Los Angeles Riots Sociology
The Los Angeles riots in 1992 did not stem from the beating of Rodney King but stemmed from a
much larger problem. Individuals were frustrated with being placed in a social hierarchy based on the
color of their skin. The beating of Rodney King was the cherry on top for the bottled up frustration
people felt. In the United States, there is a social hierarchy, and the judicial system works differently
depending on where the individual is placed within the hierarchy. The riots were a non constructive
way to fight for equal rights within the judicial system, but many individuals were fed up with society
telling them where they should be placed. A social hierarchy has existed since the beginning of time.

Suppressing negative emotions can cause mental health concerns, but individuals with low social
power and low social status may use these strategies to avoid conflict (Langner, Social Hierarchy And
Depression: The Role Of Emotion Suppression ). The social hierarchy affects mental health in part
through a process of emotion suppression. It also does not help that some scholars suggest that the
more individuals aim at climbing the social hierarchy, the more society s hierarchy gets strong
(Bardoscia, The Social Climbing Game ). Pepi Leistyna states in her Social Class and Entertainment
television article that there are harsh realities that the poor and working class of color face, but
television and other media outlets show that the middle class is open to everyone (Leistyna 3). The
middle class has not been open to everyone, and the social hierarchy that has been the unwritten law
of where an individual is placed in society can explain this. The hierarchy is not only destructive for
individuals of color, but even European females and European families who have not came from
money. It is a frustrating reality that seems never to be changing and only getting worse. The country
is dividing into the two extremes. There is the rich who are getting richer and the poor who are getting
poorer. The majority of individuals who are getting poorer are

NEASC Accreditation Process
Good Morning EDL 605:
It was nice seeing you all Thursday night. I hope you are enjoying the weekend.
This past Thursday, I attempted to illustrate how the NEASC accreditation process drives school
improvement. My experience with the accreditation process at Coventry High School and Amity
Regional High School is common in all public high schools in the state of Connecticut, and across
New England. It is also a common experience in institutions of higher education. Sacred Heart s
teacher preparation program is currently going through the process of revising practices to align with
accrediting agency expectations. I can virtually guarantee that this process will improve the quality of
teacher prep programming at Sacred Heart. It is important

Frida Kahlo s Painting The Two Fridas
Frida Kahlo was an astonishing Mexican artist, who mainly painted self portraits after the fact she had
a bus accident. When the bus accident happened Frida Kahlo was stabbed by a steel handrail, which
went all the way through her hip, which was a serious fracture and left her in the hospital for several
weeks in the hospital to recover. The only good outcome out of this was that during her recovery time
she used her time painting so her talent came out to the world. She was married to another great
Mexican artist, Diego Rivera who was consider a muralist at the time. He was also a great influence
when she started painting. One of her paintings, The Two Frida s, shows us two Kahlo s and how one
person can feel and look like two totally different people after an emotional experience, in this case
the divorcement of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.

Same Sex Marriage Essay
What are others doing?
Canada is not the first country in the world to address whether and how to legally recognize same sex
unions. Indeed, Canada is coming to the debate later than many countries. Several countries have
debated this issue for many years and have come up with a variety of approaches, ranging from same
sex marriage in the Netherlands to the legal recognition of domestic partners, registered partnerships
and civil unions in Scandinavia, parts of Europe and parts of the United States. Although some of
these approaches appear to be similar, each is quite different, as it has been created to fit the particular
society and to comply with the specific constitutional and legal structures in each country. Most
countries have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alberta, in a bill before their legislature, has also raised the possibility of legal recognition for
unmarried couples. Some details are set out below. In addition to these laws, most provinces and
territories have now also legislated to provide some or all of the benefits and obligations of married
couples to common law gay and lesbian couples under provincial and territorial laws.
Quebec
Bill 84 — An Act instituting civil unions and establishing new rules of filiation — was passed by the
National Assembly in June 2002. The Act amends the Civil Code and a number of other provincial
laws to create a new status of civil union partners (open to both unmarried opposite sex and same sex
conjugal partners). Civil union partners have almost all of the same benefits and obligations under
provincial law as married couples do, including the legal relationship between the partner and any
children. A civil union can be dissolved by a court judgment, a notarized joint declaration (under some
circumstances) or upon the death of one of the partners. A partner to a civil union cannot marry
without first dissolving the civil union.
While ensuring equal treatment, the Act makes it clear that civil unions are not marriages, and retains
some legal distinctions between the two. For example, some provisions of the Civil Code that relate to
legal separation continue to apply only to married couples.

The First Of A New Historical Period
With the repeated financial crises that effected the global market economy in resent years, and with
the realization that many of the practices, behaviors, and political decision that led to the economic
crisis in the first place are still in place, one can only wonder if capitalism as an economic, social, and
political structure is coming to an end as we know it? What makes this predication more realistic now
than ever is the political changes that we are witnessing and the lack of social stability that is affecting
every corner of the planet; it seems that the seeds of change were already planted, and now we are
witnessing the early stages of a new historical period. However, a system, like capitalism, that became
part of the very nature of how societies function and exist is hard to overcome. In addition, this
unstable era is not the first for the capitalist system. In fact, lack of stability and conflict during WWII
only allowed capitalist countries, such as the U.S. and Japan, to emerge stronger, more dominant, and
more hegemonic. Thus, why would this period of time could by any different from the previous crises
that the capitalist system faced and overcame?
These debates have dominated the political economy field in the recent years, and in this paper, I will
attempt to cover some of the main argument in support of each of these points of view.
Many argued that capitalism, as we know it, in all of it variations and models, has came to an end.
Capitalism, as Marx had

Exosomes As A Whole Has Gained Momentum Through The Area...
The interest and research invested into the area of exosome biogenesis and the topic of exosomes as a
whole has gained momentum in the last decade (Urbanelli, L. et al. 2013). Their discovery in 1983,
detailed in two papers published in JCB (Harding et al) and in Cell (Pan and Johnstone), showed that
the nomenclature had been prescribed wrongly to a broad range of membrane vesicles that bud
directly from the plasma membrane (Clifford V. Harding. et al. 2013). When in fact the term exosome
more accurately describes small vesicles, ranging from 30 100nm in diameter (Urbanelli, L. et al.
2013), that originate via a different mechanism of budding than apoptotic bodies and microvesicles,
(Yu, S. et al. 2015).
Exosome function was initially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whilst exosomes have been retrieved in many body fluids, for example; blood, urine, saliva and
cerebrospinal fluid (Urbanelli, L. et al. 2013). They are recently thought to be present in all biological
fluids.
Exosome Biogenesis
Exosomes are exceptional from other types of vesicles based on a number of factors; including their
size (relatively small in comparison), morphology, cargo composition and most distinctly, their
endosomal origin (Théry C. 2002). Familiar types of vesicles such as microvesicles are formed at the
cell surface, budding directly from the plasma membrane (Alenquer, M. et al. 2015). Exosome
biogenesis follows an alternative method that begins in the early endosome (Huotari, J and Helemius,
A. 2011), whereby the ultimate result is the formation of intraluminal vesicles (IVL s) inside the
lumen of the endosome, this aggregate body is known as the multivesicular body (MVB) or the
multivesicular endosome (MVE).
Initially the early endosomal membrane, tube like in shape (Beach, A. et al, 2014), buds inwards via
intraluminal invagination (Lopez Verrilli, M and Court, F. 2013), randomly engulfing sections of the
cytosol contents such as the peripheral and transmembrane proteins. This formation of the IVL s
noticeably augments as the endosomes mature (Huotari, J and Helemius, A. 2011) and after
transformation the late endosome is more spherical in shape (Beach, A. et al. 2014). It is known

Short Story Samuel By Grace Paley
Samuel Death is an inevitable event. Most times we have no control over how or when it will happen
and in the short story, Samuel, by Grace Paley, a young boy loses his life while he and his friends
partake in a very dangerous game. An unfortunate situation, it was and it leaves you to ask yourself
the question Who s to blame? After thoroughly reading the story, it becomes quite clear that though
the boys were taking a huge risk and acting childish, they were just kids being kids and the people
surrounding them could have done more to help them. The onlookers couldn t have known what
would happen, but they also didn t do much to prevent such a tragedy. The four young boys in the
story Samuel are acting careless and risky as they think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Most of them looked stern in the face, hoping that the boys would sense their extreme disapproval.
One of the ladies stated she wanted to get up and say, be careful you dumb kids, get off that platform
or I ll call a cop. But then decided against it because they boys were Black and she was afraid they
would laugh at her and embarrass her. Another lady figured the kid s mothers knew where they were
so she didn t feel the need to intrude. With no interference from anyone the boys continued on playing
around and the train began to slow down and as it was slowing down the lady who was afraid of
embarrassment, saw the boys jerk forward and backward and grab the swinging guard chains. The
lady then decided it was finally time to save the boys for good so she stood up determined as ever and
went over to the boys and said, You boys will be hurt. You ll be killed. I m going to call the conductor
if you don t just go into the next car and sit down and be quiet. Listening to the lady two of the boys
said Yes m and acted as if they were about to go. The other two boys just looked at her and blinked
their eyes. Moments later just, as she suspected the boys began laughing at her and she was just as

Summary Of John Howard s Response To The China Problem
Introducing the debate roughly, I shall present on how different governments, from Howard
government to Abbott government, respond to the China problem.
4.1.1 John Howard government and the development of the China question, 1996 2007
Although Howard introduced his response to the China problem during his election campaign, his
government first systemically present the problem in the 1997 Australia s Foreign and Trade Policy
White Paper entitled In the National Interests. Australia s national interests include pragmatically
grasping economic benefits; strengthening relations with the US, and obtaining an upper hand in
technologies and military forces in the next fifteen years; and contributing to regional peace and
stability, the basis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Politically, the paper argued for binding engagement. Australia attempted to promote the principle of
the rule of law in the region. Indirectly, Howard government projected soft power, favorably
intangible power of binding norms, to engage Asian powers, including China, shaping their policy
preference without coercion (Nye 2004: 5 6). Public diplomacy is also discussed in the paper as a way
to project Australia s attractive image for the 2000 Sydney Olympics (Commonwealth of Australia
1997a: 78). In addition, the paper presented clue showing Australia s determination to remains
politically close with the United States and economic close with China looking for the formation of ad
hoc issue based coalitions to show Australia s eagerness in issues actively involved (Commonwealth
of Australia 1997a: 50 51). Shortly, the 1997 Foreign and Trade Policy White Paper laid down Howard
government s grand strategy with two particular focuses on strategic implications of the rise of Asia,
arguing against the need to choose one side exclusively between American led Western camp and,
potentially in the future, Chinese led Asian camp. On the other hand, several

The Negative Portrayal of Women in Breakfast of Champions...
The Negative Portrayal of Women in Breakfast of Champions
Kurt Vonnegut s Breakfast of Champions was written, as he says in the opening pages, to clear my
head of all the junk in there. . . . The things other people have put into my head, at any rate, do not fit
together nicely, are often useless and ugly (5). Though Vonnegut wrote this book over twenty years
after Simone de Beauvoir made her assessment of women s place in the world, his searing social
critique shows that the position of women has not changed much, that they are still the Others in
relation to men. A flawed society contributes to the situation, but Vonnegut shows that misplaced
priorities, foolish behavior, and shallow ways of thinking lead to bad ends for ... Show more content

When she sees Dwayne, she naively thinks that he could do for her what the Fairy Godmother could
do for Cinderella, if he wanted to (137). She realizes that he holds money and power, and this makes
him a magical person in her eyes (137). As she thinks about how he could help her solve her problems,
Patty notices that Dwayne is acting strangely and seems depressed. This causes her to feel sorry for
him, and turns her thoughts to how she can help Dwayne. Vonnegut writes, Patty Keene was
persuaded that she could make him happy with her young body, with her bravery and cheerfulness
(143). However, Patty s sympathy is clouded with materialistic thoughts of all of the new and used
cars Dwayne owned (143). She is willing to prostitute herself, since Dwayne could give her a fine
house and new automobiles and nice clothes and a life of leisure, and he could pay all the medical
bills . . . as easily as she had given him his hamburger and his French fries and his Coke (137).
Francine Pefko, Dwayne Hoover s secretary and mistress, is the best example of a woman completely
submissive to the will of man. She is a very efficient employee; at work she is described as pure

busy afternoon, Dwayne asks her to go to a motel with him, and Francine thinks it is her duty to go . . .

The Prejudice Towards Black Men
In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee shows us the prejudice towards black men in the
American judicial system. Since the 1930s, the injustice towards black men and woman has not
improved. In the United States, over 2,3 million people are incarcerated and one third black babies
will be incarcerated, (Stevenson, P.15). To change this, we need to implement change now. Our
society needs to change before the next Tom Robinson is sentenced without a fair trial.
The town of Maycomb was the standard for treatment of Negros in the 1930s. An example of
discrimination Negros faced in To Kill a Mockingbird, was when Mr. Radley made the assumption a
black person was sneaking around in this yard. Miss Stephanie said that, Shot in the air. Scared him
pale, though. Says if anybody sees a white nigger around, that s the one (Lee, P.54). This shows how
Mr. Radley assumed only a Negro would sneak into his yard. Maycomb also shows prejudice towards
Atticus when he defends Tom Robbinson. Even Atticus s family displays prejudice towards Atticus, I
guess it ain t your fault if uncle Atticus is a nigger lover besides, but I m here to tell you it certainly
does mortify the family (Lee, P.83). This is Francis regurgitating what his family has told him.
Prejudice goes beyond Maycomb s habits and extends right into the court of law with tom s trial. Tom
was wrongly accused as a result of a prejudice jury. Even a knowledgeable man, Atticus, knows that
Tom would not be proven innocent

The Safety Of The Air Travel
As one of the most popular methods of travel worldwide, air travel is something most can t live
without. But we know that a metal tube soaring through the air at 40,000 feet, in a low oxygen
environment, at over 400 knots can contain a risk or two. When the worst case scenario happens, who
foots this bill? Is it the airline, country, maintenance facility? Or maybe it is a terrorist organization
that was responsible for the accident. Either way, in the aftermath of an aircraft accident, people want
nothing more than to be able to mourn the loss of their loved ones without the politics involved in the
accountability department. Historically, these horrific accidents could have been prevented in most
cases and I m here to tell you that unless the accident was caused by an act of war, the airline is
absolutely responsible to the families of the victims involved.
Under an international agreement known as the Montreal Convention of 1999, an airline generally
cannot escape liability for a passenger death (Ingram) and per the IATA, the airline is responsible for
death and injury as well as loss of baggage and cargo. The Montreal Convention makes it difficult for
an airline to propose any type of argument because it is an international treaty and a standardized way
of pointing fingers at the airline when an accident occurs. Complementing this international treaty is
the Title 14 code of Federal Regulations which governs Airworthiness Certification and Operation of

Benefits Of The Health Care Industry
We live in a world with ever growing health care needs. As many national studies have shown, the
health care industry is projected to become one of the fastest growing industries worldwide by the
time we reach 2020 A.D. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is believed that the health care
industry is expected to overtake state and local government by the number of jobs added per year. But
why is this occurring? One reason is there has been an increase in the national average life expectancy.
Over the past several years, these studies have shown data which provides evidence that the average
human in 2015 is living longer than those just a few years ago. With life expectancy increasing, there
is a greater need for care over an individuals life time. Secondly, the generation which many call baby
boomers , are beginning to retire. Not only will these retirees have the potential need for additional
care but companies also need to find new workers who can replace their aging workforce. Both of
these circumstances can cause a shortage of staff in the medical field. In order for the medical field to
operate efficiently for their patients, there is a need for global health professionals who are capable of
becoming strong leaders for their community around them. These individuals must not only be
experienced in management but they must also have the ability to step into any circumstance to better
benefit the patient. Strong leaders in the medical field don t just

What Is The Purpose Of So Far Away
Going through the loss of a loved one is always a great hardship, and affects more people than ever
imaginable. It gives a feeling of anguish and despair that cannot easily be healed. So Far Away is an
alternative metal song performed by Avenged Sevenfold, and is a tribute to their deceased drummer
James Owen Sullivan. It is of lyrical and thematic perfection, accompanied with expertly played
instrumentals and powerful vocals that solidify capturing the feeling that comes with the loss of a

People may question how they will keep going in life without that person by their side. This song was
written shortly after the band s drummer passed away due to an intentional drug overdose. It was
written entirely as a tribute to their late friend and how he was an important part in their lives. Three
days before he passed, he wrote and recorded one last song named Fiction. This song was James
suicide note, and was originally named Death. These two songs go hand in hand with one another and
are both incredibly impactful on anybody. They show the suffering and pain that James went through
in his late life, and his choice to end that pain. So Far Away not only displays these feelings of grief

Charles Baxter s The Art Of Subtext
A story is only as good as the way it is told. The way a writer uses his or her words to say something is
just as important as what they don t say. Charles Baxter, author of plethora of books and university
teacher, writes a craft book that goes deeper than the surface of writing and deeper than the words
written down. In Charles Baxter s The Art of Subtext, he discusses how authors can use the words
they do write just as much to express what they don t write.
The first chapter, The Art of Staging claims Staging in fiction involves putting characters in specific
strategic positions in the scene so that some unvoiced nuance is revealed. (Baxter 13) This includes
the character s standing positions, their proximity to each other, specific gestures and facial
expressions, which give the reader more insight to the scene and the characters without explicitly
saying so. This goes hand in hand with the setting of the atmosphere where atmosphere sets the
dominant tone or the mood of a story. The atmosphere can be in reference to the setting or the
characters themselves. Here, the reader is to read between the lines. The key to this is using a lot of
detail which is crucial to providing the information.
This is something important that I need to incorporate in my own writing. More detail in my writing
concerning the unspoken things will allow the reader to see the evolution of the narrator s state of
mind. A twitch of an eye or how close my antagonist stands to his or her

Arabella Fight Club Essay
he Fountain of Youth s story has been told many a time throughout the years. This however, is the very
best of them all, full of romance and royalty, peasants and friendships. It is said to have taken place
during the year of King Gilbert s reign. Prince Alexander was the King s only son, and from a very
young age, he was very good at all he did, with very little help from tutors or private instructors.
Though he had only one friend, his nursemaid, Clemence s, only daughter, and her name was
Arabella. Arabella was born just after the prince no longer needed her mothers services, so he never
saw the two together. Arabella was just about 6 years younger than the Prince, and certainly much
farther down on the social pyramid, but no one cared how close they were, maybe because very few
people knew.
Arabella was a parlor maid for many years. The job of a parlor maid was a simple one, she was
expected to spend her time and attention to the drawing room and dining room, helping the waitress in
the pantry, or keeping the library and drawing room in order, and of course she had to be easy on the

Splintering Urbanism
There are many fundamental infrastructures in America that we rely on day to day. When I hear the
word infrastructure, the first thing that comes to mind are networks of transportation such as roads,
bridges, highways, rails, and airports. But infrastructure is so much more. From the water
infrastructure that provides a clean supply of water as well as the removal of water waste, to the
generation and distribution of power infrastructure, or even gas for those who need to heat their homes
and cook on stoves. All of these have their respective purposes and functions in society, but the focus
of this is going to be on the telecommunications infrastructure. The internet is a powerful system and
infrastructure that many people and their technology depend on. Even many other infrastructures have
the internet woven into its core in order to effectively operate. Tim Berners Lee, the creator of the
world wide web, once said, I myself feel that it is very important that my ISP supplies internet to my
house like the water company supplies water to my house. It supplies connectivity with no strings
attached. Sadly, connectivity to the telecommunications infrastructure is showing symptoms of
splintering urbanism in many American cities. Splintering urbanism refers to the various ... Show

How Does Kikkuji Play In Japanese
Chikako was unmarried because of the birthmark. There was compassion in her eyes. Oh? Kikuji s

Especially if he knew of it before he married her (Kawabata 5).
Chikako is one of the main characters throughout this book. She is the teacher of the tea ceremonies.
Before Kikuji meets her, it is understood that Kikuji s father has already had relations with her; she is

Her plan is to get Kikuji to see the Inamura girl so hopefully she will become his significant other.
When he witnesses her, he is in awe because she is very beautiful. She becomes important to the book
because Kikuji gets in a conflict between whether or not he wants to be with Fumiko or her. So
because of the relationship between Fumiko and Kikuji, Kikuji s character is affected throughout the
book.
Let s forget about it. It was nothing, she said. It was nothing at all. You were remembering my father?
What! She looked up in surprise (Kawabata 34).
Mrs. Ota is a widow who is also another mistress of Kikuji s father. After his death, Mrs. Ota was
alone again, except for her daughter, Fumiko. Seeing Kikuji at the tea ceremony made her realize the
similarities between Kikuji and his father. She began to treat him like he was his father. With this the
readers can understand that Mrs. Ota is looking for someone that will love her like her old husband or
even Mr. Mitani. So because Kikuji resembles his father, she becomes attached to him. She, however
feels guilty for what she is doing because she knows that it is wrong. She should not be in relations

Fear Is Bad
Bad and Good at the Same Time
Fear, the only emotion in life that is fun and not fun at the same time to experience. This is what
makes it so interesting to mankind. To no surprise, anything that can induce this emotion is able to
sell, and sell quickly at that. Although you don t need to pay to experience this feeling, being that life
is scary all on its own, many people do. Roller coasters, scary stories, and horror based video games
are all popular examples of things people pay to go through. A trend of fear in life and literature have

How Does Love Cause Conflict In A Midsummer Night s Dream
In the play, A Midsummer Night s Dream, William Shakespeare tries to tell the readers that love can
often sway people into performing illogical decisions. First of all, love can cause conflict amongst
people. This is shown when two of the main characters, Demetrius and Lysander, were fighting with
each other for Hermia s love. Demetrius scorns: Relent, sweet Hermia and Lysander, yield. Thy crazed
title to my certain right. (1.1.91 92). The conflict between the two men created tension amongst
themselves, Hermia, Helena, and the Noblemen of Athens. Moreover, love is also shown to cause
betrayal amongst friends. In the first act of the play, Demetrius was in love with Hermia; and Helena,
her best friend, was willing to betray her just for his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, affection amongst people can require some sacrifices to be made. Since the Duke of
Athens (Theseus) strictly forbade Lysander and Helena to be wed, they had to find another way to do
so. Lysander whispers: {To Helena} If thou lovest me then, steal forth thy father s house tomorrow
night. And in the wood, a league without the town...There I will stay for thee. (1.1.163 168). Instead of
talking to the Duke about their situation, they decided that leaving Athens and their things behind for
the cause of love would be a better plan. Likewise, anger between people has also been proven to be
caused by love. When the magical fairy Puck applied the love potion on Demetrius and Lysander, they
both ended up falling in love with Helena, which threw Hermia into a rage. Hermia yells: You thief of
love! What, have you come by night and stolen my love s heart from him? (3.2.290 291). Hermia had
thought that Helena had stolen Lysander s affection from her, enraging her and thus creating an even
larger conflict (for the lovers) in the process than if they had settled things in a civilized

The First Stop On My Cpr Tour
Crystal City Underground
The first stop on my CPR tour was the Crystal City Underground. This awesome cave sits in the heart
Crystal City, which is located about 30 miles south of St Louis, MO. Carved into the Mississippi river
bluff this cavern was once an active sand mine serving a local glass plant, Pittsburgh Plate Glass
factory, with materials for almost a century. In the 1980 s the plant and the mine were closed, allowing
water that was pumped out for decades to begin to flood portions of the cave. The recent owners of
this cave decided to turn the property into a tourist attraction. They built up area s for children to
explore, adults to play games, a stage for bands to play, a sitting area with large TV s for sports and
other event enjoyment, and barges to take tours on while exploring the depths of vastness this cave has
to offer. On the day of my arrival I had the pleasure of experiencing a dark path being well lit with
over 400 carved pumpkins along what was pleasantly titled the Great Pumpkin Walk. As I ventured
along I could see multiple paths that led to deeper parts of the cavern. Many of these paths were
blocked off for what I am assuming were safety reasons. After walking what seemed to be a half mile I
arrived at the tour barge. Loaded with 8 passengers our tour guide, Steve, took us deep into the cave
and explained its history while showing us fascinating things. I witnessed my first close up experience
with cave bats, got to see permanent

down, if you are scoring at home, that Baywatch is one of 2017 s worst films. Painfully, gratingly
unfunny, straining for every joke and chuckle, and delivering a beach mystery straight out of a
contrived 1980s T A flick, this movie is so poorly conceived, no amount of CPR or resuscitation can

About the only thing that works here is a barrage of putdowns levied upon the chiseled Zac Efron by

The Importance Of Secret Identity Or Stolen Identity
Secret Identity or Stolen Identity
How many, in this group has a computer, phone, and/or a tablet? How many have a mobile internet
connection, or a local internet connection available for you to use? If you said yes to any of those, then
it is likely you have an email address, you have given your home address on a website, entered credit
card information, and possibly do online banking. Life is filled with hoops, jumps, and seemingly
impossible boundaries. However, when including technology, it allows an extra vulnerability to you.
Unfortunately, some of those vulnerabilities are directly related to people with only one goal, to cause
problems. In the growing world of technology, the ability to steal personal information is becoming
much easier than ever before. With society switching to the cyber world as a more convenient way of
life, it is imperative to take the proper methods for protecting your information.
Before taking the proper methods, it s important to know what the criminal does to steal your
information. The criminal uses malware, short for malicious software, which is any form of software
being used against the user s permission. Forms of malware, such as ransomware, spyware, and root
kits are some you may heard of, but are only a portion of the tools used to steal a user s precious
information. A hacker can use his computer at all hours of the week to dig for information that a user
leaves unprotected. If the user is not carefully and well prepared, the hacker

how to discover subtle relationships that might exist between the documents by applying
dimensionality reduction to remove noise from the data and better apply the statistical data mining
methods in any given the collection of documents will be tested .
The phrase based document similarity approach to compute the pair wise similarities of documents
based on the Suffix Tree Document (STD) model will experimented in. The results will show that the
performance obtained by the proposed measure should be better than that achieved by other measures,
and the similarity between two sets of documents will evaluated on several real world data sets for
specific problems.

Abolish The Nkp
The NKVD was a law enforcement agency of the Soviet Union which was directly related with the
secret Soviet police. It was formed to control the militia(police), criminal investigation departments,
firefighters, internal troops, and prison guards. The main function of the NKVD was to protect the
state security of the Soviet Union. This was done by kidnapping, murdering, and by massive political
repression. The NKVD was run by the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, who was responsible for the deaths
of millions of people. During the 1930 s, the NKVD was responsible for political murders of those

Lizzie Borden On a hot morning on august 4, 1892, Mr. Andrew Borden and his wife, Abby Borden,
were brutally murdered. A daughter of the victims, Lizzie Borden was arrested, tried and acquitted of
the crime. She was a woman of spotless character and reputation, and more than that she was
educated, refined and prominently connected with the work of the Christian church in the Fall River
(Gates 2).The town and the country were divided in their opinions of who could commit such
horrifying murders. Many theories have been made to explain that day; the finger has been pointed in
every direction even a Chinese Sunday school student of Lizzies. To this day people are unsure as to

Finding that he wasn t home, she and the doctor s wife returned to the Borden home. Meanwhile, Mrs.
Churchill, the dearest neighbor to the Borden s, discovered Lizzie on the back porch in great distress.
She walked over to the house to console her after hearing that Mr. Borden had been murdered she
volunteered to send her handyman to find a doctor, and to help. The police station, about 400 yards
away, received the message at 11:15. By 11:45 the police and Dr. Bowen were on the scene (Sullivan

During all the confusion, while the handyman went for help, Mrs. Borden was completely forgotten.
She had left the house earlier to visit a sick friend. After Dr. Bowen asker about her Lizzie recalled
hearing her return and asked the maid to go upstairs to look for her. The maid refused fearing what she
might find. So with the company of Mrs. Churchill the miad agreed to scale the steps finding Mrs.
Borden murdered in the guestroom (Spiering 16).
Mrs. Borden was found with her head crushed in. there was a hole about 1.5 X 5.5 inches along with a
scalp wound where the flesh was cut off but not separated from the head. The wound was 2 inches
long by 1.5 inches wide. On the left side there were four wounds. Three of them went into the skull,
one taking apiece right out of the skull. Many of the wounds crushed through to the brain. Altogether
she received 18 blows to the head (Porter 19).

The Holocaust And The Nazi Regime During World War 2
The Holocaust refers to the systematic genocide of over a million Jews perpetrated by the Nazi
Regime during World War 2. Since the day it ended, historians over the world have attempted to
uncover the true reasons behind the Holocaust, leading to the prominent debate over the exact date the
Holocaust initially began. However due to a lack of considerable evidence, many opposing
interpretations of the evidence has surfaced with the creation of several schools of thought: the
Intentionalist, Functionalist and Opportunistic view. The Intentionalist view focuses complete blame
on Hitler as the evil totalitarian leader of the Third Reich. From their perspective, the Holocaust is
dated earlier, for it was always Hitler s intention to implement the premediated genocide of the Jewish
population. In contrast, the Functionalist view argues that Hitler wasn t the driving force behind the
Holocaust, but rather a weak dictator who was a willing slave to circumstance. They propose that the
Holocaust was dated later and advocate instead that an accumulation of structural factors led to the
Holocaust. Both these perspectives enhance our insight regarding the date of the Holocaust, they are
however hindered by their reliance on the interpretation of certain pieces of evidence and as such are
easily contradicted. As such the Opportunistic view offers the most comprehensive explanation, for it
synthesises both these contributions while addressing their flaws to provide the better outcome.

compare to today s organizations. And lastly I will also tell of the trends in today s formal
organizations in modern society. I will describe how each of the characteristics for formal
organizations will need to evolve or change in Micah s organization to be more open and flexible. And
I will give an overall prediction based on my research on how organizations like Micah s may evolve

Within a bureaucratic organization communication is left on an impersonal note consisting of email,
telephone, or letters. It seems that succession planning is becoming a major trend among major
corporations. Many companies are strategically planning processes and corporate policies. This is not
just for the upper ranks; this is becoming a proactive management of the corporation s entire talent
pool. Leadership development, integrating with talent management, and career development
programs, succession planning is going beyond the reactionary replacement of employees. Effective
succession planning is making it possible for the success of a organizations talent, on demand, and as
needed, right now and in the future. The biggest hindrances to organizations are time and resources. It
seems that the day to day challenges of running these companies over power the organization s ability
to effectively engage in succession planning. Many other obstacles occur when management feels
threatened because they are asked to train their successors; this is also in addition to being able to
predict the needs of the company in the company in the future. Many places do not have the internal
career development programs to help employees take over available positions in the future or have
clear career pathways defined. Being able to identify internal candidates with the right skills,

loving and helpful but interaction with her peers is limited since she does not speak in clear sentences.
Her words do not take the form of complete sentences and sometimes puzzles the teachers and her
peers as to what she is trying to say. Based on face to face interviews with her mother it was clear that
she is not given much opportunity to communicate at home which as a result her vocabulary is

2. How can storytelling improve social interaction in four year olds?
Summary
In summary this chapter dealt with the background of the child and the purpose of the study. It gave a
description of various strategies used through storytelling to improve the communication skills in a
four year old child. In chapter two the researcher will explore the literature that surrounds the research
study based on the effects of storytelling to improve communication skills in four year olds.
CHAPTER TWO
Literature Review The purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which storytelling can
improve the communication skills of a four year old child in an early childhood centre. Critical to this
examination there would be two main factors contributing to the research. These are storytelling to
improve communication skills and developing communication skills. It would demonstrate a clearer
understand of the value of intervention at an early age and the effect it has on the child reaching
his/her fullest potential. Nelson (2003) explains: Infants and toddlers use story to explain and create
meaning because that s what parents and their culture do. Storytelling impacts the development of
communication skills that are critical to a child s success at school. It encourages children to listen
actively and analytically, improves verbal skills, increases the child s taught and boosts their
understanding skills.

Dangers Of Peer Pressure On Girls
Dangers of Peer Pressure on Girls As a little girl I had much confidence about myself and felt I looked
the best from my school as well as many other girls from my school. Nowadays, many girls are
pressured into being perfect in a way they feel they will never accomplish. Little girls such as ten year
olds have started to show low self esteem and hate to their body image because of the models that are
being constantly promoted. As 10TV stated, When you were 10 or 11, you probably didn t give much
thought to body image. Today, kids that age are worried more about looking like Barbie than playing
Barbie. Girls are punishing themselves with cutting, going on extreme diets, and often kill themselves
because they hate themselves. Girls are also seen wearing makeup at a young age to improve their
facial features and think they will now finally be accepted in society as being perfect. A recent Mintel
survey showed that six out of ten seven year olds wear lipstick, and two in five use eyeshadows. (
Pretty Pressure: Girls it pays to be pretty, but not too pretty. ) So even though social media is showing
off beautiful women to give good advertisement, girls are being affected by constantly feeling down
and wanting to fit into society and be accepted and seen as perfect, they hate themselves for not being
pretty enough as celebrities that have gone through many surgeries to get that perfect image, and some
cases have led to issues such as depression, cutting, eating problem, and

Drugs And Prescription Drug Abuse
To illustrate the magnitude of the research problem and provide a frame of reference, this section
begins with a brief overview of the increased use of pharmaceuticals and prescription drug abuse in
the US. The section continues with the relationship between illicit drugs and prescriptions, adolescents
abuse, personal and social factors; then concludes with the theoretical approach. The Social Ecological
Theory, will be applied in researching prescription drug abuse, possible influences and protective
factors in adolescents in relation to prescription drug abuse, to develop focused intervention strategies
and educational programs for this population, similar to other substances such as tobacco, alcohol, and
marijuana.
Pharmaceuticals
The utilization of prescription drugs has increased across all age groups in the US, with 50% of
Americans taking at least one prescription drug (Rice Unruh, 2016). This can be attributed to
physician induced demand, substitution of pharmaceuticals for other medical regimens,
commercialization of the products, increase in the aging population and drug insurance coverage, and
also the increase in chronic conditions. Lathan discusses the startling fact that the rate increase of
prescription drugs purchased was considerably higher in contrast to the US population growth 71%
and 9% respectively (Rice Unruh, 2016, p. 264).

Hip Hop s Effect on American Culture Essay
Hip hop has permeated popular culture in an unprecedented fashion. Because of its crossover appeal,
it is a great unifier of diverse populations. Although created by black youth on the streets, hip hop s
influence has become well received by a number of different races in this country. A large number of
the rap and hip hop audience is non black. It has gone from the fringes, to the suburbs, and into the
corporate boardrooms. Because it has become the fastest growing music genre in the U.S., companies
and corporate giants have used its appeal to capitalize on it. Although critics of rap music and hip hop
seem to be fixated on the messages of sex, violence, and harsh language, this genre offers a new
paradigm of what can be (Lewis, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It began in the ?70s with funky beats resonating at house parties, at basement parties, and the streets of
New York (Fernando, 1994.)
In the early ?70s, a Jamaican d.j. known as Kool Herc moved from Kingston to NY?s West Bronx. He
attempted to incorporate his Jamaican style of dj, which involved reciting improvised rhymes over the
dub versions of his reggae records. Unfortunately New Yorkers were not into reggae at this time.
Because of this, he adapted his style by chanting over instrumental percussion sections of the day?s
popular songs. Since these breaks were relatively short, he learned to extend them indefinitely by
using an audio mixer and two identical records in which he continuously replaced the desires segment.
In those early days, young partygoers initially recited popular phrases and used the slang of the day.
This would usually evoke a response from the crowd, who began to call out their own names and
slogans. As this culture evolved, the party shouts became more elaborate as the dj, in an effort to be
different, began to incorporate little rhymes. It was not long before people began drawing upon
outdated dozens and schoolyard rhymes. Many would add their own twist and customize these rhymes
to make them suitable for the party environment (George, 1998).
At that time it was not yet known as ?rap? but called emceeing. As the interest in rap music grew, so
did its message. Rap caught on because

Supernatural And Spiritual Reasoning Regarding The...
Supernatural and spiritual reasoning regarding the physical properties of the universe are often
discredited because they lack sufficient evidence or overlook natural laws. However, many people still
rely on these ideologies as a doctrine governing their lives and world. Alternatively, the world has
shifted towards naturalism a practice which follows the physical properties of the world due to an
advancement in scientific inquiry and technology. Carl Sagan, author of The Demon Haunted World:
Science as a Candle in the Dark, claims that naturalism is the only reasonable framework to accurately
describe physical properties of the world. Sagan s claim is valid due to the self correcting mechanisms
found within naturalism that produce evidence with certainty.
To begin, Sagan constructs his discussion by defining hope, which is a feeling of expectation and
desire for something certain to happen. Science acts as a mechanism to find the truth in avenues which
we seek it. Every scientist hopes that he/she is right, but science is what makes them right. What
makes science right, according to Sagan, is that it has its own built in mechanism to correct itself
(Sagan, 27). Sagan is correct, the scientific method itself is designed to be a replicated process. That
is, if one scientist were to make an observation, form a hypothesis, run an experiment, record data, and
make a conclusion. Then, another scientist could repeat the process and results could be compared
between the two.

  • 2. Los Angeles Riots Sociology The Los Angeles riots in 1992 did not stem from the beating of Rodney King but stemmed from a much larger problem. Individuals were frustrated with being placed in a social hierarchy based on the color of their skin. The beating of Rodney King was the cherry on top for the bottled up frustration people felt. In the United States, there is a social hierarchy, and the judicial system works differently depending on where the individual is placed within the hierarchy. The riots were a non constructive way to fight for equal rights within the judicial system, but many individuals were fed up with society telling them where they should be placed. A social hierarchy has existed since the beginning of time. The inner workings of the overabundance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Suppressing negative emotions can cause mental health concerns, but individuals with low social power and low social status may use these strategies to avoid conflict (Langner, Social Hierarchy And Depression: The Role Of Emotion Suppression ). The social hierarchy affects mental health in part through a process of emotion suppression. It also does not help that some scholars suggest that the more individuals aim at climbing the social hierarchy, the more society s hierarchy gets strong (Bardoscia, The Social Climbing Game ). Pepi Leistyna states in her Social Class and Entertainment television article that there are harsh realities that the poor and working class of color face, but television and other media outlets show that the middle class is open to everyone (Leistyna 3). The middle class has not been open to everyone, and the social hierarchy that has been the unwritten law of where an individual is placed in society can explain this. The hierarchy is not only destructive for individuals of color, but even European females and European families who have not came from money. It is a frustrating reality that seems never to be changing and only getting worse. The country is dividing into the two extremes. There is the rich who are getting richer and the poor who are getting poorer. The majority of individuals who are getting poorer are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When the bus accident happened Frida Kahlo was stabbed by a steel handrail, which went all the way through her hip, which was a serious fracture and left her in the hospital for several weeks in the hospital to recover. The only good outcome out of this was that during her recovery time she used her time painting so her talent came out to the world. She was married to another great Mexican artist, Diego Rivera who was consider a muralist at the time. He was also a great influence when she started painting. One of her paintings, The Two Frida s, shows us two Kahlo s and how one person can feel and look like two totally different people after an emotional experience, in this case the divorcement of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. Indeed, Canada is coming to the debate later than many countries. Several countries have debated this issue for many years and have come up with a variety of approaches, ranging from same sex marriage in the Netherlands to the legal recognition of domestic partners, registered partnerships and civil unions in Scandinavia, parts of Europe and parts of the United States. Although some of these approaches appear to be similar, each is quite different, as it has been created to fit the particular society and to comply with the specific constitutional and legal structures in each country. Some details are set out below. In addition to these laws, most provinces and territories have now also legislated to provide some or all of the benefits and obligations of married couples to common law gay and lesbian couples under provincial and territorial laws. Quebec Bill 84 — An Act instituting civil unions and establishing new rules of filiation — was passed by the National Assembly in June 2002. The Act amends the Civil Code and a number of other provincial laws to create a new status of civil union partners (open to both unmarried opposite sex and same sex conjugal partners). Civil union partners have almost all of the same benefits and obligations under provincial law as married couples do, including the legal relationship between the partner and any children. A civil union can be dissolved by a court judgment, a notarized joint declaration (under some circumstances) or upon the death of one of the partners. A partner to a civil union cannot marry without first dissolving the civil union. While ensuring equal treatment, the Act makes it clear that civil unions are not marriages, and retains some legal distinctions between the two. For example, some provisions of the Civil Code that relate to legal separation continue to apply only to married couples. Nova Scotia Nova Scotia has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The First Of A New Historical Period With the repeated financial crises that effected the global market economy in resent years, and with the realization that many of the practices, behaviors, and political decision that led to the economic crisis in the first place are still in place, one can only wonder if capitalism as an economic, social, and political structure is coming to an end as we know it? What makes this predication more realistic now than ever is the political changes that we are witnessing and the lack of social stability that is affecting every corner of the planet; it seems that the seeds of change were already planted, and now we are witnessing the early stages of a new historical period. However, a system, like capitalism, that became part of the very nature of how societies function and exist is hard to overcome. In addition, this unstable era is not the first for the capitalist system. In fact, lack of stability and conflict during WWII only allowed capitalist countries, such as the U.S. and Japan, to emerge stronger, more dominant, and more hegemonic. Thus, why would this period of time could by any different from the previous crises that the capitalist system faced and overcame? These debates have dominated the political economy field in the recent years, and in this paper, I will attempt to cover some of the main argument in support of each of these points of view. Many argued that capitalism, as we know it, in all of it variations and models, has came to an end. Capitalism, as Marx had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Exosomes As A Whole Has Gained Momentum Through The Area... The interest and research invested into the area of exosome biogenesis and the topic of exosomes as a whole has gained momentum in the last decade (Urbanelli, L. et al. 2013). Their discovery in 1983, detailed in two papers published in JCB (Harding et al) and in Cell (Pan and Johnstone), showed that the nomenclature had been prescribed wrongly to a broad range of membrane vesicles that bud directly from the plasma membrane (Clifford V. Harding. et al. 2013). When in fact the term exosome more accurately describes small vesicles, ranging from 30 100nm in diameter (Urbanelli, L. et al. 2013), that originate via a different mechanism of budding than apoptotic bodies and microvesicles, (Yu, S. et al. 2015). Whilst exosomes have been retrieved in many body fluids, for example; blood, urine, saliva and cerebrospinal fluid (Urbanelli, L. et al. 2013). They are recently thought to be present in all biological fluids. Exosome Biogenesis Exosomes are exceptional from other types of vesicles based on a number of factors; including their size (relatively small in comparison), morphology, cargo composition and most distinctly, their endosomal origin (Théry C. 2002). Familiar types of vesicles such as microvesicles are formed at the cell surface, budding directly from the plasma membrane (Alenquer, M. et al. 2015). Exosome biogenesis follows an alternative method that begins in the early endosome (Huotari, J and Helemius, A. 2011), whereby the ultimate result is the formation of intraluminal vesicles (IVL s) inside the lumen of the endosome, this aggregate body is known as the multivesicular body (MVB) or the multivesicular endosome (MVE). Initially the early endosomal membrane, tube like in shape (Beach, A. et al, 2014), buds inwards via intraluminal invagination (Lopez Verrilli, M and Court, F. 2013), randomly engulfing sections of the cytosol contents such as the peripheral and transmembrane proteins. This formation of the IVL s noticeably augments as the endosomes mature (Huotari, J and Helemius, A. 2011) and after transformation the late endosome is more spherical in shape (Beach, A. et al. 2014). Summary Of John Howard s Response To The China Problem Introducing the debate roughly, I shall present on how different governments, from Howard government to Abbott government, respond to the China problem. 4.1.1 John Howard government and the development of the China question, 1996 2007 Although Howard introduced his response to the China problem during his election campaign, his government first systemically present the problem in the 1997 Australia s Foreign and Trade Policy White Paper entitled In the National Interests. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Politically, the paper argued for binding engagement. Australia attempted to promote the principle of the rule of law in the region. Indirectly, Howard government projected soft power, favorably intangible power of binding norms, to engage Asian powers, including China, shaping their policy preference without coercion (Nye 2004: 5 6). Public diplomacy is also discussed in the paper as a way to project Australia s attractive image for the 2000 Sydney Olympics (Commonwealth of Australia 1997a: 78). The Negative Portrayal of Women in Breakfast of Champions Kurt Vonnegut s Breakfast of Champions was written, as he says in the opening pages, to clear my head of all the junk in there. . . . The things other people have put into my head, at any rate, do not fit together nicely, are often useless and ugly (5). Though Vonnegut wrote this book over twenty years after Simone de Beauvoir made her assessment of women s place in the world, his searing social critique shows that the position of women has not changed much, that they are still the Others in relation to men. A flawed society contributes to the situation, but Vonnegut shows that misplaced priorities, foolish behavior, and shallow ways of thinking lead to bad ends for ... As she thinks about how he could help her solve her problems, Patty notices that Dwayne is acting strangely and seems depressed. This causes her to feel sorry for him, and turns her thoughts to how she can help Dwayne. Vonnegut writes, Patty Keene was persuaded that she could make him happy with her young body, with her bravery and cheerfulness (143). However, Patty s sympathy is clouded with materialistic thoughts of all of the new and used cars Dwayne owned (143). • 13. The Prejudice Towards Black Men In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee shows us the prejudice towards black men in the American judicial system. Since the 1930s, the injustice towards black men and woman has not improved. In the United States, over 2,3 million people are incarcerated and one third black babies will be incarcerated, (Stevenson, P.15). To change this, we need to implement change now. Our society needs to change before the next Tom Robinson is sentenced without a fair trial. The town of Maycomb was the standard for treatment of Negros in the 1930s. An example of discrimination Negros faced in To Kill a Mockingbird, was when Mr. Radley made the assumption a black person was sneaking around in this yard. Miss Stephanie said that, Shot in the air. Scared him pale, though. Says if anybody sees a white nigger around, that s the one (Lee, P.54). This shows how Mr. Radley assumed only a Negro would sneak into his yard. Maycomb also shows prejudice towards Atticus when he defends Tom Robbinson. Even Atticus s family displays prejudice towards Atticus, I guess it ain t your fault if uncle Atticus is a nigger lover besides, but I m here to tell you it certainly does mortify the family (Lee, P.83). But we know that a metal tube soaring through the air at 40,000 feet, in a low oxygen environment, at over 400 knots can contain a risk or two. When the worst case scenario happens, who foots this bill? Is it the airline, country, maintenance facility? Or maybe it is a terrorist organization that was responsible for the accident. Either way, in the aftermath of an aircraft accident, people want nothing more than to be able to mourn the loss of their loved ones without the politics involved in the accountability department. Historically, these horrific accidents could have been prevented in most cases and I m here to tell you that unless the accident was caused by an act of war, the airline is absolutely responsible to the families of the victims involved. Under an international agreement known as the Montreal Convention of 1999, an airline generally cannot escape liability for a passenger death (Ingram) and per the IATA, the airline is responsible for death and injury as well as loss of baggage and cargo. The Montreal Convention makes it difficult for an airline to propose any type of argument because it is an international treaty and a standardized way of pointing fingers at the airline when an accident occurs. As many national studies have shown, the health care industry is projected to become one of the fastest growing industries worldwide by the time we reach 2020 A.D. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is believed that the health care industry is expected to overtake state and local government by the number of jobs added per year. But why is this occurring? One reason is there has been an increase in the national average life expectancy. Over the past several years, these studies have shown data which provides evidence that the average human in 2015 is living longer than those just a few years ago. With life expectancy increasing, there is a greater need for care over an individuals life time. Secondly, the generation which many call baby boomers , are beginning to retire. Charles Baxter, author of plethora of books and university teacher, writes a craft book that goes deeper than the surface of writing and deeper than the words written down. In Charles Baxter s The Art of Subtext, he discusses how authors can use the words they do write just as much to express what they don t write. The first chapter, The Art of Staging claims Staging in fiction involves putting characters in specific strategic positions in the scene so that some unvoiced nuance is revealed. (Baxter 13) This includes the character s standing positions, their proximity to each other, specific gestures and facial expressions, which give the reader more insight to the scene and the characters without explicitly saying so. This goes hand in hand with the setting of the atmosphere where atmosphere sets the dominant tone or the mood of a story. The atmosphere can be in reference to the setting or the characters themselves. Here, the reader is to read between the lines. The key to this is using a lot of detail which is crucial to providing the information. This is something important that I need to incorporate in my own writing. • 32. The Holocaust And The Nazi Regime During World War 2 The Holocaust refers to the systematic genocide of over a million Jews perpetrated by the Nazi Regime during World War 2. Since the day it ended, historians over the world have attempted to uncover the true reasons behind the Holocaust, leading to the prominent debate over the exact date the Holocaust initially began. However due to a lack of considerable evidence, many opposing interpretations of the evidence has surfaced with the creation of several schools of thought: the Intentionalist, Functionalist and Opportunistic view. The Intentionalist view focuses complete blame on Hitler as the evil totalitarian leader of the Third Reich. From their perspective, the Holocaust is dated earlier, for it was always Hitler s intention to implement the premediated genocide of the Jewish population. In contrast, the Functionalist view argues that Hitler wasn t the driving force behind the Holocaust, but rather a weak dictator who was a willing slave to circumstance. They propose that the Holocaust was dated later and advocate instead that an accumulation of structural factors led to the Holocaust. Both these perspectives enhance our insight regarding the date of the Holocaust, they are however hindered by their reliance on the interpretation of certain pieces of evidence and as such are easily contradicted. As such the Opportunistic view offers the most comprehensive explanation, for it synthesises both these contributions while addressing their flaws to provide the better outcome. ... It seems that succession planning is becoming a major trend among major corporations. Many companies are strategically planning processes and corporate policies. Leadership development, integrating with talent management, and career development programs, succession planning is going beyond the reactionary replacement of employees. Effective succession planning is making it possible for the success of a organizations talent, on demand, and as needed, right now and in the future. The biggest hindrances to organizations are time and resources. It seems that the day to day challenges of running these companies over power the organization s ability to effectively engage in succession planning. Many other obstacles occur when management feels threatened because they are asked to train their successors; this is also in addition to being able to predict the needs of the company in the company in the future. Dangers Of Peer Pressure On Girls Dangers of Peer Pressure on Girls As a little girl I had much confidence about myself and felt I looked the best from my school as well as many other girls from my school. Nowadays, many girls are pressured into being perfect in a way they feel they will never accomplish. Little girls such as ten year olds have started to show low self esteem and hate to their body image because of the models that are being constantly promoted. As 10TV stated, When you were 10 or 11, you probably didn t give much thought to body image. Today, kids that age are worried more about looking like Barbie than playing Barbie. Girls are punishing themselves with cutting, going on extreme diets, and often kill themselves because they hate themselves. Girls are also seen wearing makeup at a young age to improve their facial features and think they will now finally be accepted in society as being perfect. A recent Mintel survey showed that six out of ten seven year olds wear lipstick, and two in five use eyeshadows. ( Pretty Pressure: Girls it pays to be pretty, but not too pretty. ) So even though social media is showing off beautiful women to give good advertisement, girls are being affected by constantly feeling down and wanting to fit into society and be accepted and seen as perfect, they hate themselves for not being pretty enough as celebrities that have gone through many surgeries to get that perfect image, and some cases have led to issues such as depression, cutting, eating problem, and ... Drugs And Prescription Drug Abuse To illustrate the magnitude of the research problem and provide a frame of reference, this section begins with a brief overview of the increased use of pharmaceuticals and prescription drug abuse in the US. The section continues with the relationship between illicit drugs and prescriptions, adolescents abuse, personal and social factors; then concludes with the theoretical approach. The Social Ecological Theory, will be applied in researching prescription drug abuse, possible influences and protective factors in adolescents in relation to prescription drug abuse, to develop focused intervention strategies and educational programs for this population, similar to other substances such as tobacco, alcohol, and marijuana. Pharmaceuticals The utilization of prescription drugs has increased across all age groups in the US, with 50% of Americans taking at least one prescription drug (Rice Unruh, 2016). This can be attributed to physician induced demand, substitution of pharmaceuticals for other medical regimens, commercialization of the products, increase in the aging population and drug insurance coverage, and also the increase in chronic conditions. Lathan discusses the startling fact that the rate increase of prescription drugs purchased was considerably higher in contrast to the US population growth 71% and 9% respectively (Rice Unruh, 2016, p. 264). In the early ?70s, a Jamaican d.j. known as Kool Herc moved from Kingston to NY?s West Bronx. He attempted to incorporate his Jamaican style of dj, which involved reciting improvised rhymes over the dub versions of his reggae records. Unfortunately New Yorkers were not into reggae at this time. Because of this, he adapted his style by chanting over instrumental percussion sections of the day?s popular songs. Since these breaks were relatively short, he learned to extend them indefinitely by using an audio mixer and two identical records in which he continuously replaced the desires segment. In those early days, young partygoers initially recited popular phrases and used the slang of the day. This would usually evoke a response from the crowd, who began to call out their own names and slogans. As this culture evolved, the party shouts became more elaborate as the dj, in an effort to be different, began to incorporate little rhymes. It was not long before people began drawing upon outdated dozens and schoolyard rhymes. Many would add their own twist and customize these rhymes to make them suitable for the party environment (George, 1998). At that time it was not yet known as ?rap? but called emceeing. • 42. Supernatural And Spiritual Reasoning Regarding The... Supernatural and spiritual reasoning regarding the physical properties of the universe are often discredited because they lack sufficient evidence or overlook natural laws. However, many people still rely on these ideologies as a doctrine governing their lives and world. Alternatively, the world has shifted towards naturalism a practice which follows the physical properties of the world due to an advancement in scientific inquiry and technology. Carl Sagan, author of The Demon Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark, claims that naturalism is the only reasonable framework to accurately describe physical properties of the world. Sagan s claim is valid due to the self correcting mechanisms found within naturalism that produce evidence with certainty. To begin, Sagan constructs his discussion by defining hope, which is a feeling of expectation and desire for something certain to happen. Science acts as a mechanism to find the truth in avenues which we seek it. Every scientist hopes that he/she is right, but science is what makes them right. What makes science right, according to Sagan, is that it has its own built in mechanism to correct itself (Sagan, 27). Sagan is correct, the scientific method itself is designed to be a replicated process. That is, if one scientist were to make an observation, form a hypothesis, run an experiment, record data, and make a conclusion. Then, another scientist could repeat the process and results could be compared between the two. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
