and upward social mobility, entices the masses to
work hard and achieve set aspirations. The American Dream however, is hindered across the American
Indian population, and in order for this hope of prosperity to come to fruition, American Indians need
to be given the same opportunities as all other ethnic groups. The term American Indian is officially
defined as, a member of one of the indigenous people of the Americas, esp. one of the people
indigenous to the land in what is now the continental United States ( American Indian, OED def.1).
According the U.S Department of Interior Indian Affairs, there are 566 federally recognized Indian
tribes in the Unites State ( Tribal Directory ). Also, the U.S Census gathered that roughly 5.4 million
Americans identify as American Indians ( American Indian/ Alaskan Native Population ). While these
566 tribes may be scattered throughout the United States, most share a common dilemma. There are
many problems plaguing the American Indian population, but a major one has to be the shocking high
rate of unemployment across all tribes. The foundation of a thriving society is the prosperity of its
people, without sufficient employment American Indian society as a whole suffers. The U.S Bureau of
Labor and Statistics shows that around 1 in every 4 American Indians live in poverty, and as of

  • 2. Importance Of Nature In Poetry In poetry, poets use nature as a reference to reveal something important and make a statement. There are three poems I chose to write about and explain the importance of nature as a setting. The three poems are I wandered lonely as a cloud by William Wordsworth, Birches by Robert Frost, and The Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Berry. In these three poems, the poet uses nature as a setting to make a statement about an important idea. The first poem, I wandered lonely as a cloud by William Wordsworth is about the speaker imagining himself as if he was floating around like a cloud above all the beauties of nature, seeing all the trees and flowers dance in the breeze. He values being able to enjoy the beauty of nature and everything it has to offer. The poet uses his thoughts and memories of nature to go to a simple, delightful place when he is feeling lonely and bored. Wordsworth says, In vacant or in pensive mood, they flash upon my inward eye. He can just sit and think about how wonderful nature is and how it creates a simple peaceful moment. In this poem, the speaker reveals that he may have enjoyed just floating through life enjoying the small things. The crowd of daffodils could represent a crowd of people wandering around with a purpose for something. However, the speaker is wandering around thinking about nature and values the beauty of it. Wordsworth uses nature in his poem to reveal a memory and a feeling. He uses nature to express the simplicity of life, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Importance Of Bully On Body Weight In today s society women and girls are pressure to worry about their body sizes. Females think they have to be petite. Women and girls should not have to be pressured about their body weight. The pressure about their body weight comes from either girls are getting bullied about their size , trying to fit in , or even think their weight isn t good enough for an relationship. Women need to stop pressuring their self about their body size and just be happy. Always remember beauty come in any size and form. This generation is cruel and evil , everyone looks down on each other instead of bring each other up and being friendly to one another. Havin a perfect body for womens is a huge example of this world being cruel and evil. Women are often bullied for not having a perfect body . Nowadays if your not a size 0 , you are to big. Body hatred and women verbally bullying one another are tied together. Culture stigmatizes women who do not meet raditional standards of beauty and , too often, women use this unforgiving reality to harshly judge one another as a mean gain leverage and power ( When women). This illustrates how women bully one another with body hatred. Women like to have power over each other so by saying rude harsh words about body weight they feel as if they have power over one another . Talking down on someone isn t power it s cruel and evil. Women have to realize that word can hurt ;however, women need to bring one another up and compliment their weight not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of them looked out at the audience rather than at their outline. I think that people were less nervous and more prepared this round of speeches. There were many good central messages with these speeches. One of the speeches that had the best central message were Mikey s speech. I like how he did his on something very recent, which was the apple verses FBI case. I liked his because he went in to much detail about it. I also enjoyed Jessica s central message. I liked that she did hers on a subject that she cares about a lot, which was about the common core. I feel that she got her message out very well. This is because even though some of his presentation was very graphic I think that was creative that he used what he did. By doing this, he got everyone s attention. The delivery and flow of all the speeches were great because so many people were upbeat. One of the speeches that flowed the best was Mikey s speech because he spiced up his speech, which made me want to actually hear his speech. Another speech that I felt flowed well and was upbeat was Anthony s speech on supplements. I think that his was very upbeat because he was not nervous. In addition, the research will seek to identify that consumers made purchase decision due to the psychological change or based on their sane thinking and to provide rational suggestions to consumers when they are choosing items for sales, and to provide a means to identify the real value of many kinds of discount. 2. Literature 2.1 Review of the relevant literature There is a large amount of literature about the pricing strategy or consumers behaviour for different sales promotion but there is surprisingly little research about the contributing factors that prompt customers buying behaviour. However by analysing consumers reaction to sales promotions, we can determine whether customers make their purchasing decisions based on internal or external factors. The internal factors would be customers initial needs, while external factors would include the influence of promotion advertising. The retail industry increasingly used sales promotions (Felgate et al. 2012). Previous research (e.g.Webster 1971; Kotler 1988; Blattberg amp; Neslin 1990) sees sales promotion as a method that directly or indirectly influences customers purchasing ... • 6. Human Development and the Importance of Wind Energy... Human Development and the Importance of Wind Energy Conversion For human development to continue, we will ultimately need to find sources of renewable or virtually inexhaustible energy. It s difficult to imagine this, but even if we find several hundred or even thousand years of coal and natural gas supplies, what will humans do for the next 250,000 years or so after they are depleted? Even the most apparently inexhaustible sources like fusion involve the generation of large amounts of waste heat enough to place damaging stress on even a robust ecosystem like Earth s, at least for the organisms that depend upon stability of the system to survive. We are engaged in a sort of world wide biological experiment, with our descendents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are blissfully sedated by low conventional energy prices and are gulping down the few remaining years of cheap natural gas and Mid East oil. As we do this, the inertia of global warming is inexorably building. What drives the continued development of mechanical devices like wind turbines in the face of this widespread lack of support? In the case of wind turbine technology, I suspect that part of the reason for persistence of this vision is how accessible wind turbines are to the understanding. They are personal in a way that almost no other form of power generation is. This personal scale has been both the blessing and the curse of wind power development. The field tends to attract people who are committed, creative, and passionate. It also attracts a few people who are a little too much of all of those things, to the point that sometimes the grounding of reality is lost. Both of these tendencies will be evident in this brief history of wind power development. Wind power will probably succeed or fail based on the ability or inability of its proponents to bank the fires of Romance and focus on defining wind generation s role as a practical alternative to conventional generation sources. Wind energy conversion is a fascinating field to study, if only because its past has been so checkered and its exact future is so uncertain. • 7. The Mexican War Of Mexico The Mexican War Starting in 1845 and concluding in 1850 with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was the era where the Mexican war occurred. This war had triggers with disagreements on the ideal of Manifest Destiny and major actions by President Polk that led the United States into attempting to annex Texas. Texas at that time was independent and was not part of Mexico nor America. Mexico wanted Texas to stay neutral that they threatened a war to the United States if they tried anything to attempt anything. Unfortunately, the United States did not really care by going forward with the annexation and land conquering, sparking a war with Mexico. So the Mexican war began and nothing was ever the same. The annexation of Texas was the biggest reason as to what started the tension and the foreseen war between Mexico and the United States. When Texas gained its independence from Mexico, the United States considered it as open land where as Mexico thought of it as its own. It started with President Tyler, who did not want Britain to gain Texas, therefore proposed an annexation. Not only would the gain of Texas add more land to the United States, but the south wanted it as well because it would be considered as another slave state. Mexico threatened war if Texas was annexed but once part of it was they did nothing about it, leaving tension between the United States and Mexico. • 8. Paulo Freire In novel, chapter 2 of Pedagogy of The Oppressed written by Paulo Freire we are introduced to two educational concepts. Freire refers to the concepts as the banking concept and problem posing concept. The banking concept is the assumption that the teacher controls and fills students with selected information. Freire believes It is the people themselves who are filled away through lack of creativity, transformation, and knowledge in this misguided system (Freire 1). On the other hand Freire believes that the soulution to the education system is problem posing. This concept encourgaes student dialogue, creativity, and discovery. Meaning that the student is free and in control of his education. I believe Freire decribition of the banking concept is unconsintent. A teacher goal is not to control and fill students with memorization. Instead, the goal is to expand a student mind with critical information that sometimes needs memorization such as math equations, history, science, and vocabulary. • 10. Fibreglass Vs Mass Loaded Vinyl Sound Insulation Materials: Fibreglass vs Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) Background Science Sound The sound waves that we encounter in our daily lives exist as pressure vibrations in the air, water, and solid mediums that they travel through dissipating and becoming weaker as the displacement from the initial source increases. As sound is transmitted in the form of a travelling wave, the pressure varies and is dependent on both the displacement and time passed from its emission, according to the following equation: y=Asin 2π/λ(x vt) Where A is the amplitude, λ is the wavelength, v is the wave speed, t is the time elapsed, and (x,y) is the displacement of the wave. Just like any type of wave, sound waves transmit energy of a magnitude proportional to the square of the wave s amplitude (E=kA^2). This can mean large amounts of high amplitude sound waves cause significant destruction, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is increasingly prevalent as our cities become ever more densely populated and built up. To try and reduce this disruption and isolate the sound inside or out of different spaces, acoustic insulation can be used often labelled soundproofing. There are several different types, each with the common aim to decrease the sound pressure level in certain different spaces. Many techniques, such as damping, reflection, diffusion and cancellation, can all be used to achieve this. Damping is the reduction of any resonance in a room, through the absorption of either the acoustic resonance in the air or mechanical resonance in the room s structure. As friction and interference exists on the boundaries between air and solids, materials with a high surface area exposed can be used to absorb acoustic resonance, and this resistance dampens the sound pressure. A possible example of this is foam or any spongy material, as they contain a high surface area compared to a flat surfaced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Looking Into the Past in Vonnegut s Slaughter House Five In the spring of 1945, near the end of World War II, American and British bombers rained a hail of fire upon the city of Dresden, Germany. With an estimated 135,000 dead, Dresden is known as one of the deadliest attacks in History, nearly twice as many deaths than the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Kurt Vonnegut was among the few who lived through the firestorm; he wrote a book about it in fact. Slaughter House Five (1969) is a fictional recount of his experience of the war. Of course, there is no surprise when the sirens shriek and planes fly by, dropping their deadly arsenal on the city below. Billy and a few other men live through the bombing and find the city as desolate as the moon. Slaughter House Five is obviously an anti war book, but there s more to it than that. Vonnegut believes that the human trait of looking back can make us aware of our problems (such as war) and, hopefully, be able to fix them in the future. From the beginning to the end, Billy never stops time traveling. He travels to times ranging from his childhood to his death and back again. • 13. Example Of Defense Mechanisms Defense Mechanism Defense mechanisms are operated unconsciously without us knowing. There are 8 different defense mechanisms. We use these mechanisms daily but probably do not even realize we do. These defense mechanisms include repression, denial, reaction, projection, regression, rationalization, displacement, and sublimation. I have interviewed my boyfriend and along with myself to identify some of these defense mechanisms. The four different defense mechanisms I have used in my life is denial, regression, displacement, and rationalization. The first one I have used is denial. This is a mechanism that I seem to find myself using very often in my life. According to Freud in Theories of Personality by Schultz, denial is a defense mechanism that involves denying the existence of an external threat or traumatic event. (Schultz 50) An example of myself using the denial mechanism is a traumatic event that I remember very clearly. It was December 7th, 2016 around 8:00 pm, I was sitting in my living room watching television with my boyfriend. I just so happened to be scrolling on Facebook on my phone when I saw all these strange posts on my cousins James s Facebook wall. These posts were stating rest in peace and you will be missed. • 15. Patient Violence Towards Nursing Personnel Violence in all its forms has increased dramatically worldwide in recent decades (Balamurugan, Jose Nandakumar, 2012). According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) report, nearly two million American workers report having been victims of workplace violence each year (2011). Among those at highest risks for violence in the healthcare setting are nurses, social workers and psychiatric evaluators (OSHA, 2011). In the healthcare setting, physical assault is almost exclusively committed by patients (Balamurugan et al., 2012). Moreover, nurses have the highest rate of violent attacks out of all healthcare workers (Howerton Child Mentes, 2010); the main reason being that nurses are alongside the patients 24 hours a day, are usually the most available caretakers and are the frontline staff members dealing with patients and their relatives whereas psychiatrists, social workers and other healthcare providers only visit from time to time (Yarovitsky Tabak, 2009; Rowe, 2012; ALBashtaway, 2013). Nurses are frequently reluctant to report violence for different reasons, including fear of getting blamed for having provoked the incidents and labeled as troublemakers, retaliation by employers, concern about their competence being questioned, assumption that violence is just an occupational hazard, and misconception that only visible physical injuries are reportable (Rowe, 2012). But not as long as I can make stories out of my heartbreak, beauty out of sorrow, wrote Sylvia Plath in her journals, unpublished until nineteen years following her death. The relevance between the American author s life and the inspiration of her literary works cannot be disputed. She wrote about distinct experiences, from the death of her father at a young age to the depression she fell into after her husband left her. Plath, burdened with hardship, turned her pain into numerous influential poems and a semi autobiographical novel, The Bell Jar. In Daddy she wrote that he, Bit my pretty red heart in two. / I was ten when they buried you. / At twenty I tried to die / And get back, back, back to you. / I thought even the bones would do. / But they pulled me out of the sack, / And they stuck me together with glue. Each line written describes specific events in her life, and it could not be clearer. This one of sixteen stanzas is exactly related to the events in her life, yet also provides insight into her own thoughts on herself. In Ariel, plath wrote of being suicidal, thus describing her life as she attempted suicide many different times and was successful in 1963 when she killed herself ( Sylvia Plath. Biography). As much as one could continue connecting Sylvia Plath s life and work based on simple life details, why she wrote about her life is far more compelling. She was said to have wanted to understand her own mind, the mind that doctors seemed to understand better than herself. • 18. Laura Koller s Spring Wedding Spring Wedding In my senior project, Laura Koller s wedding meant so much for me to be able to be a part of putting my creativity into her wedding. I want Laura to have the best wedding with the most amazing flowers she choose and to not worry about having the flowers not being the way she wants them to be. When Laura s wedding caught my attention, I felt honor to be able to be part in the next step in someone s lifetime. In this project, I ll talk about the history of weddings, the flowers that were used, the creation and the packing up. The flowers or herbs were used in historical weddings since the beginning of time to show a way of love and well wishes to everyone. The first use of wedding flowers were the ancient Greeks. The flowers or plants were used to make a crown for the bride to wear and was a gift of nature. The bridesmaids would have floral decorations which were garlands, bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. Mostly the bridesmaids were to make a poesies, to make, for each guest to wear as a symbol of saying thanks. Over time, the flowers and their meanings stayed the same but the herbs lost their place in modern North American weddings. Some of the cultures and religions have intertwine herbs with flowers to celebrate the marriage with a gift of nature. Leading up to and during the Middle Ages, weddings were considered as a family and community affairs. The only main thing about a wedding was for both partners to state a consent to take one of them as a spouse. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. The World On The Terrorism When looking at the terrorism that ISIS has endued it has become very evident that a solution needs to be drawn into action. In my opinion the only way to take down this organization is to begin to treat it like the state that it is. A state is defined as: a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government. ISIS has not only gained territory in Syria, Iraq and Istanbul but according to New York Times columnist, Tim Arango, ISIS is building a capacity to govern. In 2014, ISIS formally informed the world on their establishment of a caliphate. This caliphate is governed under Islamic beliefs and rulers. They have begun issuing identification cards for residents, promulgating fishing guidelines to preserve stocks, and requiring that cars carry tool kits for emergencies (Arango). Believe it or not, ISIS has been a state for two years, regardless of their lack of legitimacy, their consistent threat of violence against any of those who oppose their beliefs allows them not only to get things done, but get them done efficiently. Whether we want to accept it, ISIS is a state, and we need to treat it as such. On the 29th of June in 2014, ISIS announced that a caliphate has been establish and the caliph was to be Caliph Ibrahim. The saying goes, In order to kill a snake, one must cut off its head. The Indian believed that know one owned the land, it was just for everyone to work on. The English, however, was the exact opposite. They insisted on having their own farms, and buying and selling land. Basically, above all, the English settlers believed unwaveringly in the superiority of their civilization. Because of this belief of superiority, the English settlers felt that they could do anything they wanted to the land or the inferior Indians on it.
