The Density Den ( Experiment 4.3 )
The Density Den (Experiment 4.3)
Taken from Obook (aim, materials and method)
Date: Monday 15th June
Partners: Nicole and Grace
Introduction:
When people think of Archimedes they often think of the famous tale of his bath, and how he helped
discover density whilst unknowingly using the displacement method.
Density is the mass and volume of substances which is different in the 3 states of matter. The density
of the 3 matters can often be affiliated with the amount of space in between the particles. In the matter
gas particles are quite spread out so they have a low density whether as in the matter Solid particles
are tightly packed together and have a higher density.
Density is often used when comparing the heaviness of two objects.
STATION A
Aim: To measure the density of liquid water
Materials:
10 mL measuring cylinder
50 mL measuring cylinder
Electronic balance
Water
Calculator
Method:
1.Measure the mass of the 10 mL measuring cylinder. Record its mass in grams.
2. Remove the measuring cylinder from the balance and add 6.0 mL of water to it.
3. Measure the mass of the cylinder and water. Calculate the mass of the water by subtracting kkthe
mass of the cylinder from the combined mass of the cylinder and water.
4. Calculate the density of the water (see Numeracy lab on page 145) and record your answer.
5. Repeat the experiment with the 50 mL measuring cylinder and 20mL of water. Calculate the
kkdensity of water.

Measuring The Ability Of Correctly Recall Different...
The primary outcome in the current study was measuring the ability to correctly recall different
character sets that included similar or dissimilar distractor tasks. To test this hypothesis, the number of
correctly recalled character sets were analyzed by a 2 (character set: consonants vs. digits) X 2
(distractor task: word based vs. number based) between subjects ANOVA. The main effect for
character sets was not statistically significant, F(1, 106) = 1.16, p = .284, ηpÂČ = .01. The main effect
for distractor tasks also produced non statistically significant results, F(1, 106) = 1.0, p = .758, ηpÂČ =
.001 . Lastly the interaction effect showed a non statistically significant result F(1, 106) = 1.22, p =
.271, ηpÂČ = .011. Descriptive statistics for these data can be found in Table 1. The secondary outcome
in the current study was measuring the perceived difficulty of learning the character sets, and having
to recall them with a similar or dissimilar distractor task. Using a 2 (character set: consonants vs.
digits) X 2 (distractor task: word based vs. number based) between subjects ANOVA to analyze the
perceived difficulty of the character sets and distractor tasks. The main effect for character set
difficulty also showed a non statistically significant main effect F(1, 106) = .000. As for the main
effect for distractor type, a non statistically significant result was reported F(1, 106) = 3.06 p = .337,
ηpÂČ = .009. Lastly, the interaction effect also resulted in a

H C Studebaker
In early 1852 in South Bend, Indiana, Henry and Clement Studebaker operated a blacksmith shop
where they made metal parts for freight wagons. Unsatisfied with their occupation, the brothers sought
to become entrepreneurs and thus H C Studebaker, an American wagon and automobile manufacturer,
was founded in February of 1852. While their initial profits were from small orders such as horseshoes
and replacement parts for wagons, their true success came from production of wagons for the United
States Army in 1857 when they produced 100 wagons in 6 months. In April of 1858, their younger
brother John Mohler, a.k.a. J.M., joined the business as the primary investor of H C Studebaker and
bought out Henry s share so Henry could pursue a career

How To Write A Personal Narrative
My family consist of my parents, my twin brothers Joshua and Jesus, my sister Marilyn and myself.
Growing up my parents were very strict. Our typical day was to go to school and come straight home
after school. We were not allowed to participate in any outside school activities because we did not
live in a safe neighborhood. As a result my siblings and I grew up really close to each other since we
usually only interacted among our self s. In our family my dad is the head of our house hold and he
was predominantly responsible for all the decision makings in our home. My dad ran his house hold in
a very traditional Mexican manner. No one ever questions his rules as a result there was very little
communication in our family. This eventually led ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My dad was adamant that I would not get a license until I was at least eighteen. He refused to teach
me to drive even though he would take my sixteen year old brothers out every weekend for driving
lesson. My dad refusal to teach me how to drive. Only motivated me to learn how to drive on my own.
In high school in I had a couple of friends that own cars and they gladly taught me how to drive
afterschool. Eventually, I acquired enough driving experience that I felt confident enough to take my
driving test. When I asked my dad to take me to the Department of Motor Vehicles to take my test he
said no . All he said was that it was just a waste of time since I did not know how to drive I begged for
over a month. Eventually, he said yes and I made my appointment when the day came for me to take
my driving test my dad was confident that I was not going to pass the test. To his surprise and mine I
was passed the exam on the first try. This was the first step in gaining my independence from my
parents. The next one was getting a car, again my dad said no . However, I was lucky enough that one
of my uncles was letting go of one of his trucks and he was giving it to me for my eighteen birthday.
At this point my dad said that if I wanted a car I would have to pay for my own gas and any
maintenance the car may need. Therefore, I needed to get a job and that is exactly what I did. I think

Neolithic Revolution Essay
Introduction:
The emergence of agriculture was a major stepping stone in human history. During this birth of
agriculture, also known as the Neolithic revolution, humans began inhabiting permanent settlements,
grow their own crops, and domesticate both plants and animals for food (Weisdorf, 2005).
Considering humans have been hunter gatherers for the majority of their approximately 7 million
years of existence, the emergence of agriculture in the Old World only occurring 10,000 5,000 years
ago, marks a significant transformation in food sustenance techniques (Weisdorf, 2005). However, this
turning point in history is associated with both positive and negative implications. There is much
controversy over whether or not the introduction of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early Neolithic remains found at Catal HĂŒyĂŒk showed similar pathology, in which porotic hypertosis
affect approximately 41% of the population (Angel, 1971). In addition, transverse linear hypoplasia
markers were common on teeth throughout the population, these are generally indicators of early
childhood stresses such as disease or malnutrition (Angel, 1971). From these two sites, it can clearly
be seen that the diet composition had a great effect on the health of Neolithic era humans. The
excessive amount of skeletal markers that indicate malnutrition can suggest the Neolithic diet lacked
the nutrients needed for humans to be healthy. The Alepotrypa skeletal remains had also shown high
incidents of osteoarthritis generally located in the spine, this could be an indicator of a physically
stress full lifestyle (Papathanasiou, 2005). The stress markers on these bones are very different from
early hunter gatherers who were generally free of dietary and activity influenced diseases (O Keefe
Cordain, 2004). This comparison is fairly significant as Neolithic individuals had a very different
lifestyle from that of the hunter gatherers. Evidently, early Neolithic individuals likely participated in
much more labor intense activities than hunter gatherers during daily life. Regardless of the causes for
dietary and stress related skeletal markers, it can be seen that the Neolithic populations experienced
poor health in comparison to hunter gatherers. Neolithic populations

Birth.Movies.Death is giving us more insight into the ongoing struggles at Warner Brothers. Batman v
Superman made a lot of money but sources at WB are telling a different story despite the large sum
that was made. Zack Snyder and Geoff Johns were surprised by the critical reviews and sour audience
reaction to their introduction to the DC cinematic universe and the executives were not happy with the
movie s take over all. This is a problem for the studio because the Justice League movie started

Early Kabbaah Research Paper
The Jewish mystical speculation during the first hundred years of the movement was known by the
Hebrew term Kabbalah, which means, something handed down by tradition. The beginnings of this
movement are usually set in the last decade or two of the twelfth century C.E., and this period of
Kabbalistic incubation is generally thought to end with the composition of the masterful Sef ha Zohar
(The Book of Splendor). Thus, early Kabbalah is the period of Jewish mystical creativity in
Kabbalistic form bracketed by two literary creations of mystical theosophy: the Sef ha Bahir (The
Book of Brilliance) marks the beginning of this stage and the Zohar, written by the Spaniard Kabbalist
Moses de Leon (c. 1240 1305), marks the end.
Kabbalah is a unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only later, and as a result of the contact with medieval Jewish philosophy, the Kabbalah became a
Jewish mystical theology, more or less systematically elaborated. This process brought about a
separation of the mystical, speculative elements from the occult and especially the magical elements, a
divergence that at times was quite distinct but was never total. It is expressed in the separate usage of
the terms Kabbalah iyyunit (speculative Kabbalah) and Kabbalah ma asit (practical Kabbalah), evident
from the beginning of the fourteenth century, which was simply an imitation of Maimonides division
of philosophy into speculative and practical in chapter fourteen of his Millot ha Higgayon. There is no
doubt that some Kabbalistic circles (including those in Jerusalem up to modern times) preserved both
elements in their secret doctrine, which could be acquired by means of revelation of by way of
initiation rites. Once rabbinic Judaism had crystallized in the halakhah, the majority of the creative
forces aroused by new religious stimuli, which neither tended nor had the power to change the
outward form of a firmly established halakhic Judaism, the power to change the outward form of a

Abolishment Of Slavery In The 1860 s
Slavery in America began during the early 17th century and followed with the abolitionist movement
in the late 1800 s. This movement created a continental divide between southern and northern states.
In the south, there are the Southern Democrats who supported the idea of slavery and believed that the
institution was necessary for the survival of the south. Southern Democrats also argued that the North
turned their back on the real America. While the northern states were composed of Republicans, such
as Abraham Lincoln, whose efforts to exterminate slavery eventually caused the absorption of anti
slavery Whigs and most of the Know Nothing party. In the years that followed, slavery fueled the fire
that started the Civil War. The vast majority of southern states did not favor the abolishment of slavery
in the 1850 s nor 1860 s. On the contrary, the states divided themselves of the increasing problem of
slave versus free territories. The Compromise of 1820, also known as the Missouri Compromise,
admitted Maine to the Union as a free state in 1820 and Missouri as a slave state in 1821. In addition,
the compromise prohibited the use of slavery in all parts of the Louisiana Purchase north of the ...

and gave southerners the authority to bring slaves into Kansas. Although, the north saw the act as a
way for the south to extend slavery just as they did with the Fugitive Slave Act. By mid 1850, the
southern pro slavery party and free soil Whigs division could no longer be

Attachment Theory Is Defined As The Emotional And...
Attachment Theory is defined as the emotional and psychological bond between a child and their
caregiver, which starts from birth and is believed to last a lifetime. (Arxcis, 2017). The first published
works of attachment theory were done by John Bowlby, a child psychiatrist, in 1969, with Mary
Ainsworth, a Canadian psychologist, later collaborating with Bowlby to include different attachment
types. Bowlby s theory, which was influenced from Konrad Lorenz s idea of familial imprinting,
stated that attachment bonds would begin to form up until nine months of age in an infant. From nine
months, up until two to three years of age, attachment types would be observable (Arxcis, 2017). In
the 1950 s, Ainsworth set out on an in depth study to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether they are sick, tired, hungry, or upset, caregivers of children with secure attachment most
times consistently engage the child when cued, and provide predictable, supportive emotional and
physical reactions that the child has learned to rely on. Conversely, in avoidant attachment caregivers
have demonstrated that they cannot be relied on to provide emotional support in response to the child s
needs. The caregivers have either reacted to the child s distress in a cold manner or ignored them
completely. Children who are insecurely ambivalent attached often have caregivers that are
inconsistent in their response to the child s distress. The child exhibits escalating behavior such as
cries turning into shrieks and screaming. They appear to want contact with the caregiver through cues,
but will resist contact when attempted by the caregiver. Disorganized attachment is a result of a
caregiver who is inappropriate in their response to their child, responding sexually, physically or
verbally abusive. The children may present with odd behavior and act out. (Arxcis, 2017). 10 year old

Supreme Court Decision Making Essay
Name Instructor s Name Course Date The Supreme Court as a National Policy Maker The polarized
politics of the Roberts Court article examines the Roberts Court and its relationship to the Obama s
government after the results of midterm elections in 2014. It starts by analyzing the structure of the
Court during the past 40 years. The court has been structured by electoral politics and it has been seen
to be more conservative, divided and polarized in its decision making and this reflects the politics of
the post 1968 electoral regime. The article also looks at the impact of the 2014 midterm election. The
article shows that the control of the senate by Republican will lead to constrain to the president s
ability to shape the federal courts proceeding (Clayton and Salamone 739). There is likelihood of the
Republican leaving the composition of the current Supreme Court intact and also leave Justice
Kennedy as the pivotal swing vote. It will also elevate the Court as a campaign issue in the coming

The cases in the court involve alternatives which completely disagree with the society such as in cases
of segregation and economic regulation making the setting of the case political. However, Court s
decisions rests upon the fiction that it is not a political institution but a legal one which causes further
problems rather than solving the already existing problem (Dahl 282). Those who believe that the
Court does only one role of making policies then this raises the question of who gets what and why.
There are two different conflicting criteria in determining and appraising the role of the Court. The
article says that every conflict in a given society is as a result of dispute between the majority who are

The Importance Of Accounting As Well As Ethics
Follow up to the Interviews I am very fortunate to have been able to interview three business owners
that I come in contact with almost daily from working at a golf course. I asked them all a wide variety
of questions both through interviews as well as surveys (see appendices.) I asked them numerous
questions both relating to accounting as well as ethics in the business world. They all game me a large
range of answers to the majority of the questions that I asked them, however they all had two things
that were common answers. First off they all have very favorable views of accountants. If a problem

First, if it were not for the people at the top of the Enron Company making horribly unethical
decisions than none of this would have happened. However because this is an accounting project and
the focus of this paper is on accounting, I personally believe that the Andersen firm should be held
most responsible for what occurred. They let the fraud and deceit occur right under their noses. There
are three terms that from auditing class that I remember more than the rest of the class itself. First is
competence. There is no doubt in my mind based on the research and the facts that the AA team didn t
have the proper training and competence to do their job at Enron. AA was a top five auditing firm in
the entire world. To be working for the company and their standards you had to be able to do the job
properly. Second is professional skepticism and objectivity. Both of these played a huge role in
allowing the scandal to occur and then continue on. The AA employees worked right alongside the
Enron top officials. They were greatly influenced by these officials and never questioned the
legitimacy of the reported financial statements. Finally and perhaps most important is the term
whistleblower. All it would have taken is for one or two employees from either company to take the
knowledge they had public. It would have been especially easy for those

The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In Nigeria
The perception of Africa is often limited to poverty, disease, starvation and inequality. In 1999,
extreme poverty affected 58% of the African population. That number has now fallen to 35%. With
over 500 companies generating a turnover involving billions of dollars each year, Africa is not
emerging it s already here.
Surprising to most, Africa is the world leader in online banking and mobile money transactions. The
continent faces many challenges and difficulties, but Africa is evolving and already boasts numerous
economies.
It s no longer a continent of conflict. Many foreigners forget that most countries in Africa are
democratically run.
Africa s growth can be tracked in multiple areas, such as the improvement in democracy in
government, population growth, demographics, education, and an uptake in IT and mobile phone
usage.
Nigeria
One in every five Africans is Nigerian; that is an indicator of how large and populated Nigeria is.
Often referred to as the Giant of Africa owing to this reputation, Nigeria has a population of
approximately 187 million, and the largest youth population in the world. The country is home to over
500 ethnic groups, with Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba being the three largest.
Governed by President Muhammadu Buhari, who took over from Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, the
country is run by a presidential government system consisting of the executive, the legislature, and the
judiciary.

Why The Secret Service Came
Why the Secret Service Came to be
Jonathan W. Taylor
Ivy Tech Community College
Abstract
The United States of America has an elite group of men and women who protect their President, and
handle monetary crimes such as counterfeiting, and financial crimes, they are called the United States
Secret Service. These top agents work hard daily to crack down on fraudulent crimes, and keep the
Commander in Chief alive. This report will highlight their work from 1850 1901. 3 presidents were
killed in this time period, and much of the USA s currency was fake and useless. All that considered,
somebody had to step in and fix things. The Secret Service was the saving grace, and helped to get the
nation back on the right track. This paper will show how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With over one third of the nation s money being fake, it became a real issue. When there is fake
money in the economy, it drains the value of the US dollar. It drains the value because, the more bills
that are out there, the less value there is to the ones in people s wallets, which tears apart the nation s
economy. ( U.S Secret Service in History, n.d.) Even today the US still takes counterfeiting very
serious, a single charge of carry fraudulent money can add up to 250,000 dollars in fines, and possibly
20 years in prison (Followill, n.d). Fake money still affects us today, and should be taken very
seriously. Death of Lincoln
On April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln should have approved the secret service as personal protection.
His decision to not approve the Secret Service for personal protection of himself could have saved his
life. Lincoln went to the play wife his wife, Mary. Meanwhile, there was a deadly lapse in protection
of Lincoln. John Parker was a local police officer assigned to honest Abe that night, but could not
contain his drinking problem. Parker went to have a drink. After that, John Wilkes Booth snuck, aimed
his Derringer pistol, and shot Lincoln in the back of the head. Lincoln was rushed across the street
where he died hours later. This is sad by how easily this could have been prevented this murder.
Unfortunately, the US Government did not learn their lesson quite yet.

Research Paper On Coastal Erosion
Coastal erosion is an ecological hazard that has been occurring for centuries however rising sea levels
and increasingly erratic weather patterns have the potential to advance the danger and destruction to
much greater levels. While the enormous wave action created by huge storms such as hurricanes is the
most contributive to coastal erosion, the normal but repetitive wave action against the shoreline is just
as destructive over the long term. Coastal erosion is the wearing away of land and the removal of
beach or dune sediments by wave action, tidal currents, wave currents, drainage or high winds. The
coastal land is made up of many and various types of wetlands. Wetland types found in coastal
watersheds include salt marshes, bottomland hardwood swamps, fresh marshes, mangrove swamps,
and shrubby depressions known in the southeast United States as pocosins. Coastal wetlands cover
about 40 million acres and make up 38 percent of the total wetland acreage in the conterminous
United States. 81 percent of coastal wetlands in the conterminous United States are located in the
southeast.
Coastal erosion is major problem in our world today. Water is the biggest factor that shapes the earth.

thrown against the shore by waves. The sediments grind against the land, weakening the structural
integrity of the coastline. Attrition is also a form of erosion. It s the continued wave action hurls stones
and other material at the land, which smooths and breaks up the rocks on the coast, dislodging them

The molecules are endogenous and exogenous ligands. This binding process is significant in
pathophysiology of sepsis. Endogenous is an infection that occurs internally. While exogenous is an
infection that developed from an outside factor.
The poster showed that mice with this receptor increased inflammation, decreased survival, and
increased bacterial organisms. Another thing that increased was the expression of SRA on monocytes
and macrophages. This means that SRA is binding more often to the negatively charged molecules in
the exogenous and endogenous molecules.
Flow cytometry was used to determine the SRA expression on the control group and the group that
they treated with LPS media. When treated with LPS, the expression increased. LPS is a TLR 4
ligand. They also mixed LPS and PAM3CSK4, which is TLR 2 ligand. When they mixed the two, the
expression was no different than the control cells.
The way they determined the mechanism that increased SRA expression was they treated the cell line

understanding of memory and knowledge, but I recognize the lack of importance of memory even in
my own schooling and day to day activities. Even thinking of a mnemonic device for this exercise,
though several came to mind, was challenging. The few that were taught in school were the first that
come to mind, but these mnemonic devices would only make sense in a literate society. For instance,
the ROY G BIV mnemonic for the colors of the rainbow, as well as a song set to the tune of Pop goes
the Weasel to remember the quadratic equation, center around letters and names that only make sense
when put in the context of a written world. I wanted to think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Though in some cases, like Ong referenced, literate people memorize and recite words in order to
accomplish something or perhaps infuse the phrase with power, like in the case of speeches, liturgies,
etc., it seems as if in literate cultures, the repetition that comes with memorization almost cheapens the
importance of the words that are meant to spoken with power. Ong referenced spiritual words in
particular, referencing the ways that liturgies are read aloud and sometimes scriptures/prayers are
spoken aloud in order to show the sacred, communal nature of the text, for instance in the case of The
Lord s Prayer. But, from my experience, the phrases do not carry the power. Instead, the power is only
in the attitude when speaking/reading through these phrases. The actual words seem to take a
backseat, behind the person speaking

EC 201 Rumination Report
Rumination on EC 201 When this semester started I felt sure that this class would be an easy one for
me and that I would not have any problem passing this class, after all I was an experienced mom and
worked in a daycare setting for more than three years. That is a very arrogant position for me to take.
As I look back over this semester the one thing I wish more than anything is that I should have taken
the time to add this class to my schedule first thing. This class would have given the background I
needed to not feel so lost in some of my classes. I have learned a great deal and have grown
professionally in many ways. Three ways come to mind easily. The first thing I learned is what we

Title and Author: The Title is I Am Zlatan. The title reflects Zlatan s big ego and the self belief he has

Old Major In George Orwell s Animal Farm
Old Major is one of the most influential animals in Animal Farm. He was the philosopher of the
animal rebellion and inspired the animals to act on their wish for freedom and equality. Likewise,
Marx essentially did the same thing with socialism and believed that humans deserved equality. With
the knowledge that Orwell wrote Animal Farm as a satire, many are able to see the similarities
between Old Major and Karl Marx. One of the many similarities that Old Major shares with Marx is
they both were thought to be influential philosophers in politics. In Animal Farm, Old Major is a
respected figure; all of the animals listen to him and respect his ideas. Like Old Major, Marx was well
respected and many thought him to be the most influential socialist thinker (Kreis, 2008). As well as
Marx, Old Major s ideas about what life should be like for the animals, was widely accepted amongst
the other animals in the book. Additionally, Marx believed that ... Show more content on

look up to Marx as being one of the most influential people in the ideas of communism and socialism.
Marx is also thought to be the influential speaker in socialism (Kreis, 2008). Old Major was only
thought as the philosopher of the idea of animalism. Throughout the entirety of Animal Farm, Orwell
continues to criticize Marx s ideas through Old Major. He makes Marx and socialism out to be very
harsh by some of the things Old Major says, such as; The only good human is a dead one. (Bocox,
1999). Old Major is also thought to be more like Lenin because created a system in which he thought

find it so fascinating is because of how easy it is to find the information needed for how much data it

Fallingwater Vs Kentuck Knob Essay
Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob are two beautiful homes built by a man known as an architectural
genius, Frank Lloyd Wright. These houses have gained such notoriety in the architectural world that
both were named as National Historic Landmarks. The houses are located very close to each other
resting in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of Fayette County in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Fallingwater is approximately 43 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. This home was built partly over a
waterfall on Bear Run in the Laurel Highlands. The house was built between 1936 and 1939 for Edgar

employee involvement. In order to choose the right type of employee involvement in the process of
change organizations should pay attention to the criteria s as follows; roles, skills, resource,
commitment, outputs, and data (Vidal, 2007). Furthermore the author argues that choosing the right
type of employee involvement effects positively in the process of change, commitment and also
reduces cost. Whereas choosing the wrong employee involvement type will negative impact in time

order to gain the level of the commitment during the change, the organizations should highly consider
to use some of the other involvement tools such as; communication, education, group discussion,

Section 2 highlights the economic case in favour of teacher salaries and identifies the government

addition to the basic salary, teachers are paid allowances with allocations relative to the job group

The American Indians were known as migratory hunters who followed the buffalo as their main
staple. This led to the belief that Indians had no attachment to any particular lands. This belief ignored
the facts that some tribes harvested crops and lived in settled villages. Further push to the West to
develop the land resulted in the removal of Indians from those lands.
As the Civil War closed, the Indians with the white settlers moving into their lands and a main source
of livelihood the buffalo threatened with extinction, was faced with a fundamental choice: surrender or
fight. Many chose to fight. In 1887 the Dawes Act made it possible for Indians to own their own land.
This Act aiming to end tribal life authorized the President to allot portions of land to individual
Indians 160 acres to each head of family and 80 acres to others. The land was to be used to establish
private farms, and authorized the Secretary of Interior to negotiate with the tribes for purchasing
quot;excess quot; lands for non Indian settlement. The real purpose of the act was to further break up
the tribes by acquiring more land. Tribes as a whole were not willing to give up any portion of the
land, but as individual owners, the Indians were more liable to sell the land. This resulted in the Indian
land holdings decreasing from 138 million acres to 48 million half of this being barren land.

Benefits Of Classical Instrumental Music Education
Introduction Classical instrumental music education has developed into a luxury that mostly only the
middle classes and higher classes can afford. While classroom music education at schools provides an
overview of musical knowledge and performance, it does not always allow the opportunity for an in
depth specialisation in instrumental practice. Music education is important for children s development
and should be accessible to all. Multiple studies on the impact of music on the brain have been
conducted and the field of study is still in its early stages of research, but experts agree that music
education, and especially the practise of a musical instrument, is important for all children.
Unfortunately the cost of music lessons and other barriers restrict its access to underprivileged
children in particular. Non profit organisations around the world are making classical music education

Marketing On Christmas Gift Exchange And Asymmetrical...
This paper looks at the gift giving tradition between the Natives and the Europeans. Carlos and Lewis
s Marketing in the Land of Hudson Bay article explains in great detail the strategies used by the
Hudson Bay Company to develop a trading relationship with the Natives, as well as the trends in
trading. The article also elucidates that in order to understand its customer s culture and demands, the
Hudson Bay Company participated in Native traditions one of which was to present gifts to Native
traders before the actual trading. As the importance of this tradition is emphasized in the article as well
as the data presented, this paper aims to explore the influence of receiving gifts on trade between the
two parties. Gift exchange is a common practice among many countries and many professions. The
economists look at gifts as an incentive to increase productivity. This theory is tested and proved in the
following two articles.
The article Regarding gifts on Christmas gift exchange and asymmetrical business relations by
Jeannette Lemmergaard, and Sara Louise Muhr, focuses on the impression the company gifts can
make on the business partners during Christmas. The authors argue that corporate gift exchange
between business partners at Christmas is an attempt to build personal relationships, as a gift
represents social and cultural value than just the economic value. The article extensively investigates
the regard and obligation phenomenon, which is explained in the article as:

Tea was declared the National Drink of England in 1784. The eighteenth century saw the
transformation of tea as an everyday necessity for the poor and working class of the British society. To
meet the domestic demand at home, the British East India Company imported great volumes of tea
from China. The tea import increased from an estimated 64 tons in 1711 to 6800 tons in 1791. Even
heavy import tax could not deter an increasingly expanding domestic market for the Chinese tea. As
tea drinking had become obsession with the British society, consumption of tea replaced home brewed
beer, gin, milk and traditional infusions of indigenous plants. This great transformation in the

What Links Disciplines Of Literature, Philosophy And...
What links the disciplines of literature, philosophy and mathematics? The answer is, quite simply,
fiction. Fiction has probably existed since the human brain was capable of imagination, either for
distraction or for the more functional purpose of envisioning hunt scenarios when our nomadic
ancestors would need to survive. Fiction can be defined as a literary tool that fools readers or theatre
goers into thinking that the author possesses certain knowledge about the world (Plato et al., 1963) but
is usually understood as a world or scenario that is created by human imagination. However, that
doesn t necessarily make it untrue, as fiction can be based on reality and can become a useful

Numbers and equations simply to not concretely exist in our world. Maths is, after all, like any written
language, glorified scribbling that somehow resonates with meaning in our minds. Take as an example
4 = 2 + 2 . This string of symbols translates itself into what we understand is an equation: the two
sides of the = sign are the same. However, neither 4 not 2 + 2 exist. They are not visually identical. Yet
somehow we accept that connecting them with the = symbol indicates that their numerical value is
equivalent. Like fiction, maths merely requires us to suspend our disbelief long enough for us to
understand whatever story or message the author is trying to impart. This philosophical position is
called Mathematical Fictionalism. Its proponents believe that mathematics are purely fictional but are
still functional as long as its purpose is not meant to be a mirror of reality (Leng, 2016). However, this
position calls into question the validity of mathematics. Fiction, if assumed completely truthful,
becomes a lie. So if mathematics are purely a human made language created to describe phenomena
that cannot be described in another language, how can we ascertain its precision and how much power
should we give it in a discussion? Mathematical entities do not exist concretely, yet we give them
characteristics and magnitudes that allow them to be ranked, ordered and even to interact amongst

result in higher CAUTI rates with an associated risk of CAUTI related bacteremia, unless appropriate
prevention efforts are implemented. The 2008 SHEA/APIC Guideline Infection Prevention and

Partnership Is An Arrangement Or A Form Of Business...
Partnership is an arrangement or a form of business organization in which two or more parties come
together to achieve specified economic objective. Each such party to the organization is known as
partner . The relationship between / among partners is governed by the partnership agreement. Some
of the common clauses relating to partnership are capital, profit/loss sharing ratio, tenor, object,
inclusion of new partner, retirement / exclusion of existing partner, dissolution of partnership etc.
Partnership is a separate entity, which has its own existence from its partners.
Partnership is not a taxable entity. A partnership is a form of business that works as a medium through
which its profits, losses, deductions, and credits pass directly to its partners. In turn, each partner
reports individually his /her share of the partnership s profits, loss, deductions etc. in his/her individual
tax return. This may result in increase or decrease in personal tax liability of a partner. Hence, for tax
reporting and payment purpose, a partnership is treated as an aggregate of individuals, who provide
capital and services to a joint business organization, rather than as a separate taxable entity.
Partnership Contribution:
Each partner brings in money (cash) / property or some intangible rights to contribute in the
partnership, in lieu of interest in the partnership. At the time of contribution, the partners need to
compute the tax basis of contribution for him and/or for partnership.

  • 6. Neolithic Revolution Essay Introduction: The emergence of agriculture was a major stepping stone in human history. During this birth of agriculture, also known as the Neolithic revolution, humans began inhabiting permanent settlements, grow their own crops, and domesticate both plants and animals for food (Weisdorf, 2005). Considering humans have been hunter gatherers for the majority of their approximately 7 million years of existence, the emergence of agriculture in the Old World only occurring 10,000 5,000 years ago, marks a significant transformation in food sustenance techniques (Weisdorf, 2005). In addition, transverse linear hypoplasia markers were common on teeth throughout the population, these are generally indicators of early childhood stresses such as disease or malnutrition (Angel, 1971). From these two sites, it can clearly be seen that the diet composition had a great effect on the health of Neolithic era humans. The excessive amount of skeletal markers that indicate malnutrition can suggest the Neolithic diet lacked the nutrients needed for humans to be healthy. The Alepotrypa skeletal remains had also shown high incidents of osteoarthritis generally located in the spine, this could be an indicator of a physically stress full lifestyle (Papathanasiou, 2005). The stress markers on these bones are very different from early hunter gatherers who were generally free of dietary and activity influenced diseases (O Keefe Cordain, 2004). This comparison is fairly significant as Neolithic individuals had a very different lifestyle from that of the hunter gatherers. Evidently, early Neolithic individuals likely participated in much more labor intense activities than hunter gatherers during daily life. Regardless of the causes for dietary and stress related skeletal markers, it can be seen that the Neolithic populations experienced poor health in comparison to hunter gatherers. • 8. Early Kabbaah Research Paper The Jewish mystical speculation during the first hundred years of the movement was known by the Hebrew term Kabbalah, which means, something handed down by tradition. The beginnings of this movement are usually set in the last decade or two of the twelfth century C.E., and this period of Kabbalistic incubation is generally thought to end with the composition of the masterful Sef ha Zohar (The Book of Splendor). Thus, early Kabbalah is the period of Jewish mystical creativity in Kabbalistic form bracketed by two literary creations of mystical theosophy: the Sef ha Bahir (The Book of Brilliance) marks the beginning of this stage and the Zohar, written by the Spaniard Kabbalist Moses de Leon (c. 1240 1305), marks the end. It is expressed in the separate usage of the terms Kabbalah iyyunit (speculative Kabbalah) and Kabbalah ma asit (practical Kabbalah), evident from the beginning of the fourteenth century, which was simply an imitation of Maimonides division of philosophy into speculative and practical in chapter fourteen of his Millot ha Higgayon. This movement created a continental divide between southern and northern states. In the south, there are the Southern Democrats who supported the idea of slavery and believed that the institution was necessary for the survival of the south. Southern Democrats also argued that the North turned their back on the real America. While the northern states were composed of Republicans, such as Abraham Lincoln, whose efforts to exterminate slavery eventually caused the absorption of anti slavery Whigs and most of the Know Nothing party. In the years that followed, slavery fueled the fire that started the Civil War. The vast majority of southern states did not favor the abolishment of slavery in the 1850 s nor 1860 s. Research Paper On Coastal Erosion Coastal erosion is an ecological hazard that has been occurring for centuries however rising sea levels and increasingly erratic weather patterns have the potential to advance the danger and destruction to much greater levels. While the enormous wave action created by huge storms such as hurricanes is the most contributive to coastal erosion, the normal but repetitive wave action against the shoreline is just as destructive over the long term. Coastal erosion is the wearing away of land and the removal of beach or dune sediments by wave action, tidal currents, wave currents, drainage or high winds. He makes Marx and socialism out to be very harsh by some of the things Old Major says, such as; The only good human is a dead one. (Bocox, 1999). As the Civil War closed, the Indians with the white settlers moving into their lands and a main source of livelihood the buffalo threatened with extinction, was faced with a fundamental choice: surrender or fight. Many chose to fight. In 1887 the Dawes Act made it possible for Indians to own their own land. This Act aiming to end tribal life authorized the President to allot portions of land to individual Indians 160 acres to each head of family and 80 acres to others. The land was to be used to establish private farms, and authorized the Secretary of Interior to negotiate with the tribes for purchasing quot;excess quot; lands for non Indian settlement. The real purpose of the act was to further break up the tribes by acquiring more land. Tribes as a whole were not willing to give up any portion of the land, but as individual owners, the Indians were more liable to sell the land. Yet somehow we accept that connecting them with the = symbol indicates that their numerical value is equivalent. Like fiction, maths merely requires us to suspend our disbelief long enough for us to understand whatever story or message the author is trying to impart. This philosophical position is called Mathematical Fictionalism. Its proponents believe that mathematics are purely fictional but are still functional as long as its purpose is not meant to be a mirror of reality (Leng, 2016). However, this position calls into question the validity of mathematics. Fiction, if assumed completely truthful, becomes a lie. So if mathematics are purely a human made language created to describe phenomena that cannot be described in another language, how can we ascertain its precision and how much power should we give it in a discussion?
