Inner Journey Cosi
Inner Journey Assessment William F Buckley quoted If all difficulties were known at the outset of
a long journey most of us would never start at all . This quote relates to journeys, specifically to
inner journeys with the intention that many journeys are difficult and if individuals knew how
difficult the journey was going to be, then most of us would not even commence the journey. A
journey is simply a movement from one place to another. Physical journeys are gateways to inner
journeys, which is a journey of the mind and spirit. Inner journeys take place when an individual
experiences events or is involved in relationships that act as a catalyst to gain greater understanding
about themselves and the world. Inner journeys can be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The metaphor transfers the journey from a physical one. The persona is confronted with the
choice of two roads, both fairly similar two roads diverged in a yellow wood , and must decide
which one he wants to travel. This is similar to Lewis s situation where he has to decide between
politics, and true love and fidelity and which is more important. The persona, with ultimately
choosing the one that was grassy and wanted wear and the one less travelled by . He wanted to
break away from the norm and experience something new. This road may be more rewarding
despite the fact it presents more challenges. The inner journey is depicted through the use of
language techniques such as, extended metaphor, first person pronoun, repetition and symbolism.
The use of first person pronoun I shows that it is a personal journey where choices need to be
made. The repetition of I in the last stanza highlights the speaker s solitude and that he is proud
of the choice he has made and I I took the one less travelled by , also emphasises that we are
responsible for our own decisions on our own journey. It helps the audience connect to the poem
and inturn reflect on their own inner journey experiences. Frost uses symbolism in the word in the
first line of the first stanza in yellow of the wood. This symbolises the season autumn and the
autumnal time in ones life where time is running out and decisions need to be made, this
demonstrates

The Affordable Care Act Is Surrounded By Numerous...
The Affordable Care Act is surrounded by numerous political circumstances. The Affordable Care
Act has been called by many names such as Obama Care or healthcare overhaul. The healthcare
overhaul is one of the rare policies that has been developed, but not tweaked to perfection; it may
never be tweaked to satisfy everyone, but it could still improve. According to the article entitled
The Science of Muddling Through by Charles Lindblom Policy is not made once and for all; it is
made and re made endlessly (Lindblom, 1959, pp. 86). The act of policy making is based on
consecutive approximations to some sought after objective in which the ultimately desired
objective continuously changes under reconsideration (Lindblom, 1959, pp. 86). Due to the fact,
the Affordable Care Act was an overhaul unlike any other in America in regards to healthcare it has
received a great deal of attention nationwide. All the attention seems to have gotten people to
thinking about our health care system in comparison to others countries health care systems and
what is best for the United States. According to Delivering Health Care in America: A Systems
Approach. Sixth ed., the United States leads the world in the latest and greatest in medical
technology, training and research. Another feature that makes this health system stand out is that is
doesn t automatic cover everyone unlike other health systems. The health care system is a
patchwork of various components of other systems. Some

The Disillusion Of Middlemarch
This chapter focuses on analyzing and explaining the four main story lines in this novel. It
focuses on describing the disillusion, exploring the reasons and making a short summary.
Middlemarch represents a frustrating scene through these four story lines. In this small town,
people deliberately plan, engineer, elaborate and pursue. But the outcome backfires. The end is
frustrated or just passable. Each person s disillusion is caused by both social reasons and personal
reasons. Everyone should be responsible for their failure and desperation. 1.Dorothea Mr.

Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism Summary
The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism
In the enduring work The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, sociologist Mark Weber
argues that certain elements of the Protestant religion helped give rise to Modern Capitalism. More
specifically, he asserted that the economic system has basic values and ideas that are strongly
rooted in this form of Christianity s principles. However, he emphasized that it was not the sole
cause of the creation of capitalism. Laying the groundwork for his argument, Weber highlights
differences between Protestant and Catholics and their presence in Industry. Weber provides
statistics showing higher amounts of Protestants among the wealthy and capitalists of Europe than
those of Catholic faith. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, the idea of capitalism being a varying system. Weber placed importance in specifying the
form of Capitalism he planned to discuss in this case, Modern Capitalism. I did not realize
capitalism could vary, especially in its origins. Modern capitalism was described as a different
form than what other countries considered it, an almost feverous system of gaining wealth.
Furthermore, I realized the connection between religion and capitalism that I never knew before.
The idea of an economic system having ties to religious beliefs is a foreign concept. Capitalism
from the way I view it is all about acquiring more on the backs of others, an idea at odds with
salvation, virtue, and religion. It proved challenging trying to reconcile the two throughout the
reading, nonetheless Weber helped a great deal in understanding the

Vegetarian stew with celebration potatoes dumplings recipe
This tasty vegetarian stew is quick and easy to make and features beautiful celebration potatoes,
leek, carrots and dumplings in a meaty sauce.
It s a meal in itself when served with fresh bread and salad and regularly makes it onto our dinner
menu. Root vegetables always go so well together and have the added advantage of being nutritious
and inexpensive!
At one time, I had the notion that stews were winter food but that s far from the truth. We eat this
all year round in the heat of Florida! Because the ingredients keep so well, this is a handy and

Olive oil about a tablespoon
About a quarter cup flour
I also added a sloosh of wine, black pepper and chopped herbs
Vegetables
Heat the olive oil in a large pan and put a glass of water in the freezer.
POTATOES
The potatoes I used had been around for a while so were quite eye y so my first job was to wash
them, clean out any eyes and cut them into quarters. Each chunk of potato should be bite sized.
Once the oil is hot, add the potatoes. I like to dab them with paper towel to dry them first. Stir the
potatoes and turn the heat to medium low.
LEEKS
Simply clean the leek and cut into slices. I don t know if it s just me that gets particularly grubby
leeks but I always have to give them a very thorough rinse in cold water.

LEEKS POTATOES
Put the leeks to the pan with the potatoes. Give them a good stir.
GARLIC
Peel and slice the garlic cloves and put these into the pan too, combining the vegetables well. By
now, the potatoes will probably be cooked. I usually just eat one to test but if a knife point goes in
easily, they re done.
ADD LIQUID
Add about half a cup of water, ground black pepper and half a teaspoon of Marmite. Oh, what a
subject this brown goo is! My mum used to force feed us the stuff when we were kids because it s
loaded with vitamins and goodness. I think it tastes horrible but don t worry. It will add color and

Last Child In The Woods By Richard Lou
Despite being an environmental studies major, I would be lying if I said that the environment and
nature has always had a huge role in my life. The only reason I became interested in the
environment was when I found out about environmental justice and environmental racism. In other
words, because of people. Before I made that connection sometime in high school, I, like many
others, never viewed nature as something that should be, rather something that just was.
Appreciating nature was a subjective value that I had no particular interests in. Because of this,
although I am now what I consider a fully committed and passionate environmentalist, Last Child in

Sara Blakely is the founder of Spanx. Spanx is a body shaping undergarments and the answer to
a lot of women s prayer. Blakely held and failed at many jobs including, trying out for Goofy at
Disney World. Fortunate for her she was too short. She even failed the Law School Admission
Test (LSAT) twice in hopes of becoming a lawyer. She eventually sold fax machines for seven
years. It was doing the time that she was selling fax machines that she had to wear the ever so
uncomfortable girdle. Sara knew there had to be a better and more comfortable choice for
women. She utilized her creative characteristic by cutting the legs off some control top
pantyhose, made some modification and created the Spanx. Another characteristic that attributed
to her success is that she was a calculated risk taker. When she was younger, her father would ask
her the same question daily, what have you failed at today? She stated in the interview with

The Safety Hood was a cotton hood protected people from inhaling smoke and poisonous gasses
and instead gave them purer air through two hoses with wet sponges as filters at ends. This is
much unlike the plastic and rubbery gas masks with a screw on replaceable filter on the side
you probably see in most media. As I m sure you know, the gas mask was used a lot in many
different places and jobs. Of course, the most common were military and firefighters.
Firefighters use it just for what Garrett had made it for, easy breathing in smoke filled rooms and
areas. Although the military did use gas masks in many wars, one little known fact is that
despite common belief, Morgan s Safety Hood was not the version of the gas mask used in
World War I. You see, because the gas in World War I needed to get into the trenches, it was
heavy and creeped along the ground, because of this, a lot of the gas would be at floor where the
hoses are at the end of the Safety Hood. The hoses are meant to be on the floor to get cleaner air,
but it would instead have sucked in more of the gas than a soldier would if they just breathed

Selection of Location I live in a smaller town with less than 8,000 people. Our downtown consists

past three years. I wanted to look into Cinemark as an employment opportunity, simply because I
can remember wanting to work at the movie theatre when I was a teenager and while I was in

Other than that, the entire establishment had wheelchair access. Another resource that was

was available, regarding something tangible. I felt a strong resource was being flexible,
especially with scheduling. Both of the managers that I spoke with mentioned that they are able
to accommodate individuals that need to work specific hours, day, etc. An example that was
mentioned was a current employee that works at this location, who happens to have autism is
provided his schedule weeks in advance, so that he can plan the other activities in his life. He
tends to work the same schedule most weeks, regarding the days of the week and the time in
which he works. Lacking or Unavailable Resources I did not feel that this location had a lot of
resources that were readily available for someone with a disability, however they seemed very
willing to accommodate their employees in any way that they could. The Assistant Manager, Ryan
told me that each employee that they hire was on a case by case basis. They did not have any

How Uniformity Has Become A Major Part Of Military...
Uniformity has become a major part of military lifestyle since before the Revolutionary War.
Every item on a uniform has its own purpose and standards and should be held to that
standard.Whether its from the number of belt loops all trousers have, to the significance of left
over rights on the boot sales, every Marineshould be held accountable for ensuring all pieces of the
uniform are in its proper place.
The main uniform used today for all branches of service comes in many different patterns. For
Marines, there are two different uniforms, woodland MARPAT and desert MARPAT, or utility
uniforms. These are intended for wear in the field, or on working parties. but have become the
typical uniform for working on a daily basis, especially in Garrison or on deployment. The
MARPAT is designed to break up the wearers shape, and to identify a Marine as a Marine and not
any other branch of service. The Utilities we wear depend on the time of year and the region the
Marine lives in. For example, Marines on the west coast of the U.S. wear desert utilities in the
spring and summer months. Also, because we are in a desert environment, we wear these.
Woodland utilities are worn in the winter months due to the changing of the seasons and is also
because of the rainy, greener climate. on the other hand, those Marines on the east coast and over
sees wear woodlands year round because they are not in a desert environment, but a tropical or
wooded area. The sleeves of all areas are rolled in

Religion And Religion In The Canterbury Tales By Geoffrey...
Religion is often seen in a good light, but the same does not necessarily apply to those who
follow said religion. In The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer explores this contrast between
religion and follower, during the medieval period. The work tells of a group of pilgrims on their
way to Canterbury to pray to Saint Thomas Becket, who are given the challenge of telling the best
tale. In the Prologue the simple minded narrator describes all the people on the journey and their
characters. These travelers come from various classes, occupations, and attributes; ordinarily, this
includes people that are part of the Christian church. Using the natures of the Friar, Monk, and

Sea Mink Research Paper
Sea minks are now extinct but were once ranged from Casco Bay, Maine in the south to as far
north as New Brunswick, Canada. Their main habitats are coastal regions. Sea minks are usually
confused with the American mink, but the sea mink is bigger. Sea minks are on average
914mm but the American mink is 580 700mm, so there is a good difference in size. Also the
male sea minks are larger in size compared to the females. Their fur is a reddish dark brown, and
it is not known if their fur changes during the summer and winter. There are many ways that this
animal could have become extinct. Besides humans there were no major predators known to kill
this animal. The main reason for it becoming extinct was hunting it for its fur. There was no law
on how many you could catch and kill. Another is that the young sea minks couldn t stay alive
because the parents either got trapped or killed. Putting a law on how many you could trap and
kill could have possibly been one way to save this animal. Another one could be to have a hunting
season for this animal. So that when its not hunting season the animal has time to breed. If the

Class Struggle in Robert Frost s Poem Out, Out Essay
Class Struggle in Robert Frost s Poem Out, Out
Robert Frost s poem Out, Out is developed around a clear and unquestionable moment: a
horrifying accident in which a young boy is mutilated by a buzz saw. Frost s underlying message,
however, isn t nearly as straightforward. As the poem develops, two clear levels of interpretation
seem to surface. While on the basic level the poem would seem to be a simple metaphor for man s
struggles with nature, a more careful analysis suggests a level of interpretation far more relevant to
humanity as a whole.
On the most basic level, Frost s Out, Out begins by establishing the primary character the dominant
voice in the form of a buzz saw. When the narrator writes that The buzz saw ... Show more content

Thus, the conflict between man and nature is expanded into a conflict between man s destructive
qualities and his innocent acceptance of the natural world.
At the climax of Out, Out Frost clearly reveals the horrible nature of the conflict within man. When
the saw, / As if to prove saws knew what supper meant, / Leaped out at the boys hand, or seemed to
leap, the boy is horribly mutilated both as an individual and as a representation of mankind s
innocence towards nature. The saw, as an embodiment of the destructive qualities of man, takes
the boys hand and, with it, the boy s innocence. When Frost writes that the boy swung toward
them holding up the hand, / Half in appeal, but half as if to keep / The life from spilling he
seems to be presenting the boys final appeal to remain innocent and free of corruption before
nature. His appeal, however, is clearly denied when the boy s life and innocence fades into Little
Less Nothing! Thus, Frost s Out, Out would seem, on the outward level, to be a representation of
man s struggle both with himself and with nature.
It would not be surprising, given Frost s affinity for nature, to assume that Out, Out is, indeed,
merely a poem born out of Frost s

European Exploration Motivation
European Exploration Motivations: Gold, God, and Glory Throughout the 15th and 16th centuries,
European exploration and expansion thrived. Portugal led the way in this movement of
exploration with their development of efficiently built ships known as caravels, seafaring devices
such as compasses and astrolabes, and cutting edge naval academies. Various European countries,
including Spain, England, France, etc., followed Portugal s example by utilizing their progressive
naval technology. These technological advancements led to the crossing of oceans and eventually
the circumnavigation of the world. These Portuguese sailing techniques were implemented by
explorers such as Christopher Columbus, John Cabot, Hernando Cortes, Francisco Pizarro, and
Bernal Castillo allowing them to travel by sea to places such as Africa, East Asia, the Caribbean,
and the Americas. These nations and explorers were persuaded to put in the time and effort to
complete these complex expeditions by three essential motivations. Financial gain, political
dignity, and religious expansion were fundamental motivators for the European Age of
Exploration. The accumulation of wealth for individuals as well as nations, propelled European
Exploration. For instance, Hernando Cortes travelled to Central America with a key motivation of
obtaining gold. This can be exemplified in The Dispatches of Hernando Cortes to Emperor
Charles V, 1519 1521, I and my companions suffer from a disease of the heart which can only

football team. In his time of coaching, Boone leads his team to unbelievable success, making his
whole community proud.
The movie released on the 25th of January 2000, goes back in time to 1971 Alexander, Virginia,
where schools were segregated for decades. That year however, was the year in which 2 schools

The Importance Of Bullying In The United States
When minors throughout the United States visualize bullying, they generally envision a
substantially larger child physically picking on a much smaller individual. However, when asked
about what harassment looks like, the majority of adolescents are unsure of what it is. Many times
teenagers get bullying and harassment confused or assume they are the same. Harassment and
bullyingare related because they each have to do with someone hurting another person, but
nonetheless, they are utterly different. Bullies put in great thought to who they will bully because
bullying portrays a sense of power and they need someone who will satisfy this need. Harassers do
not choose individuals who are smaller than them, but an equal. Harassers victims are peers... Show

It is through the opposition of one another that an absence of the love they so earnestly desire is
bred. Rejection is first present in Cyrus Trask s raising of his two sons, Adam and Charles.
Cyrus utilizes a harsh parenting style, one in which he trains his sons for the military from a
young age. Charles excels at the rigorous trainings, while Adam struggles and begins to develop
a hatred for his father. As Cyrus pushes Adam harder, a favoring of one son over the other is
apparent. Cyrus favors Adam because he feels he is the stronger and better son, I love you
better. I always have...Else why would I have given myself the trouble of hurting you?
(Steinbeck 28). Charles feels rejected and works to gain his father s approval, but Cyrus
continues to favor Adam regardless of Charles efforts. It is due to this rejection that Charles
develops a sensitive and violent personality, Rage came first and then a coldness, a possession;
noncommittal eyes and a pleased smile and no voice at all, only a whisper. When that happened
murder was on the way (30). Charles violence and anger are a failing effort to fight for love,
which in return only makes him a broken man. Cathy Ames is an example of how rejection by one
woman can lead to the downfall of all those around her. Cathy was born an enigma and used this to
manipulate others. People were drawn to her out of curiosity so in return she lures them in and then

Having courage isn t the same as having no fear. It s being afraid and pushing forward anyway.
Although spoken by a fictional character, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III from Dreamworks
Dragons, this quote holds a very real truth. This truth is especially evident in the lives of siblings
Hans and Sophie Scholl, founders of a peaceful anti Nazi group in Germany called The White Rose.
After realizing the errors of Hitler s ways, they started writing anonymous leaflets to expose him,
which they knew could cause them a lot of trouble. Despite the looming danger of an entire nation
pining against them, the Scholls persevered courageously to make a difference in their own setting
in a way that inspires me to do the same. In the 1930s, German teenagers everywhere were joining

Among the good natured types is moral courage. Moral courage is being persistent in the face of
adversity when everyone else is against what you know is right. This can be manifested in a
variety of ways. It can be as trivial as standing up to a bully or as extreme as going up against an
entire nation to spread a message it does not want to hear. The White Rose knew that Hitler was
wrong, yet the wool had been pulled so thickly over everyone s eyes, that it would take far too
long to remove it all before the authorities exterminated the bugs trying to undo their work. Even
so, the White Rose knew that all it takes is a spark to start an inferno. As little progress as it may

Using dressy and foreign words is unnecessary and, the result..., is an increase in slovenliness
and vagueness (Orwell 238). Instead of using foreign terms, it is best to use every day English
terms. The last guideline, using meaningless words, tells us not to use words with no definite
definition (Orwell 238). When meaningless words are used, there can be multiple interpretations
of the meaning and these words are typically meant to deceive people (Orwell 239). Though
Orwell s intention was mainly for political leaders, everyday people make these errors. With
knowledge of these errors, we can learn to fix our mistakes. Newman and Genevieve Birk are
English professors who have published several books on English language. This passage in

of the information we read and hear slant towards audiences having a specific response (Birk and

charged words, and charged language. Before any information is interpreted into words, the
principle of selection, also known as screening, occurs (Birk and Birk 224). Let us say that an

This experiment tests how the amount of sleep consumed effects the accuracy and reaction time
in college students. The hypothesis states that a participant who received six or less hours of
sleep the previous night will have slower reaction times and less accuracy than a participant who
received more than six hours of sleep. Participants were broken into two groups (six or less hours
of sleep and more than six hours) and asked to identify the color of ink on a flash card. This was a

When a person gets that gut feeling that something just isn t right, it should never be ignored.
Our natural human intuition is giving us that gut feeling for a reason. And that sensation of
danger can save lives. One example of how human intuition works was given in the book; a man
walked into a convenience store, had a gut feeling he needed to get out of there, left, and found
out later that day the convenience store had been robbed and the cashier had been shot and
killed. This seemingly random feeling of danger that spared this mans life was not random at
all. His intuition let him know to have fear because the cashier looked as if he was fearful when
the man walked into the store and also there was a second nervous looking customer wearing a
long concealing jacket while it was hot outside. His intuition let him know that there was a
potentially dangerous situation even if he wasn t looking for the signs that were there. This
applies to my life because everybody can experience these gut feelings from human intuition; I
know now to act upon them and to never ignore them because they have the capability to save
your life. One thing I learned about fear is that it can basically act for us. With fear humans can
make critical decisions that they wouldn t dare make without fear edging them on. A story that
particularly shocked me was the story of a young woman named Kelly. She followed her

The Impact Of Payroll Tax
Oct 3, 2014 The Impact of Payroll Tax
Payroll taxes are the federal tax and the state tax contributed by the employer and employee to
finance health care, pension, benefits for disability and compensation for the injured employee.
Pay roll tax falls under two categories: one deduction from the employee s wage and another is
based on employee s wage paid by the employer. In the first kind of payroll tax, employer reserve
certain fraction of their employee s earning s. It is also known as pay as you go tax (PAYG) or
pay as you earn tax (PAYE). One the other hand, in the second kind the employer s pays the tax
from his/her own fund and is directly related to employing a worker. The sum paid by the
employer normally covers the employer s finance of the social security system, Medicare, and
other insurance programs. The US government charges two distinct payroll taxes in labor wage.
The first tax is a 12.4 percent to fund the social security in which the first dollar an individual
earns in income up to a cap of $117,000 in 2014. Each year the cap is adjusted to the change in
the wage. Both the employer and employees share the equal burden in the tax i.e. 50 percent
from each side out of total 12.4 percent. The second tax funds the Medicare which is 2.9 percent
payroll tax and is also levied from the first dollar of income but has no cap. This tax is also divided

Causes and Treatments of Peptic Ulcer Disease
A peptic ulcer can be defined as an excavation that forms in the mucosal wall of the stomach, in
the pylorus, in the duodenum, or in the esophagus (Brunner, Suddarth and Smeltzer, 2008).
According to Fromm, (2009) Helobactor pylori is a gram negative bacteria that is the cause of
most peptic ulcer disease and is considered a primary risk factor in the development of gastic
cancer (pg. 394). Other causes include stress, and excessive secrtion of Hydrochloric acid in the
stomach. Transmission of H. pylori according to Gurney, Carvalho, Gonzalez, Galaviz Sonstein
(2014) states there is strong research supporting that H. pylori can be spread person to person
through direct contact with saliva, vomit, or fecal matter (pg. 393). H. Pylori is more prevalent in
crowded areas without reliable access to clean water. Other risk factors include poor hygiene,
smoking, and close living conditions with someone who is infected with H. pylori. Symptoms of an
ulcer include a burning sensation in the stomach and esophagus, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation
and bleeding. Treatment of Peptic UlcerDisease includes antibiotics to eradicate H. pylori bacteria;
proton pump inhibitors are used to treat NSAID induced ulcers and other ulcers not associated with
the bacterial infection, smoking cessation and dietary modifications. Surgical management is
recommended for ulcers that fail to heal after 12 16 months of treatments and the procedures
include pyloroplasy, anrectomy or vagotomy.

attending several schools over one s lifetime (Baker, 2015). One of his earliest memories is of
his mother bundling him up to go outside in the heavy snows of a Michigan winter storm. In
1978, the family moved to Mainz, Germany where he attended the first grade. While stationed
there, the family visited many German castles, learned a lot of German history, went on
Volksmarches which were noncompetitive walkathons (AVA) and met a lot of interesting people.
In 1981, the family moved back to the United States to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. There, Alan
attended Logan Heights Elementary School. His house was on a street that had a dead end.
Beyond the dead end was literally the desert complete with cactuses, tumbleweeds, horned frogs,
and tarantulas. He loved going over the border to Juarez, Mexico with the family and haggling
with the merchants for items. Finally, in 1982 the family moved to Ft. Polk, Louisiana for his last
move which is where his father retired from the military. In Louisiana, Alan attended Leesville
Junior High and High School. He graduated with honors in 1992. He enrolled at Northwestern
State University for the fall semester. However, he was working full time, had an hour long
commute to classes, and a new girlfriend that would soon be his wife. His grades weren t very
good. Alan decided perhaps he was ready for a break from school and was ready to do a little
growing up . Having a long history of military service in his family, he looked to do his duty and
serve also. After talking with the recruiters in his home town, the Air Force seemed to have the
jobs he found most interesting. He took the ASVAB test and scored high enough to select any job

Essay On Orthodontists
Orthodontists are types dentists who specialize in straightening teeth and fixing misaligned
jaws. Orthodontists do not only straighten teeth so that people can have a straight smile, they
straighten teeth for overall functionality of the teeth. While researching I found that the average
dentist makes $160,000 a year, an orthodontist makes upwards of $200,000 a year (after paying
everything off). Why do I want to be an orthodontist? I would like to be an orthodontist so that I
can see the result of my work from start to finish. I would also like to see people have a better
smile and improve their life from me. I personally would not like to do oral surgery at this point in
time but, there is more money possibly if I were to do oral surgery. As an orthodontist I will also
like doing this job because, here is a very systematic process and there is steps involved. I like this

Caring for patients is really important because, without a caring attitude for your parents no one
would come to your practice. People like others who care because they feel happier and calmer
when you are nice to them. Many people also like to have caring orthodontists so that they are
not as scared when they are having things done in their mouths. When people are scared they
like to be comforted by people who care about them and how they are doing. I would like to be a
nice and helpful orthodontist so that I can have a lot of patients that will feel comforted. All and
all, orthodontists need to be caring, smart, good with money, and most of all caring for their
patients. I want to be all of these things so that I can be a really good orthodontist. Of course this
isn t all that makes you a good orthodontist, you need to have the skills and training but, these
things make you an even better orthodontist. And these things make you an orthodontist that people
can trust and can feel comfortable

The Discovery of Vesicle Transportation System Essay
On October 7th 2013, the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize
in Physiology or Medicine jointly to James E. Rothman, Randy W. Schekman and Thomas C.
Sudhof for their discoveries of machinery regulating vesicle traffic, a major transport system in our
cells . Before this research, knowledge about the vesicle transportation system that eukaryotic cells
utilized was essentially limited to what could be observed, including its various tasks and actions
and its huge significance in cellsurvival. The question that remained unanswered, however; was
exactly how this system was able to perform and control its tasks with such efficiency and precision
throughout the cell body and beyond. Therefore, Rothman,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This sophisticated intracellular setup has understandingly raised questions about its mechanics and
remained an enigma until the three Nobel Laureates presented their discoveries.
Randy Schekman was able to identify the genes that controlled vesicle trafficking through the use
of yeast cells and it s genetics as a model. In order to identify which genes participate in vesicle
transportation, Schekman used genetic screening, which is a process where mutant organisms are
created and isolated based on the desired phenotype to determine the presence of a gene associated
with a disorder. Through this genetic screening, Randy Schekman observed mutated yeast cells and
isolated those with flawed vesicle transport systems. He observed that these cells experienced
congestion of vesicles in certain areas of the cell, specifically in the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi
complex and the cell surface. Therefore he was able to accredit control of vesicle trafficking to
the twenty three specific genes he later identified and classified in relationship to the location of
the vesicle blocks. James Rothman discovered how vesicles are able to fuse with its target
membrane when transporting molecules by a protein complex. Rothman was able to arrive to this
discovery through the use of his work with a specific viral protein. He used a system where
infected cells would produce the

In fact, an expert from the L.A. Sheriff s Department who testified at the Sleepy Lagoon trial is
quoted as saying:
Let us view it from the biological basis. . . Total disregard for human life has always been
universal throughout the Americas in the human population. And this Mexican element feels a
desire to kill or at least to draw blood (Tobar, 1997). On top of the racism faced in the courtroom
was the media bias against the Mexican American population. In the process of covering events in
the city, the then Hearst owned papers did a series of articles on the pachuco gangs, depicting
Mexican American neighborhoods as being fraught with violence, places of raping and
pillaging (Tobar, 1997). This was the atmosphere of the city at the time of the Sleepy Lagoon
murder in 1942, when the body of Jose Diaz was found at a common swimming hole after a
party. Because of the public outrage over pachuco gangs, which was instigated by the media, the
sheriff s department went on a sweep of the city s barrios, rounding up and arresting over 600
young men in connection to the Sleepy Lagoon case. Eventually 24 men were indicted for murder,
and 12 were convicted (Tobar, 1997). During the trial in early 1943, the defendants were forced to

Competitiveness In America
Over the period of study, the relative strength in the Peripheral South diminished as the Republican
Party became more competitive in the Deep South. Over time, one should see both the national and
state indexes increase with the state party index lagging behind the national party index. While this
is far from definitive, it supports the findings of some scholars who say that the increase in
Republican Party competitiveness started at the national level and went to affect the
competitiveness of electionsto lower level political offices. A major reason that the state score
index lags behind the national index is that the state index includes state legislative offices (and not
votes as we have for the other offices included in the MPI) which... Show more content on

This is why I included the percentage of congressional turnout in the model. One should know from
previous research, that increases in voter turnout in the South was not confined to African
Americans. Several scholars saw an increase in white voter turnout from the early 1950s to the
1970s of about 70 percent. Voting was no longer for the populations better people, but instead
became more universal. Looking at figures 3.3 and 3.4, it is evident that there is an upward trend in
the data, but that the increase is much larger in the Deep South than in the Peripheral South. The
midterm effects is present in the data with the reduced turnout in the midterm

Sport 7 Year Study
Is enough emphasis being placed on injury prevention in sports at a junior level in Australia?
The conclusion of a 7 year study in Victoria in 2010, found that children aged 15 and under were
5.4 times more likely to be hospitalised for sports related injuries than for road traffic injuries .
This is cause for major concern amongst the junior sporting population of Australia, with a
significant increase in sports related hospitalisations nationally each year. Eccentric factors such as
overtraining and early specialisation have been linked to this rise. In the absence of a national
sporting injury prevention body and subsequent national injury prevention policy, associations and
sporting clubs may be ill equipped to deal with this extensive ... Show more content on

Excess weight, especially obesity, is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes,
some musculoskeletal conditions and some cancers. In Australia, 25% of children and 63% of
adults are overweight . Yet up to 545,000 Australians have reported to have a long term health
condition caused by a sport/exercise related injury ; inhibiting their ability to maintain a healthy
level of physical activity and combat rising obesity rates. It is thought that more than half of these
injuries are linked to a similar injury occurrence in youth. This proves that injuries at a junior level
have long term consequences that can affect one s physical health and morality in adulthood. The
ASC and Department of Health are both reshaping their current physical activity programs to focus
on participation at all ages. And with physical inactivity costing the Australian economy about
$13.8 billion annually ... , current injury prevention policy needs prioritisation as the health and
financial burden of obesity in Australia rises. 184

city s establishment dates back over 600 years ago. From the depths of its physical and cultural
development to its present prominence in the financial world, the city is an excellent example in
defining and understanding the cities of today. The manners in which the city s infrastructures and
population interact with one another can also be explained through the lenses of an urban
sociological perspective to help further the understand of many different aspects that define
metropolitan life. From the various turmoil to the dramatic increase in development of the city life
establishment, the city of Seoulsets itself apart from many as an interesting city.
In its earlier days, Seoul was known as Han Yang. The city dates back to the year 1394, where
the Chosun/Joseson Dynasty recognized it as the new capital (Ko, 2005). Shortly after the city
was established, the Fortress Wall of Seoul was constructed, which was a circular wall made
from various stones, sticks and other materials that enclosed the capital. The wall was assembled
not only to define the boundaries of the new land, but also for security and operational purposes
(UNESCO). The purpose of the gate was also a way for the dynasty to signify and set itself apart
as a separate entity from the rest of the land. By 1405, the city was officially acknowledged as the

As I have oily skin, most of the moisturizers feel very heavy and uncomfortable on my skin, but
the Debelle Fairness Cream is very light weight so whenever I use it, It feels as if I have applied
nothing at all! The cream also has a mild fragrance which is very pleasing to the nose. On the
packaging it s mentioned that you should use the cream twice a day to get the best results out of
it, but I generally use it only once in a day (out of my laziness, I forget to apply it for the second
time! п ќ) and it still keeps my skin moisturized for almost whole day! Dry skinned beauties may
feel the need of applying it more than once or twice though. The best thing is that the cream is
suitable for all types of skin, but if you have sensitive skin then please check the ingredients list
before using this

  • 2. Inner Journey Cosi Inner Journey Assessment William F Buckley quoted If all difficulties were known at the outset of a long journey most of us would never start at all . This quote relates to journeys, specifically to inner journeys with the intention that many journeys are difficult and if individuals knew how difficult the journey was going to be, then most of us would not even commence the journey. A journey is simply a movement from one place to another. Physical journeys are gateways to inner journeys, which is a journey of the mind and spirit. Inner journeys take place when an individual experiences events or is involved in relationships that act as a catalyst to gain greater understanding about themselves and the world. Inner journeys can be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The metaphor transfers the journey from a physical one. The persona is confronted with the choice of two roads, both fairly similar two roads diverged in a yellow wood , and must decide which one he wants to travel. This is similar to Lewis s situation where he has to decide between politics, and true love and fidelity and which is more important. The persona, with ultimately choosing the one that was grassy and wanted wear and the one less travelled by . He wanted to break away from the norm and experience something new. This road may be more rewarding despite the fact it presents more challenges. The inner journey is depicted through the use of language techniques such as, extended metaphor, first person pronoun, repetition and symbolism. The use of first person pronoun I shows that it is a personal journey where choices need to be made. The repetition of I in the last stanza highlights the speaker s solitude and that he is proud of the choice he has made and I I took the one less travelled by , also emphasises that we are responsible for our own decisions on our own journey. It helps the audience connect to the poem and inturn reflect on their own inner journey experiences. Frost uses symbolism in the word in the first line of the first stanza in yellow of the wood. This symbolises the season autumn and the autumnal time in ones life where time is running out and decisions need to be made, this demonstrates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Affordable Care Act has been called by many names such as Obama Care or healthcare overhaul. The healthcare overhaul is one of the rare policies that has been developed, but not tweaked to perfection; it may never be tweaked to satisfy everyone, but it could still improve. According to the article entitled The Science of Muddling Through by Charles Lindblom Policy is not made once and for all; it is made and re made endlessly (Lindblom, 1959, pp. 86). The act of policy making is based on consecutive approximations to some sought after objective in which the ultimately desired objective continuously changes under reconsideration (Lindblom, 1959, pp. 86). Due to the fact, the Affordable Care Act was an overhaul unlike any other in America in regards to healthcare it has received a great deal of attention nationwide. All the attention seems to have gotten people to thinking about our health care system in comparison to others countries health care systems and what is best for the United States. According to Delivering Health Care in America: A Systems Approach. Sixth ed., the United States leads the world in the latest and greatest in medical technology, training and research. Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism Summary The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism In the enduring work The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, sociologist Mark Weber argues that certain elements of the Protestant religion helped give rise to Modern Capitalism. More specifically, he asserted that the economic system has basic values and ideas that are strongly rooted in this form of Christianity s principles. However, he emphasized that it was not the sole cause of the creation of capitalism. Furthermore, I realized the connection between religion and capitalism that I never knew before. The idea of an economic system having ties to religious beliefs is a foreign concept. The only reason I became interested in the environment was when I found out about environmental justice and environmental racism. In other words, because of people. Before I made that connection sometime in high school, I, like many others, never viewed nature as something that should be, rather something that just was. There are many ways that this animal could have become extinct. Besides humans there were no major predators known to kill this animal. Another is that the young sea minks couldn t stay alive because the parents either got trapped or killed. • 22. Class Struggle in Robert Frost s Poem Out, Out Essay Class Struggle in Robert Frost s Poem Out, Out Robert Frost s poem Out, Out is developed around a clear and unquestionable moment: a horrifying accident in which a young boy is mutilated by a buzz saw. Frost s underlying message, however, isn t nearly as straightforward. As the poem develops, two clear levels of interpretation seem to surface. While on the basic level the poem would seem to be a simple metaphor for man s struggles with nature, a more careful analysis suggests a level of interpretation far more relevant to humanity as a whole. On the most basic level, Frost s Out, Out begins by establishing the primary character the dominant voice in the form of a buzz saw. When the narrator writes that The buzz saw ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the conflict between man and nature is expanded into a conflict between man s destructive qualities and his innocent acceptance of the natural world. At the climax of Out, Out Frost clearly reveals the horrible nature of the conflict within man. When the saw, / As if to prove saws knew what supper meant, / Leaped out at the boys hand, or seemed to leap, the boy is horribly mutilated both as an individual and as a representation of mankind s innocence towards nature. The saw, as an embodiment of the destructive qualities of man, takes the boys hand and, with it, the boy s innocence. When Frost writes that the boy swung toward them holding up the hand, / Half in appeal, but half as if to keep / The life from spilling he seems to be presenting the boys final appeal to remain innocent and free of corruption before nature. His appeal, however, is clearly denied when the boy s life and innocence fades into Little Less Nothing! Thus, Frost s Out, Out would seem, on the outward level, to be a representation of man s struggle both with himself and with nature. It would not be surprising, given Frost s affinity for nature, to assume that Out, Out is, indeed, merely a poem born out of Frost s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Various European countries, including Spain, England, France, etc., followed Portugal s example by utilizing their progressive naval technology. These technological advancements led to the crossing of oceans and eventually the circumnavigation of the world. These Portuguese sailing techniques were implemented by explorers such as Christopher Columbus, John Cabot, Hernando Cortes, Francisco Pizarro, and Bernal Castillo allowing them to travel by sea to places such as Africa, East Asia, the Caribbean, and the Americas. These nations and explorers were persuaded to put in the time and effort to complete these complex expeditions by three essential motivations. Financial gain, political dignity, and religious expansion were fundamental motivators for the European Age of Exploration. The accumulation of wealth for individuals as well as nations, propelled European Exploration. For instance, Hernando Cortes travelled to Central America with a key motivation of obtaining gold. Polk, Louisiana for his last move which is where his father retired from the military. In Louisiana, Alan attended Leesville Junior High and High School. He graduated with honors in 1992. He enrolled at Northwestern State University for the fall semester. However, he was working full time, had an hour long commute to classes, and a new girlfriend that would soon be his wife. The Discovery of Vesicle Transportation System Essay On October 7th 2013, the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine jointly to James E. Rothman, Randy W. Schekman and Thomas C. Sudhof for their discoveries of machinery regulating vesicle traffic, a major transport system in our cells . Before this research, knowledge about the vesicle transportation system that eukaryotic cells utilized was essentially limited to what could be observed, including its various tasks and actions and its huge significance in cellsurvival. The question that remained unanswered, however; was exactly how this system was able to perform and control its tasks with such efficiency and precision throughout the cell body and beyond. Therefore, Rothman,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This sophisticated intracellular setup has understandingly raised questions about its mechanics and remained an enigma until the three Nobel Laureates presented their discoveries. Randy Schekman was able to identify the genes that controlled vesicle trafficking through the use of yeast cells and it s genetics as a model. In order to identify which genes participate in vesicle transportation, Schekman used genetic screening, which is a process where mutant organisms are created and isolated based on the desired phenotype to determine the presence of a gene associated with a disorder. Through this genetic screening, Randy Schekman observed mutated yeast cells and isolated those with flawed vesicle transport systems. He observed that these cells experienced congestion of vesicles in certain areas of the cell, specifically in the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi complex and the cell surface. Therefore he was able to accredit control of vesicle trafficking to the twenty three specific genes he later identified and classified in relationship to the location of the vesicle blocks. James Rothman discovered how vesicles are able to fuse with its target membrane when transporting molecules by a protein complex. Rothman was able to arrive to this discovery through the use of his work with a specific viral protein. He used a system where infected cells would produce the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sheriff s Department who testified at the Sleepy Lagoon trial is quoted as saying: Let us view it from the biological basis. . . Total disregard for human life has always been universal throughout the Americas in the human population. And this Mexican element feels a desire to kill or at least to draw blood (Tobar, 1997). On top of the racism faced in the courtroom was the media bias against the Mexican American population. In the process of covering events in the city, the then Hearst owned papers did a series of articles on the pachuco gangs, depicting Mexican American neighborhoods as being fraught with violence, places of raping and pillaging (Tobar, 1997). This was the atmosphere of the city at the time of the Sleepy Lagoon murder in 1942, when the body of Jose Diaz was found at a common swimming hole after a party. Because of the public outrage over pachuco gangs, which was instigated by the media, the sheriff s department went on a sweep of the city s barrios, rounding up and arresting over 600 young men in connection to the Sleepy Lagoon case. Eventually 24 men were indicted for murder, and 12 were convicted (Tobar, 1997). During the trial in early 1943, the defendants were forced to stay within a prisoners box and not ...
